MY CAR CONSTANT JERKS AND CUTS OFF BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION. THIS HAPPENS NO MATTER WHEN I AM LOCATED. THIS HAPPENS WHENEVER I DRIVE MY CAR.
WHILE DRIVING AT A SLOW RATE, THE EBRAKE ENGAGED BY ITSELF, BRINGING THE CAR TO A STOP AND RENDERING IT UNDRIVEABLE. THE EBRAKE WOULD NOT RELEASE WHEN PUSHING THE BUTTON DOWN OR WHEN SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTING IT. VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TOWED AWAY. *TR
THE CAR BEGAN LOSING POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT WARNING, WITH THE RESULTING LOSS OF POWER CAUSING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE ISSUE WAS INTERMITTENT, OCCURRING WHILE TURNING, WHILE APPROACHING A STOP, AND WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. THE TRANSMISSION REQUIRED REPLACEMENT AT MY OWN EXPENSE.
VEHICLE LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS! RECEIVED MESSAGE ON DASH: 'SHIFT TO P THEN DESIRED GEAR'. THE VEHICLE WAS ALREADY IN DRIVE. I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO AN ONGOING MANUFACTURE DEFECT S55. *TR
I STARTED MY CAR AND A SERVICE SHIFTER MESSAGE CAME UP. I WAS PARKED ON A FLAT CEMENT PAD IN MY DRIVEWAY. I ATTEMPTED TO PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE, AND IT WAS VERY HARD TO MOVE THE SHIFTER TO REVERSE. I STOPPED TRYING AND TURNED OFF MY CAR. WHEN I STARTED IT AGAIN THE MESSAGE WAS GONE. *TR
WATER HAS LEAKED IN TO MY VEHICLE AND CAUSED ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE TO SHORT OUT AND NEED TO BE SERVICED. THE EPB NOW AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGES ITSELF WHEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK, CAUSING US TO BE STRANDED. UPON INVESTIGATION, IT APPEARS AS THOUGH NUMEROUS INDIVIDUALS WITH MY VEHICLE THAT HAVE A SUNROOF EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUE, POSSIBLY DUE TO DRAINAGE TUBES INSTALLED BY JEEP THAT THEY DID NOT MAKE OWNERS AWARE OF. *TR
AFTER HAVING THE RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FIXED MY CAR STARTED STALLING OUT. IT SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING AND YOU HAVE TO STOP AND SHIFT TO PARK THEN BACK TO DRIVE. IT WILL NOT IDLE FOR LONG AND WILL DIE IF YOU DON'T CONSTANTLY PUMP THE GAS PEDAL. IT ALMOST DIED ON ME WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO A PARKING LOT IN ON COMING TRAFFIC. AND IT DIDN'T WANT TO GO UP HILL INTO MY DRIVEWAY, WHICH IS A TINY INCLINE. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH MY CAR UNTIL AFTER THE RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING OUT OF THE GARAGE, THE PARKING BRAKE ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RELEASE THE PARKING BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS JEEP CHEROKEE. IT FAILS TO MOVE FORWARD AFTER A STOP WHILE PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR THEN AT ABOUT 3.5 RPM TAKES OFF AND I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE FROM THE BEGINNING. WE HAVE DONE MULTIPLE RECALLS AND STILL THERE ARE HARD SHIFTING ISSUES AND NOW THE PTU HAS FAILED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATING SHIFT TO PARK AND SHIFT TO DESIRE GEARS. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE ENTERING A DRIVEWAY OR WHILE IN REVERSE AND ALSO WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WOULD START TO SHAKE AND JERK VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND PULLED TO THE LEFT WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATED SHIFT TO PARK AND SHIFT TO DESIRE GEARS AND ALSO INDICATED SERVICE TRANSMISSION AND ALSO SERVICE BRAKES. THE CONTACT POWERED OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, SHIFTED OUT OF NEUTRAL THEN INTO PARK BEFORE SELECTING DRIVE. THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMAL TO HALF A BLOCK BEFORE THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SPIRIT AUTOMOTIVE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (4611 AVENUE Q, LUBBOCK, TX 79412), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC UPDATED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SOFTWARE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V447000 (POWER TRAIN). AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE AND BEFORE REACHING HER RESIDENCE THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, COASTED INTO HER DRIVEWAY AND STALLED. THE CONTACT CALLED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THEM TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE TECHNICIAN CALLED THE CONTACT AND INFORMED HER THE VEHICLE WAS READY FOR PICK UP HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,700.
WHEN FIRST PURCHASED VEHICLE PROBLEM WERE IT ACTING LIKE IT WASN'T GETTING UP THE SPEED NOW AGAIN IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS I DID BEFORE WITH THE STALLING AND ACTING LIKE IT DON'T WANT TO RUN. THE GEAR THROTTERS AND THE VEHICLE RUNS VERY SLOW WAS IN TRAFFIC AND WAS SO AFRAID SOMEONE W AS GOING TO RUN INTO ME CAUSE ALL A SUDDEN THE JEEP STARTED STALLING AND NOT MOVING AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT THEN WOULD PUT UP SPEED THIS IS VERY UNSAFE IM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE BECAUSE OF THE STALLING AND THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT KEEP COMING ON CHECK TRANSMISSION I HAVE TAKEN IT TO JEEP TWICE WITHIN A TWO WEEK PERIOD AND IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM FIRST THEY SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION SECONDLY A WEEK OR LESS LATER THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN I TOOK IT BACK THEY SAID PUT A BRAND NEW BATTERY IN IT THE SAME PROBLEM I ASKED JEEP WAS THERE A RECALL ON THAT PARTICULAR VEHICLE IF SO IT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED AND FIX BEFORE IT CAUSES A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. IM SO AFRAID IF THERE'S A SOLUTION THAT COULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED IF JEEP BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ANY TRANSMISSION ISSUE WITH THE 2014 JEEP CHEROKEES . ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE 4 YEARS AND I KEEP IT SERVICE .THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED OVER A WEEK AGO BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION SERVICE LIGHT CAME BACK ON THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WAS FEARFUL.GETTING A WARNING PUT GEAR IN PARK CUT OFF VEHICLE AND RESTART WHEN DID IT CONTINUE TO STALLING AND WOULD NOT SWITCH IN DRIVE MOTION. *TR
THE CAR STATES 'SERVICE SHIFTER' AND DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE CAR. IT LIGHTS EVERYTHING UP RED ON THE SHIFTER AND YOU CAN'T CLEAR 'SERVICE SHIFTER' OFF THE DASH. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING AND YOU HAVE TO HOPE WHEN YOU PUT IT IN PARK AGAIN IT'LL GET YOU HOME SAFE. *TR
SERVICE TRANSMISSION CODE P0934. SOMETIMES IT'LL RUN JUST FINE NO PROBLEMS. OTHER TIMES I HAVE TO START AND TURN IT OFF SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION WILL WORK PROPERLY. AFTER THIS STARTED HAPPENING THE INFO CENTER STARTED DISPLAYING SERVICE SHIFTER. NO ONE WILL DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AND CHRYSLER WANTS TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AT COST TO ME BECAUSE THEY DON'T WORK ON THEM, THEY REPLACE THEM. *TR

THE VEHICLE SWITCHES GEARS TO NEURAL AND TURNS THE VEHICLE OFF. WHILE DRIVING ABOUT TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN THE VEHICLE STALLED TURNING THE CAR COMPLETELY OFF MAKING ME RESTART THE VEHICLE IN THIS FASHION: (STEP ON BREAK, SWITCH GEAR INTO PARK AND RESTART) LOTS OF ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION SKIPPING. THIS HAPPENED AFTER I GOT IT FROM A DEALER ONLY BEEN THE OWNER FOR ABOUT A YEAR SEEMS LIKE VEHICLE KEEPS GETTING WORSE. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GAVE A CODE P0520 SO AN OIL PRESSURE SWITCH WAS INSTALLED AND A FRONT CRANK SEAL SO THAT WAS REPLACED AT VEHICLE MILEAGE 51,722. 2014 TRAILHAWK STILL LEAKING OIL SO OIL PAN GASKET REPAIRED. STILL LEAKING OIL SO DIFFERENT MECHANIC ORDERED AN OIL FILTER HOUSIN COMPONENT TO FIX. HE SAID MANY OIL FILTER HOUSINGS IN JEEP CHEROKEES HAVE HAD THESE REPLACED!! SMELLED OIL WHILE DRIVING AND SAW OIL DROPS ON GARAGE FLOOR. THESE OIL FILTER HOUSINGS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED. I'VE SPENT OVER $1500 TO FIX AN OIL LEAK BECAUSE MECHANICS MISDIAGNOSED. DEALERSHIP MECHANICS SHOULD BE AWARE OF THESE INFERIOR PARTS!
STALLING, WHEN VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP OR SLOWS DOWN IT STALLS AND HARD TO START. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED WHILE DRIVING BUT DID NOT STALL OR SHUT-OFF. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURE AND BECAME AWARE OF AN ISSUE WITH GASOLINE FUMES ENTERING THE VAPOR CANISTER AND CAUSING A STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I OWN A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT. WHILE I'M DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION INADVERTENTLY SHIFTES TO NEUTRAL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE MOTIVE POWER. IT ALSO WILL REV IT'S SELF WHILE STATIONARY, MY CAR WILL LOOSE POWER OR GAIN ITS OWN RPMS WHILE ON A FLAT HWY, THIS PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE. THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE NEEDES TO BE REPROGRAMMED. ACCORDING TO THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN #'S 19V447000 & 16V529000 THE RECALL #'S ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SAME ISSUES I'M HAVING ARE V69 & S55. WHEN I TYPE IN MY VIN# TO CHECK FOR THESE RECALLS MY VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED HAS HAVING ANY RECALLS. MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE ADDED SO I CAN PROPERLY HAVE THESE ISSUES RESOLVED.
A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM EXISTS WITH THE TCM/PCM FOR OUR VEHICLE WHEREAS IT GIVES LITTLE TO NO WARNING THAT POWER IS FAILING AND STALLS OUT WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION; RUNS ROUGH; RPM INDICATOR SHOWS ACCELERATION WHEN IT'S BASICALLY GOING UNDER 25 MPH; LIST GOES ON. THREE WEEKS AGO, NEW STARTER PUT IN. TWO WEEKS AGO, CAR STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN. DROPPED OFF AT DODGE TO LOCATE PROBLEM. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN PAST YEAR VEHICLE HAS HAD SAME ISSUE. IN DEC '19, DODGE CLAIMS IT NEEDED UPDATES FOR THE TRANSMISSION. OKAY...RUN UPDATES...$500 LATER. VEHICLE HAS BEEN INTO DODGE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES SINCE CAR WAS PURCHASED, AND BOTH TCM (RECALL REPLACEMENT) AND PCM (LAST WEEK) HAVE BEEN REPLACED. WE INQUIRED ABOUT ANY FURTHER UPDATES NEEDING DONE AT THAT TIME..."NO, IT'S GOOD TO GO." UNFORTUNATELY, DURING THIS PCM REPAIR PROCESS, THEY INFORMED US THAT THE "BAD" PCM HAD ALSO DAMAGED THE STARTER (YES, THE BRAND NEW ONE) AND THE CAR BATTERY (NEW AS OF OCT 2019). THE PCM PARTS/REPAIR ALONE SUCKED $1300 OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. IT'S BEEN LESS THAN ONE WEEK SINCE WE FINALLY GOT THE VEHICLE BACK, AND WE ARE RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED AS FAR AS PERFORMANCE, IE RUNNING ROUGH, DASHBOARD MESSAGES, LOSING POWER, STALLING OUT, ETC...AND THE NEW PCM WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN THE PROBLEM. WHY ISN'T THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE? IT'S COSTING A SMALL FORTUNE JUST TRYING TO ENSURE IT'S EVEN SAFE TO DRIVE. OTHER DRIVERS TEND NOT TO BE VERY ALERT WHEN IT COMES TO APPROACHING A VEHICLE THAT IS GOING MUCH SLOWER THAN OTHER TRAFFIC; VERY SCARY WHEN OUR JEEP BEGINS TO FAIL IN TRAFFIC. THIS ISSUE PRESENTS SAFETY CONCERNS FOR MY KIDS DRIVING VEHICLE. THESE ARE COMMON, KNOWN ISSUES AMONG OTHER JEEP OWNERS AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE CONSUMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR UPKEEP/REPAIR ON A BAD AUTO ENGINEERING DESIGN, MUCH LESS DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING THE "SERVICE PARK BREAK" ILLUMINATED ALONG WITH THE AN ILLUMINATED YELLOW/AMBER COLORED "BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING PARKING BRAKE" WARNING LIGHT AND BRAKE ON THE CENTER PANEL. INTERMITTENTLY A "4WD TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE" WILL COME ON AS WELL. I TOOK TO MY DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE IS WATER LEAKING AND HAS DAMAGED/CORRODED THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND ISN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. ISN'T THIS PART OF A MANUFACTURER DEFECT?
VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO FORWARD WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, CAR WAS UNABLE TO BE PUSHED OUT OF THE INTERSECTION, AND REQUIRED A TOW TRUCK TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. REPAIR WAS 35844 UPDATES AND DRIVE LEARN REPROGRAM TCM PCM 68103804AR TO 68241152AH. *TR
THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON MULTIPLE TIMES (FIRST DAY 10/4/2019 DRIVING LOCALLY), REGARDING SERVICING THE TRANSMISSION, BRAKE AND AIRBAG AFTER STARTING AND IN A NON-MOVING MODE. ON THE SECOND DAY OF OWNERSHIP 10/5/2019, I TOOK IT TO THE CLOSEST JEEP DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM CHECK ON THE WARNING LIGHT. THE TECH ADVISOR GAVE ME A PRINT OUT OF ALL THE ERROR CODES SHOWING (QUITE A FEW). ON THE SIXTH DAY 10-10-2019, I ONLY HAD DRIVEN IT LOCALLY WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED OUT OF THE DRIVE GEAR WHEN I WAS AT A STOP SIGN. THE DRIVE TRANSMISSION WASN'T ENGAGING WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL. I PUT IT IN 'PARK' AND THEN BACK INTO 'DRIVE', AND IT THEN WENT FORWARD. I DROVE HOME, AND I PARKED THE JEEP IN MY YARD. I DIDN'T DRIVE IT AGAIN WITH A REAL CONCERN THAT THE JEEP WASN'T SAFE TO DRIVE AND NOT WANTING TO GET STRANDED ALONG A ROAD SOMEWHERE. IN 11/2019, I NEXT DROVE THE JEEP IN MY ATTEMPT TO GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO HAVE THE DIAGNOSTICS DONE TO FIND OUT THE EXACT ISSUES. THE TRANSMISSION DID THE SAME THING AND SLIPPED OUT OF 'DRIVE' IN BUSY STOP AND GO TRAFFIC IN ROUTE ON A 5 LANE HIGHWAY AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AFTER STOPPING AND GIVING GAS TO MOVE FORWARD. THIS TIME IT TOOK FOUR ATTEMPTS (PLACING IN PARK AND THEN DRIVE) BEFORE THE JEEP WOULD DRIVE FORWARD. I MADE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON A PRAYER FIVE MINUTES FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD. THE FINAL DIAGNOSIS (12/18-2019) WAS THAT THE JEEP NEEDS A TRANSMISSION/ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. 'THERE IS A BRAKE IN THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE CIRCUIT FOR COMMUNICATION AND DEPENDING ON HOW THE ENGINE FLEX'S, THE COMMUNICATION LINE DROPS OUT AND CAUSES THE TCM TO GO OFFLINE'. ON 4/12/2020, I TOOK PHOTOS OF THE CODE FLASHING (SEE ATTACHED IMAGES). IT WOULDN'T START. ONE WEEK LATER, IT STARTED AND I DROVE IT IN MY YARD TO PARK IT FARTHER OUT OF MY MAIN DRIVEWAY. THERE IT HAS SAT FOR A FEW MONTHS.

DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY AND HAVE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE MALFUNCTIONING FRONT COLLISION WARNING AND THE NOT WORKING SENSORS
This has been an issue since I have bought the vehicle in 2020. I have taken it to the shop to be repaired 3 times in which was told the issue was repaired. The rear differential and transfer case units are bad. Upon my research there are multiple and I mean tons of 2014 Jeep Cherokee limited with this same issue. It is a known manufacturer issue and it concerns a huge road safety for drivers, passengers and other drivers on the road. Major concern. I have reported this once before and I am reporting again as my vehicle has been fixed 3 times and it still is an issue so this needs to be addressed for other Jeep owners for the safety of everyone. Please advice quickly and please get this safety concern on the recall list AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! ALSO PLEASE ADVISE THIS TO THE JEEP MANUFACTURER TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF IN ALL THE NEW VEHICLES!
THE SHIFTER IS NOT INTUITIVE AND PROVIDES POOR TACTILE AND VISUAL FEEDBACK TO THE DRIVER, INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR UNINTENDED GEAR SELECTION.ALSO WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT THE VEHICLE REQUESTED ME TO PARK, AND WHEN RETURNED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DID NOT DRIVE, I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON.

AFTER FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GAS IT WILL HESITATE AND STALL OUT WHILE DRIVING. IT TELLS YOU TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN YOU HAVE TO RE CRANK IT TO SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE. AFTER THE TANK IS ABOUT 3/4 FULL IT STOPS STALLING.
THE SHIFTER IS NOT INTUITIVE AND PROVIDES POOR TACTILE AND VISUAL FEEDBACK TO THE DRIVER, INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR UNINTENDED GEAR SELECTION.ALSO WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT THE VEHICLE REQUESTED ME TO PARK, AND WHEN RETURNED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DID NOT DRIVE, I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON.
WENT TO MY DEALER BECAUSE THE KEPT TEXTING ME TO DO THIS RECALL. I WAS NOT HAVING ANY ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE. WHILE THERE, SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME MY CAR WAS THROWING A CODE SERVICE SHIFTER AND WAS LIKE THAT WHEN I CAME IN TODAY. I SAID THAT IT WASN'T LIKE THAT WHEN I CAME IN. HE TOLD ME IT WAS A SENSOR AND IT WOULD BE 700 PLUS DOLLARS TO FIX IT. AGAIN I TOLD HIM THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WHEN I CAME IN AND I REFUSED THE REPAIR. I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE ON CARGUS AND SEEMS THE WHOLE JEEP COMMUNITY IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN THE CODE SERVICE SHIFTER COMES ON IT BLOCKED ALL THE DIGITAL READ OUT INCLUDING SPEEDOMETER SO YOU CAN'T SEE YOUR SPEED. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS REAL OR A BAD SITUATION AND WHAT THE CAR WILL DO, IF IT TRULY IS A SHIFTER MALFUNCTION. THIS MAKES IT VERY UNSAFE AND SCARY TO DRIVE.
STOPPED AT A LIGHT. WHEN IT TURNED GREEN, I TOUCHED THE GAS AND THE CAR WOULDN'T SHIFT. IT WAS STUCK AND WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE VERY SLOWLY TO 10 MPH. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED MY ENGINE OFF THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WAS FINE. THREE DAYS LATER, I'M AT A RED LIGHT, STOPPED AND THEN ACCELERATED TO MAKE A RIGHT. AGAIN, IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE PAST 10 MPH. TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WHEN IT CAME BACK ON, IT ACCELERATED WITH SOME HESITATION BUT DID REACH 40 MPH. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT ILLUMINATED. IN ABOUT A MILE, IT STARTED TO HESITATE AGAIN AS IF IT WERE ABOUT TO CHOKE. MADE IT HOME WITH THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT STILL ON. I ONLY HAVE 68K MILES AND DO CITY AND LOCAL ROAD TRIPS--NO SERIOUS OFF ROADING. TRANSMISSION SHOULDN'T GO UP THIS QUICKLY. LUCKILY, NOT MANY PEOPLE ON THE ROAD.
WHILE DRIVING JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE I HAVE NOTICED THAT WITHIN FIRST 10 MINUTES OF DRIVING JEEP START GETTING FLICKERING LIGHTS AND THEN AFTER 5-10 SECONDS COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF. ABSOLUTELY OUT, I CANNOT EVEN PUT AN EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON WHEN IT STOPS TO INDICATE THAT I HAVE PROBLEM. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE AN OLD BATTERY BUT I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY FEW DAYS AGO AND THE PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN. THE WORST IS THAT WHILE IT HAPPENS, POWER STEERING AND EVERYTHING ELSE COMPLETELY SHUTS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS I CANNOT PULL ON THE SITE OR AS I SAID PUT EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON.. ONE DAY I HAVE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY WHILE THE CAR STOPPED, FOR A MINUTE OR TWO. I GUESS THAT CUT POWER FROM THE JEEP'S COMPUTER AS WELL. AFTER TWO MINUTES OR SO WHEN I RECONNECTED THE BATTERY AGAIN, I WANTED TO START THE CAR. AFTER A FEW CRANKS I COULD START THE CAR. THE SITUATION I HAVE JUST DESCRIBED IS MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. YET, WHEN I RUN RECALLS USING THE VIN # OF MY CAR I SEE NO RECALLS. I HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED THE JEEP DEALER ASKING WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM. THEY JUST TOLD ME THAT NO RECALL IS AVAILABLE. I WOULD LIKE TO DOCUMENT THIS FOR OTHERS TO BE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AS WELL AS DOCUMENT IF THERE IS GOING MAJOR INCIDENTS.
VECHICAL LOST SPEED, STALLED, NO POWER. WILL NOT EXCELL. ENGINE LIGHT AND ETC LIGHT ON. ON A CITY STREET IN MOTION. IT LOOSES STEERING AND WILL STALL ALSO. I REPLACED THE BATTERY.
DURING MY MOST RECENT VISIT THE VEHICLE RECEIVED RECALL UPDATES. A COUPLE DAYS AFTER THE STEREO SYSTEM FROZE AS I WAS DRIVING. I PULLED OVER TURNED CAR OFF THEN ON AND IT BEGAN WORKING AGAIN. SOON AFTER I REALIZED THE CAR HAS BEEN SLUGGISH TO START. CURRENTLY IT IS NOT STARTING AND I GET A BATTERY LOW VOLTAGE MESSAGE.

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE CITY STREET GOING TO THE GROCERY STORE AND IT WAS MAKING A WEIRD NOISE. THEN EVERY TIME I CAME OUT OF BRAKING IT WOULD SEIZE UP, JERK AND MAKE A GRINDING NOISE. I TOOK IT TO A TIRE PLUS SHOP BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE BRAKES. THE MECHANIC PUT THE CAR ON A RACK AND SHOULD ME THAT THE TRANSFER CASE WAS CRACKED AND LEAKING FLUID. HE SAID THAT IF I DROVE ANY FURTHER I WOULD HAVE BEEN STRANDED.
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED WITH MAYBE 60,000 MILES IN AUGUST 2018 AND WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF THE PURCHASE, ON DECEMBER 24 2018, THE CAR JERKED THEN STALLED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET. THE MESSAGE BOARD GAVE A TRANSMISSION ERROR AND SAID TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART. AFTER RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE DID NOT DRIVE WELL (HARD TO STEER, ACCELERATE). HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY DID SOME WORK ON THE TRANSMISSION. IN NOVEMBER 2019, JUST AFTER REFUELING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE I WAS AT A BUSY TRAFFIC LIGHT DURING RUSH HOUR. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUE AFTER THAT. IN JANUARY 2020, I REFUELED MY CAR, DROVE MAYBE 10 MILES AND THE CAR STARTED LOSING POWER AGAIN AT A BUSY STOP LIGHT IN A LARGE HIGHWAY INTERSECTION. THIS TIME THE CAR JERKED, THEN I GOT THE SAME TRANSMISSION ERROR AS THE FIRST TIME. I TURNED THE CAR OFF THEN ON, AND I WAS ABLE TO LIMP TO MY JOB (SAME DIFFICULT STEERING AND ACCELERATION). TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY ADDRESSED A RECALL ISSUE (TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE) AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (OIL PRESSURE SENSOR). IN MARCH 2020, JUST AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, IT STARTED LOSING POWER AT A RED LIGHT. IT DIDN'T FULLY LOSE POWER BEFORE I MADE IT TO MY HOUSE AND HAD IT TOWED. NOW THAT I'VE MADE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN REFUELING AND POWER LOSS, THE DEALERSHIP HAS REALIZED THAT THERE IS A FAULTY VALVE OR SENSOR CAUSING GAS TO LEAK INTO PLACES IT SHOULDN'T. IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S COMMON ISSUE, AND IT'S HONESTLY VERY UNSAFE SINCE THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER AS YOU ARE DRIVING!!!

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle was making abnormal rattling sounds while driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that no issues were found. The contact stated that the abnormal sounds became increasingly louder while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power transfer unit had failed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist since the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

SERVICE SHIFTER CAME ON DASH, WON'T CLEAR. WOULDN'T COME OUT OF PARK ONE TIME
ON STARTUP OF MY VEHICLE, THE WIPERS START ON FULL SPEED WITHOUT ANY CONTROL. THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS DO NOT FUNCTION AND MY VEHICLE HAS ROUGH SHIFTING. LASTLY, THE RUNNING LIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE DO NOT FUNCTION WHEN THIS ERROR IS OCCURRING. THE ERROR THAT APPEARS IS "SHIFT TO P AND THEN DESIRED GEAR". SO I LITERALLY HAVE TO STOP MY VEHICLE (EVEN IF I AM ON THE HIGHWAY) SHIFT TO P AND THEN BACK TO D. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHILE ON THE ROAD. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IS BY STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY TO RESET THE SOFTWARE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE FLASHED THE SOFTWARE MULTIPLE TIMES, HOWEVER THE SAME ISSUE KEEPS OCCURRING. NOW I AM EXPERIENCING A "SERVICE SHIFTER" ERROR. THIS ERROR FLASHES ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WHEN DRIVING AND ALL OF THE SHIFTER LIGHTS ILLUMINATE RED. THIS ERROR HAPPENS SPORADICALLY AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS NOT BEING ABLE TO USE TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS IS ALSO EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS AND DANGEROUS WHILE ON THE ROAD.

THERE IS A NOISE WHEN THE WHEELS ARE TURNING, NOT WHEN AT A STOP. DEALER SAID IT IS THE BEARINGS IN THE DRIVE SHAFT. THE WHOLE DRIVE SHAFT HAS TO BE REPLACED, NOT JUST THE BEARINGS.
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS, IT DISENGAGES AND PUTS THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. IT ALSO JERKS. THE CAR WAS IN TRAFFIC, HAD TO PULL OVER.
