RIGHT FRONT "ACTIVE" HEADREST, WHICH IS PART OF THE SUPPLEMENT RESTRAIN SYSTEM, FAILED AT 59,000 MILES FOR NO REASON. THE PLASTIC LATCH JUST BROKE; APPEARS TO BE TOO SMALL. CAR WAS NOT BEING DRIVEN AT THE TIME THE HEADREST FAILED. REPLACEMENT COST $900.
WHEN AT A STOP AND THEN ACCELERATE THERE IS A LARGE CLICKING NOISE-LIKE SOMETHING ISN'T CATCHING-I AM TOLD I NEED A NEW DRIVE SHAFT-WHICH ARE ON BACK ORDER FOR 3 MONTHS-
TRIED TO START MY JEEP IT WOULDN'T START. I USED THE PUSH BUTTON. I WAITED A FEW HRS AND TRIED AGAIN. SAME ISSUE. TRIED MY REMOTE START. STARTED UP. NEXT DAY USED THE PUSH START, STARTED UP NO PROBLEM, ON THE HIGHWAY (95) THE TRUCK WAS HESITATING WHEN GOING UP AN INCLINE. NEXT DAY PUSH START WON'T WORK, THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER AS USUAL BUT WOULDN'T START. REMOTE START AND IT STARTED UP. SON TOOK IT AND PUT IT ON THE DIAGNOSIS MACHINE AND SAID THERE WEREN'T ANY CODES. RESEARCHING A HARD STARTING PROBLEM I'VE READ TONS OF POSTS VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED. I CALLED THE DEALER TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. ASKED COULD IT POSSIBLY BE THE SAME ISSUE THAT MY TRUCK WAS RE CALLED ON ALREADY. HE SAID MIGHT BE R09 FUEL RELAY RECALL, TIMP PROBLEM, (RECALL WAS A TEMPORARY SOLUTION TO INSTALL A FUEL PUMP HARNESS BYPASS SO THAT THE FUEL PUMP TURNS OFF) BUT THAT IF IT IS, THE DEALER SAID THEY ALREADY REPLACED THAT AND WILL NOT DO AGAIN UNLESS IT IS PD FOR, AFTER THEY PUT THE JEEP ON THEIR DIAGNOSIS MACHINE AT $175.00 PER HR. SO AFTER THEY COMPLETED THE 9TH RECALL I PICK UP MY JEEP WITH HOPES THAT I COULD DO MORE RESEARCH. I ALSO CALLED JEEP. THE LADY WAS VERY NICE BUT THEY WILL DO NOTHING EXCEPT ADD MY COMPLAINT TO THEIR SYSTEM. I FOUND OUT THAT MANY PEOPLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS I DO! JEEP/CHRYSLER HAVE PUT FAULTY TIMP IN THESE CARS AND DO NOT WANT TO PUT A RECALL OUT ON THEM. MANY CARS WITH MY MODEL HAVE HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS. THE FAULTY TIMP HAS THE FUEL PUMP RUNNING CONSTANTLY WHICH DRAINS THE BATTERY IT RUNS WHEN THE CAR IS OFF. NOW IF I 'TRY' TO START THE VEHICLE IT SMELLS LIKE SOMETHING IS BURNING. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I FOUND THE ISSUE TO BE A TIMP PROBLEM AND NOW AM AWARE THAT I AM NOT ALONE. THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT MORE JEEP OWNERS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY AND TIPM. CAR WILL CRANK BUT NOT START. IF THE CAR STARTS IT WILL STALL.
The contact's wife owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that initially the passenger’s side headlight would intermittently flash on and off while in operation without warning. The contact then stated that both headlights would intermittently fail to illuminate while driving at various speeds without warning. The headlights would eventually return after a few seconds of non-operation. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED OVERNIGHT IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE ENGINE FAILED TO START THE FOLLOWING DAY AND THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB MARIANO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (146 MANCHESTER ST, CONCORD, NH 03301, (603) 556-8616) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE NEEDED. THE DEALER ALSO ORDERED A NEW PCM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
MY 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S ALTERNATOR DIED. THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON WHILE PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND THE NEXT MORNING THE JEEP WAS DEAD. IT IS COVERED UNDER THE T36 RECALL. THE PCM WENT AS WELL AND IS SUPPOSEDLY ALSO COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. HOWEVER, THE BATTERY WAS ALSO DAMAGED AND DESTROYED. THIS SITUATION COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE. THE DEALER, BOB MARIANO JEEP DEALER, AT 146 MANCHESTER ST, CONCORD, NH 03301 TELLS ME THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE BATTERY. THIS COST SHOULD NOT BE PLACED ON THE CUSTOMER. THE BATTERY SHOULD BE PAID FOR BY THE DEALER. THE BATTERY WAS DAMAGED BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY ALTERNATOR, SO WAS THE PCM WHICH IS BEING COVERED. THE SHORT CIRCUIT THAT OCCURRED IN THE ALTERNATOR CAUSED BOTH THE BATTERY AND PCM TO DIE. SO WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR A NEW BATTERY? THE DEALER IS GOING TO CHARGE ME $332.50 FOR THE BATTERY PLUS $119.90 TO INSTALL THE BATTERY. THE SAME MOPAR BATTERY GOES FOR APPROXIMATELY $230.00. AGAIN, THE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE IS APPALLING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CRANK THE VEHICLE WITH THE PUSH START BUTTON, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING THE SAME FAILURES AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V115000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A CASE NUMBER WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.
THE 4WHEEL DRIVE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. VEHICLE WOULD NOT REGISTER IT WAS IN PARK OR TURN OFF. HAD TO PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS I WAS ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES. SOUNDS LIKE THE TCU MAY BE AN ISSUE.
THE HEADREST ON MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE VIOLENTLY POPPED (EXPLODED) WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT CAUSE. WHEN THIS HAPPENED IT PRODUCED A LOUD STARTLING NOISE AND STRUCK MY DAUGHTERS HEAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING STRAIGHT AT ABOUT 25 MPH ON A CITY STREET WHEN THIS HAPPENED. AN INTERNAL PLASTIC MECHANISM IN THE HEADREST APPEARS TO HAVE BROKEN AND NOW THE HEADREST IS PERMANENTLY IN THE POPPED POSITION.
INTERMITTENTLY THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL BE VERY STIFF WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE AND BACKING OUT. AFTER A FEW MILES IT WILL EASE UP. BUT IF A SUDDEN STOP IS NEEDED IT IS HARD TO PUSH DOWN AGAIN. OTHER TIMES IT FUNCTIONS NORMALLY. I NOTICED THIS ON THE TEST DRIVE OF THE VEHICLE BUT THE DEALER SAID THEY DIDN'T SEE ANY ISSUES I BOUGHT THIS CAR AROUND MARCH OF 2019. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING INTERMITTENTLY
I HAVE A 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED 4X4 AND HAD A TICKING NOISE WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE AND TURNING IT OFF THAT COMES AND GOES AWAY. WE HAVE HAD IT DIAGNOSED TO BE THE TRANSFER CASE MODULE AND WHEN RESEARCHING TO SEE IF I CAN BUY THE PART, I WAS ADVISED IT'S ON A NATIONAL BACKORDER WITH THE DEALER AND AFTERMARKET. ALSO WHILE RESEARCHING, SAW MULTIPLE REPORTS STATING THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING MULTIPLE TIMES AND MAKES THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. MY VEHICLE IS USED FOR WORK AND DRIVEN ALL DAY ON THE FREEWAY. I'VE ALSO READ THAT THERE ARE NO WARNING SIGNS AND THEN IT'S BLOWN OUT AND UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN UNTIL FIXED. I WORRY ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT ALL AS I DON'T WANT IT STALLING ON THE HIGHWAY OR ANYWHERE ELSE. I WORRY IT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT I CAN'T PREVENT AS THE VEHICLE MAY JUST SUDDENLY STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. BEEN A REOCCURRING ISSUE FOR MYSELF FOR ABOUT A MONTH OR TWO.
DRIVER SIDE HEADREST (AHR SYSTEM) HAS DEPLOYED AND IS BROKEN. IT APPEARS THE PLASTIC CLAMPS THAT HOLD THE HEADREST IN PLACE ARE BRITTLE WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE .
ABOUT A MONTH AGO FROM THIS DATE, I REMOTE STARTED THE VEHICLE BEFORE LEAVING MY HOME, OPENED THE HOUSE DOOR AND IT WASNT RUNNING. I ENTERED THE VEHICLE AND TRIED TO START IT WITH THE KEY FOB. NOTHING HAPPENED OTHER THAN THE VEHICLE TURNING OVER WITHOUT STARTING. BEEN THIS WAY SINCE. IT WILL START AFTER MANY, MANY ATTEMPTS BY TURNING THE KEY AND EVENTUALLY STARTING. THERE IS NO FUEL PUMP NOISE WHEN THE KEY IS CYCLED NUMEROUS TIME FROM ACC TO ON POSITION.
THE CAR HAS ISSUES STARTING UP AND WHEN YOU TRY TO START THE CAR THE BRAKE BECOME STIFF AND THE CAR WILL NOT START BUT WILL CRANK. ALSO AS I WAS DRIVING THE CAR CUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING OR WHEN I STOP AT THE RED LIGHT THE CAR JUST CUTS OFF AND I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK TURN THE CAR OFF AND WAIT AND RESTART AFTER 5 MINUTES AND IT STARTS WITH NO ISSUES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT VEERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT THEN DROVE TO NORTHGATE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (8536 COLERAIN AVE, CINCINNATI, OH 45251, (661) 395-3005) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
I BOUGHT MY JEEP LAST YEAR SOMETIME IN TOWARDS THE END OF MARCH. IT WAS TOWARDS THE MIDDLE OF THE SUMMER I STARTED TO NOTICED THE LEATHER ON MY FRONT DASHBOARD STARTING TO LIFT AND BUBBLE IN SOME AREAS. BY THE END OF THE SUMMER U HAVE MASSIVE AREAS THAT ARE STARTING TO BUNCH UP ALL OVER MY DASHBOARD. AS I STARTED TO LOOK THE PROBLEM UP DUE TO IVE NEVER SEEN A DASHBOARD DO THIS BEFORE. IVE COME TO LEARN THIS IS A ISSUE ON ALOT OF JEEPS MY YEAR AND JEEP IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. I BROUGHT IT TO A UPHOLSTERY SHOP AND THEY ALSO SAID THEY HAVE SEEN THIS ALOT ON THE JEEP OF MY YEAR AND THAT JEEP WONT DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT. THEN THE SHOPS SAYS ITS GONNA COST ALMOST 4-6 THOUSAND TO REPAIR DUE TO THE LEATHER ON THE DASH IS SHRINKING AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE DASHBOARD.
THE DAMAGES DIRECTLY CAUSED BY THE ALTERNATOR RECALL DIRECTLY RELATED TO MY 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ARE BEING DECLINED TO BE COVERED BY DEALERSHIP IN A VACAVILLE CALIFORNIA. THEY ARE WANTING TO CHARGE ME $1000 FOR DAMAGES TO MY VEHICLE THAT WERE CAUSED BY ALTERNATOR ISSUE.
MY 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND STARTED TO SMOKING FROM THE ALTERNATOR AND BURNED UP ALMOST CATCHING FIRE. THERE WAS A RECALL THAT THEY ONLY LOOKED AT THE ALTERNATOR NEVER REPLACING IT. I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS RECALL, I WANT TO BE CONTACTED IN REGARDS TO THIS FAULTY PART THAT ALMOST CAUGHT MY JEEP ON FIRE. I FEEL THIS PART SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE JEEP WAS RUNNING STATIONARY WHEN IT STARTED WHISTLING AND MAKING A BAD NOICE. ONCE I STARTED TO DRIVE IT TO AUTO ZONE IT GOT WORSE AND STARTED SMOKING, MAKING A LOUD WHISTLING SOUND AND CHOKING LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE. WHEN I PULLED INTO AUTO ZONE IT WAS SMOKING BAD, SMELT ELECTRIC BURNING AND IT WAS ALL COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED 60 MILES BACK HOME AND ANOTHER 12 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT NEXT MONDAY MORNING BECAUSE THIS HAPPENED ON A SUNDAY WHEN EVERYTHING WAS CLOSED. IF IT'S A RECALL I WANT IT REPLACED, TOW PAID FOR AND THE TIME IT'S BEEN OUT OF COMMISSION.
VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND TRANSMISSION PLACED IN DRIVE, THEN DRIVEN ONTO A CITY STREET ACCOMPANIED BY AN UNUSUAL WHINING NOISE, LURCHING, AND IMPAIRED ACCELERATION. VEHICLE WAS LIMPED INTO A PARKING LOT, PLACED IN PARK AND SHUT OFF AGAIN, AFTER WHICH IT WOULD NO LONGER CRANK. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP WHERE INITIALLY THE STARTER WAS REPLACED. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE TECHNICIAN REPORTED SPARKS AND A STRONG BURNING SMELL FROM THE ALTERNATOR, WHICH HE DECLARED UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE ALTERNATOR WAS THEN REPLACED, AFTER WHICH THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE OR PCM WAS ALSO FOUND TO HAVE FAILED AND WAS REPLACED. THE PRIMARY CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM HERE IS UNCLEAR, BUT THE SAFETY CONCERN STEMS FROM THE SHORTING ALTERNATOR MAKING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IT SEEMS LIKELY THAT HAD THE DRIVER BEEN UNABLE TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER, THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE CAUGHT FIRE AND/OR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN TRAFFIC. AS OTHER, SIMILAR VEHICLES FROM THIS MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR WEAK ALTERNATOR DIODES FAILING CATASTROPHICALLY (P60 / NHTSA 14V-634), IT SEEMS REASONABLE TO INVESTIGATE WHETHER THIS HAZARD EXISTS IN THIS AND OTHER SIMILAR VEHICLES ALSO.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON INTERMITTENTLY THE LAST 5 MONTHS. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AUTO ZONE FOR A CODE READER A FEW TIMES AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO PINPOINT THE EXACT PROBLEM BECAUSE THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD DISAPPEAR OR MULTIPLE CODES WOULD APPEAR. THE VEHICLE WOULD AT TIMES SEEM TO LOSE POWER ESPECIALLY GOING UP HILL WHETHER IT WAS ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET A TRUE DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE ON 6/15/19 WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL SHOWING ON MY DASHBOARD. THEY CODE READER GAVE P0128 SO I ENDED UP HAVING TO GET MY THERMOSTAT GAUGE REPLACED AND TOTAL REPAIRS WITH DIAGNOSTIC WERE $309.15. I FOUND IT FRUSTRATING AND UNSAFE THAT FOR 5 MONTHS THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY APPEAR. AFTER A TRIP OUT OF TOWN AND DROVE A TOTAL OF CLOSE TO 1200 MILES, THE LIGHT STAYED ON. AT THIS POINT, IT IS WHEN I DECIDED TO TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE THE ENGINE LIGHT DISAPPEARED. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE SEATBELT WARNING LIGHT WOULD NOT ALWAYS ALERT IF A PASSENGER DID NOT HAVE THEIRS ON. I TRIED TO GO BACK AND SELECT THE SEATBELT PROBLEM SELECTION, BUT IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO.
I HAVE BEEN SINCE 2017 (SEPTEMBER) WITH A SITUATION OF A RECALL T36, THE SITUATION WAS RESOLVED TEMPORARILY (SEE ANNEXES INCLUDED). I WAS THEN ASSIGNED TO A CONSULTANT MR. LUCAS FIGUEROA, WORK MY CASE AND CLEARLY INDICATED THROUGH EMAILS (I HAVE ALL THE EVIDENCE) THAT THE ALTERNATOR (BY THEN 2017) WAS NOT AVAILABLE ANYWHERE, TRIANGLE DEALER DEL OESTE WAS INSTALLED A PIECE THAT WAS NOT THE RECALL WHILE THE PIECE WAS AVAILABLE. I MUST CLARIFY THAT THIS SITUATION OCCURRED ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2017 AND I WAS DELIVERED MY BUS ON NOVEMBER 9, 2017. YOU CAN REFER TO CASE #11039953 ASSIGNED BY NHTSA. I AM DEMANDING TO HAVE THE T36 RECALL PART INSTALLED. IT CLEARLY INDICATES IN THE COMMUNICATIONS THAT IT IS A TEMPORARY REMEDY. AND EVEN MORE, I WAS TOLD THAT WHEN THE PART WAS AVAILABLE OR MANUFACTURED THEM (AN FCA OFFICER) WOULD CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW THAT I COULD PASS TO INSTALL THE SAME. I NEVER GOT THE CALL. I NEED THIS CASE HANDLED WITH THE SERIOUSNESS IT DESERVES. RECALL DEALER T59 (WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE) I EXPLAIN ABOUT THE RECALL PENDING THE T36 (ALTERNATOR) AND I AM NOTIFIED THAT THE ALTERNATOR IS ALREADY INSTALLED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND 17V572000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY RECALL LETTERS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GANLEY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (310 BROADWAY AVE, BEDFORD, OH 44146, (440) 232-2121) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY CAUSED THE FAILURES. THE DEALER WANTED TO CHARGE THE CONTACT FOR BOTH REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.

IN ORDER TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE, THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE TAKEN APART AT A HIGH COST. BENSON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (400 W WADE HAMPTON BLVD, GREER, SC 29650, (864) 877-0161) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER OFFERED A TRADE IN WITH THE CONTACT HAVING A NEGATIVE EQUITY BALANCE ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER FILED A COMPLAINT FROM THE CONTACT AND REFERRED HER TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
A letter was sent during Covid lockdown that my Jeep may have an issue with the dash and wrinkling of material. I called when I felt safe to come in and Southpoint Dealership in Tulsa, OK told me that it was only offered for a short period of time and that this could no longer be addressed. It is distracting to have the bunching of leather in my view while driving. Apparently other vehicles are having similar issues. Why was this only allowed to be addressed during Covid Lockdown? I did take it to the dealership, and they took images of the material bunching on the dash. Nothing was done for it. Currently my car is at Southpoint (last two weeks for one recall). I can take images when I get it back if you would like.

I HAD A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP RELAY, I HAD IT FIXED ON FEBRUARY 24,2015, TODAY I HAD TO REPLACE IT AGAIN, MY CAR STALLED 2X WHILE DRIVING,IT ALSO WOULDN'T START SEVERAL TIMES, WOULD CRANK BUT NOT START. I CALLED MOPAR AND WENT TO JEEP DEALERSHIP AND BOTH REFUSED TO REPLACE FOR FREE. I KEEP A SPARE WITH ME NOW IN CASE I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. I DON'T WANT TO BE STUCK IN NO MANS LAND LATE AT NIGHT. I HAVE AAA ALSO. I JUST HOPE THIS ISN'T GOING TO BE A CONSTANT PROBLEM THE CONSUMER STATED THE THERE WAS RECALL ON THE VEHICLE, BUT THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE JEEP DEALERSHIP SAID THE CRANKSHAFT LOST AT LEAST ONE OF THE RAISED PORTIONS THAT LIFTS THE LIFTERS AND THE FILLINGS DAMAGED THE PISTON CYLINDER WALLS REQUIRING THE ENGINE HEADS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER $10,000. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact shifted the vehicle to park and restarted the vehicle. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to the dealer in 2020 and the dealer completed an interim repair however, the dealer forwarded a recall repair report to the manufacturer even though the final recall repair was not completed on the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that only an interim repair was completed on the vehicle as the final repair part had not become available until 2021. The manufacturer provided no assistance as the recall repair was marked as completed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer however, the dealer declined to complete the final recall repair on the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

THE HEADREST SAFETY FEATURE MALFUNCTIONED AND DEPLOYED INCORRECTLY. IT DEPLOYED DURING NORMAL USE OF THE VEHICLE AND NOT DURING AN ACCIDENT. THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE WHEN IT DEPLOYED, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EVEN IN MOTION. THERE IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS PRODUCT. MY WIFE AND I ARE WORRIED ABOUT THE OTHER HEADREST DEPLOYING WHILE WE ARE DRIVING AND CONCERNED ABOUT OUR SAFETY. WE WERE IN TAMPA, FL WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO CHRYSLER BUT THEY DIDN'T SEEM CONCERNED, DESPIT ACKNOWLEDGING THE DANGER THIS COULD CAUSE WHILE DRIVING.

TRANSFER CASE ACTUATOR CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO JUMP IN AND OUT OF 4 WHEEL DRIVE CAUSES GRINDING NOISES AND JERKING. WHICH THEREFORE CAUSES A HAZARD ON THE ROAD.
THE VEHICLE HAS STOPPED DEAD ON AT LEAST 8 OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST YEAR. THE CAR IS RUNNING AND MOVING BUT SUDDENLY STOPS. NO LIGHTS NO MOTOR NOISE NO ABILITY TO STEER OFF THE ROAD. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR AT CITY SPEEDS AND STREETS NEVER ON A HIGHWAY NOTHING HAS SHOWED UP ON DIAGNOSTICS AND NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO FIX IT. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. THE JEEP DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG ON DIAGNOSTICS SO THERE IS NOTHING TO FIX. THE DEALERSHIPS HEAD MECHANIC IS NOT RETURNING CALLS. I WAS RESEARCHING AND FOUND THAT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL INCLUDING 2011 TO 2014. MINE IS 2013. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT SPEAK TO THIS ISSUE. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT A TAKAYUKI RECALL IS, I GAVE THE LAST DATE THIS HAPPEND.
CAR SHUT DOWN/WOULD ONLY CRANK WOULD NOT START. NO FUEL TO ENGINE. CAR SHUT DOWN AT STREET LIGHT. TAPPED ON RELAYS IN RELAY BOX UNDER HOOD THE VEHICLE STARTED.
WHILE DRIVING FORWARD MY BACKUP CAMERA CAME ON AND WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. WHEN IT DID SHUT OFF, I HEARD THIS SIZZLING NOISE AND THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WENT OUT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THEN IT WENT OFF AND CAME BACK ON AND HAS BEEN ON EVER SINCE.
THE PANELING WHICH IS IN LAYED ON THE DOORS AND THE FRONT DASH ARE PEELING. THESE PIECES ARE SHARP. AS THEY PEEL PASSENGERS, INCLUDING CHILDREN CAN CUT THEMSELVES. MY OWN CHILD RECEIVED AN INJURY FROM ONE OF THESE PIECES. JEEP SENT A RECALL LETTER TO MY ADDRESS, ADVISING ME TO GO TO ANY JEEP DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE ISSUE FIXED. THE CROWN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE ON 6350 PERIMETER LOOP DRIVE ACCEPTED THE REPAIR ON 2 OCCASIONS BUT NEVER REPAIRED THE ISSUE. THERE WAS NO FOLLOW UP OR REASON GIVEN FOR NOT COMPLETING THE REPAIR, EVEN AFTER KEEPING MY VEHICLE FOR 3 DAYS. BUT ITS NOT AN OFFICIAL RECALL. I THINK JEEP SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING OBVIOUS INTERIOR DAMAGE AND ESPECIALLY THAT THAT COULD INJURE PASSENGERS.

IN THE REAR, THERE IS A POPPING NOISE WHILE TURNING OR TAKING OFF FROM A DEAD STOP AT A LIGHT IT POPS REAL LOUD AND CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO JERK. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND NOT ON. WHEN I SIT IN THE VEHICLE AND PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PRESS THE START BUTTON THE VEHICLE ONLY HALF CRANKS AND THE ELECTRIC ONLY TURNS ON. IT TAKES A FEW TRIES AFTER TURNING POWER OFF AND OPENING THE DOOR UNTIL IT WILL ACTUALLY START FULLY.

I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT IN THE 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S ARE KNOWN TO HAVE COMPUTER PROBLEMS! MY COMPUTER WAS JUST REPLACED 2 YEARS AGO AND WHEN I WENT TO GET MY CAR SERVICED (OIL CHANGE), I WAS TOLD THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS READING CODES THAT WOULD SUGGEST MY COMPUTER IS GOING OUT AGAIN.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. P0520 DEFAULT CODE RE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR/SWITCH. IN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, IT APPEARS THAT DESPITE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS BY OTHERS FOR EXACT SAME ISSUE, NO RECALL BY JEEP. MY MECHANIC ALSO NOTED THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE FOR JEEP. JEEP CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THIS VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. JEEP NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL AND REIMBURSE FOR THIS REPAIR.

A FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILURE CAN RESULT IN A STALL CONDITION IF THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING OR A NO-START CONDITION IF NOT RUNNING. I USE CURRENTLY MY CAR FOR WORKS MATTER.
