My parking gage engaged several times while parked I saw that it said the parking breaking was engaged but I had not put it on. Next it engaged when stopped for a traffic light. I was able to restart it several times. Noticed that this was most likely to happen after a rainfall. Last time it happened my son was able to trick it into disengaging and get it home. Next day it had to be flatbed towed to my mechanic. He changed the parking break switch and that burned out again. After careful investigation he found over two gallons of water under the spare tire where the parking break module is housed. It had to be replaced as well as both calipers. The module also had to be reprogrammed. It was at there 22 days. The mechanic bill was nearly $1,800. Now I need extensive body work to perhaps stop the water coming in thru the seams underneath the power-lift door which had opened. In checking previous complaints it seems that This should have been a recall long ago as it has happened to other similar jeeps.
Flooding water is getting into car, trunk where the spare tire is kept. That whole portion is wet with water and it is affecting the electrical because it is getting wet.
My vehicle has never been in an accident. I have pictures showing a wide gap on the side of the back window on the hatchback. Lots of water gets into the back of the jeep. The water burned out some wiring that has caused issues with my jeep. It’s a 1200 dollar job, dealer states the water is getting in due to the design of the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while entering the vehicle after a rainy day, the contact became aware that the vehicle was filled with water in the front and rear passenger's side seats. The contact mentioned that the water entered through the sunroof while it was raining. The contact was removing the water from the vehicle with a bucket and stated that mildew and mold were growing inside the vehicle due to the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
The body seam is leaking causing floor board in front and rear to have puddles of water in the floor, and mold. I'm on oxygen. This is not safe at all. Also the rear Mopar had to be replaced cause of park brake failure. This needs to be recalled asap. It's happening on a lot of your jeep cheerokees. Thank you
I was unloading my trunk from my sons birthday party and when I pressed the button in the rear hatch to automatically close the trunk. The trunk would not close. Usually I can tap it and it will reinitiate the closing mechanism or stop to prevent something from being closed inside. There is some sort of malfunction in the closing mechanism of my jeep.
Lift gate will not latch(close)

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the power liftgate control module and headliner needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V393000 (Structure). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was previously repaired under the recall and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. This 7 year old car has an electronic parking break which automatically turns itself on and cannot be disengaged without towing the car to the dealer. This is because this 7 year old car has a common internal leak that soaks the left wall in the trunk and the spare tire component. The left wall of the trunk is where the ECU (computer) that controls the parking break lives and it is water damaged. I'm not sure if this is the best place to report this. If there is a better place please let me know? Is it legal to sell a car that becomes non functional and moldy from hidden water damage after only 7 years, then charge to fix it? This problem is common and I think it needs to be a recall. We live on an island and this will cost over $1500 to fix? There is no way to manually disengage the parking break. Is it safe to have a water damaged computer automatically engaging your parking break? Do these electronic parking breaks count as having an emergency break for the purposes of stopping a car on an icy hill when the breaks fail or to take a road test for the safety of the instructor? Is it legal in Massachusetts that to replace this ECU requires a diagnostic scan tool to align the PROXI configuration data which most small local mechanics do not have?
Rear right door handle just falls off when trying to operate the door, preventing entry into the door. Many complaints online about this defect.
SUNROOF SEALS MELTS AND COMPLETELY RIPS OFF. I HAVE HAD IT REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. OF COURSE NOW IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND CONTINUES TO DO IT.
WATER IS FILLING THE INSIDE FLOOR ON VEHICLE ON DRIVERS SIDE. CAUSING MOLD BUILD UP. PROBABLY SAME AS THE R67 RECALL ON SAME YEAR OF JEEP. THEY ARE THIS VIN DOESN'T FALL UNDER SAME RECALL BUT HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. BODY COWL LEAKING INTO CABIN. HAPPENS AT ALL TIMES AS LONG AS THERE IS MOISTURE OUTSIDE.
WATER INTRUSIONS INTO MY CAR DOOR ON DRIVER-SEAT DURING THE RAINY DAYS. I HAD TO RELEASE THE POOLING WATER INSIDE THE DRIVER-SEAT DOOR BY REMOVING PANEL CLIPS AT THE BOTTOM OF CAR DOOR.
IN AUGUST WHILE FLAT TOWING OUR JEEP BEHIND OUR MOTORHOME WE EXPERIENCED SOME VIOLENT SHAKING AFTER MAKING A LEFT TURN. WE DID NOT THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT IT AT THAT TIME, THINKING MAYBE WE HAD HIT AN UNEVEN SPOT IN THE ROAD. A FEW DAYS LATER THE SHAKING OCCURRED AGAIN--THIS TIME TAKING A RIGHT TURN. AGAIN, WE THOUGHT IT WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. WE CONTINUED ON OUR TRIP AND SEVERAL DAYS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON A STRAIGHT, BUT BUMPY ROAD. ALL THREE TIMES WE HAD TO BRING OUR MOTORHOME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I BEGAN TO RESEARCH TO SEE IF OTHER RV'ERS HAD EVER EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM AND I CAME ACROSS NUMEROUS FORUMS CITING THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT AT THAT TIME THERE WAS NO SPECIFIC CAUSE. HOWEVER, MOST OF THE EVENTS OCCURRED WHILE TOWING JEEP CHEROKEES. AND, IT SEEMED THAT WHILE BEING VERY AGGRAVATING, THESE EVENTS HAPPENED DURING VERY SLOW DRIVING AND WERE PROBABLY NOT DANGEROUS TO US OR OTHER DRIVERS. FOR THE REST OF OUR TRIP, WE MANEUVERED CORNERS AND BUMPY ROADS CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY. WE FELT WE COULD MANAGE THIS PROBLEM SAFELY THINKING IT ONLY HAPPENED AT SLOW SPEEDS. HOW WRONG WE WERE! WE JUST RETURNED FROM AN 8 DAY ROAD TRIP THAT TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE. WE HAD A COUPLE OF INCIDENTS OF WOBBLING WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY, BUT THEN WHILE DRIVING AT AROUND 55, AN 18 WHEELER PASSED US ON A NARROW ROAD (WE WERE GOING OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS) AND THE JEEP BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY CAUSING THE MOTORHOME TO ALSO SHAKE. WE THOUGHT IT WAS CAUSED BY THE WIND FORCE. WE BRAKED AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, GOT OUT TO CHECK THE VEHICLES AND DISCOVERED THE TOW BAR HAD BENT BY THE FORCE OF THE SHAKING. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE SO WE STARTED BACK ON THE HIGHWAY. LATER, DRIVING AROUND 65 MPH THE JEEP STARTED SHAKING, VERY UNEXPECTEDLY. AFTER STOPPING, WE DISCOVERED THE FRONT OF THE JEEP SEVERELY DAMAGED AND ALMOST TORN OFF FROM THE TOWBAR. .
