WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AROUND TOWN OR ON THE HIGHWAY IF I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR FOR ANY REASON THAT REQUIRES ME TO SLOW DOWN THE ACCELERATOR HAS AN EXTREMELY SLOW RESPONSE TIME WHEN I RE- ACCELERATE ANYWHERE BETWEEN 3 TO 6 SECONDS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF ANOTHER VEHICLE IS COMING UP BEHIND YOU AND TRAVELING FASTER THAN THE CAR CAN ACCELERATE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND BECAUSE I CAN'T GET THE CAR TO ACCELERATE BACK TO THE SPEED I WAS TRAVELING UNTIL THE SLOW RESPONSE ALLOWS ME TO SPEED UP.
WHEN TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 35 MPH, THE STEERING FEELS LIKE IT IS ABNORMALLY DIFFICULT TO KEEP CENTERED IN THE LANE. THEN THE VEHICLE STARTS TO DRIFT EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT AND WHEN I TRY TO CORRECT IT BACK TO CENTER LANE IT HAS SOME RESISTANCE AND THEN IT JERKS CAUSING IT TO OVER CORRECT. THIS GIVE THE FEELING OF CONTROL LOSS FOR A MOMENT, AND AFTER ITS BACK TO CENTER IT GOES THE OTHER WAY DOING THE SAME THING. WHEN IT IS DOING IT, OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD NOTICE IT TOO AND WON'T PASS ON THE LEFT IN FEAR OF THE VEHICLE SWERVING TO HIT THEM.
JEEP HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. FIRST TIME THEY COULDN'T DIAGNOSE IT, AFTER SUBMITTING A PROBLEM ON HERE DEALER FINALLY TOOK THE TIME TO LOOK INTO IT. AFTER TAKING IT BACK AGAIN THEY ENDED UP KEEPING THE CAR FOR 1 WEEK AND THEY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. 2,000 MILES LATER ANOTHER STEERING PROBLEM IS OCCURRING. STEERING IS VERY SQUIRRELLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS JUST LIKE BEFORE. CAR CONSTANTLY IS PULLING TO EITHER SIDE. DEALER DIAGNOSED IT SAYING IT'S THE CASTOR FROM THE ALIGNMENT BUT THE DEALER CANNOT FIX IT AND NOW HAS LEFT ME SITTING IN THE WATER AGAIN. *TR
AT TIMES THE DASHBOARD LIGHTING AND THE TOUCH SCREEN MONITOR GOES DARK; CREATING A SAFETY CONDITION BY WHICH I CANNOT DETERMINE HOW FAST I AM GOING AND IT DOES NOT ALLOW FOR ANY OF THE SAFETY ITEMS TO BE IDENTIFIED PROPERLY. THIS CONDITION HAS OCCURRED AT NIGHT AND WHEN IT DOES IT MAKES FOR VERY UNSAFE RIDE. I AM VERY CONCERNED WITH DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM WITH NO SUCCESS. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK HOME.
THERE WERE SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF THE FOLLOWING HAPPEN: CAR STARTS FINE, I DRIVE FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THE CAR JUST SHUTS OFF AND JUST STOPS ALL OF A SUDDEN. SO I WAIT AND TRY TURNING IT BACK ON. THANK GOODNESS IT WASN'T ON A HIGHWAY. SOMETIME IT RE-STARTS THE 1ST TIME BUT SOMETIMES IT TAKES A FEW TRIES. FIRST TIME THIS STARTED HAPPENING (NOV. 2019), THE DEALER SAID IT NEEDED OIL CHANGE BUT IT WAS ONLY AT AROUND 40% OIL LIFE. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS "BONE DRY." IT WAS FINE AFTER OIL CHANGE. NOW (FEB 2020) DASHBOARD STILL HAS THE OIL LIFE AS 48% AND IT'S ONLY BEEN 4000 MILES OR SO SINCE LAST OIL CHANGE. DEALER WILL PROBABLY TELL ME AGAIN THAT IT NEEDS AN OIL CHANGE BUT IT'S VERY STRANGE A NEW CAR (2019 JEEP CHEROKEE MODEL) WILL BURN THROUGH ITS OIL IN JUST 4000 MILES. IT'S VERY CONCERNING THE CAR JUST SHUTS OFF/TURNS OFF ALL OF A SUDDEN WITHOUT ANY WARNING. AND IF IT DOES BURN THROUGH ITS SYNTHETIC ENGINE OIL IN JUST 4000 MILES IT SEEMS THERE IS SOMETHING REALLY WRONG. ALSO, I DON'T KNOW IF THIS CORRELATES WITH THE PROBLEM BUT WHEN I MAKE A TURN I HEAR A "BING" SOUND WHICH MAKES ME LOOK AT THE DASHBOARD TO SEE IF A LIGHT CAME ON BUT THERE IS NOTHING THERE. THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING AND I'M HEARING IT AGAIN THIS TIME AROUND. I HAD THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN TO ME 6-7 TIMES (SOMETIMES 2 TIMES IN 1 DAY) IN THE LAST 4 DAYS. THIS HAS ME SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR AROUND. I WAS RESEARCHING ONLINE AND I SAW OTHERS ARE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEM SO I THOUGH I WOULD REPORT THIS TOO. MANY CHEROKEE OWNERS 2019 ARE COMPLAINING IN ALL FORUMS THAT TAILLIGHTS GET WET WITH SIMPLE RAIN. IF YOU ALL DEALER THEY SAY CHRYSLER INFORMS THAT IT IS NORMAL BEHAVIOR UNLESS THEY ARE MORE THAN 24 HRS AFTER WET. WHEN ASKED IF THIS WILL LEAD TO FAILURE, CORROSION, OR DAMAGE TO THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY THEY SAY ON LONG TERM YES SO THE BEST ACTION IS TO GO ON THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE TO DRY THEM. A NEW VEHICLE SHOULDNT BE HAVING THIS BEHAVIOR. THE VEHICLE IS IN NORMAL ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS. RUNNING THE VEHICLE DOES NOT MAKE THEM DRIER AND IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRY USING A RAG OR ANYTHING IN THE INSIDE.
2 WEEKS AFTER I PURCHASED VEHICLE AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE IT MADE A HORRIBLE SCREECHING NOISE LIKE IRON SCRAPPING AGAINST CONCRETE. IT CONTINUED DOING THAT AND I TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE CERAMIC BRAKES. IT CONTINUED AND HAD TO KEEP TAKING IT INTO SHOP FINALLY THEY REPLACED THE PADS AND ROTORS I PICKED IT UP ON A FRIDAY AND SUNDAY IT DID THE SAME THING. SO TOOK IT BACK AS OF 02/27/20 IT STILL MAKES THE SAME SOUND AND SOMETIMES IT WILL BRAKE AND THE CAR JERKS REAL BAD. ALSO IT ROLLS ABOUT HALF A TURN OF THE FRONT TIRE WHEN I HAVE PUT IT IN PARK WITH FOOT ON BRAKE TURN IT OFF AND TAKE MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE. I HAVE RECORDED THE NOISE IT MAKES AND VIDEOED THE TIRES ROLLING. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY THE LAST TIME IT MADE THE NOISE AND BRAKED WAS 02-12-20. BUT IT DOSE IT SO OFTEN THAT I GAVE UP RECORDING THE NOISE. INCLUDING OTHER DATES THAT IT HAS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME WAS 2 WEEKS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 07/03/19. OTHER DATES 11-25-19,12-17-19,12-22-19-TWICE THAT DAY 01-04-20,01-09-20,01-10-20,01/13/20,01/15/20,01/31/20,02/12/20 THOSE ARE THE ONES I HAVE JOTTED DOWN DOSE NOT INCLUDED THE RECORDED ONES. SOMETIMES WHEN I BACK UP AND PUT CAR IN DRIVE AND TAKE MY FOOT OFF BRAKE IT WILL ROLL BEFORE I EVEN STEP ON THE GAS.
TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT PRIOR TO THE FAILURE THE KEY FOB WAS LOCKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS OPENED SHE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND SHIFTED TO REVERSE. THE REVERSE ALERT AUDIO CHIMED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY ACCELERATED IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MYRTLE BEACH JEEP CHRYSLER (785 JASON BLVD, MYRTLE BEACH, SC 29577 843-448-1191) WERE THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR DUPLICATED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT WHEN APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED THE VEHICLE WOULD LURCH FORWARD AS WELL AS WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS RELEASED AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE AS THE CONTACT NO LONGER OWNS THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,070.
MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING FREQUENT STALLING AND WILL DIE ON ME WHENEVER I MAKE AN AVERAGE TURN (LEFT OR RIGHT), OR WHENEVER THE CAR IS DECREASING ACCELERATION ON A NORMAL CITY STREET. HOWEVER, I'M EXPERIENCING THIS MOSTLY WHEN MY CAR IS STILL HEATING UP, SO AROUND THE FIRST 10MINS OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE AFTER NOT TOUCHING IT FOR 5+ HOURS. WHEN MY CAR STALLS OR SHUTS OFF, IT STILL SHOWS THAT THE ENGINE IS ON THROUGH THE START ENGINE BUTTON. HOWEVER, I STILL NEED TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK, AND PRESS THE START ENGINE BUTTON AGAIN WHILE PRESSING ON THE GAS TO TURN ON MY CAR AGAIN. WHEN I DO THIS, THE CAR OCCASIONALLY WILL STRUGGLE TO TURN ON AND SOMETIMES IT WON'T START UP ON THE FIRST TRY. IN ADDITION, I EXPERIENCE MY CAR SOUNDING AN ALERT NOISE OCCASIONALLY WHENEVER I'M MAKING A NORMAL TURN (WHEN MY CAR IS FULLY HEATED UP), BUT MY CAR DOESN'T STALL OR SHUT OFF. ANOTHER ISSUE THAT MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING IS I CAN TELL THAT MY CAR IS OCCASIONALLY STRUGGLING TO SWITCH GEARS WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE DURING WHILE MY CAR IS IN AUTO MODE. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR MODEL BACK IN 2018 FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE ON THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, MY CAR WAS NEVER RECALLED AND IT WAS NEVER SERVICED FOR ANYTHING SIMILAR TO THE RECALL.
THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS EVERY MONTH. DEALERS ARE CRAP BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHY!I NEED HELP.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ONE NIGHT AND ALL THE DASH LIGHTS COME ON AND THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO ATTEMPT TO PULL OVER AND SWITCH THE KEY OFF AND BACK ON TO RESTART THE ENGINE. I ALSO HAVE BEEN AT A STOP MULTIPLE TIMES AND TURN OUT INTO THE ROAD AND MY VEHICLE WON'T GO, WHICH COULD RESULT IN ME GETTING HIT. I ALSO HAD MY RECALL 'FIXED' FOR THE POWER TRAIN, WENT BACK BECAUSE I RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER SAYING IT WAS POSSIBLY NOT FIXED AND IT STILL TELLS ME THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED ON MY VEHICLE. I CANNOT USE CRUISE CONTROL ON MY VEHICLE BECAUSE WHEN IT GOES DOWN THE SLIGHTEST HILL, CURVE, WHATEVER, THE RPMS GO ALL THE WAY UP AND JUST SIT THERE, EVEN WHEN I HAVE TURNED OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL AND BRAKED IT STILL STAYS SHIFTED UP FOR A LONG TIME. I REGRET PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY WITH A BABY ON THE WAY ANY DAY NOW AND HER SAFETY BEING AT RISK. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF FINDING ANOTHER VEHICLE.
THE PROBLEM STARTED LAST WEEK, WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN MY JEEP SUDDENLY LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER INCLUDING THE POWER STEERING. AFTER I PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES IT STARTED BACK UP WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENTS. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON A SNOW DAY ON MY MORNING COMMUTE TO WORK, HAD I TAKEN A BUSIER ROUTE IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE SAME THING REPEATED THE FOLLOWING DAY MINUS THE SNOWY CONDITIONS. I SCHEDULE MY CAR FOR SERVICE WHERE I BOUGHT IT AS SOON AS I WAS ABLE TO TAKE IT. WHEN I ARRIVED TO THE DEALER I SPOKE TO A SERVICE ADVISER AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD TRANSPIRED. HE QUICKLY RECOGNIZED THE PROBLEM, AND ASKED A VERY SPECIFIC QUESTION. HE ASKED IF THE CAR DIED OUT WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN WHICH WAS THE CASE BOTH INCIDENTS. HE WENT ON TO SAY THAT IT HAPPENED TO THAT MODEL AND ENGINE IF THEY OIL GETS LOW. I WAS ASTOUNDED AS I WAS NOT DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE FOR AROUND 1,000 MILES. CLEARLY JEEP IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE WHICH SEEMS TO BE OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW. I UNDERSTAND HOW RECALLS WORK AND I AM LEFT TO ASSUME THAT THEY HAVE DECIDED AGAINST IT AS AN OIL CHANGE CAN BE A TEMPORARY FIX AND A ENGINE REPLACEMENT WOULD BE COSTLY AND TIME CONSUMING.
WHILE DRIVING MY JEEP ITS COMPLETELY STALLED OUT LOOSING POWER STEERING AND ELECTRICAL , HAD TO MANUALLY GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. A PREVIOUS RECALL UA9 HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT MY VIN DOESN'T MATCH EVEN THOUGH IT DID THE SAME THING.
DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, REALLY ANYTHING ABOUT 50MPH UP TO ABOUT 80MPH, I FEEL THE WHEEL STICK WHEN I TRY TO CORRECT THE WHEEL TO STAY GOING STRAIGHT. EVEN WHEN GOING AROUND CURVES ON THE HIGHWAYS I CAN FEEL THE STICK AND IT'S FRIGHTENING SOMETIMES. TRYING TO EXPLAIN IT AT THE DEALERSHIP TO HELP THEM UNDERSTAND HE HARD AND HAVING THEM FEEL IT MIGHT BE HARDER WITHOUT HIGHWAY AROUND HERE TO GET IT UP TO THOSE SPEEDS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THIS HAS HAPPENED BY THE WAY MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE LAST 10000 MILES.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 55 MPH GOING DOWNHILL THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED, THE RPM REVVED UP AND THE VEHICLE SPED UP TO 70 MPH. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (RAMEY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM 127 FRAZIER DR, PRINCETON, WV 24739, (888) 794-4317, AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE PERFORMED AS INTENDED. A CONVERSATION BETWEEN THE MANUFACTURER AND THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE COMING TO A STOP. VEHICLE STRUGGLES TO RESTART ONCE IT'S OFF
I WAS WAITING AT A RED STOP LIGHT IN MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE 4X4, 2.0 L TURBO, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY BATTERY LIGHT ON THE DASH ILLUMINATED. I LOOKED AT MY PUSH BUTTON START SWITCH AND IT SAID "RUN". THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THE CAR WAS DEAD. CARS BEHIND ME START HONKING THEIR HORN. I PUT ON MY HAZARDS AND PUT MY ARMS UP IN THE AIR. I THEN MOVED THE GEAR SELECTOR TO "N" AND PUSHED THE START SWITCH. THE SWITCH TOGGLES FROM "RUN" TO "OFF". SO, I HIT THE BUTTON AGAIN AND THE CAR STARTS. I MOVE THE TRANSMISSION INTO "D", BUT THE CAR JUST REVS LIKE IT IS STILL IN NEUTRAL. I MOVE SELECTOR TO PARK AND THEN BACK TO "D". THEN THE CAR THEN ALLOWS ME TO TAKE OFF. HOWEVER, I WAS STUCK IN TRAFFIC FOR A WHOLE LIGHT CYCLE AND HAD MANY PEOPLE WONDERING WHAT I WAS DOING. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THE CAR STOPPED WORKING. MY CAR HAS ABOUT 13,500 MILES ON IT.
I BOUGHT THIS JEEP WITH 8 MILES ON IT. AT ABOUT 5,500 MILES WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT THE STEERING SEEMS TO ALMOST HAVE A DEAD SPOT WHERE IT FEELS LIKE THERE IS LOSS OF CONTROL TO THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS REPEATEDLY CAUSING POSSIBLE OVER CORRECT TRYING TO DETERMINE IF YOU HAVE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE OR NOT. DEALER HAS BEEN CALLED AND AWAITING TO HEAR BACK. MY FIRST EVER JEEP PURCHASE.
EVER SINCE I PURCHASE THE VEHICLE IT WILL PULL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. WHEN TRYING TO CORRECT THE POSITION OF THE STEERING WHEEL I FEEL RESISTANCE UNTIL IT GIVES AND JERKS IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IS GETTING STUCK AND THEN COMES LOOSE. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND IS VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN GOING AROUND 35-55MPH. WHEN AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED IT IS AS THOUGH THE MOMENTUM OF THE VEHICLE IS HELPING IT STAY STRAIGHT BUT IT WILL STILL DO IT.
JEEP ONLY HAS 30000 MILES. BOUGHT BRAND NEW. CAR RECENTLY STARTED STALLING WHEN SLOWING DOWN. APPARENTLY JEEP DESIGNED THE ENGINE TO STALL WITH LOW OIL. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THAT THE 4 CYLINDER JEEP CONSUMES MORE OIL AND AN OIL CHANGE WILL NEED TO BE EVERY 3000 MILES ON A BRAND NEW CAR. THERE IS A LARGE AMOUNT OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER PEOPLE ONLINE AND EVENTUALLY LEADS TO AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT. NOT ONLY IS THE OIL CONSUMPTION OUTRAGEOUS FOR A NEW CAR BUT THE STALLING IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE AS WE HAVE AN 11 MONTH OLD.
RENTED A VEHICLE FROM ENTERPRISE A JEEP CHEROKEE 2019 WITH ONLY 18,620 MILES. DRIVING NORTH FROM FORT LAUDERDALE TO DAYTONA. AFTER 3HRS ON THE ROAD THE CAR HAD AN ENGINE EXPLOSION. ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME STARTS SIGNALING ME AN TELLS ME THE CAR WAS ON FIRE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND GET OFF THE CAR, SAW LIVE FLAME GOING UNDER THE HOOD. PULLED ALL MY BELONGINGS OUT AND IN MATTER OF MINUTES THE WHOLE VEHICLE WAS BURNED.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH at night, the headlights turned off momentarily. Additionally, the contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the instrument panel and the infotainment system screen display turned on after 15 seconds. The contact also stated that the instrument panel and the infotainment system screen display were turning off intermittently while driving. The contact stated that the forward collision system chime failed to engage while there was another vehicle in the rear proximity of the vehicle; however, the forward collision avoidance system chime engaged while driving by another vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the vehicle made an abnormal clunking sound while shifting into 2nd gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 350.

2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED 2.4L TURBO. DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY ACCELERATE, RPM'S WILL INCREASE BY 2000 AND WILL NOT SLOW DOWN UNTIL CRUISE IS DISENGAGED. ALSO WHILE DRIVING IN CITY IN SURFACE ROADS WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL, THE CAR WILL JUST STOP ACCELERATING EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE DEPRESSING GAS PEDAL. CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE ENGINE STILL RUNNING. HAD TO TURN OFF CAR AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CANE ON WHEN CAR WAS RESTARTED WITH MESSAGE OF "CHECK THROTTLE CONTROL SENSOR". LIGHT WENT OFF BEFORE I COULD GET IT TO DEALER. DEALER SAID THE COULD NOT FIND A CODE OR DUPLICATE PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THE LAST TIME ON 1/11/2020

I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF FOR 15 SECONDS THEN TURN THE KEY TO START IT AGAIN AND THE CAR WILL CRANK OVER VERY SLOWLY AND SPUTTER FOR ABOUT 4 SECOND BEFORE STARTING AGAIN. MAKING SMALL WHEEL ADJUSTMENTS WITHIN YOUR OWN LANE, IT ALMOST FEELS AS IF YOUR TIRES BREAK LOOSE, BUT ON DRY PAVEMENT. WHEN THE STEERING THEN CATCHES, IT CAN CAUSE A SMALL JERK. PREVIOUSLY, I REPORTED ISSUES WITH OIL CONSUMPTION, WHICH EVENTUALLY REQUIRED AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT. I NOW HAVE AN ISSUE WITH STEERING WHEEL, FEELS LIKE IT IS TRYING TO CORRECT ITSELF WHEN DRIVING REGULAR STREETS AND HIGHWAY WITH NO ISSUES OF ALIGNMENT, TIRES, ETC. APPT WITH NAPLETON'S ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ON 1/23/2020 DID NOT MENTION ANYTHING THAT WAS DONE TO LOOK FOR ISSUE, OTHER THAN RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATE OF 18VA9182, WHICH THEY SAID WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. IN ADDITION, I JUST RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM FCA, STATING THAT WHEN I HAD TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN FOR RECALL #18V739, THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PROPERLY INSPECTED AND THE RECALL WAS CLOSED. I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP THIS WAS DONE COMPLETED AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO THE UPDATE, HOWEVER, THEY HAD NOT COMPLETED THE CORRECT ONE, AND THE PROBLEM WITH STEERING STILL PERSISTS. I AM WORRIED THIS ISSUE IS A SAFETY CONCERN, AND WOULD LIKE TO BE CONTACTED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM ADDRESSED.

I PURCHASED A NEW 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE ON 6/29/19 WITH LESS THAN 5 MILES ON ODOMETER. ON 9/7/19 (LESS THAN 1K MILES), I STARTED CAR, DROVE HALFWAY DOWN BLOCK AND THE STEERING COMPLETELY LOCKED. POWER STEERING LIGHT WENT ON AND CAR WAS NOT DRIVABLE. CALLED DEALERSHIP, WHO WAS VERY ACCOMMODATING, AND THEY TOWED THE CAR AND GAVE US A LOANER. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO COME UP WITH A SOLUTION SO THEY OPENED A CASE WITH CHRYSLER. AFTER THREE WEEKS, THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN WAS REPLACED, WHICH SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE IN ITSELF SO I DID NOT TAKE THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY OR ON LONG TRIPS. FOR THE FIRST COUPLE OF WEEKS, THE REPAIR SEEMED FINE, BUT THEN THE STEERING COLUMN/WHEELS STARTED MAKING LOUD GRINDING NOISES AND THUMPS WHILE PARKING AND PULLING OUT OF PARKING SPACES. NOW IT IS HAPPENING WHILE I AM DRIVING, LOUDER AND LASTING LONGER. I HAVE HAD TWO SCARY INSTANCES OF STEERING/WHEELS GRINDING, THUMPING, LOCKING WHILE CHANGING LANES AND I HAVE NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING FOR 10-20 SEC. IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY (12/30/19) WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT. THE STEERING LOCKED WHILE I MADE A SLIGHT TURN GOING APPROX 5MPH, AND THE GRINDING/THUMPING WAS SO LOUD AND STRONG THAT IT FELT LIKE THE WHOLE FRONT END OF THE CAR WAS GOING TO FALL OFF. THIS LASTED LONGER, AROUND 20SEC, AND THEN THE CAR JUST DROVE COMPLETELY NORMAL. I HAVE ALSO HAD MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF FEELING THAT I HAVE ZERO CONTROL OF THE STEERING AND THAT MY WHEELS ARE NOT ON THE ROAD. NO NOISE, NO LOCKING UP, JUST NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AT ALL. THIS IS MY THIRD 4X4 AND MY SECOND JEEP, SO I AM WELL AWARE OF HOW TO DRIVE THE CAR AND HOW IT SHOULD HANDLE. THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND, QUITE HONESTLY, I FEEL LIKE THIS CAR IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE. TAKING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW SO THEIR REPAIR DEPT CAN TROUBLESHOOT. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES THE VEHICLE APPEARS TO GET A "DEAD SPOT" IN THE STEERING. WHEN I MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL ABOUT 1/4" TO THE LEFT OR THE RIGHT IT FEELS LIKE IT IS CATCHING ON SOMETHING. I DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND AFTER ABOUT 6 HOURS THEY CALLED AND TOLD ME IT WAS FIXED. THEY SAID THERE WAS JUST AN UPDATE THAT NEEDED DONE ON THE STEERING. I WILL BE PICKING IT UP LATER AND WILL SEE IF IT IS CORRECTED. VEHICLE HAS 28K MILES ON IT.
WHILE DRIVING THE SUV SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY. NO ENGINE POWER, NO LIGHTS, NO STEERING. THIS HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES LEAVING THE SUV IN THE DARK WITH NO LIGHTS WITH CHILDREN INT HE CAR. VERY DANGEROUS AND IT IS NOT EASY TO RESTART . I WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR A REDLIGHT THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND MY CAR TURNED OFF CAUSING DRIVER BEHIND ME TO ALMOST HIT ME I WAS PANICKED. THIS HAPPENED MANY TIMES MORE AND I CONTACTED JEEP DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO CHANGE MY OIL AND IT WONT HAPPEN AGAIN. TO HAVE A CAR SHUT OFF INSTEAD OF AN OIL WARNING LIGHT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHY NOT USE THE LIGHT IT CAME WITH. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BY A TECHNICIAN WHO WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALLS OR A FIX FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED NOR NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
I WAS IN AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH AND AFTER IT WAS FINISHED MY JEEP WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTO DRIVE FROM NEUTRAL. I HAD THE AUTOMATIC ENGINE SHUT DOWN TURNED OFF. I TRIED MULTIPLE TIME FROM SHIFTING FROM NEUTRAL INTO DRIVE. I ALSO RESTARTED MY JEEP TWICE AND ON THE SECOND TIME IT STARTED AND I COULD DRIVE AWAY.
ON DEC 19TH OF 2019 I WAS LEAVING WORK WHEN I MADE A RIGHT TURN DURING BUSY TRAFFIC WHEN MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE SUDDENLY STALLED ON ME. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR. THE CAR DID TURN BACK ON. AFTER SPEAKING WITH MY LOCAL DEALER, THEY TOLD ME THAT THE CAR WAS ALMOST OUT OF OIL HOWEVER NO LIGHT WAS ON THEN OR AT THE TIME OF THE STALL. I WAS INFORMED THIS IS A 'SAFETY' FEATURE TO PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM HURTING ITSELF IF THE OIL GETS TOO LOW. AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WAS STARTED. THE CAR ONLY HAD 12590 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THIS IS ALSO THE SECOND OIL TEST THAT HAS BEEN DONE THE FIRST ONE WAS DONE BACK IN MAY OF 2019 WHEN THE CAR WAS AT AROUND 6000 MILES.
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS 60-75, WHILE MAKING SMALL CORRECTIONS WHILE DRIVING STEERING BECOMES SLIGHTLY TIGHT AND THEN STEERING GIVES IN AND JERKS. TIGHTNESS AND JERK HAPPENS IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. HAPPENS IN EVERY DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ONLY.
ENGINE IS SHUTTING OFF FOR NO REASON. DEALER SAYS IT IS LOW OIL SENSOR SHUTTING IT DOWN. FIRST TIME THE DEALER JUST FILLED IT WITH OIL. THE SECOND TIME I BROUGHT IT IN THEY PRETENDED NOT TO REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED AND CLAIMED TO HAVE NO PAPERWORK ON IT AS THEY CLAIMED THEY JUST TOPPED IT OFF WITH OIL. I SIGNED IN ON THEIR COMPUTER SO THEY MUST HAVE THE RECORDS OF ME BEING THERE, THEY GAVE ME NO PAPERWORK THE SECOND TIME JUST TOLD ME TO DRIVE 1000 MILES AND THEY WOULD RECHECK THE OIL.
THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES TO MY VEHICLE. IT FIRST HAPPENED AT ROUGHLY 6,000 MILES AND IS NOW HAPPENING AGAIN AT 12,000 MILES. EACH TIME, WHEN I WAS COMING DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THE VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS I COME TO A STOP. SOMETIMES IT WILL RESTART, BUT OTHER TIMES I HAVE TO JUMP IT. THIS WILL HAPPEN AT A COMPLETE STOP AS I'M TRYING TO GET GOING AGAIN OR AS A I AM SLOWING TO A STOP. IT WILL HAPPEN ON ANY ROAD AT ANY TIME WHETHER GOING STRAIGHT OR TURNING.
I HAVE HAD MY CAR SINCE AUGUST 2018. SINCE JUNE, THE CAR HAS RANDOMLY STOPPED OPERATING WHILE I AM DRIVING. IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND IF I AM ON A HILL BEGIN TO DRIFT BACKWARDS UNTIL I AM ABLE TO GET THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT HAS HAPPENED IN BUSY INTERSECTIONS AND HIGHWAYS. MY CAR HAS TURNED OFF WHILE MAKING TURNS AND WHILE ACCELERATING UP HILLS. SOMETIMES THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH ALL TURN ON AND OTHER TIMES IT IS JUST ONE LIGHT (SUCH AS THE BATTERY LIGHT). IN JUNE 2019, I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY SAID MY CAR NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE AND THERE WAS A SENSOR THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED THAT CAUSED THE CAR TO THINK THEIR WASN'T ENOUGH OIL. THEN, IN SEPTEMBER 2019, IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I WAS STILL APPROXIMATELY 500 MILES FROM MY NEXT OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ISSUE OF MY CAR STOPPING IN TRAFFIC WAS DUE TO "DIRTY OIL." IN DECEMBER 2019, THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN. I AM STILL 1745 MILES AWAY FROM MY NEXT OIL CHANGE. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THAT THEY NEEDED TO CHANGE THE OIL IN ORDER TO DO AN OIL PRESSURE TEST. I ASKED THEM TO FIX THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM BECAUSE MY CAR IS STOPPING REPEATEDLY AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY VEHICLE. IT IS A HAZARD TO MYSELF AND OTHERS AS I LIVE IN A DENSELY POPULATED AREA. THE DEALERSHIP HAS DONE AN OIL CHANGE AND CHECKED THE PRESSURE AND ASKED THAT I BRING IT BACK AT 1,000 MILES. THE DEALER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET AND WAS AN HOUR AWAY FROM THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURES ONLINE AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME MATTER. THE VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL TO REPROGRAM THE POWER MODULES, WHICH WAS WHEN THE RECENT FAILURES BEGAN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
