TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT IT WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 03V455000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR THE RADIO COMPLETLY CUT OFF AND THE AIR CONDITIONING CAME ON AT FULL BLAST... I CANNNOT CONTROL ANYTHING ON THE DASH SUCH AS CLIMATE DEFROSTED OR TURNING THE DARN THING OFF. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IT WAS RAINING AND MY WINDOW WERE ALL FOGGED UP AND I COULDNT CLEAR THEM. I COULD NOT SEE OUT OF MY FRONT OR BACK WINDOWS. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE SAMETHING SOME WILL BE HURT IF INFINITI DOESNT DO ANYTHING TO RESOLVE THIS. I HAVE NO CLUE TO WHY THEY HAVENT RECALLED OR RECALLED ONLY A FEW OF THIS CAR TO FIX THE PROBLEM.IT SEEMS TO BE THE NORM. MY AUDIO AND CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM HAVE COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. I HAVE NO CONTROL OF THE REAR OR FRONT DEFROSTER WHICH IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. INFINITI ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM HOWEVER MY CAR WASN'T COVERED EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THE AC AND RADIO CONTROLS BASICALLY NONE OF THE DASHBOARD CONTROLS ARE WORKING INCLUDING DEFROSTER WHICH IS BIG SAFETY HAZARD AND AS PER INFINITI DEALERSHIP ITS A RADIO AND CIRCUITBOARD ISSUES. AFTER LOOKING AT INTERNET I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL CAMPAIGN (VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN 2003 INFINITI G35 SEDAN; AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD) FOR THIS ISSUES -> ITB03-007B SERVICE CAMPAIGN -> ISSUE DESCRIPTION LISTED BELOW AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET. BUT INFINITI DEALER IS NOT ACCEPTING ANY RECALL ON THIS GROUND AND THEY ARE ASKING FOR 1300+ BUCKS TO FIX THIS ISSUE. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP AS I CAN LIVE WITHOUT AC AND CLIMATE CONTROLS BUT NOT WITHOUT DEFROSTER. ALSO ITS A TROUBLE THAT AC AUTO TURNS ON AT FULL BLOWN SPEED WHICH CAUSE TOO MUCH COLD IN WINTER AND ITS A HEALTH RISK FOR MYSELF AND FAMILY INCLUDING 2 KIDS. DESCRIPTION FROM INTERNET - ON SOME MODEL YEAR 2003 G35 SEDANS MANUFACTURED THROUGH AUGUST 21, 2002, THE AUDIO AND TEMPERATURE CONTROLS MAY NOT OPERATE AS EXPECTED. WHEN USING THE AUDIO EQUIPMENT OR THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS, THE UNIT MAY BECOME INOPERATIVE. IN SOME CASES, THIS CAN BE CORRECTED BY TURNING THE IGNITION SWITCH OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. IN OTHER CASES, THE UNIT REMAINS INOPERATIVE AND REQUIRES SERVICE BY AN INFINITI TECHNICIAN. TO PREVENT THIS CONDITION, INFINITI HAS INITIATED A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN TO REPLACE THE AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD ON THESE VEHICLES. USE INFINITI NET TO CONFIRM IF A SPECIFIC VEHICLE IS AFFECTED BY THIS SERVICE CAMPAIGN (P3104). *TR
THE AUDIO AND TEMPERATURE CONTROLS DO NOT OPERATE AS EXPECTED. WHEN USING THE AUDIO EQUIPMENT OR THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS, THE UNIT BECOMES INOPERATIVE.THERE IS ALREADY A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN FOR THIS, HOWEVER INFINITI TOLD ME THAT OUR CAR'S VIN NUMBER DOES NOT QUALIFY EVEN THOUGH IT'S THE EXACT SAME SITUATION AND IDENTICAL YEAR/MAKE/MODEL OF CAR. *TR
THE SYSTEM CONTROLLING THE AC AND THE RADIO COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING AND THERE IS NO LONGER ANY WAY TO CONTROL IT. ALL THE POWER WINDOWS QUIT WORKING AS WELL. WITH SO MANY REPORTS WOULD BE NICE IF INFINITI TOOK SOME RESPONSIBILITY AND ADDRESSED THE ISSUES. *JS
THE RADIO AND A/C CONTROLS BECAME INOPERATIVE ON A 2003 INFINITI G35 COUPE. SAFETY ISSUE IS THE INABILITY TO USE DEFROSTER OR REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER AS NECESSARY. A SEARCH OF THE WEB INDICATES THAT HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. INFINITI RECALLED SOME 2003 SEDANS FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM, BUT NO COUPES. THE COUPE USES THE EXACT SAME SYSTEM AS THE SEDAN IN TERMS OF RADIO AND A/C CONTROLS.. THIS RECALL IDENTIFIES A CIRCUIT BOARD AS THE CULPRIT, AND THE BOARD WAS REPLACED FREE FOR SOME 2003 SEDAN OWNERS. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH POTENTIALLY DEADLY CONSEQUENCES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NONE OF THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC THAT LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 99,260.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, HE APPROACHED A STOP SIGN AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE POWER STEERING AND THE BRAKES TO FAIL. THE CONTACT LET THE VEHICLE SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE ENGINE SENSOR AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000. UPDATED 7/12/12 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE A/C AND RADIO HAVEN'T WORKED IN YEARS, DUE TO A BURNED OUT CIRCUIT BOARD. UPDATED 07/18/12
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, HE WAS UNABLE TO ACCESS THE CENTRAL INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
HELLO, I OWN A 2003 INFINITI G35 AND HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MY CAR OVERHEATING AFTER DRIVING IT FOR SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. ALSO HAVE NOTICED A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. I'VE HAD MULTIPLE MECHANICS LOOK AT THE CAR AND REPLACE ITEMS SUCH AS THE WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT HOUSING, AND ENGINE FANS AND CONTINUE TO STILL HAVE THE ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE ON AND OFF BETWEEN MECHANIC VISITS FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW. THIS IS A SERIOUS HAZARD, CONSIDERING THAT THESE INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPEN WITH ME ALSO DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND HAVING TO PULL OVER AND GET MY CAR TOWED TO MY PLACE OF RESIDENCE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON WITH THIS ISSUE AND A NUMBER OF DRIVERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. JUST DO A GOOGLE WEB SEARCH FOR "2003 INFINITI G35 OVERHEATING" AND YOU WILL HAVE A NUMBER OF RESULTS COME UP ON THIS ISSUE AND ALSO A NUMBER OF OTHER DRIVERS POSTING ON THE SAME ISSUE WITH NO RESOLUTION. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS IS PART OF RECALL THAT MY CAR HASN'T BEEN IDENTIFIED AS PART OF. IF NOT, I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT A RECALL FOR THIS MODEL NEEDS TO HAPPEN FOR THIS ISSUE SINCE THIS IS A SERIOUS HAZARD TO DRIVE THE CAR IN THIS STATE. THE AUDIO AND TEMPERATURE CONTROLS BECOME INOPERABLE BECAUSE OF A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD. MY TEMPERATURE WAS STUCK AT 90 DEGREES AT MAXIMUM OUTPUT, WITH NO POSSIBLE WAY TO SHUT IT OFF. THERE WAS A VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR 2003 G35 SEDANS WITH THIS ISSUE (INFINITI RECALL # P31040), BUT NOT FOR COUPES. FROM ONLINE RESEARCH, THERE APPEARS TO BE NUMEROUS CASES WHERE THE SAME ISSUE HAS OCCURRED ON 2003 G35 COUPES, BUT INFINITI REFUSES TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPAIRS, BECAUSE THE VIN #'S WERE NOT PART OF THE ORIGINAL RECALL. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT THAT CONSTITUTES A RECALL FOR ANY G35 MODEL WITH THIS KNOWN ISSUE. *TR
INFINITI G35 AC AND AUDIO PANEL NOT WORKING, AS THOUSANDS OF OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING. CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR IN INCLIMATE WEATHER DUE TO THE INABILITY TO CONTROL THE TEMPERATURE OR ENGAGE THE DEFROST SO I CAN SEE OUT THE WINDOWS. VERY DANGEROUS - THREAT TO MY SAFETY AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME. IT'S THE AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD THAT HAS FAILED. THE DEALER JUST WANTS TO INSTALL A NEW RADIO. EITHER OF THESE REPAIRS WILL BE AT MY OWN EXPENSE. UNABLE TO GET INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO ASSIST IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. VIN NOT COVERED UNDER THE VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN - FALLS JUST OUT OF RANGE. EVERY ONE OF THESE CARS HAVE THE SAME FAULTY COMPONENTS. UNCLEAR WHY ONLY A SELECT FEW VINS WERE RECALLED. THOUSANDS OF US HAVE COMPLAINED. WHY IS NOTHING DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE? *TT
THE RADIO WILL TURN OFF BY ITSELF AND TURN BACK ON A FEW SECONDS LATER. ALL OF THE BUTTONS IN THE CENTER CONSOLE BECOME INOPERABLE. THE A/C CONTROLS ALSO BECOME INOPERABLE AND TURNS ON BY ITSELF. IT JUST DOESN'T TURN ON THOUGH, IT TURNS ON 90 DEGREES AND STARTS BLASTING OUT. THIS IS A SAFELY ISSUE BECAUSE AS A DRIVER WE NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS AIR IS JUST GOING TO START BLASTING OUT AT US LIKE FIRE. IF INFINITI IS SMART ENOUGH TO RECALL THE SEDAN, THEY SHOULD DO THE SAME THING WITH THE COUPES. IT IS CLEARLY A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG THE '03-'04 MODELS. IF THEY WANT TO KEEP THEIR REPUTABLE NAME THEY WILL DO WHAT IS RIGHT. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE CAM SHAFT SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 03V455000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 155,000.
THE 3RD LOCATION BRAKE LIGHT IN THE REAR DECK AREA QUIT WORKING, AND THERE IS NO EASY WAY TO GET TO IT AND REPAIR IT. IT IS A LED UNIT, AND IT APPEARS THAT IT WAS DESIGNED AND INSTALLED TO NEVER FAIL, BECAUSE IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET TO. *JS

ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AT APPROXIMATELY 10;30PM ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY I WAS THE SECOND PERSON TO HIT A HORSE,. 17 HAND HORSE LYING IN THE ROAD, A PERSON HEADED NORTH HIT AND TOSSED THE DEAD HORSE IN MY SOUTH LANE. , . MY CAR HIT THE HORSE, FLIPPED SEVERAL TIMES THEN ROLLED DOWN AND EMBANKMENT UNTIL THE CAR CAME TO A STOP.........IT DUG INTO THE DIRT AND GRASS UNTIL IT CAME TO A HALT,. WHEN THE CAR STOPPED I WAS PASSENGER SIDE DOWN, NEITHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED?. I HAVE SUFFERED THE PAST TWO YEARS, MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY AND FINANCIALLY. THE AC/HEAT CONTROLLER STOPPED WORKING. THE AC WAS STUCK AT FULL, AT 60 DEGREES WHICH CREATED MIST ON ALL OF THE WINDOWS. I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN ON THE DEFROSTER WHICH MADE MY DRIVING DANGEROUS. *TR
I OWN A 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND THE CAR IS CONSUMING A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL. I AM POURING TWO QUARTS OF OIL IN IT EVERY 3 - 4 DAYS. AT THIS POINT, THE OIL IS LEAKING INTO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER PRODUCING WHITE FUMES OUT THE TAILPIPE. I REACHED OUT TO INFINITI?S CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT WITH THE ISSUE AND THEY ADVISED ME TO TAKE THE CAR IN TO AN AUTHORIZED INFINITI SERVICE CENTER FOR EVALUATION. I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO AN INFINITI SERVICE CENTER AND TOLD THE SERVICE REP MY CAR COMPLAINT. HIS IMMEDIATE RESPONSE WAS THAT THE MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS DO CONSUME A LOT OF OIL. AFTER THE CAR'S EVALUATION, THE SERVICE REP TOLD ME THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE BLOCK WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF DAMAGED OR WORN PISTON RINGS. I ASKED THE SERVICE REP WHAT COULD CAUSE A SOPHISTICATED, EXPENSIVE MACHINE TO REQUIRE A MOTOR REPLACEMENT AFTER ONLY 126K MILES. THE SERVICE REP REPLIED THAT IT COULD BE DUE TO INFREQUENT OIL CHANGES AND/OR DRIVING THE CAR FOR LONG PERIODS WITHOUT OIL BOTH OF WHICH DO NOT APPLY TO ME. I THEN REACHED OUT TO THE INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT FOR SOME RESOLUTION TO WHAT I WOULD CONSIDER A TRAVESTY AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO TO ASSIST ME IN THIS MATTER CITING TWO REASONS - (1) NOT BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER OF INFINITI BECAUSE MY LAST SERVICE VISIT WAS IN 2009 AND (2) THE VEHICLE IS WAY OUTSIDE THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. I THEN DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE TO SEE IF I WAS THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS CAR THAT WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. I FOUND NUMEROUS POSTINGS, MOST OF WHICH CLAIM THAT NISSAN IS FULLY AWARE OF THE ISSUE, BUT THEY ARE TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SLIPPING INTO DIFFERENT GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO SLOW TO RESPOND WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE OR WHEN DECELERATING. IN ADDITION, THE HEAT WOULD ACTIVATE INDEPENDENTLY AND THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TROUBLE TURNING THE HEATER OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE CONTACT HAD ZERO VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY DIAGNOSED THAT THE AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

REPLACEMENT OF AUDIO BOARD IS 1ST STEP, IF PROBLEM CONTINUES AUDIO UNIT MUST BE REPLACED." THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON IN MY 2003 INFINITY G35 SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. I HAVE RECENTLY TAKEN THE CAR TO A REPUTABLE REPAIR SHOP, AND WAS NOT PLEASED TO FIND THAT IN THIS CONDITION THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE SINCE FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR AIRBAG MALFUNCTIONS IN THE 2005-2008 INFINITY G35'S. THE 2003 INFINITY G35'S WERE NOT INCLUDED, BUT YET THERE ARE OTHER 2003 G35 OWNERS THAT HAVE HAD WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS. UNFORTUNATELY, SOME OF THEM WERE INJURED WHEN THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *JB
I'VE RECENTLY BEEN HAVING ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE WHERE THE CAR STALLS. THE CAR START FINE WHEN I DO A COLD START BUT WHEN THE CAR WARMS UP THE CAR STALLS AT TIMES. I'VE BEEN HEARING A LOT OF THE STORIES FROM OTHER PEOPLE ON DIFFERENT FORUMS WHERE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR THIS MODEL. THE CULPRIT ARE EITHER THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH I HAD ALREADY REPLACE THREE YEARS BACK, THE 2 CAM POSITION SENSORS AND CRANK POSITION SENSOR. I RECENTLY FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE CAM POSITION SENSORS AND CRANK POSITION SENSOR. I'M HOPING THAT MY VIN# IS PART OF THAT RECALL. THE SECOND ISSUE I HAVE BEEN HAVING WITH THIS CAR IS THE RADIO AND TEMPERATURE CONTROL. THAT I RECENTLY HAD CHANGED WITH THE FACTORY RADIO ATTACHED TO THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL. THE RADIO WOULD STOP WORKING. I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL AND THE AC UNIT WOULD TURN ON BY IT SELF. I RECENTLY JUST INSTALLED AN AFTER MARKET RADIO. WITH EVERYTHING AFTER BUYING WHAT WAS REQUIRED TO DO A DOUBLE DIN CONVERSION AND INSTALLATION. IT COST ME A GOOD AMOUNT OF MONEY. ANOTHER ISSUE THIS CAR HAS IS THE SEAT BELT ISSUE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.

FIRST, THE CD PLAYER STOPPED WORKING. THEN THE CONTROL PANELS TO THE RADIO AND THERMOSTAT STOPPED WORKING. THEN THE DEFROSTER FOR THE WINDSHIELD STOPPED WORKING. NOW THE BATTERY IS NOT FUNCTIONAL - THE ENGINE HAS TO BE JUMPED SO THE CAR CAN BE STARTED. *KB
LIKE THOUSANDS OF OTHER G35'S, MY VEHICLE'S RADIO AND AIR CONDITIONING CONTROLS HAVE BECOME UNRESPONSIVE. THE PANEL'S LIGHT GOES OFF AND NONE OF THE BUTTONS WORK. THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT RESETS ITSELF TO 75 DEGREES AND AUTO CLIMATE, WHICH PROMPTLY RAMPS UP AND GOES FULL BLAST, WITH NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF. THIS PROBLEM ALSO DRAINS THE BATTERY WHILE THE CAR IS OFF. BEFORE I WAS AWARE OF THIS BATTERY DRAINING, I WAS AT A GAS STATION AT MIDNIGHT IN THE FREEZING COLD, WHEN THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER START. I WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT THE PROBLEM BY INFINITI, AND THEY DID HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS BUT FOR A VERY SMALL RANGE OF VINS. ACCORDING TO MY DEALER, THIS IS ONE OF THEIR MOST COMMON JOBS AND NON-WARRANTY COVERED REPAIRS WILL COME UP TO $1300. SEARCHING ONLINE REVEALS MANY THREADS WITH HUNDREDS OF POSTS ABOUT THIS VERY SAME ISSUE. APPARENTLY GETTING THE REPAIR MAY NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND IT MAY RESURFACE 3-4 MONTHS LATER. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED, AS IT COULD POTENTIALLY BE VERY DANGEROUS. I'M LUCKY I DON'T LIVE IN AN AREA WHERE THERE IS SNOW OR FREEZING TEMPERATURES. YOU CAN GET STUCK OUT THERE WITH NO BATTERY. *KB

INFINITI HAS COMPLETELY LEFT BEHIND OWNERS OF THE 2003 G35. THEY HAD A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN TO FIX THE 'AUDIO FINISHER' BUT ALL THEY DID WAS PUT A BAND-AID ON THE PROBLEM. THEY ONLY FIX THE PROBLEM ONCE, THEN THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO HAPPEN ABOUT ONCE A YEAR. THEY OBVIOUSLY DID NOT SET UP THE RADIO/AC CONTROLS PROPERLY WHEN THEY ORIGINALLY MADE THE CAR, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHY YOU WON'T SEE THIS PROBLEM WITH THE 2004 MODEL. NOW ALL THEY SAY IS THAT IT'S MY PROBLEM TO GET IT FIXED. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE FOR SOME PEOPLE, BECAUSE WE CANNOT USE THE DEFROST. INFINITI TRIES TO CHARGE ABOUT $1000 EACH TIME THIS PROBLEM RECURS. IT IS RIDICULOUS AND SAD TO THINK THAT THEY EXPECT US TO PAY THIS FEE ABOUT ONCE EACH YEAR WHILE WE OWN THIS CAR. THE RADIO, AC AND CD PROBLEMS ARE LINKED TOGETHER, AS IT APPEARS TO BE DUE TO A WIDESPREAD FAILURE OF AN AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD COMPONENT. THE MANUFACTURE HAS ISSUED A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN FOR A VERY LIMITED NUMBER OF VEHICLES MANUFACTURED THROUGH AUGUST 21, 2002. IT DOES NOT COVER NUMEROUS VEHICLES THAT PRESENT WITH THE EXACT SAME FAULT MANUFACTURED AFTER THAN DATE. *TR
ENGINE BECAME INOPERABLE WHILE DRIVING CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SLIP LIGHT, VDC LIGHT) AT THE TIME. CAR WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED WITH SOME TROUBLE. PROBLEM REPEATED ITSELF (STALLING, LOSS OF POWER, STARTING DIFFICULTY) OVER NEXT COUPLE DAYS, ALTHOUGH WARNING LIGHTS NEVER WENT OFF. INDEPENDENT MECHANIC IDENTIFIED PROBLEM AS CAM POSITION SENSOR FAILURES & ADVISED THERE WAS A NHTSA SAFETY RECALL (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 03V455000) FOR THE PROBLEM WITH 2003 G35S, BUT THAT MY VIN WAS OUTSIDE THE CAMPAIGN RECALL VINS. HE SUGGESTED I CONTACTED INFINITI. I CONTACTED BOTH DEALER AND INFINITI NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO ACKNOWLEDGED THERE WAS A CAM POSITION SENSOR PROBLEM WITH 2003 G35S, BUT BECAUSE MY VIN WAS NOT IN THE CAMPAIGN THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAD MY MECHANIC REPLACE THE CAM POSITION SENSORS AT MY EXPENSE (ABOUT $700). THERE ARE A NUMBER OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FILED WITH THE NHTSA ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH NO APPARENT RESOLUTION WITH INFINITI. THE RECALL CAMPAIGN 03V455000 NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED TO COVER ALL PROBLEM VEHICLES. *TR
