This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

Safety Features
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Remedy Status
Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected VINs should be activated. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200.
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Nissan Murano, 2016-2018 Nissan Maxima, and 2017-2019 Nissan Pathfinder and Infiniti QX60 vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and unrepaired, or inspected and determined to not need a repair, under recall number 18V-601. In addition, this recall expands the previous population. The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) actuator pumps may allow brake fluid to leak onto an internal circuit board.
Remedy Status
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS actuator, free of charge. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available, currently expected to be during summer 2020. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Note: If the ABS warning light remains illuminated for more than 10 seconds after engine start up, owners are advised to park the vehicle outdoors away from other vehicles or structures and to not drive the vehicle.
COMPONENT/SYSTEM FAILURE: Timing chain and timing chain tensioner/guide assembly failure. The timing chain has stretched prematurely, causing the vehicle to fail to start, loss of acceleration response, check engine light illumination, and audible rattling noise from the engine compartment. The failed components are available for inspection upon request at the dealership. SAFETY RISK: The vehicle would not accelerate when the gas pedal was pressed, creating a dangerous situation where the vehicle could not respond to driver input. This poses a serious safety risk in traffic, highway merging, or emergency evasive situations. Additionally, the failure to start leaves occupants stranded without warning. DEALER CONFIRMATION: The problem has been diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Infiniti dealer. The dealer determined the cause is timing chain stretching and has quoted $6,500 for repair, which includes timing chain, tensioners, and guides replacement. PRIOR WARNINGS: Approximately one week prior to complete failure, the vehicle began exhibiting a rattling noise from the engine. The check engine light illuminated. Shortly after, the vehicle would not start and would not accelerate when the gas pedal was pressed. KNOWN DEFECT: This is a documented defect. Infiniti Technical Service Bulletin ITB19-027a addresses timing chain-related diagnostic trouble codes on 2017-2024 QX60 vehicles with the VQ35DD engine. The timing chain tensioner and guide failure on VQ-series engines is a well-documented premature wear issue affecting vehicles well before expected service life. At 80,000 miles, this failure is premature and indicative of a design or manufacturing defect, not normal wear. REQUEST: I am requesting NHTSA investigate this safety defect and consider requiring a recall for affected Infiniti QX60 vehicles. Nissan/Infiniti corporate has declined goodwill assistance despite the existence of TSBs acknowledging the issue.
Vehicle shudders on acceleration. 2013-2018 vehicles were recalled. 2019 is doing the same thing.
My 2019 Infiniti QX60 (VIN [XXX] ) experienced a sudden transmission failure at 99,995 miles. The vehicle would no longer shift into gear and became undriveable. The dealer found diagnostic code P2813 – Pressure Control Solenoid G, indicating internal transmission failure. The repair estimate is 8,369.87. This appears to be part of a known pattern of CVT failures affecting Infiniti/Nissan vehicles, including the QX60. Earlier models (2015–2018) had warranty extensions for similar CVT defects. This failure occurred without warning and poses a major safety hazard, as the vehicle could not accelerate or be driven. My wife was pulling out of the parking area after picking up my [XXX] and as soon as she pulled out and shifted it to drive it would not. Ended up with a vehicle almost hitting them, which was a close call. After shifting it back-and-forth it finally went into gear and took it straight to the service center. The service center even said that they had to tow it into the garage because it would not go into gear any longer. I am requesting NHTSA investigate whether this transmission defect affects 2019 and later QX60 models and whether a recall or manufacturer remedy is warranted. Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2019 Infinity QX60. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, on February 25, 2022, the mileage was 59,607. It was later discovered that the mileage on the Title was 116,134. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The contact retrieved a Carfax history check, and it showed that on Oct. 4, 2021, the mileage was 52,177. Then, 48 hours later, on Oct. 6, 2021, on the recorded certified checklist, the mileage was 53,854. The information on the Carfax report was before the contact purchased the vehicle. The contact stated that on Oct. 6, 2021, the mileage information was blank on the Carfax report. The dealer was contacted; however, no assistance was provided.
Differential failed and leaking fluid - premature failure. Yes, part will be available, and repair diagnosed by Kendall Inifiniti of Nampa dealership. In process of review by manufacturer district area manager. No warning, no messages, no smells, nada - took auto in for scheduled 60,000 mile service at dealer and provided $4,100 estimate for repair - see attached. Vehicle previously serviced in Feb 2025 at same dealership and drivetrain was reported good without any mention of leak or seal failure. Service rep believes this failed months ago.
My car started making a whining noise and leaking oil simultaneously. After taking it to be looked at, there is a broken seal due in improper assembly on the right side drive shaft. If it remains broken, not fixed, I risk a transmission failure. Multiple "Technical Serve Bulletins" have been released by Infiniti since 2017 (my car is a 2019 and was purchased certified pre-owned), but they will not issue a recall because this isn't considered a safety issue. Losing transmission function on the highway would create a huge safety concern.
My engine has sludge all over it as well as engine bearing shavings despite only having 122k miles and regular oil changes and maintenance.
The Rear right differential side seal failed under 40K miles and car was out of manufacturer warranty and I had to pay to get the seal and bearing replaced. I cannot believe a seal and bearing need to be rep[laced withing 40K miles. I had to replace a seal on the Transfer case last year when the car was still under manufacturer's warranty. My guess is that poor quality of the seals/bearings or improper installation procedures could have led to these early failures and surely warrants an investigation.
The contact owns a 2019 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The vehicle was drifted to the shoulder of the road where the engine seized. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was started; however, the vehicle failed to start as intended. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with alternator failure. The contact was informed that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated while driving approximately 20-25 MPH, the steering wheel locked on six occasions while driving straight or while turning. There was a green EPS warning light that turned on and off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a claim. The manufacturer scheduled an appointment for an inspection of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 38,400.
Took the vehicle in to the dealership for an oil change and state inspection. They informed us of the front lower control arms bushings are cracked, torn and need to be replaced. The vehicle is 5 years old with 41,000 miles. I asked the dealership why they would be this way and the service writer stated that it is just the quality of the bushings. Why are the bushings that worn on a vehicle that drives 8,000 miles per year, garage kept and all highway miles?
Transfer Case leaking. Resealing of Transfer Case was performed under warranty. The vehicle was under warranty and had only 33,000 Miles. It was rather alarming that such transmission/power train issues showed up at such low mileage.
The contact owns a 2019 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while reversing, the back-up camera malfunctioned and a black screen appeared, causing a visibility hazard for the driver. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V654000 (Back Over Prevention). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 20,000.
1. I have had my oil changed 3 times this year and there continue to have sludge in the oil and strange noise from engine and I am very uncomfortable and afraid to drive my car. It rides funny and sometime slows on its own. 2. My airbag light has remained on and I was told they need to be replaced Please consider CheckIn for damage engine for recall repair for 2019 QX 60 Thanks
Transmission failure. The CVT transmission did not engage in gear while driving (on the highway!) I was able to drive in "limp mode" to reputable mechanic in the area. The mechanic flushed the CVT fluid, changed the filters and checked all the electronic codes, but the problem persists. The vehicle will require a new transmission or a rebuild.
My vehicle shut down while driving, my safety, the safety of others was very much at risk as the vehicle shut down with no warnings while driving at a very busy time and roads, cars where honking at me, I have not taken the vehicle to the dealer ship as they were just going to run a diagnosis and charge almost $300 dollars for that however I took my vehicle to Auto Zone they checked it briefly for me and found no error codes but this shut down has now happened twice while driving is very scary. The warning lamp that pop while vehicle shut down was FEB warning light along with the battery light.
While driving at approximately 60 mph I heard a loud popping noise. Once I stopped I noticed my sunroof was completely shattered. I was not in traffic and had not gone under any underpasses. This happened all by itself. The car had been inside the garage and my ride was approximately 15-20 minutes.
When a person leans on the door and at least 200lbs of pressure is applied to the driver's door, in drive, the door will open and all the locks in the car will release.
Car just stalls or cuts out and loses power. Dealership says it’s not pulling any codes.
FEB (sensors) display on our Infiniti QX 60 dashboard - this occurred within several months when we received the car. The car was inspected by their Infiniti Repair dealer and was told the problem was solved. It was not and the same issue appeared after several miles of driving. Reported to Consumer Affairs at Infiniti and was informed its an Infiniti Dealer issue. Further electronic defects occurred as I was not able to change gear from Park to Drive. Infiniti towed the car to their Dealer and purportedly they corrected. The same issue continued and placed several more calls to Infiniti Consumer affairs. Was told "we are sorry but we cant help you". Eventually brought this issue up to the highest level at Infiniti to [XXX] - head of Nissan North America. No action yet again - and was called by an assistant and thanked me for bringing it to his attention. informed Infiniti via email to [XXX] that it can be catastrophic at Front sensors are defective and do not function. I have video's and written correspondence to Infiniti. I am available for a Zoom call or can be contacted at [XXX]. Respectfully yours, [XXX] Brooklyn, NY INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
