LUG NUTS HAVE STARTED SWELLING OR BALLOONING AND HAVE STARTED BREAKING. 3 LUG NUTS HAVE BALLOONED WHERE THEY ARE NO LONGER TIGHT ON THE STUD. THE OTHER LUG NUTS CAN'T BE REMOVED WITHOUT BREAKING THE STUD. IF I'M HAVE A FLAT, I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE TIRE WITHOUT BREAKING THE LUG STUD.
CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTIONS WITH MULTIPLE ISSUES. WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON BOTH HIGHWAYS OR ON CITY'S STREETS, THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT ENGAGE MOST OF THE TIME. WHEN IT DOES ENGAGE, IT WILL RANDOMLY TURN OFF, TURN ITSELF ON, DECELERATE, ACCELERATE ON IT'S OWN. IN MAY OF 2017 THIS SAME ISSUE WAS ADDRESS BY THE DEALER UNDER THE WARRANTY AND I WAS ASSURED IT WAS FIXED. TODAY, JANUARY 2019. I AM STARTING TO HAVE A REPEAT OF THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTIONS OF RANDOM DECELERATION, RANDOM ACCELERATIONS OR RANDOMLY TURNING OFF OR ON WHAIL IN MOTION. THIS IS A DAILY REACCUANCE STARTING AGAIN ON 1/3/2019. NOW THAT THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED, THE DEALERSHIP LARRY MILLER OF BOISE WILL REQUIRE PAYMENT FOR DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIR OF AN OBVIOUS VEHICAL SAFETY ISSUE THAT WAS ADDRESSED BY THEM PRIOR UNDER WARRANTY.
CRUISE CONTROL SUDDENLY DOES NOT KICK OFF USING CONTROLS UNLESS BRAKES ARE APPLIED, NOR DOES IT ENGAGE ALL OF THE TIME. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN WHEN VEHICLE IS MOVING OR STATIONARY BUT WILL SOMETIMES OCCUR AFTER BLINKER IS USED. NO BLIND SPOT DETECTION ALERT OR MESSAGE AT ALL.
STATIONARY, BUT UPON ACCELERATING THE ENGINE HESITATES ALL THE TIME. IF FEELS LIKE THERE IS HESITATION, SOMEWHAT, WHEN SHIFTING GEARS.
TL* THE CONTACT'S PARENTS OWN A 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST MOTIVE POWER AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN TO BLAKE FULENWIDER CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP LOCATED AT (305 16TH STREET, SNYDER, TX 79549), WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. ONCE RESTARTED, THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V115000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,662.
WHILE MY JEEP WAS PARKED, ENGINE OFF, IN MY DRIVEWAY (FLAT SURFACE), MY 7 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WENT TO GET OUT OF THE BACK SEAT. SHE TOUCHED ON TO THE METAL POLE FRAME OF THE DRIVERS HEADREST WITH HER HAND TO ASSIST HER IN GETTING OUT OF THE CAR, THE HEADREST EXPLODED AND HIT HER IN THE SIDE OF THE HEAD. IT HIT HER HARD ENOUGH FOR HER TO BE STUNNED AND TO SAY SHE SAW STARS. THERE ARE DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS HAPPENING YET NO RECALL. CHRYSLER HAS HAD TO RECALL THESE SO CALLED ACTIVE HEADRESTS BEFORE BUT MY JEEP WAS NOT INCLUDED. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND FIX AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
THE ACTIVE HEADREST RESTRAINT DEPLOYED DESPITE NOT BEING INVOLVED IN ANY COLLISIONS, EVER. IT APPEARS THAT THE PLASTIC, THAT HOLDS IN A PIN, FAILED. THE PIN IS STILL STUCK WITHIN THE LATCH IN THE BACK OF THE HEADREST. AND THE HEADREST CANNOT HE RESET, AS THE PLASTIC IS BLOWN APART. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ADVISED THAT THE ONLY REPAIR TO THIS PROBLEM IS A NEW HEADREST.
WE WERE DRIVING DOWN A COUNTRY ROAD AT ROUGHLY 20MPH, MY WIFE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE THE HEAD REST EXPLODED AND INJURED MY WIFE IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD WITH SOME SERIOUS FORCE. AFTER PULLING OVER AND INSPECTING THE ISSUE I NOTICED THE HEAD REST'S PLASTIC BRACKET HOLDING IT ON HAD FAILED AND BROKE IN HALF. I BELIEVE THIS IS A FEATURE FOR A REAR END COLLISION BUT WE HAVE NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT IN THIS VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY NOT WHEN THE HEAD REST EXPLODED.
FUEL PUMP RELAY RECALL COMPLETED OVER A YEAR AGO AND FUEL PUMP STILL QUIT ON ME 30NOV2018 WHILE DRIVING OVER A BRIDGE. CAR WILL NOT CURRENTLY START DUE TO FUEL SYSTEM.
FUEL PUMP RELAY: OUR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS BEEN HARD TO START FOR SOME TIME. IT JUST TURNS OVER AS NORMAL BUT DOESN'T START. THE FUEL PUMP RELAY HAS SUPPOSEDLY BEEN FIXED BUT IT IS ACTING AS BEFORE THE RELAY REPAIR. SINCE THE RELAY RECALL HAS BEEN 'FIXED', I PUT IN A NEW FUEL PUMP. IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. JEEP NEEDS TO STEP UP AND FIX THESE!
WHEN IN PARK... PRESSING THE START BUTTON THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN OVER... IT CLICKS AND STOPS ON ITS OWN. I AWAIT MINUTES AND THEN PRESS THE START BUTTON.. THE ENGINE STARTS.. . IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I PARK FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, AND START UP. I REPLACED A BATTERY, BUT IT STILL DOES IT. I FIND MYSELF STUCK OFTEN, I DONE THE RESEARCH AND HAVE OTHER COLLEAGUES WHOM HAVE GRAND JEEP CHEROKEES BUT YEAR 2014. THEY WERE ENTITLED TO A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUES WITH THEIR JEEP AS MINE. THIS HAPPENED NOVEMBER 17 2018 AND NOVEMBER 22ND..ONCE EACH AFTERNOON.
CAR WILL CRANK BUT NOT START, DEALER REFUSES TO COMPLETE THE RECALL FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. RECALL RO9 IS AN EXPANSION OF 14V-530
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT DEACTIVATE. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED BRIAN BEMIS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1825 DEKALB AVE, SYCAMORE, IL 60178, (815) 895-8105), BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000. *TT CONSUMER CALLED FIAT CHRYSLER AND HAD THE VEHICLER FIXED.*JB
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ONE NIGHT MY JEEP STARTED MAKING A WHINING SOUND. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE HEATER SINCE IT WAS 12 DEGREES OUTSIDE THAT NIGHT. I LEAVE FOR WORK, GET ABOUT 6 MILES DOWN THE ROAD AND MY JEEP STARTS FAILING. WARNING LIGHTS, BATTERY, TRACTION CONTROL, WIPERS SLOWLY GO ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD, LIGHTS DIMMING. I GOT TO A SAFE SPOT TO PULL OVER BUT IN THE PROCESS OF STOPPING MY VEHICLE LOST ALL FUNCTIONALOTY (NO BREAKS, POWER STEERING, LIGHTS, ALL ELECTRONICS GONE) AND COULDNT STOP. IT FINALLY STOPS AND I'M LEFT WITH A COMPLETELY DEAD VEHICLE. 12AM IN FREEZING WEATHER WHILE 5 MONTHS PREGNANT. WHEN MY BOYFRIEND ARRIVED TO GET ME, HE NOTICED A STRONG BURNING SMELL COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. AT THIS TIME THE VEHICLE HAD SAT BARELY OUT OF THE ROAD IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT WITH NO HAZARDS POSSIBLE TO ALLOW OTHER DRIVERS TO SEE ME. WE FIND OUT THAT THERE IS AN ALTERNATOR RECALL ON MY JEEP AND TAKE IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS SCHEDULING ALLOWED. BEFORE ALTERNATOR BLEW MY JEEP HAD ZERO ISSUES. THEY HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 4 DAYS AND CALLED TO SAY MY JEEP WAS FIXED (NO LOANER CAR OFFERED). I GO UP THE NEXT DAY, THEY REPLACED THE PCM AND ALTERNATOR, THEY SAY NOTHING ELSE. I GO TO START MY JEEP AND IT CRANKS FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND STARTS. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. I GO BACK INSIDE TO THE DEALER WHO HAS SAID NOTHING THE LAST 2 DAYS ABOUT MY VEHICLE NOT RUNNING PROPERLY AND THEY TELL ME IT IS MY CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. AND THEY SAID THEY COULDNT PROMISE THE CAR WOULD MAKE IT HOME AND IT WAS MY PROBLEM. UNHAPPY WITH RESULTS WE CALL CHRYSLER AND THEY TELL THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THAT. IT DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEMS CONTINUE AND CHRYSLER IS NO LONGER WILLING TO FIX OBVIOUS DAMAGE FROM THEIR ALTERNATOR FAILURE FRYING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO TOLD ME TO FILE A "FAKE" FIRE CLAIM ON MY INSURANCE. STILL UNRESOLVED.
WHILE DRIVING, FUEL PUMP QUIT WORKING. AFTER STOPPING, CAR WOULD NOT START.
LEATHER ON DASHBOARD HAS SEPARATED AND BUBBLED DUE TO MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. JEEP WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE STATING IT IS "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ON THE OVERLAND TRIM THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A HIGH END TRIM MODEL

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER A SIMILAR UNKNOWN RECALL HOWEVER, TWO YEARS AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR THE FAILURE OCCURRED. JACKSONVILLE CHRYSLER, JEEP, DODGE AND RAM (11101 NURSERYFIELDS DR, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32256, (904) 493-0000) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
HAVING ISSUES WITH PREVIOUS RECALL R09. THE PROBLEM HAS RESURFACE AGAIN. JUST TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR REPAIRS. ARE OTHERS HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THIS REPAIR
PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR ACCIDENT CANNOT GET IT BACK IN PLACE OR TO LOCK IN
THE JEEP HAS BEEN LOCKING ON ITS OWN WHEN IN PARK, WHILE STILL RUNNING OR TURNED OFF WITH THE KEYS STILL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. WHEN I PARK, TURN OFF THE CAR, GET OUT OF THE DRIVER SEAT, CLOSE THE DRIVER DOOR, IT LOCKED BEFORE I COULD OPEN THE REAR DOOR TO GET MY TWO KIDS OUT!!!
CRANKS AND DOSEN'T START
BELOW IS THE READ OUT FOR A RECALL THAT IS ON A FEW OTHER GRAND CHEROKEE'S. MY VEHICLE STALLED THE OTHER DAY WHEN MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND HAD TO BE RESTARTED. THE PROBLEM: THE ALTERNATOR MAY SUDDENLY FAIL, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. THE ALTERNATOR ALSO MAY SHORT CIRCUIT, INCREASING THE RISK OF A FIRE.

THE LOCAL DEALER THOMPSON JEEP LOCATED AT 1102 BUSINESS CENTER WAY, EDGEWOOD, MD 21040 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
KEY REMOTE WITH REMOTE START. HAS ISSUES WITH LOCATING THE REMOTE KEY LOCK AND UNLOCK/REMOTE START. REFUSES TO START (PUSH BUTTON) BECAUSE IT CANNOT LOCATE KEY. FRESH BATTERIES AND IT WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK DOORS (WHILE SITTING IN DRIVERS SEAT) AND IT STILL CAN NOT LOCATE THE KEY IN ORDER TO START. IT HAS EVEN FLASHED THE "NO KEY" WARNING WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD TO PULL OVER AND START AND STOP THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FEAR OF THIS VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT DOES EVENTUALLY LOCATE THE KEY AND RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THIS IS HAPPENING EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS.

ALSO, WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE CONTACT NOTICED LIGHT SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CABRERA AUTO (CARR #2KM 82.2 SALIDA EXPRESO HATILLO, PR 2, 006,14, PR, (787) 333-8410), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THE PLASTIC RETAINING BRACKETS IN THE HEADREST'S ACTIVE RESTRAINT SYSTEM FAILED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, CAUSING THE HEADREST TO FLY INTO THE BACK OF MY HEAD. THIS CAUSED SOME TEMPORARY DISORIENTATION AND I THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD REAR-ENDED ME. LUCKILY I DID NOT LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUED ON MY WAY.
I WAS DRIVING MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ON THE STREET, TURNING THE CORNER AT AN INTERSECTION, THE ENGINE LOST ALL POWER, TURNED OFF, AND I LOST CONTROL OF THE POWER STEERING AND VEHICLE IN GENERAL. I ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN THAT WAS WALKING ON THE SIDEWALK. THIS WAS A CITY STREET, THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, AND I WAS TURNING LEFT. I HAVE CALLED THE JEEP DEALERSHIP REPEATEDLY TELLING THEM ABOUT THIS SYMPTOM OF MY VEHICLE. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING WHEN TRY TO TURN IT ON, THE ENGINE WILL TURN OVER REPEATEDLY BUT NOT FIRE UP. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, IT SOMETIMES WILL START. IT IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE. OTHER TIMES I NEED TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. I FEEL THIS IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO RECALL R09, EVEN THOUGH THIS RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE, THESE ARE THE SAME SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED, SO I THINK THE PROBLEM IS BACK EVEN AFTER THE RECALL. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER/JEEP. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AT RIVER OAKS JEEP/CHRYSLER ON 4807 KIRBY DRIVE IN HOUSTON TX, 77098, AND PAID FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THEY INITIALLY WERE NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. AFTER A COUPLE DAYS THEY SAID THE FUEL PUMP WAS NOT HOLDING PRESSURE AND WOULD COST $2000 TO REPLACE. I CAN NOT AFFORD THAT RIGHT NOW, AND I DECLINED REPAIRS. I CALLED THE HEADQUARTERS FOR CHRYSLER/JEEP DEALERSHIP AND ASKED FOR THEM TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A MALFUNCTIONING PART RELATED TO A RECALL, AND THEY REFUSED. THIS IS DOCUMENTED UNDER CASE #34923344. I FEEL CHRYSLER JEEP SHOULD EITHER REPLACE MY FUEL PUMP RELAY AGAIN, EVEN AFTER IT WAS ALREADY DONE ONCE UNDER RECALL R09, OR THEY SHOULD PAY TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP, AS THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM WITH 100% CERTAINTY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE RELATED TO THE ENGINEERING OF THEIR VEHICLES.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RIVER OAKS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (4807 KIRBY DR, HOUSTON, TX 77098) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS NOT HOLDING PRESSURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY NOT START. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START IT WILL CLICK LIKE IT IS TRYING TO TURN OVER AND DOES THIS MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT WILL NOT START. THIS HAPPENS WITH USING PUSH BUTTON OR KEY TO START. THIS HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES IN THE PAST MONTH. . ONCE AFTER STARTING THE CAR WITH NO ISSUE AND PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY VEHICLE JUST DIED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. SINCE THIS HAS STARTED WHILE VEHICLE IS GOING OVER 40 MPH IT HAS A WHINING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT END. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT IN TO DEALER WHO STATES THAT THE BATTERY, STARTER AND ALTERNATOR APPEAR FINE

RECENTLY, CAR STARTED GIVING ME A HARD TIME TO START. WHEN IT FINALLY TURNS ON IT WOULD SPUTTER AND TURN OFF AFTER A FEW SECONDS. SOME LIGHTS FLICKER AT TIMES. BATTERY IS FINE. THE IGNITION IS SPARKING BUT DOESN'T TURN THE CAR ON. SOMETIMES CAR TURNS ON WITH NO PROBLEM AND I DRIVE IT FOR HOURS AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T START AT ALL OR STARTS AND TURNS OFF RIGHT AWAY OR AFTER 10 SECONDS.

I PURCHASED A USED 2013 JEEP 2 YEARS AGO AT NOVAK MOTORS IN FARMINGDALE, NY. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED TO GO TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP TO GET THE BRAKE RECALL TAKEN CARE OF. I TRIED CALLING THE CLOSEST JEEP DEALERSHIP TO MY WORK LOCATION AT 642 W MAIN STREET, RIVERHEAD, NY AND SPOKE WITH MARTHA? IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TODAY AND SHE SAID IT WOULD BE SEVERAL WEEKS BEFORE THE NEXT AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT. WHEN I ASKED HER IF I HAVE WARRANTY WORK, AN OPEN CAMPAIGN THAT NEEDED TO BE FIXED, WOULD I BE ABLE TO GET IN SOONER? THE WOMAN THEN REPLIED TO ME THAT THEY WERE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ANY NEW CUSTOMERS AT ALL!
PLEASE REFERENCE MY PREVIOUS COMPLAINT 11114071 AND 11114079 FOR EXACT DATES OF FAILURE FOR JULY 2018. THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FUEL PUMPS WERE BOTH REPLACED AND THE JEEP WAS RETURNED TO ME ON 8/4/18. I DROVE IT ON 8/5/18 ONCE AND THEN TWICE IN THE MORNING ON 8/6/18. IT SAT IN THE PARKING LOT AT MY WORK FROM 8:30 TO 12:30 PM ON 08/6/18. AT 12:30 PM, THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS OF STARTING FAILURE WERE HAPPENING. IT STARTED WITH TURNOVER THEN IMMEDIATELY DIED. THEN TURNED ON AFTER A 2ND ATTEMPT. THEN AT THE RESTAURANT I WENT TO AT APPROXIMATELY 12: 55 PM, THE JEEP COMPLETELY FAILED TO START. I HAVE VIDEO RECORDING OF THE FAILURE AND CAN PRODUCE THAT FOR REFERENCE. THE VEHICLE IS NOT STARTING AND STAYING ON CONSISTENTLY. THE START RESULTS IN IMMEDIATELY DYING AND THEN AFTER A COUPLE ATTEMPTS LIKE THAT, IT EVENTUALLY IT JUST CRANKS AND CRANKS UNTIL YOU SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. IT'S BEING TOWED A SECOND TIME TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. ADDITIONALLY, A DOME LIGHT IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T SHUT OFF SINCE IT WAS RETURNED TO ME ON 8/4/18. IT WAS NEVER A PROBLEM BEFORE 8/4/18. THIS IS A TIPM PROBLEM AND IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THE DEALER (STEVENS CREEK CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 4100 STEVENS CREEK BLVD, SAN JOSE, CA 95129, (408) 248-1800) PERFORMED THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT FELT THAT MANUFACTURER CAMPAIGN NUMBER: T-36 AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) REGARDING THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY FAILED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT SOLUTION. THE CONTACT HEARD A TICKING NOISE AND A FIRE OCCURRED WITHIN MONTHS OF THE DEALER'S RECALL REPAIRS. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING AREA, THERE WAS A STRONG BURNING ODOR AND SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT PARKED AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTING UNDER THE HOOD, THE CONTACT NOTICED FLAMES NEAR THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY. THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED ON ITS OWN. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE LOCKED ELECTRONICALLY, START UP, AND BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HUNTINGTON JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (1220 E JERICHO TURNPIKE, HUNTINGTON, NY 11743, (631) 673-0270), BUT THEY DID NOT INSPECT THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE IF THE FAILURES WERE RELATED TO ANY OF THE RECALL CAMPAIGNS. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,600.

FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN OFF, ONE SPEED ONLY, REAR WIPER NOT WORKING, BRIGHTS NOT WORKING, HAD TO REPLACE A FAULTY TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM).
THE ACTIVE HEADREST RESTRAINT INSIDE THE DRIVER'S SEAT DEPLOYED DUE TO PLASTIC CLIPS INSIDE BREAKING FOR NO REASON. DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, HIT DRIVER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD, STARTLING DRIVER AND NEARLY CAUSING ACCIDENT. THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN ISSUE, DOCUMENTED BY HUNDREDS OF OTHER OWNERS OF GRAND CHEROKEE, YET CHRYSLER/JEEP HAS DONE NOTHING TO REMEDY THIS OR RECALL THE FAULTY PRODUCT. HAVING THE DEPLOYED HEADREST MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, AND THERE IS NO WAY TO "RESET" IT, SINCE THE INTERNAL PLASTIC PIECES ARE BROKEN. THIS IS AN ON-GOING SAFETY ISSUE, AS PART OF THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY SYSTEM NOW DOES NOT FUNCTION. ALSO, I AM WORRIED THAT THE OTHER SEAT'S RESTRAINT WILL DEPLOY AT ANY TIME.

AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE DRIVER RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CENTRAL FLORIDA CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (8675 COMMODITY CIRCLE, ORLANDO, FLORIDA 32819, (407)-351-9940) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION WIN MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE WIN MODULE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED FOR MY 17 YEAR OLD SON APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS AGO. ON 7/20/18 THE VEHICLE DIED AS HE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. AFTER TESTING THE BATTERY, WE PAID TO REPLACE IT, BUT THE NEW BATTERY WAS ONLY GETTING ABOUT 11V WITH THE CAR RUNNING. THEREFORE, WE PAID FOR A NEW ALTERNATOR AND HAVE DISCOVERED THE ISSUE STILL CONTINUES. AFTER RESEARCHING, WE DISCOVERED THE RECALL FROM JULY 2017, MANY MONTHS PRIOR TO OUR PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CALLED LANDERS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE IN BENTON, AR TO SCHEDULE THE SERVICE FOR THE RECALL. THE FIRST APPOINTMENT AVAILABLE IS AUGUST 23RD. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. FIRST, WE ARE FORTUNATE THAT OUR SON WASN'T HURT WHEN THE VEHICLE DIED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. SECONDLY, WE HAVE SPENT APPROXIMATELY $650 FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS AND STILL CAN'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE. LASTLY, HAVING TO WAIT ALMOST A MONTH FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR THE RECALL ISSUE IS RIDICULOUS. IT IS UNREASONABLE TO THINK SOMEONE CAN DO WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR A MONTH, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE ISSUE IS NO FAULT OF OURS.
PER MY PREVIOUS COMPLAINT (NUMBER 11114071) I STATED MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN CHRYSLER RECALL 15V-115. THAT WAS INCORRECT. MY VIN WAS INCLUDED IN CHRYSLER RECALL 15V-115. AND THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED. MEANING: THE FUEL PUMP WAS ALREADY REPLACED. SO MY PREVIOUS COMPLAINT WITH FUEL PUMP FAILURE AND CRANKING IS A PERSISTENT AND UNACCEPTABLE ISSUE THAT IS DEDUCTIVELY REASONED TO BE DUE TO TIPM FAILURE. THIS FAILURE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE NHTSA.

DURING THE WEEK OF JULY 8TH IT CRANKED WITHOUT TURNOVER MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE AM, EVENTUALLY STARTING AND ALSO DURING THAT WEEK OF JULY 8TH, 2018, ONCE WHILE DRIVING IT DIED WHILE TRAVELING AT 30 MPH. ON JULY 16TH, 2018 VEHICLE CRANKED WITHOUT TURNOVER MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE AM, EVENTUALLY STARTING. ON JULY 17TH, 2018 IT STARTED IN THE AM BUT IN THE EVENING, CRANKED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO TURNOVER AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN. ON JULY 18TH, I WENT BACK TO WHERE THE CAR WAS LEFT THE EVENING BEFORE TO ATTEMPT STARTING AGAIN. IT WAS CRANKING WITHOUT STARTING MULTIPLE TIMES THAT DAY AND NEVER STARTED. HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE ON JULY 19TH. SERVICE DEPARTMENT REPLACED THE PRIMARY FUEL PUMP ON JULY 23RD, 2018 AFTER PARTS CAME IN. I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE ON THE EVENING OF JULY 23RD, 2018. APPROXIMATELY 6 HOURS AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE, IT CRANKED FOR AT LEAST 10 SECONDS, TWICE, THEN STARTED. AND THE FOLLOWING EVENING APPROXIMATELY 5 PM, JULY 24TH, 2018, IT STARTED AND RAN FOR ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS AND DIED. VEHICLE STARTED ON THE NEXT ATTEMPT AND I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT 5:30 PM ON JULY 24, 2018. THE DEALER CLAIMS IT CRANKED ON JULY 25, 2018 IN THE MORNING AND THEN CONTINUED TO START THROUGHOUT THE DAY. I AM GOING TO GO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO REQUEST THE OTHER FUEL PUMP GET TESTED. I AM VERY AWARE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE RECALLS ON THIS MODEL'S FUEL PUMP SYSTEM. RECALLS 14V-530 AND 15V-115 DO NOT INCLUDE MY VIN NUMBER AND SHOULD BECAUSE IT WAS MANUFACTURED DURING THE DATES OF . AND FURTHER, THE CENTER FOR AUTO SAFETY'S PETITION AGAINST THE NHTSA DATED ON JULY 15, 2015 (80 FR 45578) (DOCUMENT NUMBER 2015-18672) AGAINST CHRYSLER FOR THE TIPM FAILURE SHOULD BE RECONSIDERED!!
THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO DIE WITHIN SECONDS WHEN THE START ENGINE BUTTON IS INITIALLY PUSHED. FREQUENTLY HAVE TO TO PUSH ENGINE START BUTTON AGAIN W/O PRESSING BRAKE TO TURN POWER COMPLETELY OFF, THEN PUSH ENGINE START BUTTON AGAIN W/BRAKE TO OBTAIN FULL POWER OF VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO JEEP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND HAS OCCURRED FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. I HAVE COMPLETED ALL RECALLS ON FILE HOPING THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE ADDRESSED. HOWEVER, IT APPEARS TO BE WORSENING THIS SUMMER, WHERE ALMOST DAILY I HAVE TO ATTEMPT TO RESTART MY CAR TO GAIN FULL POWER.
