TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED TO START, OR A ROLLING LOW SPEED TO ACCELERATING CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DRIFT INTO INTERSECTION OR LANE WITHOUT POWER. ATTEMPTS TO RE-SHIFT INTO GEAR WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. CAR SLAMMED INTO GEAR AT HIGH RPM WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CLEAR AN INTERSECTION CAUSING A JERKING INTO GEAR SENSATION AND ACCELERATING VERY QUICKLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND GETTING MORE FREQUENT. TOOK IT TO LOCAL DEALER FOR SERVICE. DEALER CHECKED FOR ANY MECHANICAL FAILURES AND FOUND NONE. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED HYUNDAI IS AWARE OF A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL CAR AND THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION NOT PROPERLY ENGAGING. DEALER RESET THE LEARNING MODE OF THE TRANSMISSION IN ATTEMPT TO TEMPORARILY DELAY THE SYMPTOMS. THE SAME SYMPTOMS RE-APPEARED WITH A WEEK. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SCENARIO AND I FEEL UNSAFE IN THIS VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WHEN IN CERTAIN DRIVING SITUATIONS LIKE MAKING A LEFT TURN IN A WINDOW OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND NOT HAVING THE POWER TO CLEAR THE INTERSECTION OR LANE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AND THANKFULLY NO-ONE HAS GOTTEN HURT,,,,YET! THIS CAR IS ONLY A MONTH OLD AND HAS 1000 MILES ON IT. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS ON 7/18/2016 AND IS GETTING MORE FREQUENT WITH TIME.
THE CAR CONSISTENTLY HESITATES AND VIOLENTLY JERKS UPON ACCELERATION. ADDITIONALLY, SEVERAL TIMES AFTER A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHEN PUSHING ON THE GAS. THE ENGINE REVS, BUT IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR ISN'T FULLY IN GEAR (LIKE RIDING THE CLUTCH IN A MANUAL TRANSMISSION). THIS CAUSED ME ALMOST TO BE REAR ENDED WHEN TURNING ONTO A 55 MPH HIGHWAY. THE DEALERSHIP HAS PERFORMED TWO SOFTWARE UPDATES FROM HYUNDAI AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. I FEEL THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND AM CURRENTLY DRIVING A RENTAL CAR WHILE THE DEALERSHIP CONTINUES TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
DCT TRANSMISSION HESITATES OFF THE LINE ON NORMAL ACCELERATION; EVERY TIME YOU TAKE OFF FROM A DEAD STOP. VERY IRRITATING, NEVER SURE OF A QUICK SMOOTH ACCELERATION. IF YOU ROLL TO ALMOST A STOP THEN ACCELERATE BRISKLY, CLUTCHES WILL HESITATE BEFORE ENGAGING SEVERAL SECONDS, THEN GRAB CAUSING THE CAR TO LUNGE. SEVERAL TIMES A MONTH - I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW, NOW HAS 10K MILES. WHEN SITTING STILL AT RED LIGHT, THEN ACCELERATE SLOWLY NOTHING HAPPENS -THIS IS LIKE YOU ARE IN NEUTRAL. I HAVE TO PHYSICALLY KNOCK THE GEAR SHIFT IN LOW THEN BACK TO DRIVE, ETC., TO FINALLY GET THE CLUTCHES TO ENGAGE.-I HAVE HAD TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND WAVE PEOPLE AROUND SEVERAL TIMES. DEALER SAID NORMAL FOR DCT NOTHING NOW CAN BE DONE BUT HYUNDAI IS TRYING TO COME UP WITH A SOFT-WARE FIX. THEY HAVE DONE ONE ALREADY BUT NO FIX AND CAR VIBRATES-CONSUMER REPORTS TALKS ABOUT THIS ON LINE.
VEHICLE FAILS TO MOVE AND/OR ACCELERATE WHEN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL OR IT MOVES IN A VERY "JERKY" MANNER. I DO MOSTLY CITY DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND AFTER I HAVE COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, USUALLY AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. HAPPENED ONCE AFTER I FILLED UP THE CAR WITH GAS. AT THAT TIME THE ENGINE HAD BEEN OFF. SO AFTER I AM STOPPED, AND THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, I HIT THE GAS. THE ENGINE REVS AND THE TACH CAN HIT 4000RPMS BUT I EITHER DON'T MOVE OR MOVE A MATTER OF INCHES. USUALLY LASTS 20 - 30 SECONDS. LAST WEEKEND IT WAS 45 SECONDS. (IT IS AS IF THE CAR IS IN PARK, WHICH IT IS NOT). EVENTUALLY THE CAR MOVES. FIRST STARTED AT ABOUT 6400 MILES; I NOW HAVE 7500 ON IT AND IT SEEMS TO BE OCCURRING MORE FREQUENTLY. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE WHILE BACKING UP AS WELL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THEY SAID IT IS JUST THE WAY THIS CAR RUNS. (THEY ALSO MENTIONED THEY HAVE STARTED GETTING COMPLAINTS LIKE MINE WITH THIS MODEL CAR.) THE UPDATE DID NOTHING. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS SITUATION. I AM AFRAID OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *BF
FIRST INCIDENT: PUT CAR IN REVERSE, PUSHED ACCELERATOR, AND CAR WOULD NOT MOVE BUT ACCELERATED TO 4000 RPM. SECOND INCIDENT: BACKED OUT OF PARKING SPACE INTO TRAFFIC, PUT CAR IN DRIVE, WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, RAMS ROSE OVER 6000, SWITCHED FROM PARK TO DRIVE NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO RESULTS. SWITCHED I TO SPORT MODE AND DROPPED INTO 1ST GEAR AND GOT CAR MOVING. THIRD INCIDENT WAS SAME AS INCIDENT 2 BUT CAR WOULD ONLY MOVE LESS THAN 10 MPH IN VERY HIGH RPMS. RESTARTED, BUT STILL DIDN'T WORK. WAS TOLD BY HYUNDAI THE FIRST TIME IT WAS HOW I DRIVE. THEY NOW ADMIT TO A PROBLEM THAT MIGHT BE FIXABLE 30 DAYS FROM NOW.GETTING A RUNAROUND FROM DEALER AND THIS PROBLEM IS DOCUMENTED ALL OVER THE INTERNET.
I HAVE A 2016 TUCSON LIMITED - PURCHASED 2/2016...HAS 2700 MILES ON IT. THE TRANSMISSION HAS ALWAYS BEEN "JUMPY" BUT LAST WEEK AND THE WEEK BEFORE I WAS IN TRAFFIC AT A SIGNAL AND WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE NOTHING HAPPENED. THE RPM'S WENT UP TO 6000 RPM BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE...IT WAS VERY SCARY AND I CAME SO CLOSE TO GETTING HIT. I HAD PEOPLE COMING TOWARD ME AND BEHIND ME GOING 40 MPH. I KEPT PRESSING THE PEDAL AND IT FINALLY TOOK OFF...I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE FIRST TIME AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE IT AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO KNOWN ISSUE. I TOOK IT AGAIN YESTERDAY AND THEY GAVE ME A RENTAL AND THEY CALLED TODAY AND SAID THEY DID A 'SOFTWARE UPDATE' AND ITS FIXED. I WILL SEE HOW IT GOES. BUT IT WILL BE HARD TO EVER DRIVE THIS CAR WITH ANY CONFIDENCE AGAIN.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CAR WILL NOT GO INTO ANY FORWARD GEAR AFTER STOPPING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS. ONCE, THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE DRIVEN IN REVERSE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY SAFELY. THE DEALER HAS UPDATED THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE, BUT IT CONCERNS ME THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN.
WHILE AT A RED LIGHT WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN PRESSED THE GAS AND ENGINE JUST REVED TO ABOUT 5000 RPM WITH NO MOVEMENT. CAR WAS IN DRIVE TRIED AGAIN CAR REVED AGAIN AND SUDDENLY STARTED MOVING. THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND I ONLY PURCHASED IT A WEEK AGO.
WHEN YOU ARE EITHER STOPPED OR IN MOTION THE CAR HESITATES ON ACCELERATION. FOR EXAMPLE WHEN PULLING IN TRAFFIC YOUR RPM'S ARE GOING UP AND YOUR WHEELS ARE NOT MOVING. THIS NEW TYPE OF TRANSMISSION (DUEL CLUTCH) DOES NOT FEEL RIGHT WHEN YOU HIT GAS IT EITHER HESITATES AND JERKS AHEAD. ALSO GETTING MESSAGE OF THE TRANSMISSION GETTING HOT. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. THIS HAPPENS WHEN SITTING IN TRAFFIC. I THINK THIS IS A ISSUE NOT ONLY WITH HYUNDAI, BUT OTHER CAR MAKERS
DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION RECALL: I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY TUCSON A WEEK AFTER PURCHASE (JULY 2016). IT'S A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH SHIFTING, ACCELERATING, AND HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN TO BE LOOKED AT SEVERAL TIMES. THE HYUNDAI DEALER IN IOWA SAID THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ISSUES I HAVE BEEN HAVING WITH MY VEHICLE BUT NO FIX. IT'S THE DCT (DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION) RECALL; I RECEIVED THIS IN THE MAIL A MONTH OR TWO AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE. THE ONLY SOLUTION THERE IS TO "FIX" THIS EXTREMELY UNSAFE PROBLEM IS AN UPDATE! HYUNDAI SAID THAT I WOULD NEED TO CONTINUE TO BRING IT IN AS LONG AS I'M HAVING THESE ISSUES TO UPDATE. THIS IS A BAND-AID. THERE IS NO PERMANENT FIX AND I FEEL EXTREMELY UNSAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. WHEN MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE, I CAN'T ACCELERATE AND HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN MANY ACCIDENTS DUE TO LACK OF POWER AND ACCELERATION FROM THE DCT. THIS HAPPENS NOT ONLY WHEN MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE, BUT ALSO IN RURAL AREAS LIKE THE HIGHWAY, MAIN CITY STREETS, AND NEIGHBORHOODS. THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY FROM A STOP OR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A SLOW SPEED. I HAVE A FAMILY, AND THE WHOLE REASON FOR THIS PURCHASE WAS BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY FEATURES; THERE IS NOTHING SAFE ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. I WAS SOLD A DEFUNCT CAR AND AM EXTREMELY UPSET THAT HYUNDAI SOLD ME THIS VEHICLE WHEN THERE WAS A RECALL IN THE MAKING. *TR
PROBLEM WITH DCT TRANSMISSION. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE CAR HAS DIFFICULTIES ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THE ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT. WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS AND YOU PUSH THE GAS PEDAL AFTER A COMPLETE STOP THE VEHICLE VIBRATES AND JERKS BACK AND FORTH BUT DOES NOT FULLY ACCELERATE. ALSO, SOMETIMES IT FAILS TO MOVE AT ALL EVEN THOUGH THE RPMS GO UP TO 4000-5000 RANGE. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN IF YOU ARE TRYING TO CROSS THROUGH TRAFFIC AND THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE.
STILL HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUES AS BEFORE. CAR WON'T ACCELERATE, IS JUMPY, REFUSES TO MOVE ANYMORE WHEN STOPPED OR ALREADY IN MOTION. HAD AN APPOINTMENT THIS MORNING WITH WOODHOUSE HYUNDAI AND THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME A CAR TO BORROW NOR DID THEY GIVE ME A RIDE TO WORK - SO I HAD TO RESCHEDULE. THE MECHANICAL MANAGER SAID "CAN'T YOU WAIT 15 MINUTES?" I DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS AN OPTION TO BE LATE FOR WORK. MAYBE IT'S JUST MECHANICS THAT ARE ALLOWED TO BE LATE, BUT I SURE AM NOT ALLOWED TO BE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS LACKING HERE AND SO IS THIS CAR. I'M DRAINED FROM ALL OF THE TIME I'VE PUT INTO THIS CAR TO BE REPAIRED AND NOTHING IS FIXED, BECAUSE THERE IS NO FIX! THE SAME BATTLE OVER AND OVER AGAIN IS PHYSICALLY TAKING A TOLL ON ME AND I'M TIRED OF FIGHTING TO HAVE MY CAR FIXED. I TRY TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS AND CAN'T ALWAYS MEET THOSE APPOINTMENT TIMES BECAUSE I HAVE A JOB. I NEED MY JOB TO PAY THE LOAN. I NEED THE LOAN FOR THE CAR TO GET TO MY JOB. I NEED MY CAR TO BE RELIABLE. MY CAR IS NOT RELIABLE SO I CAN'T GET TO MY JOB AND PAY MY LOAN BECAUSE OF MY CAR. DO YOU SEE THE PROBLEM HERE!?!?!?!! I'VE NEVER HATED A CAR AS MUCH AS I HATE THIS ONE. EDWARDS HYUNDAI SOLD ME A CAR THAT THEY PROMISED WAS RELIABLE AND SAFE - AND IT'S NOT. IT'S ABSOLUTELY THE OPPOSITE. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A HYUNDAI AGAIN. I'D BE BETTER OFF WALKING AT THIS POINT OR TAKING THE BUS. TAKE THIS THING BACK.
WE ARE NOTICING A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION. RANDOMLY AT RED LIGHTS AFTER WE STOP...ONCE THE GREEN LIGHT APPEARS AND WE PRESS DOWN ON THE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE...THE CAR DOES NOT GO ANYWHERE...THE ENGINE JUST KEEPS REVING. IT'S STARTING TO BE MORE FREQUENT. THIS ALMOST CAUSED US AN ACCIDENT OVER TEN TIMES NOW. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE BEHIND THE CAR ANYMORE AND CONSIDERING TRADING IT IN ALREADY.
BROUGHT BRAND NEW JAN. 1, 2016. MANY TIMES THE CAR LURCHES INTO GEAR. SEVERAL TIMES THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. ONCE, CAR WOULDN'T START. DEALER HAS HAD CAR TWICE (ONCE FOR A WEEK). NO ENGINE CODE. BLAMED AFTER MARKET REMOTE START, AND REMOVED IT. OBVIOUSLY, NOT THE ISSUE, AS IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN TWICE IN THE PAST 5 DAYS. THIS IS VERY UNPREDICTABLE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY TURNING LEFT IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC. I HAVE TOTALLY LOST CONFIDENCE IN THE SAFETY OF THIS CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO OPERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V628000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
ABOUT MID-MAY OF THIS YEAR MY HUSBAND EXPERIENCED LOSS OF ACCELERATION (AS IF IN STUCK IN NEUTRAL) AT A RED LIGHT. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE, THE CAR REVVED TO 3500-4000, BUT THE CAR ROLLED BACKWARDS. THE CAR WAS WITHOUT POWER FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS THEN TERRIFYINGLY LURCHED FORWARD AS THOUGH SLIPPING IN AND OUT OF GEAR. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 06/21/2016 AND WERE TOLD THAT OUR CAR NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND ALL THE ADAPTIVE VALUES WERE RESET. WE TOOK OUR TUCSON BACK. ON 07/07/16 IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, OUR TUCSON LOST ACCELERATION/POWER AGAIN WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM A BUSY RED LIGHT. THE ENGINE JUST REVVED UP TO 4000+ RMP, ROLLED BACKWARDS AND HAD NO POWER OR FORWARD ACCELERATION. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE AND THE LOSS OF POWER WAS ABOUT 20 SECONDS. WE IMMEDIATELY CALLED OUR DEALERSHIP SERVICE ADVISOR AND WERE INSTRUCTED TO BRING OUR TUCSON IN IMMEDIATELY. OUR CAR WAS KEPT FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND ON MONDAY MORNING, JULY 11TH I RECEIVED A CALL STATING THAT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE LOSS OF POWER AND NO ERROR MESSAGES WERE IDENTIFIED AND "THAT WAS JUST HOW THE DUAL TRANSMISSION (DCT) FUNCTIONS". I PICKED UP MY CAR, DROVE ABOUT TWO BLOCKS AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND LOST ALL ACCELERATION/POWER AGAIN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN RIGHT ONTO A BUSY STREET FROM A STOPPED POSITION. THIS TIME THE LOSS OF POWER WAS A FULL 45 SECONDS OR MORE. THE ENGINE REVVED TO OVER 6000 RPM AND SPUTTERED, SLIPPING IN AND OUT OF WHAT FELT LIKE NEUTRAL, IT WAS TERRIFYING AND I WAS ALMOST HIT! I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND DEMANDED THAT SOMEONE TEST DRIVE WITH ME BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT DID NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE SERVICE SUPERVISOR WOULD BE LOOKING AT MY CAR. THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION/POWER IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING OUR TUCSON. THE DEALERSHIP SEEMED COMPLETELY AT A LOSS AS TO WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM.
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN THE LEFT TURN LANE OF AN INTERSECTION. WHEN THE TURN ARROW WENT GREEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS IN DRIVE. AFTER SHIFTING IN AND OUT OF PARK TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FINALLY STARTED MOVING. ONCE I WAS UNDERWAY THE ENGINE STARTED REVVING BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD BARELY GO. I WAS ALMOST STRUCK BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC TRYING TO GET OUT OF HARMS WAY. THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED RESPONDING NORMALLY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE HAD BEEN NUMEROUS ISSUES REPORTED SIMILAR TO THIS. THEY PLAN TO RESET THE DCT TO FACTORY SETTINGS BUT I NOW HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THIS VEHICLE WHILE IN TRAFFIC. ..UPDATED 06/08/17 *BF
AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT TRAFFIC LIGHT STARTED TO PROCEED WHEN LIGHT CHANGED. CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AND ACTUALLY ROLLED BACKWARD A BIT AFTER RELEASING BRAKE. RPM'S INCREASED WITH DEPRESSION OF GAS PEDAL BUT CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. IT TOOK A MORE THAN 10 SECONDS FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO ENGAGE BUT EVEN THEN IT WAS BARELY ENGAGING (CAR WOULD BARELY MOVE). TERRIBLY SCARY MOMENT ON A BUSY HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR. MY WIFE AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR.
2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON STARTED HAVING ACCELERATOR ISSUES. AFTER YOU TAKE OFF FROM A COMPLETE STOP YOU JUST GET NO POWER AND THIS IS WHEN THE PERSON BEHIND HAS ALREADY TAKEN OFF OR YOUR IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION I HAVE HAD MANY DRIVERS SLAM ON THEIR BREAKS DUE TO MY CAR NOT ACCELERATING. 188 CLAIMS ON 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON ON AUTO.CLIAMS WEBSITE 7/11 TOOK CAR INTO DEARLERSHIP 7/12 PICKED CAR UP FROM DEALERSHIP, TOLD ME THEY MADE AN ADJUSTMENT 7/14 STILL NOT FIXED SAME PROBLEM, TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP , TECHNICIAN SAID IT NEEDED A PART THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED- WOULD OVERNIGHT FOR 7/18 DELIVERY 7/19 TOOK CAR BACK IN. DEALERSHIP KNEW NOTHING ABOUT A PART, SAID THAT HYUNDAI WAS AWARE OF ISSUE AND DID NOT HAVE A FIX. SERVICE DEPT SAID I SHOULD DRIVE IN 'SPORT' MODE AND IT WOULD HAPPEN LESS 7/19 CALLED HYUNDAI CONSUMER AFFAIR AND PUT IN CLAIM. I WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD GET IN TOUCH WITH ME 3-5 DAYS. WHEN LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND BEGAN TO APPLY GAS PEDAL. CAR IS IN DRIVE, STANDARD MODE. ENGINE WOULD REV, BUT VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. SWITCHED TO MANUAL SHIFT AND STILL NO MOVEMENT. PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE, BUT VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE, THOUGH ENGINE WOULD REV. ONCE TRAFFIC CLEARED FROM BEHIND ME, I WAS ABLE TO ENGAGE REVERSE AND BACK THE VEHICLE INTO A PARKING LOT. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT STILL WOULD NOT ENGAGE ANY OF THE FORWARD GEARS, BUT WOULD ENGAGE REVERSE GEAR. I WAITED AN HOUR WITH THE VEHICLE RUNNING AND IN PARK FOR THE TOW TRUCK TO ARRIVE. EVEN THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR COULD NOT MAKE THE VEHICLE ENGAGE A FORWARD GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. AFTER ONE WHOLE DAY AT THE SERVICE REPAIR, THEY CANNOT TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG.

I PUT IT IN PARK, THEN DRIVE AGAIN, NOTHING BUT REVVING. TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON SEVERAL TIMES, STILL NOTHING. LUCKILY MY FRIEND WAS ABLE TO PARK BEHIND ME WITH HER HAZARDS ON TOO, TO PREVENT PEOPLE FROM REAR-ENDING ME. THE CAR WOULD GO IN REVERSE BUT NOT FORWARD. WE PUSHED IT OUT OF THE ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A HYUNDAI DEALER, AND AFTER ABOUT AN HR OR SO THEY SAID THEY RESET THE COMPUTER AND IT SHOULD BE FINE. I HAD ALREADY HAD THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. I GOT THE CAR IN OCT 2015, AND AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT IT HAD 9800 MILES ON IT. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT NOW, IT GETS SLUGGISH OR REVS AT VARIOUS TIMES, WHICH MAKES ME THINK IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. LAST NIGHT, I WAS IN A TRAFFIC JAM DUE TO ANOTHER CARS ACCIDENT. I WAS GOING LESS THAN 5 MILES PER HOUR IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC FOR 20 MINUTES. AFTER THE TWO LANES WERE MOVING, I PRESSED ON THE GAS AND THE ENGINE REVVED UP, BUT THERE WAS NO FORWARD MOTION. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TRIED AGAIN AND STILL NO MOTION. I TURNED THE CAR OFF TO RESET AND SAT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES NO MOTION. I PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON BECAUSE NOW I WAS MAKING TRAFFIC BE BACKED UP. A POLICE OFFICER BUMP PUSHED MY CAR WITH HIS POLICE VEHICLE, SO I COULD GET OUT OF THE TWO LANE ROAD, SINCE IT WAS NOT SAFE TO PUSH THE CAR INTO A SAFER AREA FOR TOWING. HE SCRATCHED UP MY BUMPER DO THESE ACTIONS, WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE, AND I WOULD LIKE HYUNDAI TO FIX MY BUMPER. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR BECAUSE NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, AND IT IS A 2016 LIMITED TUCSON, WHICH CAME WITH ALL THE PERKS, AND YET NOTHING SHOWED UP WHEN I TOOK IT TO A HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER. THE MECHANIC WITNESSED THE SAME PROBLEM AFTER I HAD IT TOWED THERE, THE FOLLOWING MORNING. THEY WORKED ON IT AND SAID IT COULDN'T BE FIXED BECAUSE THERE WERE NO WARNINGS LIGHTS OR COMPUTER ERRORS. THEY SAID IT WAS A DUAL CLUTCH SYSTEM PROBLEM AND THEY COULDN'T FIX IT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT'S BEING DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THAT IS HAPPENING NATIONALLY, AS I HAVE SEEN MANY REPORTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AT THE STATE HIGHWAY INTERSECTION WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING WAITING FOR THE SIGNAL LIGHT TO TURN GREEN TO TURN LEFT ONTO THE STATE HIGHWAY. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. IT WAS IN DRIVE GEAR AND THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING BUT IT WOULD NOT GO FORWARD EVEN THOUGH THE ENGINE WAS DEFINITELY RUNNING AND THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR CODE LIGHTS SHOWING ON THE DASH TO INDICATE A PROBLEM. I TURNED ON THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS AS THERE WERE SEVERAL VEHICLES COMING UP BEHIND ME AT THE SIGNAL. I THEN TRIED PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK THEN BACK INTO DRIVE BUT THE VEHICLE STILL COULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. I TRIED PUTTING THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE BACKWARDS EITHER. I THEN TRIED TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF THEN BACK ON SEVERAL TIMES USING THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION BUT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT MOVE. A POLICE OFFICER ARRIVED, PARKED BEHIND ME, AND ASSISTED WITH TRAFFIC NOW BACKED UP BEHIND ME. HE CALLED A TOW TRUCK FOR ME AND MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALER WHERE I HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE A FEW MONTHS AGO. I WAS INSTANTLY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AND BE A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. AS IT WAS, I WAS IMMEDIATELY CONCERNED THAT SOMEONE COMING UP BEHIND ME MIGHT CRASH INTO ME AFTER THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN WHILE I WAS IMMOBILE AT THE SIGNAL. I ASKED A LADY WHO ASKED ME WHAT WAS WRONG WHEN SHE DROVE AROUND ME IF SHE COULD SEE MY FLASHERS AND SHE SAID SHE HAD. BOTH THE POLICE OFFICER AND MY HUSBAND CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY THE VEHICLE COULD NOT MOVE.

THIS ALSO HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A PARKING GARAGE FOR 7 HOURS. MOSTLY IT HAS BEEN WHEN THE WEATHER HAS BEEN IN THE 85-95 DEGREE RANGE. THIS A A NEW VEHICLE WITH VERY FEW MILES.

INTERMITTENT ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION FAILING TO ENGAGE 1ST GEAR FROM A STOP. ENGINE REVS BUT NO POWER GOES TO THE WHEELS. HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS ON A VEHICLE WITH 2500 MILES. RESTARTING THE VEHICLE RESOLVED THE ISSUE ONCE BUT NOT ON THE OTHER OCCASIONS.
FAILS TO FULLY ENGAGE GEARS, FEEL LIKE TRANSMISSION HAS SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR, WON'T ALWAYS GO INTO FIRST GEAR WHEN STARTING OUT. OR GOES INTO FIRST AND SECOND IS NOT THERE, NO POWER TO MOVE UNTIL FOOT IS LIFTED OFF ACCELERATOR, WAIT A FEW SECONDS THEN TRY AGAIN.
TRANSMISSION FAILS TO ENGAGE. IT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME RIGHT IN THE MORNING FROM MY DRIVEWAY. PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND CAR WAS INCHING FORWARD WHILE GIVING IT PLENTY OF GAS/RPMS. CAR FINALLY WENT INTO GEAR AND STARTED TO MOVE AND WAS DRIVING NORMAL FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT SINCE IT ONLY HAPPENED ONCE. THEN ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER, STOPPED AT RED LIGHT, ONCE IT TURNED GREEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND THE SAME THING, INCHING FORWARD, HIGH RPMS, FINALLY TOOK GEAR AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND MANY UPSET PEOPLE BEHIND ME. THIS BRING ME TO YESTERDAY, STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN TO CROSS A BUSY NON-STOPPING CROSS TRAFFIC, WAITING TO CROSS THE STREET, FOUND AN OPENING AND STEPPED ON THE GAS EXPECTING THE CAR TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. I HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO MOVE THROUGH, BUT SUDDENLY MY CAR JUST DECIDED TO NOT MOVE WHILE STUCK RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. ONCOMING CAR HAD TO SWERVE AND NEARLY HIT MY HOOD. FINALLY CAR STARTED TO MOVE TO BARELY MAKE IT OUT OF THE WAY FOR THE 2ND ONCOMING CAR, SCARY STUFF. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND TOLD THEM ABOUT MY 2 INCIDENTS AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS "NORMAL FOR THE TURBO". ALSO, I NOTICED THAT WHEN I DRIVE UP AN INCLINE (SAY A PARKING GARAGE) WHEN I GET TO THE TOP AND LEVEL OUT, MY CAR GETS A HUGE RUSH OF RPMS AND IM NOT EVEN STEPPING ON THE GAS. NOT SURE IF THIS IS AT ALL RELATED, BUT JUST ASSUMING THAT IT IS PART OF THE BIGGER PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. CAR IS 2016 TUCSON, LIMITED, ULTIMATE PACKAGE, AWD I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR AT ALL. I HOPE THERE IS A FIX FOR THIS SOON.
INTERMITTENTLY WHEN CAR IS TAKING OFF FROM A STANDSTILL, THE ENGINE WILL REV BUT NO POWER IS TRANSMITTED TO THE WHEELS. THIS HAS RESULTED IN ME BEING STUCK AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS UNABLE TO MOVE. I WILL SHIFT INTO PARK AND BACK INTO DRIVE TO MAKE SURE I HAVE THE APPROPRIATE TRANSMISSION SELECTION. AFTER ABOUT 15-20 SECONDS OF REPEATEDLY STEPPING ON AND OFF THE GAS, THE CLUTCH WILL SLOWLY CATCH ON AND THE VEHICLE WILL BEGIN MOVING AND RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLICATE ON COMMAND WHICH IS TROUBLESOME WHEN CONSULTING THE DEALER. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME THREE TIMES OVER THE PAST THREE MONTHS IN BOTH COLD AND WARM ENGINE STATES. USUALLY PRESENTS WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF STARTING THE CAR.
TRANSMISSION ACCELERATION LAG/UNPREDICTABILITY AND POOR SHIFTING CAUSES UNSAFE CONDITIONS. PRIMARILY WHEN STARTING FROM STOPPED POSITION BUT WHEN DRIVING ALSO. ENGINE WILL REV BUT VEHICLE WON'T MOVE AND SUDDENLY IT WILL SHIFT INTO GEAR SOMETIMES LUNGING FORWARD.
I HAVE A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON TURBO. WHEN I FIRST GOT IT I THOUGHT THE GAS PEDAL WAS STICKING BUT COME TO FIND OUT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN "UPDATED " TWICE BUT THE CAR CONTINUES TO CHOKE WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS AND THEN LURCH FORWARD. I BELIEVE I AM GOING TO REAR END SOMEONE. EVERYTIME I VISIT THE DEALERSHIP I COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEIR SOLUTION IS TO "DRIVE IT LIKE A STICK SHIFT". I BOUGHT AN AUTOMATIC........
AT SLOW START STOP SPEED THE CAR WILL AT TIMES NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATOR,CAR WILL NOT MOVE FOR A FEW SECONDS. CONTRARY TO MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS PROBLEM THE ENGINE DOES NOT REV , IT IS AS IF THERE IS NO CONNECTION TO THE FOOT PEDAL.USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN EDGING FORWARD TO EXIT A DRIVEWAY.I HAVE BEEN NEARLY T-BONED MANY TIMES.ONLY FORSIGHT HAS KEPT ME OUT OF TROUBLE SO FAR BUT I'M AFRAID SOME DAY MY LUCK WILL RUN OUT.
HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN YOU GO TO ACCELERATE IT STAYS IN NEUTRAL. THIS HAPPENS WHEN MOVING. SOMETIMES IT DOWNSTHITS FOR NO REASON WHICH MADE YOU SLOW DOWN. TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS. ALSO WHEN YOU TRY TO MOVE THE DRIVING STICK TO MANUAL IT WON'T SWITCH OVER.
WHILE SITTING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS/STOP SIGNS, UPON ACCELERATION THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. RPMS INCREASED HOWEVER THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. USUALLY PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK THEN BACK TO DRIVE WOULD WORK. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE SHOP ON JULY 6,2016 THE DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE ON THE COMPUTER, AS WELL AS THE TECH DRIVING DID EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN VERY GOOD WITH KEEPING US UP TO DATE. WE WAITING TO HEAR FROM HYUNDAI ON HOW THEY INTEND ON FIXING THIS ISSUE. I AM BEING TOLD THEY COULD POSSIBLY HAVE THE CAR FOR 3 WEEKS OR LONGER. THE CAR HAS BEEN DEEMED UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
TRANSMISSION NOT PROVIDING POWER TO THE WHEELS FROM A STANDING STOP. THE ENGINE ACCELERATES, BUT THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE. FIRST INSTANCE WAS TRYING TO TURN FROM A STOP. SECOND INSTANCE WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. REVERSE WORKED, CAR STOPPED DRIVE. THIRD INSTANCE WAS AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND PLACING IT IN DRIVE. INTERMITTENT PROBLEM THAT WAS DUPLICATED AT THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN ENTERING TRAFFIC OR TURNING IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. TWO INSTANCES OF BEING STOPPED FOR 15 TO 20 SECONDS. THE OCCURRENCE AT THE DEALERSHIP LASTED ABOUT 30 MINUTES. HYUNDAI USA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.
MY CAR WAS 8 DAYS OLD WITH LESS THAN 400 MILES. WHEN PULLING OUT FROM A PARKING WITH A SLIGHT DOWNHILL DRIVE TURNING RIGHT ON TO A FOUR LANE ROAD AND EXPERIENCED NO POWER TO MOVE THE VEHICLE. I THOUGHT EITHER MY WIFE OR I ACCIDENTALLY BUMPED THE GEAR SELECTOR INTO NEUTRAL BUT IT WAS IN DRIVE. TRAFFIC WAS APPROACHING AT SOMEWHERE CLOSE TO 45-50 MPH WHICH IS THE SPEED LIMIT. FORTUNATELY THE CARS COMING UP ON US WERE ABLE TO GO AROUND US. WE COASTED INTO THE OTHER DRIVEWAY ABOUT 200 FEET FROM WHERE WE ENTERED AND AFTER GETTING MY HEART RATE DOWN I WAS ABLE TO GET IT IN GEAR. WE DROVE AROUND THE LOT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO RENTER THE HIGHWAY. THIS WAS OUR SECOND DAY OF A 9 DAY VACATION TRIP ABOUT 200 MILES FROM HOME. WE STAYED ANOTHER WEEK AND SEVERELY LIMITED OUR DRIVING, I FILED A CASE WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE AND CALLED MY SALES REP AND SERVICE DEPT AND SAID WE WERE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THE RETURN TRIP HOME SINCE IT INVOLVED WINDING MOUNTAIN ROADS FROM 7000 FOOT ELEVATION TO 1000 FEET IN PHOENIX. HE ARRANGED A RENTAL CAR FOR OUR RETURN AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. WE TOOK THE RENTAL BACK AND THEY SUPPLIED US WITH A LOANER TO USE UNTIL JULY 11. WE ARE LEAVING TOWN AGAIN AND RETURNING ON THE 28TH SO THEY WILL HAVE OUR CAR TIL THEN. WE SINCERELY HOPE A FIX IS FOUND BY THEN AS WE REALLY LIKE THE CAR AND WANT TO KEEP IT BUT IF A FIX IS NOT FOUND WE WILL HAVE TO DETERMINE PLAN B. *TR
SOMETIME WHEN UP PULL OFF FROM A STOP THE CAR WILL STOP PULLING FORWARD AND THE RPM'S WILL RUN UP TO 4000-5000 AND THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. YOU HAVE TO PUT IN BACK INTO PARK THEN BACK TO DRIVE TO GET IT MOVING AGAIN. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN YOU ARE MAKING A TURN WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC COMING AT YOU.
THE VEHICLE HAS REFUSED TO ACCELERATE 3 TIMES WHEN THE TEMP IS > 90 DEGREES AND THE VEHICLE HAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN/LIGHT. IT ACTS LIKE THE CLUTCH ON A MANUAL TRANSMISSION IS ENGAGED, BUT IT'S AN AUTOMATIC. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN 3 TIMES AND THE MILEAGE IS ONLY 6300 MILES. I PUSH THE ACCELERATOR DOWN AND THE ENGINE REVS, BUT NO VEHICLE MOVEMENT HAPPENS. IT TAKES > 30 SECONDS BEFORE THE VEHICLE RELUCTANTLY MOVES. IT IS A VERY SCARY SITUATION WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC.
