WHEN PULLING OUT ONTO A ROAD FROM A STOP SIGN, MY CAR WILL BARELY ACCELERATE, AND THE RPMS WILL RACE FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHES INTO GEAR AND FINALLY MOVES. THIS HAS CAUSED SEVERAL NEAR ACCIDENTS (THANKFULLY, NO ACCIDENTS YET). THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME, BUT ENOUGH TO BE VERY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY WITH NEW DRIVERS IN MY HOUSE. I TALKED TO THE HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER, AND THEY ACTED LIKE THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH THING -- EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. THEY SAID TO BRING IT IN AND THEY COULD TRY TO DUPLICATE IT, BUT IN THE ABSENCE OF A "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT, THEY DOUBTED THEY WOULD FIND ANYTHING WRONG. ALSO, WHEN CREEPING ALONG IN TRAFFIC, THE CAR SHUDDERS LIKE IT WANTS TO STALL. IN EITHER SCENARIO, IT'S EMBARRASSING TO HAVE PASSENGERS IN THE CAR. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET RID OF THIS CAR.
POWER DOOR LOCKS/DOOR ACTUATORS STOP WORKING WHICH PREVENTS DOOR FROM OPENING FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE ON BOTH REAR DOORS AND FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. DOORS WOULD REMAIN LOCKED AFTER DRIVING MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE FOR ANY PASSENGERS.
ENGINE FAILER,HYUNDIA WANTS ENGINE RETURNED NOT ALLOWING DEALER TO DISASEMBLE ENGINE IN ORDER TO FIND OUT THE CAUSE.CAR REVS UP WHEN ECLERATING FAST IN TRAFFIC EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CAR WILL NOT MOVE UNTIL LETTING OFF ACCELERATOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT OPERATE IF THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ACTIVATED. THE BRAKE LIGHTS ONLY WORKED WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS WERE OFF. IN ADDITION, "BRAKE LIGHT OUT" APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY ON JUNE 20,2019 AND ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. RI STATE POLICE PUSHED VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST HYUNDAI DEALER IN RI. AS OF TODAY, JULY 23,2019, THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE DEALER WAITING FOR A REPLACEMENT ENGINE. ENGINE IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
While driving, the driver seat adjusted causing my seat to move up to the steering wheel. At the time I was on the expressway. I was too terrified to scream, I had to pull over to catch my breathe before I could continue driving to get home. I took my car to Hyundai and the service man stated that it didn't happen when he drove it and that they didn't find anything wrong. I filed a complaint before and never heard anything back. The car seat still adjusts. I don't drive it as much now.
The exhaust manifold and turbocharger assembly have cracked, causing exhaust gases—including carbon monoxide—to leak into the cabin. This issue was confirmed by diagnostic testing at Burns Hyundai. The defective component is still installed on the vehicle and has been inspected upon request, costing me over $200 without any suggested reimbursement after I already told them the problem before testing. The cracked exhaust manifold allows carbon monoxide to enter the vehicle’s interior, posing a serious risk of carbon monoxide poisoning to both the driver and passengers. Additionally, the vehicle’s engine performance has been negatively affected, which could lead to unexpected failures while driving. Yes. Burns Hyundai conducted diagnostic testing and confirmed the issue, identifying cracks in both the exhaust manifold and turbocharger assembly. Despite this confirmation, Hyundai corporate has refused to cover the repair under warranty. The vehicle has been inspected and diagnosed by a Hyundai dealership service center (Burns Hyundai), and the issue has been reported to Hyundai corporate for review. No inspections have been conducted by law enforcement or insurance representatives at this time. Yes. Prior to the diagnosis, I experienced engine performance issues, including reduced power and inefficiencies, which I reported to Burlington Hyundai in 2021, when the vehicle was still under warranty. At that time, the exact cause was not properly addressed. The problem has since worsened, leading to the recent discovery of the cracked manifold. No specific dashboard warning lights were illuminated for this issue.
THE TRANSMITTION FAIL AND DOING A HITS IN LOW VELOCITY OTHER STING IS WHEN I TAKE A UP HILLS AND STOP THE SUV, IT GO BACK QUICKLY AND IS VERY DANGEROUS, BECAUSE THE SUV CAN,T HOLD IN STAND BY UNTIL STAR THE TRIP
FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW WENT DOWN AND WON'T GO UP. WINDOW MOTOR IS WORKING BUT WINDOW WON'T GO UP.
THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED; THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKED WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK BUT WHEN THE PASSENGERS TRIED TO LEAVE THROUGH THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IT WOULD NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE. I TRIED OPENING THE HANDLE FROM OUTSIDE THINKING IT WAS CHILD LOCKS BUT THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN THAT WAY EITHER. BOTH HANDLES MOVE BUT NOTHING HAPPENS, AND I HAVE MADE SURE THE LOCK IS FULLY UNLOCKED. MECHANIC SAYS IT IS POWER LOCK ACTUATOR. THERE IS NO WAY FOR ME TO OPEN THIS DOOR WITHOUT SPECIFIC TOOLS. NOTHING HAS HIT THE DOOR INSIDE OR OUTSIDE.
RIGHT DOOR ARE NOT WORKING FROM IN OR OUT SIDE FRONT AND BACK
VEHICLE HAS THE 1.6 LITER TURBO ENGINE W/ DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. FROM A STOP THE VEHICLE HESITATES TO ACCELERATE AND THEN TAKES OFF. TRIED BEING MORE AGGRESSIVE ON GAS PEDAL BUT STILL HESITATES, THEN IT REALLY SHOOTS OFF. VEHICLE HAS 3 MODES OF DRIVING- NORMAL, ECO, SPORT. TRIED ALL 3 AND PROBLEM REMAINS. ALTHOUGH I CAN'T DUPLICATE/CONFIRM RESULTS IT SEEMS TO OPERATE [SLIGHTLY] BETTER IN LOWER TEMPS (50-70F DEGREES) VS HOT TEMPS (85-95F). DISCONCERTING OR DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, THE RPMS GO UP BUT THE VEHICLE DOESN'T MOVE. IT HAS HAPPENED FROM A DEAD STOP, AND ALSO WHEN ACCELERATING WHEN ALREADY MOVING, BOTH AT LOW RATES OF SPEED AND ON THE INTERSTATE.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR FAILURE TO OPEN FROM EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. VEHICLE DIAGNOSED FAULTY DOOR ACTUATOR AND REPAIRED AT DEALER FOR 500.00. FOUR MONTHS LATER THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE SHOWING EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS AS PREVIOUS DOOR. VEHICLE IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD.
EVEN AFTER REPROGRAMMING OF MY 2016 TUCSON DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION (DCT), I STILL WORRY ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE CAR. TRANSMISSION IS STILL HERKY-JERKEY WHEN CREEPING ALONG IN TRAFFIC. ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS AT HIGHER SPEED (SAY MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AT 50-70 MPH) THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SLOW TO CHANGE GEARS, AND ON AT LEAST ONE OCCASION THE TRANSMISSION TEMPORARILY WENT INTO A "NEUTRAL' STATE TEMPORARILY DISCONNECTED FROM POWER TRANSFER FROM THE ENGINE. IF THAT WERE TO HAPPEN SAY WHEN CROSSING TRAFFIC IT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HESITATION WAS NORMAL DUE TO THE DUAL CLUTCH THAT WAS INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.*DT

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO RAY SKILLMAN SOUTHSIDE HYUNDAI (1300 US-31, GREENWOOD, IN 46143, (317)886-9002) WHO REPLACED THE DOOR LATCH AND THE DOOR PANEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR ALSO EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALER WHO STATED THE SAME REPAIR WAS NEEDED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,977.
LIGHTS OF STOP DO NOT HAVE NORMAL FUNCTION. SOMETIMES, TURN ON AND MOST OF TIME, NOT.
YOU RANDOMLY GET NO RESPONSE WHEN ACCELERATING TO MOVE INTO TRAFFIC..LIKE IT'S NOT GETTING ANY GAS, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU CAN FEEL TRANSMISSION GOING INTO GEAR AS IT FINALLY CATCHES. WHEN IN SLOW, CRAWLING FREEWAY TRAFFIC, IT'S ALWAYS JERKING WHEN BARELY MOVING- AS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION DOES WHEN YOU DON'T GIVE IT ENOUGH GAS...FIRST TIME ISSUES HAPPENED WHEN I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN ON A 50MPH HIGHWAY AGAINST ONCOMING TRAFFIC FROM A STOP. THIS IS NOT A SOUND VEHICLE IN MY OPINION. YOU NEVER KNOW HOW LONG IT'S GOING TO TAKE TO MAKE TURNS INTO TRAFFIC OR JUST LEAVING A PARKING SPOT..YOU GET THE HERKY-JERKY UNTIL TRANSMISSION CATCHES. AND IT'S NOT ALL THE TIME, VERY RANDOM. FREEWAY DRIVING IS FINE SO FAR, WHICH IS WHAT MOST OF MY COMMUTE IS. BUT UNTIL REACHING FREEWAY SPEEDS, IT'S ALWAYS A WORRISOME DRIVE.
THE DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE AFTER YOU LOCK THE DOORS. YOU HAVE TO PULL THE HANDLE ANYWHERE FROM 5-10 TIMES TO GET TO OPEN OR NOT. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY PASSAGER IF THE CAR WAS INVOLVED IN A WRECK OR CAUGHT ON FIRE . THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP KWON ABOUT THE ISSUE.
WHEN I PUSH THE ACCELERATION FROM A COMPLETE STOP THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE. IT ALSO JERKS WHEN SLOWING DOWN FROM GEAR 2 TO 1.THIS HAPPENS A LOT ON THE CITY STREET OR WHEN IN TRAFFIC AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED WRECKS MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A MACHANIC AND THEY REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS AND COILS BUT THE VEHICLE IS STILL DOING THIS AND I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE IT IN FEAR OF A CRASH UNTIL FIND OUT IF THIS IS THE SAME RECALL FROM OTHER 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON TRANSMISSION ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MAYBE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM EITHER INSIDE OR OUT. THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO DOOR OR VEHICLE, THIS STARTED RANDOMLY OVER AN YEAR AND FINALLY WON'T OPEN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID ITS OUT OF WARRANTY BY 1,000 MILES AND IT WILL COST OVER $500 TO BE FIXED. THEY RECOMMEND CUTTING THE DOOR HANDLE OFF TO GAIN ACCESS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE LOOK INTO, THERE ARE MANY TUCSON OWNERS OF SEVERAL HYUNDAI FORUMS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. (UNABLE TO OPEN DOORS). I HAD BEEN A PROBLEM WITH MY TWO BACK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR WITH MY CAR. I CANNO OPEN MY CAR FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE.
BACK DRIVER PASSENGER DOOR IS NOT OPENING FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. IT'S UNLOCKED AND DON'T SEEM TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE LOCK AND UNLOCK BUTTON. ALL OTHER DOORS WORK. I JUST USED THE DOOR EARLIER TODAY WITH NO ISSUES AND NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES UNTIL THIS EVENING. NO VISUAL OBJECTS TO BE BLOCKING THE DOOR. WENT ONLINE TO CHECK FOR RECALL AND SEEMS MANY OWNERS ARE HAVING SAME ISSUES.
AT CERTAIN INSTANCES, THE VEHICLE WON'T MOVE FROM A COMPLETE STOP. I STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR AND VEHICLE IS NOT BUDGING MAKING ME WORRY THAT THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME WILL HIT ME. IF IT MOVES AT ALL, THERE IS A DRAG, THEN IT WILL SUDDENLY LUNGES FORWARD WHERE I ALMOST HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME.
Similar to the recall for Hyundai's newest vehicles with its dual clutch system, and to its recall for the 2016 Tucson my vehicle will be unresponsive when we accelerate, delayed or no acceleration, jerking, shuddering, shaking, and stalling. Not sure if this issue was covered under [XXX] et al, v. Hyundai Motor America. We had been complaining of the way my 2016 Hyundai Tucson ([XXX]) was driving since Apr 2019 (32,299 miles), and again Mar 2021 (44,857 miles), and on both instances we were told that was normal operation because of the car's dual clutch system. Now that the car has passed the warranty period (5 year/60,000 miles), Hyundai is telling us we have to replace the dual clutch, and that they're not covering it because the vehicle is now outside of the warranty period. MY VEHICLE SOMETIMES SEEMS TO NOT WON'T TO GO WHEN TAKING OFF.
PURCHASED A 2016 TUSCON WITH 35 MILES ON IT ON MAY 2016. WITHIN 3 MONTHS MY PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AFTER BEING UNLOCKED. THIS WAS CORRECTED AND HAD NO PROBLEMS. WITHIN THE LAST 2 MONTHS OF THIS YEAR, BOTH OF MY REAR DOORS ARE HAVING PROBLEMS, THE PASSENGER SIDE BUZZES WHEN THE LOCK , THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR (WHICH IS THE BIG ISSUE) HAS TOTALLY QUIT OPENING, IT UNLOCKS BUT WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUT. WHEN I TOLD THE SERVICE MAN AT THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP, HE SAID "THAT THEY SEE A LOT OF TUSCONS WITH DOOR ISSUES" AND THAT IT WILL NOT BE CHEAP. I STARTED LOOKING ON THE INTERNET AND THERE ARE PEOPLE COMPLAINING THAT THE DOORS JUST STOP WORKING AND THAT IT IS DUE TO BAD WORKMANSHIP ON HYUNDAI PART. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IF THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN AND THERE WAS A ISSUE THAT PASSENGERS NEEDED TO GET OUT IN A HURRY THEY COULD NOT.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH NO WARNING STARTED KNOCKING STALLED OUT
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN 2016. UNTIL NOW, THE ONLY ISSUE HAS BEEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. NOW, THE DOORS ARE NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. IN MARCH 2019, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR STOPPED OPENING FROM THE OUTSIDE. IT WOULD UNLOCK/LOCK, BUT THE OUTSIDE HANDLE WOULD NOT OPERATE AND OPEN THE DOOR THE INSIDE HANDLE DID OPERATE. HYUNDAI REPAIRED/REPLACED THE PART UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR $50. IN APRIL 2019, THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR FAILED. THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT OPERATE FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THE DEALER TRIED TO MAKE ME WAIT WKS FROM AN APPT, BUT THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE WITH PASSENGERS/CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. WHAT IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT? I INQUIRED ABOUT RECALLS, ESPECIALLY WITH PASSENGERS NOT BEING ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR, BUT WAS SHUT DOWN BY THE MECHANIC. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH SUGGESTS I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS ISSUE.
MY 2016 TUCSON HAS 58500 MILES ON IT. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL RECENTLY, IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THE CAR BUCKS AND FEELS LIKE IT WILL STALL, THAT I COULD DEAL WITH HOWEVER, IT ALSO BECAME UNRELIABLE WHEN I WAS TAKING OFF FROM A RED LIGHT, STOP SIGH ETC. I WOULD STEP ON THE GAS AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD I HAVE LOST COUNT HOW MANY TIMES IT HAS DONE THIS SINCE THE END OF MARCH. I CAN TELL YOU I NARROWLY AVOIDED BEING HIT AT LEAST 3 TIMES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. I HAVE BROUGHT IT INTO MY HYUNDAI DEALER AND THE FIRST TIME THEY TOLD ME THEY NEEDED TO DUPLICATE WHAT I WAS TELLING THEM. AFTER A FEW HOURS I GOT A CALL AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE, SO THEY CHECKED FOR ANY DIAGNOSTIC ISSUES FOUND NONE SO TO "KEEP ME HAPPY" THEY DID A DUAL CLUTCH RELEARN. I TOOK THE CAR HOME AND REALLY NOTICED VERY LITTLE DIFFERENCE THEN WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS IT STARTED REPEATING THE BUCKING AND NOT MOVING FORWARD FROM A COMPLETE STOP NO MATTER HOW FAR DOWN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO HYUNDAI AND FOR THE LAST 2 DAYS THEY SAY THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I AM DUE TO PICK UP MY CAR FROM THEM TOMORROW AND THEY WILL HAVE DONE NOTHING EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW I AM A LOYAL CUSTOMER AND HAVE NEVER HAD A COMPLAINT PRIOR TO THIS, AND EVEN THOUGH THEY TOLD ME THERE ARE KNOWN ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AND WHAT I AM DESCRIBING. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR ESPECIALLY WITH MY 8-YEAR-OLD GRANDSON WITH ME (I DRIVE HIM EVERY DAY TO SPECIALISTS).
I PURCHASED MY 2016 TUCSON NEW IN MARCH 2016 IT CURRENTLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 58,500 MILES ON IT. I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER FOR ALL OIL CHANGES AND REGULAR MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL RECENTLY, IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THE CAR BUCKS AND FEELS LIKE IT WILL STALL, MORE THAN IT USED TO SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. THE FIRST TIME I TOOK MY CAR TO KEY HYUNDAI THEY TOLD ME THEY NEEDED TO DUPLICATE WHAT I WAS TELLING THEM. AFTER A FEW HOURS I GOT A CALL AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE, SO THEY CHECKED FOR ANY DIAGNOSTIC ISSUES FOUND NONE SO TO "KEEP ME HAPPY" THEY DID A DUAL CLUTCH RELEARN. I TOOK THE CAR HOME AND REALLY NOTICED VERY LITTLE DIFFERENCE. THEN WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS IT STARTED REPEATING THE HARD BUCKING AND AGAIN THERE WERE A FEW TIMES THAT AFTER I STOPPED TO WAIT FOR TRAFFIC OR A GREEN LIGHT I WOULD STEP ON THE GAS AND GO NOWHERE NO MATTER HOW FAR DOWN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL UNTIL ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT WOULD MOVE FORWARD. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO HYUNDAI ON MAY 6, 2019 AND FOR THE LAST 10 DAYS THEY SAY THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I AM DUE TO PICK UP MY CAR FROM THEM TOMORROW AND THEY WILL HAVE DONE NOTHING EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW I AM A LOYAL CUSTOMER AND HAVE NEVER HAD A COMPLAINT PRIOR TO THIS, AND EVEN THOUGH THEY TOLD ME THERE ARE KNOWN ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AND WHAT I AM DESCRIBING AND THAT IS BECAUSE WHEN THEY CALLED HYUNDAI THEY WERE TOLD THAT THEY MUST DUPLICATE THE ISSUE OR NO REPAIR. THAT NOW LEAVES MY SAFETY IN QUESTION WHEN DRIVING MY CAR.
I GO TO START MY CAR IN THE MORNING AND IT IS MAKING A LOUD TAPPING NOISE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY. BUT AS IT WARMED UP IT WENT AWAY SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE TO WORK IT WAS FINE ALL DAY BUT I FIGURED I WOULD LET THE DEALERSHIP TAKE A LOOK AT IT SINCE IT'S WASNT A PLEASANT NOISE. I DROP THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEY SAID THE OIL IS EXTREMELY LOW (I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR ABOUT A MONTH) I HAD BOUGHT IT FROM A DEALERSHIP SO I ASSUMES ALL THE FLUIDS WOULD BE FINE UNTIL I NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. WELL THEY CONTINUED WITH THE OIL CHANGE AND FOUND METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL PAN THEY THEN DROPPED THE OIL PAN AND FOUND METAL CHUNKS. THEY TOLD ME THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I THEN ASKED AROUND ABOUT WHY A VEHICLE THIS NEW WOULD NEED THE ENGINE REPLACED AND THEY SAID THAT HYUNDAI HAS A RECALL OUT FOR THOSE ENGINES THAT THEY TEND TO FAIL BUT I CAN NOT FIND ANYWHERE THAT MY VEHICLE HAS A RECALL. THIS HAS BEEN THE MOST INCONVENIENT PROCESS THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY CAR FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND DO NOT EVEN HAVE A ETA FOR WHEN THE ENGINE WILL COME IN.

I PURCHASED THE 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON IN OCTOBER 2015. THE FOLLOWING YEAR I NOTICED THAT SOMETIMES WHEN I'M STOPPED AND GO TO ACCELERATE, MY CAR WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN IT TAKES OFF. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN IT COMES TO PULLING OUT ONTO A BUSY STREET. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN OFTEN BUT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE YEARS. NOW LATELY, I HAVE BEEN GETTING 'CHECK BSD SYSTEM' WARNINGS. THIS HAPPENED ONCE ONE DAY AND THEN INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE. NOW MY CAR WILL GIVE THAT WARNING, ACTS LIKE IT SHUTS OFF, AND WONT GO ANYWHERE AND I'LL HAVE TO RESTART MY CAR. OR SOMETIMES IT WILL BE IN 2ND OR 3RD GEAR AND THAT WARNING WILL POP UP AND IMMEDIATELY SHIFT TO 0. AFTER THIS HAPPENS THERE ARE 5-6 WARNING LIGHTS THAT LIGHT UP ON THE DASH BOARD, INCLUDING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THIS HAS PROGRESSED OVER THE LAST 3 DAYS, ULTIMATELY MAKING MY CAR NOT DRIVABLE. I AM TAKING IT IN TOMORROW. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS I'VE BEEN IN 'DRIVE' AND EITHER STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR EVENING IN MOTION.

DUPONT HWY, DOVER, DE) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INDOOR LOCKING MECHANISM WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY BACK DOORS STARTED TO NOT OPEN INTERMITTENTLY. AND NOW NEITHER OF THEM WILL OPEN. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM AS I HAVE GRANDCHILDREN IN CARSEATS IN THE BACKSEAT AND IF ANYTHING WERE TO HAPPEN I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET THEM OUT. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE.
REAR DRIVER DOOR STOPPED OPENING FROM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE EVEN THOUGH THE HANDLE MOVES FREELY AND THE LOCKS ARE FUNCTIONING (CHILD SAFETY IS NOT ENGAGED). A FEW MONTHS AFTER THAT DOOR STOPPED WORKING THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FAILS TO OPEN 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 BUT LOCKS STILL FUNCTION. EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT THE DOORS WORK FINE AND THERE HAS BEEN NO TRAUMA TO THE VEHICLE.
'TAKATA RECALL' BOTH BACK DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE NOR BE OUTSIDE. INITIALLY STARTED WITH THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND WITHIN 2 WEEKS THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR WPULD NOT OPEN EITHER. WHEN I I HIT THE LOCK AND UNLOCK BUTTON FROM INSIDE THE CAR AND ON MY KEY FOB THE LOCKS MOVE, THEREFORE IT IS NOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE I FOUND THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND APPARENTLY THE 'CLIP' FALLS OF INSIDE THE DOOR PANEL THEREFORE THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. THIS IS TRULY A SAFETY ISSUE, SINCE IF MY CAR WERE TO CATCH ON FIRE OR WERE IN AN ACCIDENT AND I HAD A PASSENGERS IN THE BACKSEAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE! NOR AM I ABLE TO GET MY CHILD IN AND OUT OF THE BACKSEAT WITH THE CAR SEAT.
MY VEHICLE WAS RECALLED IN 2016, SHORTLY AFTER I LEASED IT, FOR A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. PRIOR TO MY RECALL APPOINTMENT, I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PRESSED THE GAS AND THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE. WHEN IT FINALLY DID, IT SURGED FORWARD INTO AN INTERSECTION. WHILE VERY SCARY, NO ONE WAS HURT. THE RECALL ISSUE WAS "ADDRESSED" BY THE DEALER. IN FEBRUARY 2019, THE CAR AGAIN HAD AN ISSUE WHERE IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, IT BACKED UP. I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND HIT THE GAS. NOT ONLY DID THE CAR FAIL TO ACCELERATE FORWARD BUT THE BRAKE WAS STUCK. WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR, IT REVERSED UNTIL IT HIT A DUMPSTER, BUSTING MY TAIL LIGHT AND PUTTING A DENT IN MY TRUNK. AGAIN, LUCKILY NO ONE WAS INJURED. IT IS WELL DOCUMENTED THAT THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL HAVE HAD THE ISSUE THAT I AM DESCRIBING. THERE HAVE BEEN SUITS UNDER THE LEMON LAW. MOREOVER, THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER HAVE BEEN LESS THAN HELPFUL. IT TOOK MULTIPLE CALLS TO GET A NATIONAL CASEWORKER ASSIGNED. WHEN I FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL, INWAS TOLD TO BRING IT TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. MY CAR HAS BEEN WITH THE DEALER FOR 5 DAYS WITH NO ANSWERS AND AND NO LOANER VEHICLE. AT THIS POINT I FEEL IT IS NECESSARY TO WRITE TO YOU TO TAKE ACTION. SAFETY SHOULD BE PARAMOUNT TO ANY CAR MANUFACTURER. IGNORING THE WELL-DOCUMENTED HISTORY OF THIS CAR'S SAFETY ISSUES, CANNOT BE TOLERATED. FAILURE TO ACT, AND WORSE, ATTEMPTS TO SOMEHOW PLACE ONUS ON THE LESSEE IS AN ETHICAL ISSUE AND AN ATTEMPT FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO SAVE FACE. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE. THE ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT AND CANNOT BE PREDICTED. ANY ATTEMPT TO PUT ME BACK IN A FAULTY VEHICLE TO COLLECT MY LAST 4 MONTHLY PAYMENTS IS A DISGUSTING DISPLAY OF A LACK OF CONCERN FOR DRIVER'S SAFETY.

THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR WILL OPEN FROM THE INSIDE BUT MUST BE PULLED 3 TIMES TO OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. ONCE THE DOOR HAS BEEN OPENED INITIALLY IT WILL CLOSE AND OPEN WITHOUT PROBLEM. AFTER THE LOCK HAS BEEN ENGAGED AND UNLOCKED AGAIN, THE DOOR HANDLE ON THE PASSENGER FRONT MUST BE PULLED 3 TIMES IN ORDER TO OPEN.
