ROUGH IDLE, ALSO WHILE STOPPED IN DRIVE ENGINE SEEMS TO RACE AND CAR FEELS AS IF DIDNT HAVE FOOT ON BRAKE IT WOULD RACE FOWARD
I PURCHASED THE CAR IN NOVEMBER 2015. I ALWAYS HAD A SLIGHT JERKING OF THE CAR WHILE IN TRAFFIC OR TAKING OFF FROM A STOP SIGN. I WOULD SAY TOWARDS THE END OF THE SUMMER OF 2016 IT GOT MUCH WORSE. TO THE POINT WHERE I'M TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT IN TRAFFIC. I COMMUTE ALMOST 40 MILES EACH WAY TO WORK EVERY DAY AND MY HEART IS IN MY THROAT EVERY TIME I'M BEHIND THE WHEEL IN TRAFFIC AFRAID I'M GOING TO GET REAR ENDED. HYUNDAI CAME OUT WITH THE RECALL ON THE DCT (DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION) THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAD MY CAR SERVICED FOR THE RECALL IN OCTOBER 2016 AND IT NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM. I BROUGHT IT IN TO GET SERVICED AGAIN ON APRIL 1, 2017 FOR THE SAME EXACT RECALL AND HERE I AM AGAIN STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE A INFANT AND I AM TERRIFIED TO HAVE MY FAMILY IN THIS CAR.
I THOUGHT I WAS IMAGINING THINGS. I WOULD BE STOPPED AT A LIGHT A STOP SIGN ETC. BUT WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE I WOULD'NT GO ANYWHERE. THIS HAS HAPPEN SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2015.
EVER SINCE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE WE HAVE EXPERIENCED HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP ON A CITY STREET. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING AN UNPTOTECTED LEFT TURN AND THE CAR WON'T PICK UP AND GO. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY MADE SOME ADJUSTMENT BUT I AM STILL HAVING THE PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN NORMAL AROUND TOWN TRAFFIC, WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS WHERE AN ALARM BEGAN SOUNDING, AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAYED "TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE IS HIGH! STOP". WE'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO HAVE THE DEALER INVESTIGATE, BUT THEY FIND NOTHING, CAN'T DUPLICATE IT, AND NO INDICATION THAT IT EVEN DISPLAYED THE WARNING. THEY SAID IT MIGHT BE RELATED TO THE CURRENT RECALL FOR THE DCT TRANSMISSION ON THE HYUNDAI TUCSON. I'VE CONTACTED HYUNDAI AND TRIED TO ASK IF THE DEALER MAY BE CORRECT, BUT THEY SAID THEY CAN ONLY REFER ME BACK TO THE DEALER. IT CAN BE DIFFICULT AND UNSAFE TO FIND A PLACE TO "STOP SAFELY" AT THE DROP OF A HAT AS IT DEMANDS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED AT THE HAZLETON HYUNDAI DEALER PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V628000 (POWER TRAIN, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE WAS NEVER CORRECTED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I PURCHESED MY NEW 2016 HYUNDAI TUSCON TURBO IN FEB. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN SLUGGISH ON ACCELARTION AND AT TIMES WON'T MOVE AT ALL AFTER A STOP. IT HAS HAD NUMEROUS "UPDATES" FOR THE TRANSMISION WITH NO SUCCESS. AT TIMES IT WILL ROLL BACKWARDS WHEN IN DRIVE AS IF IT IS IN NEUTRAL WHILE AT DRIVE THRUS OR ON AN INCLINE . IT REMAINED IN THE SHOP FOR ONE OF THE TIMES FOR MORE THAN 30 DAYS. A HYUNDAI ENGINEER HAS INSPECTED MY CAR AND SAYS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG IT. ALL OF THE ISSUES I HAVE HAD ARE NOT NORMAL, AND THEY AGREE BUT STATE THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE SERVICE DEPT HAVE DRIVEN MY CAR AND AGREE THAT IT STILL HAS THE HESITATION, BUT SAY THEIR HANDS ARE TIED UNTIL HYUNDAI HAS A SOLUTION. IT DOESN'T THROW A CODE ON ANY OF THE ISSUES. IT HAS EVEN DIED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP REPEATEDLY FOR THE SAME ISSUES. NOW, THIS LAST TIME, I AM GETTING A BATTERY DISCHARGE WARNING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. IT IS NOW BACK IN THE SHOP FOR THAT ISSUE ALONG WITH THE SAME SLUGGISH DELAYED ACCELEARTION. I AM 100% UNHAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE. I SEE WHERE HUNDAI IS MAKING A RECALL, BUT I AM UNSURE IF THIS NEW UPDATE IS ANY DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER TWO MY SUV HAS ALREADY HAD. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND CERTAINLY HAS MAJOR ISSUES.

VEHICLE CONTNUES UNDER IN MOTION CITY STREEET DRIVING CONDITIONS CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO NOT MOVE IF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS PRESSED AND RELEASED REPEATEDLY.EXACTLY AS RECALLED FOR OTHER 2016 TUSCON BUT THIS DOES NOT MATCH VIN DATABASE. DEALER DENIES THERE IS A PROBLEM AND STATES THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN WRONG QUOTING THE DRIVERS HAND BOOK WHICH BASICALLY SAYS THE VEHICLE NOT USABLE IN STOP AND GO CONDITIONS.THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF SIMULAR COMPLAINTS OF 2016 TUSCON THAT DID NOT FIT IN VIN NHTSA OR HYUNDAI DATABASE, OR CONTINUED TO HAVE SAME PROBLEM AFTER RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED OR DEALERS DENYING THERE WAS ANY RECALL.
TRANSMISSION IF FAULTY. GEARS DO NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. WHEN STOPPED, THE CAR DOESN'T WANT TO ACCELERATE NORMALLY. CAR STALLS OR JUMPS AT RANDOM TIMES - USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS - DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. HAVE HAD RECALL COMPUTER FIX COMPLETED AT DEALER - DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. ISSUE WITH THIS EVERY DAY.

PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASE. BROUGHT CAT BACK TO DEALER FOR REPAIR 4 TIMES, BUT PROBLEMS STILL REMAIN. PRIOR TO LAST SOFTWARE UPGRADE, CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING, WOULD JERK WITHOUT WARNING, SLOW GOING UP HILL, WOULD ROLL BACK, AND WOULD STOP AND THEN PROPEL FORWARD. ONCE LAST RECALL (3) DONE, THE CAR STILL IN NOT DRIVING APPROPRIATELY. CAR RUNS ROUGH, STILL JERKS, STILL SLOW TO GO UP HILL AND STILL INTERMITTENTLY STOPS. TRANSMISSION WARNING (OVER HEATED) CAME ON, YET THE COMPUTER DID NOT MAKE NOTE OF IT WHEN READ FOR PROBLEMS AS IF IT NEVER HAPPENED. CAR IS UNSAFE, IS NOT DRIVING AS EXPECTED NOR AS IT SHOULD. GAS MILEAGE IS ALSO VERY LOW, CONSIDERABLY LOWER THAN WHAT WAS PROMISED UPON PURCHASE.
THE DUAL CLUTCH MANUAL TRANSMISSION "FREEZES" IN NEUTRAL EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS IN DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WON'T MOVE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT HAPPENS SPORADICALLY. THE ENGINE IS ALSO VERY BALKY AND SLUGGISH ON ACCELERATION.
WHEN BEGINNING TO TAKE OFF FROM A STOP, THE CAR ENGINE WILL REV UP BUT THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR WILL JERK FORWARD. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL TAKE OFF. I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR IT'S FIRST SERVICE AND COMPLAINED ABOUT IT. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME I JUST NEEDED TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE IT. THE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BUT WAS JUST VERY ANNOYING TO DRIVE UNTIL RECENTLY. THE OTHER DAY I TRIED TO CROSS A MAIN HIGHWAY. THERE WAS A CAR COMING BUT NORMALLY I WOULD HAVE HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO CROSS SAFELY. THE CAR REVVED UP BUT WOULD NOT MOVE. I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR ENGINE REVVED WAY UP AND THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY CAUGHT UP. THE CAR TOOK OFF VERY ABRUPTLY. BY THIS TIME THE APPROACHING CAR WAS TOO CLOSE AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TRIED TO CROSS. I HAVE NOT LOGGED ANY OF THE INSTANCES YET BUT WILL BEGIN DOING SO NOW. THERE WAS ANOTHER INSTANCE THAT COMES TO MIND. I WAS PARKED FACING DOWNHILL IN A CHURCH PARKING LOT. THERE WAS A PARKED CAR FACING ME DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN I STARTED TO BACK OUT OF THE SPOT, THE CAR REVVED UP AND IT BEGAN ROLLING FORWARD TOWARDS THE OTHER PARKED CAR. THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY CAUGHT UP AND THE CAR LURCHED BACKWARDS. I HAVE NOTICED THE PROBLEM A LOT WHILE GOING THROUGH DRIVE THRU RESTAURANTS. NOT ONLY IS THE CAR DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, IT IS ALSO VERY ANNOYING TO DRIVE. AT THIS POINT THE SOLUTION I WOULD PREFER WOULD BE FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO GIVE ME MY DOWN PAYMENT BACK AND TAKE THE CAR BACK. I DO NOT WANT TO CONTINUE TO PAY HIGH PAYMENTS FOR A DANGEROUS CAR.
I bought my 2016 Tuscon brand new. Ever since I bought the vehicle, I've complained to the dealer about the transmission slipping. They have told me that this issue is common but there is nothing they can do. Now it seems to be getting worse so I decided to look up the problem and found out a recall notice was issued for some 2016 Tuscons but mine wasn't included. My Tuscon has the exact same problem as described in the recall issued by Hyundai. I"ve almost been in accidents because you press on the gas to go and it hesitates,l. What can I do? UPON RELEASING THE BRAKES AFTER A STOP, THE VEHICLE STARTS TO ROLL AND IMMEDIATELY STARTS JERKING VIOLENTLY WHILE APPLYING THE THROTTLE PART WAY. ON AN INCLINE, FLAT, OR DECLINE IT DOESN'T MATTER. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND PICKING UP SPEED IT SEEMS TO BE OKAY. IT JUST SEEMS TO OCCUR FROM A STOP OR VERY LOW SPEED.
WHILE DRIVING MY TUCSON 1.4 T 2016 MODEL, WHEN ACCELERATING CAR JUMPS AND WHEN YOU APPLY BREAKS TO COME TO A STOP....IT STARTS MAKING NOISE AND JUMPING AS IF ITS GOING TO STALL. SINCE LEASING IT MARCH 2016 BRAND NEW, THE DEALER CONTINUES TO CLAIM IT CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEMS. YET WHEN I GO ON SITES IN THE INTERNET THERE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS CAR. I AM AFRAID THAT A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WILL OCCUR AND I CANNOT GET ANYBODY TO FIX THE CAR. PLEASE HELP. I AM 72 YEARS OLD AND MY WIFE IS 57. WE HAVE TWO BABY GRANDCHILDREN 6 AND 7, AND MY SON IS 16. I READ AN ARTICLE STATING THE HYUNDAI TUCSON CONNECTS WITH CARPLAY. TURNS OUT ONLY THE EXPENSIVE MODELS DO. HYUNDAI INSTALLS A SMALL COMMUNICATION SCREEN ON THE ECO, WHICH IS THE MODEL I BOUGHT, THAT IS NOT EQUIPPED TO RECEIVE CARPLAY DATA. WHAT IS NEEDED TO ENABLE THE SAFETY FEATURE? WILL YOU REQUIRE HYUNDAI TO ENABLE THE CAR'S COMMUNICATION DEVICE; THAT IS, TO ENABLE CARPLAY OR TO REPLACE THE INSTALL WITH A RECEIVER AND SCREEN THAT WILL WORK?

BRAND NEW 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON LIMITED AWD EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS AT 350 MILE ODOMETER READING WITH DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION CAUSING 'FALSE NEUTRAL' WITH INABILITY TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP WHILE IN 'DRIVE' AND HESITATION, AND SHUDDERING WHEN IN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR. IN RANDOM OCCASIONS, ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP RESULTS IN THE VEHICLE RPMS INCREASING WITH NO MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP APPLIED A SOFTWARE FIX FOR THE DTC BASED ON A SAFETY RECALL WHICH RESOLVED THE 'FALSE NEUTRAL' ISSUE. HOWEVER, UNPREDICTABLE HESITATION AND SHUDDERING STILL PERSIST AT 3,000 MILES. VEHICLE ACCELERATION BEHAVES UNRELIABLY AND CAN BEST BE DESCRIBED AS INDICATIVE OF A 16 YEAR OLD LEARNING TO DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION FOR THE FIRST TIME. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES SMOOTHLY WITH NO ISSUE. OTHER TIMES THE VEHICLE HESITATES AND SHUDDERS AS IF THE VEHICLE WERE ATTEMPTING TO START IN 2ND GEAR WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND THE VEHICLE WANTS TO STALL, AND THEN SLOWLY ACCELERATES. STILL OTHER TIMES THE VEHICLE HESITATES WITH NO MOVEMENT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS DEPRESSED AND THEN JUMPS FORWARD AS IF 'POPPING THE CLUTCH' AND THEN ACCELERATES VERY AGGRESSIVELY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY (SEPT 22, 2016) AND THEY WERE ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE BEHAVIOR AND INFORMED ME THAT IS THE 'NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS OF A DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION.' THE PROBLEM WITH THIS TRANSMISSION IS THE LACK OF CONFIDENCE WHEN NEEDING TO PULL OUT IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC. AT ALL TIMES YOU MUST GIVE YOURSELF A MINIMUM OF 2 SECONDS DISTANCE BEFORE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE YOU SIMPLY DO NOT KNOW IF THE TRANSMISSION WILL RELIABLY ENGAGE AND THE VEHICLE WILL PREDICTABLY ACCELERATE. I SHOULD NOTE THAT ONCE THE VEHICLE IS PAST 10-15 MPH, IT ACCELERATES AND PERFORMS RELIABLY AND THE TRANSMISSION IS RESPONSIVE.
WHEN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL THE TRUCK DOESN'T MOVE OR SOMETIMES HESITATES A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. IF SOMETIMES THE CAR MOVES AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T YOU CANT JUDGE TO SAFELY SWITCH LANES, MERGE ON TO HIGH SPEED HIGHWAYS, TURN ETC. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CAR AND IT HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN. HYUNDAI BLAMES IT ON THE "SPECIALIZED ECO TRANSMISSION" THIS CAR IS A DEATH TRAP. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AUG 2016.
WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP AT AT A SLOW SPEED THIS CAR HAS EXTREME LAG. SOMETIMES IT CAN TAKE UP TO 3 SECONDS FOR THE ENGINE TO RESPOND AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR JUMPS AND ACCELERATES TOO QUICKLY. EXTREMELY UNSAFE! I PURCHASED THE CAR 7/29/2016 AND I HAVE HAD THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM SINCE THEN. THE FIRST 4 TIMES I HAD THE CAR IN THEY UPDATED THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE. ON ONE OCCASION THERE HAD BEEN AN ACTUAL RECALL, HOWEVER IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. ON THE LAST TIME I HAD THE CAR IN, I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER TO RIDE WITH ME. THE CAR DID HESITATE, JERK COMING OUT OF A STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND HE TOLD ME THAT WAS HOW THE TRANSMISSION WAS SUPPOSED TO ACT AND THAT I NEEDED TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE THE CAR. IT WOULD PREFORM BETTER IN THE SPORT MODE. THE CAR CONTINUES TO REPEAT THE SAME HESITATION ON AN ALMOST DAILY BASIS. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, FROM TIME TO TIME THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. I CAN TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND IT WILL INCREASE RPM BUT NOT ROLL. I PRESS THE GAS AND IT WILL INCREASE RPM BUT NOT ROLL. IT WILL NOT ROLL FORWARD UNTIL SIGNIFICANT GAS IS APPLIED AND RPMS ARE VERY HIGH. THE CAR STARTED DOING THIS AT ABOUT 4500 MILES. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 2 DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE IT FIXED. THEY DO A "SOFTWARE UPDATE" BUT THIS DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. IN AUGUST 2016 I PURCHASED A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON LIMITED. SINCE DAY ONE, WHILE IN TRAFFIC THE VEHICLE WILL BEGIN TO SHUDDER UNTIL NEAR STALL. THE SHUDDERING OCCURS WHEN EITHER ROLLING FORWARD, ACCELERATING THE GAS, OR SITTING IDLE, AS A RESULT MY CAR DOES NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATION AT ALL TIMES. DURING MY FIRST MONTH OF OWNERSHIP THE DEALER DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY DANGEROUS, MY WIFE'S IS THE PRIMARY DRIVER AND SHE IS RELUCTANT TO DRIVE IT FOR FEAR THAT SHE WILL BE INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES AND GET NO REAL ANSWERS EXCEPT THAT THE CAR CHECKS OUT FINE AND THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. THEY DO, HOWEVER, ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE PROBLEM IS A DESIGN ISSUE IN THE TRANSMISSION. THIS PROBLEM PERSISTS NO MATTER WHAT DRIVE MODE I AM IN. I HAVE TRIED TURNING OFF THE AC BUT THAT HAS NO AFFECT. I HAD ONE INSTANCE WHERE, WHILE MOVING FROM STOP TO MAKE A LEFT TURN IN AN INTERSECTION, THE CAR STUMBLED AND STALLED IN THE INTERSECTION AND WE NARROWLY MISSED BEING HIT BY THE CAR BEHIND ME. WE HELP WITH TRANSPORTATION FOR THE GRANDKIDS AND WE CANNOT DRIVE THE 10 YEAR OLD IN THIS CAR, SHE GETS CAR SICK FROM THE SHUDDERING/HESITATION. AS A RESULT, WE HAVE TO SUBSTITUTE ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE DAYS WE DRIVE HER.
AFTER COMING TO A STOP, THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD WHEN IN DRIVE. THE ENGINE REVS HOWEVER THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. THIS HAS OCCURRED MORE THAN 6 TIMES. I HAVE HAD REPAIRED BY DEALER TWO TIMES AND PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. THIS LAST INCIDENT TOOK OVER 15 MINUTES BEFORE I COULD GET THE CAR TO MOVE. FORWARD AND WAS STUCK ON A MAJOR 4 LANE ROAD. I TRIED TURNING CAR OFF, MOVING TO NEUTRAL AND BACK TO DRIVE, PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, AND THEN TRY DRIVE AGAIN. NOTHING CORRECTED THE SITUATION. FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MOVE CAR A FEW JERKY FEET AND THEN CONTINUE TO REV ENGINE UNTIL CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE. THE CAR DID MOVE IN REVERSE. CAR DID STOP IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION ONCE AND JUST STARTING GOING IN TIME TO JUST MISSED BEING T-BONED BY DUMP TRUCK. HAVE MAJOR CONCERNS THAT COULD BE INVOLVED IN HORRIFIC ACCIDENT BECAUSE DON'T KNOW WHEN THIS ISSUE WILL ARRIVE AGAIN. THE CAR IS EIGHT MONTHS OLD.
THE AIR CONDITIONING WILL QUIT WORKING AND JUST BLOW WARM AIR. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 5 TIMES. USUALLY JUST TURNING THE SYSTEM OFF AND THEN BACK ON AFTER A FEW SECONDS WILL RESTART THE SYSTEM. ONE TIME OVER THE TIME OF THREE HOURS THE SYSTEM WOULD GO OFF AND NOT RESTART AFTER 30 MINUTES.

THE DCT TRANSMISSION HESITATES NOTICEABLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM DEAD STOP. VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 2,700 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE MAIN INCIDENT DESCRIBED BELOW (WE NOTICED HESITATION IN STARTING FROM DEAD STOP RIGHT FROM TIME OF PURCHASE AND QUESTIONED THE SALES PERSON. HE STATED THAT WAS DUE THE DCT AND WE NEEDED TO GET USED TO DRIVING THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE). I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN APRIL & ONLY HAD 2400 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS HAPPENED! I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO INVOLVE EVERY GOVERNMENT AGENCY THAT HANDLES SAFETY AND ANY FORM OF MEDIA TO LET THEM KNOW THAT THEY WILL NOT BE SAFE IN VEHICLES PRODUCED BY THIS COMPANY BASED ON THE HANDLING OF MY CASE. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS AT STOP SIGNS, WHEN STOPPED IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC OR WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN. THERE IS NO WARNING IT JUST HAPPENS. USUALLY THE RPM GOES AS HIGH AS 4000 TO 5000 WITH NO MOVEMENT. IT CAN TAKE AS LONG AS 3 MINUTES BEFORE IT DECIDES TO MOVE FORWARD AT A REDUCED SPEED. THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO LURCHED AND BEHAVED ERRATICALLY AFTER SOME OF THE SLOW GOES. THESE PROBLEMS STARTED WITH LESS THAN 1000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD ONE INSTANCE OF A NO GO AND WHERE IT REFUSED TO MOVE FORWARD AT ALL. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY PREFORMED A RELEARN ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE PROBLEMS CAME BACK AFTER A MONTH. AFTER THE LATEST INCIDENT, MY DEALER CLAIMED MY VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY HAD ME DROP IT OFF. IT HAS BEEN SITTING THERE AND THEY HAVE PUT ME INTO A LOANER CAR UNTIL HYUNDAI COMES UP WITH A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM.
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 8/6/16 BUT THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO LOCATED THE VEHICLE WITH OUR SPECIFICATIONS AND GET IT FROM ANOTHER DEALER. WE TEST DROVE A SIMILAR TUCSON AND WHILE WE DROVE THE TEST VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. THEN THE RPM'S WHERE GOING CRAZY AND IT FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. IT HAD 5,000 MI. ON IT AND THE SALESMAN HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE SERVICE DEPT. WE ASKED IF THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE, HE ASSURED US IT WASN'T AND PLAYED IT OFF. SADLY, WE DID END UP PURCHASING ANOTHER TUCSON 2016 WITH 356 MI. ON IT ON 8/8/2016. I HAVE ALREADY HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT. 1ST) TRYING TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, WOULD NOT GO. 2ND) LEAVING A PARKING SPACE IT WOULD NOT GO FORWARD. 3RD) DRIVING IN A PARKING GARAGE UPHILL AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND COULDN'T GO UP THE RAMP PROPERLY. I TRIED TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE AUTOMAX DEALERSHIP IN NORMAN, OK AND THEY WOULD NOT TAKE IT BACK AFTER 3 DAYS AND THEY KNOWINGLY SOLD ME AND UNSAFE AND DEFECTIVE VEHICLE!!! I HAVEN'T EVEN USED A HALF TANK OF GAS. I DID TELL THEM TO STOP THE PAPERWORK ON IT AND NOW WE ARE DEALING WITH HYUNDAI HEADQUARTERS. I AM CURRENTLY DRIVING A RENTAL CAR AND MY BRAND NEW UNSAFE AND DEFECTIVE HYUNDAI TUCSON 2016 IS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY!!!! HYUNDAI NEEDS TO TAKE THESE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD BEFORE ANYONE DIES!!! THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION ASAP!!!!!!
I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN DECEMBER AND THIS PROBLEM STARTED AWHILE AGO. WHEN AT A STOP ITS LIKE THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL AND RPM'S REV BUT NO ACCELERATION. IT IS VERY SCARY TO BE IN TRAFFIC AND YOUR CAR HAS NO POWER. I PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE HOPING THE CAR WILL ACCELERATE. FINALLY WHEN IT DOES IT JERKS SUDDENLY AND THEN YOU HAVE TO BRAKE IN ORDER NOT TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU. DRIVING THIS CAR NOW MAKES ME VERY STRESSED AND I HOPE I WILL NOT GET REAR-ENDED OR WORSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT SWITCHED THE GEAR SHIFTER STICK INTO PARK, NEUTRAL, AND BACK INTO THE DRIVE POSITION BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A DELAYED RESPONSE WHEN ACCELERATING PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,550.
ON AUGUST 7, 2016 TRAVELING SOUTH ON I 44 JUST NORTH OF THE WILLIS EXIT TRAFFIC SLOWED DOWN I DECELERATED AND THEN IS TRAFFIC PICKED UP I PUSHED ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THERE WAS NO POWER TO THE TRANSMISSION. TOP SPEED WAS 20 MILES AN HOUR I LET OFF THE EXCELERATOR PUSHED AGAIN HAD SOME POWER BUT NOT FULL POWER. TWO CARS COMING UP BEHIND ME DOING 65 TO 75 MILES AN HOUR HAD TO DETOUR AROUND ME ONE ON THE RIGHT ONE ON THE LEFT. CHUCK WILLIS EXIT STOP AT STOP LIGHT PUSHED ON ACCELERATOR NO POWER. LET IT SIT FOR ONE HOUR THEN DROVE IT WITH NO APPARENT PROBLEM. ON AUGUST 8 RETURNING TO DALLAS PULLED OFF OF I 45 AT CORSICANA SLOWED DOWN FOR TWO TRUCKS ON THE SIDE OF THE ACCESS ROAD. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN IT WOULD GO 20 MILES AN HOUR. HAD CAR TOWED TO DALLAS TO VAN HYUNDAI. DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A COMPUTER CARD THEY HAD A CONFIRMED FIX. ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 ON JOSEY LANE IN CARROLLTON TEXAS I SLOW DOWN TO LET A CAR INTO MY LANE THEN TRIED TO ACCELERATE AN EXPERIENCED SAME PROBLEMS AS BEFORE. HAVING IT TOWED TO HELP FINES HON DAY IN PLANO TEXAS ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6.THE FIRST PROBLEM THE CAR HAD 10,635 MILES ON IT. THE THIRD EPISODE IT HAD 10,968 MILES ON IT.
