SINCE PURCHASING 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE IT HAS BEEN MORE AT THE DEALERS THAN MY HOME. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE, PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION, SENSORS, AND RADIO ETC. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES FOR SUBSTANTIAL DEFECTS AND IT CONTINUES TO DO SO. THIS FALLS UNDER THE LEMON LAW. IT'S GETTING TO THE POINT I AM SEEKING AN ATTORNEY, IF MY WARRANTY IS NOT EXTENDED AND THIS IS NOT FIX AT NO CHARGE TO ME. LAST NIGHT THE JEEP STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH WARNINGS OF (SHIFT TO P THEN DESIRED GEAR) AND SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM. THIS IS MY LIFE YOU ARE PLAYING WITH, FOR YOU'RE ON GOING DEFECTS. I AM A LOYAL JEEP CUSTOMER. I HAVE A JEEP WRANGLER, JEEP COMPASS AND SEBRING CHRYSLER. ALL I AM ASKING IS FOR MY PIECE OF MIND AND NOT WORRY ABOUT PAYING FOR ANYTHING WHEN I HAVE A DEFECTED AND IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. PLEASE RESPOND AND SOLVED THIS PROBLEM ASAP. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. STEVENS CREEK CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (4100 STEVENS CREEK BLVD, SAN JOSE, CA 95129, (408) 248-1800) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
CAR SHIFTS REALLY HARD AND THEN, TODAY WHEN DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH MY TODDLER IN THE CAR MY CAR SHUT OFF AND SAID SHIFT TO PARK . FINALLY TURNED BACK ON .
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY WHEN ANOTHER DRIVER ALERTED ME THERE WAS A SMALL FIRE COMING FROM UNDER MY CAR. I PULLED OVER INTO AN EMPTY LOT AND WHEN I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR I SAW FLAMES FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. I STEPPED BACK AND WITHIN MINUTES THE ENTIRE FRONT ENGINE WAS CONSUMED WITH FLAMES.
DRIVING 55 ON RURAL HIGHWAY, TRANSMISSION MESSAGE APPEARS. CAR WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT OR UP SHIFT. PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. ISSUE SEEMED TO GO AWAY AND GET ME TO MY DESTINATION. UPON MY RETURN TRIP ISSUE ALSO RETURNED 4 MORE TIMES. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK, HAD THIS HAPPENED WHILE TURNING ON SOME OF OUR ROADS IT COULD EASILY CAUSE A VERY BAD ACCIDENT. CAR HAS HAD ISSUES BEFORE WITH SERVICE SHIFT MESSAGES, AS WELL AND A SLEW OF OTHER ISSUES DOCUMENTED BY THE DEALER. ALL TO DO WITH POWERTRAIN.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM SCHOOL, THE "SERVICE PARKING BRAKE" LIGHT CAME UP ON THE DASH. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND TURNED IT BACK ON. THE LIGHT DID NOT COME BACK ON, SO I DIDNT THINK IT WAS AN ISSUE. TWO DAYS LATER I GOT INTO MY CAR AND TURNED ON THE ENGINE AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS NOT ABLE TO REMOVE THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE. I HAD TO SEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT THE PARKING BRAKE AUTOMATICALLY COMES OFF IF YOU PUT YOUR SEAT BELT ON AND PUT THE VEHICLE INTO D OR R. SINCE THIS HAPPENED THE LEVER TO REMOVE THE PARKING BREAK WOULD NOT WORK AT ALL. EVERY TIME I PRESSED THE BUTTON, IT SAID SERVICE PARKING BRAKE. I ALSO READ ONLINE THAT A TSB WAS ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE PARKING BRAKE MODULE IN THE REAR, AS WELL AS THE HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED SINCE IT WAS CORRODED. HOW WOULD SOMETHING THAT IS IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, HIDDEN BEHIND THE SIDE PANELS GET CORRODED AND HAVE THE OWNER BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE PLACED IN A LOCATION WHERE IT CANNOT GET WET OR CORRODED.
I HAVE 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE. SOMETIMES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN IS GONE AFTER FEW HOURS OR DAY. SOME TIMES MESSAGE BLINKING "SERVICE PARK BRAKE SERVICE TRANSMISSION" THEN LIKE SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH SYSTEM DOES NOT SAVE CLOCK TIME OR A/C PUT ME ON HEATH AND AUTO LIGHT DOES NOT STAY ON. SOMETIMES WHEN I START THE CAR AND RELEASE THE PARK BARK BRAKE CAR JUMPS HARD TWO OR THREE TIMES AND AFTER I TURN ENGINE OFF WITHOUT USING PARKING BRAKE AND BACK ON EVERYTHING IS FINE.THE CAR ONLY HAS 55000 MILES. I'M SO AFRAID TO DRIVE CAR BECAUSE DON'T KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPENED
MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE WILL GO INTO NEUTRAL WHILST DRIVING AND THEN TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE SHIFTER, THEN WILL NOT DRIVE SAYS TO SHIFT TO PARK THEN PUT INTO GEAR. I DO THE FOLLOWING AND STILL WON'T TRY. HAVE TRIED SHUTTING IT OFF TURNING IT BACK ON AND NOTHING WORKS.
AUTOMATIC START/STOP SYSTEM DOESN'T ALWAYS ENGAGE. THE TRANSMISSION STAYS IN 3RD GEAR AFTER COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE CAR HAS HIGH REVOLUTIONS AND JERKS UNIT IT DOWN SHIFTS TO 1ST GEAR WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED. CAUSING HESITATION IN ENGINE AND PUTTING ME AND MY FAMILY IN CLOSE CALLS FOR ACCIDENTS.
3-4 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT I GOT A "SERVICE SHIFTER SOON" MESSAGE AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE GEAR SHIFT LIT UP. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALER AND THEY "FIXED" THE PROBLEM UNDER WARRANTY. NOW, OUT OF WARRANTY, THE SAME MESSAGE AND LIGHTING OF THE GEAR SHIFT LIGHTS IS HAPPENING AGAIN. IT USUALLY HAPPENS RIGHT AFTER STARTING BUT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING A COUPLE OF TIMES.
WHILE DRIVING A MESSAGE CAME UP ON THE DASH "SERVICE SHIFTER" WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN. THE PRND LIGHTS ARE ALL RED. I COULD NOT GET THE MESSAGE TO GO AWAY.
WE BOUGHT A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE IN 2016 AND WITHOUT BEING TOLD OF THE ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSIONS ISSUES. WE HAVE HAD OUR JEEP IN THE SHOP FOUR TIMES WITH TRANSMISSIONS ISSUES OF SHIFTING HARD AND NOW GOING INTO NEUTRAL WHEN IN DRIVE AND THE BRAKES GOING HARD AND THE JEEP COMING TO A STOP. THE ANIT SLIDE HAS NOW CAME ON AND THE JEEP SHAKES . THE UPDATES CAME ONE DAY WHEN I WAS GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH AND THE JEEP WENT TO 30 MPH WITH MY GRANDKIDS IN THE CAR AND TWO DISELS ONE BEHIND ME BLOWING THE HORN BECAUSE HE ALMOST HIT ME AND ONE TO THE SIDE OF ME. MY HUSBAND WAS COMING HOME FROM A DR VISIT AGAIN THE JEEP WENT INTO A NEUTRAL STATE WHILE IN THE DRIVE POSITION AND THE JEEP STOPPED AND HE WAS ALMOST HIT THEN THE JEEP JERKED AND WENT INTO GEAR SO HE WENT INTO A SHOPPING CENTER AND HAD TO STOP AND KILL THE JEEP AND RESTART THE JEEP TO MAKE THE JEEP RESTART JUST TO GET IT HOME. IT WENT BACK TO THE SHOP THAT NIGHT! WE HAVE HAD THE JEEP IN THE SHOP FOR HARD SHIFTING WHEN TAKING OFF AND NOW IT IS HARD SHIFTING WHEN TAKING OFF AND DOWN SHIFTING, ANTI SLIDE RANDOMLY COMES ON, BRAKES ARE NOT PROPERLY STOPPING THE CAR. GO TO THE DEALER WHERE WE BOUGHT IT AND THEY ONLY OFFERED $7500 FOR IT WHEN WE OWE $15, 000 AND THIS IS SO RIDICULOUS. CALLED JEEP AND AWAITING A CALL, THEY STATED THEY HAVE TO CALL THE DEALER. IN THE MEAN TIME I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE OURS IS TO UNSAFE TO DRIVE! THE JEEP IS STICKING IN GEAR AND THE TAC METER IS STAYING ON 3 OR 4. THEN WHEN YOU TURN THE JEEP OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON IT MAY OR MAY NOT WORK. WE HAVE BACKED IT OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY AND PUT INTO DRIVE AND IT SHIFTS SO HARD INTO FIRST AND SECOND GEAR. NOW SINCE THE LAST TIME WE PICKED IT UP FROM THE SHOP THE JEEP HAS NOW STARTED LOOSING POWER WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO DRIVE. WE HAVE PARKED THE JEEP AND DECIDED IT ISN'T SAFE!
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH THE ENGINE ABRUPTLY SHUT OFF. THE DASHBOARD READ "SHIFT TO P THEN DESIRED GEAR". THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHEN COMING TO A STOP. ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE ENGINE CAUSES THE STARTER TO RUN FOR ABOUT 45 SECONDS AND THEN THE ENGINE WILL SLOWLY SPUTTER TO LIFE. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND THERE ARE A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SPANNING BACK OVER 4 YEARS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE BETWEEN 60 AND 80 PMH AND OUT OF NOWHERE THE SERVICE SHIFTER POPPED UP ON THE DASHBOARD SCREEN AND THEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE SHIFTER LIT UP RED ( LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE) AND I LOSE COMPLETE FUNCTION OF THE SHIFTER ALL TOGETHER. THIS HAS HAPPENED 8 TIMES IN THE 15 MONTHS I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE.
THE VEHICLE (2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED) SELF ACCELERATED WHILE IN A PARKING LOT AND NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. IN ADDITION, AT TIMES THE VEHICLE HAS A PROBLEM SHIFTING WHEN ACCELERATING (SLUGGISH/HESITANT) AROUND 30-40 MPH AND THEN ABRUPTLY DROPS INTO GEAR, JARRING THE VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION. AT TIMES, WHILE ACCELERATING, THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO DELAY AND THEN ABRUPTLY DROPS INTO GEAR. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS JEEP AFTER THE THE SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. WE HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE INTO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION MULTIPLE TIMES TO CHECK THE SLUGGISH/HESITANT/HARD GEAR SHIFTING AND ALL THAT I AM TOLD IS THAT THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I SHARED WITH THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS ISSUE ONLY HAPPENS FROM TIME TO TIME AND IT IS UNLIKELY A MECHANIC DRIVING THE CAR FOR 10-15 MINS WILL BE LUCKILY ENOUGH TO EXPERIENCE THIS ODDITY, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. SO BASICALLY I AM BEING TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, AS FAR AS THEY CAN TELL. THEY DID UPDATE THE SHAREWARE, BUT THE ISSUE CONTINUES AND WITH THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION, THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY IS MY MAIN CONCERN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED GEARS IMPROPERLY. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHILE DRIVING AND EXPERIENCED HARD SHIFTING INTO GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LEWIS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (3311 N COLLEGE AVE, FAYETTEVILLE, AR 72703, (833) 551-7843) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 36,000.
THE SERVICE SHIFTER NOTIFICATION HAS COME IN MULTIPLE TIMES. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TO BE FIXED TWICE. IT HAS SINCE COME ON AGAIN. IT SOMETIMES COMES ON WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED, OTHER TIMES IT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING.
APRIL, 2019: EVERY THING ON THE DASH LIT UP. CAR STARTED TO ROLL AND WE HAD TO JUMP OUT OF THE CAR TO STOP IT. IT WOULDN'T GO INTO PARK, BUT PARKING BRAKE WORKED FOR A WHILE. CAR WOULDN'T TURN OFF, LOCKS WOULDN'T WORK. NOTHING WORKED. TOWED TO DEALER WITH JEEP ON THE WHOLE WAY. A 18 MONTH OLD CHILD WAS WITH US. DANGEROUS. REPAIR DID A TCM FIX AND SAID THIS WAS A CATASTROPHIC EVENT THAT WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. OCTOBER 2, 2019. PUSHED THE START BUTTON ' CAR STARTED BUT COULDN'T PUSH DOWN ON BRAKE. COULDN'T MOVE OUT OF PARK. WOULD TURN IT OFF AND IT WOULD TURN RIGHT BACK ON. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER - HAVE NOT HEARD BACK. IN ADDITION HAVE HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES FOR LAST TWO YEARS. CAR LURCHES WHEN GOING AROUND 30 MPH, STALLS A BIT WHEN JUST STARTING OUT DRIVING FROM A STOPPED POSITION
OCT. 2019: BLARING RADIO, U-CONNECT SYSTEM FAILURE (BATTERY REPLACED)-GARAGE AT HOME AND LOCAL SUBURBAN AREA DEC. 2019: RADIO VOLUME CONTROL DIDN'T WORK, MUTE BUTTON DIDN'T WORK, MUTE BUTTON UNMUTED ITSELF (TWICE IN A 5-7 MINUTE PERIOD), VOLUME ADJUSTING UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN-HAPPENED 8:10 AM JAN. 2020: AUDIO STUCK ON RELIGIOUS STATION, BUT INFO SCREEN BLANK-BLACK (9:45 AM AND 10:10 AM. HAPPENED AFTER I STOPPED TO GET GAS AT A SUBURBAN LOCATION) MARCH 2020: RADIO UNMUTED ITSELF MULTIPLE TIMES ON ITS OWN AND WHEN I PRESSED THE MUTE BUTTON-IT DIDN'T WORK (SUBURBS) MARCH 2020: AM-UNABLE TO ADJUST VOLUME-STUCK FOLLOWED BY BLARING VOLUME AFTER I HAD TURNED THE VOLUME BUTTON DOWN. LATER-SAME DAY-RADIO STATION CHANGED TO A RELIGIOUS STATION (NOT THE STATION I HAD ON PREVIOUSLY) AIR PRESSURE LIGHT GOES ON CONSTANTLY START AND STOP SYSTEM MESSAGE GOES ON AND OFF CONSTANTLY THIS JEEP HAS JUST OVER 36,000 MILES. RADIO INCIDENCES HAVE OCCURRED BOTH WHILE SITTING STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING.
VEHICLE HAS A MIND OF IT'S OWN WHEN IN GEAR. WHEN TRYING BACK OUT OF PLACES IT JERKS UNCONTROLLABLY. ITS ALSO DOES THIS WHEN WAITING IDLE AT A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT. IT WILL JERK FORWARD AS SOON AS YOU LET OFF THE BRAKE AND OTHER TIMES IT WON'T GO AT ALL WHEN ACCELERATING. 3 TIMES NOW IT HAS JUST COMPLETELY SHUT ITSELF OFF WHEN I'M GEAR FOR NO APPARENT REASONS AT ALL. I TRY NOW NOT TO DRIVE IT ALL BECAUSE IT'S NOT SAFE. I'VE KEPT IT UP TO DATE ON ALL THE COMPUTER UPDATES THROUGH A CERTIFIED JEEP DEALERSHIP INCLUDING ALL THE OIL CHANGES AND REQUIRED MAINTENANCE. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT HAS TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION BUT CAN OFFER NO TRUE FIX THROUGH JEEP.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at speeds of 20 to 35 MPH, the vehicle would jolt when changing from 2nd to 3rd gear. Also, when the failure occurred the vehicle would not properly accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also indicated that while in park, with or without the parking brake set, the vehicle rolled away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V529000 (Power Train). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 83,000.
PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WHEEL LOCKED UP AND HAD TO HAVE A NEW WHEEL BEARING WAS NOT TRAVELING AT THE SAME SPEED AS THE OTHER WHEELS WAS STRANDED AND HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED FROM ST. LOUIS INTO SPRINGFIELD ILLINOIS DID THEY MAKE YOU PAY FOR THE TOW JEEP DID NOT REFUND
SERVICE SHIFTER MESSAGE APPEARS ON DASHBOARD. TOOK CAR TO JEEP DEALER FOR SERVICE. ADVISES THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON THIS ISSUE BUT NO RECALL YET. TSB 08-054-18 REV A ISSUED SEPT 2018. REMEDY IS TO REPLACE THE SHIFTER BEZEL DISPLAY AND SHIFTER WIRING HARNESS. DEALER ADVISED THAT THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE 5 YEAR POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. THEY SAID THE SHIFTER IS NOT PART OF THE POWERTRAIN ? MY CAR IS 4 YEARS OLD AND THE BUMPER TO BUMPER ENDED AT 3 YEARS. THEY EXPECT ME TO PAY FOR THESE REPAIRS MYSELF. CAR ONLY HAS 39,000 MILES ON IT. HOW CAN THIS NOT BE PART OF THE POWERTRAIN ? IT CONTROLS THE TRANSMISSION. REPAIR COST APPROX $530.00 DEALER STILL HAS MY CAR. THEY ADVISE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER AND IT WOULD BE 3 WEEKS BEFORE THEY CAME IN. THEY ADVISE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND I WOULD NEED TO RENT A CAR. FOR 3 WEEKS+. THIS WOULD COST ME SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS. I HAVE READ THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH JEEP CHEROKEES FROM 2014 TO 2018 WITH THE 9 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. MANY PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY FILED COMPLAINTS WITH NTSB AND ARE WANTING A RECALL ISSUED. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS AND ISSUE RECALL. ALSO PLEASE INVESTIGATE HOW FCA (FIAT CHRYSLER) CAN CLASSIFY THE SHIFTER AS NOT BEING PART OF THE POWERTRAIN. THAT IS A REAL STRETCH SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THE WORK ON CARS OVER 3 YEARS OLD. FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS, MY JEEP JUMPS AHEAD AT RED LIGHT OR WHEN YOU PUT IT IN DRIVE. ITS LIKE SOMEONE ELSE IS STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. SOMETIMES IT DELAYS TO LAUNCH, WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS IT TAKES 10 OR 15 SECONDS. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE COMPUTER DISENGAGES THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENGINE WILL ONLY IDLE IN DRIVE, CARS FOLLOWING G ARE FORCED TO DRIVE AROUND THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD BY JEEP TODAY, MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT IN THE VIN ASSOCIATED MASS RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND I HAVE FOUND, HUNDREDS OF THE SAME ISSUES ON 2014 AND 2015 9 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS. CALLED JEEP AND WAS ADVISED TO GET IT INTO SERVICE IMMEDIATELY DUE TO KNOWN ISSUES, BUT THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO MAKE A COMPLAINT. JEEP HAS BEEN TRYING TO STALL OUT WHILE DRIVING, AT STOPS, HARD SHIFTS, BRAKE COMES ON AUTOMATICALLY, COMPLETELY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING, AND OIL HAS SOMEHOW DISAPPEARED FROM IT, BUT NO LEAKS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V826000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STRUCTURE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,118.
Since very beginning, this vehicle has issue with shifting gears. In the middle of the road, it abruptly shifts the gears with scary noise and whole car vibrates like someone crashes you. I was in the dealer twice for this problem and there was a recall as well. But it didn't fix the issue.

IF THE VEHICLE COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP IT SEEMS OK. THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO RESET TO 1ST GEAR APPROPRIATELY. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE PLUS THE SLAMMING INTO GEAR CANNOT BE GOOD FOR THE TRANSMISSION. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS REPEATEDLY AND CONSISTENTLY DURING THE ABOVE DESCRIBED CONDITION. I HAVE CONTACTED FCA AND SO FAR I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THEIR RESPONSE. A VEHICLE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE A CEL ON OR A COMPLETELY DAMAGED TRANSMISSION FOR THEM TO ACT APPROPRIATELY TO REPAIR AN OBVIOUS PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY, I RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE SAYING SERVICE SHIFTER AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE GEAR SHIFT TURNED RED. I PULLED OVER, PARKED THE CAR, AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE MESSAGE AND THE LIGHTS HAD CLEARED AND WERE OFF. HOWEVER, AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. AFFECTING JEEPS YEARS 2015 AND BEYOND. MANY OTHER OWNERS STATED THAT WE SHOULD ALL REPORT THIS ISSUE TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE, SINCE MANY STATED THAT EVEN AFTER GETTING IT FIXED, IT REMAINS TO BE A PROBLEM. FIRST THE JEEP COULD NOT MOVE WHEN WE TURN ON THE ENGINE IS ON, WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY FIXED THAT PROBLEM SAYING IT NEEDED A BATTERY. WE LET THEM PUT THE BATTERY IN AND TOOK IT HOME, NEXT WE GET IN THE CAR TO GO SOMEWHERE, TURN ON THE IGNITION, AND A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD SAYING LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT OUT WE CHECKED THE LIGHTS ON THE JEEP AND THEY DID NOT COME ON, THE HIGH BEAM OR THE LOW BEAM. THIS SOUNDS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM TO ME AND THAT IS WHY I THINK IT SHOULD BE A RECALLED VEHICLES, ALSO, THIS CAR IS LIKE NEW BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT MUCH BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS WE HAVE HAD FROM IT. AS I AM DRIVING MY CAR STAHL'S AND EVERYTHING SHUTS OFF. THIS TYPICALLY HAPPENS AS I AM MAKING A TURN. THIS TYPICALLY HAPPENS AS I GET CLOSER TO THE DATE OF MY NEXT OIL CHANGE. WE SPOKE WITH THE DEALER AND MFG.ABOUT REPLACING THE WIRING HARNESS, SINCE THE RECALL INDICATED THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE PROBLEM DUE TO BAD CRIMPING. TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THEY INDICATED THAT THEY CHECKED THE WIRING HARNESS AND FOUND NO PROBLEM. IT APPEARS THE DEALER AND MFG.NOT WILLING TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF PROBLEM, LEAVING THE CONSUMER (MY DAUGHTER) WITH A CONTINUING INTERMITTENT ISSUE AND THE COST OF RESOLVING IT...(VERY DISAPPOINTED!) ALSO, THE VEHICLE STILL HAS THE TROUBLE CODE THAT THEY CAN'T CLEAR (CODE= P1DB7) NOTE THAT THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 100,000 MI WHEN THIS ISSUE WAS BOUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION, BUT MFG. ON JUNE 24, 2019 MY 2015 JEEP TRAILHAWK LOST POWER WAS AFTER IT WAS DRIVEN FOR 30 MINS AND PARKED FOR 30 MINS IN THE MORNING. THE BATTERY AND TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHTS WERE ON. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT REMAINED ON. I WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE 'CODES' CLEARED. I DID AND THE LIGHT WAS GONE. ON AUGUST 5, 2019 THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT WAS ON AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED ON AUGUST 27, 2019. ON AUGUST 4, 2019, I WAS DRIVING UP A DIRT MOUNTAIN ROAD, 4WHEEL LOW, AND I LOST POWER AND THE RPM WERE OVER 4.5 AT LESS THAN 10 MILES PER HOUR. WE TURNED AROUND AND GOT TO A SAFE LOCATION TO PARK THE CAR. THE NEXT DAY, THE CAR WAS OPERATIONAL. ON AUGUST 22, 2019, I WAS MOVING SLOWLY IN TRAFFIC AND AS THE TRAFFIC BECAME LIGHTER AND I WENT TO INCREASE MY SPEED, I LOST POWER AGAIN. RPM WERE ABOVE 4.5 AT 20 MILES, I DID NOT HAVE THE VEHICLE 4 WHEEL LOW. I WAS ADJACENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOOK IT DIRECTLY THERE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE, AUGUST 23, 2017, THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE JERKS WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND IT STARTS UP AGAIN. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN THE VEHICLE. I AM SCARED THAT I WILL LOSE POWER IN A REMOTE LOCATION OR IN TRAFFIC AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

SECOND TIME WHILE TURNING LEFT AT A TWO WAY INTERSECTION...CAR STOPPED MIDWAY INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, THIRD TIME WAS ALSO TURNING LEFT (COINCIDENTAL) AFTER CROSSING OVER INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND SAFELY REACHED THE STREET I WAS TURNING INTO, BUT VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN COMPLETELY IN TRANSIT TO SAID STREET AND COULD NOT ACCELERATE ANYMORE...WAS GOING AT A BASE SPEED OF MAYBE 3-5 MPH. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP FIRST TIME AND THEY SAID IT WAS A SYSTEM UPDATE ISSUE. IT WAS NOT BECAUSE ISSUE OCCURED AGAIN. CAR IS IN SHOP AGAIN NOW AND THEY SAID HAVE TO REPLACE PRNDL SWITCH. NOT SURE WHAT THAT IS. I SAW A RECALL DONE FOR A VERY SIMILAR ISSUE ON THE 2014-2015 JEEP CHEROKEE, RECALL CODE IS CHRYSLER S55. BUT DEALER SAID MY CAR IS NOT A PART OF THAT RECALL. ONCE YOU STOP AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON A COUPLE OF TIMES THE ERROR MESSAGES WILL GO AWAY AND JEEP WILL DRIVE NORMALLY. TWO DAYS AGO JEEP HAD BEEN DRIVING NORMAL. I STOPPED TO GET GAS. AFTER FILLING MY TANK I RETURNED TO THE CAR TO START IT AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER INSERTING AND TURNING THE KEY I WOULD NOT GET A CLICK OR NOTHING. I ALSO HAD NO LIGHTS, NOT ON THE DASH OR OUT SIDE OF THE CAR. AFTER TRYING TO JUMP START THE CAR UNSUCCESSFULLY I ENDED UP HAVING THE CAR TOWED HOME. ONCE HOME THE BATTERY WAS REMOVED AND TAKEN TO BE TESTED. I WAS TOLD THE BATTERY WAS BAD SO I REPLACED THE BATTERY AND JEEP STARTED UP FINE HOWEVER AFTER STARTING I RECEIVED THE ERROR MESSAGE SERVICE PARK BREAK AND JEEP AGAIN WOULD SHIFT REALLY HARD. ERROR MESSAGE WENT AWAY JEEP STARTED RO DRIVE FINE. DROVE TO THE DOCTOR AND WHEN I PULLED INTO PARKING SPACE JEEP GOT STUCK IN NEUTRAL. FINALLY GOT THE JEEP TO GO INTO GEAR AND WENT TO DRIVE BACK HOME AND JEEP WOULD NOT SHIFT RIGHT AND AGAIN JUMPED INTO NEUTRAL WHERE IT GOT STUCK. FINALLY GOT HOME AND PARKED JEEP WAITING TO GET IT INTO THE DEALER NOW. JEEP HAS 95000 MILES ON IT.
