STARTING IN SEPTEMBER OF 2013 WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING AT 70MPH IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF 3, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND WE HAD TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WE GOT OF THE ROAD TO THE SIDE PUT THE JEEP IN PARK AND AFTER SEVERAL TRIES IT RESTARTED. WE HAVE NOTICED ON OCCASIONS AFTER THIS, WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO TURN THERE IS A CLUNK IN THE DRIVETRAIN. SOON AFTER THE CLUNK STARTS, THAT IS WHEN THE JEEP WILL SHUT OFF. IT HAS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND AT SIGNAL LIGHTS. AFTER THE FIRST IT SHUT OFF WE TOOK IT TO A JEEP DEALER AND THEY PUT ON IN ON THE COMPUTED BUT SAID IT DIDN'T SHOW ANYTHING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES SINCE SEPTEMBER AND YOU TAKE YOUR LIKE IN YOUR HANDS EVERYTIME YOU GET ON THE INTERSTATE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE 4WD WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY AS THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO OPERATE IN 4WD. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 13V175000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM , POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TRANSFER CASE ACTUATOR WAS REPLACED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
VEHICLE KEEPS LOOSING POWER SHIFTS INTO N STATE, PDRN ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH BOXES AND YOU HAVE TO WIGGLE SHIFTER TO REGAIN POWER. MESSAGE IS: "SERVICE PARK ASSIST". NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT THE LATEST RECALL (13V175000) LISTED IS HOWEVER, MY JEEP DOESN'T SEEM TO FALL IN THE MANUFACTURED DATE RANGE SO I AM MAKING A FORMAL COMPLAINT SINCE THIS IS KIND OF LOW MILES TO HAVE THIS KIND OF AN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IT IS HAPPENING WITH MY MANUFACTURED DATE VEHICLE. *JB
THE IGNITION SWITCH POSITION MAKES UNINTENDED POSITION CHANGES WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND HAS RESULTED IN TWO NEAR-MISS ACCIDENTS. ADDITIONALLY, ON OCCASION, THE SWITCH WON'T ALLOW THE CAR TO START, AND ALL POWER IS DEAD DESPITE A NEW BATTERY. WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE FOR A LONG TIME. RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE IN SEPT 2014, BUT CHRYSLER CONTENDS THAT PART IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE, AND THAT THE CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE! I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 1-800-853-1403 MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAVE WAITED FOR AN HOUR ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS WITHOUT A PICK UP. THIS IS ALSO NOT ACCEPTABLE. AFTER TAKING THE JEEP COMMANDER IN TO A DEALER SHIP TO GET RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 13V175000 FIXED THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN WANTING TO TURN OFF AT RANDOM. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE IN PARK OR EVEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE 1ST TIME IT HAPPEN, I WAS ACCELERATING WHILE GETTING ON THE HIGH WAY AND I WAS GOING ABOUT 40 MPH AND THE ENGINE LOST ALL POWER AND IT WAS HARD TO STEER. IT LASTED ABOUT 4 SEC AND THEN STOPPED. THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPEN WAS GOING DOWN THE HIGH WAY ABOUT 65 MPH WITH THE CRUISE ON AND IT DID THE SAME THING AND THE LAST TIME IT DID IT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. EACH TIME IT HAPPENS IT ONLY LAST ABOUT 4-5 SECS. IT JUST STARTED DOING IT RIGHT AFTER THE DEALER SHIP REPROGRAMMED THE ECM TO FIX THE RECALL. *JB
I TOOK MY 2007 JEEP COMMANDER TO GET A N23 RECALL DONE ON IT. WITHOUT CHECKING ANYTHING BEFORE I DROVE OFF THE LOT AFTER THEY DID THE UPDATE, I TRIED MY 4LO DRIVE OUT AND WOULD NOT WORK A FEW WEEKS LATER. I ADVISED THE JEEP DEALERSHIP OF THE PROBLEM BUT THEY SAID HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL. AS I LOOKED FURTHER INTO MY SITUATION IM NOT THE ONLY PERSON TO EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE WITH THIS EXACT RECALL. I HAD JEEP TAKE IT BACK IN TO LOOK OVER THE RECALL. THEY HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 2 DAYS TO TELL ME THAT ITS MY TRANSFER CASE ACTUATOR THAT HAS GONE OUT. AS I ADVISED THAT THE PAPERWORK I GAVE TO THEM REGUARDING THIS RECALL IS IN REGUARDS TO MY TRANSFER CASE ACTUATOR ELECTRICAL FAILURE. BUT THEY INSIST ITS NOW UP TO ME TO PAY AND FIX THIS MYSELF. SO NOW IM STUCK HAVING TO FORK OUT MONEY TO REPLACE A PART THATS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE RECALL THAT WAS SENT TO ME IN THE FIRST PLACE PLUS A DIAGNOSTICS FEE FOR TAKING MY JEEP BACK. SOMETHING THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP MY JEEP HAS MADE IT WORSE AND TO TOP IT OFF I'VE GOT NOTHING BUT HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR THE DEALERSHIP AND ALSO CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HAVE A PAPER IN FRONT OF MY FACE THAT SHOWS WHY THEY ARE HAVING A RECALL DUE TO THE TRANSFER CASE ACTUATOR BUT SOMEHOW NOT THE DEALERSHIP OR CHRYSLER CANT FIND SUCH THING. I TOLD THEM TO GET ON THE INTERNET AND WAS INFORMED THAT EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON THE INTERNET IS NOT TRUE. THATS WHEN I HAD ENOUGH. HOW DARE THEM SAY THAT WHEN CHRYSLERS NAME IS ON THE TOP LEFT OF THE RECALL. I FEEL NOW THAT I WAS LET DOWN BY THE DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER AND HAVE NO WHERE TO TURN TO HELP ME GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED WITHOUT PAYING OUT OF MY POCKET. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER I FIRST STARTED HAVING AN IDLING PROBLEM IN AUGUST 2013. I TOOK IN TO ALLEN SAMUELS THEY DID A TUNE-UP IT WAS FINE UNTIL MARCH OF 2014. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON I TOOK BACK TO ALLEN SAMUELS FOR IDLE PROBLEM & STALLING AS WELL. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THEY FIRST STATED FAN CLUTCH, HAD A FAN CLUTCH INSTALLED. AFTER A WEEK LATER STILL STALLING TOOK BACK TO ALLEN SAMUEL THEY THEN STATED WIRING HARNESS $1300 & THEM KEEPING IT A WEEK WITH NO LOANER. SOON AS MY MOM LEFT THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T EVEN MAKE IT HOME WHICH WAS 10 MILES AWAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON NEXT DAY BACK TO DEALERSHIP BY IT BEING A SATURDAY NO SKILL TECH IN IS WHAT I WAS TOLD. CALLED CHRYSLER BECAUSE I SAW A RECALL ON STALLING ENGINE. TUESDAY BACK TO DEALERSHIP CHRYSLER CALLED ALLEN SAMUELS THEY STATED NOT THE SAME AS THE RECALL. ALLEN SAMUEL KEPT MY TRUCK SEVERAL DAYS THEN STATED WATER IN TANK. THEY EMPTIED TANK & CLEAN IT. I HAD SERVICE MANAGER TEST DRIVE BEFORE LEAVING ITS WAS STILL STALLING WAS TOLD TO CHANGE GAS FUEL, DRIVE A COUPLE OF DAYS & BRING BACK. CALLED CHRYSLER AGAIN TO COMPLAIN THEY ADVISED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY RECOMMEND AFTER AM EXTENSIVE DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR $300 I WAS TOLD TO SEE THE SALES MANAGER FOR A NEW VEHICLE. I SINCE HAVE HAD FUEL INJECTORS CLEANED, SPARK PLUGS CHANGED, BOOTS CHANGED, NEW BATTERY, NEW WATER PUMP. IT IS STILL IDLING & STALLING. I REALLY WOULD LOVE FOR SOMEONE TO BE ABLE TO TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG & REPAIR IT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. *TR
SLOWING DOWN FOR STOPPING OR MAKING A TURN THE ENGINE STOPS; THE CAR DIES. IT HAS BEEN RESTARTING SO FAR. I AM AFRAID I AM GOING TO BE KILLED AND/OR CAUSE OTHERS TO BE KILLED. I HAVE HAD THE CAR CHECKED OUT AND THEY SAY EVERYTHING CHECKS OUT AS OK. THIS COST ME OVER $300. THEY CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS BUT WARNED ME THIS WAS NOT ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING. SURE ENOUGH IT IS STILL DYING ON ME. PLEASE HELP ME. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN A DRUNK DRIVER WHO KNOWS BEFORE HE TAKES THAT DRINK THAT HE MAY KILL SOMEONE AND AN AUTO DEALER WHO IGNORE A PROBLEM AND KILLS SOMEONE? I PURCHASEDMY 2007JEEPCOMMANDER ON AUGUST05,2013 WITH 117,578 MILES ON IT. WITHIN A WEEK, I WAS DRIVING APPROX. 30 MPHWHENINOTICEDTHEVEHICLEFEELINGLIKE IT HAD A HARD TIME ACCELERATING,WHENITSLOWED DOWN COMPLETELY BUT DID NOT SHUT OFF. PANICKING, I KEPT PRESSINGTHEACCELERATORANDMOVEDTHESHIFTER OUT OF GEAR WHEN THE VEHICLE JERKED AND RESUMED BACK UP TO SPEED. A FEW DAYS LATER THE VEHICLE, WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH COMPLETELY SLOWED DOWN AGAIN BUT DID NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND SERVICE PARK ASSIST ILLUMINATED ONTHEDASHBOARDWITHALL THE GEARS LIT UP AT THE SAME TIME AS IF SAYING THE JEEP WAS IN ALL GEARS AT THE SAME TIME. WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP, WERE THEY SCANNED THE CODE AND TOLD ME IT WASN'T A "REAL CODE" PROBABLY A COMPUTER MALFUNCTION AND IT SHOULD TURN OFF ON ITS OWN, WHICH IT DID, A DAY LATER. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 8 DIFFERENT TIMES THROUGHOUT THE 5 MONTHS OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE. FINALLY I LOOKED ONLINEFOR RECALLS, THERE IS A POWER-TRAIN AND ELECTRICAL RECALL FOR THE TIME MY JEEP WAS MANUFACTURED, EXPLAINING ALL THE SAME TROUBLES I'VE BEEN HAVING, HOWEVER WHEN I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE, I WAS ADVISED I HAD A SIDE AIRBAG RECALL BUT NOTHING ON POWER-TRAIN.WHEN I TOLD THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT THE WARRANTY WAS FOR MY VEHICLE IN THE TIME IT WAS MANUFACTURED SHE TOLD ME IT WASN'T IN THE SYSTEM AND THAT IF I WANTED IT FIXED I WOULD HAVE TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP PAY FOR IT AND KEEP MY RECEIPT AND WHEN CHRYSLER CAME OUT WITH A RECALL FOR MY JEEP I COULD COME FORWARD. MEANWHILE, I'M DRIVING AROUND IN A DOCUMENTED UNSAFE VEHICLE WITH MY 18 MONTH OLD IN THE BACK AND I HAVE TO EITHER WAIT FOR THIS CAR TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAIN AND THEY ISSUE ANOTHER RECALL. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE WAS NOT UNABLE TO BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE 3RD ROW SEAT BELT DO NOT RETRACT WHEN THE SEATS ARE BEING FOLDED DOWN WHICH CAUSES THE SEAT BELTS TO BECOME JAMMED AND TEARING THE SEATS, ALSO WHEN FIXED, THE SEAT BELT WILL BECOME LOCKED IN PLACE CAUSING A PERSON TO BECOME STUCK IN THE SEATBELT, A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, THIS PERSON WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF HIS/HER SEAT. THIS IS A DEFECT FROM JEEP AND SHOULD BE FIXED AT JEEPS EXPENSE. JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD NO PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS, BUT I FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SEAT BELTS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS ON THE ON-RAMP TO THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND LOST POWER. I WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL, ONCE IT ROLLED TO A STOP, AND IT WAS PLACED IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO START. APPROXIMATELY TWO MILES ON THE HIGHWAY, DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES AN HOUR, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AGAIN. IT RESTARTED ONCE IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT IN DRIVE. *TR
JEEP RECENTLY HAD THE GRAND CHEROKEE / COMMANDER RECALL FOR THE FINAL DRIVE CONTROL MODULE CRACKING ( N23/NHTSA 13V-175 ) AFTER I HAD THIS RECALL PERFORMED ON MY COMMANDER, THE 4WD SYSTEM HAS FAILED MULTIPLE TIMES, FLASHING "SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM" ON THE DASH. NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM PRIOR TO THE RECALL. MY JEEP HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES SINCE AND CODES CLEARED OR REFLASHED, AND WITHIN A FEW WEEKS, THE PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN. SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT WITH THE SOFTWARE IN THIS FIX. I DON'T FEEL AS IF THE FLAW HAS BEEN COMPLETELY FIXED. I HAVE ANOTHER DEALER APPOINTMENT MONDAY MORNING. UPON GOOGLING THIS RECALL, I'VE FOUND MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER WITH A CHRONIC STALLING PROBLEM. WITHIN JUST A COUPLE MONTHS OF BUYING THIS USED VEHICLE, IT STALLED FOR THE FIRST TIME ON THE NEW YORK THRUWAY GOING 70 MPH. SINCE THEN, THE VEHICLE CHRONICALLY AND RANDOMLY WILL STALL. I HAVE HAD IT STALL AS MUCH AS 7 TIMES IN THE SPACE OF GOING 12 MILES! IT WILL STALL ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH; OR STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN; VIRTUALLY ANYWHERE ANYTIME! THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. RECENTLY, I HAD IT STALL ON THE HIGHWAY; I GOT IT RESTARTED AND DROVE TO MY EXIT. AT THE END OF THE EXIT RAMP WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PROCEEDED TO ATTEMPT TO CROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION AND IT DIED AGAIN!!! I CAN'T TRUST THIS VEHICLE AND AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT MUCH. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES WITHOUT SUCCESSFULLY FIXING THE PROBLEM. MOST RECENTLY, WE LEFT THE COMMANDER AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR A WEEK AND THEY THOUGHT THEY HAD IT FIXED SO WE PICKED IT UP AND IN JUST OVER 1 DAY IT STALLED AGAIN. I WORK ONLY 6 MILES FROM HOME AND CAN'T MAKE IT HOME FROM WORK WITHOUT IT STALLING. WE HAVE PUT THOUSANDS ... AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIRS REPLACING SENSORS (INCLUDING MAP), EXHAUST PIPE WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, IGNITION SYSTEM, ... AND THE LIST GOES ON. LOOKING ON THE INTERNET, THERE ARE MANY WEBSITES AND MANY COMPLAINTS BY OTHER 2007 JEEP COMMANDER OWNERS FOR MY SAME STALLING PROBLEM. THE 2006 JEEP COMMANDER HAS HAD RECALLS FOR STALLING ... AND THIS VEHICLE (2007 COMMANDER) SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED. I CANNOT STRESS STRONGLY ENOUGH HOW HAZARDOUS THIS VEHICLE IS. WOULD YOU PLACE YOUR LIFE ... YOUR LOVED ONES LIVES ... THE ENGINE STALLS DURING OPERATION (2007 JEEP COMMANDER). *TR
YESTERDAY I WENT TO START MY JEEP AND WHEN I TURNED THE KEY NOTHING HAPPENED. A FEW SECONDS LATER IT STARTED WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING. I ONLY HAD TO DRIVE A FEW BLOCKS AND THEN SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. AFTER 15 MIN I CAME BACK OUT TO START MY JEEP AND NOTHING... I JUST HAD A NEW BATTERY AND STARTER INSTALLED ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 20 MIN AND TRYING TO START IT SEVERAL TIMES, IT TURNED ON. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS W THE LIGHTS OR AC.. I TOOK IT TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE AND THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE MACHINE, BATTERY, STARTER, AND ALTERNATOR WERE ALL READING GOOD. IT STARTED FINE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY, HOWEVER WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE WORK THAT NIGHT, IT TOOK A FEW TRIES AND ABOUT 5 MIN. I ALSO HAD OVER HALF A TANK OF GAS SO THAT'S NOT AN ISSUE. MY CAR HAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL TWICE WHILE MOVING, ONCE WHILE I WAS TRAVELING 25 MPH AND ONCE AT 70 MPH. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND CHRYSLER. I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE FOR OVER A 1.5 YEARS. I'VE ONLY HAD THE JEEP FOR 2 YEARS. IT HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. DRIVING ON TOLL ROAD AT 65-70 MPH WHEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ENGINE STALLED, NO POWER STEERING, HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I AM WRITING TO EXPRESS MY CONCERN REGARDING AN ENGINE PROBLEM WITH MY 2007 JEEP COMMANDER, THAT CAUSES THE ENGINE TO STALL, AND ALL POWER TO SHUT DOWN AND THE ENGINE TO COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. WHILE AT FIRST THIS PROBLEM WAS SIMPLY AN INCONVENIENCE, I SOON LEARNED HOW DANGEROUS THIS PROBLEM ACTUALLY IS. I WAS ON A HIGHWAY AND I WENT TO PASS ANOTHER CAR, MID-PASS MY ENGINE STALLED AND I LOST ALL POWER WITH ANOTHER CAR COMING AT ME HEAD-ON. THANKFULLY THE OTHER CAR WAS ABLE TO STOP AND WE AVOIDED A HEAD-ON COLLISION AT HIGHWAY SPEED, BUT THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DIFFERENT. THE STALLING HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH MY JEEP NOW FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS, WITH NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM IN SIGHT. I HAVE FOLLOWED ALL SUGGESTIONS LIKE NOT HAVING A KEY CHAIN AND ONLY USING HE KEY IN MY IGNITION WITH NO CHANGE IN THE FREQUENCY OF THE STALLING. IT SEEMS A BIT RIDICULOUS THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO SOLUTION TO THIS VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. A CASE WAS OPENED BY CHRYSLER IN JANUARY REGARDING MY 2007 JEEP COMMANDER STALLING WITHOUT WARNING. THE STALLING CONTINUES TO BE A VERY DANGEROUS AND UNPREDICTABLE PROBLEM FOR ME. IN MY LAST COMMUNICATION I WAS ASSURED THAT MY JEEP WOULD BE FIXED WHEN THE PART BECAME AVAILABLE, I HAVE HEARD NOTHING SINCE JANUARY. IDLE AIR CONTROL (IAC) VALVE, THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS), AND EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) VALVES HAVE BEEN REPLACED SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH NO CHANGE. ONLY WAY TO DRIVE IS TO MANUALLY SHIFT TO KEEP RPMS ABOVE 2,000 WHILE DRIVING AND TO USE BOTH THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS TO KEEP RPM ABOVE 1,200 WHEN AT STOPS. NO OBD2 SERVICE CODES ARE EVER TRIGGERED. *TR

THE ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED BY THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP: FOUR OF THE BOLTS ATTACHING THE MANIFOLD ONTO THE HEMI 5.7L ENGINE OF OUR COMMANDER WERE BROKEN. WHEN I SHIFTED BACK TO DRIVE THERE WAS NO RESPONSE ONCE AGAIN. I MANAGED TO MAKE IT HOME AT 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS PERIODICALLY AND SHOWS NO SERVICE ENGINE CODE. I ALSO HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM WHERE THE LIGHTS ON DASH SHOW [P][R][N][D] AND THE JEEP APPEARS TO GO INTO A "LIMP" MODE WITH NO RESPONSE...THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING - USUALLY SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL AND BACK TO PARK CORRECTS THE SITUATION. AT THE END OF THE DAY WHEN I STARTED IT UP TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE WARNING "CHECK GAUGES" WAS GONE. I TOLD THE SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND THAT ITS BEEN STALLING OUT. THEY CALLED THE NEXT DAY AND SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I DRIVE THE CAR EVERYDAY AND THERE IS SOME VERY WRONG WITH THE CAR. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CHILDREN IN IT AND WE DON'T TAKE IT ON THE HIGHWAY NOW. I WOULDN'T FEEL RIGHT TRADING IT IN AND GIVING SOMEONE ELSE THE DEATH TRAP. I HAVE CONTACTED SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS OVER THE YEARS AND NO ONE WILL FIX IT. THEY SAY THERE IS NO FIX. I FEEL MY LIFE IS IN DANGER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED AS ALL OF THE WARNING LAMPS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V175000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM , POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 121,000.
