WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS TOWED TO GRIFFIN'S HUB CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (5700 S 27TH ST, MILWAUKEE, WI 53221, (414) 325-3333) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V115000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND THE WARRANTY FAILED TO COVER THE REPLACEMENT EXTERNAL RELAY, WHICH WAS FAILING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY VERIFIED THE RECALL PARTS WERE COVERED BY WARRANTY FOR TEN YEARS, BUT REFUSED TO COVER THE FUEL PUMP RELAY BECAUSE IT WAS EXTERNAL. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING FURTHER INFORMATION FROM THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE WARRANTY COVERAGE AND ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT, FOUR OF THE FIVE LUG NUTS DETACHED FROM THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED NOT TO MOVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL IT WAS INSPECTED BY AN INVESTIGATOR. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A CHRYSLER DEALER. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH NO OTHER ISSUES WHEN PASSENGER'S FRONT HEADREST RESTRAINT SYSTEM DEPLOYED ON PASSENGERS HEAD. CAR HAS ONLY 24000 MILES ON IT, ALWAYS GARAGED, NEVER IN A COLLISION. RESTRAINT SYSTEM DEPLOYED FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON ON THE PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. JEEP TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT ABOUT 35 MPH ON A CITY STREET, JUST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, GOOD ROADWAY CONDITION DURING SUNNY WEATHER. TIME/DATE OF INCIDENT WAS 6-10-18 AT 930 AM.*DT*JB
WHEN PUTTING IN DRIVE SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT GO PROPERLY. SOUNDS FUNNY LIKE DRAGGING OR IF IN NEUTRAL.MUST STOP AND RESHFIT OUT AND BACK INTO GEAR. THIS IS VERY SCARY . NEED ADVICE. FEELS LIKE LOSS OF POWER WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. WHAT DO I DO? HAPPENED A COUPLE TIMES A IN JUNE 2018.
NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 15V-879 RECALL DATE: JANUARY 12, 2016 MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: R71 DROPPED MY VEHICLE OFF TO THE MANUFACTURE DEALER IN COLUMBIA, SC A FEW MONTHS AGO TO DO THE THREE RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THEY INFORMED ME THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO DO THE LAST RECALL FOR THE SUN VISOR. IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS SINCE THEY DID THE RECALLS AND ORDER PARTS FROM THE SUPPLIER FOR THE LAST RECALL AND STILL NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE FOR THAT RECALL. THE DEALER SAID THE PARTS ARE ON BACK-ORDER FROM THE SUPPLIER AND NO UPDATE FOR RESTOCK FROM SUPPLIER. THE RECALL STATES THAT THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE FROM THE RECALL AND THIS WORRIES MYSELF AND MY WIFE. I JUST FEEL THAT IT IS A LITTLE RIDICULOUS THAT IT IS TAKING THIS LONG FOR PARTS.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, SITTING IN PARKING LOT AFTER DRIVING ON HIGHWAY FOR 4 HOURS. AIR BAG SUSPENSION EXPLODED, CAUSING VERY LOUD NOISE AND VEHICLE SUSPENSION TO DROP TO ALMOST THE TIRE. VEHICLE INOPERABLE AFTER INCIDENT. VERY HAZARDOUS TO BE NEAR WHEN AIR BAG SUSPENSION POPPED/EXPLODED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY FOB WAS UPDATED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT SHINE DOWN THE ROAD FAR ENOUGH TO SEE AT A SAFE DISTANCE AND USING THE BRIGHT LIGHTS IS NOT ALWAYS PRACTICAL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH OTHER JEEP OWNERS WHO EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE.
DRIVE SHAFT FAILURE AT 80,000 MI. MIDDLE SUPPORT BEARING FAILED. THIS IS A 2013 HOW MANY HAVE ALL READY FAILED AND THEY ARE SITTING ON THIS INFO BECAUSE THE PART ALONE IS $ 875.00 + LABOR. I HAVE HAD CARS WITH OVER 150,000 AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM.
DRIVER SIDE ACTIVE RESTRAINT HEADREST AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. NO ACCIDENT OR IMPACT TOOK PLACE TO CAUSE THE DEPLOYMENT.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V879000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, INTERIOR LIGHTING), 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), AND 17V572000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE ALTERNATOR INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MALL OF GEORGIA CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP (4345 BUFORD DR, BUFORD, GA 30518, 770-945-0839) WHERE THE DEALER PROVIDED OPTIONS TO REPAIR THE FAILURE WITH AN AFTERMARKET PART OR WAIT FOR TWO WEEKS FOR FULL RECALL REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 155,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HEMI ENGINE SUFFERED FROM A FAULTY TAPPET ROLLER ON THE MDS LIFTER. PART FAILED AT 89000 MILES CAUSING ENGINE ISSUE AND THE NEED FOR REPLACEMENT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE GOING BACK TO 2011. JEEP DID NOTHING TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM.
INTERMITTENTLY, VEHICLE WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO START USING THE PUSH-TO-START BUTTON. SOMETIMES THE ENGINE WILL STALL SECONDS AFTER THE LONG START HAPPENS, AFTER ENOUGH TIME TO GO INTO DRIVE/REVERSE FROM BEING STATIONARY. THIS HAS BEEN DANGEROUS AS THE VEHICLE IS MOVING (PULLING INTO TRAFFIC FROM PARKING SPOT, CITY STREET) WHEN THE ENGINE STALLS. AT THAT TIME THE ONLY WAY TO RESTART IS TO RE-CYCLE THE PUSH-TO-START BUTTON THROUGH THE OFF/ACCESSORY/ON. TYPICALLY AFTER THE STALL THE VEHICLE WILL START RIGHT UP. VEHICLE HAS HAD THE TIPM RECALL (#15V-115) PERFORMED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE LEAVING THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DROVE APPROXIMATELY HALF A MILE FROM HER RESIDENCE BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND CALLED JOHN ELWAY'S CLAREMONT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM AT (909) 667-2586 (620 AUTO CENTER DR., CLAREMONT, CA 91711). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT AN APPOINTMENT COULD NOT BE SCHEDULED FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER MONTH FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V115000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4X4. TRANSMITION COOLER LEAKS TRANSMITION FLUID . THAT CAN CAUSE A FIRE FROM THE FLUID BEING SPRAYED OVER THE EXAUST. AND THE LOSS OF TRANSMITION FLUID CAN CAUSE THE VEICHAL TO SUDDENLY LOOSE POWER AND CAUSE A ACCEDENT. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT JEEP HAS HAD FOR MANY YEARS AND HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX. OR IMPROVE THE PROBLEM IN THE VIECHEL.

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR IN THE CITY, I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN ENGINE SHUTDOWN, AND ENTIRELY LOST CONTROL OVER THE CAR (STEERING, BREAKS ETC.) THE CAR WAS TOWED TO CHRYSLER'S CERTIFIED GARAGE, WHERE THE MALFUNCTION WAS IDENTIFIED AS A FAILURE OF THE FUEL PUMP RELAY (THE SAME RELAY WHICH WAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED, AS PART OF RECALL R09). THE GARAGE ALSO RE-CONFIRMED THAT THIS RELAY HAS BEEN REPLACED UNDER THE RECALL, IN 2015. THE MEANING OF THIS FAILURE DEMONSTRATES THAT PRACTICALLY, REPLACING THE UNIT UNDER RECALL R09 HAS NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM AND THE RISK IS STILL THERE! I HAVE REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO FCA IN EUROPE, AND WAS RESPONDED THAT THIS FAILURE "COULD HAPPEN IN 5 YEARS OLD CAR" AND THEREFORE, THERE IS NO SAFETY ISSUE THAT REQUIRES THEM TO WARN OTHER OWNERS. HOWEVER, I HAVE FOUND ON-LINE LOTS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, MOST OF THEM IN THE US, INDICATING THAT THE FAILURE OF THE REPLACED FUEL RELAY IS COMMON, AND THAT FCA DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. AFTER SHUTTING OFF AND EXITING THE VEHICLE I NOTICED THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT HEAD REST LOOKED CROOKED. I GOT IN THE BACK SEAT TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AND THE HEAD REST SUDDENLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT ME TOUCHING IT. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND PARKED.
AFTER RECENTLY PURCHASING MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 2013, I NOTICED ISSUES I DIDN'T HAVE IN REGARDS TO THE POWER TRAIN AND HOW IT ACTED COMPARED TO MY PREVIOUS JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 2002. I FREQUENTLY HAVE INSTANCES AT SLOW, MEDIUM AND INTERSTATE SPEEDS WHERE THE RPMS JUMP FROM THE STEADY 2,000 UP TO LIKE 3,000 BRIEFLY, BEFORE QUICKLY DROPPING BACK DOWN. THIS RESULTS IN AND UNEXPECTED AND SUNDOWN JOLT/JERK. EVEN MORE SO, I'VE BEEN SEEING MORE SERIOUS AND RELATED ISSUES WHERE IT RUNS AT 3,500/4,000 RPMS WHILE NOT ACCELERATING. SEEMS SLOW AND SLUGGISH. ONLY A STOP AND RESTARTING OF THE VEHICLE WILL FIX THIS ISSUE. FINALLY, THIS LEADS TO THE MAJOR ISSUE, STILL RELATED TO THE SAME TREND OF PROBLEMS. I WILL HAVE TIMES WHEN I'M ACCELERATING OR JUST CRUISING AND I LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE RPMS WILL SPIKE DRASTICALLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY FROM AROUND 2,000 AVERAGE TO 6K-7K RPMS. I LOSE ALL ACCELERATION CONTROL WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE FEW TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL TURN ON. NATURALLY LETTING OFF THE ACCELERATOR BRINGS IT BACK DOWN SLOWLY, BUT IN THESE INSTANCES I'M ON THE ROAD AND MOVING WITH TRAFFIC. I LOSE ALL ACCELERATOR CONTROL AND CANNOT ACCELERATE WITH ANY EFFECT. THE ENGINE REVS SHARPLY AND LOUDLY WITH NO ACCELERATING MOVEMENT OR RESPONSE. ONLY OPTION IS TO BREAK.. THANKSFULLY THOSE WORK.. AND COME TO A STOP WHERE SHUTTING THE CAR ON AND OFF SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY TEMPORARY FIX. UPON TURNING IT BACK ON, THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL REMAIN AND TYPICALLY DOES FOR A DAY OR SO AND THEN TURNS OFF. VERY DANGEROUS AND SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING, WHILE UNPREDICTABLE AND INFREQUENT, BUT NOT COMPLETELY AS THIS HAPPENS EVERY WEEK AND A HALF OR SO,.. IT SOUNDS LIKE A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT THAT ISN'T BEING ADDRESSS THROUGH RECALLS, REPAIRS OR EVEN WHEN COMPLAINTS ARE MADE. THESE ISSUES NEED TO BE ADDRESSED AS THEY POSE A THREAT TO NOT ONLY MY SAFETY, BUT OTHERS AS WELL.

THE DEALER DID NOT PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT HAD NO VEHICLE TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V572000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER TO BE SERVICED FOR THE RECALLS AND THE FAILURE. I HAVE CALLED JEEP DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES TO GET THESE TWO SAFETY RECALLS FIXED. EACH TIME THEY SAY ONE OF THE RECALL PARTS IS NOT AVAILABLE AND WAIT UNTIL WE CAN DO BOTH AT SAME TIME
2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH A 3.6 LITRE PENTASTAR V6 ENGINE AND 56,500 MILES DID NOT PRODUCE HEAT FROM THE VENTS AND OVERHEATED.THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SEAVIEW JEEP IN OCEAN NEW JERSEY.THE FIRST TWO TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT IT WAS RETURNED TO ME AND THE SERVICE REP STATED THAT THE OVERHEATING ISSUE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE MYSELF AND THE ENGINE OVERHEATING A THIRD TIME I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER IF THE ENGINE COULD BE HAVING AN ISSUE WITH EXHAUST GASES ENTERING THE COOLING SYSTEM AND CAUSING THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT AND IF THIS WAS CHECKED IN THE PREVIOUS TROUBLESHOOTING OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANAGER REPLIED THAT A BLOCK TEST WAS NOT DONE AND TO RETURN THE VEHICLE SO THE TEST COULD BE PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT AT THE DEALERSHIP AFTER THE SECOND TIME IT WAS TOWED THERE FROM 12/22/17 - 1/16/18 AND RETURNED TO ME AFTER THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY FLUSHED AND FILLED THE COOLING SYSTEM AND RAN THE VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL DAYS WITHOUT IT OVERHEATING OR LOSING HEAT. THE MANAGER DID ADMIT THAT THERE WAS A WATER SWOOSHING SOUND COMING FROM BEHIND THE DASH THAT WAS UNUSUAL AND CLAIMED THERE WAS AIR POCKETS THAT THEY REMOVED WHEN THEY BLED THE AIR FROM THE SYSTEM. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ME ON 1/16/18 IT WAS DRIVEN ON 1/17/18 BY MY WIFE AND THE NO HEAT/OVERHEATING ISSUE RETURNED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME AND THE BLOCK TEST WAS PERFORMED.THE SERVICE MANAGER REPORTED TO ME THAT THE ENGINE HAD A CRACKED LEFT CYLINDER HEAD AND QUOTED ME A $2600 REPAIR COST. ALSO OCCASIONAL IGNITION SWITCH ISSUES THAT OCCUR WHEN PRESSING THE START BUTTON. STARTER KEEPS TURNING THE ENGINE OVER HOWEVER THE VEHICLE NEVER COMPLETES THE CRANKNG CYCLE. TOWED CAR TO MECHANIC; BATTERY WAS DEAD, ALTERNATER WAS TOAST, AND ON BOARD COMPUTER HAD TO BE REPLACED. TOTAL COST TO REPLACE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, COMPUTER AND COMPUTER REPROGRAMMING WAS $1,700. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY USING THE CRUISE CONTROL, THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE GAS PEDAL WAS PINNED TO THE FLOORBOARD. I ATTEMPTED TO DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL BY PRESSING DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT DID NOT DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL LEAVING THE CAR STILL ACCELERATING IN TRAFFIC UP TO AND BEYOND 90 MPH. I ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL WITH THE SWITCH ON THE STEERING WHEEL BUT IT DID NOT DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. I DID SEE A WARNING LIGHT APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD BUT WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH IT. I LATER LOOKED IT UP IN MY OWNERS MANUAL AND IT WAS THE "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL" ETC) LIGHT. REALIZING THERE WAS NO WAY TO DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL, MY ONLY OPTION WAS TO TRY TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN BY PRESSING AS HARD AS POSSIBLE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE THE ENGINE WAS ATTEMPTING TO CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE. THIS WAS MODERATELY SUCCESSFUL AND ALLOWED ME TO REDUCE THE SPEED TO A MANAGEABLE SPEED TO LANE CHANGE TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. ONCE THERE I USED BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHERE I WAS ABLE TO ALMOST STOP THE CAR WHILE THE ENGINE RACED. IT WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF BECAUSE IT WAS STILL IN GEAR SO I THREW THE CAR INTO PARK AND PUSHED THE OFF BUTTON. THE CAR SHUT OFF AND I WAS SAFELY STOPPED ALONGSIDE THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE SINCE BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR BUT HAVE NOT ATTEMPTED TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL. MONDAY 5, JUNE 2107 COMING OFF HIGHWAY 695 MY JEEP STARTED SHUTTING DOWN, I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD MY JEEP SHUT EVERYTHING OFF. I HAD MY JEEP TOWED TO THE LOCAL JEEP SERVICE SHOP. NEXT MORNING TATE JEEP TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD ABOUT TWO WEEKS, AND ABOUT $2,500 TO REPAIR MY JEEP. I CALLED A MECHANIC THAT I KNOW, I TOLD HIM WHAT TATE TOLD ME HE HAD MY JEEP TOWED TO HIM. HE USED THE DIAGNOSTICS TOOL TO DIAGNOSE MY JEEP THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE ALTERNATOR, BATTERY, STARTER, ECM IT WOULD TAKE HIM ABOUT A WEEK TO COMPETE ALL THE NEEDED WORK AND ABOUT $1,100 ESTIMATE. I PAID $1,800 AND HAD TO USE 16 HOURS OF VACATION TIME FROM MY JOB. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2017. WHILE TALKING WITH MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE BATTERY KEEPS DRAINING. LATER I STARTED SEARCHING FOR YOU-TUBE CLIPS, AND THEN AUTO RECALLS POPPED-UP. OMG I ENTERED MY VIN NUMBER AND MY JEEP HAS 5 RECALLS! REALLY FIVE. AS INSTRUCTED I CALL THE LOCAL JEEP RETAILER AND EXPLAIN ALL OF MY ISSUES THAT MY JEEP HAS BEEN HAVING AND THE NHTSA RECALLS. THE SERVICE MANAGER RECOMMENDS FOR ME TO HAVE MY JEEP TOWED TO THEM BUT THEY COULDN'T LOOK AT IT UNTIL NEXT MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2017. SO ON THAT NOTE I ASKED IF THEY OFFER CAR RENTAL? WHEN YOU PUSH THE IGNITION BUTTON, THE ENGINE CRANKS BUT IT WON'T START. IT TAKES A FEW ATTEMPTS BEFORE THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY STARTS. AFTER IT STARTS YOU START TO DRIVE IT AND THE IT STALLS AS YOU ARE DRIVING IT. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD (MORNINGS OR AFTER IT HASN'T BEEN USED FOR SEVERAL HOURS). AFTER RESEARCHING IT THERE IS A FUEL PUMP RELAY RECALL ON SAME MODEL AND YEAR AS MINE. THE RECALL IS FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY.. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING THE HEHE VEHICLE AS IT STALLS AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT.
THE ALTERNATOR FAILED TO CHARGE AND EVENTUALLY SMOKED AND ALMOST CAUGHT ON FIRE. THIS WAS DURING DRIVING. NO WARNING PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. HAD TO REPLACE ALTERNATOR VIA PERSONAL MECHANIC.
THE TIPM FAILED ON THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO A SUDDEN STOP. ALL FUNCTIONS IN THE CAR WERE HALTED. THIS RESULTED IN STRANDING MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. AFTER BEING TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WOULD COST ME $1349.36 TO REPLACE THE FAULTY TIPM. NUMEROUS RESEARCH INTO THIS PROBLEM REVEALS MANY SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE TIPM FROM JEEP WHICH COULD LIKELY TO RESULT IN SERIOUS SAFETY RELATED PROBLEMS NOT TO MENTION VERY COSTLY REPAIRS. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE ADDRESSED FURTHER.
BRAKE FAILURE DUE TO A FAULTY RECALL FIX. ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WAS HARD AND HURT MY FOOT TRYING TO STOP THE JEEP. THE BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL WAS ADDRESSED IN 2014 BUT THE SHIELD THAT WAS INSTALLED FAILED WHICH LED TO THE FAILURE OF THE BOOSTER.
FUEL PUMP RELAY RECALL. THE FUEL PUMP RELAY RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON THIS VEHICLE BY DEALERSHIP. RECENTLY, THE VEHICLE BEGIN HAVING THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS IN THE RECALL. VEHICLE WOULD STOP RUNNING AFTER BEING CRANKED, WOULD FAIL TO CRANK, AND WOULD HAVE EXTENDED CRANKING TIME. I OBSERVED NO FUEL PUMP SOUNDS DURING NO RUN/ NO CRANK CONDITIONS. ASE CERTIFIED SHOP DIAGNOSED FAULT; REPAIR WAS REPLACEMENT OF FUEL PUMP RELAY INSTALLED DURING RECALL. VEHICLE HAS HAD ZERO FAILURE SINCE THIS REPAIR. THIS FAILURE IS AS DANGEROUS AS ORIGINAL RECALL FAILURE, AND OCCURRED WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES OF RECALL. SHOP MANAGER STATED THIS WAS SECOND SUCH FAILURE HIS SHOP HAS FIXED ON ALREADY "FIXED BY RECALL" VEHICLES.
