The air bags did not deploy. The contact's husband sustained cuts, bruises, and neck injuries. The vehicle was towed to a collision shop. The vehicle was destroyed. There was a police report filed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The contact stated that the manufacturer's representative pulled the data recorder from the vehicle and an assessment was made of the data from the crash. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.
The contact owned a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the contact drove into the next lane and crashed into another vehicle because of an off-tire rod. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was going 35 MPH at the time of the crash. The vehicle was towed to a lot. No warning light was illuminated. A police report was filed. One person was injured. The driver has had a head and rib injury. Medical Treatment was needed for the injury. The contact had got an mri for her ribs and took Tylenol for her head. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and have not reached back out to the contact yet. The failure mileage was approximately 115,020.
Air bag service light came on. Took it to a reputable repair business. Diagnosed with codes B0020-13 Left side seat deployment Squib 1. Found tech service bulletin #10-002-18 for replacing air bag seat harness and seat bolts for this code. Chrysler recommends BOTH harnesses are replaced (left and right). Chrysler is charging $2,677.16 For the parts. They say it is a 'common' problem and in fact the parts are on back order until at least January 19th. This is a safety issue as the airbag will not deploy. The vehicle is less than 10 years old, which meets two out of three criteria for it to be considered a recall issue. I cannot afford this type of repair which is a problem I did nothing to create.
During an accident, the air bags failed to deploy when hit by a Dodge Ram 2500. The vehicle was totalled by the insurance company, and the insurance company took ownership of the vehicle.

this vehicle shows all recalls have been completed. however, every time it rains, the hatch compartment fills with water. 10/30/2022, my electronic parking brake light came on and the vehicle was stuck in park. Once we got the car home, I opened the hatch and removed the spare tire; there was standing water in the area from rain. This morning I was leaving for work an d the following lights came on; 1) Service 4WD 2) Service electronic Parking Brake 3) Service Airbags 4) Service Front Collision system 5) Service auto start stop 6) Adaptive Cruise Control not available 7) cruise/ fcw unab=vailable- service required This vehicle has been a complete nightmare. I did record the event as we used a shop vac to remove the water. the Service 4 wd light comes on and goes off randomly daily; the PTU was "flashed" but the problem continued. I have contacted the dealership only to be told all recalls are complete and I must pay for the additional repairs. I have contacted Jeep and have had zero resolutions.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN IT LEFT THE ROAD. I SWERVED TO MISS A DOG. I HAD MY SEATBELT ON DURING THIS ACCIDENT HOWEVER MY HEAD (TOP, RIGHT FRONT OF MY HEAD) HIT THE WINDSHIELD GLASS AND THE GLASS BROKE/SHATTERED. MY HAIR WAS CAUGHT IN THE BROKEN CRACKS OF THE GLASS ON THE WINDSHIELD AND MY HAIR WAS PULLED OUT OF MY HEAD, I GUESS WHEN THE SEATBELT PULLED ME BACK INTO POSITION IT MANAGED TO KEEP MY HAIR LODGED. I GOT SMALL PIECES OF GLASS OUT OF MY SCALP FOR A WEEK. I HAD OTHER INJURIES AS WELL. EVERY SINGLE AIRBAG OF THIS CAR WAS DEPLOYED AND MY VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS. I WAS ONLY GOING AROUND 45 MPH. I AM THANKFUL TO BE HERE SHARING THIS PASSAGE. I JUST HAVE TRIED TO FIGURE OUT HOW I MANAGED TO HIT THE WINDSHIELD WHILE MY SEATBELT WAS ON MY BODY AND THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.*DT*JB
TAKATA RECALL, AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON STATING TO SERVICE AIR BAG. UPON TAKING THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER SHIP I WAS INFORMED THAT MY ENTIRE AIR BAG SYSTEM HAS TO BE TAKEN OUT AND REWIRED DUE TO THIS WARNING LIGHT COMING ON OR I WONT HAVE ANY AIR BAGS.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER JEEP WHEN WE HIT BLACK ICE. MY WIFE LOST CONTROL OF THE JEEP AND HIT TWO FENCE POLES AND A TREE. THE JEEP SUSTAINED HEAVY FRONT END DAMAGE. SHE WAS TRAVELING 40-45 MPH AN HOUR. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN THE VEHICLE ON IMPACT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT DROVE OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID AN ANIMAL IN THE ROAD. BOTH FRONTAL SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR AN IMPACT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WAS NO BODY DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND METAL DAMAGED MY FACE
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY A PICKUP PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND I HIT HER HEAD ON. I WAS AT AROUND 40-50 MPH WHEN MY JEEP IMPACTED. THE IMPACT WAS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO RUPTURE THE RADIATOR AND THE FRONT BRAKES BLEW OUT. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE REPORTED THE NO DEPLOY TO JEEP.
MY DAUGHTER WRECKED ON 4/11 AND HER JEEP ROLLED TWICE IN WHICH THE FRONT AND SIDE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. THE ROOF SMASHED INTO HER HEAD REST RESULTING IN A CONCUSSION, FRACTURED HIP, AND TORN HAMSTRING. SHE WAS LIFELIGHTED. I CONTACTED JEEP AND THEY CONDUCTED AN INVESTIGATION AND THEY BELIEVED THE AIRBAG SYSTEM OPERATED PROPERLY. THE WRECK REPORT AND COPY OF JEEP'S REPORT IS INCLUDED.
COMMAND VIEW DUAL-PANE PANORAMIC SUNROOF. IS EXTREMELY NOISY WHEN DRIVING. WAS REAFFIXED OR REINSTALLED BY DEALERSHIP AND NOW NOISIER THAN BEFORE. FAULTY AIR BAG WAS REPLACED AT SAME TIME AS HORN WAS NOT WORKING ALSO ??
JAN 7 MY SON HAD HEAD ON CRASH WITH DODGE HEMI TRUCK. THE TRUCK WAS TOTALED AND CAR WAS 10 GRAND IN DAMAGE, MY CAR AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY TROOPER AND OTHER PERSON IN CRASH WAS SHOCKED. AUTO BODY SHOP INSTRUCTED ME TO CONTACT CHRYSLER, AND THEY CAME SAID NORMAL THE TRANS SENSOR HAS BEEN MAJOR ISSUE NOW I AM WORRIED THIS SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE ALSO AND NO ONE WILL LISTEN. MY SON AND I WERE IN FRONT AND SIDE IMPACT CRASH WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE ON 4/24/17 WITH SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE BUT NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN OUR VEHICLE. ATTACHED ARE A FEW PHOTOS OF BOTH VEHICLES FOR REFERENCE. WE WERE DRIVING A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE AND WERE HIT BY A DRIVER WHO HYDROPLANED IN A 2011 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. THE REPORTING OFFICER ESTIMATED MY SPEED AT IMPACT WAS 40 MPH. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN THE OTHER VEHICLE BUT NOT IN OURS. CONSIDERING THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, FORCE OF IMPACT AND ESTIMATED TRAVEL SPEED AT IMPACT, I FEEL THE JEEP AIRBAGS FAILED FROM A SAFETY STANDPOINT AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO GO ABOUT INVESTIGATING THIS FURTHER WITH JEEP. AN ACCIDENT REPORT IS AVAILABLE BUT DID NOT UPLOAD DUE TO THE SENSITIVE INFORMATION CONTAINED WITHIN (VIN #'S, NAMES, INSURANCE POLICY NUMBERS, ETC); HOWEVER, THE REPORT CAN BE PROVIDED UNDER SEPARATE COVER IF NEEDED.
