Ever since I bought this, the battery keeps dying. There is something in the electrical that keeps draining the battery. I went online and typed in "2019 Jeep Cherokee battery keeps dying" and there are HUNDREDS of people with the same problem as mine. I went to AutoZone and had my battery tested. The man tested the battery and it was fine. He told me that something electrical was draining the battery. Can you help us?
2019 JEEP CHEROKEE WITH 2.4L MULTIAIR ENGINE IS CONSUMING OIL AT APPROXIMATELY 1 QUART / 1,000. WITHOUT ANY INDICATION THE VEHICLE WILL STOP WHILE DRIVING WHEN THE OIL LEVEL IS LOW. THIS LAST OCCURRED WHILE BRAKING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ON A DIVIDED HIGHWAY. NO WARNING OR INDICATION THAT THE LEVEL IS LOW IS FORCING US TO CHECK THE OIL LEVEL CONSTANTLY TO MAKE SURE THE LEVEL IS NOT LOW ENOUGH TO CAUSE THIS CONDITION. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THIS OCCUR MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE FIRST 33K MILES AND SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN CONSUMING MORE OIL LATELY.
WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND STARTING BACK UP TO SPEED THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ARE NOT IN SYNC CAUSING A HESITATION TO OCCUR NOT ALL THE TIME BUT SOMETIMES WHEN YOUR COMING ON TO THE INTERSTATE AND YOU GO TO ACCELERATE THIS HESITATION OCCURS WITCH GOOD BE DANGEROUS.
OIL SEEPING FROM OIL PAN, SIDE COVER, HEAD GASKET AND A TICKING NOISE THAT SOUNDS LIKE LIFTERS
ENGINE BURNED ONE QUART OF OIL IN 458 MILES. AFTER 2 QUARTS DOWN ENGINE WILL STALL
NHTSA PERSONNEL - I WANT TO REPORT A SERIOUS (SAFETY) PROBLEM WITH OUR 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. IN THE LAST 2-3 WEEKS, MY WIFE HAS EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN STALLING OF THE CAR WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR NOTIFICATION. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM SINCE SHE WAS ON THE ROAD ON HER WAY TO TAKE OUR KIDS TO SCHOOL. LUCKILY, NO ONE WAS BEHIND HER AND SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR. TODAY (10/30), I CALLED OUR LOCAL JEEP/DODGE DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR THIS ISSUE. AS I WAS DESCRIBING THIS PROBLEM, THE SERVICE REP TOLD ME TO CHECK THE OIL LEVEL OF THE CHEROKEE DUE TO A KNOWN "OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM." SURE ENOUGH, I CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL IN THE CAR AND THERE WAS HARDLY ANY OIL. SOON AFTER, I WENT TO WALMART AND BOUGHT 5 QT OF 0W20 SYNTHETIC OIL. DROVE THE CAR AFTERWARDS AND NO STALLING OCCURRED. PLEASE HELP TO PRESSURE FCA US LLC OR JEEP TO FIX THIS ISSUE RIGHT AWAY VIA RECALL OR REWORK. ENGINES CAN BE REPLACED BUT NOT LIVES - THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM!! THE STARTER WENT BAD AROUND 40,000 MILES. SOMETIMES IT STARTS OTHER TIMES IT TAKES HOURS TO START. I ALWAYS GET A NOTIFACTION THAT SAYS STARTER PROTECTION MODE ENGIN WARMING AFTER A FEW FAILED START ATTEMPTS. THE CAR STALLS OUT OFTEN. ANY TURNS SHUT THE CAR OFF. OIL MUST BE ADDED TWICE A MONTH TO FIX THE STALL ISSUE. HALF THE TIME IT SAYS 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND CRUISE CONTROL UNAVAILABLE. THIS JEEP IS A LEMON. A DISASTROUS PURCHASE. SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE STARTERS AS MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. 2 YEAR OLD CAR COSTING ME 900 TO FIX STARTER IS A JOKE.
WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES GOING INTO DRIVE 50% OF THE TIME THIS HESITATION USUALLY LASTS FROM 1 TO 3 SECONDS. DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME BUT IT DOES HAPPEN FREQUENTLY,
WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL HAS A NOTCH, OR HARD SPOT IN IT TO GO STRAIGHT. IT EITHER WANTS TO GO RIGHT OR LEFT, AND WHEN YOU TRY TO CORRECT IT, IT'S HARD TO MOVE THE WHEEL THEN WITH MORE PRESSURE YOU CAN GET PAST THAT POINT THEN IT GETS SUPER EASY AND JERKS. WHAT HAPPENS IS WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO GO STRAIGHT, YOU JUST BOUNCE BACK AND FORTH IN THE LANE. IT'S EXTREMELY ANNOYING BUT EVEN MORE DANGEROUS. EVEN WITH BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL YOU JUST BOUNCING FROM RIGHT TO LEFT TO RIGHT TO LEFT THE WHOLE TIME. JEEP ALWAYS SAYS THERE'S NOTHING WRONG AND THAT'S NORMAL, BUT IT'S NOT.
REPEATED WINDSHIELD CHIPS AND CRACKS 3 IN 1 MONTH. REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD, NOW 4 MORE IN 2 MONTHS. HAVE ONLY HAD VEHICLE 3 MONTHS.
THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THIS ISSUE 3X OVER THE PAST YEAR. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN THE CAR WAS PUT IN REVERSE AND WAS MOVING IN A BUSY PARKING LOT, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CAME ON AND IMMEDIATELY HALTED THE CAR. WHEN TURNED OFF IT TURNED BACK ON AND WHEN PUT IN BREAK AND TURNED OFF IT WENT OFF AND WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE NEXT INCIDENT THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE AND IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET, WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CAME ON AND THE CAR CAME TO AN ABRUPT HALT FROM 15 MPH TO 0. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURNED IT OFF AND ON AGAIN AND IT DROVE OK. THE 3RD INCIDENT THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN IN A BUSY INTERSECTION OF A CITY STREET, WHEN THE E BRAKE CAME ON AND THE CAR IMMEDIATELY HALTED. WE TURNED THE BRAKE OFF AND LOOKED UP AND IT STILL WOULDN'T MOVE, BUT ALL OF THE LIGHTS WERE ON INCLUDING THE HEADLIGHT BRIGHTS. IT STATED ON THE DASH TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND OTHER LIGHTS WERE ON AS WELL. WE PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN TRIED TO RESTART IT. IT WOULDN'T START. WE SAT FOR 10 SECONDS AND THEN RESTARTED IT AND TURNED THE BRIGHTS OFF AND THEN THE CAR DROVE OK.
THE JEEP JERSEY ALOT STOP AND START I THOUGHT SOMEONE AND HIT ME FROM BEHIND. GOING UP HILLS IT JENKS. I HAD TO REPLACE A SHOCK LAST MONTH THAT WAS LEAKING AND I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW .
THE VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING AND ENGINE SHUTS DOWN. WILL START BACK UP BUT STALLS WHEN TAKING A TURN WORST
WHILE DRIVING, MY CAR WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THERE IS A DINGING NOISE AND A QUICK FLASH OF THE BATTERY LIGHT AND THEN IT SAYS THE PRESS BRAKE AND PUSH START. I CAN NOT ACCELERATE BUT CAN BRAKE. AS SOON AS I'M COMPLETELY STOPPED, THE STEERING LOCKS AND IT STRUGGLES TO START AGAIN. IT IS RANDOM AND HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE IN A ROW. IT HAPPENED 4 MONTHS AGO AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THE BATTERY FAILED AND REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN A WEEK AGAIN WHILE I WAS TURNING. AFTER I RESTARTED IT, IT DID IT LIKE 15 SECONDS LATER. THEN TWO DAYS AFTER THAT IT SHUT OFF RANDOMLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING 35-40 MPH DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD. I'VE TAKEN IT IN AGAIN AND THIS TIME THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. BATTERY WAS FINE, NO CODES. EVEN THE SOFTWARE THAT GOT UPDATED BECAUSE OF THE RECALL (STALLING WHILE DRIVING) WAS FINE. I'VE SEEN PEOPLE SAY THAT THE OIL LEVEL CAN CAUSE IT TO STALL, BUT MY OIL WAS AT 60% AT THE TIME IT STARTED HAPPENING. IT'S NOT SAFE THAT THE CAR RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WITHOUT NOTICE, WHILE DRIVING ON A ROAD OR HIGHWAY. THAT CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF IT HAPPENS AT THE WRONG TIME.
THE VEHICLE WILL JERK QUICKLY TO THE RIGHT WITHOUT NOTICE, WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY.
The start/stop function frequently failed and the car struggled to start up. Took it to the dealership and they said it just needed a software update. The software update did not fix the issue and my car failed to turn back on at a traffic light once it turned green. I did some research on the issue and found MANY other 2019 cherokee owners have had the same issue and those people all said there was a dead spot on the starter. Took my car back to the dealership's service department and was told I needed a new starter. It's a just barely 2 year old vehicle. It should not need a new starter already. And the issue started in 2020 but got significantly worse this year. It puts people's safety at risk. Some have even said the start/stop feature shut the car off mid turn. I'm in a rental car right now until the car is fixed.
CAR STALLS WHILE WHILE IDLING. CAR HAS TO BE PUT BACK INTO PARK AND IT TAKES A FEW TRIES BEFORE THE ENGINE STARTS AGAIN. DEALER INSPECTED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND REPLACED THE BATTERY 3 MONTHS AGO.
TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE DETECTED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE STOPPED OR ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO RESPOND AND IS ONGOING. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TWICE TO RON LEWIS AUTOMOTIVE GROUP (600 CLAIRTON BLVD, PITTSBURGH, PA 15236, (412) 655-7500) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE WORKED AS DESIGNED. WHILE IDOL AT LIGHT DOVE & 29TH ST MCALLEN TEXAS VEHICLE TURNED OFF AND STALLED (RECALL ID#286936) IN HEAVY CONSTRUCTION ON INTERSECTION INCREASED THE UNSAFE CONDITION FOR MY PASSENGERS (ALL CHILDREN) THEN STARTED I DROVE ACROSS THE INTERSECTION- MID DRIVE STEER WHEEL LOCKED LIGHTS BLINKINING VEHICLE ENGINE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE CALLED DEALERSHIP SAID TO BRING IT IN THERE WERE A LOT OF RECALLS ON ABOUT THIS OR I NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. THAT DAY I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SINGLES AND ENDED UP SPENDING THE NEXT 2 WEEKS AT HOME. ALL OF THESE APPEAR TO BE RECALL AND CREATED UNSAFE CONDITIONS NOT ONLY FOR MYSELF, MY CHILDREN, AND THEIR TEAMMATES (MY OTHER PASSENGERS) BUT FOR OTHER DRIVERS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND CHILDREN RIDING THEIR BIKES I HAD TO HONK TO CATCH THEIR ATTENTION AND PUT ON MY HAZARDS LIGHTS SO THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME WOULD NOTICE I WAS STALLED AGAIN ON DOVE AND 29TH ST THOURGHOUT ALL THIS TIME I KEPT GETTING CALLS TO PURCHASE EXTENDED WARRANTY NEVER REC'D CALL OR TEXT ABOUT RECALL UNTIL FEB. 1ST, 2021THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME I REC'D NOTIFICATION IN WRITING VIA TEXT ABOUT RECALL
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT OR DIED. EITHER WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS OR TURNING LEFT/RIGHT THE SAME THING HAPPENS. WITHOUT NOTICE, LIGHT INDICATORS FOR BATTERY, AUTOMATIC START, AND NOW ENGINE POPS ON WHILE THE STEERING LOCKS UP AS THE JEEP STALLS. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE ONLY FOR THEM TO SAY THERE AREN'T ANY ACTIVE RECALLS FOR MY JEEP AND THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS THE CAUSE FOR THE VEHICLE TO STALL WHILE DRIVING. I SERVICE MY VEHICLE REGULARLY AND KEEP UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN AUGUST OF 2018 ON ONLY HAVE 34,588 MILES. THIS MAKES NO SENSE AND I FEAR THAT MY AND THE PASSENGERS IN MY JEEP LIVES ARE AT RISK FROM THE MALFUNCTIONS OF THIS JEEP ENGINE SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURE HAS BEEN NO HELP FOR THE NUMEROUS CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I JUST WISH THEY COULD ACTUALLY FIX IT SO I CAN HAVE SOME PIECE OF MIND!
THE JEEP STARTED STALLING WHEN IN MOTION/ DRIVING ABOUT A MONTH AGO, IT USUALLY HAPPENED WHEN BRAKING TO STOP AND THE JEEP WILL NOT TURN BACK ON. IT TAKES ABOUT THREE TIMES TO TURN OVER AND START BACK UP. YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSIER ROAD THE JEEP STARTED THROWING ERRORS STAYING SYSTEMS WERE NOT WORKING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN WHEN I TRIED TO DRIVE IT THROUGH THE STOP LIGHT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OR ACCELERATE. I GOT IT PULLED OVER IN A GAS STATION PARKING LOT AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN OVER THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES AND THEN IT FINALLY DID. NOT WHEN I TRY TO REMOTE START THE VEHICLE IT WILL NOT STAY RUNNING. EVERY TIME I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN I HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND I AM LUCKY I HAVE NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AS NOTHING WORKS NOT EVEN MY HAZARD LIGHTS. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ANYMORE. WHEN THE ELECTRIC ISSUE HAPPENED YESTERDAY THERE WAS A RED FLASHING LIGHTENING BOLT ON THE DASH AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS ALSO FLASHING WHEN IT WAS TELLING ME CERTAIN SYSTEMS WERE NOT WOKING. I TRIED TO GET A PICTURE BUT IT DID NOT TAKE. I AM CURRENT IN CANADA AT COLLEGE AND WITH THE BORDERS BEING CLOSED I CAN NOT JUST DRIVE TO NY TO GET IT LOOKED AT. I TRIED TO CALL A JEEP DEALER HERE BUT NOW ONE WILL RETURN MY CALLS
BACKING OUT OF GARAGE GASOLINE WAS COMING OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND FALLING ONTO THE DRIVEWAY. WHEN THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF THE GAS STOPPED COMING OUT. TURNED THE ENGINE BACK ON AND GAS STARTED COMING OUT AGAIN SO I PARKED IT IN THE YARD. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY HAD IT TOWED TO THEIR PLACE. THEY TOLD ME THE FUEL LINE WAS DISCONNECTED AT THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR. THEY STATED THAT YOU CAN'T REMOVE THIS WITHOUT A SPECIAL TOOL AND IT WAS PROBABLY NOT FULLY LOCKED IN WHEN MADE AND OVER TIME CAME LOOSE. BRAD AT CROWN JEEP IN CLEVELAND, TN. THAT'S ALSO WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM.
I SUSPECT THAT SOMEONE IS TAKING OVER MY CAR USING THE OBD2 PORT. I WAS AT AN APPOINTMENT ON MONDAY AND AROUND 7:00 PM I HEARD MY CAR LOCKED AND I HAD MY CAR ALREADY LOCKED. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE CAR, THE CAR RADIO SCREEN WAS JUMBLED UP AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE AFTER U TURNED ON THE CAR. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AGAIN IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE SCRAMBLED ICONS ON THE SCREEN. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE SINCE WORKING AT CATALENT IN HARMANS MD. I HAD A COUPLE OF PHONE CALLS THAT OCCURRED PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT HAPPENING WHICH WAS ABOUT 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO MY CAR LOCKING OR THE INDICATION OF IT LOCKING WHEN THE HORN WENT OFF TWICE. MY CAR WAS PARKED RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING LOCATED IN ROSEDALE MARYLAND, 8767 PHILADELPHIA RD SUITE C, ZIP CODE 21237. THE CAR HAS BEEN FEELING WEIRD EVER SINCE WHILE DRIVING. WHEN WORKING AT CATALENT, I HAVE 3 POLICE REPORTS OF PEOPLE WHO HAD GOTTEN INTO MY CAR ON MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS EVEN BREAKING ITEMS IN MY CAR. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED UNTIL I STARTED WORKING WITH THIS JOB. I AM NO LONGER WORKING THERE NOW DUE TO HOSTILE WORKING CONDITIONS AND WAS FIRED DUE TO HAVING NEGATIVE TIME. IN WHICH THOSE TIMES REQUIRED ME TO HAVE MY VEHICLE REPAIRED AND DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENTS THAT I UTILIZED PTO TIME AND WAS APPROVED BY THE SUPERVISOR. I HAVE A LAWYER SPEAKING WITH CATALENT LAWYER AS WELL AS EEOC CASES AND A WORKER'S COMPENSATION CASE DUE TO A WORKER ALLOWING A METAL 10 FOOT LADDER FALL ON MY BACK AND I WAS TOLD TO COMPLETE A NEAR MISS REPORT. I WAS OUT FOR A MONTH AND UPON MY RETURN, I OF COURSE HAD A VEHICLE ISSUE AND TOLD MY SUPERVISOR WHEN I WOULD RETURN. I TOLD HIM THAT A I WOULD RERUN ON WEDNESDAY AND WAS FIRED ON A TUESDAY. THIS HAPPENED ON JULY 27. AND STILL, I SUSPECT THAT THEY ARE STILL FINDING WAYS TO SABOTAGE MY VEHICLE.
6 TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK, MY CAR HAS SHUT OFF MID DRIVE. AS I AM DRIVING, MY CAR WILL DING, MY BATTERY LIGHT WILL FLASH ON AND THEN MY CAR WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WITHIN 3-5 SECONDS. I WILL HAVE TO TURN MY KEY TO OFF, WAIT A MINUTE AND RESTART. I WILL HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS PEDAL AND MY CAR WILL SPUTTER BEFORE IT TURNS OVER AND STARTS BACK UP. UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, I DO NOT HAVE ANY ENGINE LIGHTS DISPLAYED ON MY SCREEN FOR ATTENTION AND EVERYTHING RUNS SMOOTHLY. I HAVE ALSO CHECKED MY BATTERY ON THE SCREEN DISPLAY AS I DRIVE AND IT IS ALWAYS BETWEEN 14.2-14.4V. DURING THESE SHUTS, MY CAR IS GOING UNDER 30 MILES PER HOUR, BUT HAS HAPPENED AS I AM TURNING AND GOING STRAIGHT. MOST RECENTLY (THIS MORNING), I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT (HAD JUST PULLED OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT AT MY APARTMENT) AND MY BATTERY LIGHT TURNED ON AND MY CAR LOCKED. THE STEERING WHEEL AND PEDALS WERE UNUSABLE, BUT MY ENGINE REMAINED ON. I CHECKED MY BATTERY DURING THIS AND IT SAYS IT WAS AT 12.2V. I HAD TO SHUT MY CAR OFF, PUMP THE GAS TO TURN THE ENGINE OVER AND MY BATTERY DISPLAYED AS BACK AT 14.4V. THIS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES BEFORE I WAS OUT OF MY APARTMENT COMPLEX (EVERY 50 FEET OR SO) AND I TURNED AROUND AND PARKED AGAIN. I HAD MY CAR HOOKED UP TO DIAGNOSTICS MACHINE AFTER IT BEGAN THE FIRST SHUT DOWNS, BUT IT RETURNED WITH NO ERROR CODES AND MY BATTERY TESTED FINE AND ALL THE WIRES WERE SECURE. I CALLED MY JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED I AM OUTSIDE MY WARRANTY (BY 800 MILES), SO I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE FIX. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT WITH MY CAR. I CAN SEE THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH THAT MANY OTHER JEEP CHEROKEE OWNERS ARE HAVING THESE EXACT ISSUES AND JEEP IS GIVING THEM THE RUNAROUND. ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 1130 HOURS, MY RECENTLY PURCHASED 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE PLUS 4X4 WITH 30,000 MILES LOCKED UP AT A SPEED APPROXIMATELY 30 PLUS MPH, WHILE ENTERING AN INTERSTATE ON RAMP. A TRACTOR TRAILER TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES AN HOUR NARROWLY AVOIDED ME IN A NEAR HEAD ON / T-BONE ACCIDENT. MY VEHICLES ENGINE REVVED PRIOR TO MY TRANSMISSION MAKING TREMENDOUS NOISE AND SUDDENLY MY VEHICLE FELT AS IF I HAD JUST HIT A SOLID CONCRETE WALL. MY VEHICLE LOST ALL STEERING AND I HAD ZERO CONTROL OVER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING. MY DASH LIT UP WITH EVERY LIGHT AND MY PARKING BRAKE WAS ALSO ENGAGED. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED A SECOND LATER, I WOULDN'T BE ALIVE! IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT DAMAGE THIS VEHICLE WOULD HAVE CAUSE PHYSICALLY TO ME OR ANY PASSENGER. THE TRANSMISSION WILL DAMAGE THE ENGINE AND VICE VERSA, SO RECALLING ONE AFTER IT DAMAGED THE OTHER, IS LIKE PUTTING A BAND AID ON A TURD! NORTHBOUND INTERSTATE 77 ON RAMP AT THE POCATALICO ENTRANCE (I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AND THIS IS MY FIRST VEHICLE PURCHASE). BOUGHT CAR IN 1/20 WITH 2.4L TIGERSHARK ENGINE. USING EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL; GARAGE DID NOT DIAGNOSE AND CAR IS NOW AT JEEP DEALER. WE HAD OIL CHANGES COMPLETED AS REQUIRED AND STILL HAD TO ADD OIL BETWEEN CHANGES. AT THE LAST GARAGE VISIT THEY HAD TO ADD 2.5 QUARTS OF OIL. NO OIL LIGHT CAME ON AT ANY TIME. WHEN CAR STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AND WANTED TO STALL WE TOOK IMMEDIATELY TO GARAGE. THEY SAY WE NEED A REBUILT OR NEW ENGINE BECAUSE OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION. ONCE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A HALT, THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE HAD DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. I CALL JEEP AND THEY CHECK IT AND SAY THAT THE ENGINE WAS LOW ON OIL AND THAT WAS THE RESON IT SHUT OFF.THEN BLAMED ME FOR NOT TAKING THE JEEP TO CHANGE THE OIL AT 3000 MILES, BUT THE SAME DEALER HAD TALL ME TO CHANGED EVERY 5000 MILES. AN OIL COMSUMSION TEST STARTED AND SO FAR IT SHOWS THAT IT CONSUMED 1 QUARTER OF OIL ON 1300 MILES , DEALER RECOMEND A SECOND OIL COMSUMSION TEST.

THE SERVICE MANAGER ALSO CLUELESSLY TOLD ME TO GIVE IT A FEW HOURS AFTER EACH RIDE UNTIL THE BATTERY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE AUTO START-STOP FUNCTIONALITY RECHARGES ITSELF. ALTHOUGH I FOLLOWED THEIR INSTRUCTION, I GOT ZERO RESULT. TODAY AT THE TIME OF WRITING THIS COMPLAINT, IT IS GETTING CLOSE TO TWO YEARS AFTER MY PURCHASE AND THERE OCCURS ANOTHER ANNOYING BUG: THE MAIN BATTERY KEEPS DYING ON ME EVERY TIME I WANT TO START THE CAR. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V344000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION THE FAILURE. AFTER COMING TO A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION WITH A RED LIGHT I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AND THE AUTO ENGINE ON/OFF FEATURE ACTIVATED. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE BUT AS SOON AS I APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR THE DISPLAYS, DASH LIGHTS, AND HEADLIGHTS ALL TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE ALSO TURNED OFF. THE ELECTRONICS STAYED OFF FOR SEVERAL MORE SECONDS BEFORE COMING BACK ON BUT I COULD NOT START THE VEHICLE FOR NEARLY A MINUTE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON I HAD PUT IT IN PARK, HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, AND HAD HELD THE PUSH TO START BUTTON IN ALL THREE POSITIONS. THE ENGINE DID NOT ATTEMPT TO TURN OVER AT ANY TIME. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE, I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND CONTINUE TO MY HOME. ONCE I ARRIVED, I CYCLED THROUGH THE VEHICLE INFORMATION SCREENS. THE BATTERY READ AN OUTPUT OF 13.6 VOLTS. THE VEHICLE ACTED NORMALLY AFTERWARDS AND NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED AFTER OR WERE ON BEFORE.
About 1 year after purchasing 2019 Jeep Cherokee, the SUV would stall. This is what happens: stopped at a red light or a stop sign. Foot is on the brake. Once the light turns green , or I can now process beyond the stop Sign, I lift my foot off the brake, to the gas. As soon as my foot is lifted from the brake. The auto park/brake goes on. The brake pedal gets stuck. I am not able to drive. The light turns orange for the parking brake(was not prior) the light turns orange where it states “PULL ON (P) “. Cars in back of me start to beep their horns. I have to then put the car into park (it is currently in drive) . After placed in park, I have to completely turn the engine off. Restart the car/SUV, then go back into drive. There has been times when I was not able to do this (ie restart the SUV). I would have to spend several minutes trying to push (pump) the brake a few times that is locked now. I only have to do this when I am Not able to put the car into park from drive before restarting the car (SUV). This happens without me even adjusting the Brake / Park that reads “PULL ON “ with a “P” and circle. Meaning, the parking brake light is not on when this happens; it is off. I Have brought to the dealership and told they “cannot replicate the problem .” They explain “diagnostics “ were run and there is no issues. I thought maybe it has something to do with electrical and the engine shutting off automatically while stopped a light. I asked if this feature could be turned off and was told by the dealership it could Not be. Meaning, the feature where the car engine shuts off when stopped at a light . No resolution; dealership overall dismissive of concern. Recently have noticed rarely that the lane change departure feature will not light up or alarm when there is a “blind spot” and a car present. This was a new purchase in 2019 and was not a used car purchase. The year of the car is a 2019.

ENGINE WILL CONSUME 4-5 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN SCHEDULED/PRE PROGRAMMED OIL CHANGES. ALL OIL CHA TEA HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED AS SCHEDULED. ENGINE WILL SHUT DOWN SPONTANEOUSLY DUE TO LOW OIL IF OIL IS NOT CHECKED AT EVERY REFUELING.
WHEN DRIVING ON SAME ROADS WITH SIMILAR CLOUD COVER 60% OF THE TIME THE RADIO RECEPTION IS NOT WORKING WELL. CUTS IN AND OUT. THE OTHER 40% OF THE TIME IT WORKS FINE. THE AUDIO COMING FROM A MEDIA SOURCE IS NOT EFFECTED AND NEITHER IS SIRUS RADIO. ONLY FM AND AM STATIONS.

I COULDN'T CONTROL THE STEERING, HIT THE CURB, IT TOOK OUT A CHUNK OF THE TIRE AND BENT THE RIM. I BACKED UP AND WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY, DROVE CAR DOWN STREET TRYING TO GET IT IN DRIVEWAY. COULDN'T STEER, PARKED IT IN FRONT OF MY NEIGHBORS HOUSE.
