THE VEHICLE IS WELL MAINTAINED AND THE LAST OIL CHANGE AT 52,000 MILES HAD NO WARNING LIGHTS AND THE TECH SAID THERE WAS NO OIL. IT WAS JUST ABOUT 5,000 MILES SINCE LAST OIL CHANGE. SEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A FAR TOO COMMON PROBLEM.
HYUNDAI TUCSON 2016. I HAVE CHANGE THE WINDOWS MECHANICAL 3 TIMES. ONCE THE CAR IS ON THE WINDOWS GETS DOWN AND WONT WORK UNTIL.YOU CHANGE THE PART THAT PUTS IT UP. THE WHITE ROUND PIECE IN THE MIDDLE GETS STRIPPED
THE DOOR LATCHES RANDOMLY STOP WORKING AND PASSENGERS CANNOT ENTER OR EXIT VEHICLE. STARTED WITH MY REAR DOOR SO I HAD THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR REPLACED AND NOW THE PROBLEM IS HAPPENING TO THE FRONT DOORS. I HAVE FRIENDS WITH THE SAME VEHICLE SAME YEAR AND ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH ALL THE DOORS. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS AT THE WRONG TIME.
EVERY DAY MY CAR STUTTERS AS I BEGIN MY DAY TO WORK. IT LAGS IN ACCELERATION AT LEAST ONE TO THREE TIMES A DAY. IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN I ACCELERATE IN RUSH HOUR, TRYING TO GO AFTER A LIGHT TURNS GREEN, OR SPEEDING UP JUST IN GENERAL. I HAVE KIDS IN MY CAR CONSTANTLY BECAUSE OF MY JOB AND I CAN RECALL TWO TIMES THAT I'VE ALMOST BEEN HIT BECAUSE MY CAR DIDN'T DO AS I NEEDED IT TO. IT HAS FREAKED ME OUT AND I WONDER IF I'M GOING TO GET STUCK ONE DAY, IT SPUTTERS AND I DON'T FEEL LIKE MY RIDE HOME IS GUARANTEED. I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A TURBO THING, BECAUSE I'VE NEVER OWNED A CAR WITH TURBO BUT NOW I'M REALIZING OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THIS ISSUE AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME OR MY DRIVING. IT HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY, IT HAPPENS ON THE CITY STREET AND IT HAPPENS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE I'VE OWNED THE CAR AND I'M SAD TO SAY I'VE THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MY MAKE AND MODEL THIS WHOLE TIME.
BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE.
THE CAR STALLED(DID NOT ACCELLERATE WHILE MERGING IN TO TRAFFIC FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS . THIS REQUIRED ONCOMING TRAFFIC TO BRAKE TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT. THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 40MPH ON A STREET CIRCLING A MALL.THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED OWNING THIS CAR WHICH ONLY HAS A LITTLE OVER 13800 MILES ON IT I HAVE SINCE CHECKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND THERE ARE NO OUTSTANDING RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM AND NO SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. I THEREFORE THINK THERE IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE DCT AND ENGINE SOFTWARE/HARDWARE THAT COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.
TRANS DOESN' WORK RIGHT IN FIRST GEAR DOES'T GO IN GEAR RIGHT A WAY I WILL GET REAR ENDED ONEDAY

CAR DOESN'T ALWAYS ACCELERATE WHEN YOU PUSH GAS PEDDLE.I HAVE TO WAIT TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE I AM NOT SURE CAR WILL GO WHEN I HIT GAS.NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN. ONLY HAPPENS FROM A STOP OR GOING SLOW.THE HYUNDAI DEALER SAID THEY HAVE A DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION IN THE 2019 TUCSON.I AM SURE THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNLESS ENOUGH PEOPLE GET HURT OR KILLED.I KNOW TWO OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE AND THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 55-60 mph, she heard an abnormal noise. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that she was able to park on the side of the road before the vehicle was seized. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to her residence. The vehicle was then towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, started to experience failure with the brakes. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and was informed that the VIN was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V543000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics). The dealer completed the recall repair however, the failure with the brakes recurred. Additionally, the rear driver’s side door failed to open. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,055.
THERE IS AN ACCELERATION RECALL ON SOME OF THE 2016 TUCSON'S MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW UP ON THERE BUT I'M HAVING THE EXACT PROBLEMS THAT THEY'RE RECALLING THE CAR FOR I GO TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY THAT MY CAR IS FINE BUT IT ISN'T. I'VE BEEN STUCK IN AN INTERSECTION SEVERAL TIMES I'VE HAD MY CAR MAKE THIS GRINDING SOUND WHEN I APPLY THE GAS FROM A STOP AND MY CAR IS SITTING THERE. OTHERS THAT HAVE DRIVEN WITH ME HAVE WITNESS THIS HAPPENED BUT THE DEALERSHIP HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENS FROM A STOP EXAMPLE IF I'M AT A STOPLIGHT APPLY THE BRAKES TO GO AND THE CAR MAKES A GRINDING SOUND OR SOMETIMES WHEN I'M GOING AROUND A CORNER AFTER A STOP IT WILL HESITATE AND I'LL BE STUCK IN THE INTERSECTION
REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN WHEN UNLOCKED WITH EITHER OUTSIDE HANDLE NOR INSIDE HANDLE WITHOUT JARRING DOOR. SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO GET CHILDREN OUT OF CARSEAT
I CANNOT ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC. THERE IS A HESITATION IN THE ACCELERATOR. SOMETIMES NOTHING HAPPENS, SOMETIMES IT CHUGS FIRST THEN GOES. I HAVE TROUBLE MERGING AND GETTING INTO TRAFFIC. IT IS UNRELIABLE FROM A STATIONARY TO MOVEMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY RESPOND AND THEN SUDDENLY ACCELERATED/LUNGED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO SHUDDER AND VIBRATE WHILE DRIVING AT VERY LOW SPEEDS. ALSO, ON OCCASION, THE ENGINE AND RPMS WOULD REV VERY HIGH WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL; HOWEVER, THE SPEED WOULD NOT INCREASE, WHICH MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT WHILE PASSING OTHER VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRESTIGE HYUNDAI (768 E. CHESTER ST, KINGSTON, NY), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES COULD NOT DUPLICATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50.
REAR DOOR LOCK IS INTERMITTENTLY UNLOCKING DOOR. DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED BY MANY OWNERS AND HYUNDAI IS SAYING NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR FOR THE DOOR AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO HAVE IT EVALUATED BY THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
WHEN YOU PUT THE VECHICLE IN REVERSEL SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT MOVE THEN YOU HAVE TO PUT IT BACK IN PARK AND TRY IT AGAINAND IT WILL MOVE
3 out of the 4 windows do not go down or up with window button. The windows now move down on their own when driving that can cause a distraction if in bad weather like with heavy rain, wind, or sand storm. If I hit a bump in the road the window come down some much distracting my driving ability. I'm having to stop the card and pull up the windows with my hands now which anyone could go to my car now and just slide the windows down with their hand and break in to the suv. This happen just during my warranty but was unable to take it in due to covid restrictions at the time for myself before the time expired on the warranty. This seems like a know issue for the make and model from many in the hyundai tucson community.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM AN IDLE POSITION, CAR STRUGGLES TO SHIFT GEARS AUTOMATICALLY. WHEN MAKING A TURN, USUALLY LEFT TURN, VEHICLE STALLS AND STRUGGLES TO ACCELERATE MAKING IT VERY DANGEROUS.
SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH BREAKS. IT DOESN'T FULLY STOPPED THE CAR WHEN I PRESS DOWN ON THE PADS. I HAVE TO PRESS TWICE DOWN FOR THE CAR TO STOP. DRIVER WINDOWS POWER WINDOWS SOMETIMES WHEN I AM TRYING TO CLOSE THE WINDOWS IT ACTUALLY GOES DOWN.
MY VEHICLE STALLS WHEN I HIT THE GAS. HAS TROUBLE SWITCHING GEARS.
HORRIBLE HESITATION UPON ACCELERATION!!! AFRAID OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, LAST EVENING I WAS STUCK IN CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC AND MY TRANSMISSION STARTED OVERHEATING!!! A FEW MINUTES LATER THE CAR STOPPED!! I WAS ON A MAJOR ROAD AND NOW CAUSED MORE OF A TRAFFIC JAM. HAD TO SIT THERE FOR 10MINUTES TILL IT COOLED ENOUGH AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY, MY SEAT CAME FORWARD BRINGING ME TO THE STEERING WHEEL. NOW WHEN I DRIVE I AM ALWAYS ADJUSTING MY SEAT BECAUSE IT STILL MOVE FORWARD ON ITS OWN.
I'VE NOTICED A LAG IN PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL MANY TIMES, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN SPECIFIC INSTANCES WHERE IT'S BEEN SIGNIFICANT. I WAS PULLING ACROSS TRAFFIC TURNING LEFT FROM A STOP, AND IT FELT AS THOUGH THE ENGINE STALLED AND TOOK ABOUT 5 SECONDS TO CATCH. THIS ALSO OCCURS WHEN PULLING INTO MY WORK PARKING LOT THAT IS ON A HILL, I OFTEN GET STUCK FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS BEFORE IT CATCHES.
MY VEHICLE STALLS TO ACCELERATE.WHEN I HIT THE GAS IT WILL STALL TO MOVE, IT'S DRAGGING VERY SLOW. THIS IS VERY SCARY WHEN I'M DRIVING AND MY SUV SLOWS DOWN WHEN OTHER CARS ARE DRIVING FAST BEHIND ME.
The doors on the passenger side of the car will not open from the outside or inside. My car was not hit. I have been in no accidents, but the just do not open anymore. My driver side door takes two attempts before it opens. The only door that works like it should is the back-seat driver side door. No warnings. This happened months ago, but I was out of warranty. The dealership service department told me $350 per door to repair. Found that hundreds of owner of this make/model experience the same. Totally unsafe that only 1 of 4 doors function properly.

Both back doors fail to open from the inside or outside and the front doors are starting to fail as well.
I WAS DRIVING IN ON A STREET IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AT ABOUT 30 MPH, WHEN THE VEHICLE TURNED COMPLETELY OFF. I RESTARTED THE CAR WITH NO PROBLEM.ON 9/10/19 I WAS DRIVING ON A STREET IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AND MADE LEFT TURN AND CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED AFTER COMPLETING THE TURN.I WAS ABLE TO RESTART CAR WITH NO PROBLEM.THERE WERE NO TURNS INVOLVED IN THE FIRST INCIDENT.
THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THREE OCCASIONS, WHEN SITTING IDLE AND ABOUT TO ACCELERATE TO TURN INTO TRAFFIC, MY CAR HAS STALLED, SHOOK AND ALMOST STOPPED. IN ONE INSTANCE MY CAR WAS IN PARK WHEN I STOPPED TO TAKE SOMETHING OUT OF MY VEHICLE. UPON PUTTING IN DRIVE, THE ENGINE REVVED AND BUT DID NOT MOVE THE VEHICLE. TWO TIMES ALMOST RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE!! THESE INSTANCES HAPPENED THIS WEEK, DATING 8/17/12019 - 8/19/2019 AT APPROX 23,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. ONCE IN OUR RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD, ONCE ON A VERY BUSY 4 LANE HIGHWAY.
THE VEHICLE STALLS WHILE, FROM A STOP, TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. IT SEEMS TO BE A WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THE DEALER TOLD ME JUST LEARN HOW TO DRIVE IT. WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO THIS DEFECT AND MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE THE TUCSON. HYUNDAI TOO KNOWS OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS HAD NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. I UNDERSTAND THERE HAS ALSO BEEN LAW SUITS FOR THE LEMON LAW AGAINST THIS VEHICLE BUT, THE DEEP POCKETS OF HYUNDAI'S CORPORATE LAWYERS ALWAYS WINS OUT. DO PEOPLE HAVE TO BECOME SERIOUSLY INJURED OR PERHAPS DEAD BEFORE A RECALL HAPPENS? THE DATE BELOW REFLECTS THE LAST TIME I WAS ALMOST HIT BECAUSE THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE AND THEN STOPPED.
CAR CONSISTENTLY HAS TROUBLE ACCELERATING FROM A FULL STOP; LURCHES FORWARD AND SPUTTERS. WHEN IN REVERSE, CANNOT ACCELERATE TO MOVE VEHICLE. WHEN TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 85 DEGREES OUTSIDE, CAR WILL NOT TURN ON.
ON OR ABOUT 8/17/2019, THE DATE AND TIME DISAPPEARED FROM THE DISPLAY. DEALERSHIP STATES THAT IT IS A HYUNDAI SATELLITE COMMUNICATION ERROR AFFECTING 100 OF THOUSANDS VEHICLES. NUMEROUS CONTACTS VIA TWITTER, FACEBOOK AND MYHYUNDAI WEBSITE HAVE NOT BEEN RESPONDED TOO. TELEPHONE CALLS TO HYUNDAI CUSTOMER AWARENESS JUST REPEAT THAT HYUNDAI IS AWARE OF THE SITUATION BUT NO FIX OR SOLUTION IS AVAILABLE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE NOT HAVING ACCESS TO THE TIME REQUIRES CHECKING CELL PHONE WHICH IN WASHINGTON STATE IS CONSIDERED DISTRACTED DRIVING AND IS ILLEGAL. SINCE USING VEHICLE FOR WORK, KNOWING THE TIME NUMEROUS TIMES DURING VARIOUS TRIPS AS WELL KIDS CONTINUALLY CHECKING THE TIME ON CELL PHONES A SAFETY ISSUE HAS DEVELOPED AND HYUNDAI IS IGNORING NOT ONLY THE PROBLEM BUT THE CAR OWNERS. NOT HAVING A WORKING CLOCK MAY SEEM TRIVIAL, BUT HAVING TO PICK UP A CELL PHONE TO CHECK THE CURRENT TIME IS DANGEROUS AND WOULD BE UNNECESSARY IF HYUNDAI FIXED A FEATURE THAT CAME WITH THE CAR.
IN SUMMER OF 2019 I NOTICED LEFT REAR PASSENGER WINDOW STOPPED FUNCTIONING. A FEW MONTHS LATER, RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR STARTED NOT OPENING FROM THE OUTSIDE. FAST FORWARD 3 MONTHS LATER, DRIVER WIDE WINDOW STOPPED FUNCTIONING AND NOW A FEW SHORT WEEKS LATER THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NO LONGER OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. I HAVE TRIED OPERATING THE WINDOWS THAT AREN'T WORKING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND ALSO WHILE MOVING. THE DOORS OBVIOUSLY HAVE ONLY BEEN ATTEMPTED TO BE OPEN WHILE STATIONARY AND IN PARK. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL ISSUE? BUT I ALSO BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. *LN CONSUMER STATED SHE NOW HAS 3 DOORS AND 2 WINDOWS THAT ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *JB
MY DAUGHTER HAS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. SHE HAS TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP A FEW TIMES BECAUSE WHEN SHE STEPS ON THE GAS IT DOES NOT WANNA GO. I'M AFRAID SHE IS GONNA HER IN AN ACCIDENT WITH HER VEHICLE NOT WANT TO MOVE WHEN IT IS STUCK IN AN INTERSECTION. I REALLY FEEL THAT THEY NEED TO LOOK AT IT AND CHECK IT AGAIN BECAUSE THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT. IT ALWAYS FEELS LIKE IT WANTS TO STALL OUT AND JUST DOES NOT WANT TO GO ANYWHERE. PASSENGER AIR BAG COMES ON AT TIMES. TRANSMISSION SOME TIMES WILL NOT MOVE THE CAR.
WHEN IN DRIVING MODE CAR IS SHAKING, VERY OFTEN CAR WOULD STOPPED WHILE DRIVING. WHEN I AM DRIVING 15 MPH AND WANT TO ACCELERATE OR WHEN I PRESS ACCELERATE PEDAL CAR WOULDN'T REACT. REACTION IS LATE 3,4 SECONDS UNTIL CAR STARTS MOVING.I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE THE FIRST DAY WE BOUGHT THE CAR..OUR DEALER HYUNDAI GROSINGER DIDN'T WANT TO CHECK IF EVERYTHING WAS OK WITH THE TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE IS NOT RESPONSIVE YET THE RPMS INCREASE THEN MAKING IT JUMP AND SHUDDER, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL YOUR SPEED WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE AT SLOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS AND BUCKS. THIS OCCURS IN ANY SITUATION WHERE THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED; AT STOP SIGNS, STOPLIGHTS, STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, WHILE TURNING, ETC..I HAVE HAD THIS 2016 VEHICLE FOR ONE WEEK AND THE DID CHECK SAFETY RECALLS FOR THE VIN. THERE WERE NO UNRESOLVED RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE. HOWEVER, I SEE THAT A RECALL CONCERNING THIS ISSUE WAS ISSUED FOR MY SAME YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR REPORTS.
WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, DRIVING DOWN A MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY AT APPROX. 40 MPH THE RPM REVVED UP TO 5 RPM AND WOULD NOT COME DOWN EVEN WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND PUTTING IT INTO PARK. I ALSO HAVE CONSTANT HESITATION WITH THE ENGINE WHEN STOPPING AT A LIGHT IN TOWN AND THEN MOVING FORWARD FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THE CAR JERKS AND THEIR IS DELAY TO GO WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A LIGHT. THE CAR WILL AT TIMES NOT GO INTO REVERSE WHEN TRYING TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. I HAVE FOUND THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE TO COMPLETELY PUT CAR IN PARK AND TURN THE CAR OFF, THEN RESTART THE CAR AND PUT IT INTO REVERSE BEFORE I CAN BACK IT OUT SUCCESSFULLY.
BOTH REAR DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLIES STOPPED WORKING WITHIN 1 WEEK OF EACH OTHER. DOORS APPEAR TO LOCK AND UNLOCK, HOWEVER THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE REGARDLESS OF UNLOCKED POSITION. READ MULTIPLE REPORTS OF OTHERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE, YET THERE IS NO RECALL. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS I HAVE CHILDREN AND CLIENTS IN MY VEHICLE CONSISTENTLY. I CAN'T IMAGINE THE CONSEQUENCES OF SUCH AN ISSUE HAD THERE BEEN AN ACCIDENT AND A CHILD WAS TRAPPED IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO CALL AROUND TO MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS IN ORDER TO HAVE MY VEHICLE DIAGNOSED SINCE MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP WAS SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS A MONTH OUT. I CALLED AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO CORPORATE HYUNDAI AND IT WAS DISMISSED WITHOUT MUCH CONCERN. PURCHASED 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON ECO FROM A USED CAR DEALER. CARFAX REPORTED NO OPEN RECALLS. CONCERNED WITH HESITATION WHEN PRESSING GAS WHEN IN A STOPPED POSITION TO MOVING AT STOP SIGN OR STOPLIGHT . RECALL 149, BUT THIS VIN IS NOT SHOWING A RECALL.
VEHICLE DELAY TO ACCELERATE. RPMS GO UP TO 5000 BEFORE ACCELERATION KICKS IN. ALSO LAG TIME FROM STOP TO 20 MILES PER HOUR IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC IT WOULD LUNGE FORWARD. ALSO WITH ACCELERATING ON A HILL IT WOULD ROLL BACKWARDS BEFORE GOING FORWARD CAPTURING GAS. I HAVE SEEN OTHER REPORTS ON THIS VEHICLE WITH SAME ISSUES. IT IS VERY UNSAFE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TURBO WAS REPLACED I'M STILL WAITING FOR A FULL REPORT
THE CAR WHEN AT A STOP, YOU GO TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO TAKE OFF AND THERE IS A DELAY IN THE CAR ACTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGING AND TAKING OFF TO ACCELERATE. IT HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES PERIODICALLY AND IT IS NOW BECOMING MORE FREQUENT
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
MY 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON STUMBLES A LOT UPON ACCELERATION FROM A STAND STILL. SOMETIMES WHILE MAKING A TURN. A FEW TIMES IT PUT MY DAUGHTER IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. HESITATING WHILE ACCELERATION THOUGH AN INTERSECTION. IT IS VERY FRIGHTENING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TWICE. ONCE IN JULY 2019 THEN AGAIN IN OCTOBER 2019. THE FIRST TIME THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HESITATE AND STUMBLE UPON ACCELERATION. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD RESET THE COMPUTER ON THE CAR IN HOPES THAT IT WILL FIX THE ISSUE. THEN THE SECOND TIME THEY TOLD ME IT MAY BE MY AIR FILTER AND OR MY FUEL INJECTORS NEED CLEANING. I DECLINED BOTH BECAUSE THE DEALER WHO I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM JUST HAD THEM CLEANED AND AIR FILTER WAS ALMOST BRAND NEW. AFTER TRYING TO CONVINCE ME THAT SOMETHING ELSE COULD BE CAUSING THE CAR TO HESITATE HE FINALLY CONFESSED THAT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THAT ONE OTHER HYUNDAI CAR HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY HAD NO SOLUTION FOR THE FIX. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THEY WERE WAITING ON HYUNDAI TO COME UP WITH A FIX. IN THE MEAN TIME MY DAUGHTER, WHO I BOUGHT THE CAR FOR, CONTINUES TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL HYUNDAI RECALLS THE CAR AND HAVE THIS PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF.
WHEN SLOWING DOWN THE CAR SHAKES WHEN I STEP ON BREAK AND IT SHAKES WHEN I STEP ON GO DURING DRIVING
THE DRIVER SIDE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE FAILING INTERMITTENTLY. HOWEVER THE BULBS ARE STILL WORKING. WHEN I SWITCH THE BRAKE LIGHTS BETWEEN THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT, THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS ON THE LEFT SIDE. HOWEVER THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY AND ALL THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE WORKING FOR A WHILE. I HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT A PATTERN TO HOW LONG THEY WORK TO HOW LONG THEY DON'T WORK. THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE SWITCH SINCE 2 OUT OF 3 LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS WORKING. IT IS NOT A LIGHT BULB PROBLEM BECAUSE THE FAILURE DID NOT FOLLOW THE BULB AFTER SWITCHING THEM.
I'VE OWNED MY 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON FOR LESS THEN 1 MONTH NOW. ON 3 OCCASSIONS AFTER COMING TO A STOP AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE GAS PEDAL SEEMS TO FAIL. MY RPMS GO UP BUT THE VEHICLE DOESN'T ACCELERATE UNTIL PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL 3 TIMES OR MORE VERY HARD. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 30K MILES ON IT. I WILL BE BRINGING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING AND ON COMING TRAFFIC IS COMING BUT THE VEHICLE WON'T MOVE. THIS COULD POTENTIALLY KILL ME IF STRUCK WHILE MERGING ON TO THE FREEWAY. I'M NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE AND FEAR FOR MY SAFETY. A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE OUT TO PULL THESE OFF THE ROADS!!
SINCE TAKING OWNERSHIP OF THE VEHICLE, I'VE EXPERIENCED CONCERNS WITH THE VEHICLE BUCKING WHEN MOVING AT SLOW SPEEDS SUCH AS IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC. THE CAR HESITATES TO DRIVE AFTER A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION AND MAKES A WINDING NOISE WHEN IT FINALLY DOES ACCELERATE. ONE INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I WAS IN THE DRIVE-THRU LANE AT MCDONALD'S AND THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND ALLOW THE CAR TO COOL DOWN FOR 30 MINUTES. ANOTHER INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN DRIVING IN A PARKING MALL STRUCTURE WITH AN INCLINED ROAD, THERE SEVERAL CARS BEHIND ME AND THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED, I HAD TO PULL OVER IN AN UNSAFE LOCATION PUTTING FAMILY AND ME IN DANGER BY VEHICLES PASSING BY IN A VERY NARROW LANE AND ALLOW THE VEHICLE TIME TO COOL OFF AGAIN. LAST WEEK WHILE AT A SHOPPING CENTER I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND IT JOLTED FORWARD ALMOST STRIKING A PEDESTRIAN. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER COUNTLESS TIMES (SERVICE RECORDS ARE ATTACHED). THE LAST DIAGNOSIS THERE WAS AN INTERNAL OIL LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION. THEY EVENTUALLY ENDED UP REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION WITH A REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION, BUT THE ISSUE IS STILL OCCURRING. I HAVE SINCE PARKED THE VEHICLE AS I REFUSE TO CONTINUE DRIVING AN UNSAFE CAR. I REACHED OUT TO HYUNDAI AND EXPRESSED MY CONCERNS, BUT NO RESOLUTION HAS BEEN REACHED. PLEASE PROVIDE SOME SUPPORT IN GETTING THIS MATTER RESOLVED.
BOUGHT CERTIFIED 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON TURBO LTD WITH ECO AND DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. I'VE HAD IT FOR 5 DAYS. I BOUGHT IT FOR MY SON AND DAUGHTER TO ATTEND HIGH SCHOOL. THE CAR KEPT ACTING LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL AT EVERY STOP, IT KEPT STUTTERING, AND WHEN YOU ARE ACCELERATING AND TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE PEDAL THE RPMS KEEP RISING, AND DOESN'T SWITCH GEARS. IT REFS AND RPM GOES UP BUT IT DOESN'T SWITCH GEARS UP OR DOWN SHIFT EITHER. THE ENGINE REVS HIGH AND WON'T SWITCH GEARS. IT'S LIKE IT WANTS TO ACCELERATE WHEN YOU WANT IT TO SLOW DOWN AND WHEN STOPPED IT WANTS TO STALL. TODAY IT HAPPENED. WE CAME TO A STOP SO WE COULD TURN LEFT ONTO AN ONRAMP ON HIGHWAY, (HAVE TO CROSS OVER OTHER LANE TO GO ON ON RAMP), AND IT STUTTERED AND STALLED ON OPPOSITE ONCOMING TRAFFIC SIDE, BEFORE WE COULD REACH THE RAMP. MY SON WAS DRIVING AND I WAS IN FRONT SEAT AND DAUGHTER WAS IN BACK SEAT, I GOT SCARED, AS YOU CAN'T SEE WHAT COMING OVER THE HILL ON SIDE WE STALLED (ONCOMING TRAFFIC). THE GUY SAW WE HAD STALLED AND RAN OUT AND STARTED WAVING SOMETHING DOWN. IT WAS AN ONCOMING SEMI. THANKFULLY HE WAS ABLE TO REDIRECT HIM OR WE WOULD HAVE BEEN STRUCK. WE GOT THE CAR STARTED AGAIN AND WERE ABLE TO GET HOME. I LOOKED UP WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND SAW THAT THERE WAS A MASS RECALL OF MY EXACT CAR MODEL, IN THE EXACT TIME FRAME OF VEHICLE BEING MADE. THE RECALL WAS FOR THE EXACT THINGS THAT ARE AND DID HAPPEN TO US. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND ASKED THEM WHY THEY NEVER DIVULGED THIS INFORMATION AND THEY SAID THE DIDN'T KNOW. I READ ON THE NHTSA SITE THAT MY EXACT SUV, MADE THE SAME DATE, HYUNDAI HAD RECALLED, BUT MINE FOR SOME REASON IS NOT. PROBLEM IS WHEN I PUT MY VIN IN, NOTHING COMES UP FOR A RECALL. I DON'T WANT TO PUT MY KIDS BACK IN THIS CAR. I JUST DROPPED $24,000 5 DAYS AGO IN A CAR LOAN. PLEASE HELP.
IT SHOCKS ME THE FATALITY RATE WITH THESE VEHICLES ISN'T THROUGH THE ROOF, I'VE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE SHOP 4 TIMES ALREADY AND HAVEN'T HAD IT 6 MONTHS YET, THE COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER WHEN YOU ACCELERATE IS DANGEROUS & I'M SURPRISED ACCIDENTS WHILE PULLING OUT INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC ISN'T EXTREMELY HIGH, BECAUSE THE LACK OF POWER,PULL, HESITATION & AT TIMES NEARLY CUTTING OFF IS GONNA GET SOMEONE HIT BY A SEMI AND THE ONLY THING EITHER OF THE HYUNDAI SERVICE DEPARTMENTS SAY IS "IT'S JUST THE DOUBLE CLUTCH 7 GEAR TRANSMISSION AND THAT'S NORMAL, WELL IF THE TRANSMISSION SKIPPING AND CAUSING STUDDERING HESITATION AND LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION WHEN TAKING OFF IS NORMAL THEN I DON'T KNOW HOW HYUNDAI IS STILL IN BUSINESS, IT'S AWFUL AND IT'S DANGEROUS. AND OMG IS IT EMBARRASSING PULLING THROUGH AND DRIVE THROUGH OR EASING UP TO A LIGHT OR SOMETHING, BECAUSE IT SPITS AND SPUTTERS AND JUMPS SO BADLY AND NEARLY CUTS OFF, BUT I'M TOLD BY GUYS IN THE SERVICE DEPT IT'S NORMAL BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION THAT'S IN IT!!
