Right front window motor runs but window does not go up or down
My backup, my reverse is not working after 30 minutes the car is running.
The teeth within a spool in the window regulator easily strip out leaving the window unable to be opened or closed. This has happened on three out of four windows on my vehicle.
Left rear door lock will not Release when exterior or interior latch handle Is pulled to open door
In December 2023 I purchased my first car, a 2016 Hyundai Tucsan Limited Edition. The car had approx. 70k miles. After only 9 months, I noticed I was unable to gain access into the rear passenger side door. I quickly ruled out child locks, faulty fuses, and any other issues as directed in the owners manual. The window is still functional. As of today, 10/10/24 Ive had no luck being able to open the door. The mechanic stated it was an issue with the locking mechanism and quoted us for over $1400/$4000. He stated this is a common occurrence with this model. I find this issue with my newly purchased car, that I keep serviced and in perfect condition to be unacceptable. It is a major safety issue for me and my family. I am in school and work full time and I can not afford this type of repair. This type of issue should be recalled.
Left driver side window conked out, does not go up or down.
The window regular failed is to weak don't last long Have replaced all 4 and replacing the back one again
9/11/24 the 2016 Hyundai Tucson had a knock in the engine, the car was towed to beaverton Hyundai for inspection and I was told that it was Rod Bearing failure that caused engine failure and that this was a known issue for Hyundais Theta II engines and it would be $18k repair. Hyundai just settled a billion dollar class action lawsuit for rod bearing failure where check engine and oil lights failed to illuminate. I asked for a PA to be submitted to Hyundai motors America, as suggested by my usual shop Dick’s Hillsboro Hyundai(whom didn’t have availability soon enough). The PA was denied stating “this is normal wear for a vehicle at 70k miles and it’s out of warranty.” This repair is not a cause my the consumer, but by a manufacturer defect. And I should not be expected to replace the engine at $15k after paying $20k 3 years ago when I bought the car. Hyundai is being negligent.
Driver side door window stopped working. Not able to close or operate window. Hyundai dealer diagnostic found window regulator inoperable/needs replacement. Two (2) local Hyundai dealers have ordered the regulator and are still waiting for part. Dealer one not able to get regulator after 18 days; Dealer two hoping part will be in after 10 days of ordering.
I went to roll up my window and I could hear it trying to go up but the window stayed in place. With my window stuck down, there is the risk of things flying in/out of my car while driving, and in the event of rain, my car would then become damaged if water got inside. Also, with a window stuck down, anyone can get into my car. This first occurred to my front passenger window on September 8, and just happened to my drivers window today, November 1. Both times occurred when my car was not moving. The passenger window was fixed in October and was diagnosed with the regulator and motor needing to be replaced.
All four window regulators have failed. The plastic gear has totally disintegrated and has had to be replaced. I have noticed that this has been reported by customers numerous times. I hope that we may be reimbursed for the failure of the part since it is very, very common among these models. I have retained all receipts for parts and labor.
I had my top engine block (not sure why not a full engine replacement) replaced under warranty June 2023. Shortly after the fix my AC unit stopped working. Once I got my AC unit fixed, about 1.5 months after my engine was not performing. My car would not turn over and when it did, it was in limp mode and would not run properly. I had it towed to dealership who could not find the issue until after they took out of the bay and went to move it, it wouldn't start. They replaced the crankshaft positioning sensor and it wasn't covered under the extended warranty. The top engine block only has 10k warranty which is fast approaching. Took car home and when accelerated past 60 car shakes and when i brake car shakes. Now car cabin smells of gas. All cars with KM are having multiple issues. Dealership not calling back regarding gas issue and has not responded to if they touched my tires. Local Mechanic said all my wheels were unbalanced.
The car door handles are failing to work properly. Initially (June 2024), the passenger side front door required the handle to be pumped twice before it would open. The door would open correctly from the inside only. That problem was corrected. Now (Aug 2024), the driver side rear door handle has failed and the door cannot be opened from the outside or inside. The precise nature of that issue will be determined tomorrow. In June, I was told by the service advisor at Jenkins Hyundai of Ocala [Florida] that Hyundai is aware of an issue with the functioning of door handles (i.e., the actuator) and has extended the warranty from five to ten years for this issue. I my judgment, this is a major safety issue if a door cannot be opened.
loss of power, transmission slipping. unable to get car to move creating hazard. happened 5 times. Diagnosed by dealer as systemic transmission component failure and known issue. many of the same complaints on internet, Code p1921
Ongoing engine problems with an oil consumption issue for the duration of first having the car (2021-2024). That is common with this year of Hyundai. Hyundai Dealership won’t replace engine until warranty is up and you are left with a car that doesn’t run and a quote for a $14k engine.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked at the residence, the rear doors on the driver’s and passenger’s sides were not opening as needed after several attempts of locking and unlocking the doors. The vehicle was not towed to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
Vehicle started to shake and lost acceleration. Gave engine Code P073F Unable to engage gear 1. Hyundai shows Recall Campaign for this issue but dealer refuses to acknowledge it, and says it needs new transmission. They state transmission damaged clutch rather than clutch damaged transmission.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that there was a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that the low oil and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle had been taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the engine oil had been totally consumed. The contact was made aware of coolant intrusion into the engine and that the pistons were misfiring. The mechanic stated that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the Extended Warranty on the vehicle did not cover excessive oil consumption. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.
Driver window won’t go up & front passenger window won’t go down.
Have had to replace the regulator in all four windows. Seems to be a pretty common problem online. Reporting this so hopefully enough people say something that Hyundai has a recall and reimburses us for the repairs. Thanks
Random engine failure. Our safety was put at risk because our car randomly stopped working while going 70 miles per hour on the interstate. The problem was confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle has been inspected by an independent service center. Our check engine light came on and within 10 minutes our car was completely broke down on the side of the road.
•Window regulator •Stops windows movement •Our independent service provider •No •No
At certain times my car doesn’t want to start. Like when there were carburetors in cars way back in the day, I literally have to pump the gas to make it start. And then once it does, it’s very hesitant to go on the road like it has no power. And then another time my car totally just shut down in the middle of traffic and would barely go, like it had no speed ability. This happens often my car is not under warranty. And it is not included in the recall with some kind of fuel pump situation. I had a mechanic look at it. He seems to think it’s something to do with the fuel pump. But unfortunately, I cannot afford the cost of repairing that, and he didn’t seem quite certain as well.
I have a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited. I have had both front windows Regulators break within the past year. I had the drivers side repaired but, was hoping there would be a recall before I spent $800 to repair the other one. But Hyundai should own up to this issue and have a recall, If they want return customers. Time to step up Hyundai
The vehicle hesitates sometimes starting from stop/idle and sometimes even when the gas paddle is completely pressed it doesn’t proceed and stalls in middle of road or red light and may take more attempts to get it to move further. I read online that there was a safety recall on this same model in 2016 for this exact same problem but I never received recall on my vehicle from Hyundai.
Passenger window regulator went out, then my window and my back passenger window went out and now I have 2 windows that cannot stay up and have paper holding them up.
There is a lot of oil consumption, and the turbo is shot. It sits in the back of the engine, which is not collecting air.
I was driving in the main road with my grandkids and the vehicle just shut down . I bought it in November of 2023. I brought it back to carmax because it was hesitating and not acting properly and it was within my 90 day warranty and they said nothing was wrong . Motor seized and turbo no good a few months later and I owe 19000 on this car and they refuse to replace the motor since I’m second owner without a warranty they were suppose to give me . I had to get people to push my car to the side and wait 2 hours for a tow and now the garage says it’s 10-11000for a motor . Carmax just said they would pay for labor charges but that still leaves me with a hefty bill on top of what I owe . I told them to just take the car and give me another or pay for the motor and they refuse . My cars now sitting at my house because I can’t afford a motor . It’s a 1.6L motor with turbo . That price is a used motor :(
There two incidents where I was driving in the highway and my car died mid driving. It put my life on risk twice. Took it to the mechanic and was told that my car was leaking oil and caused my car to have an engine misfire. My car is un drivable. There were no engine or oil lights that appeared prior to the incident and I always got my regular oil changes and had put in more oil myself. Hyundai refused to pay to the engine replacement even through this is a known issue. I’ve only had the car for two years and it’s under 100k miles.
My windows stopped operating. Both front driver and passenger. The motor runs but I am unable to roll up or down. According to what I’ve read, I am not alone. I worry for our safety and that of my family.
Oil consumption is excessive it has caused the engine to have a knocking noise even though routine oil changes have been up to date. Yes available for inspection. This may cause the engine to seize at any given point while in motion. No, I have not been able to take the vehicle to a dealership yet. No, vehicle has not been inspected. No, no check engine/warning light has turned on. Knocking noise began June 28th 2024.
-FIRST DIAGNOSED AS ROD BEARING FAILURE BY INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER. SECOND DIAGNOSIS OF ROD BEARING FAILURE MADE BY HYUNDIA DEALERSHIP. -COULD NOT ACCELERATE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, COULD NOT MOVE MY CAR TO SAFETY, TOW TRUCK HAD TO BE CALLED TO MOVE VEHICLE TO SAFETY, FURTHER TOWED TO INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AND THEN TOWED TO HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP. WAS REQUIRED TO PUT MYSELF IN DANGER (IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC) TO GET HELP. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND NO LOW OIL LIGHT CAME ON. -CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION AT HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP. -MANUFACTURER DECLINED TO HELP SINCE NO RECALL LISTED FOR MY VEHICLE AND SINCE OUTSIDE WARRANTY PERIOD, THOUGH ALMOST ALL OTHER ENGINE MODELS FOR MY VEHICLE HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE EXACT SAME DIAGNOSIS (ROD BEARING FAILURE). -NO WARNING LAMPS WHATSOEVER TO NOTIFY ME OF ANYTHING BEING WRONG-BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER MY CAR LOST ACCELERATION.
My Tucson has been using an absurd amount of oil for the past 30,000 plus miles i had it in the shop for repairs for the exhaust/ turbo leaking due to broken stud bolt that finally was covered under warranty. But did nothing for the burning of oil. No oil leaks. It used a quart for every 500 miles. Now no warranty left i have a cylinder #1 misfire and have replaced sparkplug and will not come out of limp mode. Within a mile of driving the plug is oil fouled and goes back into limp mode. Probably will get no help from Hyundai to rebuild/ replacement of the motor.
I own a 2016 Hyundai Tucson and have noticed that NONE of the doors other than the driver door will open either from the inside or outside. I have small children that I drive to and from school, activities. If we were to get into a wreck or were to run off rode into a body of water my children could drown or die due to doors not opening. This seems to be a very common issue with Hyundai and needs to be addressed and recalled and fixed by dealership immediately!
Rear doors will not open from inside or outside. This traps passengers if they are in the back seats. Back seats can only be accessed by climbing in from the front seats
The driver's side back door will not open from the inside or outside. There was no warning or damage down to cause this, just one day it would not open. From research on the internet this is a common problem with a 2016 Tucson and is due from the lock actuator and is not being recalled. This is a huge safety risk if someone needed to exit the backseat quickly.
The engine sometimes stalls and does not accelerate in relation to the pressure applied to the gas pedal. This has caused me scenarios where I am waiting to make a left turn and putter into the lane of opposing traffic, instead of accelerating through the turn. Another symptom of the engine is burning engine oil excessively. I am not aware if the issues are related or not.
I have been dealing with ongoing engine performance problems for over a year. My Tucson consumes oil at an abnormal rate, and I constantly have to refill it. There is also sluggish acceleration, and the Check Engine Light has stayed on despite multiple inspections and maintenance efforts. I’ve seen hundreds of complaints about this exact issue from other Hyundai owners. I also found that an NHTSA investigation is ongoing, yet Hyundai continues to deny responsibility, often blaming the issue on the owner. I believe this is a safety concern and a manufacturer defect that needs to be addressed before more drivers experience full engine failure. Please investigate this further and include my VIN in any future action or recall.
Front passenger regulator went out. 1 month later rear passenger and driver rear regulator went out. Currently only have 1 potenworking window with a child under the age of 18 that riders in this vehicle a primary vehicle. Extremely unsafe if there was an emergecy.. Seeing others online having same issue.
The passenger door window rolled down but would not come back up. I was able to grab the window and pull it up. This is a safety issue because anyone can just push the window down. Not too mention if an officer needed you to roll down the window you could not.
I can not get my rear left passenger door to open from either inside or outside.
Both rear doors will not open from inside or outside. This began 3 years ago, with intermittent opening issues. For the last six months, neither rear door will open from inside, or outside. With the THOUSANDS of complaints I have seen online, one would THINK our GOVERNMENT would DO SOMETHING!!!
Right front window will not go up Regulator bad
Three of the four windows will not roll up and down.
Drivers side rear passenger door will not open most times. In an emergency situation a rear passenger would not be able to exit.
All Windows regulators failed one after another. They make sound when trying to close but nothing happens. The windows get stucked.
I have three doors on my Tucson affected. Back passenger door will not open at all from the inside or outside. The driver’s will open if I lock and unlock three or four times and pull the handle three or four times. The back drivers door is now doing the same thing as the drivers door. I have looked into the cost of having it repaired and Hyundai wants over $1500 per door to fix the issue. If I pay the close to $5000 to fix these doors, which I most definitely don’t have and don’t know anybody who does, I will have paid more than half the value of the car just to fix the doors. I’ve looked online and there are hundreds and thousands of people having the same problem - multiple years of Tucson models and other Hyundai models such as the ELANTRA. My car only has 62,000 miles on it. It has only had two owners. In the six years that I have owned the car I have only had people in the backseat three or four times. This is definitely not a wear problem. It is most definitely a safety issue. If I am in an accident and unconscious and the emergency workers can’t get the door open to get to me, it’s a safety issue. If I’m in an accident and can’t get the door open to escape the car, it is a safety issue. If I am going to my car late at night by myself and can’t get into the car it’s a safety issue. I am divorced and live alone, and drive across country occasionally. If I’m stopped at a rest stop or gas station and can’t get into my car this is a safety issue. If there are children in the backseat of the car and the door can’t be opened to get to the children this is a safety issue. The back passenger door stopped working entirely about 6 to 8 months ago - it can’t be opened from the inside or outside at all. The driver’s door started having issues about 3 to 4 months ago. The back drivers door just started having the issue three days ago. I do not understand why a safety recall has not yet been issued for this problem considering the huge number of affected cars out there.
Engine is being replaced due to excessive oil consumption. First sign was engine knocking in November 2022, which resolved with oil change. July 2023, engine knocking was heard again, Hyundai dealer said car came in with no oil. Had oil changed / filled, was advised to bring car back in 1000 miles. December 2023, brought car back to dealer after ~1000 miles, no knocking but oil was 2 quarts below spec. Ladder frame was resealed and ladder frame o-ring replaced. Oil was refilled, oil pan and oil dip stick both sealed for oil consumption test. Feb 2024, car brought back to dealer after ~1000 miles, no knocking but oil was 1.8 quarts low. Combustion chamber cleaning was performed and oil refilled. Oil pan and oil dip stick both sealed for another oil consumption test. Early May 2024, car brought back to dealer after ~1000 miles, oil still apparently quite low (no details provided by dealer). Engine replacement approved by Hyundai corporate in mid-May 2024.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle lunged forward. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that when the vehicle was stopped, after depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated and then lunged forward. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V628000 (Power Train, Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
Passenger door lock-right rear door will not unlock from outside or inside
