TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER A FEW MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANK AND THE CAMSHAFT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 03V455000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
THIRD HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT IS INTERMITTENT POSSIBLY CREATING CONFUSION TO DRIVER BEHIND ME. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM AND HAS BEEN REPORTED BY MULTIPLE DRIVERS ON G35DRIVER.COM. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER STATIONARY OR DRIVING. AT TIMES IT MAY APPEAR DULL.
DURING 2 RAIN EVENTS, THE HORNS BEGAN TO BLOW AND CONTINUED TO BLOW UNTIL THE BURNED OUT. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN WHILE THE DRIVER WAS NOT PRESENT, DRIVER WOULD HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING IF THE HORNS WERE WORKING UNTIL THEY WERE REQUIRED. OTHER CASES OF THIS HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED ON G35DRIVER.COM. I AM THE FIRST OWNED OF THE CAR AND IT HAS BEEN GARAGED FOR ALL OF ITS LIFE. BOTH TIMES IT HAPPENED AFTER DRIVING THE CAR AND THEN PARKING IT.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STARTED FLASHING(RED) FOR NO REASON WHILE I WAS DRIVING. WHICH MEANS IT IS INACTIVE.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW FROM BOMMARITO INFINITI IN ELLISVILLE, MO IN 2003. I HAVE INTERMITTENTLY HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE STEREO SYSTEM AND AIR-CONDITIONING/HEATER CONTROLS WORKING. AT THIS POINT, THE HEATER IS STUCK ON 90 DEGREES, CONTROLS NOT WORKING, AND ALSO THE RADIO WILL NOT WORK FROM THE CONSOLE BUT I CAN CONTROL IT FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AND SEE THAT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR AND YEAR BUT WHEN I CALLED THE INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT I WAS TOLD THAT THIS PARTICULAR PART WAS NOT RECALLED ON MY CAR BUT OTHER CARS HAD BEEN AFFECTED. THIS CLEARLY IS A ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS CARS CIRCUIT BOARD THEY SHOULD CONTINUE THEIR RESEARCH. I HAVE TO SAY AT LEAST IT IS WINTERTIME IN ILLINOIS RIGHT NOW OTHERWISE I WOULD BE DYING OF A HEAT STROKE DRIVING THIS CAR....
THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING ON A RICHMOND DR. IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. THE DIRECT CAUSE OF THE MALFUNCTION IS UNKNOWN.
DRIVEING INTO CURVE ENGINE DIED AND HAD NO POWER BRAKES AND DIFFICULT TO STEER ON CITY STREET.

FINISHER BOARD MALFUNCTION, NO DEFROSTER FOR FRONT AND REAR WINDOWS,. RADIO AND AC IMPAIRED

AFTER THE VEHICLE STALLED, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THREE CAM SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 03V455000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING), BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE, VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL, AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM SHAFT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 03V455000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

2003 INFINITI G35. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE AUDIO AND TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM RECALL ISSUES. *SMD IT WAS DETERMINED THE CONTROL WAS BAD. HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE SLIP, VDC, AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 03V455000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE CLIMATE CONTROL/ AUDIO CONTROL UNIT IN MY G35 FROZE A FEW WEEKS AGO MAKING THE SYSTEM INOPERABLE. AS A RESULT THE THE FRONT AND REAR DEFROSTERS HAVE BECOME INOPERABLE CREATING A DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITION SPECIALLY IN THE RAIN. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR ALL G35S MADE FROM 2003 -2005 AND INFINITI IS VERY WELL AWARE OF IT. HOWEVER THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO ADDRESS IT. BACK IN 2003 THEY HAVE DONE A RECALL BUT ONLY TO A LIMITED NUMBER OF CARS THAT HAD A PARTICULAR PART NUMBER. BUT THE TRUTH IS EVERY G35 WITH THE OEM UNIT IS VULNERABLE TO THIS ISSUE. IN ABILITY TO CONTROL THE DEFROSTERS AFFECTS THE VISIBILITY WHICH MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT THAT MAY RESULT IN INJURIES AND OR DEATH.
HAD MY CAR IN A NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC FOR AC PROBLEMS AND WAS TOLD THAT MY 3RD REAR BRAKE LIGHT WAS ALSO OUT. I WAS NOT EVEN AWARE OF THIS. THEN I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD NOT JUST REPLACE THE BULB, THAT I WOULD HAVE TO BUY A COMPLETE ASSEMBLY UNIT FOR THAT AND IT WOULD RUN ME $287.00 PLUS TAX!!!!! EVERY TIME I TURN AROUND SOMETHING IS COSTING ME SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I JUST PUT OUT OVER $700.00 FOR THE A/C, RADIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD, ALSO NOT ON A RECALL!

THE VEHICLE SWITCHED FROM THE NEUTRAL TO THE DRIVE GEAR. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED NORMALLY AND DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED FIVE OTHER TIMES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,582.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND DEALER AND BOTH CONFIRMED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

VEHICLE HAS AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. PREVIOUS OWNERS HAVE OWNED THE CAR WITH UNDER 100K MILES AND ALWAYS HAVE HAD OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. CURRENTLY THE VQ35DE ENGINE CONSUMES ABOUT 2 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 2 WEEKS/300 MILES..THE CAR IS ALWAYS UNDER LIGHT LOAD. CAR RARELY EVER SEES HARD ACCELERATION OR HIGH RPMS. PREVIOUS OWNER WARNED ME OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM WHICH THEY DEALT WITH FOR THE FULL TIME OF OWNING THE VEHICLE. I ALSO OWN A 2002 NISSAN MAXIMA WITH THE SAME VQ35DE ENGINE AND HAS AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM AS WELL BUT NOT NEARLY AS BAD.. ITS VERY SIMPLE TO GOOGLE VQ35 OIL CONSUMPTION AND FIND A PLETHORA OF LINKS TO ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. SEEMS LIKE THE BORE ON THE BLOCK IS MILLED INCORRECTLY WHICH CAUSES THE OIL GETTING PAST THE TOP RING. *TR
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED 03 INFINITI G35 COUPE, THE FIRST PROBLEM THAT I FOUND IS THAT WHEN REFUELING THE CAR SHUTS THE GAS PUMP NOZZLE OFF ABOUT EVERY 20-30 AND HAPPENS EVERY TIME I REFUEL REGARDLESS OF WHAT GAS STATION I GO TO. THE SECOND PROBLEM IS THE BRAKES IT'S HAPPENED TO ME TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH, BOTH TIMES WERE DRIVING SLOW AROUND 5-10MPH IN THE MORNING WHEN IT'S COLD REGARDLESS IF I LET MY CAR WARM UP FOR A FEW MINUTES OR START UP AND GO. *TR
THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF ON THE ROAD WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. IT HAPPENED 2 YEARS AGO FIRST TIME. REPLACED CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR BANK 1 AND BANK 2. IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY, WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY PREGNANT WIFE. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO AVOID ANY ACCIDENT AND PARKED ON THE SHOULDER. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP. CODE P0340 . SAME PROBLEM LIKE 2 YEARS AGO. SO THE PROBLEM COMES BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN ,EVEN WHEN THE SENSORS WERE REPLACED (OEM PARTS.) THERE WAS INFINITI RECALL ON THAT PROBLEM (RECALL # R3021) . IT WAS ABOUT A YEAR AGO WHEN I FIRST STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH MY A/C AND RADIO. A/C BLOWS INTERMITTENTLY AT WHAT EVER TEMPERATURE AND AIR LEVEL IT FEELS LIKE AND CANNOT BE ADJUSTED. THE RADIO AT THE SAME TIME CANNOT BE ADJUSTED. THE FIRST TIME THIS ISSUE HAPPENED IT LASTED FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND THEN IT JUST STARTED WORKING AGAIN. NOW IT IS LIKE IT HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN. THIS IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO USE THE DEFROSTER IN THE MORNINGS AND LATE AT NIGHT. NOT ONLY IS IT A SAFETY ISSUE BUT IT IS ALSO UNHEALTHY TO GET A CONSTANT FULL BLOW OF 62 DEGREE AIR BLASTING AT YOU WHEN IT IS 40 TO 50 DEGREES OUT SIDE. EVEN THOUGH I ADJUST THE VENTS CLOSED IT STILL BLOWS COLD AIR THROUGH THEM. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THESE CARS AND CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY NISSAN WONT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DESIGN FLAW. I ENDED UP TAKING MY CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND HAD TO PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE, NO CODES CAME UP. BUT THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THESE CARS AND THE AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 700.00.! THERE ARE SO MANY NHTSA COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU CANNOT SEE OUT YOUR WINDOW, BECAUSE YOU CANNOT WORK THE DEFROSTER!

MY VEHICLE AIR BAG LIGHT ON. STAYS ON INSPECTED AT DEALER. THEY STATED AIR BAG WILL NOT WORK DURING A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT, SAFETY ISSUE.
AS I WAS ACCELERATING TO ACCESS HIGHWAY, I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE MY VEHICLE. IT WAS AS IF I WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS. I KEPT PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL AND IT SLOWLY STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND SEEMED FINE. A FEW MINUTES LATER WHEN I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT, THE CAR DIED. I PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTARTED AND IT WAS FINE. A FEW DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AS I WAS IN THE CARPOOL LINE AT MY DAUGHTER'S SCHOOL. CAR WAS RUNNING, WHILE I WAITED AND IT SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN. WHEN I RESTARTED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ON. I CHECKED MY MANUAL AND THOUGHT IT COULD BE THE GAS CAP WASN'T ON TIGHT ENOUGH OR BAD GAS. FILLED UP MY TANK AND A FEW HOURS LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OUT. TODAY THE CAR DIED AS I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY, HOWEVER IMMEDIATELY RESTARTED. RESEARCHED RECALL INFORMATION AND CONTACTED INFINITI AND WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 03V455000. *TR

ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT THE TIME OF THE STALL. THE ENGINE KICKED BACK ON WITHIN SECONDS. WITHIN MINUTES, THE CAR STALLED AGAIN SITTING IDLE AT A LIGHT BUT DID NOT KICK BACK ON. HARD RESTART. LUCKILY IT OCCURRED IN THE MONTH OF MAY AND NOT IN JANUARY WHEN THE SNOW FLIES, AS IT COULD HAVE CREATED A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE DEFROSTER NOT WORKING. AFTER LOOKING ON-LINE, THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE TO G35 OWNERS AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS BLOGS DESCRIBING THE SAME CONDITION. IT IS DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE WITHIN THE CONTROLS FOR THE RADIO & CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS. IT APPEARS THE SAFETY ISSUE IS BEING IGNORED, POSSIBLY BECAUSE IT'S TIED TO THE RADIO. IF THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ANY ACCIDENTS/DEATHS ATTRIBUTED TO THIS, IT'S PROBABLY ONLY MATTER OF TIME. WITHIN THE NHTSA COMPLAINTS LISTING IT HAS BEEN REPORTED NUMEROUS TIMES. PLEASE DON'T IGNORE IT ANY LONGER. IMAGINE YOURSELF ON A TRIP CROSS COUNTY, IN JANUARY, AND THE DEFROSTER STOPS WORKING. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO CONTINUE DRIVING JUST TO GET TO A TOWN. I HAD PULLED UP TO DRIVE THRU WINDOW AT THE BANK AND PUT MY CAR IN PARK, WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, WHEN I FINISHED MY TRANSACTION I TRIED TO PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE BUT THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULDN'T MOVE. I FINALLY SHUT MY CAR OFF AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS AND STARTED IT AGAIN AND THE SHIFTER WORKED. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I HAVE STARTED MY CAR AND TRIED TO PUT IT IN REVERSE.
