2007 JEEP COMMANDER ENGINE STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING INTERMITTENTLY. *TR
VEHICLE STALLS RANDOMLY. STALLS AT STOP LIGHTS, WHILE DRIVING AT ALL SPEEDS, EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE AT A TRAFFIC STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED BUT WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,400.
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS ON ABOUT 20 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, AND SEEMS TO BE WORSE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC OR AT A COMPLETE STOP. WHILE DRIVING IT WILL STALL AND ACT AS IF IT IS GOING TO DIE. IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE AT A COMPLETE STOP BUT HAS BEEN GRADUALLY DOING MORE WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN THREE DIFFERENT TIMES. USUALLY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. HAS STARTED DOING IT NOW AT ACCELERATED SPEEDS. REPLACED SPARK PLUGS WITH NO CHANGE. TOOK TO AUTO ZONE AND READ NOTHING ON THEIR COMPUTER. IT SEEMS OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE AND I CANT BELIEVE THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS SINCE IT WOULD CAUSE A SAFETY ISSUE. IT DOES NOT SEEM THAT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED CORRECTLY YET FROM READING THE OTHER COMPLAINTS AND JEEP SHOULD HAVE TO BE MADE TO LOOK INTO THIS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT AND WITH TIME BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
DRIVING AT 55 MPH AND SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND STALLED. THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE LIGHT. I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CAME TO A STOP. I STARTED THE VEHICLE RIGHT BACK UP AND DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT FOUND A STORED CODE THAT THEY SENT TO CHRYSLER FOR CLARIFICATION. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THEY HEARD FROM CHRYSLER WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE ENGINE WAS RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THIRD ROW LOCKED WHILE PULLING IT OUT AND IT WOULD NOT COME OUT COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BELT MECHANISM WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
A WOMAN MADE A LEFT HAND TURN IN FRONT OF OUR CAR, CUTTING US OFF, CAUSING MY FRONT END TO CRASH INTO THE SIDE OF HER CAR. WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 35 MILES AN HOUR, THE SPEED LIMIT, AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. BECAUSE OF THIS MY PASSENGER AND I HIT THE DASH. THE FRONT END LOOKED TO BE TOTALED.
MY 2007 COMMANDER RUNS PERFECT WHEN COLD BUT AFTER 1 1/2 HOURS OF BEING ON THE ROAD IT BEGINS TO RUN HORRIBLY. IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THE ENGINE BUCKS, SOMETIMES DIES OFF AND HAS A COMPLETE LACK OF POWER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES, SOMETIMES I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND REV THE ENGINE AND THEN IT IS FINE FOR A WHILE AND THE MIL LIGHT GOES OFF. SOMETIMES ON TURNS THE ENGINE SPUTTERS IN THE INTERSECTION WHICH HAS LED TO SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS OF BEING HIT BY THE ONCOMING VEHICLE. SOMETIMES ON THE FREEWAY, CLIMBING A SLIGHT INCLINE THE ENGINE SPUTTERS AND I LOSE SPEED AND CRAWL TO THE RIGHT LANE, AGAIN SOMETIME I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND REV THE ENGINE, SLAM IT IN DRIVE AND SOMETIME THAT WORKS. MY MECHANIC HAS HAD THE PCM TESTED, CHANGED SPARK PLUGS, COILS, OXYGEN SENSORS, ADDED EXTRA GROUND WIRES, CLEARED THE WIRING FOR SHORTS, CLEANED ALL ENGINE CONNECTORS INCLUDING INJECTORS PLUGS AND ROAD TEST THE VEHICLE WITH THE SCANNER CONNECTED. STATED THAT OTHER THAN PICKING UP DTC P300B THE DATA STREAM ON THE SCANNER SHOWED NO ABNORMALITIES. THERE HAS BEEN NO CHANGE IN THE PERFORMANCE OF MY COMMANDER. I WILL BE CALLING THE DEALER TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE UNDER MY 8YEAR/80,000 MILE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL SHOP WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,700 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE WAS SPORADIC. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER MADE UPDATES TO THE COMPUTER AND DISCOVERED A FAULTY WIRING HARNESS, WHICH WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT DID NOT FEEL SAFE OPERATING THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE VEHICLE STALLING AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,500.
IT WAS A RAINY DAY. I PULLED MY CAR IN TO THE GARAGE AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. PULLED OUT THE KEY AND ENTERED MY HOUSE. THE GARAGE IS CONNECTED TO MY HOME. I CAME BACK TO THE GARAGE SOME TIME LATER TO FIND THE ENGINE WAS STILL ON. I RAN TO THE DRIVERS SEAT TO SEE NO KEY IN THE IGNITION AND VERIFIED THE REMOTE ENGINE FEATURE WASN'T ENGAGED, IT IS DESIGNED TO TURNOFF AFTER THE CAR DOOR IS OPEN FOR A SHORT TIME. THE ENGINE WOULDN'T SHUT OFF. I BROUGHT IT TO MY HUSBAND, WHO DROVE IT A BIT AND COULD NOT GET THE ENGINE OFF. EVENTUALLY IT SELF CORRECTED. A TRULY DANGEROUS ISSUE SINCE THIS CAR IS PARKED IN MY HOME. WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER ABOUT 4 TIMES, AND WHILE THE ENGINE HASN'T DONE THAT AGAIN, VARIOUS PARTS OF THE CAR TURN ON SPONTANEOUSLY. A SINGLE HEAD LIGHT, A SINGLE BRAKE LIGHT, ALL THE LIGHTS. IT SEEMS THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NO LONGER HAS FULL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND THAT IS DANGEROUS. I BELIEVE MY CAR IS JUST ONE OF MANY 2007 JEEPS THAT ARE HAVING ENORMOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, MY CASE JUST ILLUSTRATES HOW DANGEROUS THIS COULD BE. A CAR ENGINE RUNNING SPONTANEOUSLY IS UNACCEPTABLE AND IT IS CLEAR THIS IS JUST A SYMPTOM OF A COMMON PROBLEM TO ALL THESE JEEPS. *TR
THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE BEING DRIVEN THE FIRST TIME THE SAME MONTH IT WAS PURCHASED. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM WHO SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND A CODE AND SENT IT BACK TO ME. IT HAS STALLED NUMEROUS OTHER TIMES IN THE 5 MONTHS MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT INCLUDING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS, MOUNTAIN ROADS AND IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. JUST SUDDENLY STOPS RUNNING. HAVE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. TURN KEY TO OFF POSITION AND RESTART. NO PROBLEMS RE-STARTING. HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER TWO MORE TIMES WITH THE SAME RESULT (NO CODE; NO WORK; SENT HOME). CALLED CHRYSLER WHO ALSO SAID THEY COULDN'T HELP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL SPORADICALLY WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR REPAIRS BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE MANUFACTURER REPLACED THE MAP SENSOR AND THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR WITH NO SUCCESS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
AT RANDOM TIMES, WHEN TRYING TO START THE JEEP IT WONT START AND SAY TRANSMISSION OVER TEMP. AT FIRST IT WOULD TAKE A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE IT WOULD START AGAIN. I USED IT FOR A FEW MORE DAYS AND IT DID THE SAME THING. A COUPLE HOURS LATER IT STARTED BACK UP. AFTER A FEW MORE TIMES OF HAPPENING IVE NOTICED YOU CAN PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND BACK IN PARK AND SOMETIMES IT RESTARTS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS LOOKED AT IT AND SAID THEY HAD ANOTHER ONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM BUT NO FIX FOR IT.
2007 JEEP COMMANDER LIMITED. VEHICLE BEGAN STALLING WITH NO WARNING AT LOW SPEEDS. JEEP DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. COMPUTER JEEP ENGINEERS HAVE WORKED WITH THE DEALER AND THEY ALSO HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. I HAVE SPENT ROUGHLY $5000.00 REPLACING MODULES, ETC THAT THEY THINK MAY BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THE ONLY THING THIS HAS DONE IS AGGRAVATE THE PROBLEM. THE LAST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE PASSING A DOUBLE TANKER TRUCK ON A TWO LANE ROAD, ENGINE STALLED AT THE TIME I WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE TRUCK. ONLY THING I COULD DO WAS SINCE I WAS GOING DOWNHILL, MY MOMENTUM TOOK ME PAST THE TRUCK, I CUT IN FRONT OF HIM AND MADE IT OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND STOPPED. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START UNTIL I PUT IT INTO PARK, PULLED THE KEY AND RESTARTED IT. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE DEALER'S SHOP MORE THAN OUT OF IT FOR THE LAST 15 MONTHS-THEY'RE STYMIED AND FRUSTRATED WITH JEEP ENGINEERS. COMMENT MADE BY JEEP'S CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE: " ON MY, THAT'S DANGEROUS". IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING THAT JEEP WILL NOT ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND FIX IT, ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY HAVE RECALLED OTHER MODELS/YEARS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. ALSO FRUSTRATING THAT THEY WON'T GO ONLINE AND LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE DRIVING THESE PROBLEM VEHICLES. THEIR COMMENT IS- YOU CAN'T PUT ANY STOCK IN WHAT YOU READ ONLINE. IT'S FOR SURE THAT I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER JEEP NOR WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE-EXCEPT MAYBE SOMEONE I DIDN'T LIKE. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER HAD IT FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS ,BOUGHT IT USED. ON APRIL 30,2011 MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE DRIVING HOME ON THE HWY; DRIVER SEAT RECLINED ME INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. HAD I NOT BEEN A SMALL LADY I WOULD HAVE BEEN STUCK UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL OR MAY BE DEAD, HOSPITALIZED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED, ALONG WITH MY DAUGHTER. UPDATED 05/11/11 *BF *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE CONTACT STATED A SUDDEN ACCELERATION HAD OCCURRED THREE TIMES PRIOR AND EXPRESSED CONCERN OVER A POTENTIAL CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.

I OWN A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER 4 X 4 3.7L. AFTER HAVING SOME ISSUES WITH, WHAT I THOUGHT WAS THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING, I CHECKED AND ADDED TRANS. FLUID AND HAD BOTH TRANS LINES REPLACED DUE TO LEAKING. EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE OK FOR A COUPLE WEEKS, UNTIL I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND NOT ONLY WAS THERE A DELAY WHEN I WOULD TRY TO ACCELERATE, THE SERVICE PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM MESSAGE APPEARED A COUPLE TIMES, ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 30 MILES PER HOUR AND THE RPMS WOULD RUN ABOVE 2 ON THE DASH. I PARKED, TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, HOPING IT WOULD RESET THE SYSTEM, BUT IT STILL CONTINUED TO REPEAT THE SAME THINGS WHEN I TURNED EVERYTHING BACK ON AGAIN. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. THEN AFTER 10 MINUTES PASSED, I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE FROM THE STOP, ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED, THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WAS GOING TO STALL. I STARTED RESEARCHING THE SYMPTOMS THAT I WAS HAVING AND IT SEEMS TO BE RECURRING IN MANY 2007 JEEP COMMANDERS. MOST OF THE COMPLAINTS THAT I READ ABOUT, STATE THAT THE DEALER TOLD THEM THE EITHER THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE OR THE ELECTRONIC SHIFT MODULE WAS FAULTY. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE FURTHER. MY JEEP IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 50K MILES ON IT AND FOR A SERIOUS PROBLEM LIKE THIS TO BE GOING ON WITH SO FEW MILES, THIS JUST DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING IN "DRIVE" THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE. ON THE DASH BOARD ALL THE GEAR 123D HAD LIT UP SQUARES AROUND THEM. WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR NOTHING HAPPENED. THIS CAN CAUSE A CRASH AND POSSIBLY KILL SOMEBODY INCLUDING MY FAMILY. I ENDED UP HAVING TO PULL TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT. WHEN I DID THIS EVERYTHING WORKED NORMALLY. I HAVE HEARD OF PROBLEMS LIKE THIS BEFORE. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED FROM A VOLKSWAGEN DEALER WHO TOLD ME THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY WAS TRANSFERABLE. IT IS NOT. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 44000 MILES ON IT AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT IS SO UNSAFE. PLEASE HELP.. NO WORK HAS BEEN DONE ON THIS VEHICLE DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS, A WARRANTY AND EVERY TIME I CALL A JEEP DEALER AND ASK THEM WHAT IT IS I GET A DIFFERENT ANSWER AND I DON'T BELIEVE THAT THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. *TR
I OWN A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER AND NOW IT WILL SHIFT IN LOW SPEED MODE WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE THE DEALER REST IT AND IT DID IT AGAIN WHILE COMING HOME. THE REPLACEMENT OF THIS MODULE IS 1000 DOLLARS AND WITH ONLY 104K MILES I FEEL THAT FOR SAFETY AND RELIABILITY THIS SHOULD IS ON RECALL. THIS JEEP IS ONLY 4 YRS OLD AND TO EARLY FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO ADVISED HER THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND PIN POINT WHAT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 111,000.

THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF COMPLETELY AND RESTARTED IT. THE FAILURE SEEMED TO CORRECT ITSELF AFTER IT WAS TURNED BACK ON. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE ABS, ESP AND THE SLIPPERY WHEN WET WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. SHE THEN ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WHEEL SUDDENLY LOCKED AND BEGAN TO EXHIBIT AN UNUSUAL GRINDING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO HAD NOT YET CONTACTED HER BACK WITH A DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,800.
2007 JEEP COMMANDER ENGINE STALLING PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE INITIALLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH. IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR APPROXIMATELY 8 WEEKS AND CONTINUES TO STALL WHILE DRIVING, IDLING, AND TURNING. IT HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THEY CONTINUE TO REPLACE THINGS AT RANDOM THAT ARE NOT CORRECTING THE PROBLEM AND HAVE TOLD US THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING IT TO CONTINUALLY STALL. SO FAR EVERY TIME IT HAS STALLED IT HAS STARTED RIGHT BACK UP BUT MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT IT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF I CAN'T GET IT OFF THE RIDE WHEN IT STALLS WHILE DRIVING. *TR
