TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD REMAIN IN FWD LOW WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY OR SHE WAS DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE EXPECTED DATE FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE WAS APRIL OF 2014. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
AS WITH MANY OTHERS, I HAVE A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. OWNED IT FOR A YEAR AND NO PROBLEMS. ASIDE FROM THE OLD ISSUES OF WHICH WERE AN EASY FIX. (I.E. LEAKING SUNROOF). I WENT IN FOR THE MOST RECENT RECALL, I FIGURED SURE, WHY NOT, I FIXED EVERYTHING AND ITS RUNNING GREAT! MY MISTAKE! I NOW HAVE POWER TRAIN ISSUES. GEAR NOT SHIFTING RIGHT. ONE TIME STAYED IN 3RD UNTIL I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN. STAYS IN GEAR TOO LONG BEFORE SHIFT SHOULD OCCUR AND THEN 'BUCK'S INTO THE GEAR. SAME FOR WHEN STOPPING, DOES NOT SHIFT DOWN CORRECTLY AND WILL STALE WHEN I FINALLY COME TO A STOP. WHY THE RECALL! I SHOULD HAVE LEFT WHEEL ENOUGH ALONE! TERRIBLE! I STILL LOVE MY JEEP, BUT I FEAR THIS "FREE' FIX FOR THE RECALL IS NOW GOING TO COST ME THOUSANDS.... *TR

THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASH FLIP OFF AND ON IN SUCCESSION AND THE ODOMETER AND TACHOMETER DROP TO 0 WHILE MAINTAINING SPEED. HIGHBEAMS AND HEADLIGHTS ALSO SEEM TO BE EFFECTED. HAPPENED FIRST ON DECEMBER 31 AND HAS CONTINUED HAPPENING SINCE THIS TIME AT RANDOM TIMES. *TR
CHRYSLER RELEASED THE N23 RECALL TO UPDATE THE FINAL DRIVE CONTROLLER, THIS UPDATE HAS AFFECTED THE TRANSFER CASE MOTOR FUNCTION. MY 2006 COMMANDER HAS HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE AND CANNOT BE FIXED. THE JEEP DEALER INFORMED ME THAT CHRYSLER HAS PULLED ALL THE REPLACEMENT PARTS FROM THE SUPPLY SYSTEM (TRANSFER CASE MOTOR) AND THERE IS NO TIMELINE FOR AVAILABILITY. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE PARTS TO FIX, NOR AFTERMARKET OPTION. MY CAR IS WORTHLESS NOW! *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND CAUSED HER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE VEERED OFF THE ROADWAY AND CRASHED INTO SEVERAL TREES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AND A REAR PASSENGER WERE AIR LIFTED FROM THE SCENE FOR TREATMENT OF SEVERE INJURIES. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT BOTH PASSENGERS HAD TO UNDERGO SEVERAL SURGERIES TO RECONSTRUCT THE MUSCLED IN THEIR LEGS WHICH WERE DAMAGED IN THE CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND WAS NOT INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
2006 JEEP COMMANDER 4.7L V8 STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP. MULTIPLE INSTANCES (OVER 12) BETWEEN THE FIRST OCCURRENCE APPROXIMATELY MID DECEMBER 2013 AND TODAY 11 JANUARY 2014. ALL STALLS HAPPENED WHEN COMING TO A STOP EXCEPT FOR ONE INSTANCE WHEN IT STALLED WHILE IN REVERSE. A DROP IN RMPS AND LIGHTING/INSTRUMENT FAILURE ACCOMPANIES THE STALL. CHRYSLER'S RECALL N32 WAS COMPLETED OCTOBER 2013. VEHICLE HAS BEEN OWNED SINCE EARLY 2011 WITH NO STALLING OF THIS TYPE HAVING OCCURRED PRIOR TO THIS. NO INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATION (E.G. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) ACCOMPANIES THE STALL. VEHICLE RESTARTED ON ALL OCCASIONS AFTER SHIFTING TO PARK OR NEUTRAL. *TR
I WAS STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION. WHEN I PROCEEDED TO GO ACROSS THE INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE STARTED GOING BUT VERY SLOWLY NO MATTER HOW MUCH I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THERE WERE CARS COMING AT ME. IT DROVE VERY SLOWLY FOR A COUPLE OF BLOCKS AND I CAME TO ANOTHER STOP. AS I STARTED TO GO INTO THE INTERSECTION AGAIN, THE VEHICLE STARTED OFF VERY SLOWLY EVEN WITH THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR. AS I PROCEEDED IT WENT A LITTLE FASTER BUT NOT MUCH FASTER. MY DAUGHTER INFORMED ME THAT THIS SAME THING HAPPENED TO HER EARLIER WHEN SHE WAS DRIVING THE JEEP AND SHE TURNED IT OFF AND SHE CUT IT OFF COMPLETELY THEN RESTARTED IT AND IT RAN FINE. I PROCEEDED TO DO THE SAME THING(CUTTING IT OFF COMPLETELY AND TURNING IT BACK ON) AND IT RAN WELL AGAIN. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAD THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE SAME PROBLEM AND CAN NOT FIX WHAT THEY CAN'T FIND. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIFTED ERRATICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES FROM HOME, ON A DAY WITH THE TEMPERATURE WELL BELOW ZERO DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, WE ROLLED OUR FRONT WINDOWS DOWN TO TALK TO OUR NEIGHBORS, WHO WERE SHOPPING AT THE SAME MALL AS US. AFTER VISITING WITH THEM, OUR WINDOWS WOULD NOT ROLL BACK UP. OUR FAMILY HAD TO DRIVE IN FREEZING WEATHER BACK HOME, ON A SUNDAY, WITH THE WINDOWS ROLLED DOWN. ON THE WAY, BY RAPIDLY DEPRESSING THE WINDOWS LOCK BUTTON, WHILE MY WIFE REPEATEDLY PULLED UP ON THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW SWITCH, WE GOT HER WINDOW TO ROLL UP. WE NEVER COULD GET THE DRIVERS FRONT WINDOW TO ROLL UP. I REPLACED THE MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY ON THE DRIVERS DOOR PANEL, BUT THAT DID NOT HELP. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT I PROBABLY HAVE MULTIPLE BROKEN WIRES IN THE WIRE BUNDLE IN THE DOOR HINGE AREA. JEEP HAS NOT, TO MY KNOWLEDGE, ADDRESSED THIS PROBLEM AT ALL. THE INTERNET FORUMS ARE CHOCK-FULL OF HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF CONSUMERS THAT HAVE HAD, AND ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I OPENED MY CAR DRIVER'S DOOR ONE MORNING TO FIND TWO INCHES OF RAINWATER ON THE FLOOR NEAR THE PEDALS. UNABLE TO FIND THE SOURCE, I PUT MY JEEP COMMANDER IN THE SHOP. I WAS CHARGED FOR THEM FIXING THE LEAK THAT NEVER GOT FIXED. I HAVE HAD EVERYTHING CHECKED OUT NUMEROUS TIMES & NO ONE CAN TELL ME HOW WATER GETS IN. HOWEVER INCONVENIENT, I AM PARKING MY CAR IN PARKING GARAGES EVERY TIME IT RAINS NOW, GIVEN THERE SEEMS TO BE NO OTHER SOLUTION. IN ADDITION TO THE LEAK, MY COMMANDER'S RADIO/STEREO JUST STOPPED WORKING. I CAN'T GET IT TO TURN ON OR WORK & AND AM NOW EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS HAVING TO DO WITH WINDOW CONTROLS. AFTER RESEARCHING MY OPTIONS I LEARNED THAT TOO OFTEN THESE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS APPEAR FOR MANY IF NOT MOST COMMANDER OWNERS. (I ALSO REPORTED A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR STALLING IN IT'S OWN COMPLAINT.) THESE PROBLEMS NEED TO BE ANALYZED BY REAL PROFESSIONALS & THE JEEP COMMANDER MUST BE RECALLED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE CYLINDER HEAD HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS DIFFICULT TO SHIFT INTO PARK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONE MONTH LATER, THE CHECK TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. MY WIFE REPORTED A STRANGE THUMPING SOUND FROM UNDER THE CAR. SHE SAID IT BEGAN AFTER DROPPING CHILDREN AT SCHOOL AND GOING OVER A SPEED BUMP AT THE SCHOOL. SOMETHING SHE DOES EVERY DAY. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THE DRIVER SIDE EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE WAS INTERFERING WITH THE REAR UNIVERSAL JOINT ON THE DRIVESHAFT. THE CABLE WAS KINKED AND BEING CUT BY THE ROTATION OF THE DRIVESHAFT. THERE WAS ALSO ABRASION OF THE GAS TANK SPLASH GUARD. I HAVE NO DOUBT IF THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE CABLE WOULD BE CUT IN HALF AND POSSIBLY WRAP AROUND THE DRIVESHAFT CAUSING THE DRIVER SIDE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO APPLY AND LOCK-UP THE WHEEL RESULTING IN A ROLLOVER. THE GAS TANK COULD ALSO HAVE BEEN PUNCTURED IF THE CABLE WAS PULLED BY THE DRIVESHAFT. SOMEHOW THE NORMAL ACTION OF THE VEHICLES SUSPENSION WAS ABLE TO PLACE THIS CABLE IN CONTACT WITH THE DRIVESHAFT. THE ROTATION OF THE UNIVERSAL JOINT CAUGHT THE CABLE PULLING IT INTO THE ROTATING SHAFT. I CONSIDER THIS A CLASS 1 DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE CORRECTED WITH A MODEL RECALL. NORMALLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE IS ROUTED OFF TO THE SIDE AND NOT DIRECTLY OVER THE DIFFERENTIAL. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? CHRYSLER NEEDS TO DEVISE A SUPPLEMENTAL ATTACHING POINT THAT WILL ENSURE THE CABLES ARE NOT ABLE TO CONTACT THE DRIVESHAFT EVEN UNDER EXTREME OFF ROAD DRIVING. I HAVE A FULL SET OF PHOTOS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. I HAVE ORDERED A NEW CABLE BUT THE PART NUMBER IS ON BACK ORDER. THIS INDICATES THERE IS A PROBLEM WHEN THE PART CANNOT BE STOCKED DUE TO HIGH DEMAND. THIS CABLE SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE WITHOUT QUESTION. NHTSA IS THERE FOR THE PUBLIC. IT EXISTS ON PUBLIC TAXES. IT IS NOT THERE TO SHIELD CORPORATE MISTAKES AND SHORT CUTS. I FEEL THAT NHTSA IS NOT OPERATING WITHIN THE PUBLIC TRUST IF IT ALLOWS DEFECTS TO BE IGNORED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING - USUALLY AT NIGHT AND AT ALL SPEEDS MY HEADLIGHTS WILL FLICKER LIKE A STROBE LIGHT AND THEN GO OFF COMPLETELY, INCLUDING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AS WELL INDICATING MY SPEED, ETC.. SOMETIMES I CAN USE MY HIGH BEAMS TO AT LEAST BE ABLE TO SEE, HOWEVER, EVEN SOMETIMES THIS DOES NOT WORK. VERY, VERY DANGEROUS TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE OR BE SEEN AT NIGHT IN RANDOM PLACES ON THE FREEWAY, IN THE CITY, ETC....PLEASE SOMEONE HELP - DEALER STATES THAT THEY HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE!! ANOTHER PROBLEM, I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH, IS THE AIR CONDITIONER IN THE VEHICLE WILL STOP AND NOT BLOW ANY AIR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART TO FIX MY CAR. ON TOP OF THAT THEY GAVE ME A PIECE OF MY CAR THAT APPARENTLY FELL OFF, WHILE THEY WERE INSPECTING IT??!!?? THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULT AND THAT IT IS A FAULTY PIECE CALLED THE HOUSING WHICH IS PART OF THE INLET HOUSING AND THAT IT WOULD COST $1,156.38 TO FIX. UNBELIEVABLE! *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE THIRD ROW SEAT, SEATBELT BROKE, WHERE THE BELT PLUGS IN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT. IT SNAPPED OF WHILE MY FOUR YEAR OLD TRIED TO BUCKLE UP A WEEK OR SO AGO. THIS WAS SUCH A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF IT SNAPPED WHILE IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT? MY BOY WOULD HAVE PROBABLY BEEN KILLED. WHILE LOOKING ONLINE I FOUND MULTIPLE RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE, ONE BEING THE EXACT SAME SEATBELTS. I CALLED BARNETT CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM KIA IN MAPLEWOOD, MN, WHO SAID THEY WOULD HELP ME OUT WITH ONE RECALL, BUT SAID THE SEATBELT ISSUE DIDN?T RELATE TO MY VIN. I WAS BASICALLY TOLD THAT I WAS RESPONSIBLE TO FOOT THE BILL FOR THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT. DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT? IS THERE SOME TYPE OF MORAL OBLIGATION OR LAW THAT HELPS US OUT FROM BEING SCREWED OVER IN THIS SENSE? PLEASE GET BACK, WERE TAKING THE VEHICLE IN TOMORROW. WE RELY ON THIS VEHICLE, THERE ARE SIX PEOPLE IN OUR FAMILY (FOUR YOUNG CHILDREN) AND THIS IS OUR FAMILY VEHICLE. *TR
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES MOLDING CRACKS AND BREAKS OFF. I HAVE ONE ON DRIVERS SIDE THAT STILL FUNCTIONS BUT PASSENGER SIDE IS TOTAL NONE WORKING UNLESS YOU ROLL WINDOW DOWN AND OPEN FROM OUTSIDE. THIS MAKES FOR A SAFETY HAZARD, NOT BEING ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY JEEP WILL GO FROM D TO N. IT WILL PLACE A BOX AROUND ALL GEARS AND I WILL BE IN NEUTRAL. IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHEN I FIRST TAKE OFF OR WHEN I STOP AT A LIGHT OR A STOP SIGN. WHEN I FIRST TAKE OFF IT WILL REV REALLY HIGH AND NOT SHIFT DOWN AUTOMATICALLY LIKE IT SHOULD, WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OF THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR JOLTS AND I'M IN NEUTRAL, I HAVE TO PHYSICALLY PUT IT IN NEUTRAL OR PARK IN ORDER FOR IT TO GO BACK TO DRIVE. WHEN I STOP AT A RED LIGHT IT JOLTS AND NOW IS IN NEUTRAL AND AGAIN I HAVE TO EITHER PUT IT IN PARK OR NEUTRAL IN ORDER FOR IT TO GO BACK INTO DRIVE. I HAVE CONTACTED JEEP BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM, HOWEVER THE PART THAT IS ON MY JEEP IS A DIFFERENT SERIAL NUMBER THAT THE RECALL AND THEY REFUSE TO RECALL IT ALSO EVEN THOUGH IT DOES THE EXACT SAME THING AND THROWS THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL WHILE I'M DRIVING! *TR

OCTOBER, 2013 RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THAT THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ON MY 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. (AS I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN, THIS WAS A PRIORITY TO HAVE FIXED) I BROUGHT MY JEEP INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE N23 SAFETY RECALL PERFORMED. COME JANUARY, 2014 WITH A FEW INCHES OF SNOW ON THE GROUND I ATTEMPT TO ACTIVATE MY 4 WHEEL LOW AND I GET A SERVICE LIGHT STATING "SERVICE 4WD". I CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP WHO HAD PERFORMED THE RECALL AND BRING IT IN TO BE LOOKED AT. THEY RUN A DIAGNOSIS AND DETERMINE THE TRUCK HAS AN INTERNAL SHORT IN THE TRANSFER CASE. THE SERVICE TECH ADVISED ME IT IS RELATED TO THE RECALL BUT HE CAN NOT DO ANYTHING AT THE DEALER LEVEL. I NEED TO CALL CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO TELLS ME THEY WILL NOT BE DOING ANYTHING TO HELP. UPON A LITTLE RESEARCH (JEEP FORUMS) IT SEEMS THERE ARE MANY (MANY) OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUES. I AM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE TO CALL JEEP WITH THIS ISSUE AND IF YOU CLEAR THE CODES THE 4 WHEEL LOW ENGAGES SO IT IS NOT A SHORT. THE CAR WON'T START SOMETIMES BECAUSE THE SHIFTER CONTROL THINKS IT IS IN DRIVE WHEN IT IS IN PARK. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE 2010. IT FIRST HAPPENED TO MY WIFE AS SHE DROVE ON I-75 THE CAR JUST TURNED OFF ON HER AND ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A CAR THAT WAS BEHIND HER. IT HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST 7 TIMES SINCE AND RECENTLY MUCH MORE THAN BEFORE WHERE THE SAME THING HAPPENS THE CAR TURNS OFF AND YOU LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF EVERYTHING,BRAKES ,STEERING ETC THE CAR JUST FLOATS FOR ABOUT TWO BLOCKS AND YOU ARE HELPLESS UNTIL IT STOPS. WE WERE DRIVING ALONG AND STARTED BREAKING TO PREPARE TO STOP, WHEN MY 9 YEAR OLD SON, WHO WAS SEATED IN THE THIRD ROW PASSENGER SEAT, SAYS "MOM, MY SEAT BELT JUST BROKE." I TURN TO SEE WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT AND HE HANDED ME THE WHOLE BUCKLE, THE PART THAT THE SEAT BELT CLICKS INTO. I WAS HORRIFIED. LUCKILY WE HADN'T BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR EVEN STOPPED FAST. I CALL THE MANUFACTURER TO SEE WHAT WE NEEDED TO DO. THEY TOLD ME MY VEHICLE WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY WASN'T ANY RECALLS FOR THAT ISSUE. THEY STATED I NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER TO SEE IF THERE WAS A DEFECT. SO, I DID AND THEY JUST TOLD ME I NEED TO REPLACE THE PART AND IT WOULD COST OVER $300, WHICH I DON'T HAVE TO SPARE. IN MAY, 2013 I RECEIVED RECALL, N23. SOON AFTER I HAD THE RECALL APPLIED. ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT TO USE THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE FEATURE IT FAILED. I WENT TO ANOTHER DEALER WHO DISCONNECTED THE TRANSFER CASE, CHECKED THE CONNECTIONS AND VOLTAGES AND FOUND THEM OK. THEY RECONNECTED THE TRANSFER CASE AND REPORTED IT OPERATIONAL. A FEW WEEKS LATER, WHILE TRAVELING, I RECEIVED ANOTHER WARNING THAT THE TRANSFER CASE FAILED. I WENT TO A LOCAL JEEP DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS NEEDING AN ACTUATOR. WHEN I RETURNED HOME I WENT TO THE DEALER THAT APPLIED THE ORIGINAL RECALL WHICH WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE. AFTER THEY CLEARED THE ERROR CODES THEY SAID THEY FOUND A BROKEN CONNECTOR ON THE ACTUATOR. I ASSUME ALL THE MANUAL HANDLING OF THE ACTUATOR PROBABLY CAUSED THE CONNECTOR TO BRAKE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE ACTUATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED BUT WAS ON BACKORDER. I HAVE PAPERWORK THAT INDICATES THAT THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM FOUND WAS A CRACKED CIRCUIT BOARD IN THE ACTUATOR. HOW CAN A SOFTWARE UPDATE FIX A CRACKED CIRCUIT BOARD? COULD THAT BE WHY THERE ARE NO NEW ACTUATORS AVAILABLE? WERE THEY PULLED OFF THE MARKET? THERE ARE MANY JEEP OWNERS THAT I AM IN CONTACT WITH THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS I AM AND ARE BEING TOLD THE SAME THING BY CHRYSLER THAT I AM: THAT THE RECALL DID NOT CAUSE THE DAMAGE TO THE ACTUATOR. APRIL 2014 -- STALLED, SHUT DOWN, NO START. CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25MPH. BATTERY AND SOLENOID/STARTER. JUNE 2014 -- NO START, TRANSMISSION OVER TEMP". JEEP WOULD START FOR VERY SHORT PERIOD, OVER-HEAT AND SHUT DOWN. HOSES AND WATER PUMP REPLACED. BLOWER MOTOR REPLACED. JULY 2014 -- STALLED, SHUT DOWN, NO START. DEALERSHIP CAN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS. HAD TUNE-UP; REPLACED SPARK PLUGS, ETC. ENGINE LIGHT ON. DASH LIGHTS WOULD COME ON AND SHUT COMPLETELY OFF WHILE DRIVING. AFTER CAR WAS SHUT OFF IT WOULDN'T RESTART. WINDOWS WOULDN'T WORK OR IF THEY FINALLY ENGAGED WOULD GO UP AND DOWN SPORADICALLY.CAR HORN CAME ON BY ITSELF AND WOULDN'T SHUT OFF UNTIL RELAY WAS TAKEN OUT. SEPT 2014 -- STALLED, SHUT DOWN, NO START .STARTER REPLACED, NEW BATTERY. CAR STARTED HESITATING WHILE DRIVING. DASH LIGHTS WOULD ALL COME ON AND THEN ALL SHUT OFF. WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR SLOWING DOWN CAR WOULD LOSE POWER. WHILE COMING TO AN INTERSECTION TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ON A GREEN TURN ARROW CAR WOULDN'T ENGAGE TO EXCEL. MY 7 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR. I FEARED WE WERE GOING TO STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION OF A BUSY STREET. ALL THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND SHUT OFF REPEATEDLY AS WE COASTED AROUND THE TURN. GOT A NEW BATTERY. CAR STILL WOULDN'T START. DEALERSHIP REPLACED SOLENOID/STARTER. SEPT 2014 -- HESITATES, LIGHTS ON DASH ON AND OFF, ENGINE LIGHT ON, DEALERSHIP CAN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS. AGAIN, DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME AND ALL SHUT OFF. JEEP IS/WAS HESITATING WHILE DRIVING AND NOT ENGAGING / CHANGING GEARS WHILE DRIVING.
