WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE ENGINE SHUTS OFF; AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHES ON AS WELL AS DASH LIGHTS. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 10 TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF A EIGHT LANE HIGHWAY IN RUSH HOUR. IT HAS TORN MY NERVES ALL TO PIECES TRYING TO DRIVE IT UNDER THESE CONDITIONS SO I HAD TO PARK IT AND BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE. NEED ACTION SOON. STARTED APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. NOTIFIED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD TO REMOVE ALL KEYS FROM RING EXCEPT SWITCH KEY; DID THAT AND IT STILL HAPPENS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTED OUT OF DRIVE AND INTO NEUTRAL INDEPENDENTLY, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE TRACTION CONTROL AND THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,600.
DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR HANDLES. BOTH HANDLES HAVE SNAPPED CAUSING THE FLIMSY PLASTIC PANEL TO BREAK. THIS REQUIRES THE ENTIRE PANEL BE CHANGED . VERY EXPENSIVE AND DANGEROUS MAKES OPENING THESE DOORS VERY DIFFICULT.
THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT DOES NOT LATCH. YOU HAVE TO HOLD DOWN THE RED PRESS BUTTON TO LATCH. ONCE LATCHED THE SEAT BELT ALARM CONTINUES TO CHIME LIKE IS DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE SEAT BELT IS LATCHED. IT'S ANNOYING BUT AT THE SAME TIME CONCERNED IF THE SEAT BELT IS WORKING PROPERLY. AFTER RESEARCHING ON LINE THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDER A RECALL. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, ALL OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING FAILED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS WOULD INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATE AND ALL THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. ALL DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS WOULD BLINK ON AND OFF; TWO TIMES ENGINE CUT-OFF WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY ( DRIVERS KNEE WAS NOT NEAR IGNITION KEY AS A CAUSE THAT HAS BEEN BLAMED ). FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH WAS DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED AT AUTHORIZED DEALER [ MONROEVILLE CHRYSLER JEEP, MONROEVILLE PA., MAY 28,2013 ] AT MY EXPENSE. NO PROBLEMS SINCE REPAIR. RECALL NOTICE P41 /NHTSA 14V-438 FOR IGNITION SWITCH RECEIVED SEPT 2014. DOCUMENTATION OF REPAIR FOR REIMBURSEMENT WAS PROVIDED AS PER REQUESTED INFORMATION IN RECALL NOTICE. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE IS REFUSING TO REIMBURSE ($211.45). *TR
TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE BLOWER MOTOR CUT OFF AND THE LIGHTS ON THAT COME ON WHEN YOU FIRST TURN THE KEY ON CAME ON. WHEN THAT CYCLE WAS OVER THE CRUISE CONTROL CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY ACCELERATED. HAD TO TURN THE KEY OFF TO KILL THE CRUISE CONTROL. THIS PROBLEM WITH THE KEY HASN'T HAPPENED WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD BEFORE ONLY WHILE SITTING IN PARK. WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THEY REPLACED THE KEY SAYING IT WAS THE KEY CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED AFTER THE KEY WAS REPLACED. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND HAD TO STOP BEHIND ANOTHER DRIVER WHO WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. I WAS ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. WHEN THEY TURNED I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. THIS IS WHEN I ENCOUNTERED MY PROBLEM. I HAD TO PUSH THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR. IT WAS AS IF THE CAR SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. THINKING THIS WAS STRANGE I LOOKED ON MY DASHBOARD TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE. WHAT I FOUND WHEN I LOOKED WAS THAT ALL THE GEARS WERE HIGHLIGHTED. AT THIS POINT THE CAR STILL WOULDN'T GO OVER 20-25MPH. (I WAS ON A 45MPH ROAD ON A VERY BUSY MONDAY.) I GENTLY MOVED MY GEAR SHIFT AND THAT PUT MY GEAR BACK INTO DRIVE. A FEW SECONDS LATER I LOOK AT MY DASHBOARD AND ALL THE GEARS WERE BRIEFLY HIGHLIGHTED AND THEN IT WENT BACK TO JUST THE DRIVE GEAR HIGHLIGHTED. I TOOK IT IN TO AN AUTHORIZED JEEP DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED A NEW SHIFTER MODULE/BEZEL. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SOMETHING THE CHRYSLER COMPANY SHOULD OF KNOWN ABOUT AND PUT A RECALL OUT ON THIS VEHICLE. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS ONLY TOLD THAT THERE ARE RECALLS OUT ON JEEP COMMANDERS FOR IT SLIPPING INTO NEUTRAL BUT THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF SAID RECALL. ALTHOUGH THE GEAR ON MY CAR SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL WHEN I HAD IT IN DRIVE. THE RECALL ALSO STATES THAT VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN CERTAIN DATES SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR THE RECALL. MY CAR FALLS INTO THOSE DATES. I HAD TO PAY $829.00 FOR A PART AND $209.98 FOR LABOR AND $14.70 FOR SHOP SUPPLIES. THIS BROUGHT MY TOTAL TO $1,127.44. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW A PART COULD COST ME THIS MUCH? AM I THE ONLY OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM? I GOT THE PROBLEM FIXED AND THE VEHICLE RUNS FINE NOW. I AM WANTING CHRYSLER TO ADMIT THAT THIS IS A DEFECT ON THEIR PART AND REIMBURSE ME FOR THE TOTAL SUM STATED ABOVE. *TR
WAS GOING TO GET GAS TURNED ON THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER LIGHTS WOULD NOT WORK. TRIED TO JUMP THE THE TRUCK AND IT STILL WOULD NOT START. IT LOOKS LIKE IT MIGHT BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 55MPH. AND OUT OF NOWHERE THE CAR RPM'S DROPPED TO 0 AND THE CAR DIED. AS I PUMPED ON THE GAS I LOOKED IN THE REARVIEW TO MAKE SURE I WAS NOT GOING TO GET HIT. AFTER THAT I TURNED THE CAR OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND PUT ON MY HAZARDS. IT THEN TURNED ON AND AFTER WILL GO TO 2 RPM'S AND THEN START TO JERK BACK AND FORTH. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES SO FAR AND AS OF NOW THE 3RD TIME AND 3RD WITH A RENTAL IT FINALLY HAPPENED TO THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP. AND HE HAS NO CLUE HIS WORDS. SO IN A TWO WEEK FRAME TIME I HAVE ONLY HAD MY JEEP 4 DAYS WHY BECAUSE THEY CANT EVEN FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND CHECKED FOR A RECALL AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO RECALL AS OF YET. I WORRY BECAUSE THIS COULD CAUSE A ACCIDENT AND TYPICALLY I HAVE MY WIFE AND TWO CHILDREN IN THE JEEP WITH ME. IF U GO TO CARCOMPLAINTS.COM AND LOOK UP. THIS MODEL U WILL SEE THERE ARE UP TO 60 MORE INCIDENTS. BUT THE DEALERSHIP/CHRYSLER HAS YET TO DO ANYTHING. HOPEFULLY IT DOES NOT SERIOUSLY HARM THE OWNER OF THE JEEP OR A PERSON WHO HITS THEM. *TR
ALL OF THE DOOR HANDLES ON THE VEHICLE ARE COMING LOOSE FROM THE DOOR PANEL. THEY ARE SO LOOSE THAT THEY COULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE IF ANYONE NEEDED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER. I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO HAVE ONE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS ISSUE AS I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THE SAME ISSUE FOR SIMILAR VEHICLES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF SOMEONE CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. *TR
I OWN A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. WE LOVE THIS VEHICLE. HOWEVER 2 OF OUR INSIDE DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN. THE DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE AND BACK SEAT LEFT DOOR HANDLE.. IN SEEING ALL OF THE POSTS REGARDING THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH OTHER JEEP COMMANDER OWNERS IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM. IT IS ABSOLUTELY A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY CHILDREN, MYSELF AND ANYONE INSIDE THE CAR. MY SON SWITCHED THE CHILD SAFETY LOCK ON THE BACKSEAT (LEFT SIDE) DOOR AS WELL AND NOW BECAUSE THE DOOR HANDLE IS BROKEN WE ARE UNABLE TO SWITCH IT BACK. THEREFORE, THE ONLY WAY THAT PASSENGER CAN GET OUT OF THE CAR IS IF SOMEONE OPENS THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. DOOR LATCHES/HANDLES BREAKING IS AN ENORMOUS SAFETY PROBLEM AND VIABLE REASON FOR A RECALL. WE ARE REQUESTING AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS MATTER FOR CONSIDERATION OF A RECALL. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE JUST TURNED OFF,COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE KEY AND RESTARTED ENGINE,CONTINUING DOWN THE ROAD IT HAPPENED AGAIN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER 4X2. DURING RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS, WATER LEAKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE VEHICLE FLOODED AND THE REAR INTERIOR WAS MOLDING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROOF DRAINS AND TUBES WERE CLOGGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES OF MY VEHICLE HAVE ALL DEVELOPED HAIRLINE FRACTURES AND THEN THEY END UP SHATTERING UPON NORMAL USE. ALL 4 OF MY INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE NOW COMPLETELY BROKEN AND THE DRIVER DOOR TAKES TIME AND CARE TO OPEN IT FROM THE INSIDE. I AM AFRAID THAT IF THERE IS AN AUTO ACCIDENT I AM INVOLVED IN, I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF MY VEHICLE OR GET MY THREE VERY YOUNG CHILDREN OUT EITHER. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH AND COMPLETELY OUT OF THE BLUE THE CAR SHUT OFF AND CARS WERE HONKING AND I HAD TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I SAT THERE AND WAITED TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS NOT OVERHEATING OR ANYTHING ELSE BUT NO LIGHTS HAD COME ON OR ANY TYPE OF WARNING. I THEN STARTED THE CAR BACK UP AND IT RAN FINE BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME ON. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO GET FIXED AND THEY SAID IT WAS A LOOSE AIR FILTER BOX. I FIXED THIS AND DID NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND THEN THE OTHER DAY DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 50 MPH THE CAR SHUTOFF. ITS VERY SCARY FOR A CAR TO SUDDENLY SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING WHATSOEVER AND I'M SO AFRAID I WILL GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I JUST HAD A RECALL DONE TO THE CAR AND THEY THOUGHT IT WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT BUT IT IS STILL DOING IT. I JUST PAID THIS CAR OFF AND REALLY I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT NOW. *TR
ON THE EVENING OF 5/04/2013 WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT A RATE OF BETWEEN 65 & 70 MPH MY HEADLIGHTS ALONG WITH MY ENTIRE DASHBOARD AND INSTRUMENT PANEL BEGIN FLICKERING AND EVENTUALLY WENT OUT! I PULLED OVER TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED IT THE HEADLIGHT CAME ON IMMEDIATELY, HOWEVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLICKERED FOR A BIT THEN EVENTUALLY ILLUMINATED. WENT INTO AUTOZONE (@#$%) GOT A READING, WAS TOLD IT WAS A MINOR ISSUE AND TO GET IT CHECKED OUT. A COUPLE DAYS GO BY REALLY NOT DRIVING IT MUCH A LITTLE NERVOUS, HOWEVER WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE NONE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS WORKING, THY TACHOMETER NEEDLE, THE SPEEDOMETER NOTHING, HOWEVER THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AND IT WOULD SHIFT IN AND OUT OF GEAR, BUT IT WOULD JERK AND STALL AND WHENEVER I TRIED TO MAKE A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN THE BRAKES WOULD GRIND AND SCREECH! "YITES" THANK GOD, WE HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE! ANYWAY I CALLED A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO BE CHARGED A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF $130.00 FOR EACH COMPONENT TESTED??? REALLY! ANYWAY IT GETS BETTER I CALLED CHRYSLER-JEEP MANUFACTURER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT ALTHOUGH MY CAR WAS DOING EXACTLY WHAT MILLIONS OF OTHER RECALLED COMMANDERS MADE IN THE SAME YEAR 2006 WERE DOING, MY "VIN" NUMBER WASN'T ON THE RECALL LIST, GOOOOO FIGURE! SO YEAH, ALTHOUGH MY JEEP SHIFTS IN AND OUT OF GEAR ON THE HIGHWAY, CLUSTER BOARD AND HEADLIGHTS FLICKER OFF AND IT STALLS LIKE IT GOING TO SHUT OFF! NO CIGAR! I GUESS I'LL BRING TO WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM AND USE MY "MAX CARE WARRANTY" GOD GIVE ME THE STRENGTH! *TR
HAVING FRONT SEAT BELT ISSUES. THEY BOTH DON'T LOCK PROPERLY. I HAVE TO HOLD DOWN THE RED RELEASE BUTTON TO LOCK THEM AND NOW THE COMPUTER DOES NOT RECONIZE THEM AS BEING LOCKED AND THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON AND IT CHUMES ALL THE TIME AND DOES NOT STOP. IS THERE A RECALL FOR THIS BECAUSE I SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS ISSUE. IS THERE AN EASY FIX FOR THIS AND CAN IT BE TURNED OFF. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRIECIATED.
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE BROKEN. YOU CANNOT OPEN THE DOORS FROM THE INSIDE. IF INSIDE THE VEHICLE YOU HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW TO OPEN THE DOOR. THE DOORS AND HANDLES HAVE NOT BEEN ABUSED, AND HAVE ONLY BEEN SUBJECTED TO NORMAL EVERYDAY USE.

A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE CRASH. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT FOUR MONTHS LATER, SHE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V175000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SENT AN ENGINEER TO FURTHER INSPECT THE FAILURE. THE ENGINEER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WAS CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 135,000.

THE CONTACT HAD TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING AWAY. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS UNAVAILABLE. NOWWWWWWWW WE HAVE A TERRIBLE LEAK NOT SURE WHERE IT IS COMING FROM, WHEN IT RAINS WE GET 3 INCHES OF WATER IN THE DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR BOARD, IT LEAKED SO BAD THE WIRING IS SHORTING OUT NOW. I PURCHASED MY 2006 JEEP COMMANDER FROM CITY AUTO IN MEMPHIS, TN ON 9/14/11 AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A ONE-OWNER VEHICLE ORIGINATING FROM THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA. I NOTICED HESITATION IN THE TRANSMISSION AND VARIANCES (ROUGH - UP AND DOWN) IN THE IDLING SHORTLY AFTER MY PURCHASE. I THEN STARTED TO GET THE "TRANSMISSION/ENGINE" LIGHT COMING ON. BUT IT WOULD GO AWAY ALMOST AS QUICK AS IT WOULD COME ON. I THEN HAD MY ENGINE STALL WHILE DRIVING FULL SPEED ON THE INTERSTATE. I LOST ALL POWER! FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER SAFELY! WE IMMEDIATELY STARTED DOING SOME RESEARCH ON VARIOUS FORUMS, INCLUDING JEEP FORUM, ON THE "STALLING ISSUE" AND "LIGHTS COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY". MY HUSBAND TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL AUTOZONE AND THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THEIR CODING SCANNER MACHINE. IT GAVE US THE CODE TO CHANGE THE MAP SENSOR NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. MY HUSBAND CHANGED THIS OUT LAST SUMMER (2013). IT HELPED FOR A LITTLE BIT. :( THEN BEGAN HAVING THE SAME ISSUES, STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON/OFF AND ROUGH IDLING. HUSBAND WENT BACK AND HAD THEM HOOK UP TO CODING MACHINE AND THIS TIME WAS GIVEN THE CODE FOR O2 SENSOR, WHICH HE PURCHASED AND CHANGED OUT. NOW IT'S WORSE THAN EVER! IT WON'T EVEN STAY IDLED. IT STALLS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY! I HAVE TO KEEP MY FOOT ON THE GAS (AND BRAKE WHEN NEEDED) ALL THE TIME! IF I LET IT GO BELOW 1000RPMS IT DIES! WE TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC & WAS TOLD THE PCM WAS BAD. AT THE TIME, THE CONSUMER WAS ABOUT FIVE CAR LENGTHS FROM AN AUTOMOBILE AHEAD OF HIM IN THE SAME LANE, AND IN 10 SECONDS HE WAS JUST A FEW FEET OF OVERTAKING AND CRASHING INTO THE VEHICLE. REALIZING THAT CRASHING INTO THE VEHICLE WAS IMMINENT, HE MADE AN OBLIQUE TURN INTO THE TRAFFIC LANE TO HIS LEFT AND CONTINUED AT 90 MPH WITH THE ENGINE SCREAMING AND WITH THE THRUST OF A ROCKET, HIS FOOT WAS ON THE ACCELERATOR, TRYING TO SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED ON AT A HIGH SPEED FOR ANOTHER 10 OR 15 SECONDS AND THEN THE SITUATION CORRECTED ITSELF AND IT SETTLED DOWN TO 50 MPH. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHERE AN INSPECTION REVEALED THE THROTTLE BODY PLATE WAS FULL OF CARBON AND THAT INTERFERED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE THROTTLE CAUSING THE SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE.

AT THIS POINT THE DOOR CLOSES BUT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE PASSENGER TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN FOR I HAVE 2 CHILDREN THAT RIDE IN THE BACK FREQUENTLY. HOWEVER, CHRYSLER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT A FIX FOR THE RECALL HAD NOT BEEN FOUND AND HE WOULD RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE WHEN THE DECISION WAS MADE ON HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IN SEPTEMBER, THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A SECOND RECALL NOTICE AND CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT HIS COMPENSATION. HE WAS ASSIGNED ANOTHER CASE NUMBER AND WAS INFORMED THE REFUND WOULD BE PAID OUT IN FOUR WEEKS. IN LATER OCTOBER, HE AGAIN CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THE STATUS OF HIS REFUND. HE WAS INFORMED, THE CLAIM WAS DENIED SINCE IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL ADDRESSED IN THE RECALL.
