WE WERE STUCK IN A BACKUP, STOP AND GO TRAFFIC FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES, WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. I PUT THE GEAR SELECTOR IN PARK AND BACK INTO DRIVE, THE CAR WOULD NOT GO FORWARD. I HAD TO STEP ON THE GAS TO MAKE IT MOVE AND THEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WENT WARM. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES THE AIR CONDITIONER STARTED WORKING AGAIN. I HAVE TRIED TO CALL THE DEALER FOR THREE DAYS AND THEY HAVE NOT CALLED ME BACK, I THINK MY NEXT STEP IS TO CALL CORPORATE HYUNDAI TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THIS PROBLEM REALLY NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED, OTHERWISE THIS IS A GOOD CAR.
THIS HAS OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A STOP SIGN, TRAFFIC LIGHT OR TURN LANE, THE VEHICLE WILL, ON OCCASION, NOT MOVE FORWARD WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE ENGINE WILL REV HIGH, 5000 RPM BUT THE VEHICLE REMAINS STATIONARY FOR MULTIPLE SECONDS. ON ONE OCCASION THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF AND BACK ON BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD MOVE. ON ANOTHER OCCASION THE VEHICLE WAS REVVING VERY HIGH AND SUDDENLY ENGAGED WHILE LURCHING FORWARD UNCONTROLLABLY. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE. IT HAPPENS SPORADICALLY.
DCT TRANSMISSION HESITATES NOTICEABLE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM DEAD STOP. CAR HAS 13,000 MILES, PURCHASED NEW MY ME. I AM RETIRED AND ONLY DRIVER. DCT CLUTCHES DISENGAGE PERIODICALLY WHEN AT A DEAD STOP WILL NOT ENGAGE AGAIN ONCE BRAKE IS RELEASED AND START ACCELERATING, LIKE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL. YOU HAVE TO SET AND WAIT AND PUSH ACCELERATOR UP TO 3,000 RPM THEN LET OFF SOMETIME-CLUTCHES ENGAGE AND IT JUMPS FORWARD AND YOU HAVE TO HIT BRAKE QUICKLY OR WILL HAVE AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENS PERIODICALLY BUT NOT ROUTINELY ENOUGH FOR DEALER TO REPRODUCE. IT HAS ALMOST JUMPED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH ME SEVERAL TIMES. [XXX] SCARY TO DRIVE. ON JULY 25, 2016, TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR HOOD LATCH RECALL WITH 1332 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER, THEY PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THIS UPDATE CREATED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TOO ILLEGIBLE - THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS DEFECTED. THE PART WAS ORDERED AND IT WAS TO TAKE 30 DAYS TO BE DELIVERED. FORTUNATELY, IT TOOK 10 DAYS. PICKED UP THE VEHICLE ON 8/4/16 AFTER WORK, DROVE LESS THEN 1 MILE CAME TO A STOP LIGHT ONCE IT TURNED GREEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DRIVE. BEING IN THE CENTER LANE OF THE HIGHWAY WITH FLASHERS ON, ON COMING VEHICLES JUST MISSED SLAMMING INTO THE REAR. FINALLY GOT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY HAVE INDICATED IT IS THE DUAL CLUTCH ISSUE. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE SINCE YOU WOULD NOT KNOW WHEN IT WOULD JUST STOP SHIFTING AND DRIVING. HAVE REGISTERED A COMPLAINT WITH HYUNDAI MOTORS AS THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DOES NOT KNOW WHEN THE VEHICLE WILL BE REPAIRED. THANK THE LORD NO ONE WAS KILLED THIS TIME!
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE 2 MONTHS AGO AND ON 3 OCCASIONS WITHIN THE LAST WEEK WHEN I HAVE BEEN AT A COMPLETE STOP, I STEP ON THE GAS BUT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE, THE VEHICLE ROLLS BACK AND THE RPM'S JUST REV UP. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD THERE IS NO KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE POWER TRAIN OTHER THAN A SOFTWARE UPDATE. WAS TOLD OUR VEHICLE WAS ALREADY UPDATED AND NOT NEEDED. EXPLAINED WHAT WAS OCCURRING AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS NORMAL DUE TO THE ECO DUAL CLUTCH SYSTEM. I TOLD THE SERVICE PERSON THAT THE ENGINE REVING BUT ROLLING BACKWARDS IS NOT NORMAL AND I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AND WITHIN 2 BLOCKS IT HAPPENED AGAIN AT AN INTERSECTION WHERE I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT! WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR HYUNDAI TO FIX OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEM. EACH TIME THIS OCCURRED I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET (NOT FREEWAY, TOO AFRAID TO DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY WITH THIS ISSUE). VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN SLUGGISH WHEN ACCELERATING BUT THIS NEW ISSUE OF NOT ENGAGING AND ROLLING BACKWARDS IS JUST THE LAST FEW DAYS.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN MARCH OF 2016 WITH ABOUT 20 MILES ON IT. AFTER AROUND 1000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION STARTED GETTING HOT AND WOULD STALL OUT. I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FIVE TO SIX MINUTES FOR ME TO RESTART THE CAR. I HAVE SENT IT TO THE SERVICE CENTER TO BE CHECKED OUT AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR THIS TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU ARE IN TRAFFIC. I LIVE IN NEW JERSEY THATS THE NORM FOR US HERE. THIS HAS BEEN A CONSTANT HEADACHE. I EVEN STALLED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LINCOLN TUNNEL. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MORE THEN I CAN COUNT. I SPOKE TO HYUNDAI CARE CENTER AND THEY HAVE BRUSHED ME OVER TO REGION. NOW I AM WAITING FOR REGION TO CALL MY CASE NUMBER IS 9448240 AND I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE. ALSO WHEN YOU WANT TO GO TO THE NEXT LANE IT IS SLOW TO START. AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. IT REVES UP AND DON'T MOVE. THERE ARE SO MANY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. I'VE TAKEN PICTURES OF THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHTS AND TELLING ME TO PULL TO THE SIDE SAFELY. HOW CAN I DO THAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LINCOLN TUNNEL. I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM AND NOW I HAVE ABOUT 10000 MILES ON THE CAR. I AM AFRAID OF THIS CAR BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE IT CAUSE I NEED TO GO TO WORK. I NEED HELP HERE. THE DATE I PUT IN IS THE LAST INCIDENT. IT GOT HOT THEN STALLED I WAITED THE USUAL 5 TO 6 MINUTES THEN STARTED IT AGAIN I JUST DROVE A MILE AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I'M GETTING REALLY FRUSTRATED WITH A CAR THAT I AM SCARED OF.
I'VE HAD AN ISSUE WHERE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, MY CAR WON'T MOVE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO CROSS TRAFFIC AND I'VE ALMOST BEEN T-BONED. TWICE THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE AT ALL. I THOUGHT IT BROKE DOWN. I PUT ON FLASHERS, SHIFTED IT INTO PARK, THEN BACK IN DRIVE AND THE CAR STARTED TO GO, BUT VERY SLOWLY WITH THE TRANSMISSION REVVING UP VERY HIGH. THE CAR SEEMS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AS IT RESPONDS DIFFERENTLY TO THE ACCELERATOR ALMOST EVERY TIME. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS AFTER BEING STOPPED.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AROUND TOWN OR COMMUTING TO WORK THIS CAR HAS NOT RESPONDED WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. FROM A DEAD STOP OR WHEN MOVING SLOWLY THE RESPONSE IS UNPREDICTABLE. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY. THIS WEEK THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WHILE GOING UP AN INCLINE ON A COMMON CURVY NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ROAD. IT WAS A COOL EVENING. THIS IS A PAVED ROAD. NO OTHER CARS HAVING A PROBLEM. I HAD TO STOP THE CAR AND RESTART IT. THEN WHILE ACCELERATING THE CAR JUST STOPPED. NO POWER, NOTHING, DEAD IN THE ROAD. HAD TO WAIT AND RESTART. THIS IS VERY UNNERVING FOR ANY CAR AND FOR A BRAND NEW VEHICLE IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE TWO LITTLE KIDS. I WON'T DRIVE THEM ANYWHERE IN THIS CAR. IT'S NOT SAFE. I'VE DRIVEN MOTORCYCLES, MANUALS, AUTOMATICS ALL KINDS OF MAKES AND MODELS OVER THE YEARS. THE DEAD IN THE WATER FEELING IS THE SCARIEST, ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING A TURN FROM A STOP TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR HYUNDAI NEEDS TO BUY THESE CARS BACK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTAC WAS ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS UNSAFE. THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,400.
ACCELERATION ISSUES FROM STOP. ENGINE WILL GO TO HIGH RPM'S WITHOUT MOVING THE VEHICLE. ISSUES SEEN WITH VEHICLE LEAVING 1ST GEAR, VEHICLES ROLLS IN TO INTERSECTION AND LOSES POWER. VEHICLE HAS HARD SHIFT ISSUES AND OFTEN SEEMS TO BE "STUCK IN GEAR" FOR TOO LONG.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER SYSTEM NEEDED AN UPDATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,000.

I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT, BUT WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE CAR WOULDN'T GO FORWARD. INSTEAD THE ENGINE JUST REVVED AND RPMS WENT UP, BUT NO MOVEMENT FORWARD AND NO WARNING LIGHTS OR SOUNDS CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY FLIPPED ON MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO RESTART AND GO AGAIN, BUT TWO CARS CRASHED INTO EACH OTHER NEXT TO ME AS THEY TRIED TO GO AROUND ME. I SAT IN A PANIC IN TRAFFIC WITH PEOPLE HONKING AT ME AND FLIPPING ME OFF. THE CAR WOULDN'T DRIVE FORWARD, BUT IT WOULD GO IN REVERSE SO AS THE CARS CRASHED INTO EACH OTHER AND WERE COMING TOWARDS ME I DODGED GETTING HIT BY A FEW INCHES AND DROVE SLOWLY DOWN THE STREET IN REVERSE AND INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT IN REVERSE. THEN I PARKED AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALER. IN THE PARKING LOT I TOOK VIDEO EVIDENCE OF THE CAR NOT DRIVING FORWARD, BUT ABLE TO DRIVE IN REVERSE SO I DO HAVE VIDEO PROOF. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 5,500 MILES ON IT AND ALREADY HAD AN ECM RESET / ACTIVE TRANSMISSION RELEARN DONE AT ABOUT 1,000 MILES BACK IN JANUARY WHEN THE CAR WAS LAGGING THE FIRST MONTH I OWNED IT. MY CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP AND FOR A CORRECTION THEY DID ANOTHER ACTIVE TRANSMISSION RELEARN/PROGRAMMING RESET AND SAY THE CAR WORKS AND IS FINE NOW AND READY TO PICK UP. I'M NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING A CAR THAT'S BEEN IN TWICE FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND HAD THE SAME CORRECTION DONE. I DON'T FEEL CONFIDENT THIS WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN AND MOST ONLINE REPORTS I READ WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND CORRECTION SAY IT HAPPENS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HYUNDAI CUSTOMER CARE. I'VE ALSO READ THERE IS A PART THAT MAY BE REPLACED AS A FIX (FP NUMBER 41470-2D011 ACTUATOR ASSY-CLU) AND POSSIBLY A RECALL COMING UP, BUT THE DEALER SAID I NEED TO WAIT FOR THE RECALL. IT WOULD BE GOOD TO EXPEDITE ANY FIX AND REPAIRS BEFORE MORE ACCIDENTS HAPPEN, DRIVING THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE FOR ME OR OTHER CARS AROUND ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED ABNORMALLY AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED; HOWEVER, THERE WAS A HESITATION BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGED AND THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOUBLE CLUTCH IN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,659.
THIS SUV STALLS & HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STAND STILL, IN MOTION & ALL OTHER TIMES. CURRENTLY HAVE 4500 MILES ON IT, & THIS PROBLEM STARTED RIGHT AFTER I FIRST PURCHASED IT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. PUSH THE ACCELERATOR DOWN, IT REVS UP, BUT GOES NO WHERE.THE TRANSMISSION (DCT) IS NOT WORKING RIGHT, & THE RECALL TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE DID NOT FIX ANYTHING. PLEASE HYUNDAI FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS HAPPEN.
LEASED VEHICLE ON 7/18/16. NOTICED SLIGHT HESITATION DURING ACCELERATION SHORTLY AFTER TAKING POSSESSION OF VEHICLE. ON 7/28/16, I WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON FREEWAY GOING AROUND CURVE. TRAFFIC FINALLY PICKED UP SPEED. WHEN I RELEASED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND STEPPED ON THE GAS, THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE AND THE RPM'S WERE ALL OVER THE PLACE. I WAS PANICKING, FEARFUL THAT I WAS GOING TO BE REAR ENDED AT ANY MOMENT. I CONTINUED TO PRESS DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR, PRAYING THAT IT WOULDN'T ROCKET FORWARD. IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 25 SECONDS FOR THE VEHICLE TO MOVE AT ALL AND FINALLY KICK INTO GEAR. I AM TOTALLY TRAUMATIZED BY THIS SITUATION AND CANNOT EVEN FATHOM PUTTING MY FAMILY IN THIS VEHICLE.
VEHICLE WILL HESITATE WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. TRANSMISSION WILL ENGAGE AND DISENGAGE PERIODICALLY OWN ITS OWN AND RPM"S WILL REV. AFTER HESITATION CAR WILL SURGE FORWARD AND JERK YOUR NECK. I HAVE HAD TOO MANY CLOSE CALLS TO DRIVE THIS CAR ANYMORE. THE PROBLEMS HAPPEN RANDOMLY. HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR THIS. NOW THEY SAY THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET KILLED IN THIS CAR IF DRIVEN BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. I HAVE NOW SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM ONLINE.THESE PROBLEMS OCCUR WHEN MOTION ON ALL STREETS AND HIGHWAY. IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE IF THE VEHICLE IS IN NORMAL, ECO OR SPORT MODE. EVERY TIME THE DEALER HAS IT IT SEEMS TO FIX IT TEMPORALLY BUT THEN THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO RE-ACCRUE. I CAN NOT IMAGINE WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN THE ROADS GET BAD IN THE WINTER.
I WAS DRIVING MY HYUNDAI TUSCON LIMITED 2016 60 MPH IN AN OPEN AREA WHEN THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF EXPLODED SPONTANEOUSLY. IT SOUNDED AS IF A GUN HAD GONE OFF NEXT TO MY HEAD. I CLOSED MY EYES BECAUSE I SENSE SOMETHING FLYING. WHEN I OPENED MY EYES I WAS BEING SHOWERED BY GLASS AND HEARD A LOUD NOISE ABOVE MY HEAD. I HIT MY HAZARDS AND DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE ROADSIDE. I WAS DISTRAUGHT AND TRAUMATIZED. GLASS SHARDS UP TO ONE INCH IN SIZE WERE ALL OVER MY CAR. I WAS SO FORTUNATE NO ONE HAD BEEN IN MY BACK SEAT. I WAS PERSONALLY COVERED IN GLASS ALL DOWN MY BACK SINCE I LEANED FORWARD WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE DEALER AT FIRST SAID IT WAS AN INSURANCE ISSUE AND THEN ONLY FIXED IT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE OUR DRIVING SCHOOL HAD PURCHASED 25 VEHICLES FROM THAT DEALER. HYUNDAI CORPORATE HAS BEEN HORRIBLE ABOUT THIS OCCURRENCE. SALE OF THESE ROOFS MUST BE STOPPED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED.
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR 8+ HOURS (NICE AND COOL - NO HOT TRANSMISSION). I STARTED IT AND DROVE 1/4 OF A MILE TO A STOP LIGHT. AS SOON AS THE LIGHT WENT GREEN, I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE! THE RPMS WERE GOING UP INTO THE 4,000 RANGE, AND IT WOULD NOT SEND ANY POWER TO THE WHEELS. IT BEHAVED AS IF IT HAD THE CLUTCH 99% DEPRESSED, ALMOST AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I HAD TO PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON AS FULL-SPEED TRAFFIC WAS BEARING DOWN UPON ME. I TRIED TO SWITCH IT INTO MANUAL MODE, BUT IT IGNORED MY CHOICE. I THEN MOVED IT INTO PARK, AND BACK TO DRIVE, TO NO AVAIL. STILL, IT WOULD NOT TRANSMIT POWER TO THE WHEELS. AFTER ABOUT 60 SECONDS OF BEING HUNG OUT TO DRY, WITH TRAFFIC GOING AROUND ME, AND BEING FEARFUL OF SOMEONE REAR-ENDING ME AT FULL SPEED, IT DECIDED TO APPLY A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF POWER (LIKE MAYBE 10%), AT VERY HIGH RPMS (4-5K). LEASED A BRAND NEW 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON LIMITED IN NOVEMBER 2015. THE SAME WEEK THE CAR WAS LEASED, I HAD NOTICED SOME LAG IN THE TRANSMISSION WHEN LEAVING STOP SIGNS/STOPLIGHTS. THIS ISSUE GOT A LITTLE BETTER AFTER HAVING A SOFTWARE UPDATE DONE THE FOLLOWING WEEK. AS OF LAST WEEK, MY AC HAS NOT WORKED ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. IT WILL ONLY BLOW HOT AIR. AFTER SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF, THE AC RESETS ITSELF AND WORKS AGAIN. LAST NIGHT WHILE DRIVING HOME, I WAS SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT WAITING TO GET ON THE FREEWAY. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I TOOK OFF, THE CAR REVVED UP TO 5000 RPMS, BUT NEVER MOVED. I SHIFTED THE CAR BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN PARK AND DRIVE WITH NO LUCK. I SHUT THE CAR OFF, RESTARTED IT, AND STILL REVVED LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES, THE CAR KICKED INTO GEAR AND STARTED MOVING VERY SLOWLY BEFORE IT FINALLY KICKED BACK TO NORMAL. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS AS THE CAR WOULD ONLY GO 10MPH UP THE FREEWAY RAMP! ON MY WAY TO THE DEALER THIS MORNING, THE CAR DID THE SAME THING. I WAS IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR ONCE AGAIN REVVED UP, BUT NEVER MOVED. WHEN TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, THE CAR ROLLED BACKWARDS. FINALLY AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR AND SHIFTING BACK AND FORTH, THE CAR KICKED INTO GEAR. AFTER TAKING MY CAR TO THE SHOP THIS MORNING, THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT, BUT THERE IS NO KNOWN FIX. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THAT I AM PAYING FOR A FULLY LOADED VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T DRIVE AND MAKES FOR UNSAFE SITUATIONS!
PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND RPMS WENT TO 5500 BUT CAR WOULD BARELY MOVE. TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT UP. TURNED OFF AND ON TWICE AND CAR WORKED. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IT HAS HAPPENED BUT WAS SUPER DANGEROUS PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC - BARELY AVOIDED BEING HIT.
SHORTLY AFTER DEPARTING FOR WORK IN THE MORNING HOURS AND WHILE TRAVELING ON CITY STREETS, I NOTICED A PROBLEM WITH THE ACCELERATION OF THE CAR FOLLOWING A BRIEF STOP AT A STOP SIGN. THE CAR WAS MOVING, ALTHOUGH IN A VERY SLUGGISH AND UNRESPONSIVE MANNER WHEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. IT SEEMED AS THOUGH THE CAR WAS IN THE WRONG GEAR AND STRUGGLING TO GAIN MOMENTUM. I TRIED TO TROUBLE SHOOT THE PROBLEM AS I WAS LOOKING FOR A OPEN PLACE TO PULL OVER TO THE CURB AND I SWITCHED INTO MANUAL MODE WHILE STILL IN MOTION TO SEE WHAT GEAR THE DISPLAY WOULD SHOW... I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THAT THE "D" REMAINED EVEN THOUGH I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO VERIFY THE ACTIVE GEAR THROUGH SEVERAL CYCLES OF SLIGHT ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. IT SEEMED AS THOUGH THE DCT WAS CONFUSED AND UNABLE TO PROPERLY ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. THIS IS CLEARLY AN UNSETTLING AND UNPREDICTABLE SAFETY CONCERN AND PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH THE HIGHEST PRIORITY.
AFTER INSTALLING A NEW HOOD LATCH UNDER THE RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED THE DASHBOARD SOFTWARE UPGRADE. THE INCORRECT SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE DASH ASSEMBLY WAS INSTALLED. IT SEEMS THAT THE COMPANY HYUNDAI PUT IN CHARGE FOR THE SOFTWARE, FAILED TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AND IT COULD NOT TELL THE DIFF. BETWEEN THE 2 DIFF. STYLES OF DASH ASSEMBLIES. AS OF THE 27TH OF JULY, THE DASH WILL NOT DISPLAY ANYTHING.
WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ON AN INCLINED SURFACE, I WAITED FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC TO CLEAR SO I COULD MAKE THE TURN. ONCE TRAFFIC CLEARED, I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. IN FACT, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACK ABOUT THREE FEET BEFORE I REALIZED WHAT WAS GOING ON (THE DRIVER BEHIND ME LAID ON THE HORN TOO, THANK GOODNESS). THE TRANSMISSION INDICATOR WAS IN "D" (DRIVE) BUT THE VEHICLE HAD ZERO MOTIVE POWER. THE ENGINE TACHOMETER WAS READING AS HIGH AS 6,500 RPMS BUT THE VEHICLE REMAINED STILL, AND WOULD NOT MOVE UNDER ITS OWN POWER. DESPITE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION (PARK, THEN DRIVE, THEN PARK, THEN DRIVE), THE VEHICLE REMAINED STALLED IN TRAFFIC. ULTIMATELY, DRIVERS OF THE TWO VEHICLES BEHIND ME HELPED TO PUSH THE CAR ACROSS TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC INTO A PARKING LOT. THE PROBLEM REMAINED. AFTER FINALLY GIVING UP, AND SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND WAITING APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO MY HOME, APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES AWAY. I CAME HOME TO DO SOME RESEARCH, ONLY TO FIND THAT THERE ARE MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE 1.6 LITER TURBO VERSION OF THIS VEHICLE, MOST ARISING FROM THE DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION (DCT). I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR FOUR MONTHS, AND I NOW WISH THAT I HAD DONE MORE RESEARCH PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE. I WILL NOT BE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE UNTIL A PROPER REMEDY, REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR CAN BE MADE. SUMMARY: SUDDEN AND COMPLETE LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER.

EACH TIME IS THE SAME ISSUE, THE VEHICLE WHILE IN DRIVE WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD WHILE THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. THE RPMS WILL REACT TO THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THE VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE. FIRST, HYUNDAI DEAL SAID IT WAS THE DCT NEEDING UPDATE. SECOND, THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE ONCE IT ARRIVED AT DEALER, BUT I CONTEACT HYUNDAI CORPORATE TO HAVE A MONITORING DEVICE INSTALLED. THEY LEFT IT IN FOR LESS THEN A MONTH. THIRD, JUST OCCURED AND HYUNDAI HAS A NEW CASE ON THE VEHICLE. I INFORMED THEM VIA THE PHONE AND WILL SEND A CERTIFIED LETTER STATING THIS IS THE THIRD AND FINAL TIME, AND I WILL NOT ACCEPT THE VEHICLE BACK DUE TO THE HAZARDS IT CAN CAUSE ON THE ROAD INCLUDING COLLISION, BODILY HARD, AND EVEN DEATH.
IT DOESN'T ALWAYS GO. YOU PUSH THE GAS IT REVS UP AND THEN DOESN'T MOVE. OR MOVES INCREDIBLY SLOW. NOT ALL THE TIME BUT NOT AT GOOD TIMES EITHER. VERY TERRIFYING WENT TO DEALER AND THEY ACT AS IF THEY ARE NOT EVEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM
TWO TIMES IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR FROM A STOP. YESTERDAY (7/25/16) IT OCCURRED WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AND NEARLY RESULTED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT!
CAR IS STOPPED AT RED LIGHT ON HIGHWAY (4 TIMES) AND ONCE IN DRIVEWAY. RUNNING AND IN GEAR. YOU ATTEMPT TO MOVE FORWARD AND IT IS AS IF THE CAR WAS NOT IN GEAR. IT WILL NOT MOVE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND THEN IT WILL RANDOMLY ENGAGE AND BEGIN TO MOVE. OTHER COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN SAY IT RELATES TO THE CLUTCH BUT MY DEALERSHIP STILL HAS THE CAR (FOR THE SECOND TIME) AND SAYS THEY CAN NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE IS UNSAFE UNTIL A FIX IS FOUND.

I NOTICED THE HESITATION AND LAG ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION AS DOCUMENTED IN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS; HOWEVER, WHEN THESE ISSUES WHERE MENTIONED TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY WERE DISMISSED AS BEING NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION. I HAVE MADE 3 TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP; ALTHOUGH, I CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION, I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF ANY TRANSMISSION ISSUES OR THAT HYUNDAI HAD ISSUED A FIX IN DECEMBER 2015 TO ADDRESS THE HESITATION ISSUES IN THE TRANSMISSION. 07.25.16 MY MOM WAS DRIVING MY VEHICHLE AND WAS LEFT STRANDED IN THE CHIC-FIL-A DRIVE THRU BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO ENGAGE. MY MOM WAS IN DRIVE WITH HER FOOT ON THE BRAKE, BUT WHEN SHE REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE BRAKE TO MOVE UP IN LINE THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE, EVEN WITH EXCESSIVE ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL, REVERSE, AND DRIVE AGAIN AND FAILED TO MOVE IN ANY GEAR. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE PUSHED OUT OF LINE INTO A PARKING SPOT. 07.27.16 THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED MY VEHICHLE WAS READY TO PICK UP. WHEN ASKED, THEY STATED THERE WAS "NO" ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION AS THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. THEY HAD NO IDEA WHY MY VEHICHLE HAD BECOME STRANDED, BUT IT WAS READY FOR ME TO PICK UP. AFTER REFUSING TO TAKE BACK AND DRIVE A VEHICHLE IN THIS UNSAFE CONDITION, THEY OFFERED TO HAVE A TECHNICIAN DRIVE IT AROUND FOR A FEW DAYS TO SEE IF HE COULD DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. 08.11.16 DEALERSHIP LEFT A VOICEMAIL STATING HYUNDAI ISSUED A RECALL TO REPAIR THE ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION FAILING TO "PULL", ADVISED MY VEHICLE HAD BEEN FIXED PER THIS RECALL, AND THE ISSUE WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. MY CONCERN NOW IS WHETHER THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN TRULY FIXED ONCE I PICK UP MY VEHICHLE FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND IF DRIVING IT LIKE THIS HAS CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE.
INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION. WE RECEIVE MESSAGES STATING THE TRANSMISSION IS OVERHEATED. WE HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED HIGH RPMS WITH NO FORWARD OR REVERSE MOTION WHEN IN DRIVE AND REVERSE. THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT ENGAGE AND MOVE THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON INCLINES AND WITHIN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE WE CAN'T DEPEND ON FORWARD OR REVERSE MOTION WHEN IN DRIVE AND REVERSE.
THIS ISSUE HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. AS I ACCELERATE FROM A STANDING STOP THE ENGINE WILL REV UP TO MATCH THE ACCELERATOR PETAL BUT THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT ENGAGE. I LET OFF THE PETAL AND ATTEMPT TO MOVE AGAIN WITH NOT LUCK. I SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL THEN BACK INTO DRIVE WITH THE SAME RESULTS. AFTER THE THIRD OR FORTH ATTEMPT THE VEHICLE WILL START TO MOVE SLOWLY THEN ACCELERATE RAPIDLY AS THE TRANSMISSION FULLY ENGAGES. THIS IS A 7 MONTH OLD VEHICLE WITH 13K MILES AND THIS ISSUE WAS FIRST NOTICED AT ABOUT THE 10K MARK. THIS ISSUE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION WHO INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS KNOW ISSUE WITH THE TUSCON WITH THE NEW 1.6 TURBO AND 7 SPEED DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER FOLLOWED THE MFG ADVICE TO RESET THE ECM (ENGINE CONTROL MODULE) AND THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) THIS WAS DONE AND WITHIN 100 MILES FOR THE RESET THE ISSUE WAS BACK AND EVEN WORSE. THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER SAFE TO OPERATE BECAUSE OF THE RANDOMNESS OF THE ISSUE SO THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT AT THE DEALER ON 7-26-2016 AWAITING AN ANSWER FROM HYUNDAI ON A PERMANENT FIX. AS OF 7-26-2016 NO UPDATE OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE ISSUE HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY THE DEALER OR THE OWNER. A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH HYUNDAI ON 7-23-2016 AND THE OWNER IS STILL AWAITING A CALL BACK FROM A REPRESENTATIVE OF HYUNDAI AMERICA.

I WAS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON A CITY STREET WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO TURN GREEN. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I DEPRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND MY CAR BARELY MOVED. THE RPM'S REV'D UP BUT THE CAR WAS BARELY MOVING. I THOUGHT I WAS IN NEUTRAL AT FIRST BUT WAS NOT. I KEPT HITTING THE GAS TRYING TO GET POWER TO THE CAR TO GET THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. CARS BEHIND ME WERE BEEPING. THE CAR FINALLY FOUND A GEAR AND CONTINUED ON. THAT WAS SCARY. IF I WERE MAKING A LEFT TURN SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR EVEN WORSE! I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR NOW. THIS SEEMS TO BE A GROWING ISSUE WITH OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE. I BELIEVE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DUE WITH THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. I HAVE CONTACTED HYUNDAI CORPORATE AND THE DEALERSHIP. I WANT TO HELP GET THE WORD OUT TO ESCALATED THE FIX FOR THIS ISSUE OR A RESOLUTION.
THE CAR RANDOMLY DOES NOT SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOPPED POSITION. MY HUSBAND AND I HAD BEEN NOTICING THAT THE CAR WOULD SOMETIMES LAG WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM STOPPED AND THEN JUMP FORWARD. WE ALSO NOTICED SIMILAR ISSUES WHEN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS CHANGING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR AND SECOND TO THIRD GEAR. LAST WEEK, MY HUSBAND AND I WERE ENTERING A MAIN ROAD FROM A PARKING LOT. WHEN MY HUSBAND RELEASED THE BREAK AND STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR SLOWLY ROLLED FORWARD INTO THE ROAD, BUT DID NOT ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN MY HUSBAND PUSHED THE GAS TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR REVVED. THE FIRST GEAR DID NOT ENGAGE. MY HUSBAND HAD TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND RESTART THE ENGINE IN ORDER TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE. WE TOOK IT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THEY CLAIMED TO CLEAN SOME CONTACTS AND UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AND SAID THAT THIS FIXES THE PROBLEM, WHICH WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. THE NEXT DAY, WE WERE ONCE AGAIN ENTERING A ROAD FROM A PARKING LOT, AND THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED. WE TOOK IT BACK TO HYUNDAI AND THE MANAGER SAID THAT THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION OF THIS MODEL OF CAR AND THAT THEY HAD ALREADY PERFORMED 'SOFTWARE UPDATES' ON APPROXIMATELY 70 CARS AT THEIR DEALERSHIP AND ONLY JUST REALIZED THE DAY BEFORE THAT THIS DOESN'T FIX ANYTHING. HE SAID THAT THE CAR WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, HYUNDAI DOES NOT CURRENTLY KNOW HOW TO FIX THE ISSUE, AND THAT THEY WOULD GIVE US A LOANER CAR WHILE HYUNDAI ENGINEERS WORK ON THE PROBLEM. HE SAID THEY MAY HAVE A SOLUTION IN A FEW WEEKS. IN THE MEANTIME, HE CLAIMED THAT THEIR DEALERSHIP WAS NO LONGER SELLING THESE VEHICLES. THESE CARS ARE A SAFETY HAZARD AND IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. THEY ALL NEED TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY.

I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER TWICE WITH THE LATEST BEING TOLD THAT HYUNDAI IS WORKING ON A DCT SOFTWARE UPGRADE TO BE AVAILABLE IN 3 TO 6 WEEKS.
ON 2 OCCASIONS I HAVE COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN IT WAS TIME TO GO I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE ENGINED REVVED, BUT THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK THEN DRIVE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE CAR EVENTUALLY MOVED. THE CAR WAS PUT INTO THE SHOP ON 8/1/2016. THE ISSUE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DUPLICATED, BUT THE SERVICE MANAGER CALLED HYUNDAI TECH AND WAS TOLD TO PERFORM A RELEARN. WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR, I ASKED ABOUT THE SERVICE MANAGER ABOUT THE ISSUE GIVING THE NUMEROUS INTERNET COMPLAINTS. HE STATED IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND CURRENTLY HYUNDAI DOES NOT HAVE A FIX. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE GIVING THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I AM HOPING SOMETHING CAN BE DONE IN ASAP TO PREVENT ANY SERIOUS OUTCOMES DUE TO THE DANGEROUSNESS OF THESE TRANSMISSIONS.
STANDING AT RED LIGHT WITH FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN LIGHT CHANGE TO GREEN, I TOK FOOT OF BRAKE AND STEPT ON GAS PEDAL. THE ENGEN STARTED TO RACE BUT CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. AFTER SEVEREL SECONDS AND CARS BEHIND ME HONKING THEIR HORN, CAR WOULD LURCH FORWARD AND SLOWELY GAIN SPEED. I WAS GOING STRAIT FORWARD SO I DID NOT CUT ANYONE OFF. IF I HAD BEEN MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN ON THIS TWO WAY STREET, I MOSTLIKELY WOULD HAVE HIT SOMEONE OR THEY WOULD HAVE HIT ME. BRINGING CAR TO ISLAND HYUNDAI ON STATEN ISLAND N.Y. TOMORROW .
PARKING VEHICLE AT MY APARTMENTS WHEN THE ACCERLATER JUST TOOK ON ITS OWN. IT CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. HAD TURN KEY OFF AND HIT THE BULIDING. IT WAS STATIONARY. JUST PARKING ON A FLAT PARKING AREA
HAD AN ACCIDENT WHILE PARKING THE ACCELERATOR JUST TOOK OFF ON ITS OWN IT STOP BECAUSE IT HIT A CONCERT WALL./REPORTED THE ACCIDENT TO HYUNDAI AND THEY SAID TO JUST FIX.I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THEIR IS A RECALL ONLY ON CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS WELL CAR VIN NUMBER IS NOT ON THE LIST BUT I STILL HAD THE ACCIDENT. GOT IN TOUCH WITH THERE CORP OFFICE THEY CALL ME TOOK ALL MY INFORMATION AND I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM NOBODY. I STILL FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE DRIVING. *TR
NOT LONG AFTER THE PURCHASE OF MY 2016 TUCSON, PROBABLY WHEN I FIRST STARTED USING THE AC THE FIRST SUMMER I OWNED IT, I STARTED TO GET SOME MUSTY SMELLS COMING FROM THE VENTS. THIS PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE EACH YEAR AND CHANGING THE CABIN AIR FILTER DOESN'T SEEM TO HELP. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS WITH ANY OTHER CAR, AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING CARS FOR 40 YEARS. THE SMELL SEEMS TO POP UP IN HUMID WEATHER WHEN USING THE AC. I WORRY THAT THE EVAPORATOR COIL MAY BE GROWING MOLD OR MICROBES.
I HAD ~3,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. I WENT TO MOVE THE TUCSON UP MY DRIVEWAY. THE ENGINE WAS REVVING 3-4K RPMS AND THE VEHICLE SPEED WAS 1 MPH.
THE DCT TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE RANDOMLY STOPS PROPELLING THE CAR FORWARD. ALTHOUGH INITIALLY THE CAR REFUSED TO MOVE FORWARD WHILE AT A STOP, I HAVE HAD SEVERAL RECENT INCIDENTS WHERE THE DCT TRANSMISSION "DROPPED" OUT OF GEAR WHILE TRAVELING AT 70 MPH. I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE TRANSMISSION TO RE-ENGAGE UNTIL I MANAGED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD - AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ~10 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN APRIL 2016. IT NOW HAS 9400 MILES. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO MY LOCAL DEALER - AND THEY REPORTED "NO PROBLEM FOUND." THEY RECOMMENDED THAT I NO LONGER OPERATE THE VEHICLE IN "ECO" MODE, AND NOT DO "AGGRESSIVE" DRIVING. THIS PROBLEM CONTINUES WHETHER IT IS IN ECO MODE OR NOT -- AND MY DRIVING STYLE IS FAR FROM AGGRESSIVE. LOSING POWER AT HIGH SPEED CREATES A POTENTIAL DANGEROUS SITUATION, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HAPPENED AT PASSING SPEEDS. I CANNOT CONSISTENTLY RE-CREATE THE PROBLEM - BUT IT'S DEFINITIVE A SOFTWARE/HARDWARE ISSUE WITH THE CONTROL OF THE DCT TRANSMISSION.
LAST WEEK WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON UNIVERSITY PKWAY,HEADING TO UTC MALL, IN SARASOTA FLORIDA. WHEN IT WAS TIME TO MOVE THE CAR WOULD NOT! WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE IT WOULD NOT MOVE! IT WOULD NOT ROLL FORWARD, IT WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING!! THE RPM'S JUMPED ON GAUGES AND AC CUT OUT. I SHUT OFF THE AC, BUT THE SAME ISSUE WAS REPEATING ITSELF. I ALSO TRIED A DIFFERENT DRIVE MODE. NOTHING WORKED, UNTIL I APPLIED MAX ACCELERATION, AS I HAD TO GET OUT OF THE INTERSECTION, SOMEHOW, AT WHICH POINT THE TIRES SQUEALED, AND THE CAR TOOK OFF! I FOUND A PARKING SPACE AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. I CALLED MY SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE LAKEWOOD STORE IN BRADENTON AND HE TOLD ME TO HAVE IT TOWED IN. I CHOSE TO DRIVE IT IN. LAKEWOOD SERVICE TECHS, IN BRADENTON, FL. PERFORMED HYUNDAI MULTI POINT INSPECTION AND I WAS TOLD, AND IT IS WRITTEN ON MY SERVICE ORDER, "TECH UNABLE TO DUPLICATE ISSUE. NO ISSUE FOUND. VEHICLE FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED!" I HAVE CONTACTED CONSUMER AFFAIRS, PER MY SERVICE ADVISOR'S RECOMMENDATION, AND HIS SERVICE MANAGER, AND I HAVE A CASE NUMBER, HOWEVER I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK, AT THIS WRITING. I LEFT THE CAR THERE! I WILL NOT DRIVE THIS, AGAIN! THAT WAS TWO WEEKS AGO! I'VE ALSO BEEN IN COMMUNICATION WITH THE OPERATIONS MANAGER FOR THE GETTEL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIPS IN FLORIDA, AND HE INFORMED ME YESTERDAY, THAT I WOULD BE HEARING FROM HYUNDAI MOTORS IN ATLANTA, GA. WITH A RESOLUTION. I DID NOT! THIS CAR IS UNSAFE, AND I WANT THEM TO BUY IT BACK! IT ONLY HAS 2300 MILES ON IT, PURCHASED 4 MONTHS AGO! I HAVE GOOGLED THIS VEHICLE, AND HAVE FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS, OF THE SAME NATURE. I WOULD LIKE TO PUT THIS NIGHTMARE BEHIND ME, AND BE ABLE TO GO AND PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. I CANNOT, UNTIL THIS ONE IS RESOLVED, AND I AM REIMBURSED. I AM PAYING 400.00 A MONTH, CURRENTLY TO HYUNDAI MOTOR CORP., FOR A VEHICLE I CANNOT DRIVE!
THE FIRST SIGN OF TROUBLE WITH THE VEHICLE CONCERNED THE COMPUTERIZED FUNCTIONS WITHIN THE VEHICLE. I COULD NOT SYNC MY PHONE TO THE CAR AND OTHER ISSUES . THE SECOND SIGN OF TROUBLE WAS WHEN I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK ONE RAINY MORNING. I EXITED THE EXPRESSWAY AND STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT. ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN - THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I SAT THERE FOR A FEW LIGHTS ATTEMPTING TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE. IT FINALLY JERKED AND ACCELERATED VERY QUICKLY AND I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR BECAUSE THEY ROAD TESTED THE CAR AND DID NOT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I KEPT HAVING ALL SORTS OF PROBLEMS AFTER THIS, SUCH AS JERKING, LURCHING, LIGHTS FLICKERING IN AND OUT, TO NAME A FEW. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE CONFUSED AND I CONSIDER THIS CAR TO BE QUITE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. EVENTUALLY I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED A HOOD LATCH - SOMETHING I DID NOT EVEN KNOW I NEEDED AND PERFORMED A SOFTWARE CLUSTER THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR A FULL WEEK. I GOT THE CAR BACK AND DID NOT HAVE IT 24 HOURS BEFORE IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN, BUT EVEN WORSE THAN BEFORE. IT STILL SHOOTS OUT AFTER THE ACCELERATOR HAS BEEN TAPPED GENTLY, LURCHES AND JERKS FORWARD, STALLS AND STOPS, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS RAINING. I DON'T EVEN WANT TO THINK ABOUT TRYING TO DRIVE THIS CAR ONCE THE WINTER HAS SET IN. I AM ALREADY AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEALER (WORLD HYUNDAI OF MATTESON, IL ) AND HYUNDAI MOTORS TO NO AVAIL. I HAVE TO PAY FOR A CAR THAT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I AM AFRAID THEY AREN'T GOING TO MAKE ANY REAL CHANGES UNLESS SOMEONE HAS A TRAGIC ACCIDENT AND DIES.
I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE A MONTH AGO AND ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THE ENGINES REVS BUT IT WONT DRIVE. ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN I'M AT A STOP OR IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BECAUSE AN APPROACHING CAR DIDN'T SEE ME STOPPED AT THE LIGHT BUT I COULD NOT GO. I TRIED TURNING OFF AND ON, PUTTING INTO REVERSE AND NOTHING. AGAIN THE ENGINE REVS, SOUNDS LIKE ITS NOT IN GEAR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS ADDRESSED. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED. THE PROBLEM RESOLVES ITSELF USUALLY AFTER A FEW MINUTES BUT IT LEAVES YOU STUCK IN TRAFFIC. THE DRIVE TRAIN, TRANSMISSION, ETC MUST BE DEFECTIVE! I HAVE 3600 MILES ON THE CAR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD REPLICATE THE PROBLEM (OF COURSE!). VERY LITTLE POWER AND LETS YOU GET TO ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR - VERY DANGEROUS! I'VE READ ONLINE ABOUT NUMEROUS OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE - PLEASE HELP!
I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR INTO DEALER (AT 6800 MILES) BECAUSE OF SIGNIFICANT JUMPINESS AND HESITATION. THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS "NORMAL" EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT DOING THIS EARLIER. THEN LESS THAN 1 WEEK LATER, MY CAR REFUSED TO MOVE. WAS DRIVING, CAME TO A RED LIGHT AND STOPPED NORMALLY. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE. RPMS REVVED UP TO 4000/5000 AND ...NOTHING. I MOVED THROUGH THE GEARS, TRIED DIFFERENT MODES, AND GOT THE CAR TO INCH FORWARD WITH HIGH REVS OF THE ENGINE. THIS WAS GOOD CUZ I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROADWAY. IT WAS RAINING HEAVILY AND I WAS AFRAID I WOULD GET REAR ENDED. FINALLY, CAR DECIDED IT WOULD DRIVE. GOT HOME. NEXT MORNING BACKED OUT OF GARAGE, AND NO FORWARD MOVEMENT. HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER. I DON'T BELIEVE THEY KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. ONE PERSON SAYS WAITING FOR HYUNDAI TO TELL THEM SOMETHING. ANOTHER SAYS SOFTWARE ISSUE. INTERNET POSTINGS SUGGEST CLUTCH ASSEMBLY ACTUATOR. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN GOOD FAITH, BUT I BELIEVE THEY KNEW THERE WERE ISSUES.
WENT TO A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TO BUY THE HYUNDAI SANTA FE MODEL. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ONE IN STOCK BUT TOLD ME THAT THE HYUNDAI TUCSON MODEL WAS JUST LIKE THE SANTA FE BUT A SMALLER VERSION. I GOT THE TUCSON VEHICLE AND IN 2 DAYS THE AIR CONDITIONER ONLY BLEW HOT AIR WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I CALLED THE HYUNDAI SERVICE AGENT I WAS TOLD TO ONLY USE THE AIR CONDITIONER ON THE LOWEST FAN. IF I PUT IT ON A HIGHER SETTING IT WILL FREEZE UP AND BLOW ONLY HOT AIR. IT WAS 95 OUT SIDE. LATER I CAME TO A STOP AND WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS THE ENGINE REVVED UP BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT GO FORWARD. I LET OFF ON THE GAS AND TRIED AGAIN. THE ENGINE AGAIN REVVED UP FOR ABOUT 6 SECONDS THEN THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD. THE NEXT DAY I HAD PARKED ON A SMALL INCLINE. WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE I: PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE - RELEASED THE PARKING BRAKE - PUT IT INTO DRIVE AND STEPPED ON THE GAS. THE ENGINE REVVED UP BUT DID NOT GO FORWARD, INSTEAD IT ROLLED BACKWARDS ABOUT 6 TO 12 INCHES THEN IT POPPED INTO GEAR AND LURCHED FORWARD. EVERY TIME I DROVE THE CAR I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THAT HYUNDAI TUCSON. I FELT UNSAFE AND WAS WORRIED THAT THERE WOULD BE AN ACCIDENT WITH THE CAR ACTING LIKE IT DID. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I LOOKED ON LINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF REVIEWS OF THIS VEHICLE ALL STATING THE SAME PROBLEMS I WAS HAVING. SO, I TRADED IN MY 6 DAY OLD TUCSON FOR A SANTA FE - AND I AM VERY HAPPY NOW. THE TUCSON I FELT WAS THE MOST UNSAFE AND UNRELIABLE VEHICLE THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED OR DRIVEN. NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME ABOUT THESE KNOWN PROBLEMS AND/OR ISSUES WITH THE DUEL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM. ALL I CAN SAY IS THIS CAR IS A POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING VEHICLE AND IF HYUNDAI DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF THESE ISSUES THEN THERE IS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF FATALITIES OCCURRING.
