THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000. UPDATED 01/24/2017*CT *CN
"TAKATA RECALL" IN DECEMBER, 2016, I TOOK MY VEHICLE FOR A RECALL (OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE). I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL IN THE MAIL. BEFORE I TOOK MY VEHICLE THE SEAT BELT LIGHT WAS ON. AFTER THE RECALL THE SEAT BELT LIGHT WAS STILL ON AND STARTED MAKING A NOISE IN MY VEHICLE THAT GOES ON AND OFF WITH THE SEAT BELT LIGHT. I DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I TOOK IT. I KNOW THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS NOISE. THEY NOW WANT TO CHARGE ME 300.00 OR MORE TO DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ANY MONIES TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR. RECALL S33 FOR JEEP WRANGLES - THE CLOCK SPRING FAILS DUE TO DUST - MANY OTHER PEOPLE WHO USE THEIR JEEPS IN DUSTY AREA'S ALSO HAVE THIS ISSUE. MINE HAS FAILED AND UPON INSPECTION IS FULL OF DIRT AND DUST.

AFTER DRIVING TWO HOURS TO HAVE THE RECALL COMPLETED, BECAUSE THE DEALER STATED THE PART HAD ARRIVED, THE CONSUMER LEARNED LATE IN THE AFTERNOON, THE REPAIR HAD NOT BEEN MADE, AS THE MODULE WAS OUT OF STOCK, AGAIN. *JB

THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE BRACKET UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT BROKE/SNAPPED IN HALF TURNING MY DRIVERS SEAT INTO A ROCKING CHAIR MAKING IT VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. BRACKET SNAPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. SEAT JUST DROPPED TWO INCHES TO THE RIGHT WHILE DRIVING. NOW, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT A COLLISION AND THEN THE SEAT JUST FLYING OFF TURNING ME INTO A CRASH TEST DUMMY. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED IN 2013 SO I WENT TO A JUNK YARD AND PURCHASED A REPLACEMENT SEAT AND HAD THE ENTIRE SEAT REPLACED. NOW, THREE YEARS LATER I HAVE TO GO THRU THE SAME PROCESS AND HOPE THE JUNKYARD CAN GET ME ANOTHER SEAT. THIS IS A JOKE REALLY THAT THIS ISSUE HAS NOT CAUSED A RECALL ON THE 2004 JEEP. ONE MONTH AGO, THE DEALER PLACED THE CONTACT ON A WAITING LIST, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE WAS 94TH ON THE LIST AND THAT ONLY A COUPLE OF PARTS WERE SENT DAILY TO THE DEALER. WHILE IN MOTION DRIVING ON A BUSY TWO WAY CITY ROADWAY STREET, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER, LOST BRAKES, NO STEERING AND NO ELECTRICAL WHILE IN MOTION, THAT ENDANGERED MY LIFE FROM A HEAD ON COLLISION. CURRENTLY NO POWER, THE WINDOWS ARE OPEN, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE STUCK.

FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WIRING HARNESS BROKE AT 165,150 MILES. (THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF MY 1999 JEEP ALSO). MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET OF THIS VERY PROBLEM!!! HAPPENS TO ALMOST ALL JEEPS AT SOME POINT. TOO SHORT OF WIRING HARNESS AND/OR BRITTLE OF WIRES. THIS REPEATING PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FOR ALL OF THE DOOR WIRING HARNESSES. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, DOORS DO NOT LOCK, WINDOWS CAN NOT BE RAISED OR LOWERED, BACK HATCH OR WINDOW CANNOT BE OPENED. IF THERE IS A PET IN THE FAR BACK AND A PET FENCE IS IN PLACE UP FRONT, YOU CANNOT GET TO THE PET!!! PLEASE MAKE THIS A RECALL TO FIX. THANK YOU. JEEP/CHRYSLER NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
NOTIFIED IN DEC 2015 OF AIRBAG RECALL. HAD VEHICLE CHECKED AT LOCAL DEALER. WAS TOLD THEY WOULD ATTEMPT TO ORDER THE PARTS AND LET ME KNOW. RECEIVED 2ND AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE ON NOV 2016. STILL NO FIX ON MY VEHICLE.

I HAVE BEEN WAITING 13 MONTHS FOR THE JEEP DEALERSHIP (BONNEVILLE & SONS) TO FIX R06 NHTSA 15V-046. I CALLED WHEN I 1ST RECEIVED THE NOTICE IN JULY 2015. DECEMBER 2015 & TWICE IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS. THEY TELL ME FCA CAN'T PROVIDE ALL THE PARTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE RECALL. I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT THIS IS ACCEPTABLE!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WITHOUT WARNING, THERE WAS A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WARNING INDICATORS DIMMED. IN ADDITION, THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ONLY ILLUMINATED MOMENTS BEFORE THE ENGINE FAILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, ANOTHER MOTORIST ALERTED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATING AND SMOKING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED SHORTLY BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLED COMPLETELY AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ENGINE FAILURE. MY 2004 HAS RECENTLY INTERMITTENTLY HAS BEEN SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE CALLED JEEP AND ASKED FOR HELP WITH DIAGNOSING WHAT IS WRONG AND THEY REFUSED. I HAVE HAD IT CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES BY MY OWN MECHANIC AND AFTER NUMEROUS REPAIRS THE PROBLEM IS STILL HAPPENING. THERE IS NO WARNING, SOUND, OR RHYME OR REASON WHEN IT HAPPENS AND IT HAPPENS IN TRAFFIC. IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFFECT, WHATEVER, IT IS AND SINCE NOONE AT JEEP SEEMS TO WANT TO HELP I AM FILING A COMPLAINT FOR OTHERS WHO MAY HAVE THIS SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE TO BEWARE. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS YEAR VEHICLE IN 2004 BRAND NEW WHEN THE CAR CAME OUT ON THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WHICH DOES CAUSE INTERMITTENT STALLING BUT AGAIN JEEP WOULD NOT ASSIST ME TO DIAGNOSE IF THIS IS THE PROBLEM. IT ALWAYS HAPPEN WHILE MOVING IN TRAFFIC AGAIN WITHOUT ANY WARNING. IT IS NOT SO MUCH THAT IT STALLS - THE VEHICLE LITERALLY SHUTS DOWN. ALMOST LIKE ITS A SAFETY ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAD AN APPOINTMENT AT A JEEP DEALERSHIP IN NORTH CHARLESTON ON JUNE 3, 2016 TO GET THE SAFETY RECALL R60 / NHTSA 15V-673 FIXED. AFTER HAVING MY JEEP THERE ALL DAY THEY INFORMED ME THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND I WOULD HAVE TO BRING IT BACK WHEN THEY HAVE THE PARTS. I LOST A WHOLE DAY OF PAY FOR A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT AND THE ISSUE WAS NOT TAKEN CARE OF BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS. AS OF TODAY 06/23/2016 I HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED TO INFORM ME IF OR WHEN THIS ISSUE WILL BE FIXED.

FCA RECALL R60/NHTSA 15V-673 AFTER I GOT THE MAIL ON MAY 10, I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALER HENDRICK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM AT DULUTH GA. I WAS TOLD THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN ONE DAY, SO I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT ON MAY 14. ON MAY 14, I GOT UP AT 8AM AND DROVE MORE THAN 30 MILES FOR THIS RECALL SERVICE. I WAITED AT THE DEALER PLACE FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS BEFORE THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PARTS WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THE PART WAS GOING TO BE IN STOCK WITHIN 3-5 DAYS, HOWEVER THEY NEVER CALLED ME UNTIL I CALLED THEM ON MAY 20. I RESCHEDULE THE SECOND APPOINTMENT WITH THEM ON MAY 20 FOR 9AM. I GOT UP EARLY AND DROVE THAT FAR TO THERE, AND THE ONLY THING I COULD FIND AFTER SPENDING ANOTHER 2 HOURS IS THAT THEY TOLD ME THE PART THEY HAVE IS NOT THE RIGHT ONE. I FEEL VERY FRUSTRATED ABOUT THIS RECALL SERVICE AND I AM DOUBTING ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE SERVICE FROM THE FCA DEALER. I WOULD NOT BELIEVE A DEALER WHO SHOULD MAKE A MISTAKE JUST ON ORDERING THE RECALL PART, WOULD GET THIS RECALL SERVICE DONE RIGHT.

THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL FOR THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR - RECALL D-13. IT IS LISTED THAT IT EXISTS IN SOME 2004 MODEL YEAR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 4.0L ENGINE. CHRYSLER SAID MY VIN IS NOT ONE OF THE VEHICLES THAT HAD THE RECALL. THEY INDICATED THAT THE RECALL WAS FOR VEHICLES BUILT 12/16/03-2/6/04. CHRYSLER SAID MY VEHICLE BUILT 0M 4/24/2004. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BECAUSE THIS PART MALFUNCTIONED ON MY VEHICLE AND I HAD TO REPLACE IT AND BELIEVE THAT I SHOULD GET REIMBURSED BY CHRYSLER. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
