VEHICLE WILL STALL AT ANY SPEED WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKING. THE VEHICLE HAS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP TO BE STARTED AS IT IS A PUSH BUTTON START AND IT HAS TO BE IN PARK WITH FOOT ON BRAKE. STARTED A CASE NUMBER WITH JEEP, TOOK IT TO SEVERAL JEEP AUTHORIZED SERVICE FACILITIES AND THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAD A TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) REPLACED AT ABOUT 80,000 MILES. SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED, WAS NOT. JEEP CLOSED THE CASE TELLING US THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR US AS THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES DOCUMENTED STARTING WHEN IT ONLY HAD 50 MILES ON IT. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. *TR

THE LEATHER DASH COVER IS COMING LOOSE FROM THE UNDERLYING PLASTIC. EFFECTIVE DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COULD BE AFFECTED. THIS IS A PROBLEM CHRYSLER HAS KNOWN ABOUT FOR YEARS BUT WILL NOT ADDRESS. IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SUBCONTRACTOR NOT COMPLETING THE VACUUM PROCESS WHEN APPLYING THE LEATHER COVER TO THE DASH. THIS HAS OCCURRED SLOWLY OVER TIME UNTIL IT HAS NOW BECOME A HAZARD.
WE RECEIVED AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL LETTER ABOUT THE BRAKE BOOSTER ON MY WIFE'S 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND CALLED OUR DEALER, WESTGATE CHRYSLER IN PLAINFIELD, IN, ON JUNE 13, 2014, AT 10:19 A.M. AND WERE TOLD IT WOULD BE TWO(2) MONTHS MORE. TODAY, OCTOBER 31, 2014, AT 8:38 A.M. WE WERE TOLD IT WAS STILL ON ORDER. TOMORROW WILL BE THE FIRST DAY OF NOVEMBER! I WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, SO HOPEFULLY YOU CAN ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER. IF THE BRAKE MAY BE COMPROMISED AND MAY "CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING" THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND CHRYSLER NEEDS TO DO A MUCH BETTER JOB OF SERVICING IT. I HAVE THREE RECALL NOTICES ON MY 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. YOU MAILED ME THE FIRST ONE IN JUNE AND I VISITED MY DEALER ON JULY 5TH. FOUR MONTHS LATER, I AM STILL BEING TOLD I AM ON THE WAITING LIST. THE DEALER IS DADE CHRYSLER DODGE IN MIAMI FLORIDA. THE RECALL NOTICES SAY TO CONTACT YOU IF THE DEALER IS NOT RESPONDING QUICKLY ENOUGH. I THINK FOUR MONTHS IS TOO LONG. I HAVE TRIED TO START MY CAR SEVERAL TIMES WITH JUST CONTINUOUS CRANKING. I CALLED TWO DIFFERENT JEEP DEALERSHIPS AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE. YESTERDAY, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AT 55 MPH WITH MY 5 MONTH OLD IN THE CAR AFTER DAYCARE- AND MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND I ALMOST CRASHED INTO THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME!!!! VERY SCARY. I HAD TO SWERVE TO MISS THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE THE BRAKES AND CAR WERE NOT WORKING- JUST COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I FINALLY GOT IT STARTED AGAIN AND GOT TO A SAFE LOCATION. I THEN HAD IT TOWED. I DID SOME RESEARCH TO FIND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO DO A RECALL ON THIS. ARE THEY INSANE?!!! WE COULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. IF THE CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY- THE PRICE TO FIX THE ISSUE IS $1300+. I JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR IN NOVEMBER OF 2013 BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE SAFE FOR ME AND MY NEW BABY. NOW I HAVE TO DISH OUT $1300 BECAUSE OF A FAULTY PART THAT CHRYSLER REFUSES TO FIX? THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN SIX MONTHS THAT I HAVE HAD A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH MY KEY FOB AFFECTING MY ENGINE. I AM AFRAID THIS MAY BE AN IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM BUT THE DEALER KEEPS TELLING ME IT'S THE KEY FOB BATTERY. THE FIRST TIME MY CAR WOULD NOT START AND THE ENGINE WAS DEAD. THEY REPLACED BOTH KEY FOBS 6 MONTHS AGO AND TOLD ME THEY WERE DEFECTIVE. THIS TIME WHEN I PUSHED THE BUTTON THE ENGINE MADE A SCREECHING RATTLING SOUND, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF. EVENTUALLY IT DID AND I TRIED IT AGAIN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THE CAR WAS TOWED 30 MILES TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THE KEY FOB BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I ASKED THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN IF THEIR COMPUTER SHOWED THAT MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND HE AGREED BUT TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM, OTHER THAN THE KEY FOB BATTERY. I TOLD THEM BOTH KEY FOBS WERE NEW. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR 3 YEARS AND IT ONLY HAS 11,605 MILES ON IT. HOW ON EARTH CAN A KEY FOB CAUSE ENGINE PROBLEMS? I MAY NOT BE AN EXPERT ON CARS BUT I'M NOT STUPID. I BELIEVE IT MAY BE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE IGNITION. I HOPE JEEP FIXES THIS BEFORE THERE ARE ANY ACCIDENTS OR DEATHS. I NOW FEEL I AM FORCED TO PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR OVER $2,100.00 BECAUSE I'M AFRAID OF WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN WHEN MY FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRES NEXT MONTH. I DON'T THINK I WOULD EVER BUY A NEW CAR AGAIN. THE OLD ONES SEEM MORE RELIABLE. WHEN STARTED AND SHIFTED INTO "D" DRIVE MODE, CAR WOULD SELF ENGAGE IN MANUAL GEAR "4" AND THEN HAD NO TRACTION OR ACCELERATION, ONLY REVERSE. TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY DIED AND WOULD AUTOMATICALLY GO INTO MANUAL "4" GEAR ITSELF WHEN PUT INTO "D" DRIVE MODE FROM PARK OR WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS AND VERY SCARY. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER WHO WANTED $1,300 TO REPAIR FAULTY TIPM MODULE AND WOULD NOT COVER UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. CALLED CHRYSLER AND NEGOTIATED IT DOWN TO $100. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE CAR IS PUTTING ITSELF INTO THE WRONG GEAR WHILE MOVING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OR MOVE IN DRIVE MODE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,200.
WHEN I TRY TO START MY VEHICLE, IT WILL ATTEMPT TO TURN OVER BUT WILL THEN TURN ITSELF OFF. AFTER READING ONLINE, IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS A FAULTY TIPM THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE READ THAT IT ALSO CAUSES ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS, AND STALLING AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING. THIS CAUSES A VERY BIG CONCERN FOR ME; AS IT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS FOR MY VEHICLE TO STALL AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS OR WHILE TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION. *TR
THE VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE SAFELY OUT OF HARMS WAY. I AM IN FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS WHERE WE ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE FUEL PUMP RELAY SWITCH WAS REPLACED BY RECALL AND THE VEHICLE IS STILL STALLING. I HAVE CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER CARE VIA EMAIL AND BY PHONE AND THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME A CASE NUMBER. I TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I DON'T WANT TO SELL THE CAR KNOWING WHOEVER PURCHASES IT COULD BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED.

I HAVE CALLED MY DEALER REPEATEDLY IN THE OVER 3 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD EACH TIME THAT THE PARTS TO PERFORM THE RECALL WORK ARE STILL UNAVAILABLE. I KNOW THAT JEEP HAS BEEN MANUFACTURING AND SELLING NEW 2014 GRAND CHEROKEES DURING THIS TIME THAT HAVE THE PART THAT IS NEEDED TO PERFORM THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. AFTER RECEIVING NOTICE 14V154 I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (LARRY H MILLER IN BOISE IDAHO) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE BACK ORDERED WITH NO DATE WHEN PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THIS INFORMATION WAS REPEATED IN SEPTEMBER. HAVING NOW RECEIVED 3 RECALLS I ATTEMPTED TO SCHEDULE TO HAVE ALL 3 RESOLVED AT THE SAME TIME. HOWEVER, WHEN I TRIED TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE, I'M TOLD THAT, WHILE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE, THEY WILL NOT ORDER THE PARTS UNTIL I BRING MY VEHICLE IN FIRST. WHEN I ASKED WHY THEY STATED THAT THEY NEEDED THE VIN NUMBER. HOWEVER, THEY NOT ONLY HAVE MY VEHICLE INFORMATION ON RECORD AND I HAD THE VIN AVAILABLE DURING THE CALL. I ASKED TO COMPLETE THE SERVICE ORDER ON THE PHONE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS "POLICY" TO SCHEDULE SERVICE APPOINTMENTS ONLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PRESENT AND ONLY THEN WILL THEY ORDER PARTS. AFTER BEING UNABLE TO STOP 3 TIMES WITHIN THE FIRST 3 MINUTES OF LEAVING MY HOUSE I CALLED JEEP ABOUT THE BRAKE RECALL. JEEP NEVER CONTACTED ME TO LET ME KNOW THAT MY JEEP WAS INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. I LET THEM KNOW I NO LONGER FELT SAFE DRIVING THE CAR, AS IT HAD FAULTY BRAKES AND KINDLY REQUESTED A LOANER AS I HAD FAMILY ARRIVING THAT WEEKEND AND WOULD BE DOING A LOT OF TRAVELING. THE SERVICE WRITER LET ME KNOW THAT ACCORDING TO THE RECALL THE JEEP WILL STOP WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE & MAY BE MORE DIFFICULT IN WARMER WEATHER. IT IS CURRENTLY 80 DEGREES IN COLORADO WITH NO SIGN OF COOLING. I INFORMED THE TECHNICIAN THAT THE CAR HAD ALREADY ALMOST CAUSED 3 ACCIDENTS AND I DID NOT FEEL CONFIDENT IN IT'S ABILITY TO STOP IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. HE APOLOGIZED AND INFORMED ME THAT HIS SUPERIORS WOULD NOT ALLOW ME A LOANER BECAUSE BASED ON THE RECALL NOTIFICATION THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE.
