Car would turn on all lights in car while driving and shut off, recently the car will not start at all and is having engine issues.
The car broke down the very first day I got it! The alternator had to be changed I took it back to Auto connection where I got it from and they replaced it. Since then the car has been breaking down, I have had to pay for out of pocket for a new thermostat, another alternator, hoses, fuel pump, and I have only had the car a yr. Now it’s making a loud hissing noise after I just paid for brand new spark plugs and it’s not accelerating and ver 40/45 mph! Which is costing me more money to pay for a uber to work and everywhere I need to go while still making car payments! My insurance doesn’t handle these repairs. I need immediate help please!
My car stalls while driving often. I’ve also experienced my car shutting off while driving a few times. It sometimes shows a red lightning bolt. I am very scared for my life and the lives of other drivers while I drive this vehicle because I never know if or when my car will stall in the middle of me driving at speeds above 50 miles per hour. The car will usually stall for about 10-15seconds and then power back on, but sometimes the car just shuts off and slows down so I have to pull over because it wont accelerate since the car just shut off. After pulling over, I wait bout 10 minutes and turn the car on and it’s fine. I took it to a mechanic multiple times and they can’t find the issue. They said they can only see what I’m talking about if the dash shows the check engine light but my check engine light is not on. This vehicle is not safe and I’m so afraid of the car shutting off mid driving. This started 2 years ago but the shut offs and stalls have been more frequent this year. Mechanics kept telling me it was probably spark plugs and we’ve changed those and the coils more than 6 times.
1.Electrical: the touch screen, which is used for the radio & backup camera, is completely shot. One day in May, I was driving my car & the screen went from working to a fuzzy image & then to it going completely black. The radio stopped working as well. The lights around the screen (connected to the buttons) work but tend to flicker every now & then. This is a safety risk for myself & my family because I don’t have the extra support & awareness to backup with confidence or warnings. It hasn’t been looked at by anyone & there were no warnings prior to failure. It has been a consistent failure since then. 2. Engine: Jeep keeps overheating. Has been since April. It was inspected by a mechanic & also paid to have it “fixed” however the problem persists. It is a safety issue because my car could overheat & stop working & cause issues with other drivers. I also have a 5 yo & we have to drive around with the windows down & heat on no matter the weather. Sometimes we get home & her face is bright red. Sometimes the warning light comes on & the fluid is at the appropriate level. 3. Tire pressure in at least one of my tires is always low. I receive a warning light almost every time I drive. These are brand new tires. After I fill up the tire, it is only “fixed” approx 1 day before the light comes back on. It was checked by mechanic & he stated there were no issues he could find. This has been ongoing since December 2021. This is a safety issue because I could get a flat tire & crash into other vehicles or cause an accident. Jeep is available for inspection upon request for all issues.
MY ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM FAULT INDICATOR, STABILITY CONTROL INDICATOR AND 4 WHEEL DRIVE (WITH EXCLAMATION POINT) INDICATOR ARE ON WHEN ENGINE STARTS. WITHIN 15 SECONDS OF ME DRIVING, ALL INDICATOR LIGHTS BRIEFLY TURN OFF. THAT IS FOLLOWED BY A ~5 SECONDS OF MY CAR STALLING WITH THE STABILITY CONTROL INDICATOR BLINKING. SHORTLY AFTER, ALL LIGHTS TURN BACK ON. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT I HAVE TESTED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF A WEEK. I AM WORRIED TO TAKE MY CAR OUTSIDE OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND BELIEVE IT IS AN ISSUE CAUSED BY THE VEHICLE AS OPPOSED TO SELF-INFLICTED. NOTE: I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE ISSUE REMAINS. THE VEHICLE HAS JUST UNDER 75,000 MILES.
WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET, THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND THROTTLE CONTROL, TRACTION CONTROL, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON, MY VEHICLE THEN LOSES ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. A COUPLE OF WEEKS PASS BY WITH MY CAR BEING FINE AND THEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN EXCEPT THIS TIME MY CAR WONT START BACK AT ALL. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHERE I PAID FOR TOWING. VEHICLE WAS LIMP AND WANTED TO STALL. NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR NEW SPARK PLUGS AND THROTTLE BODY REPLACEMENT. MECHANIC SAID THIS IS A COMMON SAFETY HAZARD ISSUE WITH JEEPS AND THIS THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE ON RECALL ALREADY.
I'VE BEEN HAVING ISSUES FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS NOW AND I THOUGHT IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. NOW I'M HAVING MY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT SHOWING AND MY CAR JUMPS AND DOESN'T WANT TO ACCELERATE WHEN I'M AT STOP LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS. IT ALSO JUMPS WHILE I DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY. IT HAS GOTTEN DRASTICALLY WORSE OVER TIME AND I WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE LOOKED INTO.
WHILE DRIVING MY JEEP CONTINUES TO STALL AND STUTTER AND GIVES OFF MULTIPLE ERROR CODES. MY ETC LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS LSITTING AT A STOP LIGHT .COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AND COULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 20 MPH. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, LET IT SIT FOR A MINTUE AND RESTARTED AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. BUT THEN AFTER A FEW MORE MINUTES OF DRIVING IT HAPPENED AGAIN
THE ENGINE STALLED AND CUT OFF WHILE I WAS SLOWING DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE CAR WENT COMPLETELY DEAD, I COULD NOT TURN ON WARNING LIGHTS AND CARS WERE RUNNING FAST BEHIND ME. AFTER 2 MINUTES OF TURNING THE IGNITION TO TRY TO START THE CAR, THE DASH LIGHTS WENT BACK ON AND THE ENGINE STARTED AGAIN. THE CAR ALSO CUT OFF WHEN I WAS SLOWING DOWN IN TRAFFIC BEHIND OTHER CARS.
THERE IS A RECALL THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN BY JEEP AND IT'S THE CATYLICTIC CONVERTER AND ALSO THE THROTTLE BODY JUST WENT OUT.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH ON A COUNTRY ROAD, AFTER A CURVE IN THE ROAD, MY JEEP"S TRACTION CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL STARTED FLASHING. MY JEEP THEN WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" AND I COULDN'T DRIVE FASTER THAN 40 MPH. I'M SO GLAD THAT I WAS ON A COUNTRY ROAD BECAUSE IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET MY JEEP HOME AND IT HAS BEEN FINE SINCE BUT NOW I'M CONSTANTLY WORRIED THAT THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN AT ANYTIME.
MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE AND IS A TOTAL LOSS. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS ELECTRICAL AND STARTED FROM THE HEADLIGHT
I SEE AN EXISTING RECALL THAT MATCHES ALL THE ISSUES MY CAR HAS BEEN HAVING AND YET MY CAR IS NOT ON THE RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO TEST THAT THE RECALL DID NOT INCLUDE ALL THE CARS THAT IT SHOULD HAVE. (NOT THE AIRBAG RECALL) MY CAR HAS STALLED A COUPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY AND I NOTICE A STRANGE SHIFT ISSUE IN MY CAR. WHEN I BOUGHT MY CAR THEY TOLD ME THAT THE TIMING BELT FELT DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER CARS I HAD DRIVEN AND THAT IT WAS MORE UP TO DATE. I BELIEVE THAT MY CAR HAD AN ISSUE FROM THE BEGINNING.
APRIL 15, 2018 VEHICLE ONLY HAS 58K MILES ON IT AND IS STILL UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. PULLED OUT ONTO HIGHWAY IN BUSY TRAFFIC AND VEHICLE SHUDDERED AND LOST POWER. I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OVER 20MPH. ONCOMING CAR NARROWLY MISSED HITTING ME. LIGHTNING BOLT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS ALL FLASHED ON DRIVERS PANEL. BROUGHT CAR TO DEALER TO BE INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSIS CODES ARE THAT I NEED A NEW THROTTLE BODY CONVERTER. VEHICLE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 60K MILES ON IT AND THE ENGINE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, HOWEVER, DEALER SAYS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THROTTLE BODY. :/ VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT I'VE DISCOVERED A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH. :/ LOOKS LIKE JEEP MADE A FAULTY PART THAT CAN RESULT IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF SOMEONE LOSES POWER AT THE WRONG TIME.
TODAY APRIL 4/2018 START UP MY JEEP COMPAS DROVE OFF AND, IT WAS LIKE THERE WAS NO POWER .I GAVE IT GAS BUT DIDENT PASS 20 MILLES PER HOUR.SO, I PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR AGAIN NOW IT'S FINE BUT ENGIN LIGHT IS ON !
I HEARD A POPPINK NOISE FROM BELOW OR UNDERNEATH. ALSO JUST TWO DAYS AGO MOTOR LIGHT CAME ON. I WENT TO DEALER SOMERSET DOGDE FOR #2 RECALLS ONE IN 2017 AND OTHER 2015. THEY SAID, WILL CALL YOU WHEN PARTS COMES IN . THEY NEVER CALL ME TILL TODAY!
POWER REAR WINDOW INTERMITTENTLY WOULD NOT RAISE AFTER BEING LOWERED. FOLLOWING A TRIP TO MY SON'T VIOLIN PRACTICE. AFTER RAISING USING THE REAR WINDOW POWER UP, IT RAISED AND THEN WORKED FINE. A FEW MONTHS LATER, OUT OF THE BLUE ONE MORNING THE JEEP WOULD NOT START. IT WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT IN OUR DRIVEWAY. CALLED ROADSIDE SERVICE AND THEY ATTEMPTED TO JUMP IT OFF WITH A JUMP BOX AND IT WOULD STILL NOT START. HAD A FRIEND STOP BY AND ASSIST WITH JUMPER CABLES AND AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS IT STARTED. ADVANCE AUTO CHECKED THE BATTERY/STARTER/ALTERNATOR AND ALL TESTED FINE. TAKEN TO DEALER AND TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODEULE REQUIRED CHANGING AND WAS NOT COVERED BY EITHER WARRANTY OR EXTENDED WARRANTY I PURCHASED WHEN ORIGIONALLY BOUGHT. THAT WAS TWO WEEKS AGO. TWO DAYS AGO, OUT OF THE BLUE THE HORN HONKED. THEN TONIGHT, AFTER BEING PARKED AGAIN OVERNIGHT, I ATTEMPTED TO START MY JEEP AND UPON TURNING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION ONLY THE DASH LIGHTS AND RADIO CAME ON X2. ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT THE VEHICLE STARTED. FIRST OCCURANCE WAS 7/26/2017 SECOND 8/8/2017 FOLLOWING TWO DAYS IN THE SHOP AND A CHANGED TIPM.
