TRANSMISSION JERKS FROM 1ST TO 3RD GEAR, GIVES YOU WIPE LASH,
REAR BRAKES HAVE LOCKED UP FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES THE RECALL IS COATING ON PISTON INSIDE OF CALIPER THE FCA FIX IS BLEEDING THE BRAKES INSTEAD OF REPLACING THEY DEFECTED COATED PISTON IN THE CALIPER I TOOK IT BACK TWO WEEKS AFTER I HAD IT THEY DON'T RECALL A MONTH LATER IT LOCKED UP AGAIN 5 MONTHS LATER IT LOCKED UP AGAIN AND THREE WEEKS AGO IT LOCKED UP AGAIN THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY CAN'T FIX IT IT LOCKED UP DOING ABOUT 30 ON THE HIGHWAY PARK BRAKE IT LOCKED UP BACKING UP OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY IT LOCKED UP TURNING RIGHT INTO A BROOKSHIRE'S AND IT LOCKED UP AT THE FOOTBALL FIELD PARKING LOT
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the steering wheel was pulling to the right and the left. The contact stated that the movement was very slight; however, the failure required corrective steering to maintain the position in the lane. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
WHILE I AM IN MOVEMENT DRIVING MY VEHICLE. WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHTS POPPING UP IN MY DASHBOARD. MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPS. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY AND A SEMI TRUCK WAS DRIVING BEHIND ME. I HIT MY BRAKES FAST ENOUGH SO THAT THE SEMI TRUCK COULD REACT IN TIME, BUT OTHERWISE I COULD IT HAVE GOTTEN IMPACTED FROM THE BACK WHICH I AM SURE. IT WOULD IT HAVE CAUSE MORE THAN JUST AND ACCIDENT. THE DATE THIS HAPPENED I NOTICED THE CAR KIND OF SLOWED DOWN ITS VELOCITY FAST AND DRAMATICALLY WHEN IT STOP. IT WAS STILL RUNNING, NO SMOKE OR ANYTHING COMING OUT OF THE HOOD. I DID NOTICED THAT THE HEATER FELT EXTREMELY HOT MORE THAN NORMAL WHICH IT ALSO MADE ME PANIC A BIT. SHE SHIFT GEAR I WASN'T ABLE YO MOVE IT AT ALL. THEY HAD ADVISED ME AT THE DEALERSHIP ONE OF THE MECHANICS THAT SOMETIMES, IF THIS HAPPENED; TO TURN THE CAR OFF FOR 10 MINS AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON. I DID THAT, THAT NIGHT AND WHEN THE CAR TURN BACK OF THE STABILITY LIGH WARNING CAME ON, THE BRAKES LIGHT CAME ON, THE ENGINE LIGH CAME ON, THE EMERGENCY PARKING LIGHT CAME ON, BUT THIS THIS I WAS WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE SHIFT STICK BUT I COULD ONLY DRIVE FORWARD. I TRIED TO REVERSE AND GO BACK BUT IT WASN'T LETTING ME. MY SENSORS WERE BEEPING AS IF I WAS NEAR OR CLOSE TO HITTING SOMETHING. WHEN MY CAR WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE HIGHWAY. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I NOTICED WHILE SEATING IN MY CAR. THIS NORMALLY HAPPENS TO MY SUV WHEN IT'S VERY COLD OUTSIDE. WE ARE TALKING -4 DEGREES, BUT I AM SURPRISED BECAUSE THIS IS A 2019 VEHICLE THAT I HAVE AND I HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR 5 MONTHS. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN FOR SERVICE 4 TMES AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIX THE ISSUE BUT NOW IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THAT VEHICLE. A VEHICLE THAT STOPS OUT OF NOWHERE, DEFINITELY NOT SAFE. I AM NOT ONLY PUTTING MYSELF IN DANGER, BUT I FEEL LIKE I AM PUTTING EVERYONE AROUND ME DRIVING IN DANGER.
CAR WILL STALL WHILE IN MOTION AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE A NEW CAR STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE NO
THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY. IT LAGS TERRIBLY. IT DOES NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. IT JERKS AND THE TRANSMISSION GRINDS. THE BRAKES MAKE STRANGE NOISES WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND IT DOESN'T STOP AS QUICKLY AS IT SHOULD. THE RADIO OVERHEATS AND THE USB PORTS STOP WORKING RANDOMLY. THE VEHICLE CUT OFF ON A MAJOR HWY AT ONE POINT. SEVERAL COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE DEALER AND IT HAS BEEN SERVICED MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT'S NOT CORRECTING THE PROBLEM. IT'S A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AND STARTED HAVING ISSUES NOT LONG AFTER IT WAS PURCHASED. THE DEALER KEEPS RE-FLASHING THE TRANSMISSION AND IT'S NOT FIXING THE PROBLEMS THIS VEHICLE HAS. CHRYSLER WON'T DO ANYTHING FOR US BECAUSE THEY SAY THERE ARE NO CODES ON THE VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY AND IT'S NOT EVEN SAFE TO DRIVE. WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO KEEP A VEHICLE THAT WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW AND IT HAS HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. THE MECHANIC EVEN ADMITTED IT LAGS BUT STATED "IT'S NOT THAT BAD." THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. NO BRAND NEW VEHICLE SHOULD LAG AT ALL OR HAVE ANY OF THESE OTHER ISSUES FOR THAT MATTER!
TRANSMISSION HAS PLAY. WHEN WE PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK IT ROLLS AT LEAST 7 INCHES MORE.
WAS AT A 4 WAY STOP SIGN GETTING READY TO PULL OFF WHEN VEHICLE STOP WORKING. TRIED TO RECRANK THE VEHICLE BUT IT TOOK 5 MINUTES TO START AGAIN. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF LATER VEHICLE STARTED HAVING ISSUES AGAIN. VEHICLE STARTED TO STALL AND HAVE A VERY SLOW TAKE OFF. TAKE OFF WAS SO SLOW UNTIL I HAD TO SIT 15 MINUTES BEFORE TAKE OFF.
TRANSMISSION HAS SERIOUS DELAY IN DOWNSHIFTING WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS PEDDLE WHEN YOU NEED TO SPEED UP FOR ANY REASON ESPECIALLY TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS IS ALL THE TIME WEATHER IN CITY OR HIGHWAY. IT SEEMS THE TRANSMISSION CAN'T MAKE ITS MIND UP ON WHAT TO DO AND WHAT GEAR TO DOWNSHIFT TO.
THE RADIO VOLUME CONTINUALLY FADES IN AND OUT ALL OF THE TIME. MANY 2019 OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. FACTORY ISSUE.
THE FM RADIO STATIONS GO IN AND OUT, IT ONLY HAPPENS IN THE RADIO MODE. IT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR DRIVING OR NOT.
THERE IS A DELAMINATION OF THE WINDSHEILD ON THE EDGES CAUSING REDUCED VISIBILITY BLURRING AND DISTORTING OBJECTS IN VIEW. THUS HAS BEEN SEEN ON 3 2019 JEEP CHEROKEES PRODUCED IN LATE 2018.
MY CAR CONTINUES TO STALL INTERMITTENTLY. I RECEIVED MY CAR BACK FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON 31-OCT-2019. LATER THAT DAY, ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK, MY CAR STALLED GOING APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES PER HOUR. THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND CAME TO A STOP ON THE 405 FREEWAY. I WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, WHICH MAY HAVE SAVED MY LIFE SINCE OTHER VEHICLES WERE DRIVING SLOW AND AT TIMES STOPPED. THIS ALLOWED ME SOME TIME WHILE I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT RE-STARTED AND I MADE IT HOME.
CAR WILL ABRUPTLY STOP WITH NO WARNING THEN BATTERY LIGHT WILL TURN ON. CANNOT ALWAYS GET CAR TO CRANK BACK OVER QUICKLY.
WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR, IN THE FAST LANE TRAVELING AT 70 MPHS, THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. IT WAS LEFT COSTING AND SLOWING IN SPEED. NO STEERING OR BREAKING WERE EFFECTED. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE THE THE ENGINE DID RESTART WHILE IN LOW SPEED (30MPH) AND CREEPING ALONG THE BREAK DOWN LANE THE ENGINE WAS 3RPMS AND SHUT OFF AGAIN. NEEDING TOWING AND IS CURRENTLY IN FOR REPAIR. 1900 MILES TO THE VEHICLE.
MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE WAS JUST EXITING THE INTERSTATE AND APPROACHED A LIGHT ON THE OFF RAMP. UPON STOPPING AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE MY JEEP BEGAN BEEPING AND THE "DRIVE (D)" STARTED BLINKING ON THE DASH AND GEAR. DURING THIS TIME MY VEHICLE WOULD ROLL BACKWARDS TO THE OFF RAMP UNLESS THE EMERGENCY BREAK WAS ENGAGED. I WAS NOT ABLE TO PRESS THE GAS, SHIFTING INTO OTHER GEARS DID NOT DO ANYTHING AND THE BREAKS WERE LOCKED OUT. I WAS SITTING IN THE BIKE LANE BLOCKING TRAFFIC AND HOPING TO NOT GET HIT. I WAS ABLE TO ROLL DOWNHILL ABOUT 50FT AND STEER ONTO A SIDE STREET. ONCE THERE I AGAIN TRIED TO SHIFT TO DIFFERENT GEARS AND NOTHING SEEMED TO WORK. AS MENTIONED MY BREAKS WERE LOCKED AND THE GAS PEDAL WAS OUT OF SERVICE. FINALLY, AFTER EXITING THE MAJOR INTERSECTION I TRIED TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND IT SEEMED TO CLEAR THE ERROR. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP FOR THIS PROBLEM. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS THOUGH. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED SECONDS BEFORE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATHS COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE PARK/NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH.
I HAVE A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE WITH 4,800 MILES. PERIODICALLY WHILE DRIVING, THE BATTERY/VOLTAGE INDICATOR COMES ON AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. IT HAS BEEN VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED ON SLOWER, CITY STREETS SO FAR. THE CAR RESTARTS AFTER ITS PUT IN PARK. ITS AT THE DEALER, BUT NO LUCK FINDING A CAUSE YET. I HAVE ATTACHED A PHOTO OF WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE WHEN IT LAST OCCURED.
WHILE STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN, THE D ON THE GEAR SHIFT STARTED FLASHING. I LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. I HAD TO STOP, TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT. UPON TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT DIDN'T THROW ANY CODES AND TO BRING IT BACK IT IF HAPPENS AGAIN.
2019 JEEP CHEROKEE WITH ABOUT 2000 MILES ON IT SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH TWICE NOW. AFTER PUTTING IT IN PARK AND A FEW TRIES AT RESTARTING THE CAR RAN OK. THIS OCCURRED ON 10/17/18 AND 10/19/18 WITHIN A HALF MILE FROM HOME AFTER STARTING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE MORNING. WEATHER CONDITION WAS APPROXIMATELY 70 AND SUNNY AFTER OVERNIGHT TEMPS OF ONLY LOW 60'S. LOOKING ONLINE AT COMPLAINTS, THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING WITH NO REAL REMEDY FROM DEALERSHIPS. I TOO HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND HOPE THEY FIND A ISSUE THAT CAN BE FIXED.
WHEN TURNING AROUND THE VEHICLE MAKES A WEIRD NOISE AND THE BRAKES ARE NOT STABLE WHILE TRYING TO BRAKE IT DOESN'T RESPOND IMMEDIATELY PULLING FORWARD THE CAR.
WHILE VEHICLE IN MOTION, CHARGING SYSTEM/BATTERY WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF THIS INCIDENT, TIRE PRESSURE/RUN FLAT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. RECOMMENDED PRESSURE OF 36 PSI INCORRECT. RECEIVED 2 RECALL NOTIFICATIONS ON APP AND EMAIL. THEN BOTH RECALLS DISAPPEARED.
VEHICLE WAS LEASED ON 10/5/18. ON 10/13/18 WITH 342 MILES WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY TOWARDS THE MOUNTAINS AND MAKING A TURN INTO AN EXIT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND STEERING WHEEL SERVICE LIGHT WENT ON. THE CAR ALMOST SMASHED INTO THE SIDEWALL. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE IN TIME TO AVOID ANY ACCIDENTS. THERE WAS ALSO BURNED SMELL COMING OUT OF THE HOOD. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED ME THAT THEY HAVE NO AVAILABLE LOAN CARS AT THE MOMENT AND TO REACH OUT TO CHRYSLER CORP. I HAVE STILL HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP NOR THE CASE MANAGER FROM CHRYSLER CORPORATION. I HAVE MADE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO REACH TO SOMEONE WITH NO LUCK. I AM SURPRISED AT THE WAY THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I LEASED THE CAR, THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS LEFT FOR DIAGNOSES AND THE CHRYSLER CORP IS HANDLING THIS ISSUE.
THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 40 MILES PER HOUR. THE CAR HAD 972 MILES ON IT, AND WAS PURCHASED NEW A FEW WEEKS AGO. *DT CONSUMER STATED CAR IS NOT REPAIRED AND THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. UPDATED 11/30/18*JB
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS MERGING INTO THE TURNING LANE IN BUSY TRAFFIC. AS I WAS APPLYING BRAKES AND COMING TO A LOW SPEED THE VOLTAGE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE JEEP COMPLETELY STALLED AND LOST ALL DRIVABILITY. NO OTHER LIGHTS OR ANYTHING WAS IN THE DASH JUST THE VOLTAGE. I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND MANAGED TO GET IT BACK STARTED BEFORE GETTING HIT IN A BUSY INTERSECTION.
DRIVING THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE BUILDING UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGE THE VEHICLE STOPPED MOVING SUDDENLY AND STARTING GOING BACKWARD I PUT THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON RESTARTED THE ENGINE RELEASED THE BREAK BUT IT DIDN'T RESPOND SO I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST PARKING SPACE IN THE PARKING LOT TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE WOULD START BUT BOTH BREAKING SYSTEM IS ON AND WOULDN'T RELEASEAND STEERING WHEEL IS NOT TURNING. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY GAVE ME THE NUMBER FOR THE JEEP TOWING SERVICE. THE VEHICLE WENT IN TO THE DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE TOLD ME THE ALTERNATOR IS OVER CHARGING AND NEEDS A NEW PART THEY REPLACED THE PART THEY THEN INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT WORKING STILL AND THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT'S WRONG YET.
BRAKES WERE STUCK ON AND ALSO THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY. CAR WOULD ONLY GO AROUND 30 MPH HAD TO PARK THE VEHICLE AND GET IT TOWED EVEN THOUGH THIS IS BRAND NEW!
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RE-START THE ENGINE. TWO TIMES WHEN IT HAPPENED, I WASN'T GOING FAST ENOUGH TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER, SO HAD TO START THE VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. VEHICLE HAS A HARD TIME STARTING ONCE STALLED. SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME OIL WAS LOW, VEHICLE WASN'T DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE YET. NO WARNINGS OR INDICATOR LIGHTS THAT OIL LEVEL WAS LOW. SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID TO CHECK OIL EVERY 1000 MILES, ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. SAID THIS ENGINE USES A LOT OF OIL. I'M CONCERNED AT PULLING ONTO A BUSY ROAD OR INTO TRAFFIC AND HAVING VEHICLE DIE ON ME AND GETTING HIT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND DROVE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,900.
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET, THE CARS TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE RPM WOULD INCREASE TO AS MUCH AS 5500 RPM DURING DECELERATION. SPEED WOULD FLUCTUATE AS MUCH AS 12 MPH (INCREASE OR DECREASE FROM SET CRUISE SPEED). DEALERSHIP HAS HAD VEHICLE IN THEIR POSSESSION FOR TWO MONTHS AND STILL HAS TWO OPEN RECALLS THAT HAVE BEEN UNRESOLVED. DEALERSHIP HAS FAILED TO FIX OR REPLACE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE TURNING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RED RIVER DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP (1060 HEBER SPRINGS RD, HEBER SPRINGS, AR 72543, (501) 362-5831) AND THEY FOUND NO FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD WAIT UNTIL THEY HEARD BACK FROM THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 280.
THE CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS. THE ENGINE WILL ATOP COMPLETELY AND THE CAR ROLLS BACK OR BEGINS TO DRIVE BACKWARDS WHEN IT'S RESTARTED. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN AS I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT 4 TIMES NOW DUE TO THE CAR STALKING IN ATOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND ANOTHER TIME WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. ALSO, THE CAR APPEARS TO CHUG OR HESITATE TO CHANGE GEARS. IT'S IS SLOW TO PICK UP SPEED AND AT TIMES, IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE RADIO FLUCTUATES IN VOLUME LEVEL CONSTANTLY REGARDLESS OF THE PROGRAMMING AND IT'S SO BAD THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN USE IT. I'M CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF, MY CHILDREN AND OTHERS AS WELL. CHRYSLER APPEARS TO HAVE NO CONCERNS. UNLESS SOMEONE DIES, I'M AFRAID THIS ISSUE WILL NOT BE RESOLVED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE ABS MODULE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES SEIZED AND THERE WAS A TOTAL LOSS OF TRANSMISSION AND ACCELERATION POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE A CASE MANAGER WAS ASSIGNED. I LEANED MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE BACK IN SEPTEMBER 2018. A WEEK AFTER LEASING IT I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO COME TO A STOP SIGN AND IT BEEPED AT ME AND ALL THE POWER SHUT OFF IN THE JEEP. I TRIED TO HIT THE START BUTTON NOTHING. I PUT IT IN PARK AFTER FIGHTING WITH IT TO GO INTO PARK AND TRIED THE START BUTTON AGAIN. NOTHING. SO I WAITED 2 MINUTES AND TRIED AGAIN IT TURNED BACK ON AND WAS FINE FOR THE REST OF THE DRIVE. JANUARY 24 2019 I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING GARAGE AT WORK AND AFTER 4 MINUTES OF IT BEING ON IT SHUT OFF MID DRIVING. SAME THING HAPPENED IT BEEPED AND ALL POWER SHUT OFF. I PUT IT IN PARK AND HIT THE START BUTTON. NOTHING. WAITING 2 MINUTES TRIED AGAIN TURNED ON MADE IT ALL THE WAY HOME. ALSO WHEN I TURN EITHER WAY IT BEEPS AS OF A DOOR IS OPEN. NO DOOR IS OPEN CHECK REPEATEDLY. WHEN I GO OVER A SPEED BUMP IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING IS GRINDING IN THE BACK END I HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND START AGAIN AFTER THE BUMP OR THE JEEP WILL NOT MOVE. THE RADIO WILL RANDOMLY MAKE A VERY LOUD STATIC NOISE THAT IS EAR PIERCING FOR A SECOND THE IT WILL BE FINE OR IT WILL RESTART THE RADIO IT'S DIFFERENT EVERYTIME IT HAPPENS.
I WAS AT A STOP WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN, WHEN I SAW AN OPENING TO TURN I ACCELERATED, TURNED THE WHEEL AND HAD JUST BARELY CLEARED THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHEN MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND MY ENGINE CUT ENTIRELY. I COASTED THROUGH THE REST OF THE TURN WITH NO POWER JUST BARELY AVOIDING BEING HIT. I LOOKED AT THE DASH AND SAW MY BATTERY LIGHT FLASHING AND MY INFO CENTER DISPLAYING THE MESSAGE YOU SEE WHEN YOU FIRST ENTER YOUR CAR "TO START ENGINE PUT FOOT ON BRAKE AND PRESS START BUTTON" (OR SOME VARIATION OF THIS PHRASE, I CAN'T QUOTE IT VERBATIM). IT HAD STALLED. I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY IMMEDIATELY SENT SOMEONE TO PICK IT UP. I HAVE OWNED MY BRAND NEW CAR FOR 11 DAYS AND HAVE ONLY 700 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR, CANNOT RECREATE THE SITUATION AND THERE IS NO APPARENT RECALL ON MY CAR'S YEAR. THERE IS, HOWEVER; A RECALL ON THE MODEL. FCA'S ADVANCED COMMUNICATION FOR RECALL U87 ON 8/16/18 DOES LIST MY MODEL YEAR AND THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTATION FOR NHTSA'S 18V-524 DOES AS WELL. THE ACTUAL RECALL DOES NOT. I'M CONCERNED AS THIS RECALL DOCUMENTS AN ISSUE WITH THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) THAT "MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH A SUSPECT VOLTAGE REGULATOR CHIP ON THE ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT BOARD. IF THE PCM FAILS, THE CUSTOMER MAY EXPERIENCE A NO-START, A START-AND-IMMEDIATE STALL CONDITION, OR AN ENGINE STALL WHILE DRIVING". THAT IS AN EXACT QUOTE FROM THE FCA COMMUNICATION ON 8/16/18 WHICH LISTS MY MODEL & YEAR. THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO ADDRESS THIS THOUGH AS THE RECALL DOES NOT. ITS CLEAR TO ME THIS IS THE ISSUE BUT THIS SMALL EXCLUSION OF MY MODEL YEAR LEAVES MY DEALERSHIP WITH THEIR HANDS TIED AND ME WITH A POTENTIALLY UNSAFE CAR.
MY NEW CAR HAS 2,800 MILES DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT 5 MONTHS/5,000 MILES. THE ENGINE FAILED ONCE FOR NO KNOWN CAUSE AFTER 2 WEEKS IN THE REPAIR SHOP. NOW MY CAR DIED WHILE IN MOTION ON BUSY ROADS AND A HIGHWAY RAMP AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 15-40 MPH WITHOUT WARNING OR LIGHTS. THIS IS SLA SAFETY HAZARD AS THE STEERING GOES AND CAR JUST COMES TO A STOP WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I HAD IT TOWED AFTER IT'S 5TH TIME IN 4 DAYS STOPPING WHILE IN MOTION AND SHUTTING DOWN. JEEP TOLD ME IT'S EMPTY ON OIL BUT YET THE OIL LIGHT INDICATOR DOESN'T COME ON. THEY SAID IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITHOUT A FIX FOR ALL 2014-2019 JEEP CHEROKEES. THEY ARE AWARE BUT ARE NOT FIXING OR ADDRESSING THE OIL CONSUMPTION WITHOUT LIGHT ISSUE THAT PUTS DRIVERS IN MOTION AT RISK OF AN ACCIDENT OR LOSING THEIR LIFE. IF NO WARNING IS COMING ON THAT YOUR OIL IS EMPTY LONG BEFORE A DIE OIL CHANGE AND MY CAR CAN JUST DIE WHILE IN MOTION ALONG WITH OTHERS AS AGAIN THEY STATED IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE IS A ROAD HAZARD FOR ANYONE IN THESE CARS. MY CAR IS 3 MONTHS OLD AND I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING IT ON ANY ROADS FOR FEAR I WILL BE HIT BY ANOTHER DRIVER AS IT'S JUST LOSING POWER AND SHUTTING DOWN IN THE STREET IN MOTION. WHEN A PHONE CALL COMES IN THE RINGER VOLUME IS AT MAXIMUM VOLUME. THIS IS HEART STOPPING, MAKING ME JUMP. I AM FORCED TO QUICKLY TURN THE VOLUME DOWN WHICH, WHEN IN TRAFFIC, IS VERY DISTRACTING AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS. I HAVE READ ONLINE OF OTHERS HAVING THIS ISSUE, WITH NO RESOLUTION. EVEN THOUGH I TURN THE VOLUME DOWN, THE NEXT TIME THE VOLUME IS RIGHT BACK UP AT MAXIMUM. THERE IS NO WAY TO AVOID THIS. I ALSO HAVE THE ISSUE OF BLUETOOTH CALLING BEING USELESS. ALTHOUGH I CAN HEAR THE OTHER PARTY THEY CANNOT HEAR ME. THE SYSTEM ALSO MAKES A VERY LOUD POPPING STATIC NOISE WHENEVER I USE THE BLUETOOTH SYSTEM, EITHER AT THE BEGINNING OR END. I AM AFRAID THIS WILL DAMAGE MY VEHICLES SPEAKER OR STEREO SYSTEM. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE TO MY DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY WERE ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE. WE EVEN TESTED ON ANOTHER CHEROKEE AND THE ISSUE DID NOT OCCUR FOR ME IN THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALER DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT DID NOT HELP. THEN THEY WERE TOLD JEEP WAS COMING OUT WITH A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT WOULD HELP. AFTER 3 MONTHS THEY TOLD ME THE UPDATE WAS IN, SO I DROPPED MY CAR OFF AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY I WAS TOLD THAT THE UPDATE WAS CORRUPTED AND THAT JEEP INFORMED THEM NOT TO RUN THE UPDATE OR THERE WOULD BE NEW PROBLEMS. SO MY CAR WENT TO THE DEALER AGAIN FOR NO REASON. THIS HAS BEEN A HUGE INCONVENIENCE FOR ME FOR MONTHS NOW. I ALSO HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE RADIO REBOOTING WHILE DRIVING, FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I ALSO EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE WITH THE RADIO DISPLAYING NOTHING BUT COLORED LINES AND EVENTUALLY GOING BLACK ALL TOGETHER. THIS WAS HOPEFULLY FIXED BY AN UPDATE BUT THAT STILL REMAINS TO BE SEEN. OVERALL, THIS JEEP HAS HAD ME GOING BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALER STARTING ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT.

I WENT AND CHECKED THE OIL AFTER READING ABOUT THIS WITH OTHER CUSTOMERS AND I HAD NO OIL IN MY CAR.
CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE PROMPTS TO 'RESTART' WHILE THE ENGINE IS STILL RUNNING. BATTERY LIGHT FLASHES, VEHICLE MUST BE TURNED OFF, PUT IN PARK, AND RESTARTED. TAKES SEVERAL SECONDS FOR STARTER TO REINGAGE AND START THE ENGINE.
I HAD JUST PURCHASED MY VEHICLE THE DAY BEFORE. WHILE AT A STOP SIGN THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AFTER RELEASING THE BRAKE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A BAD BATTERY. I DO ON OCCASION FEEL LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO STALL WHILE DRIVING OR FROM A STOPPED POSITION.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V344000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING), NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V524000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.
I LEASED A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE ON MAY 23,2018. ON FOUR OCCASIONS SINCE THAT TIME, THE CAR'S BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR STALLS OUT. THE INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION WHEN SLOWING DOWN (LESS THAN 10 MILES PER HOUR) THE CAR WAS IN A JEEP DEALERSHIP FOR SEVERAL DAYS THIS MONTH, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH. A REVIEW OF INTERNET SITES REVEALS OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION FROM JEEP. I CONSIDER THIS PROBLEM TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE, AND CERTAINLY ONE THAT SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING WITH A NEW CAR.
PTU UNIT IS DEFECTIVE. DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY VEHICLE FOR A WEEK, ONLY TO CALL ME TO TELL ME TO PICK UP VEHICLE AND BRING IT BACK TO THEM NEXT WEEK FOR A LEVEL 3 MASTER MECHANIC TO WORK ON IT. THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING ON MY DRIVEWAY WITH A 3 FOOT PUDDLE. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 3 MONTHS. I DON'T THINK IT'S SAFE TO DRIVE.
