HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM, EVEN WHEN USING HIGH BEAMS. THIS WAS A TERRIBLE DESIGN FLAW THAT HAS BEEN CHANGED IN RECENT JEEP MODELS, BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN OFFERED TO CONVERT PREVIOUS OWNER'S CARS. JEEP NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS AS IT'S A DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY DRIVER SIDE LIGHT BULB 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS . I KEEP SPENDING 60-80$ FOR THESE REPLACEMENTS JUST FOR IT TO GO OUT IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS. MY PASSAGES SIDE HAS NEVER GONE OUT , ONLY THE DRIVER SIDE . THE BULB ISN'T BURNT OUT , YET IT WON'T TURN ON . IT DID THIS WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY AT A STOP SIGN WAITING TO TURN OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD. LUCKILY MY FOG LIGHTS, WHICH HAVE NEVER WENT OUT ON ME, HELP ME SEE THE ROADS AT NIGHT . I JUST CAN'T RISK DRIVING AND GETTING A TICKET FOR THE HEADLIGHT OUT BUT I ALSO CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP REPLACING THE ONE BULB THAT CONSTANTLY GOES OUT . THERE ISN'T ANY CONDENSATION IN THERE EITHER SO I'M NOT SURE WHY IT KEEPS GOING OUT .
FIRST THE JEEP COULD NOT MOVE WHEN WE TURN ON THE ENGINE IS ON, WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY FIXED THAT PROBLEM SAYING IT NEEDED A BATTERY. WE LET THEM PUT THE BATTERY IN AND TOOK IT HOME, NEXT WE GET IN THE CAR TO GO SOMEWHERE, TURN ON THE IGNITION, AND A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD SAYING LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT OUT WE CHECKED THE LIGHTS ON THE JEEP AND THEY DID NOT COME ON, THE HIGH BEAM OR THE LOW BEAM. THIS SOUNDS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM TO ME AND THAT IS WHY I THINK IT SHOULD BE A RECALLED VEHICLES, ALSO, THIS CAR IS LIKE NEW BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT MUCH BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS WE HAVE HAD FROM IT. WHEN A CAR IS RUNNING AND CANNOT MOVE WE KNOW THAT IS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, NOW THIS! PLEASE HELP US NOW!

I PURCHASED A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE SEPTEMBER 2018 WITH 64,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE ON THE STREET, THE VEHICLE WILL JERK REALLY HARD LIKE IT IS CHANGING GEARS. IF I AM PUTTING VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND LEAVING OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY, THE VEHICLE JERKS. WHENEVER I AM DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED (0-45MPH) THE VEHICLE JERKS. WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, LIKE A STOP SIGN, RED LIGHT, OR HEAVY TRAFFIC, VEHICLE JERKS ONCE I ACCELERATE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO DEALER TO BE SERVICED ON NOVEMBER 3, 2018 REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND I WAS TOLD THEY FOUND NO PROBLEMS BUT THERE WAS AN UPDATE (RRT) COMPLETED ON VEHICLE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK TO DEALERSHIP ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2018 FOR ELECTRICAL COMPONENT SERVICES AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE AND WAS TOLD VEHICLE IS NOT SHOWING ANY PROBLEMS BUT MY THERMOSTAT NEEDED REPLACING DUE TO THERMOSTAT RATIONALITY CODE. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR A FUTURE DATE TO THE SERVICE. ALSO HAD LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT FIXED WAS TOLD THE BULB DIDN'T NEED REPLACING THAT SOMEHOW IT CAME UNSCREWED. HEADLIGHT WAS WORKING BEFORE I LEFT, LATER ON THAT DAY HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AGAIN. I LIVE IN HOUSTON WHERE THE TEMPS RE NOW IN THE 50S HIGHS 60S AND I HAD MY HEATER ON, ALL OF A SUDDEN I STARTED TO SMELL SMOKE LIKE OIL SMOKE. BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY LIGHTS COMING ON ON MY DASHBOARD. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL WHY IS MY AUTOMATIC VEHICLE DRIVING LIKE IT'S MANUAL AND WITH IT ONLY HAVING 1 PREVIOUS OWNER THAT ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING???
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO PROJECT ENOUGH LIGHT TO SEE THE ROAD PROPERLY. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE HEADLIGHT COVERS HAD A SMOKEY FILM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
WITHOUT WARNING ALL THE DASH PANEL LIGHTS SHUT OFF. THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE. BOTH INCIDENTS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON HIGHWAYS AT DUSK. ( 5:30 PM, MARCH 7, 2018 ON ILLINOIS I-72 AND 8:15 PM, MAY 31, 2018 ON MISSOURI HIGHWAY 6.) THE DASH LIGHTS CAME BACK ON AFTER 15 - 20 MINUTES AND/OR A RESTART OF THE AUTO. IT WAS TERRIFYING TO EXPERIENCE A SUDDEN LOSS OF DASH LIGHTS AT DUSK AND TRAVELLING AT ROAD SPEED. CAUSE IS UNKNOWN TO ME. I PLAN TO CONTACT MY JEEP DEALERSHIP.
factory headlights are terrible. almost impossible to drive at night and really bad when its raining. talked with local dealer and they said there is no problem. start/stop does not work also.

HEAD LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM, TURNED ON BRIGHT IS NO BETTER. LIGHTS ARE TO SMALL, I CAN'T TRAVEL AT NIGHT UNLESS NECESSARY BECAUSE IT'S DANGEROUS TO TRAVEL WITH LIGHTS THAT DIM. WHEN MAKING A TURN AT NIGHT IT'S PRETTY MUCH GUESSING WHERE YOU ARE, DANGEROUS IN THE RURAL AREA I LIVE IN. THE LIGHTS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED.
DRIVING HOME THE ONLY LIGHTS I HAD WAS THE TOP LED LIGHTS, SPEEDOMETER LIGHTS AND RADIO LIGHT. NO THER LIGHTS WORKED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. IF THE LIGHTS DID WORK WHEN I TURNED MY TURN SIGNAL ON THE LIGHT WENT OFF.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE LESS THAN ADEQUATE. WHEN ONCOMING TRAFFIC I CAN'T SEE AT ALL. IT ALMOST SEEMS LIKE MY HEADLIGHTS AREN'T EVEN ON WHEN I KNOW THEY ARE. THEY ARE FINE WHEN YOUR THE ONLY ONE ON THE ROAD. HOWEVER WHEN IT IS RAINING OR SNOWING IT'S SO DANGEROUS. I CAN'T SEE A THING. AND AS A RESULT I ALMOST HIT SOMEONE WHO WAS WALKING. I HAVE TOLD MY DEALERSHIP IN ONE OF THEIR SURVEYS THAT THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED OR SOMEONE WILL GET HURT. I'VE TOLD THEM IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. IT'S THE ONLY THING I HATE ABOUT IT.
WHEN 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE TURNED ON, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS DIM. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. MAYBE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM...UNKNOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, LAST BEING SEPTEMBER 17, 2016.
ON 9-14 MY LEFT HEADLAMP BURNED OUT, AND ON 12-2 2016 MY RT HEADLAMP BURNED OUT. THESE WERE HID HD/LPS. EACH COST ME $215 TO REPLACE. I ASKED CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS BUT GOT NO RESPONSE. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE TWO LAMPS WOULD BURN OUT WITH THE CAR HAVING APPROX. 30,000 MILES ON IT. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A DEFECT IN "PHILIPS" HID ELEMENTS. *TR
HEADLIGHTS ARE MUCH DIMMER THAN ANY CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN TO THE POINT OF BEING UNSAFE ON UNLIGHTED ROADS AND LOWER VISIBILITY SITUATIONS. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT HEADLAMP PERFORMANCE IS DIMMER THAN HEADLAMPS OF THE OLD SEALED BEAM DESIGN. ????????
