The rear passenger door on my 2017 Hyundai Tuscon will not open from either inside or outside of the vehicle despite the door being confirmed as unlocked. This is a huge safety issue as my rear passenger, currently, my 6-year-old would effectively be trapped in the vehicle during an emergency. This also requires my son to climb up to the front seat to exit the vehicle at school as I am required to allow him to exit from the right side of the car for safety reasons. There were no warning indicators for this. The issue first appeared yesterday, 9/6/202, when I went to take my son to cub scouts and could not open the vehicle door to let him in the car. I am making an appointment with Hyundai but a basic Google search shows this is a widespread issue with Hyundai vehicles in this year range and given the grave concern for safety I do not understand why this is not a recall.
The acceleration completely stopped, while driving in the third lane, northbound on the 15 freeway in the cajon pass. The dealership informed me the transmission is the cause. The car is still with the service department now. No warning lights. No check engine lights, nothing. The power in the car remained on the car acted as if it was in neutral.
I was driving park the car and it wouldn't turn back on . I open the door and the car turn back on . The radio everything reset. Now again couples of days later I was putting gas on the car went finish the car wouldn't start like if no electricity wiered . Everything again reset I am terrified that is a electrical problem. Is to danger. It should be a recalled for this. I think this problem that I am having with my Hyundai Tucson 2017 has electrical problem. And I ain't the only one .
This car was bought 4 months ago from the Hyundai dealer lot of used cars, according to dealer car was inspected, oil changed, tires rotated etc. My daughter was driving the car on the freeway when suddenly the car began losing speed and power slowing down to about 40mph, she had to steer away from traffic coming from behing to move from the middle lane to the side shoulder, she noticed the oil warning light came on and the car engine began making a noise. When I checked the oil on the car, there was no oil and the car has been driven barely 1,000 miles
There are two problems with the car. The first is excessive engine knocking. I brought it into Island Hyundai on Staten Island. They originally denied there was an issue with some of the cars. They said for a $169 they would do a diagnostic test. They serviced the car and said it was fixed after initially denying there was a problem. The car seemed ok but over time the knocking returned. I return the had to do major engine work ie: cam shaft. Timing chain… On the second visit I complained of excessive oil loss. They checked and said it was a leaking valve cover gasket. They replaced the gasket. I took the car back and drove it. There is still excessive oil loss and still minor knocking occasionally when the car starts to move in first gear. I brought the car back in to the dealer, they claimed there was no knocking but that is what they said after the first time I brought in the car for service. They did not state that in writing on my invoice. They told me they sealed the oil access points and I should not check the oil. They did an oil consumption test. They told me to drive it and return in one thousand miles. I am returning tomorrow, Monday October 2nd to the Island Hyundai service department to have the oil levels checked. I asked if they will replace the engine if the engine fails during the consumption test. I only received a verbal yes from the service department manager at Island Hyundai. I contacted hyundai corporate to complain and have them assist me. I requested written confirmation of the engine replacement if it failed during the consumption test, They have done virtually nothing. I asked them to confirm in writing if my engine would be replaced if it failed during the consumption test. I was told they are not responsible and would have the service manager contact me. To date no one has contacted me. I have checked and I do not see any recalls for my car regarding these issues. I do however see other cars being recalled for the same issues.
The driver's door gets stuck on a regular basis preventing entrance from the outside. This problem causes an inconvenience of needing to open the door from the inside of the car. As a reference, a few years ago the same issue above occurred but with the back door in which Hyundai repaired.
the car was unresponsiveness when pushing the gas pedal, delay when accelerating, shaking, and the gears do not seem to change. this causes problems when trying to merge into traffic, make turns and anytime when acceleration is needed. We took it to the dealership said we needed a Dual Clutch kit however the vin does not have a recall therefore want to charge $2264.00. to fix the problem. it is obviously a manufacture defect. the car has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. this problem has been going on for 6 months.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH and preparing to make a left turn, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated the oil, check engine, and battery warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and noticed that the check oil light was flashing on and off. The contact drove the vehicle back to her residence and the vehicle stalled again. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
when en route to a Dr. appointment I was hearing a consistent knocking noise coming from the engine bay, the fast the rpm's were the louder the knocking sound. Upon starting the vehicle to leave the Dr. office the knocking was becoming very concerning in volume, so I decided to take it to the dealership approx. less than 4 miles. By the time that i made it to the dealership and had them inspect the noise they stated that they didnt trust the vehicle leaving their lot. It has been under their inspection process ever since. I have been having issues with them honoring the warranty i got with the vehicle upon purchase and the refuse to acknowledge the issue with the known recall on over 83% of the total Hyundai Tucson's of that years production run. When in contact with their "middle man" as she called herself, Hyundai has stated that if the engine is in need of replacement that they will only cover up to 80% of the total repair cost ($9,9**.**) leaving myself with close to $2,000 to pay for a vehicle in warranty.
My vehicle is not accelerating properly because of the transmission is failing for no reason. Sometimes it revs up to 4k RPMs and the car is barely moving. This can cause an accident since I can’t merge or change lanes quickly.
Engine seized and needs to be replaced, possibly due to bad rod bearing. Was also excessively burning oil and constantly needing to be checked prior to seizing.
This vehicle was maintained exceptionally well! But yet cylinder # 1 went out. No compression.
After the engine was replaced we are still having electrical and engine issues and dealers in Atlanta area will not accept engine repairs. The car will not start consistently and most dangerous if we use our bights (lights) for just a second even, the car will shut down and restart when the bights are released. This was in stop and go traffic on the highway The radio will stop and do a reset while driving for no reason this has happened on multiple occasions but the bright on day reported below
The dual clutch transmission is faulty. It jerks, acts like its going to stall and does not accelerate properly. It almost caused an accident while driving through an intersection. The vehicle didn't accelerate moving through the green light and acted like it was going to stall. Very dangerous!
Excess Oil Consumption, Gear slipping, Dual Clutch, Fly Wheel, Oil found in the Turbo inlet, Clutch dust found in the transmission, Encouraged to just keep adding oil and drive the vehicle. Encouraged to drive the car when there was assumed to have contaminated transmission fluid. Encouraged to keep extra oil in my car since it was consuming oil rapidly but was still considered with in specification from Hyundai. Encouraged to add oil and drive the car after it stalled and quit working. This is a known defect with Hyundai's. Some even catch fire and also stall at high speeds while being driven. This is irresponsible, hazardous, and neglectful behavior that could have hurt or even worse killed someone.
My 2017 Hyundai Tuscon excessively consumed oil. I took it into Hyundai of Kirkland. I was informed an Oil Consumption test would be completed by the Service Advisor, Chris Z. First I had my oil changed, then I was told to bring the car back in around 1000 miles. the first time I brought the car in, I was over 1000 miles. Chris informed me he would rather me bring the car back in under 1000 miles than over 1000 miles. The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle stalled but restarted. The check engine warning light was illuminated. While having an oil change at an independent mechanic, the contact was informed that the oil level was extremely low. The mechanic suggested to the contact to check the oil level regularly. The contact added approximately a 1/2 quart per month but had to add more oil over time. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the spark plugs, and ignition coil were replaced. The dealer performed two oil consumption tests however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed her that there was no compression in the engine. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 81,091.
I am not a mechanic, but I know that my engine consumes 5-8 quarts of oil every 3000 miles. In addition to the engine oil consumption problem, I have noticed a severe burning smell in my car cabin, especially on takeoff, but it lingers. Unfortunately, I have to breathe this in every time I drive my car, and it is making my headaches much worse. I have taken my car to a private mechanic's shop, and the mechanic noticed the problem during two previous oil changes. I have not yet taken my car to the police or insurance company. There have been no warning messages or lights illuminated on the dashboard.
I was driving on the Kansas turnpike at around 75 miles per hour. The tire started making a noise similar to driving on rough pavement. I pulled onto an exit ramp to check the tires. I saw a hole about 1/4” long in the sidewall and watched as the tire deflated. The tire was very hot to the touch and smoke came from the hole. I was in a unsafe area so slowly drove a few yards up the ramp where I could pull out of traffic. The tire tread had completely come off the tire and looked like it had been cut off the wheel with a knife. If the tire had come apart while traveling at a high speed, I believe I would had had a wreck. I have no idea why the tire came apart, the roads were dry and the temperature was 90 degrees F. I hit no pot hole and the was no visible puncture or nail in the tire. The tire was one of four I purchased as a set. Now my wife is afraid to drive her vehicle worried that one of the other tires may also fall apart.
The transmission consistently slips, or does not engage. It sputters, jerks, or simply does not go when the accelerator is depressed. One incident was so bad that when it finally engaged, it threw me back against my seat then sputtered and moved ahead slowly, all while merging into traffic. Very dangerous!
Was driving to work when I stopped at a light in traffic and my engine turned off. The battery and oil pressure light turned on. Started to see smoke under the hood and 5 minutes later the entire front end of the car was on fire.
We are getting a Knock sensor ERROR & Oil consumption issue. So last year I had a few recalls on my car, I took it to the dealer for then to do the updates. One of the recalls was the knock sensor. Also last year, the check engine light come on and Tires plus said it was my Knock sensor. Tires Plus cleared the code and it was fine until I had an oil change due this month I still had 3000 miles before it was due and the check engine light came on again, But this time I couldn't drive over 20 mph. I had to get it towed to a mechanic in Collegeville. His diagnostics was it was the knock sensor, He told me that Hyundai knows this is a problem but won’t fix it until it presents a problem. That being said The Collegeville Mechanic said its called a quiet recall. When I called Hyundai corp. recall center they told me that they don’t recognize quiet recalls. I had an appointment with the Springfield Hyundai Aug. 3, 2023 They would even look at it because the code was cleared but I called them first when it happened to get it towed there and they push the appointment back 3 weeks. I couldn't wait I need to get to work. I Also Recently 9/18/2023 Conicelli Hyundai and the guy told me when I got there that they have a whole lot full of Hyundai's that need Oil consumption test and would be able to look at my care un till March of 2024 That I have to take it back to where I bought it. Hyundai and Kia know of this issue but wont fix. WHY? I hope you can help me because I'm at a loss here and I have only had this car for 2 yrs I should be having this issue. I take good care if my car.
Rear passenger door will not open from either inside or outside. You can hear the lock click and the latch moves to unlocked but the door will not open when handle is pulled. This is a HUGE safety issue as anyone in the back seat CANNOT get out in case of an emergency and no one on the outside can get in! The issue began on 7/13/22 when the respective door seemed to "stick" but opened. On 7/14/22 it would not open AT ALL from either outside or by pushing from inside. I called the dealership and was told because my car was 5 years and 2 months old (but less than 60,000) it no longer fell under the manufacturers warranty. This is not a wear and tear issue. This is a complete SAFETY issue that needs to be considered for a recall and my own research has shown that this is a KNOWN issue with Hyundai vehicles lock actuators.
The 2017 Hyundai Tuscan dual clutch transmission is seizing and unable accurate above 40 -45 mph. It is also unable to engage into reverse. It will shift into reverse, however will not move even when one places their foot on the gas pedal. The Hyundai Tucson seized while driving and I was almost hit in traffic. The dealerships in the Austin area have not been helpful as the closest they state they could look at it is November or December 2022 for a diagnostic and they are not willing to honor the powertrain warranty. After doing some research it seems a commen issue among Tuscan owners and is very similar to the issue Hyundai had with recall # 149 as related to the 2016 model. The vehicle is hazardous and unsafe to drive. The vehicle is putting the safety of myself and others at risk. There was no warning what so ever until later in the day when the check engine light came on. It is available for inspection.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine). The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and had the recall remedy completed. The contact stated that on July 21, 2022, while driving at an unknown speed, the check engine and oil warning lights illuminated. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, but the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The mechanic turned off the check engine and oil warning lights. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer and had an oil consumption test at 1,000 miles. The failure persisted. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer and completed TSB: 21EM003H on the vehicle. The TSB was completed but the failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the catalytic converter to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,489.
This car was bought in 2019 from Car Max. Every few months, I get a check engine light and was part of a recall notice. I went to Hyndai Dealer CMA's Colonial Hyndai in Chester VA 23831 with the recall notice. They gave me a receipt that there are no issues on 17th May 22which was incorrect. My check engine light keeps coming on for an oil change and I had an emergency travelling from Viriginia to Atlanta and have to pull over to the closest repair shop where they indicated that recall issue was not resolved as the engine was consuming more oil faster resulting in the check engine light. I was surprised to hear that as the dealer indicated that there are no issues with regards to the recall. This was unacceptable from a dealer who was supposed to diagnose the problem and let the customer know that the engine problem still exists and you need to have engine oil changed every 2 months. If an engine recall indicates the engine requires a replacement they should have done an honest job and not fill the engine oil and let the customer know that there are no issues. I have all the documentation from the dealer that no issues were found but every day I drive, I am worried that car could stop anytime which is unnecessary stress owning this car. Any help in escalating this issue with the dealer or Hyundai in doing the right thing for their defective manufacturing will be appreciated.
Transmission jerks and shakes intermittently while slowly moving forward, can shake very violently, for example, waiting in line or at a stop light with foot on brake/slow release.
On my Drive seat the recline switch with not go back only forward. The dealer explain to me that the switch is going to cost me over $700 . I recplace the Power Seat Switch for $49.99 and the Power Seat Switch Knob only cost $ 12.48 , Now I am going replace the motor $257.22
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle was making a knocking sound and started decelerating. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled the vehicle safely off to the side of the road and left the engine running. The contact checked the dipstick and observed that there was no oil in the engine. The contact drove the vehicle back to her residence and later the vehicle was towed to a dealer. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
I was driving my vehicle down the road when all of a sudden I started to lose power and my motor started rattling so I pulled over and cut the car off and I had it towed to a repair shop where they said it was a recall on my engine and my warranty wouldn't pay for my vehicle to get fixed because of the recall so I called capital Hyundai in Montgomery and they saying it's gonna be 5-6 months before my vehicle can get checked out and how do I supposed to get back and forth to work and they telling me they can't do anything about getting a rental and I would have to pay for it out of my pockets
The driver side passenger door will not open with pulling on the door handle multiple times, about 10+ tries with a lot of force to get the door open. This is not a lubrication issue, I have lubricated the locking mechanism and is hasn't helped at all. Imagine if the car rolled over and was on fire and this door wont open, its terrifying to think. There are no warning lights, the only way I found out that this was a widespread issue was on a car forum. I imagine that this is happening to many others, but they are not reporting it. Just to be clear, this isn't a door lock actuator issue, the locks are unlocking and locking just fine, there is a fatal flaw with the latching mechanism.
On June 18, 2022 I experienced a knocking noise from under the hood of my 2017 Hyundai Tucson Sport, after a regular day of driving - just reaching 80,000 miles on the odometer. I immediately checked the oil and the dipstick was completely dry. There were never any indication lights or alerts to warm me of low oil or engine issues. I had 1,000 miles left until my next oil change, and have always kept up on routine maintenance - I have all records as evidence. I have called Hyundai customer service, filed a claim, and within the next few days they closed the case and said they would not cover costs of a new engine. I took my vehicle in for a diagnostic test, results came back as “internal failure in the engine bearing” - the mechanic said it would be around $9,700 to replace.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 35-40 MPH, the contact noticed an abnormal burning odor before the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The contact stated upon opening the hood, she smelled a strong burning odor. The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact that they could only complete the open recall repairs on the vehicle before July 2022. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,409.
Car has randomly and completely shut down while driving (electrical components flash on the interior) with no ability to accelerate on four different incidences on 05/18/22, 05/19/22, 05/27/22 and 06/17/22. Requested an appointment at my dealership to have the car inspected on 06/01/22 but was called 2.5 hours before the appointment on 06/18/22and informed that they could not inspect on the day I had selected. Without the ability to accelerate, had to coast to the side of the road to stop. To reset the vehicle, the vehicle has to be placed in park, shut off, and restarted. Three of these instances were in the city with very little room to pull over and one instance was on the highway at 65 mph and I had to navigate across two different lanes of traffic without the ability to accelerate. There have been no warning signs before the instances occurred.
I took in my 2017 Hyundai Tuscon after the engine had stalled while driving. While in the shop, the engine was replaced which was part of a recall (Campaign 209) and also recalls 195 and 966 was addressed. After the repairs and driving home from the dealership, the engine and air conditioning started making weird noises and the following warning lights went on: ABS, power steering, and electronic stability control. When this happened, steering became difficult. We brought the car in the shop, but they denied there was any problem. Within two days after brining the car back to the dealership, the same problem occurred. And now the car will not even turn on.
Tucson currently has 98,000 miles on the engine and is burning extreme amounts of oil. Oil consumption issues became known as early as 75,000. Per 1,000 miles of driving, the Hyundai dealership notes the car is losing over 2 quarts of oil. I have been having to return to the dealership every 1,000 miles to be monitored. I have already had to pay replace my catalytic converter, which I believe was a result of the excess rate of oil burn from the engine. I have also had to pay to replace the oil gaskets in the oil pan even though there was no noticeable sign that the engine was leaking oil. I am now being told I am going to need to have an engine head cleaning repair that will take several days. Once that is complete, I will have to undergo continued oil consumption testing to determine the results. They are requesting I produce my service records or Hyundai will not cover the repairs. Almost all of the service on this vehicle was done at the dealership and I was never notified of any issue with oil consumption. A separate mechanic, while performing a quote, did an oil change and noted the car was completely out of oil. This engine is well known for its oil consumption issues and Hyundai does not seem to want to take responsibility for their defective engine.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle there was a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. While inspecting the vehicle it was discovered that the engine oil was extremely low, even though the oil had been recently changed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who initiated an oil consumption test. No further information was available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.
transmission stutters on light acceleration from a rolling stop or after slowing for a turn and then speeding up. It feels like it is jumping between gears. I can recreate it by slowing from 50 mph to 40 mph (you can feel it downshift at or near this speed) and gently accelerate back to 50 mph. The car 'bucks' until it gets fast enough to shift. I can put the car in "manual shift" (it is an automatic transmission) and this doesn't happen. That makes me feel it is a computer shift control issue.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine). The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, she heard abnormal knocking sounds coming from the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the knocking sounds became louder while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact was able to continue driving, however, the failure reoccurred increasingly and the vehicle stalled several times while driving. The check engine warning light was then illuminated. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and continued driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the repair could not be completed under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine) as the contact failed to complete oil changes on the due dates. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, there was a loss of motive power as the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact mentioned that there was a loud knocking sound coming from the engine. The vehicle was not able to be restarted. AAA was able to restart the vehicle and noticed that there was no oil in the engine. AAA added engine oil and the contact was able to drive the vehicle to her residence. The loud knocking sound persisted and the vehicle was leaking engine oil. The contact called the dealer and they declined to diagnose the vehicle until July 2022 or possibly later. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic however it was then towed to the dealer due to the contact being aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine) however, the dealer was refusing to service the vehicle under the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and declined a loaner vehicle. The failure mileage was 40,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Powertrain: Vehicle losses power especially going up inclines or hills. This happened before and I spent over 4500 dollars on repair of a catalytic convertor that failed. This was Late may of 2022. Now the car is back at a Hyundai dealership because the Catalytic Convertor has failed again it is Feb 2023. The car has extreme oil consumption which is one of the causes of catalytic convertor failures. The car in November of 2022 had a loss of power again but this time coils failed. Had all three coils and spark plugs replaced. The certified mechanic shop gave me the spark plugs and it was if they had a black felt on the tip of them. The mechanic said this was a sign of high oil consumption. High oil consumption is also a cause of coils and spark plugs failing prematurely. I have records to show how much oil I have bought and it is about 3 quarts every 1-2 months depending on how much I drive. This is extremely high and a sign of a faulty engine. It puts me in danger of being rear ended in traffic or on an open highway because it losses power. I use my car for work and sometimes that work takes me to small country towns. My work sometimes mean I get back when it is dark or get up when to get to work when it is dark. A car failure on a dark country road is unsafe. Yes a Hyundai dealearship in Decatur and Lubbock TX as well as a certified mechanic in Keller Texas can attest to no warning lights or codes and the car has high oil consumption. Inspected by two different hyundai dealarship service repair locations NO warning lights, no check engine lights, nothing to give notice of a problem about to occur. I have tried to deal with Hyundai but they refuse to accept that the issues are due to a bad manufactured engine. However all the signs point to that is the problem. Lastly the check brake light comes on but mechanics can never find a problem. So they replace the bulb but it just keeps happening. It will come on , stay on for a day , then go off. Just periodic
The rear passenger door is unable to be opened from either the inside or outside. The door is unlocked and unless I push on it from the outside first, it can not be opened.
Two of the 4 doors no longer open from either the inside or outside. They are not locked and are not damaged in anyway, they just stopped opening. This is a safety hazard as someone could get trapped in my car, or unable to get into the car to avoid danger.
My engine seized
Kumho 225/60 R17 99H Original equipment tires on my Hyundai Tucson 2017. A little over a month ago we noticed a wobble in the front and I have a car at highway speeds and even lower speeds as well. When I removed the front passenger tire to inspect it I noticed there was bulging in the tread and the tire would not roll across the floor smoothly. I checked the rear passenger side tire at the same time and it also had bulging in the tread and would not roll smoothly across the floor without tipping over when it hit the bulge. I believe these tires should be recalled along with the other batch of Kumo tires from the same time. That have already been recalled. I took the car into the local Hyundai dealer in Anchorage and had a new set of tires put on a couple days ago and the service personnel at the dealership can verify that these tires are defective. I have the tires in my possession and would be happy to turn them in to be inspected.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that the oil warning light was illuminated and the vehicle would not properly accelerate. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.
Without warning, my car stalled and came to a stop while I was driving it. No warning lights had come on prior to the incident, but several came on after it stopped. I put the vehicle in park and attempted to restart it, and even though the start button lights indicated the the car was on, the engine would not start again. This is a safety issue because the car just stalled with no warning and I was not able to move it anywhere. If I had been on a highway or making a left turn, my children and I would have been seriously injured or killed. The car has been at the dealership since the incident, almost a week, and they have not yet looked at it or told me what is wrong with it. I have left 3 messages for the general manager and they have not responded.
There are 3 recalls associated with this VIN...unsure why you are not seeing them on your end. We got a notice in the mail last week for Hyundai Recall Number 209 NU Engine. We contacted the dealership where we purchased the car and they couldn't get us in until June 17th. On Friday, May 13th while driving down 90 interstate the car's engine died and the automobile had to be towed to the dealership. Due to worker shortages the dealer is saying it could take up to a year to fix and did not offer alternative transportation. We are now in the process of securing a rental and trying to find another automobile while still having car payments on this one that was entirely due to a manufacturer issue. We want full reimbursement of all costs associated with this hardship. (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS
