TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR HEADACHES AND WHIPLASH, AND THE CHILD PASSENGER SEATED IN THE REAR SUSTAINED WHIPLASH. BOTH OCCUPANTS RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS NOTIFIED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A FACILITY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INDEPENDENT SOURCE THAT SOLD HER THE VEHICLE MADE NO MENTION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), WHICH WAS RELATED TO THE CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE14017 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *DT*JB *DT CONSUMER STATED THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AT 45MPH WHEN HER DAUGHTER HIT ANOTHER CAR.*JB *DT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE APPROACHING A STOP, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MONROEVILLE CHRYSLER JEEP 3(651 WILLIAM PENN HWY, MONROEVILLE, PA 15146, (412) 856-1422) WHERE THE TRANSFER CASE WAS REPAIRED TWICE AND THE MOTOR AS WELL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V175000 (POWER TRAIN, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,245.
SUNROOF EXPLOSION
SHORTLY AFTER MY HUSBAND GOT HOME WE HEARD SOMEONE HONKING THEIR HORN OUTSIDE OF OUR APARTMENT, SO WE LOOKED AND OUR VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. IT WAS PARKED AND NOT RUNNING WHEN IT HAPPENED.
THE TIRE RUBBER IS COMING AWAY FROM THE REAM. AND THE TIRES ARE GOODYEAR (DA8T-JJ1R-4415 DOUGNT IN 2015
RECALL HAS BEEN OPEN FOR YEARS REGARDING THE IGNITION SWITCH BUT CHRYSLER NEVER HAS THE PART. FURTHER, THIS CAR HAS NUMEROUS REPORTS OF BRAKING ISSUES THAT ARE SPORADIC AND IT CAUSED ME TO REAR-END A VEHICLE ON NOV. 2, LUCKILY AT A VERY LOW RATE OF SPEED. I LET MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO INCH FORWARD AND IT WOULD NOT ENGAGE AGAIN WHEN I PRESSED IT AGAIN MOMENTS LATER. MECHANIC COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE BUT THAT IS TYPICAL FOR CHRYSLER IT SEEMS.
ENGINE SHUTS OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE 2005
UNCERTAIN BUT THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE MAKING CONTACT WITH ANOTHER VECHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. SEE ALSO 11143883. *DSY *DT *JB
VECHICLE WAS IN MOTION BRAKES FAILED, CAUSING FRONT END OF JEEP TO MAKE CONTACT WITH ANOTHER VECHICLE APPOX. SPEED AT TIME OF IMPACT 60 MPH AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. SEE ALSO 11143877. *DSY
THERE WAS A RED LIGHTNING BULB THAT CAME OUT ON MY DASH
ANYTIME I GO 50+ MPH ALL I CAN HEAR IS A ROARING NOISE. WE HAVE REPLACED THE WHOLE REAR END ALMOST 3 WEEKS AGO THINKING MAYBE THAT WAS THE PROBLEM TURNS OUT IT NOT. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR ALMOST A YEAR AGO SO WE ARE UNSURE IF ANY RECALLS ON IT HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GALEANA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (14375 S TAMIAMI TRL, FORT MYERS, FL 33912, (855) 732-1313) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220,000.
THE FUSE BOX UNDER HOOD IS LABELED INCORRECTLY AND ON THE COVER STATES SPARE FUSES IN CAVITY 29 AND 30. HOWEVER, IT IS ACCTUALLY THE AIRBAGS WHICH IS WHY IT IS IN A YELLOW SAFETY HOLDER AND ALSO THE ORIGINAL MANUAL THAT COMES WITH THE JEEP STATES THAT IT IS THE AIRBAG. HOWEVER DIRECTLY ON THE BOX UNDER THE HOOD IT SAYS CAVITY 29 AND 30 ARE SPARES WHICH ARE CAUSING PEOPLE TO PULL THEM OUT AND USE THEM AS SPARES ELSEWHERE UNAWARE THAT THEY ARE IN DANGER
INTERMITTENT STALLING ISSUE. INITIALLY THE VEHICLE STARTS AND RUNS FINE. AFTER STOPPING OR EXTENDED DRIVING DURATION THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOM START STALLING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES AND DINGS. THIS WILL LAST FOR A FEW MINUTES SOMETIMES AND OTHER TIMES THE ENTIRE TRIP. THE LAST FEW TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED WE WERE NEARLY REAR ENDED AND PULLED OVER UNTIL IT WAS SOMEWHAT DRIVE ABLE. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT AT THIS TIME FOR FEAR IT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR A FEW YEARS AND HAS RECENTLY GOTTEN WORSE. WE'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PARTS REPLACED BUT NOTHING HAS RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. THE LAST TRIP TO THE DEALER THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE DESCRIBED ISSUE. WITH THE USE OF A SCOPE AND CODE REVIEW, MY HUSBAND HAS TAKEN TO REPLACING SMALLER, SIMPLE PARTS IN HOPES OF A SIMPLE SOLUTION....SPARK PLUGS, 02 SENSORS AND CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. NOTHING HAS HELPED. PLEASE HELP RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. SEEING ALL THE OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, HOW MANY DOES IT TAKE TO START AN INVESTIGATION OR RECALL? IT'S A SHAME AN ACCIDENT IT WHAT IT MAY TAKE TO ATTRACT ATTENTION TO THIS ISSUE.
THE TRANSFER CASE HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY AND THE CAR LURCHES AND STUTTERS WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS A RECALL INVOLVING THE TRANSFER CASE AND THE COMPUTER, BUT THERE HAS NOT BEEN ONE FOR THE TRANSFER CASE ITSELF, WHICH I BELIEVE WAS COMPROMISED FROM DUE TO THE COMPUTER ISSUE BEFORE IT WAS FIXED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND THE ENGINE SPUTTERED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND, SHORTLY AFTER, IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. POLICE AND FIRE REPORTS WERE NOT FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURE ONLINE, BUT FOUND NO INFORMATION OR RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE VAPORS FROM THE FUEL TANK WOULD NOT ALLOW FUEL TO FLOW EVENLY INTO THE FUEL TANK. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WHITTEN BROTHERS OF ASHLAND (11409 WASHINGTON HWY, ASHLAND, VA 23005, (804) 798-6071) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VENT VALVE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN VEHICLE GOES OVER A SMALL OR LARGE BUMP, A DASHBOARD LIGHT CLUSTER INDICATES TO SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM AND IS ACCOMPANIED BY ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AND ESP BAS WARNING LIGHTS. ABS IS NOTICEABLY DISABLED WHEN THIS LIGHT CLUSTER APPEARS. THE INDICATIONS USUALLY LAST A FEW MINUTES BEFORE GOING AWAY. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR APPROXIMATELY THE LAST 18,000 MILES. WHEN BROUGHT UP AT THE DEALERSHIP DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, I AM TOLD THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. ON THIS LAST OCCASION, I LOST FULL BRAKING AUTHORITY AND WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO GRADUALLY SLOW DOWN AND PULL OVER TO THE FREEWAY SHOULDER WHILE APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND TURNED BACK ON THE INDICATIONS WENT AWAY AND BRAKING WAS RESTORED. OBVIOUSLY, THIS CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
ABS ESB INDICATOR LIGHT ON. WHILE DRIVING THROUGH BUSY INTERSECTION, !!BRAKE!! RED INDICATOR CAME ON AND STOPPED MY VEHICLE FROM MOVING. WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSECTION TO NOT BE HIT AND RESTART THE JEEP. ONCE RESTARTED NO LIGHTS ON AT ALL. TRACTION CONTROL KEEPS SETTING OFF ON ITS OWN FOR NO REASON CAUSING THE ABS/ESB LIGHTS TO APPEAR. TURN TRACTION CONTROL OFF AND PROBLEM STILL EXIST. BECOMING UNSAFE AND NO WAY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TACOMA DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (253-475-7300, LOCATED AT 4101 S TACOMA WAY, TACOMA, WA 98409) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THE EGR VALVE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000. *TT CONSUMER REPLACED MY IGNITION SWITCH. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAD A RECALL ON MY VEHICLES IGNITION SWITCH AND MY CAR STOP WHILE I WAS DRIVING NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS FIXED WHEN I TOOK IT TO US AUTO WHERE I PURCHASED IT. IT WAS TAKEN TO JEEP (2016) BUT MY IGNITION SWITCH IS STILL THE ISSUE. I HAD A MECHANIC TAKE A LOOK AND MY IGNITION SWITCH IS STILL THE PROBLEM. HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN WHAT IF I WAS INJURED BECAUSE OF THIS?
ALL DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS COME ON. LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER. NO HEADLIGHTS, NO BRAKE LIGHTS. SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK, TACHOMETER DOESN'T WORK, RADIO DOESN'T WORK. NO POWER LOCKS OR WINDOWS. ANYTHING ELECTRICAL DOESN'T WORK. THE BATTERY IS GOOD. THE VEHICLE RUNS. BUT IT IS UNSAFE. THE VEHICLE IS CRAP. NEVER BUY A JEEP! THEY ARE TOTAL CRAP
DOOR HANDLES BREAKING ON ALL INTERIOR DOORS. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR PASSENGERS IN THE CAR. ESPECIALLY IN THE BACK WHEN YOUR CHILD CAN NOT GET OUT!!! IT STARTED ON THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR AND HAS CONTINUED TO BREAK ON THE OTHERS.
THE VEHICLE HAS A SAFETY ISSUED AT THIS POINT IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE CLOCKSPRING IS BAD DUE TO MANUFACTURERS ERRORS. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN, THE VEHICLE IS LOSING POWER DUE TO ENGINE MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. THE CLOCKSPRING HAS A CODE STATED AS C2205 ON THE COMPUTER MODULE. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES GOING OVER 60MPH AT THIS POINT I DO NOT KNOW WHY.
THERE IS A TICKING SOUND COMING FROM EITHER THE ENGINE OR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. IT ONLY MAKES THE NOISE WHEN GOING EXTREMELY SLOW.
TRANSFER CASE, SUSPENSION AND IGNITION SWITCH SEEMS TO BE CAUSING MAJOR ISSUES AFTER 105,000 MILES AND THE "WARRANTY" JUST ENDED JUST BEFORE ALL THESE ISSUES STARTED HAPPENING. WHEN TRIED TO START ONCE THE ENGINE SHUTTERED THEN TURNED OFF. STARTED UP AFTER THAT, BUT THEN IT HAS ISSUES WANTING TO ACCELERATE AND CAN FEEL THE JEEP STRUGGLING AT TIMES TO SWITCH GEARS OR WHATEVER THE TRANSFER CASE MAY ASSIST IN. ALSO HAVE NOTICED THE SUSPENSION HAS START TO ROCK.

THE FAILURE OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC SHIFT MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL MY CAR LEAKS WATER INSIDE , WHEN IT RAIN, WHN I GO TO LOCK OR UNLOCK MY CAR WITH THE REMOTE STARTED IT STARTS THE CAR
THIS VEHICLE HAS A 5.7 LITER HEMI V-8. IT CURRENTLY HAS AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAK BECAUSE JEEP USES CHEAP SCREWS TO MOUNT THE MANIFOLD TO THE ENGINE BLOCK. AS SUCH, THE SCREWS SNAP CAUSING A LEAK. THIS IS A WELL KNOW PROBLEM FOR THIS ENGINE BUT CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT AND THE REPAIRS WILL BE A MINIMUM OF $500. NEVER BUY A JEEP!
JEEP SHIFTS OUT OFF PARK WHEN KEY IS NOT IN THE IGNITION. I DO NOT NEED TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDDLE TO SHIFT OUT OFF PARK. JEEP HAS HAD THE 14V-438 RECALL.
CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE AT ABOUT 124,000 MILES. LUCKILY IN THE DRIVEWAY WHERE I HAD PARKED THE CAR AFTER RUNNING NORMAL ERRANDS. THE CAR WOULD NOT START UP AGAIN AND HAD TO BE TOWED SINCE THE BATTERY WAS NEW AND THE STARTER SEEMED FROZEN. I TOOK EXCELLENT CARE OF THIS CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP AND AT A TOP LOCAL GARAGE SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. I WAS STUNNED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED WITHOUT ANY NOTICE, NO WARNING LIGHTS, NO NOISE, NOTHING. THE LOCAL MECHANIC SAW "CHUNKS OF METAL" IN THE PAN. I NOW NEED A COMPLETELY NEW ENGINE 5 WEEKS AFTER AN OIL CHANGE DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW IN MY JEEP HEMI ENGINE. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY LETTER OR NOTIFICATION ABOUT THIS APPARENTLY WELL KNOWN AND RELATIVELY COMMON PROBLEM. I HAD EVERY RECALL PERFORMED ON THIS CAR. THERE WAS NEVER A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM WHICH APPARENTLY INCLUDES THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THE RESPONSE FROM THE DEALERSHIP WAS THAT THE HEMI IS A GOOD ENGINE. REALLY??? NO APOLOGIES, NO CALL FROM THE MANUFACTURER. OUT OF WARRANTY, SO IT IS JUST TOO BAD FOR ME AS A CUSTOMER. THEY KNOW THE DESIGN FLAW EXISTS BUT DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. JUST THEIR BOTTOM LINE.
AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES ON THE INTERSTATE I STOPPED AND WENT INTO A STORE. WHEN I CAME BACK OUT IN 5-10 MINUTES AND ATTEMPTED TO STARTED IT, THE ENGINE FELT AS THOUGH IT WERE "JUMPING". HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID IT HAD DROPPED A VALVE SEAT. CHRYSLER DETERMINED THAT IT HAPPENED BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN OVERHEATED. HOWEVER THERE WERE ABSOLUTELY NO OVERHEAT CODES IN THE COMPUTER. THE GAUGES HAVE NEVER READ HOT. IT WAS NOT LOW ON COOLANT. THEY STATED THAT THERE WERE NO LEAKS. IT WAS NEVER HOT.
THE ISSUE IS WITH THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE).DURING THE FIRST INSTANCE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN IN A PARKING LOT THE CAR SUDDENLY BECAME COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE AND LOCKED UP WHILE IN MOTION. IT WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP AND EVENTUALLY IT WAS DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A BAD PCM AND THE TIPM. AFTER WAITING A MONTH FOR THE TIPM TO COME IN, THE VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED. PICKED UP THE CAR ON A FRIDAY AND AGAIN, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON SATURDAY MORNING THE CAR LOCKED UP AND BECAME COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE. THIS TIME I WAS GETTING ONTO THE FREEWAY. THANKFULLY MY CHILDREN WERE NOT IN THE CAR ON EITHER ONE OF THESE OCCASIONS. AFTER RESEARCHING I FOUND THAT JEEP TIPM'S WERE RECALLED FROM 2011 TO 2015. IT ALSO APPEARS THAT TIPM'S FROM 2007 LEADING UP TO 2011 WERE ALSO HAVING A LOT OF ISSUES AND A RECALL WAS IN ORDER THEN, BUT NEVER OFFICIALLY CAME TO BE. THIS PART HAS A LONG AND DOCUMENTED HISTORY AS HAVING MAJOR PROBLEMS AND I WANT TO OFFICIALLY REQUEST AN INVESTIGATION AS TO WHY THESE PARTS HAVE ARE BEING PUT INTO CARS IN THIS CONDITION. THE RAMIFICATIONS OF THIS PARTS FAILURE ARE HUGE. TO HAVE A CAR THAT IS IN MOTION LOCK UP AND BECOME TOTALLY UNRESPONSIVE PRESENTS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN TO THE DRIVER, THEIR PASSENGERS AND THE OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD AROUND THEM. THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE ARE NOT TREATING THIS ISSUE WITH THE SEVERITY IT DESERVES. THEY SIMPLY WANT ME TO JUST PAY FOR FAULTY PARTS AND HAVE ME GO AWAY. THIS IS NOT HOW AN AUTOMAKER SHOULD BE HANDLING A SAFETY ISSUE OF THIS MAGNITUDE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATED. WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE RPMS DROPPED AND THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY ACCELERATED WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM 24 LOCATED AT 97 MANLEY ST. BROCKTON, MA 02301 FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THERE WERE NO FAILURE CODES. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TEST DRIVEN, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO START AFTER HIGHWAY DRIVING OR THE ENGINE IS AT A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE. CAR CAN NOT BE TURNED OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN AFTER ENGINE REACHES CERTAIN TEMPERATURE.
Intermittent starting issues for 5+ years, multiple repairs with no resolution
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE (PARKED) CAR, WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED EVERYTHING TURNS ON (RADIO, DASHBOARD LIGHTS, SEATS ECT) LIKE IT NORMALLY WOULD START BUT THE ENGINE DOESN'T TURN OVER OR CRANK AT ALL... WHEN ALL THE OTHER LIGHTS GO OFF THE ENGINE AND OIL LIGHT REMAIN ON. NO CLICKING SOUND WHATSOEVER, BUT I BELIEVE YOU CAN HEAR THE FUEL PUMP KICK IN. WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION AFTER IT WON'T START, THE ACCESSORIES WILL OCCASIONALLY STAY ON (SUCH AS THE THE SEAT WHEN IT HAS THE EASY ENTRY OPTION SELECTED WILL STAY IN THE DRIVING POSITION). NOTHING SEEMS TO MAKE IT START. JUMPING THE BATTERY DOES NOTHING. PUTTING IT IN NEUTRAL TO START DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. IT'S USUALLY JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT DECIDES TO START AGAIN... SOMETIMES HOURS, SOMETIMES DAYS. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY CAN NEVER DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE BECAUSE THEY ARE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. FOR WHATEVER REASON, POSSIBLY JUST A COINCIDENCE, REPLACING THE BATTERY IN THE KEY FOB SEEMS TO DELAY THE ISSUE FROM HAPPENING AGAIN FOR A FEW MONTHS. ALTHOUGH THIS MAY NOT SEEM LIKE A STRAIGHT FORWARD SAFETY ISSUE, THE PROBLEM HAS LEFT ME STRANDED AT A GAS STATION IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER WHILE BEING 8-1/2 MONTHS PREGNANT AND MOST RECENTLY LEFT ME STRANDED WITH MY 8 MONTH OLD BABY. I SHOULD ALSO NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM NEVER OCCURRED UNTIL SOME TIME AFTER THE LAST RECALL WAS RESOLVED.
WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH ON A 2 LANE ROAD THE PASSENGER SIDEWALL AIRBAG DEPLOYED SECONDS AFTER THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. THERE WAS NO IMPACT. CAR WAS DRIVEN ABOUT 2 MILES TO THE JEEP DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THEY SUGGESTED I CALL CHRYSLER. CHRYSLER SENT AN ENGINEER TO INVESTIGATE. CHRYSLER SENT ME A LETTER STATING THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT WOULD LEAVE THEM TO BELIEVE IT WAS THE MANUFACTURER'S RESPONSIBILITY. I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHY IT DEPLOYED. CHRYSLER WILL NOT PROVIDE ME WITH THIS INFORMATION. IF THEY CAN MAKE A DETERMINATION THAT IT WAS NOT A MANUFACTURER DEFECT, THEN THEY SHOULD KNOW WHAT CAUSED IT IN ORDER TO MAKE THAT DETERMINATION. I SPOKE TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP AS SUGGESTED BY THE DEALER TO GET A ROUGH ESTIMATE OF THE REPAIR COST BUT THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED IN REPAIRING IT WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT CAUSED IT DO TO LIABILITY ISSUES, WHICH I UNDERSTAND. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE DEPLOYMENT BUT CHRYSLER MUST KNOW OR ELSE THEY COULDN'T DETERMINE IT WAS NOT A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM.....UPDATED 11/21/17 *BF *TT
TAKATA RECALL ALL THE DASH LIGHTS COME ON FROM BATTERY,CHECK ENGINE,LOW TIRE PRESSURE, CODE READ 0411 & WELL NOT PICK UP SPEED.
SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ON AND YOU PULL THE LEVER BACK TO DIM THEM TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC THE HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF TOO, LITERALLY LEAVING YOU IN THE DARK. IT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT AND HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST. I FEEL THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY SITUATION THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN!
RIDING DOWN RODE. SPEEDOMETER AND LIGHTS FAILED. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE SHOP THE WALKED AWAY TO FILE PAPERWORK AND AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON THE VEHICLE. IT WAS THE RIGHT SIDE AIR CURTAIN. THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE UNIT. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP THE CAR WAS SITTING MOTIONLESS ON THE GARAGE FLOOR.
USING THE GRAB BAR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, PLASTIC COSMETIC HOUSING MOVED AND WAS NO LONGER STABLE. UPON REMOVAL OF THE PLASTIC HOUSING, WE FOUND THE PLASTIC SUPPORT AROUND THE SCREW HAD SPLIT IN HALF, ALLOWING THE UNIT TO MOVE WHEN USED. GRAB BAR IS HEAVILY USED TO ASSIST GETTING INTO THE VEHICLE. ORDERED NEW GRAB BAR, A DODGE RAM PICKUP OWNER WAS IN JEEP PARTS DEPT, ORDERING ONE FOR HIS TRUCK. HOW MANY MORE HAVE BEEN REPLACED, NEEDS TO BE STRONGER TO SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF A DISABLED PERSON GETTING INTO THE CAR/TRUCK.

THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I RECEIVE A LETTER ON THE MAIL FROM JEEP NAMED AS "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL INFORMATION" STATING THAT MY CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED DUE TO A DEFECT RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY, MORE SPECIFICALLY: UNINTENDED CHANGE IN IGNITION SWITCH POSITION THAT IMPLIES A SAFETY RISK. I WENT ON THE SAFECAR.GOV SITE TO CONFIRM THE STATUS OF MY RECALL AND IT SAYS THAT THERE IS A RECALL IN EFFECT ON MY CAR MODEL BUT UNFORTUNATELY JEEP DOESN'T HAVE THE PART REPLACEMENT YET. I WANT THIS PROBLEM FIXED ASAP.
MY 2007 JEEP G.CHEROKEE CAN BE ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING 55 MPH AND THEN DECIDED TO DIE. IT WILL SHUT OFF AND CANNOT INCREASE SPEED. I HAVE A ONE YEAR OLD IN THE BACK SEAT AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY TIMES WHILE HAVING MY SON THE BACK SEAT AND TRYING TO GET OVER TO THE BREAK DOWN LANE BEFORE IT COMPLETELY DIES. ALSO DOESN'T START SOME DAYS SOME WILL. DEFIANTLY HAVE ELECTRICAL PROVEN LIKE IN THE RECALL. THEIR IS A FUEL RELAY RECALL THERE IS A MANY RECALLS FOR THE SAME THINGS HAPPENING TO MY JEEP AND IT'S BECOMING A HAZARD AND SCARY FOR ME TRAVELING WITH MY SON.
VEHICLE HAD AN IGNITION SWITCH RECALL (P41) WHICH WAS REPLACED BY DEALER. AFTER REPLACEMENT PART FAILED AND VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER FOR REPAIR MARCH 4, 2017. DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE REPLACED IGNITION COIL HAD FAILED AND THEY WOULD FURTHER REPAIR AS PART OF RECALL. VEHICLE, 7 WEEKS LATER, IS STILL NOT REPAIRED. I HAVE ESCALATED MY CASE FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO JEEP NATIONAL AND VEHICLE STILL NOT REPAIRED WITH NO UPDATE. I WAS INFORMED DURING THIS PROCESS THAT MY CAR IS A "ONE-OFF", THE REPLACEMENT RECALL PART THAT WAS INTENDED FOR MY VEHICLE DOES NOT WORK IN MY VEHICLE AND THAT JEEP IS FURTHER RESEARCHING HOW TO REPAIR. I AM FILING A COMPLAINT DUE TO TIMELINESS OF REPAIR. WHILE RECALL REPAIR HAS BEEN FREE OF CHARGE, ORIGINAL PART REPLACEMENT TOOK LESS THAN ONE DAY. DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN EVALUATING RECALL PART FOR SEVEN WEEKS AND STILL DO NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION OF WHEN VEHICLE WILL BE REPAIRED/RETURNED. JEEP ORIGINALLY OFFERED A LOANER VEHICLE WHICH I TURNED DOWN AS I WAS TOLD REPAIR WOULD BE ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS. I HAVE NOW REQUESTED SEVERAL TIMES FOR A COMPARABLE LOANER VEHICLE WHILE JEEP IS STILL EVALUATING THE REPAIR. JEEP WILL NOT PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE AND I AM TOLD IT IS BECAUSE MY CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. WHILE I UNDERSTAND WARRANTIES, JEEP HAS MY CAR BECAUSE OF FAILED RECALL REPLACEMENT PART AND THEY WILL NOT PUT IN ORIGINAL PART DUE TO RECALL. JEEP ALSO CLOSED OUT THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. PLEASE ADVISE.
WHILE DRIVING CAR DEVELOPS WOBBLE. ACCELERATING OR PUTTING CAR IN NEUTRAL HAS NO EFFECT. I REPLACED FRONT ROTORS, CALIPERS AND BRAKE HOSES TO NO AVAIL.
THIS IS MY SECOND TIME IN 10 YEARS REPLACING THE GEAR SHIFT IN THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS VEHICLE.. THE GEAR SHIFT GOES OUT EVERY 5 YEARS.. IT STARTS WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON THEN ALL THE GEARS HAVE THE CIRCLE AROUND ALL THE GEARS . FOR EXAMPLE IT LIKES LIKE I'M IN DRIVE, REVERSE, PARK AND NEUTRAL. WHEN I'M PARKED. THEN FROM THERE IF I' HAVE TO STOP OR YIELD FOR AND REASON IT'S SOMETIMES HESITANTE TO MOVE. VERY SCARY
