The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start-up after multiple attempts without warning. One day, the vehicle failed to start up and the contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The contact was informed that his vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was repaired. Approximately six months later, the contact stated that the failure recurred, requiring several attempts to start the vehicle. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was informed of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
As I am about to turn right my vehicle completely shuts off and I lose power steering, etc. Brakes work enough to stop thankfully, but vehicle is completely off almost causing a crash. I am able to start my 2011 Jeep GC right back up and go on with the engine light on. The light then shut off as I am driving. After reading multiple cases of this same issue it is apparent something needs done and a resolution needs issued. This is an extreme safety issue and needs addressed now before injury or death occurs. I love Jeep but I do not think I will be able to get another (after having 3+) if this does not get addressed. Get this fixed and addressed now.
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at 5 MPH and making a right turn, the vehicle stalled. The Forward Collision Warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and parked the vehicle. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and continued to drive. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair and the dealer replaced the fuel pump relay; however, the failure recurred six months later. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the Total Integration Power Module (TIPM) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to follow up with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that on multiple occasions the vehicle would not start while pressing the START/STOP button. The contact indicated that the failure was corrected while tapping the TIPM and then pressing the START button. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure and no issues were found. The contact indicated that on several occasions the vehicle stalled without warning. On one occasion the vehicle lost motive power while entering an intersection. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,941.
I have gone back and forth to the dealership since I purchased my Jeep. It’s been a horrific time dealing with all of the issues. Seatbelt sensor’s, windshield sensor, fuel pump problem over and over. I’m alive by the grace of God, while on the freeway the Jeep latterly stop. Completely died on me. Nothing to warned me simply shut off. For the longest all I got from the dealership was no replacement was available. Finally in December 2021 it was replaced. But right after I drove off the lot the air bag light came on, I returned to the service department and once the service technician turned on the Jeep- nothing came on. So I went home a few weeks later the same thing on and then off . It would stay on for a couple of days then off. Now it’s on for months and off for about a day two the most. The lights on the dashboard are continuous flickering on and off. I’m so tired of all of the problems this vehicle has it’s ridiculous. I need some one to please look into this. I have spent over $5000.00 dollars on diagnostic testing and repairs from extra work other then the normal expense’s. I’m at the end of my patience with this.
Headrest deployed on its own. I came out to my car 1 day and my airbag was headrest was deployed.
While driving the vehicle it will with no indication shut off and stop running. Its very scary and dangerous. I have taken it to the dealership and they told me the car is just old and have pressured me to buy a new car.
Started vehicle and heard a bad grinding noise. Turned off vehicle, attempted to restart, failed to restart, and checked under hood and the alternator was so hot is was untouchable and smoking, had to disconnect battery to prevent fire. Leaving me stranded.
jeep has a huge stalling issue while driving down the road… stalled on me over 7 times while owning it in the last 4 months and a i handful of near misses since i lose all my steering and brakes when it stalls.. huge huge issue that needs to be fixed immediately
I bought this jeep from BurkenKotter in Castle Rock Colorado back in april and ever since it stalls on me on the highway randomly and i lose my power steering and brakes and scares the crap out of me. it’s done this over 10 times over the 5 months ive owned it
My 2011 jeep grand Cherokee has a stalling problem when i am driving down the road and it locks up my steering and brakes and is very dangerous and i can not find the fix and it already has the external fuel pump relay recall and it still dies and my dealership in town doesn’t know what to do either and i’m still on the hook 9k for the jeep
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (Electrical system). The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where an inspection was performed that confirmed that the fuel pump relay needed replacement. The contact was then informed that parts were on backorder and to call back in a month to schedule an appointment. The contact returned in a month and was informed that parts were still on backorder and to try other dealers to see if they might have parts. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and informed him to call other dealers for assistance. The contact then called Central Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM Fiat of Norwood (56 Boston-Providence Turnpike, Norwood, MA 02062) where he was informed that there were hundreds of customers ahead of him and that the earliest he would be able to receive an appointment might be in six months. Recently, the contact stated that the check engine warning light had illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
In March 2021 my wife’s 2011Jeep Grand Cherokee was at Naples Chrysler-Jeep for a stalling problem where while driving, the car’s engine would stop while moving in traffic. Power steering and brakes lost power thereby making it nearly impossible to steer or stop without coasting to the side of the road. There was no warning from the vehicle that there was a problem. Once the car coasted to a stop, my wife was able to put the car in park and restart the car. This happened 4 or 5 times before taking it in for maintenance. After 2 weeks looking for a problem, they replaced a fuel pump relay in the TIPM. Again, in late July the car repeated the stall while driving 2 times. The car is currently at Naples Chrysler Jeep where techs are trying to duplicate the problem with no success. No codes came up during computer testing. We are reluctant to drive the vehicle if the technicians can’t locate and fix the problem before returning the car to us. Because of the sudden nature of the stall, we fear we could crash causing serious injury or death.
2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Alternator shorted and/or failed diode causing a fire under the hood. Started the vehicle and heard a strange noise from under the hood. Turned the vehicle off and opened the hood. Upon opening the hood smoke bellowed out. I could see an electrical component inside the alternator glowing red. The component glowed red and smoked until the battery was completely drained. While the vehicle didn't start on fire if it had this could have caused a large amount of damage as at the time of the incident the vehicle was parked inside a airport parking garage. Jeep has a recall for 2012 - 2014 models. The 2011 model year needs to be added to the recall. The failed alternator is available for inspection. Failed Component: Alternator, available for inspection Safety/Risk: Vehicle Fire Problem Confirmed By Dealer: Vehicle still in garage, to be towed 7/26/2021 Component Inspected: No Warnings: Unusual noise
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while pulling into a parking space with the foot on the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration causing the driver to lose control of the steering wheel and crashed into a building. During the crash the air bag deployed and the driver sustained injuries to the head back and neck which required medical treatment. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 66,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact was made aware of NHTSA campaign number: 19V813000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ALTERNATOR SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE THAT THE ALTERNATOR SAFETY COVERS IN THE MODEL YEAR 2012 VEHICLE BUT, THE RECALL WAS NOT EXTENDED TO THE MODEL YEAR 2011. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED.
My paint on the roof of my Jeep Grand Cherokee started bubbling and visible rust started appearing. After about a month my windshield cracked all the way across starting from where the rust made the paint bubble, this is the only part of the vehicle with any rust. I had USAA send Safelite to come repair my windshield and what I thought was minor rust damage. To my horror the damage from the bad paint/seal was extensive and the windshield can’t be replaced until the body of the Jeep is fixed. The windshield needing replaced is the original from the factory no part of my Jeep has ever been replaced, the only reason it needs to be fixed is because of the faulty paint/seal. I now have no windshield or drivable car. I have reached out and there are quite a few Jeep owners that experienced this same issue in the same exact location. It is now being held on by tape so there isn’t just a huge hole in the car. The day it cracked the vehicle had not left my driveway, but now my car is not in a state to drive anywhere. Also in outside temperatures exceeding 80 the seat belt warning light and air bag light come on, sometimes it stays sometimes it goes away. However when the airbag light is on it prevents them from deploying in case of an incident which could cause more serious injury or death. I have three open recalls as well, I call Roberson Jeep of Salem in March of 2021, I have not heard anything about the parts being ready, I called in June 2021 about an update and they have not started my claim.
While driving, an electric fire started in my Jeep due to a vanity lamp short (NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V879000) which is a known issue: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) recalled certain model year 2011-2013 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured December 3, 2009, to September 1, 2012. "In the affected vehicles, the wiring for the vanity lamp in the sun visor may short circuit, after having been remedied for a prior recall for the vanity lamp wiring." I had this recall completed in November of 2017, which was confirmed by the manufacturer during my phone conversation today. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. My safety and others was at extreme risk as I was driving when this fire occurred above my head and I had to quickly pull over and exit my vehicle in a very busy area. There was also melting material dripping from the visor that nearly reached me in the driver's seat, but thankfully I was able to move out of the way and it melted my driver seat instead (as shown in picture). The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The vehicle has not been inspected yet by the manufacturer or insurance representatives or any others, it is at the Jeep dealership and I am waiting to hear back from the manufacturer on next steps for the extensive damage before anything is done.
We had the latest recall repair completed for stalling while driving, it was a fuel pump relay I believe. I think we had it repaired in February/March. However this morning while driving to work our jeep stalled while slowing down to turn, the battery stayed on but the engine completely stalled & the power steering went out almost causing us to drive off the road. Luckily the brakes still worked but we had a semi behind us that nearly missed us as it also turned onto the same road.
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stopped, turn the vehicle off, and then opened the door to reset the system. The contact restarted the vehicle and started to drive under 50 MPH to prevent the failure from reoccurring. The vehicle was taken to the dealer seven times and diagnosed with a failed thermostat. The contact stated that the thermostat had been replaced seven times. The manufactured was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

I received notice of the V62 Fuel Pump Relay recall more than a year ago. It sounds like this is a serious safety issue, especially since I do much hwy. driving, & the Jeep could stall at any time. The local dealership, Brubaker @ 1020 Lititz Ave, Lancaster PA 17602 continues to tell me they can't get the part. Can you help me resolve this serious safety issue ?
My vehicle headlights will go on and off. My vehicle at headlights will further flicker on and off if they stay on. My engine will also turn off about 2-3 times a month when braking approaching a stop sign. I’ll have to put my car in park and wait about 10 seconds and the car will start again.
My vehicle has been leaking transmission fluid, this has caused shifting problems as well as ac problems i have done hours of research and its seems to be a common problem with 2011 jeep cherokee and i feel this need to be investigated! From what Ive read there seems to be welding issues and thats where the leaks are at. I have taken my vehicle for an inspection and the ac condensor needs to be replaced. I have taken for a second opinion and the same was discovered. After $750.00 later! I have grandchildren that i drive in this vehicle and am concerned about their safety as well as mine.

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (Electrical System). The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact contacted the dealer but was informed by the dealer that there was a waiting list since they only received one part for the recall repair per month. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue but provided no assistance. Parts distribution disconnect.
I had repeated engine stalling issues, usually when accelerating, but other times just randomly. The problem is usually momentary, the engine starts running again in seconds. It is also infrequent, only once or twice a month for a vehicle being driven daily. This has caused some very near misses when the vehicle behind me doesn't notice my sudden deceleration (there are no brake lights) and almost rear ends me. Fortunately I have not had any accidents. This was a problem on my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee VIN 1J8HR58T99C520366. A bad crankshaft position sensor wire in the harness was finally found and replaced which fixed the problem. The problem is very hard for the repair shop to verify, they won't take the vehicle out on the road and drive it long enough so it is hard to even convince them it is a real problem. The shops often attribute it to a bad fuel pump relay, a well known problem with recalls. The replacement relays have very limited availability. I have had to drive on a suspected bad relay for months before recall parts are available. I don't think the relay is the only defect which causes the problem. About 6 weeks ago my 2011 started exhibiting the problem again, but this time with more frequency and more dramatic engine out episodes. The dealer attributed it to the fuel pump relay, which they didn't have, then to a timing sensor (crankshaft I think) then to various other problems including corroded ECM connector pins which were replaced but didn't fix the problem. After 4 weeks in the shop they finally found a bad wire (which connects the suspect timing sensor) inside a wiring harness. The wire was replaced and the problem went away. That is one of the problems that was discovered on my 2009 model! That coincidence can't be explained as a random failures, there has to be a wiring harness issue.
Dash board is severely wrinkled. This could possibly interfere with the integrity of the air bags.
