ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS MY 2007 JEEP COMMANDER WITH 4.7 LITER V8 HAS STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. IT HAS HAPPENED AT IDLE, WHILE SLOWING, WHILE ACCELERATING, AND WHILE DRIVING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS (60-70 MPH). EACH TIME IT HAS RESTARTED AFTER TAKING THE TRANSMISSION OUT OF GEAR, TURNING THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION, AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE. THIS IS POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS IF IT HAPPENS UNDER THE WRONG CIRCUMSTANCES SINCE YOU, OF COURSE, UNEXPECTEDLY LOSE POWER ASSIST ON BOTH BRAKES AND STEERING WHEN THE ENGINE DIES. *TR
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. DROVE 1.5 MILES TO GAS STATION. TURNED CAR OFF. FUELED. CAR WOULD NOT START. MESSAGE ON DISPLAY: TRANSMISSION OVER TEMPERATURE. 30 MINUTES LATER CAR STARTED. NEXT INCIDENT OCCURRED TODAY (4/2/12). CAR WAS PARKED FOR 10.5 HOURS BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO START. CAR WOULD NOT START. MESSAGE ON DISPLAY: TRANSMISSION OVER TEMPERATURE. CAR STILL WON'T START THREE HOURS LATER. CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE BECAUSE OF RECALL H03 (SIMILAR SYMPTOMS). THEY STATED THAT MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. IF ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, THEN THEY WILL ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE IS INTERUPTED, THE SERVICE PARK ASSIST SYSTEM COMES ON THE DISPLAY. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON FOR SEVERAL DAYS. THIS HAS HAPPEND TO ME AND MY WIFE AT LEAST FIVE TIMES IN THE LAST 8 WEEKS. WE HAVE TO PULL OVER AND SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE, RESTART AND CONTINUE ON. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN PULLING OUT NOT TO HAVE ACCELERATION WHEN YOU SHOULD. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TRACKED THE PROBLEM TO THE ELECTRONIC SHIFT MODULE. AS USUAL ITS NOT COVERED. ITS VERY DISSAPOINTING TO SPEND MONEY MAINTAINING YOUR VEHICLE PER THE RECCOMENDATION OF THE MANUFACTURER JUST TO HAVE TO REPLACE PARTS THAT CANNOT BE MAINTAINED. *TR
AFTER COMING HOME FROM WORK AROUND 8:30 PM, I WAS AWAKENED 3 HOURS LATER TO THE LIGHTS OF A FIRE ENGINE AND THE SOUND OF MY VEHICLE'S ALARM BECAUSE OF A FIRE IN MY FRONT SEAT . THE FIRE DEPARTMENT'S REPORT STATED THAT THERE WAS INDEED A MALFUNCTION OF THE HEATED SEATS. I CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY, AND THEY DETERMINED IT A TOTAL LOSS. I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER'S CLAIMS GROUP, AND UPON THEIR INVESTIGATION, STATED THAT IS WAS NOT THEIR FAULT OR MINE AND IT WAS NOTHING THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR. *TR
WHILE DRIVING 70MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY, MY CAR SUDDENLY STALLED. I WAS FORCED TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY STOP ON THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. UNLUCKY FOR ME, WHERE MY CAR DECIDED TO STALL WAS NEAR THE OFF RAMP OF THE HIGHWAY, UNDER A BRIDGE. IT WAS QUITE A DANGEROUS POSITION TO BE IN. THE JEEP DEALERSHIP DECIDED THAT IT WAS A THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER AND MY CAR IS RANDOMLY STALLING AGAIN AND THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHY. I'VE HAD MY SHIFT ASSEMBLY FULLY REPLACED AS WELL AS A NEW STARTER. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE ISSUES THAT I AM FACING AND WHY SO LITTLE IS KNOWN BY THE JEEP DEALERSHIP WHEN THIS SUV HAS BEEN OUT FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. *TR

THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE OVER HEATING ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,500.

DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON TOLLWAY AND VEHICLE STALLED AND STEERING WHEEL COLUMN LOCKED UP. THIS HAPPENED TWO DAYS AGO AND IS OCCURRING MORE OFTEN. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN LOCKS AS YOU ARE DRIVING. IT HAS HAPPENED FOUR MORE TIMES. I NOW DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWENTY TIMES OVER A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE, VEHICLE LOST POWER. DASH DISPLAY MESSAGE APPEARED "SERVICE PARK ASSIST SYSTEM" AND VEHICLE GEAR DISPLAY INDICATED THE P R N D WERE ALL ILLUMINATED. THE ENGINE STAYED RUNNING BUT WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL, DECELERATING. TURNED ON HAZARD LIGHTS AND PULLED OVER, PLACED VEHICLE IN PARK, SHIFTED TO DRIVE, AND CONTINUED AS NORMAL. A SHORT TIME LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT, AND HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES SINCE THEN AND IN MANY DIFFERENT DRIVING SITUATIONS. FOR EXAMPLE, AFTER PULLING INTO TRAFFIC ON A HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, CAUSING THE TRAFFIC BEHIND TO NEARLY SLAM INTO US. IF ACCELERATION HAD BEEN AVAILABLE AS NORMAL, THIS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE. ANOTHER EXAMPLE, THE PROBLEM HAPPENED DURING HEAVY RUSH HOUR INTERSTATE TRAFFIC, CAUSING THE NEED TO CROSS SEVERAL LANES TO REACH A BREAKDOWN LANE. IT HAS HAPPENED IMMEDIATELY UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE AND AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RUNNING NORMALLY FOR A LONG TIME. IT IS VERY UNPREDICTABLE. THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO PROVIDE POWER OR ACCELERATION WHEN IT IS NEEDED. PRIVATE SHOP CHECKED THE FAULT CODES AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. INTERNET RESEARCH SHOWS THIS EXACT PROBLEM WITH THESE EXACT SYMPTOMS IS COMMON AND WIDESPREAD IN THE 2007 JEEP COMMANDER AND APPEARS TO INDICATE A FAULTY ELECTRONIC SHIFTER MODULE. CHRYSLER RESPONSE TO THE PROBLEM IS HIT AND MISS, SOME DEALERS ACKNOWLEDGING THEY HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE, OTHERS CLAIMING THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN IT AND THE PROBLEM IS ISOLATED AND NOT WIDESPREAD. THERE NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL ON THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED, IF THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY. WE USED THIS VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT OUR CHILDREN AND NOW WE CAN'T EVEN TRUST IT TO SAFELY GET US TO THE SHOP TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. *TR
THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING SUDDENLY AND HAS CHOKED AND LUNGED FORWARD WHILE STOPPED. THIS IS SCARY'. I DON'T WANT TO HURT ANYONE AND I HAVE NEVER HAD TO FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM DUE TO AN ACCIDENT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THIS JEEP. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY FOUND NO PROBLEM. I CONTACTED JEEP IN HOPES THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. I LOVE THE VEHICLE, BUT SCARED TO TAKE THIS RISK OF AN ACCIDENT AND POSSIBLE DEATH OR DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY DUE TO NO FAULT OF MINE. DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND I LOST ALL POWER. CONTINUED TO RUN AND STALLED 5 MINUTES LATER ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *TR
ON AT LEAST 4 OCCASIONS MY JEEP HAS STALLED (NOT SURE OF DATES). IT HAS HAPPENED MAINLY WHEN I TRY TO START MOVING FROM A STOP. IT HAS NOT STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS AN AIR LOCK OR BAD GAS BUT AFTER READING THE MANY COMPLAINTS AND DANGEROUS SITUATIONS I SEE IT MUST BE THE IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED BY CHRYSLER I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT IT WHEN MY JEEP WAS IN FOR REPAIRS ON ANOTHER PROBLEM. I RESEARCH THIS THEN CALLED THE DEALER AND HE SAID YES THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS JUST WAIT TILL THEY COME IN THEN CHRYSLER WILL SEND ME A NOTICE. THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS. IS THIS GOING TO BE ANOTHER GM TYPE SITUATION WITH PEOPLE KILLED. LETS GET THE PARTS AND FIX THEM. *TR
VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT A SPEED OF SIXTY FIVE MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, WHEN THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF, LOSING POWER AND MAKING IT VERY HARD TO GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND STOPPED SAFELY. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE YEAR WE HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO TURN BECAUSE POWER STEERING IS DISABLED BECAUSE THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING. WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO GET TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY WITHOUT ANY ENGINE POWER AND THE SUDDEN SLOWING DOWN IS A VERY HIGH RISK FOR A REAREND COLLISION. WE HAVE HAD NUMEROUS CLOSE CALLS IN THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE REPLACED NUMEROUS PARTS TO TRY AND RESOLVE THIS ISSUE BUT WITH NO SUCCESS IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIXED AND THEY SAY (WE CAN NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO ACT UP WITH THE TECHNICIAN DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO EXACTLY PIN POINT THE PROBLEM.) THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH THIS ISSUE. I HAVE LOOKED UP NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND ISSUES OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE HAVING IDENTICAL PROBLEMS AND HAVE YET TO BE RESOLVED. WE HAVE REPLACED SPARK PLUGS, COILS, MAP SENSOR, MDS WIRING HARNESS, IGNITION SWITCH WITH OEM PARTS AND THE ISSUE STILL CONTINUES. I RECOMMEND FAULTY ENGINE WIRING, ECM, TO THE SERVICE ADVISORS JUST TO BE IGNORED. THEY TELL ME UNTIL THE ISSUE IS RECORDED ON THE VEHICLE SCANNER THAT NOTHING CAN BE DONE TO PIN POINT THE PROBLEM. *TR
I'M DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED ALONG WITH OTHER VINS OF IT'S MAKE. IT HAS STALLING ISSUES. IT DIES GOING ANY SPEED AT ANY TIME. I'VE OWNED IT FOR JUST OVER A YEAR AND HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM SINCE MONTH ONE. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN PARTS INCLUDING, ALL SENSORS, COMPUTER, CONTROL MODULE AND WIRE HARNESS HAS BEEN REPLACED AND IT IS STILL GOING ON. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL CRYSLER REPS FROM DETROIT DOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP ITS AT TO LOOK TO HELP FIND THE PROBLEM BUT THEY'VE SCRATCHED THEIR HEADS AND SUGGEST WE JUST TRADE IT IN. WE ARE THE 4TH OWNERS OF THIS AND CARFAX WOULD SUGGEST THAT'S WHAT THE PREVIOUS OWNERS WERE TOLD TO DO JUST TRADE IT IN AND LET SOMEONE ELSE GET THE DEATH TRAP. I PAY $600 A MONTH FOR A VEHICLE I CANT DRIVE BECAUSE ITS NOT SAFE TO TRADE IN AND LETTING IT GO IS NOT AN OPTION. CRYSLER IS DOING NOTHING TO HELP WITH THIS ISSUE AND ACT LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM THO JEEP FORUMS WOULD SUGGEST OTHER WISE. THIS WAS A KNOW ISSUE IN 06-08 COMMANDERS AND LIBERTYS AS WELL. WARRANTY WONT DO ANYTHING TIL THE DEALERSHIP CAN PIN POINT WHAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THIS IS WHY ALLEN SAMUELS HAS PAID FOR ALL THE PARTS THEMSELVES. THEY SAY THEIR OUT OF OPTIONS THERES NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO BUT I CAN'T DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE WITH CHILDREN. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND RESUME IN OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWENTY TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE COULD POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE PRIMARY CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY INFORMED THERE WAS NOT A RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
VEHICLE HAS LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING, ENGINE SHUTS DOWN, NO ELECTRICAL POWER AND HAD TO COAST TO A STOP. VEHICLE RESTARTS AFTER TURNING KEY TO OFF AND THEN RESTARTING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW, THE FIRST TIME ON FEB. 20TH, 2012 AND YESTERDAY MAR.10TH, 2012. *TR *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE AND THE FAILURE CEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE SHIFT MODULAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES AND UP TO TWICE A DAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE RELAY MINI WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DIFFERENT DEALER AND WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH THEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY CAR HAS STALLED AND ALL GEAR BOXES WILL LIGHT UP WITH A MESSAGE SAYING "SERVICE PARK ASSIST" SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL BEEP AND OTHER TIMES IT WON'T. USUALLY THIS HAPPENS WHEN I AM IN MOTION DRIVING BUT AT TIMES WILL ALSO HAPPEN WHEN FIRST PUTTING IT INTO GEAR. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL ALSO COME ON. I HAVE TRIED TAKING IT IN SEVERAL TIMES BUT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT WILL STOP DOING IT BEFORE I GET TO THE SHOP. SOMETIMES IF I AM STOPPED AT A LIGHT THE CAR WILL SWITCH BACK AND FOURTH FROM STALLING AND THEN BACK INTO GEAR WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING USUALLY TO MAKE THE CAR RETURN TO GEAR YOU HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON IT CAN TAKE A COUPLE TIMES OF DOING THIS TO MAKE IT CORRECT. SOMETIMES WHEN IT SWITCHES OUT OF GEAR AND STALLS THERE WILL BE A LOUD SOUND THE CAR WILL JERK IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING UNDER THE CAR IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURIES OR DEATH I HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO QUICKLY PULL OVER EVERY TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND HAVE A RECALL THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM ALL OVER THE WEB. *TR

THE VEHICLE STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE CONTACT REPORTED THE SAFETY CONCERN TO THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER MORE THAN FIVE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
WHILE TRAVELING AT 40MPH MY 2007 JEEP COMMANDER LOST POWER ACCELERATOR WOULD NO RESPOND THE SERVICE PARK ASSIST MESSAGE CAME ON AS DID THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ALL THE GEAR INDICATORS IN THE DASH LIT UP. I STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND AFTER I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED IT WAS FINE FOR A FEW MORE MILES AND IT DID IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY JEEP DEALER AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND FOUND IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND I JUST HAD TO PAY $1,329.59 TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I WAS LUCKY I WAS DRIVING ON SIDE STREETS AS IN TRAFFIC OR ON THE HIGHWAY IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME, THAT THE PCM NEEDED TO BE CHANGED AND THERE WAS NO RECALL. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2006 MODEL BUT NONE ON MINE (2007). I HAD A FEARFUL INCIDENT AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE PASSING LANE IN MY 2007 JEEP COMMANDER GOING APPROX. 60 MILES PER HOUR. EVERY TIME I TOOK THE CAR IN THEY HAD A DIFFICULT TIME DUPLICATING THE PROBLEM. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ALSO ILLUMINATE BUT WHEN CHECKED NO CODES COULD BE FOUND. SUPER FRUSTRATING AND SCARY TO DEAL W/ THIS. IN JULY/AUG 2013 THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE WHEN I WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT. OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL FLASH A WARNING SAYING SERVICE PARK ASSIST SYSTEM. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE GEAR DISPLAY ON THE DASH PRND WILL ALL 4 GET CIRCLED AND FLASH AND THEN AS YOU ARE ACCELERATING YOU CAN FEEL THE VEHICLE LOSE SPEED. YOU CAN NO LONGER ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE AND HAVE TO COAST OFF THE ROAD. ONCE YOU STOP AND SHIFT TO PARK THEN BACK TO DRIVE IT WILL RESET AND THEN ALLOW YOU TO ACCELERATE. I WAS GOING 65 ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED LAST AND THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. FOR ABOUT THE PAST 30,000-40,000 K MILES WE HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH IT SHIFTING PROPERLY AND EVERY TIME WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY CAN NEVER RE CREATE THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE LEAK HOWEVER, DID NOT LIST THE EXACT REPAIRS. A FEW MONTHS LATER, THE LEAK RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE A LEAK AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
THIS LOUD CLUNKING NOISE AND VIBRATION ON DOWNSHIFTING HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A LONG TIME. HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SLOWING DOWN AND THE TRANSMISSION IS DOWNSHIFTING. A PRONOUNCED CLUNK TWO TIMES AS I SLOW DOWN. I HAVE TAKEN THE JEEP TO THE DEALER AND VARIOUS REPAIR FACILITIES AND IT CAN'T BE FIXED. THE JEEP PEOPLE CLAIM THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE. I FEEL THEY ARE STONEWALLING ME. I HAVE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS AND IT'S UNNERVING ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE JEEP. "WHY DON'T YOU GET IT FIXED THEY ASK"
