I HAVEN'T GET MY RECALL PAPERWORK TO TAKE MY SUV TO THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE . NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V447. I KNOW MY CHEROKEE IS A JEEP CHEROKEE 4 CYLINDER 4X4 BUT IS HAPPENING TO ME AS WELL AND I HAVE 2 KIDS . IS SCARY WHEN UNEXPECTEDLY SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL, RESULTING IN A LOSS OF POWER AND RAISING THE RISK OF AN ACCIDENT. ALSO THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. PLEASE HELP ME TO GET MY SUV FIXED . THIS SITUATION IS VERY FRUSTRATING SINCE I TOOK IT TO HOLT CHRYSLER DEALER AT ARLINGTON TEXAS WHEN THAT SITUATION WITH THE TRANSMISSION HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME AND THEY SAID THAT MY SUV WAS NOT ON THE RECALL . NOW THE DEALER DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE NOW IS CLASSIC DEALER . SO AT THIS POINT I JUST NEED THE PAPERWORK IN ORDER TO GET MY SUV TRANSMISSION FIXED WITH THE NEW SOFTWARE . THANKS FOR EVERYTHING. THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW IN 2014. LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS INCIDENT THE JEEP LOST ALL POWER AND WOULD NOT GO INTO EITHER DRIVE OR PARK CREATING AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE SITUATION. WAS TOLD IT HAD TO DO WITH A RECALL AND NEEDED A NEW PCU. THAT WAS TWO MONTHS AGO! I AM STILL WITHOUT MY JEEP AND HAVE NOW BEEN TOLD IT NEEDS ANOTHER NEW TRANSMISSION.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS NUMBERING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS MY 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE 9-SPEED TRANSMISSION HAS EXHIBITED THE HARD SHIFTING SLUGGISH SHIFTING AND JERKING SINCE I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE . BEGINNING IN AUGUST OF 2020 I NOTICED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THAT WHEN I WENT TO PULL OUT FROM A COMPLETE STOP MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO AND WOULD DROP INTO NEUTRAL SUDDENLY AND I WOULD HAVE TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO PARK AND BACK TO DRIVE TO GET IT TO MOVE AND HAS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST BE IN A VEHICULAR ACCIDENT ON TWO MULTIPLE OCCASIONS ON THE SAME DAY AND I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY IN THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND SEEN THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS RECALLS FOR THIS MODEL AND MAKE BUT MINE JEEP IS NOT INCLUDED BUT IT EXHIBITS THE SAME PROBLEMS AND IT HAS THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL THAT NUMEROUS RECALLS WERE ISSUED FOR.
THE VEHICLE KEEPS GETTING STUCK IN A GEAR THEN DROPPING INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING. ITS VERY DANGEROUS
FOLLOWING TRANSMISSION RELATED RECALLS R01, S55, U63, V69, AND THE LATEST ONE IN AUGUST 2020 W47- THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL WITH OUT WARNING IN MOTION. THE DEALERSHIP ATTEMPTED TO REPROGRAM AND REPLACE THE TCM AT NO RESOLVE. JEEP HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND RESPONDED WITH A "NO GOODWILL" APPROACH, AS IN NOT ASSISTING IN ANY WAY.
MY JEEP EXPERTLY THREE TIMES NOW WHILE DRIVING 30 TO 40 MPH AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL. I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASH THAT TELL ME BASICALLY TO STOP AND RESTART VEHICLE. I'M ALSO EXPERIENCING ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY SHIFTER ARE ON/RED AT THE SAME TIME. THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE THE SHIFTER LIGHTS APPEAR NORMAL IS TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART.
THE SAFETY RECALL TO REPROGRAM THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS COMPLETED ON 9/4/19. MY VEHICLE WORKED PROPERLY UNTIL AUGUST 2020 AND HAS RETURNED TO LTHE SAME ISSUE I HAD BEFORW THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED. THE JEEP LOSES POWER WHEN BRAKING TO BELOW 20 MPH BUT NOT COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP & PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. THERE IS A SECOND OR 2 DELAY BEFORE THE CAR WILL ACCELERATE, THEN A HARD SHIFT AS IF THE CAR HAS GONE INTO GEAR.
AFTER HITTING 50K MILES ON MY VEHICLE I NOTICED FOLLOWING FUELING IT WILL BEGIN TO SHUDDER AND RPM'S WILL GO OUT OF WACK. THEN RPM DROPS AND CAR WILL GIVE NOTICE "SHIFT TO P THEN DESIRED GEAR" MESSAGE. OTHER LIGHTS WILL LITE UP AND BATTERY LITE STAYS LIT WHEN THIS MESSAGE IS GIVEN. (I HAVE A NEW BATTERY SO IT CAN NOT BE DUE TO A BAD ONE.) THE CAR WILL THEN STALL AND STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED BOTH WHEN STOPPED AT INTERSECTIONS AND WHILE IN MOTION AND DRIVING ESPECIALLY AT LOWER SPEEDS. IS A HAZARD AS HAPPENS QUICKLY AND NO WARNING SO CAN NOT PULL OVER. HAVE TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTART. THIS WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN UNTIL TANK IS DOWN TO ABOUT 3/4 FULL. I DO NOT OVER FILL THE TANK. HAD TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DETECT ANY PROBLEMS. NO MESSAGES WERE GIVEN TO THEM DURING THE CHECK. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND A HAZARD ON THE ROAD WHEN YOU HAVE CARS BEHIND YOU THAT HAVE TO STOP SUDDENLY. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS FOR FEAR IT WILL STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND I WILL BE INJURED IN A REAR END COLLISION IF CAR BEHIND ME IS NOT PAYING ATTENTION. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MANY MONTHS NOW. EVERY TIME I FILL MY VEHICLE UP WITH GAS AND I DO NOT OVERFILL. I STOP AT THE FIRST "CLICK" WHEN PUMPING. IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON YOUR WEBSITE WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD MAKE FOR AN EASY RECALL TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT BECOMES MORE SERIOUS THAN IT IS RIGHT NOW WITH SOMEONE REALLY GETTING INJURED OR WORSE! I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE FEARFUL OF MY OWN VEHICLE.
UNDER RECALL W47 A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS DONE AT DEALER ASKED SERVICE ADVISER IF THIS WAS JUST A TEMPORARY FIX UNTIL PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE UPDATE TO COMPUTER WAS ALL THAT WAS BEING DONE EVEN THOU UNDER NHTSA RECALL REPORT 20V-343 IT STATES THAT DIFFERENTIAL INPUT SPLINES AND TRANSMISSION OUTPUT SHAFT MAY RESULT IN THE TEETH OF THE INPUT SPLINES WEARING OFF I FEEL THESE PARTS SHOULD BE REPLACED UNDER RECALL W47 NOT JUST A REPROGRAMMING OF DTCM DRIVE TRAIN CONTROL MODULE AND EPB ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE SOFTWARE ESPECIALLY SINCE ACCORDING TO REPORT A MORE ROBUST DIFFERENTIAL INPUT SPLINES ARE BEING USED IN LATER MODELS PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS RECALL AND REPLACE PARTS THAT ARE NEEDED TO MAKE VEHICLE SAFE TO OPERATE AGAIN
THE SVC LIGHT CAME ON. THE TRACTION CONTROL/ALL WHEEL DRIVE/4WD STOPPED WORKING. I HAD TO PAY $2400 TO REPLACE TRANSFER CASE. COME TO FIND OUT THIS IS VERY COMMON.
WHILE DRIVING MY JEEP REVS INTO HIGH GEAR, THEN ALL OF THE SYMBOLS ON MY DASH LIGHT UP AND THEN MY JEEP JOLTS AND THEN SHUTS OFF. I HAVE TO PUT IT INTO PARK AND WAIT ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND THEN TRY TO TURN IT BACK ON, SOMETIMES IT TAKES 2-3 TIMES TO TURN BACK ON.
ITS DOING JUST WHAT THE RECALL STATED ..THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND THEN IT CUTS OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING AND TELLING ME TO SHIFT TO PARK TO RESTART AND CONTINUES TO DO THIS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I GET TO A SAFE DESTINATION
I HAVE A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK AND THE SERVICE SHIFTIER CODE IS ON. I PURCHASED IT FROM A DEALERSHIP ON 7-27-2020
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V343000 (POWER TRAIN) COMPLETED AT LARRY H. MILLER CASA CHRYSLER JEEP LOCATED AT 9733 COORS BLVD NW, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87114, (505) 633-2050. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HIS WIFE WAS APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE SERVICE UNAVAILABLE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO 4-WHEEL DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO HER RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER 3 DAYS LATER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE POWER TRANSFER UNIT TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,664.
EMERGENCY BREAK GOT LOCKED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. CAR WOULDN'T START AND HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO JEEP DEALERSHIP. JEEP SAID IT WAS THE EMERGENCY BREAK MODULE AND WIRING. IT APPEARED TO BE SO SORT OF LEAKAGE IN THE COMPARTMENT BUT NO WATER WAS FOUND NEAR MODULE.
IT SAID SERVICE SHIFTER ON THE SCREEN. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF FORUMS COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE FROM OUR YEAR VEHICLE ALL THE WAY UP TO CURRENT.
TRANSMISSION JUMP OUT OF DRIVE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO WORK
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WHEN OVER TEMPERATURE LIGHT CAME ON. COOLANT LEAK CAUSE BY RUBBING ON COOLANT OVERFLOW LINE. POOR DESIGN OF ENGINE COMPONENTS.
SHIFTER BEZEL HAS GONE OUT.
IT KEEPS COMING UP SERVICE SHIFTER ALMOST EVERYDAY. THE SHOP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG THAT THEY CAN SEE. IT STARED 1 MONTH AFTER WE BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2019. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW FAST YOUR ARE GOING. SOMETIMES WHEN U START IT, IT POPS UP. SOMETIMES YOU ARE DRIVNG DOWN THE ROAD AND IT COMES UP. ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE SHIFTER TURN RED AND IT COVERS THE WHOLE DASH AS WELL. YOU HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF LET IT RESET AND THEN START AGAIN AND MOST TIMES IT GOES AWAY EXCEPT YESTERDAY I HAD TO DRIVE HOME WITH IT LIKE THAT. TODAY IT WAS GONE.
CAR WONT START, APPEARS TO BE IN PARK BUT ITS NOT. IT ROLLS AND WONT ENGAGE THE PARKING BREAK. ALL LIGHTS AND ELECTRICAL COMES ON BUT WONT START. ROLLS WHEN PUSHING ON THE BREAKS. WONT STOP.
OUR JEEP CHEROKEE HAS HAD ON AND OFF TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS FOR OVER 3 YEARS. 3 YEARS AGO THE VALVE BODY FAILED WHILE WE WERE DRIVING LEAVING US IN A VULNERABLE SPOT WHILE TURNING INTO TRAFFIC. THE CAR STARTED BUCKING, LOSING POWER, THEN GAINING IT BACK AND FLASHING LOTS OF DASH WARNINGS. WE LIMPED THE VEHICLE HOME AND THEN TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY INFORMED US WE HAD A FAULTY VALVE BODY AND REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY. 3 WEEKS AGO THE SAME PROBLEMS STARTED HAPPENING WHEN I WAS BACKING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY. I ROLLED BACKWARD INTO THE STREET AND WAS STRANDED. I COULD NOT GO FORWARDS OR BACKWARDS. AFTER 2 WEEKS OF WAITING TO GET AN APPOINTMENT, WE LIMPED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT WAS REVVING HIGH AND STRUGGLING TO GO THE WHOLE WAY THERE. AT FIRST THEY DIAGNOSED IT AT LOW FLUID (WHICH DOESN'T MAKE SENSE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO LEAK. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE STRANGENESS OF THE SITUATION. AFTER BEING TOLD IT WAS RUNNING FINE AND WE COULD PROBABLY PICK IT UP THE NEXT DAY, WE WERE SUDDENLY INFORMED THAT IT NEEDS A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION. IT SEEMS THESE PROBLEMS ARE VERY COMMON FOR THIS TRANSMISSION. IN THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCE, THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS TO SOMEONE. WE WERE LUCKY IN OUR SITUATIONS, BUT I'D HATE TO THINK WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF SOMEONE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. CHRYSLER SEEMS TO BE VERY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND IS ONLY OFFERING TO COVER SOME OF THE REPLACEMENT. IT SEEMS THAT THIS VEHICLE, LIKE ITS V6 COUNTERPART, SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR THIS VERY ISSUE. CHRYSLER'S REFUSAL TO FIX THE PROBLEM HAS LEFT PEOPLE BROKEN DOWN AND STRANDED WHILE ALSO SADDLING THEM WITH THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIRS FOR A FLAWED DESIGN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. I DROVE MY 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE EARLIER TODAY WITH NO PROBLEMS AND I END UP NEEDING TO LEAVE LATER IN THE EVENING AND THE 'SERVICE SHIFTER' LIGHT CAME ON IN MY CAR AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE SHIFTER LIGHT UP RED. I'VE HAD WEIRD THINGS GO ON LIKE IT WOULD HARD SHIFT BUT IT WAS DOING THAT SINCE I GOT IT BUT DIDN'T THINK TOO MUCH BECAUSE OF THE CVT TRANS IN IT. BUT WHEN I TRY TO DRIVE MY JEEP SINCE THE LIGHT CAME ON NOTHING ELSE SHOWS I CAN'T PUT ANYTHING ON MY DASH IT WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVE WAY WHEN I TURNED THE VEHICLE ON AND LIGHT SHOWED.
ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY SHIFTER LIT UP, AND ON MY DASH "SERVICE SHIFTER" APPEARED. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, AND I HAVE PAID TO HAVE IT SERVICED ONCE. IT IS STILL HAPPENING. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AT A SPECIFIC TIME, BUT HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
I'M EXPERIENCING A LOSS OF ENGAGEMENT IN THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION AND THE SYSTEM THAT SENDS POWER TO THE FRONT WHEELS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOWER POWER TO THE VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION. IT ALSO CAUSES THE BRAKE TO FAIL TO ENGAGE. FCA W47 AND FCA W48
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would lose power. The contact also stated that the vehicle would not accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stated the service 4 wheel drive warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the control module needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure still occurred. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer a month later where it was diagnosed with the power transfer unit needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 20V343000 (Power Train). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK FROM GETTING THE RECALL FIXED ON THE TRANSMISSION. THEY DID THE SOFTWARE UP. BUT THE TRANSMISSION IS STILL SHIFTING HARD IN THE LOWER GEARS
VEHICLE SHOWS ERROR MESSAGE ON DASHBOARD SCREEN STATING "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" RECALL CAME OUT IN 1ST QUARTER 2020 STATING THAT IT WAS A COMPUTER ERROR AND WOULD BE FIXED BY DEALERSHIP. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FOR RECALL, AND THEN THE MESSAGE STARTED COMING BACK AFTER A MONTH. TOOK VEHICLE TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP AND FOUND THAT IT WAS A COMPUTER ISSUE AGAIN, NOT A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. IT APPEARS THAT THE ORIGINAL RECALL DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
IF I PARK UPHILL OR GO UP A HILL TRANSMISSION SERVICE LIGHT COMES ON AND CAR FEELS LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL AND DOESNT MOVE FORWARD..IT HAPPENS MOSTLY WHEN I AM AT A STAND-STILL,.LIKE AT A RED LIGHT EVEN IN A FLAT SURFACE
CHECK TRANSMISSION, SERVICE TRANSMISSION, AND SERVICE PARK BREAK KEEPS SHOWING UP ON MY DRIVE SCREEN. IT DOESN'T ALLOW ME TO DRIVE FASTER THAN 15 MPH. WHEN I SHIFT IT INTO GEAR IT SNATCHES LIKE THE ENGINE HAS JUMPED OUT OF THE OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
SHIFTER IS CONTINUALLY LIGHTING UP WITH THE RED INDICATOR LIGHT ON ALL GEARS (P, R,N &D) VERY RECENTLY I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE STATING 'SERVICE SHIFTER' THE INDICATOR LIGHTS HAVE BEEN ONGOING FOR A FEW YEARS AT THIS POINT, BUT ONLY RECENTLY THE ERROR MESSAGE. THIS ERROR MESSAGE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVE 70MPH DOWN THERE FREEWAY. ALSO, THERE HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THE 'FUEL VAPOR SYSTEM' THAT I'VE HAD NEATLY SINCE WE BOUGHT THE JEEP NEW. IT'S BEEN LOOKED AT AND NO ONE WILL TOUCH IT WITHOUT COSTING AN ARM AND A LEG. UNACCEPTABLE FOR A NEW VEHICLE! BOTH ARE ONGOING ISSUES OCCURRING SINCE WINTER OF 2013.
THE OIL FILTER HOUSING IS MADE A OF CHEAP FLIMSY PLASTIC ON MY 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK. OIL IS LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE OIL FILTER HOUSING/COOLER REQUIRES REPLACEMENT. A QUICK SEARCH ON THE INTERNET REVEALS THAT TONS OF JEEP CHEROKEE OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. THE COST OF REPLACEMENT IS ROUGHLY $700-1000. NEWER MODELS HAVE BEEN MODIFIED TO PREVENT THIS ISSUE, BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP 2014 OWNERS. THE ATTACHED PICTURES SHOW POOLING OIL NEXT TO THE PLASTIC OIL FILTER HOUSING. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST OR COVERED UNDER COMPLEMENTARY REPAIR. *TR
TRANSMISSION ISSUES!! NOT SHIFTING GEARS CORRECTLY. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF WEEKLY
MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED A USED 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED 4 CYLINDER FOR OUR DAUGHTER IN 2017. WE NOTICED EARLY ON THAT IT HAD SHIFTING PROBLEMS WITH ITS GEARS. IT WOULD SORT OF JERK AND LUNGE FORWARD WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM A CARMAX IN NORTH CAROLINA. WE ALSO PURCHASED THE MAXCARE EXTENDED WARRANTY, GOOD FOR 60 MONTHS AND 100,000 MILES. THE CAR HAD 38,000 MILES WHEN WE PURCHASED IT. WE HAD IT A FEW WEEKS BEFORE RETURNING IT TO CARMAX COMPLAINING ABOUT THE JERKING. CARMAX SAID THEY TRIED A FEW THINGS, BUT ULTIMATELY SAID IT COULDN'T BE FIXED; THAT IT WAS JUST A "JEEP THING." AND ADVISED US TO TAKE IT TO A JEEP DEALER IF OUR PROBLEMS PERSISTED. THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES DID PERSIST. IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM EVERY DAY. IT JERKS, LUNGES, DOESN'T ACCELERATE PROPERLY OR SHIFT GEARS PROPERLY, AND FEELS UNSAFE. THE JERKING HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS MOSTLY, ALTHOUGH IT JERKS ALMOST ANY OTHER TIME AS WELL. IT WILL EVEN LUNGE FORWARD AFTER COMING TO A STOP LIKE AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS FOR EXAMPLE. A JEEP DEALER IN 2019 PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO THE POWER TRAIN MODULE SAYING JEEP WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS, BUT THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WOULD FIX IT. THE UPDATE HAD NO AFFECT ON THE CAR. NO IMPROVEMENT WAS OBSERVED. THE CAR IS SCHEDULED TO RETURN TO THE SHOP FOR THE SAME ISSUE TOMORROW. MY DAUGHTER FEELS UNSAFE IN THIS CAR.
AFTER COMPLETING THE SAFETY RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION, THE 'SERVICE SHIFTER' LIGHT HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY COMING ON. ON THE SHIFTER ITSELF, ALL LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATED (D, R, P...ETC) WHILE THE 'SERVICE SHIFTER' NOTICE IS VISIBLE. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS NOTICE INDICATED UNTIL I COMPLETED THE TRANSMISSION RECALL. THE 'SERVICE SHIFTER' NOTICE ILLUMINATES WHILE I AM DRIVING.
SUNROOF SEALS MELTS AND COMPLETELY RIPS OFF. I HAVE HAD IT REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. OF COURSE NOW IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND CONTINUES TO DO IT.
OIL PRESSURE SENSOR KEEP GOING OUT.
I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE IN FRONT OF ACE HARDWARE ON MAIN STREET IN EAST ISLIP NEW YORK. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK. AS I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE CAR CONTINUED MOVING FORWARD AND HIT A STACK OF WHEELBARRELS IN FRONT OF THE HARDWARE STORE. IT DAMAGED MY LICENSE PLATE ON THE FRONT END OF THE CAR THE LICENSE PLATE BRACKET AND PUT A SIGNIFICANT CRACK IN THE PAINT ON THE FRONT BUMPER. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT AT OTHER TIMES WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE MOVES FORWARD OR BACKWARD AS MUCH AS 2 INCHES AFTER BEING PUT IN PARK. THIS OCCURRED ON JUNE 23RD 2020
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS FROM A STOP SOMETIMES. THEN OTHER TIMES IT'S A VERY FIRM START AND HARD SHIFTS. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS A LOT. THE CAR KEEPS STALLING AND SHUTTING OFF. CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A SEMI BUSY ROAD WITH ME AND MY KIDS IN THE CAR. *TR
PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD AND ALL FORWARD PROPULSION WAS GONE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT TO A SAFE LOCATION BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT HOLD IN PARK IT WAS LATER FOUND THAT THE SPLINES IN THE PTU HAD STRIPED AND THE TRANSFER CASE WOULD NEED REPLACING. CHRYSLER KNEW THIS COULD HAPPEN AND ISSUED A RECALL THAT INCLUDED TELLING THE COMPUTER TO ENGAGE THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE LOW TO ENGAGE FOR FORWARD MOVEMENT AND TO ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE TO HOLD THE CAR WHEN STOPPED. THIS IS A BAND-AID. THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR WHAT THEY THEMSELVES DISCOVERED WAS A DESIGN FLAW. REF. ODI# 11340866

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TAILSHAFT COMING INTO THE POWER TRANSFER UNIT WHERE THE FRONT AXLE LINKED TO THE TRANSMISSION FRACTURED AND DETACHED CEASING FORWARD MOTION OF THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE PARK PAWL FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HILL VIEW MOTORS LOCATED AT 5309 US-30 E, GREENSBURG, PA 15601, AND REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V447000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000.
I WAS DRIVING. VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED MOVING AND GAVE MESSAGE THAT IT COULD NOT SHIFT UNTIL IT HAD STOPPED. I STILL HAD IT IN DRIVE. IT DID NOT MOVE. FINALLY IT DID, BUT I WAS STUCK IN THE ROAD FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. *TR
A FEW DAYS AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO ENTER A TRAFFIC CIRCLE WHEN THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 148,000.
