TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS-ROUGH SHIFTS, STICKS IN GEAR, WARNING LIGHTS "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" 4WD NOT AVAILABLE, SERVICE PARKING BRAKE ALL COME ON. DEALER HAS UPDATED SOFTWARE AND IT STILL IS NOT FIXED
POWER TRAIN/ENGINE RECALL. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO LET THEM KNOW MY VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKES AND IT DOES THIS ALL THE TIME. THEY SAID IT WAS SOME MODULE THAT NEEDED TO BE ADJUSTED OR UPDATED AND THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED AND IT JUST THE OTHER NIGHT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD I APPLIED MY BRAKES BECAUSE A CAR PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND THE JEEP LUNGED FORWARD THEN SLOWED DOWN. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE AMONGST OTHERS WITH JEEP CHEROKEES BECAUSE I HAVE ASKED MY NEIGHBOR AND OTHERS IVE MET WITH JEEP CHEROKEE'S AND THEY HAVE ALL MENTIONED THIS HAPPENS TO THEM AS WELL. IT IS IN THE JEEP FORUMS, WHY IS THIS ISSUE NOT FIXED, TO BE HONEST I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE. I'M IN THE MILITARY AND HAVE TO DRIVE OVER 60 MILES PER DAY TO AND FROM WORK AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. IT HAPPENS PRETTY MUCH EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE.
"SHIFTER NEED SERVICE" WARNING MESSAGE. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN WIDELY NOTED ON GOOGLE AS A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, ALL POSITION LIGHTS ON SHIFTER COMES ON. SOMETIMES VEHICLE WILL STALL. USUALLY WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, THERE IS NO MORE PROBLEM. IT WILL RECUR AT IRREGULAR INTERVALS. MY DEALER DOESN'T SEEM TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, BUT SOME APPARENTLY REPLACE SHIFTERS AND/OR ITS WIRING AND WIRING HARNESSES, AND PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. IT HAS LED TO MY VEHICLE JUST TURNING OFF OR SHUTTING DOWN AT DANGEROUS TIMES SUCH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WITH DIFFICULT RESTART. THIS USUALLY OCCURS WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, SOMETIMES WHILE OR AFTER MAKING A TURN. VAN BE ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS OT WORSE THE HIGHWAY WITH NO WARNING OTHER THAN THE MESSAGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE HAD DIFFICULTY SHIFTING INTO THE NEXT GEAR AND THE RPMS SUDDENLY INCREASED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE TENDED TO OVERHEAT AND THE COOLANT BURNED OFF ALTHOUGH THERE WERE NO VISIBLE LEAKS. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE OVERHEATING INDICATOR NOTIFIED THE DRIVER TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB MOORE CHRYSLER RAM DODGE JEEP (4627 S MEMORIAL DR, TULSA, OK 74145, 918-663-6343), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
GEAR SHIFTER ERROR AND NOW CANNOT PUT CAR INTO GEAR CAR GETS STUCK IN NEUTRAL FOR ABOUT 5-10 BEFOR I CAN SWITCH TO OTHER GEAR BATTERY AND TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHTS WERE ON. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY THE VEHICLE JERKS WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND IT STARTS UP AGAIN. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN THE VEHICLE. I AM SCARED THAT I WILL LOSE POWER IN A REMOTE LOCATION OR IN TRAFFIC AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
THE VEHICLE LUNGES FORWARD WHEN COMING TO A STOP ON A DOWNHILL SITUATION. IT BECOMES DIFFICULT NOT TO HIT STOPPED VEHICLES AT THE BOTTOM OF A HILL AT RED LIGHTS. THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT ALWAYS DISENGAGE WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES, I HAVE HAD TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION SEVERAL TIMES. CONTACTED DEALER, MAD APPOINTMENT FOR A SCAN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER, DECELERATED, AND THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND ACCELERATED MULTIPLE TIMES. AFTER A WHILE, THE TRANSMISSION REMAINED STUCK IN DRIVE AND THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, "SERVICE TRANSMISSION", "SERVICE ABS", AND "SERVICE SHIFTER" WERE DISPLAYED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO GULF COAST CHRYSLER JEEP (3781 S MCKENZIE ST, FOLEY, AL 36535, (251) 943-5075) WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
MY CAR HAS BEEN "JUMPY". AS I AM IDLING AT A STOPLIGHT OR STREET SIGN, THE CAR WILL LUNGE FORWARD TO WHERE IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE I AM BEING HIT FROM BEHIND. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT BEEN ON SO I DID NOT THINK MUCH OF IT. I WAS DRIVING YESTERDAY, ALL OF A SUDDEN 'SERVICE TRANSMISSION' FLASHED ON MY SCREEN AS I WAS MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY. I WAS GOING ABOUT 50 MPH AND IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AS I WAS PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. I IMMEDIATELY EXITED. AS I WAS EXITING, I WAS SLOWING DOWN AND THERE WAS A CAR IN FRONT OF ME BUT MY CAR STILL LUNGED FORWARD. I PULLED OVER. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND TURNED THE CAR ON, AS I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE, THE CAR JUMPED FORWARD AS I WAS STILL HOLDING THE BREAKS.SERIOUSLY LUCKY TO NOT HAVE HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME.. I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG, I DROVE HOME AND PARKED IT AND IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO BE SERVICED THIS MORNING AT A DEALERSHIP. THEY CALLED AND SAID THAT THEIR DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER WAS UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE TRANSMISSION TO DETECT THE PROBLEM BUT THE TECH ASSERTED THAT IT IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THAT THEY WILL BE HAVING TO RUN MORE DIAGNOSTIC AND LIKELY REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION.
I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AND STEPPED ON BRAKES BECAUSE CARS WERE SLOWING DOWN WHEN I BEGAN TO BRAKE THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. MESSAGE SAID SHIFT TO PARK AND START ENGINE. CARS WERE HONKING. I DID WHAT IT READ AND IT TOOK SECONDS BUT TURNED BACK ON. IT TOOK SOME EXPLAINING TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER MY PERSONAL RESEARCH IN WAITING ROOM FOR 4 HOURS. THEY FOUND THE CODES?? IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT MORE SERIOUSLY ON A TOAD WITH TRAFFIC MOVING I STEPPED ON BRAKES TO MAKE A LEFT TURN BUT IT TURNED OFF! CARS SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES. I DID WHAT MESSAGE SAID IT TOOK LONGER THIS TIME. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND IT TURNED OFF AGAIN WHEN I STEPPED ON BRAKES TO PARK. I CAN'T GET A DEALERSHIP TO HELP ME?? TOMORROW I'M GOING BACK TO THE ORIGINAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT FOUND THE CODES IN JANUARY. THIS IS SCARY.
MY AUTOMATIC REAR HATCH STOPPED WORKING AFTER A SMALL AMOUNT OF WATER FROM A COOLER LEAKED IN MY "TRUNK". I CHECKED THE FUSE FOR THE HATCH AND IT BLEW, I SWAPPED IT OUT AND SMOKE BEGAN TO POUR FROM THE REAR OF MY JEEP (THE TRUNK) THEN A FIRE ERUPTED, SEVERELY DAMAGING MY CHEROKEE. THE JEEP WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND DUE TO THE FIRE BEING NEAR THE GAS TANK I HAD TO DRIVE IT TO THE STREET OUT OF FEAR IT WOULD HURT MY FAMILY. THERE IS A RECALL RE: THE HATCH MOTOR MODULE GETTING WET AND CAUSING A FIRE WHICH I HAD PERFORMED IN 2016. THIS PART IS FAULTY AND ALMOST HARMED ME/FAMILY AND NOW I AM OUT MY DEDUCTIBLE AND CAR RENTAL COSTS. NO ONE FROM CHRYSLER OR JEEP WILL CALL ME BACK.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFTIER FAILED TO SHIFT WHILE THE SERVICE SHIFTIER AND TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN MULTIPLE TIMES TO PERFORMANCE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM GEORGESVILLE, 1130 AUTO MALL DR, COLUMBUS, OH 43228, AND THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. PREVIOUSLY, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PERFORMANCE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM GEORGESVILLE, 1130 AUTO MALL DR, COLUMBUS, OH 43228, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRDM BASIL IN HARNESS AND THE SHIFTIER HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
Service shifter light is on all the time. Not sure why or what is happening. There is a notification on the dash that just says "service shifter' and all the lights are red by the gear shifter.
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, A 'SERVICE TRANSMISSION' MESSAGE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP ON THE DASHBOARD. AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY AND MAKING A TURN, THE VEHICLE WAS LOSING POWER AND BEGAN TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED THAT SEEMED TO FIX THE ISSUE. A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER, WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY THE 'SERVICE TRANSMISSION' MESSAGE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN; THE VEHICLE BEGAN LOSING POWER AGAIN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO A DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY AND SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE CONTINUES TO LACK POWER.
ON THE GEAR SHIFT ALL LIGHTS ARE ON AND A WARNING COMES UP ON PANEL SAYING GEAR SHIFT NEEDS SERVICING. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY DIDN'T NO WHAT IT WAS OR HOW TO FIX. IT WENT OFF WHEN I CUT CAR OFF AND BACK ON BUT NOW IT'S COMING ON ALL THE TIME. IT SCARES ME AND I CAN'T KEEP TAKING TO A DEALER TO CHARGE ME AND IT'S NOT FIXED.PLEASE GET JEEP TO DO A RECALL AND FIX THIS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN IT'S DRIVING
TODAY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" SHOWED UP ON SCREEN. WE STOPPED, TURNED VEHICLE OFF. IT CLEARED WHEN WE RESTARTED BUT REAPPEARED AGAIN. THEN IT WOULD HARDLY ACCELERATE. ONLY 37,000 MILES.
CAR WENT INTO ' LIMP' MODE. TRACTION CONTROL WENT OFF, MESSAGE, 4-WHEEL DRIVE IS NOT AVAILABLE. MY CAR LOST POWER AND I HAFT TO USE MANUAL MODE TO SHIFT. DEALER STATED , THAT EVEN THOUGH I GAVE THEM THE TROUBLE CODES, THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. SERVICE SHIFTER, LIGHT CAME ON BUT WHEN I RESTART IT GOES AWAY
ON 7/19/19 - ONCE CAR PLACED INTO GEAR, IT BARELY MOVED 5 MPH. LOUD NOISE DURING SHIFT OF GEAR. SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON. PLACED CAR IN PARK AND HAD TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER SAID.. THE BATTER WAS LOW. HOWEVER, THE BATTERY WAS LAST REPLACED 7/13/18 (1 YEAR AGO). I HAVEN'T PICKED THE CAR UP YET AS I'M CONCERNED THIS ISN'T THE REAL ISSUE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A 19 MILLIMETER SOCKET WAS USED ON A NORMAL LUG NUT, BUT IT DID NOT GRASP IT PROPERLY. THE NEXT SIZE UP WAS TOO BIG DUE TO THE DUST ON THE LUG NUTS. THE CONTACT CALLED HILLVIEW MOTORS (LOCATED AT 5309 US-30 E, GREENSBURG, PA 15601, (724) 858-4809) AND NOTIFIED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE AND WAS TURNED OFF. I WAS PLACING LAUNDRY IN THE WASHER RIGHT BY THE GARAGE. ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE VEHICLE STARTED. I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN IT HAD STARTED IF THE ENGINE HAD NOT BEEN RACING AND I WAS ONLY SEPARATED FROM IT BY THE LAUNDRY ROOM TO GARAGE DOOR. I SUSPECT THE ENGINE STARTED WHEN SOMETHING IN MY POCKET PRESSED ON THE KEY FOB. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. IT APPEARS THAT THE KEY FOB ISN'T DESIGNED CORRECTLY, THE KEY ON THE KEY FOB THAT WILL START THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE DEPRESSED SO ITEMS IN ONES POCKETS CAN'T PRESS THE KEY THAT'S USED TO START THE ENGINE. THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED EITHER THROUGH DISABLING THE REMOTE START OR PROVIDING A KEY FOB THAT WON'T ALLOW THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY TURNED OFF IN MY GARAGE WHEN IT STARTED.
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED A 'SERVICE SHIFTER' MESSAGE APPEARS IN THE MESSAGE CENTER AND ALL THE INDICATOR LIGHTS FOR DRIVE PARK REVERSE NEUTRAL LIGHT UP. I HAVE TAKEN THIS PROBLEM TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR AND IT WAS COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY BUT SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIR THE PROBLEM RESURFACED AGAIN, YOU CAN TURN OFF THE CAR AND WHEN YOU RE-STARTED THE ERROR MESSAGE GOES AWAY. BUT THEN IT REAPPEARS AT RANDOM WITH NO RHYME OR REASON.
I WAS JUST DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON, AND A MESSAGE POPS UP ON MY DASH THAT SAYS, "SERVICE TRANSMITION." THEN I COULDN'T ACCELERATE AT ALL, EVEN IF I PUSHED DOWN ALL THE WAY ON THE GAS. MY CAR IS LITERALLY AT 60,600 MILES RIGHT NOW, SO OF COURSE THAT JEEPS WARRANTY FOR POWER TRAIN WOULD STOP RIGHT AT THE 60,000 MILE MARK. THIS IS ALSO THE 4TH ISSUE I HAVE HAD WITH THIS JEEP IN 2 YEARS. MOSTLY BEEN ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. ALSO NOTICED THAT THE PERSON THAT REPORTED AN ISSUE RIGHT BEFORE ME IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS, AND WE ARE BOTH LOCATED IN COLORADO. SOMETHING SEEMS REALLY SKETCHY ON JEEPS END AND I SHOULDN'T KEEP HAVING TO PAY FOR JEEPS ISSUES. JEEP NEEDS TO BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS ISSUE AS IT WILL LEAD TO A LAWSUIT.
IN DRIVE, WHEN I STOP AS IT IS STOPPED WITH BRAKE DEPRESSED AS IT IDLES IT SHIFTS (I'M ASSUMING DOWN SHIFTING) VERY HARD. WHEN IT DOES THAT THE MESSAGE "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" IS SHOWN ON THE CONTROL DISPLAY AND THEN TURNS THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON. IT STAYS ON FOR AN UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME EVEN WHEN I SHUT THE JEEP OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. BUT RANDOMLY THEN AFTER I TURN THE JEEP OFF, WHEN I TURN IT BACK ON THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS OFF. THAT THEN SINCE THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT DOES GO OFF, CAN NOT GET A DIAGNOSTIC DOWN. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE NEAR PAST AND THEN IT DID AGAIN TODAY, JULY 12, 2019.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE WILL DEFAULT TO LIMP MODE DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE REACHES 181 DEGREES. WHILE DRIVING, I OBSERVED THE TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE EACH TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITH THE WORDS "SERVICE TRANSMISSION", THE ENGINE REDUCES SPEED AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THIS FORCES ME TO PULL OVER AND LET THE TRANSMISSION COOL DOWN. ONCE COOLED DOWN, THE JEEP WILL OPERATE NORMALLY UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE REACHES 181 DEGREES AGAIN. THE CYCLE REPEATS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN FOR LONGER PERIODS OF TIME. (1 TO 2 HOURS) IT HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MORE OFTEN THAN IN TOWN.
WHEN I START THE VEHICLE IT REVS HIGH AND WHEN I TAKE OFF IT JUMPS/HESITATES. AS I AM DRIVING, THE WARNING BELL WILL "DING" A WARNING AND THE ENGINE JUST CUTS OFF. MESSAGE ON DASH TELLS ME I AM UNABLE TO SHIFT AND MUST PUT CAR IN PARK TO SHIFT. I AM UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OR TURN MY STEERING WHEEL AND AT A COMPLETE STOP. ALSO AS I MAKE A TURN AT A STOP LIGHT, THE WARNING "DING" WILL HAPPEN AND NO MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED ON DASH. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE OCCURRED WHILE THE CAR IS "IN MOTION"! NOT STOPPED!
WHEN SLOWING TO ALMOST A STOP BUT NOT FULLY STOPPING, VEHICLE DOES NOT SELECT A GEAR IMMEDIATELY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ENGAGE A GEAR FOR SEVERAL SECONDS WHIC RESULTS IN BEING UNABLE TO ACCELERATE ALL. WHEN THE VEHICLE DOES ENGAGE A GEAR, THERE IS A SUDDEN JOLT IF THE ACCELERATOR IS STILL PRESSED. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE WHEN THE GEAR IS NOT ENGAGED YOU CANNOT ACCELERATE THE CAR AT ALL UNTIL IT FINALLY ENGAGES.
SERVICE SHIFTER ERROR WHEN DRIVING ON THE DASHBOARD WILL BLOCK COMPLETELY ON THE HIGHWAY.
AT 28,000 MILES MY JEEP CHEROKEE HAD THE SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT COME ON PERIODICALLY AND IT WOULD JUST DISAPPEAR WHEN THE CAR WAS RESTARTED. NO ONE WAS ABLE TO RESEARCH THE ERROR BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT REMAIN ON AND THERE WAS NO DOCUMENTATION IN THE MANUAL ON HOW TO RESOLVE. AT 40,000 MILES THE ERROR BECAME MORE FREQUENT AND AT 42000 MILES IT BECAME CONSTANT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND THEY SAID IT WAS A SHIFTER COMPONENT AND THEY WERE ORDERING A BEZEL TO INSTALL AT A VERY EXPENSIVE COST. EVERY JEEP FORUM SHOWS THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE AND I THINK IT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.

THE MANUFACTURER LATER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO USER ERROR. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT STATE IF THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY WOULD COVER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.

ON ROUTE 80 VEHICLE DWNSHIFTED, POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AFFECTED. MILEAGE 9604 JULY 2, 2019. VEHICLE TOWED. AUGUST 30, 3019 IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT WAS LESS THAN 1 MILE AWAY, DROVE IT THERE PICKED UP VEHICLE ON 9-11-2019. MILEAGE 9817. DROVE IT 30 MILES AND CAME HOME. 7 HOURS LATER., SAME ISSUE AND WAS ONLY 2 BLOCKS FROM MY HOUSE. VEHICLE TOWED AGAIN STATING SERVICE ANTI LOCK BRAKES SERVICE TRANSMISSION, CHANGE OIL, SERVICE PARKING BRAKE, 4WD UNAVAILABLE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, ANTI SKID LIGHT ON WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. STEERING, TRANSMISSION AND BRAKES AFFECTED. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE. SAME ISSUE IN ALL 3 INSTANCES, SO THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT CORRECTING THE PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD AT LEAST HAVE RECALLS ON THESE VEHICLES. SERVICE RECORDS ARE ATTACHED.
MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE OR DRIVING THE RED LIGHTS ON THE SHIFTER WILL ALL TURN ON AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WITH DISPLAY A SERVICE SHIFTER SCREEN. SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON FOR THE TRANSMISSION. CAN ONLY BE RESET BY TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, FOUR WHEEL DRIVE DOES NOT WORK, THE VEHICLE SHIFTS IMPROPERLY AND LUNGES AT LOWER SPEEDS AND THE GAUGE CLUSTER ON THE DASH WILL ONLY SHOW 'SERVICE SHIFTER' TENDERING IT USELESS. THE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING OR STOPPED AND AT VARIOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR MONTHS AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED POWER TRAIN WARRANTY.
LIFTGATE OPERATES INTERMITTENTLY. IT WILL GET TO THE POINT IF IT OPENS THEN IT WILL NOT CLOSE AND LATCH. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN PARK DIDN'T MATTER IF THE ENGINE WAS ON OR OFF.
WHEN TEMPERATURES REACH BELOW FREEZING OR ABOVE 80 DEGREES, MY CAR WILL SEND AN ERROR MESSAGE WHEN I PLACE THE CAR IN REVERSE. THE ERROR MESSAGE READS, 'SERVICE SHIFTER'. WHEN THE CAR IS THEN PLACED IN PARK AND TURNED OFF AND BACK ON, THE ERROR MESSAGE WILL LEAVE THE SCREEN. ALSO, THREE MONTHS AGO, MY CAR WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING. AFTER LOOKING INTO THE ISSUE I FOUND THAT THE OIL HAD BEEN COMPLETELY DRAINED AFTER AN OIL CHANGE WAS ISSUED IN THE PREVIOUS MONTH. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF LEAKS. AFTER FILLING THE CAR BACK UP WITH OIL THE ISSUE DID NOT OCCUR AGAIN. THIS MAY BE RELATED TO THE FIRST ISSUE.
ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED, ALSO THE AC COMPRESSOR BROKE RIGHT AFTER THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED. THERE HAS BEEN RECALLS ON 75K OTHER JEEP CHEROKEES, SAME YEAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 58760311. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,457.
MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE HAS A PROBLEM SHIFTING FROM GEAR TO GEAR. THE PROBLEM STARTS BETWEEN 30-45 MILES PER HOUR AND WHEN THE VEHICLE TRIES TO SHIFT GEARS IT HESITATES AND THEN SLAMS INTO THE NEXT GEAR. AT FIRST IT WAS ONLY HAPPENING UPON ACCELERATING BUT NOW IT HAS EVEN STARTED TO CAUSE A PROBLEM WHEN THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTS.
WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO YIELD OR A ROLL THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES DELAYED SHIFTING RESULTING IN NO ACCELERATION FOR 2-3 SECONDS FOLLOWED BY A VERY HARD SHIFT RESULTING IN WHEEL SPIN WHICH CAN LEAVE THE VEHICLE IMMOBILE IN THE ROAD FOR ANOTHER 3 SECONDS. ACCORDING TO JEEP SERVICE AND CORPORATE THIS IS "NORMAL" AND DON'T INTEND TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.

MY JEEP SHIFTER SERVICE LIGHT HAS COME ON AT APPROX 46650 MILES. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC (ACTIVE MILITARY OVERSEAS) AND HE SAID I'M ONE OF SEVERAL JEEPS HE HAS SEEN THIS WEEK WHO HAVE COME IN WITH THE SAME CONCERN. RIGHT NOW MY CAR STILL OPERATES NORMAL WITH THE EXCEPTION. OF THE SERVICE SHIFTER MESSAGE NOT GOING AWAY BUT IT'S ODD THAT SO MANY VEHICLES IN THIS AREA WOULD HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM AT THE SAME TIME.

SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT WOULD APPEAR, THIS WOULD CAUSE ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY GEAR SHIFT TO LIGHT UP RED AS IF MY JEEP DID NOT KNOW WHAT GEAR IT SHOULD BE IN. THIS MAINLY HAPPENED WHEN GOING AROUND A CURVE. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER AND CUT THE VEHICLE OFF TO MAKE THIS RESET. AFTER REVIEWING HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE ONLINE, I IMMEDIATELY HAD THIS ADDRESSED AT THE JEEP DEALERSHIP. THEY WERE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR ME WHICH WAS NOT A COST FRIENDLY REPAIR. THE WIRING-SHIFTER JUMPER AND BEZEL KIT-SHIFTER HAD TO BE REPLACED. CONSIDERING THIS IS AN ISSUES WITH THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES IT WOULD BE GREAT TO SEE A RECALL SO THAT PEOPLE FEEL SAFE WHILE DRIVING.
THE 9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS FOR ALMOST A YEAR. THE TRANSMISSION LURCHES, HESITATES ON ACCELERATION, SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL, AND MAKES CLUCKING SOUNDS WHEN SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. MY DEALER (SHERIDAN MOTORS) TRIED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM WITH A SOFTWARE UPDATE IN JANUARY, 2019 (SEE ATTACHED INVOICE), BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. RECENTLY, WHILE DRIVING ON I-25 NORTH OF DENVER, CO, THE TRANSMISSION HESITATED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS ON ACCELERATION AND DROPPED SPEED FROM 75 MPH TO 61 MPH. THIS ALMOST CAUSED US TO BE REAR-ENDED BY FOLLOWING TRAFFIC. I NO LONGER CONSIDER IT SAFE TO DRIVE MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. I HAVE READ MANY STORIES OF JEEP OWNERS HAVING THE SAME CONTINUOUS ISSUES WITH THESE 9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS, AND I THINK ALL VEHICLES WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS NEED TO BE IMMEDIATELY RECALLED.
