THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

I HAVE A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER, WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY/ SIDE STREETS VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. MAKING IT HARD TO BRAKE AND STEER. VERY SCARY WHEN YOUR IN TRAFFIC AT 70 MILES HR. AND YOU COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. TOOK IT IN TO CHRYSLER DEALER HAS NO SOLUTION FOR THIS VEHICLE. ALL THESE PROBLEMS SURFACED AFTER DOING THE DRIVE CONTROLLER MODULE RECALL. GOT A SECOND OPINION AND DEALER GAVE ME A LIST TUNE-UP, COILS, TRAIN SERVICE, ETC. WOW THESE DEALERS WANT TO MAKE SOME CASH. HAD A THIRD OPINION AND MECHANIC SAYS ALL CODES ARE RELATED TO MODULE. NOW SHOULDN'T DEALER BE AWARE OF THIS AND CHRYSLER SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THE TRANSMISSION'S ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR SEALS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
I AM 74 YEARS OF AGE AND AT THE TIME OF MY HUSBAND'S DEATH FOUR YEARS AGO PURCHASED A 2007 CHRYSLER JEEP COMMANDER WHICH NOW HAS 53,815 MILES. I BEGAN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH UNEXPECTED COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER ON BOTH INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS AND RESIDENTIAL STREETS OVER THE LAST YEAR. THESE OCCURRENCES HAVE INCREASED IN FREQUENCY AT VARYING TIMES WHEN DRIVING WITHIN THE LAST SIX MONTHS, AND MOST TERRIFYING ON THE INTERSTATE WHERE I WAS FACED WITH THE REALIZATION OF DECELERATION AND CUTOFF AT THE SPEED LIMIT OF 55 MPH. I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE (P41/NHTSA14V-38), ROUND OR ABOUT APRIL 2, 2015 FROM CHRYSLER GROUP LLC INFORMING ME OF THE VEHICULAR PROBLEMS DESCRIBED I AM EXPERIENCING, CHRYSLER GROUP'S RECALL NOTICE MAKES A CLEAR AND SPECIFIC REPRESENTATION THAT REPAIRS WOULD PERFORMED TO CORRECT THE VEHICLE'S DEFECTS FREE OF CHARGE WHEN IT IS RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP. ACCORDINGLY, SOUTHFIELD CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND ORDERED PARTS ON OR ABOUT APRIL 6, 2015. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE PART(S) FOR NEARLY THREE WEEKS. ON APRIL 24, 2015 I AGAIN CONTACTED SOUTHFIELD CHRYSLER AFTER THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE AND WAS INFORMED THE MANUFACTURER: "CHRYSLER EITHER WILL NOT, OR HAS NOT, SENT THE PARTS NEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM," CONTRARY TO THE LANGUAGE OF THE NOTICE. SOUTHFIELD CHRYSLER WILL NOT PERFORM REPAIRS WITHOUT PAYMENT FOR THE PARTS. SOUTHFIELD CHRYSLER HAS TAKEN THE POSITION: "IF I PAY FOR REPAIRS THE MANUFACTURER WILL REIMBURSE ME," WHICH CONTINUES TO LEAVE ME SUBJECTED TO INJURE AND/OR DEATH. I DO NOT HAVE THE AVAILABLE FUNDS TO PAY FOR REPAIRS, RELATIVE TO LIVING ON A FIXED INCOME AND SPECIFIC AND VERY LIMITED BUDGET. IT IS CLEAR TO ME THAT THE MANUFACTURE AND DEALERSHIP WILL NOT PERFORM RESPONSIBLY TO ADDRESS A SERIOUS LIFE AND DEATH THAT THEY ARE CLEARLY AWARE EXIST. A COMPLAINT IS PROPER. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY, VEHICLE ENGINE SUDDENLY STALLED. WAS ABLE TO MOVE OFF THE FREEWAY, VEHICLE RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY WHEN KEY WAS MOVED TO OFF POSITION, AND THEN TO START. NO ERROR CODES CAME UP ON DASH READOUT. WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE JOURNEY WITH NO OTHER STALLING AT THAT TIME. VEHICLE SINCE HAS CONTINUOUSLY AND RANDOMLY HAS STALLED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AS WELL AS BEING STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. AGAIN NO CODES HAVE COME UP ON DASH READOUT. THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION CONTINUES TO OCCUR. VEHICLE HAS BEEN UPDATED ON SERVICES NEEDED, DIAGNOSTICS TAKEN; BUT STILL PROBLEM PERSISTS WITH NO RESOLUTION FROM JEEP DEALER AND SERVICE TECHNICIANS. *TR

THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND POWERED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 TO 3 SECONDS AND INDEPENDENTLY RESTARTED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE, LOSES POWER AND SHUTS OFF. HAVE TO MOVE OVER TO BREAKDOWN LANE SHUT KEY OFF AND RESTART VEHICLE. NOTIFIED DEALER WAS TOLD TO CALL CHRYSLER. CALL CHRYSLER WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL BUT PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. WAS TOLD TO NOT DRIVE VEHICLE, BUT CANT FINISH PAYING FOR VEHICLE IF I CANT GET TO WORK TO PAY FOR IT.!!!!!!! IT HAPPENS ON A DAILY BASIS... *TR
DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED ON DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR. DOOR NOW MAKES A DUCK CALL/ BUZZ EVERYTIME IT LOCKS. UPON RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH COMMANDERS AND A RECALL SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO FIX THIS ISSUE. *TR

2ND CAR OWN 2007 JEEP COMMANDER HAS GONE OUT OF CONTROL WHILE DRIVING, TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING OR AT A STOP. RECALLS ON FILE WITH SAME HISTORY BUT DOES NOT INCLUDE EITHER SECOND VIN NUMBER. DEALER SERVICES STATE NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR AND HAVE NO EXPLANATION OF INCIDENTS THAT OCCURS. AND DEMANDS TO PICK UP MY CARS. *TR
ON 2/11/14 TOOK VEHICLE INTO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF THE STARTER MOTOR NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND IT HAD TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE STARTER MOTOR AND I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. AFTER THIS THE AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON AND I WOULD THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I SHOULD NOT HAD TO PAY FOR ANY OF THIS. BUT I DID. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD TO REPLACE A SHORT IN THE HARNESS PART #5143387AA. ALSO, THE SAID THE DRIVER SEAT BELT WAS CAUSING AIR BAG LIGHT TO GO ON. THIS WAS A DEFECT. I BELIEVE THAT IF THESE ARE RECALLS AND SAFETY ISSUES FROM CHRYSLER AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THEM I WOULD THINK THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR TAKING CARE OF THESE PROBLEMS BEFORE SOMETHING BAD REALLY HAPPENED. I AM ALWAYS MAINTAINING MY VEHICLE AND I AM VERY GLAD THAT I HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THESE PROBLEMS. N 23 SAFETY RECALL WAS DONE AND AFTER THAT THE 4 WHEEL LO WOULD NOT WORK AND DASHBOARD CODE FOR SERVICE WAS DISPLAYED. DEALER STATES A NATIONAL BACKLOG ON THE 4 LO ACTUATOR IS THE PROBLEM AND NO TIMELINE FOR THE PART IS AVAILABLE. READING MULTIPLE THREADS ON THE INTERNET THIS IS A BIGGER PROBLEM THAN JEEP IS OWNING UP TO AND THE REPAIR PART IS ONLY AT BEST A TEMPORARY FIX. THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AT A HIGHER LEVEL,I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER JEEP PRODUCT. *TR

I PURCHASED THIS USED JEEP ON JANUARY 7, 2014. ONE WEEK LATER, THE JEEP STALLED IN TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. THEN STALLED THE NEXT DAY ON A LOCAL STREET WHILE MY TEENAGERS WERE DRIVING TO SCHOOL. THEN STALLED IN TRAFFIC THE NEXT DAY WHILE I WAS TURNING ONTO A LOCAL STREET. THEN STALLED AGAIN PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY. THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR SIX WEEKS. THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH, COILS, COMPUTER SYSTEM, WIRING SYSTEM, THROTTLE. I PICKED THE CAR UP AT THE END OF MARCH, 2014. THE CAR WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL THIS PAST WEEKEND. IT STALLED AGAIN IN TRAFFIC WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING WITH FOUR PASSENGERS IN THE CAR ON APRIL 26, 2014. IT STALLED AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON SUNDAY APRIL 27, 2014. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER ON APRIL 28, 2014. THIS VEHICLE COULD HAVE CAUSED A FATALITY. IT IS NOT A SAFE VEHICLE FOR ANYONE TO DRIVE. *TR

THIS WILL BE THE 3RD ELECTRIC SHIFT MODULE PUT IN THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER THEN STALLED IN TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE, WHILE STOPPED IN TRAFFIC, WOULD SURGE. IF THE BRAKE WASN'T APPLIED, IT WOULD HAVE STRUCK THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF MINE. WHEN THE PROBLEM FIRST STARTED, THE INCIDENTS OF STALLING AND SURGING WERE MINIMAL. AS TIME WENT ON, THE INCIDENTS WERE MORE FREQUENT. THE PREVIOUS SWITCH MODULE (21030400768004143-AF) WAS REPLACED ($1067.00/DEALER ONLY PART/REPAIR COST). THE LATEST MODULE (DEALER ONLY PART COST ME $1008.04 (PART & REPAIR COST). THIS IS THE 2ND REPORT TO YOU ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR

THE CAR TURN OFF ARE STALL WHILE DRIVING. NORMALLY OCCURS WHEN FOOT IS SLIGHT ON THE PEDDLE HOWEVER ALSO ATTEMPTS TO STALL AT HIGH SPEEDS. A REVIEW OF THE INTERNET SHOWS THAT THIS LIFE THREATENING PROBLEM IS A FREQUENT EXPERIENCE AND A LONG TERM REPORTED PROBLEM. I AM HAPPY TO PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION UPON REQUEST. DOES THERE NEED TO BE A LOSE OF LIFE TO OBTAIN RELIEF OF THIS ISSUE. IS THIS ISSUE A RESULT OF DEMANDS BY THE EPA TO HAVE THESE CARS RUN AT AN IDEAL SPEED THAT IS TOO LOW? AT FIRST I THOUGHT MAYBE SOME WATER HAD GOTTEN INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT SINCE IT WAS RAINING AND SHORTED SOMETHING. STARTED BACK UP AND THOUGHT ALL WAS FINE.
