THE VEHICLE'S LOW OIL LIGHT INDICATOR ONLY FLASHES ACROSS THE SCREEN AND DOES NOT REMAIN ON. THIS ONLY TAKES PLACE WHEN THE CAR IS COMPLETELY OUT OF OIL AND THE CAR LOSES POWER AND SHUTS OFF WHILE IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE HAS NO LEAKS BUT REQUIRES OIL EVERY 700 MILES OR SO. THE ENGINE RUNS OFF SYNTHETIC OIL WHICH SHOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED LESS FREQUENTLY, BUT THIS VEHICLE NEEDS OIL REPLACEMENT EVERY 2-3 MONTHS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING TOWED AT 50 MPH BY AN RV, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND MADE THE RV DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THE VEHICLE FRACTURED THE TOW HITCH AND STRUCK THE REAR OF THE RV. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FEDDERLY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP, INC (2500 E MAIN ST, REEDSBURG, WI 53959), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND CASE NUMBER: 33489958 WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,500.
THIS 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE HAS THE 2-SPEED TRANSFER UNIT, AND WAS SOLD AS FLAT TOWABLE, AND MANUAL SO STATES THAT FACT. THE MANUFACTURER MADE THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM ELECTRIC RATHER THAN MECHANICAL. IN 2017 AFTER MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE CHEROKEE NOT TRACKING WHILE BEING TOWED BEHIND THE MOTORHOME AND CAUSING A SEVERE LEFT TO RIGHT WOBBLE BEHIND THE MOTORHOME, JEEP ISSUED A REVISION TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL (S-13). IT STATES THAT A FLAT-TOW WIRING KIT SHOULD BE INSTALLED, BUT JEEP WANTS THE PART AND LABOR TO INSTALL THIS KIT TO BE PAID BY THE JEEP OWNER, NOT BY THE MANUFACTURER. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED UNDER A RECALL. ON A STRAIGHT ROAD THIS WOBBLE HAPPENED TWICE TO ME AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO LOOSE CONTROL OF MY MOTORHOME, NOT TO MENTION DAMAGE TO MY JEEP.
MY CAR KEEPS DISENGAGING WHEN I'M DRIVING. IT FEELS LIKE IT GOES INTO NEUTRAL. CAR READ BUT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE THERE IS ANY CONNECTION TO MAKE IT GO. IT ALSO JUMPS OR POPS WHEN GOING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. JEEP HOOKED UP TO THE COMPUTER AND SAID THERE AREN'T ANY ERROR CODES SO THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING. IT'S SCARY WHEN THE CAR LEAVES DRIVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS WHEN IN MOTION AND THE REVERSE TO DRIVE WHEN IS STARTING UP AND WHEN I'VE BEEN DRIVING IT AND NEED TO TURN AROUND. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE MARCH 2018. I'VE BROUGHT IT TO SCAP JEEP TWICE FOR THE PROBLEM
BRAKE PEDAL THAT SLINGS FORWARD AFTER RELEASING AND MAKING A SLAMMING NOISE, PLASTIC PARTS JUST FALLING OFF INSIDE FROM UNDER THE DASH, THE TRIM FALLING OFF ON THE OUTSIDE, THE OBVIOUS TRANSMISSION, THE POWER LIFTGATE RELEASING AND REFUSING TO CLOSE ON ITS OWN, THE DISPLAY SCREEN BLINKING AND OCCASIONALLY REFUSING TO RESPOND, THE TIRE PRESSURE GAGE INDICATING A WARNING OF PRESSURE TO 51PSI THEN SECONDS LATER CHANGING TO 31PSI (THIS ONE OCCURED AFTER THE LATEST SOFTWARE UPDATE), GPS IS UNBELIEVABLY UNRELIABLE, UCONNECT TAKES CONTROL WHEN NOT GIVEN PERMISSION, START/STOP BUTTON DOES NOT WORK EVERYTIME. SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF HAS BEEN DIFFICULT. ALT FEATURE DOES NOT WORK ABOUT HALF THE TIME, BATTERY HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED TWO TIMES. THE INSIDE LINER AROUND THE ROOF NOT ATTACHED, THE LEFT BACK WHEEL THE TRIM IS POPPED OFF. THE VEHICLE REFUSED TO GO WHEN AT A BUSY INTERSECTION 4 DAYS AGO AND ALMOST CAUSED A COLLISION. GAS PEDAL WAS PUSHED DOWN FOR 5 SECONDS BEFORE IT STARTED TO MOVE.
WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND I MOVE MY FOOT FROM THE BREAK TO GAS THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF - THE SCREENS GO BLACK AND THE ENGINE STALLS. 2 WEEKS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHEN PULLING IN TO A PARKING GARAGE MOVING MY FOOT FROM THE BREAK TO THE GAS. THE LIGHTS FLASHED AND THEN THE A MESSAGE COMES ON THE DASH SAYING TO SHIFT THE CAR IN TO PARK. I HAVE TO SHIFT IT IN TO PARK AND TURN THE CAR OFF COMPLETELY AND THEN BACK TURN IT BACK ON.
CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH A STOP START FEATURE TO CONSERVE FUEL USAGE WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AND HELD AT A STOPLIGHT THE ENGINE STOPS RUNNING AS IT SHOULD. THE PROBLEM IS THE STOP START FEATURE NO LONGER FUNCTIONS AS DESIGNED. THIS FEATURE HAS FAILED IN THE PAST AND REPAIRED MARCH 2018. FUNCTIONED NORMALLY UNTIL OCTOBER 2019 AND REMAINS IN A NOT WORKING CONDITION AS OF MAY 2020. *TR
THE JEEP IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND THE SEAMS FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR ARE NOT SEALED ALL THE WAY ACCORDING TO A JEEP DEALER SERVICE DIAGNOSTIC. THIS IS CAUSING WATER TO LEAK ON TO MY FLOOR AND UNDER THE CARPET, SOAKING IT WITH A STRONG POTENTIAL FOR MOLD/MILDEW. THIS HAS TO BE A DEFECT BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY WEAR AND TEAR IS THE CAUSE. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR ONE YEAR.
WHILE PARKED, THE LIGHTS ON THE SHIFTER ALL TURN RED AND A MESSAGE APPEARS ON THE DASH SCREEN SAYING, "SERVICE SHIFTER". ALSO, THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. AT TIMES, THE TRANSMISSION MAY SLIP WHILE SHIFTING GEARS. ANOTHER ISSUE IS WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE MAY JERK AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING A GEAR OR IMPROPERLY TIMED.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD AND OFTEN VIOLENTLY. WILL SHIFT HARD ENOUGH TO CAUSE A 2/3 EMPTY BOTTLE OF DRINK TO HAVE LIQUID FLY OUT OF THE BOTTLE IN THE CUPHOLDERS TO HOLD THE BOTTLE STATIONARY. SHIFTING CAN OCCUR AT VARIABLE SPEEDS BETWEEN 20-50 POSSIBLY HIGHER SOMETIMES. WE HAVE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER TWICE WHERE THEY SAY A 2015 TRAILHAWK VEHICLE HAS THE NEED OF AN "UPDATE" TO CONTROL SHIFTING, BUT REFUSE TO LISTEN TO THE VEHICLE IS JUST SHIFTING TO HARD. IT HAS SHIFTED SO HARD THAT IT HAS THROWN US FOR WHILE DRIVING, AND IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING IS HITTING UNDER THE CAR. THIS IS NOT THE NEED OF AN UPDATE, EVEN IF THE DEALER AND "JEEP" SAY THIS IS A THING, AND THAT WE ARE NOT THE FIRST TO HAVE THIS ISSUE, BUT THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL RELEASE THIS UPDATE TO "FIX" THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD AT VARIABLE TEMPERATURES TOO, BUT SOMEHOW THE DEALER CAN NEVER FEEL THE HARD SHIFT WHEN THEY TAKE IT OUT. THE HARD SHIFTS HAPPEN ON BOTH HIGHWAYS AND NEIGHBORHOOD ROADS, MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVE FELT THIS SHIFT NOT JUST ONE PERSON.
SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHTS KEEP COMING ON
THE BRAKES LIGHT WILL RANDOMLY COME ON AND THE BRAKES LOCK AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE. YOU'RE STUCK. IT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING YESTERDAY AND I WAS UNABLE TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT STARTED INITIALLY APRIL 2018 AND THE DEALERSHIP KEPT IT FOR WEEKS- BUT WAS EVASIVE ON WHAT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM WAS. WHATEVER WAS DONE -DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IVE FOUND MULTIPLE ONLINE FORUMS WITH PEOPLE DISCUSSING THE SAME ISSUES. SERVICE SHIFTER PROMPT, ALL LIGHTS ON GEAR SHIFTER LIGHT UP AT THE SAME TIME, SOMETIMES WILL NOT LET ME SHIFT, SOMETIMES DOES NOT EFFECT DRIVING BUT WILL NOT GO AWAY UNTIL CAR IS PARKED AND TURNED OFF FOR A PERIOD OF TIME
CONSTANT TRANSMISSION ISSUES THAT APPARENTLY ARE A KNOWN PROBLEM. CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THIS HAS EVEN HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS.IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED ENTIRELY AND WHEN THE CAR IS AT A LOW SPEED.
WHEN ACCELERATING IN LOWER GEARS (1-3) IT SHIFTS HARD AND DELAYED. IT CAN SOMETIMES TAKE 30 SECONDS AFTER PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR TO START MOVING AND JOLT FORWARD.
I WAS ON THE FREEWAY TRAVELING AT ABOUT 70 MPH WHEN THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON. A FEW MINUTES AFTER THAT I LOST POWER TO THE TRANSMISSION. I TRIED SHIFTING IT INTO NEUTRAL AND THAN SHIFTING BACK INTO DRIVE WITH NO CHANGE. I WAS STUCK IN THE EMERGENCY LANE ON THE #3 SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. A STATE TROOPER WAS DISPATCHED. AS I WAS IN PARK (CAN'T REMEMBER IF I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF OR NOT) HE HAD ME PUT IT INTO DRIVE TO SEE IF THE TRANSMISSION WOULD ENGAGE LONG ENOUGH TO GET ME OFF THE FREEWAY. IT DID ENGAGE. I IMMEDIATELY EXITED THE FREEWAY AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAD ME CALL JEEP ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WHO DISPATCHED A TOW TRUCK TO DELIVER THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. IN ADDITION TO THE TRANSMISSION NOT WORKING THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND WILL NOT TURN BACK OFF.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN 12/31/2017 AS USED FROM WALLY ARMOUR IN SALEM OHIO, IT ONLY HAD 11000 MILES ON IT AND SMELLED BRAND NEW STILL. THE FIRST INCIDENT I HAD NOTICED WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE RPMS/ENGINE WOULD REV REALLY HIGH AND LOUD BUT THE CAR WAS ONLY GOING 55 AND IT SEEMED TO BE IN THE WRONG GEAR BUT I WAS IN THE AUTOMATIC DRIVE POSITION WHICH SHOULD NOT CAUSE THIS, I COULD UNDERSTAND IF I WAS IN STANDARD STICK SHIFT AND IF I WOULD DOWN SHIFT IT WOULD CAUSE IT TO DO THAT. THEN I STARTED NOTICING A HESITATION IN THE TAKE OFF OF THE VEHICLE SO WHEN I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND TURNING LEFT IT WAITING FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC IT WILL HESITATE AND GOD FOR BID THERE IS A CAR COMING AND IT IS HESITATING AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WILL LURCH FORWARD AND I GET THROWN FORWARD THEN BACKWARD IN MY SEAT AS IF I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER VEHICLE BUT THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND MY VEHICLE AND IT WILL JAR MY NECK CAUSING PAIN, I HAD NECK SURGERY IN 2016 WITH A CAGE PUT IN AND A FUSION OF 2 CADAVER BONES, I AM IN NO CONDITION FOR MY VEHICLE TO BE LURCHING FORWARD AS IF IT IS GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND. THIS IS NOT A ONE TIME INCIDENT EITHER IT IS ON GOING DAILY. I AM HOPING FOR A RESOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM I HAVE TAKEN IT IN ONCE AND PLAN ON TAKING IT IN AGAIN TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT POSSIBLY DOING SOMETHING TO IT TO FIX IT.
WHILE FLAT-TOWING OUR JEEP CHEROKEE BEHIND OUR MOTORHOME DOWN A HIGHWAY AT 60MPH, WE WENT OVER A MINOR BUMP IN THE ROAD, AND THE JEEP STARTED TO VIOLENTLY WOBBLE/SHAKE (VISIBLE IN REAR CAMERA OF THE RV) WHICH WAS SHAKING/TORQUING THE ENTIRE RV BACK AND FORTH UNCONTROLLABLY. WE HAD TO SLOW & COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY IN ORDER FOR THE WOBBLING TO STOP. WE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO SHOULDER OF HIGHWAY, TO FIND THE CORNER OF THE BUMPER RIPPED OFF, AND THE TOW ANCHOR BENT SIDEWAYS (FROM THE WHIPPING ACTION OF THE JEEP). WE UNHOOKED THE JEEP (NO LONGER TOWABLE) AND DROVE OFF THE HIGHWAY AND DIRECTLY TO A JEEP DEALER. THE JEEP DEALER ASSESSED THE DAMAGE FROM THE WOBBLE (TORN FRONT BUMPER, BENT TOW CONNECTOR, AND CRACKED FRONT SUB FRAME). WE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND THIS WOBBLE TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE TO JEEP; CERTAIN MODEL YEARS (2014-2015 JEEP CHEROKEES) HAVE THIS ISSUE WHEN BEING FLAT-TOWED; APPARENTLY SOMETIMES WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP, THE THE FLAT-TOWED VEHICLE DOESN'T CONSISTENTLY TRACK IN LINE WITH THE MOTORHOME, DUE TO LACK OF POWER TO THE JEEP'S ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM. FCA RELEASED A STATEMENT SAYING THEY WILL 'PROVIDE A COMPLIMENTARY JUMPER WIRE HARNESS AND SWITCH TO ENSURE THE VEHICLE'S EPS SYSTEM HAS POWER TO FUNCTION WHILE IT IS BEING FLAT-TOWED. THESE COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN ENGINEERED AND VALIDATED BY FCA US LLC AND WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO ALL CUSTOMERS THROUGH MOPAR, AS EARLY AS JANUARY 29. IN ADDITION, ALL CHEROKEE OWNERS WILL BE CONTACTED DIRECTLY BY FCA US AND PROVIDED WITH UPDATED INSTRUCTIONS FOR FLAT-TOWING. THESE INSTRUCTIONS SUPERSEDE ALL PREVIOUS INSTRUCTIONS. ALSO, THE VEHICLE'S ONLINE OWNERS MANUAL WILL BE UPDATED.' WE NEVER RECEIVED THAT NOTIFICATION & THEREFORE DIDN'T HAVE THIS PROPER PART TO PREVENT THIS WOBBLE. NOW JEEP IS REFUSING TO HELP PAY FOR THE DAMAGE INCURRED TO OUR VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE.
BOUGHT CAR NEW FROM AN AUTHORIZED JEEP DEALER. WITHIN A COUPLE OF MONTHS STARTED GETTING RECALL NOTICES. THE FIRST TIME, IT TOOK A WEEK TO RE-PROGRAM THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE BECAUSE THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS OVERWHELMED. NO LOANER CAR PROVIDED. WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT "THIS IS HOW THEY WORK THE "BUGS" OUT. "ABRUPT" GEAR SHIFTING AND "SLUGGISH" PERFORMANCE NOT RESOLVED. AT SIX (6) MONTHS TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED WITH NEW UNIT BY A DIFFERENT DEALER. TOOK ANOTHER WEEK TO COMPLETE, AND AS A "WARRANTY CLAIM" NO LOANER CAR PROVIDED. WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT MOST OWNERS WERE GETTING ONLY TWO (2) MORE MONTHS USE OUT OF THIS MODEL. AND, THAT "CHRYSLER/JEEP WILL BE HAPPY TO GET THIS ONE BACK FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT". "ABRUPT" GEAR SHIFTING AND "SLUGGISH" PERFORMANCE CONTINUED. AT 2.9 YEARS, JUST BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRATION, "CHECK TRANSMISSION" SENSOR REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED. "ABRUPT" GEAR SHIFTING AND "SLUGGISH" PERFORMANCE NOT RESOLVED. "GROWLING" AND "SIGHING"NOISES BEGAN JUST AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRATION (9/17) AND HAVE BECOME MORE PRONOUNCED. LATEST ISSUE IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO "FALL OUT OF GEAR" CAUSING SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED STOPPING OF THE VEHICLE WHEN SLOWING AT RED LIGHT OR "STOP" SIGN.
TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY I 94 AT 70MPH 5PM JAN 10TH, 2018, CAME INTO CONTACT WITH VEHICLE WHILE MERGING INTO CENTER LANE. HIS CAR FORCES MINE INTO A SPIN, I CRASHED HEAD ON INTO THE CONCRETE BARRIER/WALL SEPARATING THE EAST AND WEST BOUND LANES. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS IN THE ENTIRE VEHICLE DEPLOYED. NEITHER THE DRIVER, PASSENGER OR SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I SURVIVED BUT HAD TWO BREAKS IN THE STERNAL CHEST PLATE, A FRACTURED RIGHT RIB AND BROKEN LEFT WRIST REQUIRING SURGERY RESULTING IN SCREWS AND PLATES INSTALLED. MEDICAL BILLS OVER $80K I WAS WEARING MY SEATBELT THE ENTIRE TIME. THAT DAY THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND APPROX 40-45 DEGREES. THROUGH THE DEALER, I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURERS CUSTOMER SERVICE WHICH DIRECTED ME TO THEIR FORENSIC TEAM SO THEY COULD OBTAIN THE BLACK BOX IN THE VEHICLE AND ACCESS TO THE CAR. I HAVE SERIOUS CONCERNS REGARDING NOT ONLY MY SAFETY BUT OTHERS THAT OWN THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL. I AM 73 YEARS OLD AND EVERYONE FROM THE AMBULANCE DRIVER TO THE STATE TROOPER THAT WAS ON THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT SAID THAT I HAVE A LAWSUIT HERE. I DO NOT WANT TO FILE SUIT. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME OR THE INCLINATION TO GO THAT DIRECTION BUT I FEEL THAT THE MANUFACTURER OWES ME AND THE OTHER CUSTOMERS SOMETHING SHOULD THEY FIND THEMSELVES IN MY POSITION. THE MANUFACTURERS REPRESENTATIVE WAS NOT VERY HELPFUL AND I FEEL THAT I AM GETTING THE BRUSH OFF AND THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED MY CALLS. I AM HESITANT TO BE A COMPLAINER. I HOPE THAT JEEP/CHRYSLER ADDRESS THIS SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME AS WELL AS OTHERS THAT MAY HAVE THE SAME CONCERNS. *TT *JS
I HAVE A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE AND FOR SOME REASON WHEN IT GETS COLD OUTSIDE. MY CAR WON'T START.IN THE MORNING WHEN I GET UP AND IT'S IN MY DRIVE WAY I CLICK MY CAR REMOTE TO UNLOCK MY CAR AND MY HEADLIGHTS WON'T EVEN COME ON SO I HAVE TO MANUALLY OPEN MY DOOR WITH MY KEY. I TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THERE IS NO SOUNDS OR CRANKING. THE MONITOR IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER TURNS ON THEN IT SHUTS OFF AFTER A WHILE. THE LIGHTS INSIDE THE CAR TURN ON BUT I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE RADIO. THERE ARE SOME DAYS AFTER A FEW MOMENTS IT STARTS AND THERE ARE OTHER DAYS WHERE IT TAKES HOURS TO START. I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S THE ISSUE. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN IT'S 30 DEGREES OR LOWER. SOMETIMES EVEN AFTER WORK IT WON'T START AND I WOULD HAVE TO FIND A RIDE HOME LEAVING IT AT MY JOB.

DEALER CLAIMED THAT JEEP CORPORATE WOULD NOT ALLOW THE DEALER TO MAINTAIN AN INVENTORY OF REQUIRED PARTS, IN THIS CASE A LIFTGATE MODULE. THUS I AM REQUIRED TO RETURN TO THE DEALER FOR A SECOND APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIR FINISHED. I THINK THIS IS UNREASONABLE. SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED THAT THIS IS JEEP POLICY. HE IS NOT PERMITTED TO ORDER LIFTGATE MODULES IN ADVANCE SO AS TO HAVE AN INVENTORY. HE EXPLAINED THAT HE IS REQUIRED TO ORDER THEM FOR EACH REPAIR, THUS REQUIRING THE CUSTOMER TO RETURN FOR A SECOND TIME TO HAVE THE REPAIR FINISHED.

TOOK BACK AGAIN 2 MONTHS LATER THEY SAID SOFTWARE UPDATE WOULD FIX IT. FIXED FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN ALL STARTED AGAIN. THEY DIDN'T EVEN ADDRESS THE TRIM AND LINER ISSUE. GPS ALSO COMPLETELY OFF AND IT WONT UPDATE EITHER. I PURCHASED THIS IN 2016 DEC. THE ENTIRE THING IS JUST FALLING APART PLASTIC PIECES ARE FALLING OUT FROM UNDER THE DASH! CANT GET HELP AND PAID 2500 EXTRA FOR WARRANTY THEY WONT FIX A NON FIXABLE ISSUE.
MY CAR HAD 40,343 MILES AND WAS IN GREAT CONDITION. ON NOVEMBER 19, 2017 MY CAR WOULDN'T START AND HAD THE BRAKE LIGHT ON (WHICH THE BRAKE WASN'T ON), CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, OFF ROAD LIGHT ON, AND BATTERY LOW LIGHT ON. I CHARGED MY BATTERY AND TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME OFF AND BREAK LIGHT BUT THE OTHERS WERE STILL ON. THE CAR WAS DRIVING FINE. THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO START MY CAR AND IT STARTED BUT WAS ACTING AWFUL. IT WAS GIVING ME RESISTANCE TO CHANGE GEAR, IT FELT LIKE THE BRAKE WAS ON EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T, AND IT WAS SCARY TO DRIVE IT. I TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP. THEY SAID THE COMPUTER WASN'T READING ANYTHING CORRECTLY AND THEY HOPE THAT PUTTING A NEW BATTERY WILL HELP EVERYTHING GO BACK TO NORMAL. THEY CHANGED IT AND IT DIDN'T WORK. THEY SAID THE ECU AND TCM CONFIGURATION WAS MISMATCHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I DON'T THINK A CAR THAT ONLY HAS 40K MILES SHOULD HAVE ISSUES WITH ITS COMPUTER LIKE I DID. I SPENT $1720.61 TO FIX IT AND I'M NOT HAPPY WITH THIS SITUATION

WHEN POWER IS LOST INSTRUMENT PANEL READS SERVICE TRANSMISSION, SERVICE ABS, AND SERVICE PARKING BRAKE. NOT ENOUGH DATA FOR A PATTERN; ERROR HAS OCCURED DURING MOMENTS OF AGGRESSIVE GEAR CHANGING (MOUNTAINS) AND USING CRUISE CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY.

SERVICE TRANSMISSION CAME ON AFTER I PURCHASED THIS CAR 3 DAYS AGO WITH 47K MILES. AS I SLOWED TO A STOP COMING OFF THE HIGHWAY THE CAR VIBRATED VIOLENTLY REPEATEDLY AND THEN CUT OFF. IT TOOK 3 TRIES TO FINALLY TURN THE VEHICLE ON AND IT CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. AT ONE POINT I WAS HAVING TO THROW THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO GET IT TO STOP JERKING AS I DECELERATED. NO WHERE IS IT LISTED IN OWNERS MANUAL, I HAVE BEEN IN AUTOMOTIVE FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND IF AN ENGINE BURNS A QT PER 1,000 YOU REBUILD OR BUY A NEW ENGINE, I AM NOW TOLD I MUST CHECK AND ADD OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES ON A 2015 WITH ONLY 42,000 MILES! IN NOVEMBER 2017, THE VEHICLE BEGAN DISPLAYING SERVICE TRANSMISSION, SERVICE PARKING BRAKE, AND 4WD TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE MESSAGES WHEN STARTED. WHEN SHIFTING THE CAR OUT OF PARK INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE THE CAR LURCHED, MADE A LOUD CLUNK, AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE CAN NOT BE DRIVEN AND MUST BE TURNED OFF. SOMETIMES UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE AGAIN THE WHOLE PROCESS WOULD REPEAT. OTHER TIMES UPON RESTART THE VEHICLE IS NORMAL BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON FOR A DAY OR SO. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THAT THEY CAN NOT CHECK HISTORICAL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT LOGS, AS THEY ARE NOT RETAINED. THE ISSUES HAVE BECOME MORE AND MORE FREQUENT AS TIME PASSES. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET FAILED COMPLETELY WHILE IN MOTION.

AFTER LEAVING IT IMMEDIATELY STARTED DOING THE SAME THING. WHEN APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT ON A CITY STREET AS I BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE SHUT COMPLETELY OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. JEEP NEEDS TO RECALL THIS MODEL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. EVERY TIME I DRIVE THIS VEHICLE I AM WORRIED IT'S GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD TIME AND TIME AGAIN THAT IT WAS PART OF THE BREAK IN PERIOD AND THERE WERE NO CODES SPITTING OUT UNTIL THIS PAST SUMMER WHERE I GOT THE SERVICE SHIFTER PROBLEM A SECOND TIME THAT WAS ACCOMPANIED WITH SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE. I NEVER HAVE USED THIS VEHICLE OFF ROAD AND MAYBE TWICE FOR VIRGINIA SNOW. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THERE WAS A RECALL, WHICH THEY HAVE FIXED. BUT NOW WE ARE BACK TO THE SAME SYMPTOMS ONLY NOW THE VEHICLE WANTS TO STOP FORWARD MOTION WHILE DRIVING. IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE SAYING IT WAS A WIRING ISSUE. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE. THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER HAS TRIED TO REPAIR THIS 3 TIMES FOR US. WE ARE THE 2ND OWNER. THE FIRST OWNER HAD THE SAME ISSUES. THE ORIGINAL OWNER HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED.
