BOUGHT MY INFINITI G35 IN MAY OF 2002, EVER SINCE DAY ONE, THE DRIVER'S SEATS SEEMS TO BE MOVING, ROCKING DURING ACCELERATION AND BRAKING.. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ON A LOT OF G35'S. DEALER'S AND INFINITI HAS NOT RELESASE A FIX THAT WORKS YET AFTER A YEAR... I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM, BECAUSE TWICE MY FOOT SLIPPED OFF OF THE BRAKE PEDAL DURING BRAKING AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT..... THERE ALSO SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH LIFE OF THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WHERE THEY MIGHT FAIL PREMATURELY... MOST DRIVERS OF THE G COMPLAIN THAT THEIR PADS AND ROTORS ARE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AS SOON AS 8,000 MILES AND ARE NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY.*AK
INFINITI G35 SEDANS AND COUPES NEED FRONT BRAKE PAD AND ROTOR REPLACEMENTS EVERY 10,000 TO 15,000 MILES. ORIGINALLY, INFINITI WAS PROVIDING FREE BRAKE PAD AND ROTOR REPLACEMENTS, THEN HAS CHANGED THEIR MIND SAYING IT'S A PERFORMANCE BRAKE; THEREFORE, THE BRAKES ARE EXPECTED TO WEAR OUT FASTER. I'VE OWNED BMWS, AND THEY RARELY REQUIRED BRAKE REPLACEMENTS PRIOR TO 30,000 OR 40,000 MILES. *LA
I PURCHASED MY 2003 INFINITI G35 IN AUGUST 2002. WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED MY VEHICLE I NOTICED A LOT OF BRAKE DUST ON MY FRONT BRAKES. I INFORMED THE SERVICE DEPT OF THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THIS IS NORMAL. ABOUT A MONTH LATER I BEGAN HEARING A SQUEALING SOUND WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES, I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. THE DEALER EVEN BEGAN TO READ ME AN ARTICLE/PUBLICATION SUGGESTING THAT THIS WAS BECAUSE THESE WERE HIGH PERFORMANCE BRAKES. NEEDLESS TO SAY AFTER BACK AND FORTH WITH THIS DEALER AND INFINITI FOR OVER 4 MONTHS, TO NO AVAIL I LEFT THE ISSUE ALONE. NOW 6 MONTHS LATER, I REQUIRE NEW FRONT BRAKES AT ONLY 19,000 MILES. *NLM
2003 INFINITI G35- TEMPORARY LOSS OF ENGINE POWER WHILE DRIVING (UP TO 3 SECONDS) FOLLOWED BY "SLIP" AND VRC WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON. POWER THEN USUALLY RESUMES WITH THESE LIGHTS STAYING ON. NEAR ACCIDENT IN ONE EVENT WHILE PASSING TRUCK. MY MECHANIC INDICATES BOTH CAM SENSORS NEED TO BE REPLACED. INDICATES THIS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH CERTAIN NISSAN SENTRAS THAT HAD A RECALL. I CONTACTED INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS- THEY INDICATED NO RECALL ON MY MODEL. *TR
2003 G35 CP 6 SPD I WAS DRIVING ON THE 60 FWY GOING WEST @ 2:30 AM, TRAVELING ABOUT 65 MPH & ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE CAR SPIN OUT & SKIDDED ACROSS THE FREEWAY ONTO THE DIRT ALMOST HIT THE CENTER DIVIDER. I WAS SHOCK! I WAS THINKING MAN... WHAT DID IT JUST HAPPEN? FIRST I THOUGHT THERE WERE STUFF LIKE GREASE ON THE FWY THAT CAUSE THE SPIN OUT. BUT I WALK TO THE FREEWAY & THERE WAS NOTHING ON THE FWY. SO I GOT BACK INTO MY CAR TRY TO MOVE THE CAR, BUT IT WOULD NOT MOVE. IT SEEMS LIKE THE REAR-WHEEL BRAKE IS LOCKED, THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. SO I CALL THE TOW TRUCK & TOW MY CAR TO THE DEALER IN RIVERSIDE. THEN WHEN THE CAR GOT TO THE DEALER, THE MECHANIC WENT UNDERNEATH AND FOUND OUT THERE WERE PLASTIC GOT CAUGHT AROUND THE DRIVESHAFT. THEN THEY JACKED UP THE CAR TO REMOVE THE PLASTIC, THEY'VE FIND OUT THAT THE BRAKE LINES ARE TWISTED, THAT'S WHY THE REAR BRAKE LOCKED UP. SO AFTER THE DEALER GAVE ME A QUOTE TO REPLACE THE BRAKE LINES. AND I ASK THEM ISN'T THAT A DEFECT FROM MANUFACTURE? THEY TOLD ME NO, THEY BLAME ON ME THAT I RAN OVER THE PLASTIC & CAUSE THE BRAKE TO LOCKED. DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO YOU? BRAKE IS CONTROL BY THE DRIVER, NOT ANY OBJECTS ON THE ROAD. LUCKY THERE WAS NO CARS AROUND AT THAT TIME. AND ALSO THERE WAS NOT A FREEWAY DIVIDER RIGHT NEXT TO ME, OR ELSE WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD OF HAPPEN. I COULD CAUSE A BIG ACCIDENT. SO TO ME, THIS IS A VERY MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE & NOW I DO NOT FEEL SAFETY & COMFORTABLE DRIVING THAT CAR ANYMORE, AFTER I HAD ALMOST LOST MY LIFE. THIS INCIDENT HAPPEN ONCE & IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. AND IM NOT DOWN TO GO THROUGH IT AGAIN. SO NOW, I AM REQUESTING THE DEALER TO TAKE BACK THE CAR. THE CAR IS ONLY 9 DAYS OLD AND ONLY HAVE A FEW HUNDRED OF MILES ON IT. I SPOKE TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT TAKE BACK THE CAR. CAN YOU GUYS HELP ME OUT HERE? *JB
NEEDED NEW BRAKES AT 14,000 MILES. SEEMS LIKE THE BRAKES SHOULD LAST MUCH LONGER THAN THIS. SHOULDN'T THIS BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY? I'VE SEEN ENOUGH COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THAT I FEEL INFINITI SHOULD MAKE A CHANGE AND REIMBURSE THOSE OF US WHO HAVE ALREADY HAD TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. *LA

TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT ONLY 5000MPH. *AK
FRONT END ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS. *NM THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE INSIDE TIRE WEAR DOWN WAS 2/32 . PROBLEM EXISTED WHEN THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE WAS NEW. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE REAR CAMBER SEEMS TO BE OUT AND THE REAR TIRES WERE WORN ON THE INSIDE EDGE. AFTER SERVICE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE REAR CAMBER WAS OUT OF SPEC AND WAS ADJUSTED. *TC
MY G35 AND MANY OTHER G35 OWNERS ALL SEEM TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH OUR REAR HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT (THIRD BRAKE LIGHT INSIDE THE BACK WINDSHIELD). IF THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I'VE HEARD EVEN REPLACEMENT BULBS GO OUT VERY QUICKLY, SIMILAR TO THE POWER WINDOW MOTORS THAT ALWAYS FAIL EVEN AFTER REPLACEMENT. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IF THE OWNER OF THE CAR IS NOT AWARE HIS LIGHT WENT OUT. ALSO MORE COSTLY THAN IT SHOULD BE. *TR
I OWN A 2003 INFINITI G35. THE CAR IS 7 MONTHS OLD WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALERSHIP THAT I HAD NO FRONT BRAKES. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN BECAUSE 3 LIGHTS WERE LIGHTING UP ON MY DASH FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS: THE BRAKE LIGHT, THE SLIP LIGHT, AND THE VDC OFF LIGHT. I WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THAT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY FRONT BRAKES. TO ME, THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. *JB
WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT ANY SPEED BRAKES PULSATE. THERE IS ALSO A HIGH PITCHED SOUND, AND EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. ROTORS WERE WARPED. DEALER REPLACED ALL FOUR ROTORS 3 TIMES, AND RESURFACED THEM ONCE. AT THIS TIME ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. *AK
DRIVER'S SEAT ROCKED WHILE DRIVING. DEALER HAD NO REMEDY, ADVISED CONSUMER TO DRIVE WITHOUT SEAT BELT, STATING THIS WOULD MAKE THE SEAT ROCK LESS. *AK
I RECENTLY TOOK DELIVERY OF A NEW INFINITY FX45. IT NOW HAS ABOUT 600 MILES ON IT. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE AIMED TOO LOW TO ILLUMINATE THE ROAD AHEAD. VISIBILITY IS SEVERELY LIMITED TO ABOUT 2+ CAR LENGTHS AHEAD. I CANNOT MAINTAIN MINIMAL SPEED ON AN UNLIT HIGHWAY, OR WHEN OTHER CARS ARE NOT TRAVELING WITH ME. THE DEALER STATES THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE "WITHIN FACTOR SPEC" AND WILL DO NOTHING TO ASSIST. HE WILL NOT CHECK IT AT NIGHT; NOR WILL HE CHECK MY CAR AGAINST OTHERS IN THE SHOP OR ON THE DEALERSHIP FLOOR. THE DEALER ADDS THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ADJUST THESE LIGHTS AS THERE IS NO ADJUSTMENT CAPABILITY BUILT INTO THE HEADLIGHT MODULE. THE DEALER, PEPE INFINITY, WHITE PLAINS, NY 10601, WILL NO LONGER DISCUSS THE PROBLEM WITH ME; NOR HAS ANYONE CONTACTED ME TO ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IF I CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR AFTER DARK, I WANT TO GET ANOTHER CAR OR HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. INFINITY USA SAYS EXACTLY THE SAME THING. THEIR POSITION IS THAT IF INFINITY RELEASED THE CAR, IT MUST MEET ALL FEDERAL SPECIFICATIONS, AND WILL DO NOTHING MORE. THEY DID AGREE TO LET ME VISIT ANOTHER INFINITY DEALER TO "INDEPENDENTLY" CHECK THE HEADLIGHTS, BUT IT WILL PROBABLY BE AT MY OWN EXPENSE. IN THE MEANTIME, THE CAR IS VIRTUALLY UNDRIVEABLE AT NIGHT UNLESS DRIVEN IN A LIGHTED AREA AND AT LOW SPEEDS. *NLM
I AM A 5'2" FEMALE AND HAVE A NEW G35 SPORT COUPE. THE SEAT BELT SHOLDER STRAP CUTS INTO MY NECK DO TO THE FACT THE STARTING POINT OF THE SEAT BELT IS TOO FAR BACK WHEN I ADJUST MY SEAT FORWARD IN ORDER TO REACH THE FOOT PEDALS. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THE CONSUMER DEPT. AT INFINTI AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. IF I WERE TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT, THIS SHOULDER BELT WOULD SURLEY CUT INTO MY NECK AND CAUSE MORE HARM THAN GOOD. PLEASE ADVISE. *AK

CONSTANT BRAKE NOISE - HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHEN MY BRAKES NEED REPLACING IF THEY ARE ALWAYS SQUEAKING - THAT'S USUALLY A SIGN, BUT IN THIS CASE THE ONLY SIGN WILL BE WHEN I CRASH INTO SOMETHING OR SOMEONE BECAUSE THEY STOP WORKING. *JB

I FIRST REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS (WHICH WERE WARPED) ON MY 2003 INFINITI G35 COUPE AT 14,000 MILES AFTER THEY HAD BEEN SQUEALING SINCE APPROXIMATELY 5,000 MILES. BEFORE THE REPLACEMENT I HAD TO ADD BRAKE FLUID, WHICH SHOULD NOT OCCUR ON A NEW CAR. AT 17,000 MILES I HAVE JUST REPLACED MY REAR BRAKES. INFINITI OBVIOUSLY IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE ALL BRAKE REPAIRS ARE FREE UNTIL 36,000 MILES. BUT WHAT ABOUT AFTER THAT AND WHY ARE THEY REPAIRING ONE DEFECTIVE PART WITH ANOTHER DEFECTIVE PART? I AM TRULY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE AND ITS STOPPING CAPABILITIES. I KNOW OTHER OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES AND I FEEL SOMETHING MUST BE DONE ABOUT THIS BEFORE A CATASTROPHE OCCURS. *LA

WHILE DRIVING ON AN ENTRANCE RAMP TO HIGHWAY THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO OVERPASS WHERE AN OBJECT COULD HAVE BEEN DROPPED. CONSUMER STATES VEHICLE'S CLOCK IS POORLY ILLUMINATED, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO VIEW WHEN DARK. CONSUMER STATES HAS TO TAKE EYES OFF OF ROAD WHEN ATTEMPTING TO VIEW CLOCK BECAUSE OF IT'S UNSAFE DESIGN. MR

MY BRAKE ROTORS HAVE BEEN SERVICED, CUT OR REPLACED, (5) FIVE TIMES STARTING ON 09/18/02 WITH 5,350 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. WHEN THE BRAKES WERE SERVICED AT 15,409 MILES, THE FIFTH TIME, I WAS TOLD INFINITI WILL NO LONGER SERVICE THE ROTORS UNDER WARRANTY. I MADE A COMPLAINT TO INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS WHO ADMITTED THERE WERE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT BRAKES WEARING OUT QUICKLY. BUT, THERE WAS NO ANSWER AS TO WHY MY ROTORS WARPED REPEATEDLY, AND WHY A MASTER TECHNICIAN WOULD NOT LOOK AT MY CAR.*AK
DRIVERS SEAT "ROCKS" BACK AND FORTH, SOMETIMES EMITTING A "POPPING" OR "CLICKING" NOISE, ESPECIALLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR WHILE CORNERING UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE MOVEMENT OF THE DRIVERS SEAT WHILE DRIVING THE CAR HAS CAUSED DISRUPTION OF NORMAL DRIVING HABITS, RESULTING IN ERRATIC ACCELERATION AND OVER AND UNDERSTEERING. I HAVE FOUND CERTAIN ADJUSTMENTS TO THE SEAT REDUCE THE MOVEMENT, BUT THESE ADJUSTMENTS MAKE THE SEAT UNCOMFOTABLE AND DO NOT PROVIDE THE PROPER SITTING POSITION I NEED TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE SAFELY. I SEE THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HAVE THUS NOTIFIED TWO SEPERATE INFINITI DEALERSHIPS, BOTH OF WHOM WERE UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AND ONE OF WHICH MADE THE MOVEMENT WORSE DURING THEIR "INSPECTION" OF THE FAULTY SEAT. I OWN AN INFINITI G35 WITH THE PREMIUM PACKAGE, WHICH INCLUDES LEATHER UPHOLSTERY AND A FULL-POWER DRIVERS SEAT.*AK

CONSUMER WOULD LIKE INFORMATION REGARDING RECALL REPAIRS FOR A 2003 INFINITI G35. *KB THE MANUFACTURER RECENTLY NOTIFIED THE CONSUMER OF A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. DUE TO THE DISTANCE TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP, THE CONSUMER AGE AND OTHER FACTORS THE CONSUMER FEELS IT IS NOT PRACTICAL TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE CONSUMER FEELS THERE ARE EXCELLENT GARAGES CLOSE TO HIS HOME THAT ARE CAPABLE OF CORRECTING ANY DEFECT. THE CONSUMER REQUEST THAT THE DEALER COOPERATE IN HIS ATTEMPT TO HAVE THE REPAIRS DONE LOCALLY. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT RECALL REPAIRS NEED TO BE PERFORMED BY AN AUTHORIZED INFINITI DEALER. *NM

2003 INFINITI G35 WITH ACCELERATION ISSUES. CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD WHILE SHE WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. SHE SAYS THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES. SHE SAYS SHE HAS HAD TO TURN THE WHEEL TO AVOID HITTING OTHER VEHICLES. *KB
2003 G35 AND Q45 INFINITI WITH BRAKE PROBLEMS. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE PROBLEM WITH THE Q45 WAS EXTREME VIBRATIONS WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKE; PARTICULARLY AT SPEEDS OVER 50 MPH. ON DOWN-HILL BRAKING, THE SHUDDER VIBRATION WAS PASSED ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL. *JB

WHEN VEHICLE IS AT A COMPLETE STOP WITH FEET DEPRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND AIR CONDITIONER IS ON, VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY ACCELERATE. BRAKE PEDAL HAS TO BE DEPRESSED VERY HARD TO STOP VEHICLE. CAUSE OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION IS UNDETERMINED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE TURNED 360 DEGREES, CROSSED THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC AND COLLIDED INTO THE GUARD RAIL. *PH DRIVER HAS NO INPUT FROM SLIP LIGHT AND VDC LIGHT. ENGINE ALSO STALLED. DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER THAT VDC FAILED BUT CHANGED ITS DECISION SAYING THAT BRAKES AREN'T USED BY THE VDC. HOWEVER, CONSUMER THINKS THAT BRAKES ARE APPLIED BY THE VDC, AS STATED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. *LA
