The failure mileage was unknown.
2015 jeep grand Cherokee, the passenger side headrest deployed while driving, I understand that others have had this problem and there’s a recall for either passenger side or driver side but my jeep does not come up on the recalls. Please advise I would hate to have the driver side headrest deployed while I’m driving. Thank you
The oil cooler fails resulting in the entire cooling system being filled with the oil from the engine and possibly contaminating the engine oil with coolant. Even after the oil cooler is replaced the entire cooling system must be thoroughly flushed and have multiple parts replaced. It is a safety hazard because there is no warning, the oil cooler fails and all you engine oil is gone. Which will lead to catastrophic engine failure and possibly fire from the heat produced from the friction.
The dashboard is bubbling up and peeling which causes a humming noise when driving above 60 miles per hour. I contacted the dealership and since my warranty has ended I was quoted a cost of $1800. I did see where there was a recall for this issue for previous models.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while the vehicle was in park (P), she started the vehicle and the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact attempted to turn the vehicle off, and the vehicle would not shift into neutral (N). The contact stated that multiple attempts were needed to turn the vehicle off and restart the vehicle. The vehicle then started operating as designed. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
The dashboard is got some wrinkles which makes me think the dashboard is weak now, so when the airbag comer out the dashboard may come out
Driver headrest deployed with no reason while driving 45mph in a busy avenue during rush hour (5pm). It hit driver in the back of the head causing confusion and dizziness. Found a small plastic piece broken inside mechanism. Headrest still installed, haven't taken it to dealer for repair because online comments says repair would be around $900 at my own expense and no way I'm paying for a malfunction.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. An undisclosed dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The passenger seat headrest violently exploded open while I was driving. If this were to have happened while someone was in the car, or on my driver's side headrest, someone could have easily been injured. It sounded as if an airbag opened in the car. I have not gotten it inspected yet but have read multiple forums of this happening on other 2014-2015 jeep Grand Cherokee and am wondering how this is not a recall. No warning signs given.
While the vehicle was in operation traveling straight ahead on roadway the vehicles drivers headrest “popped” causing operators head to jerk forward while vehicle was in motion. Driver was able to maintain control of vehicle but was startled by the sudden explosion and impact on head. This could have easily caused operator to loose control and be involved in a motor vehicle accident. There were no warning messages when this occurred and nothing had been done to the headrest prior to it exploding open. After inspecting the headrest it appears a plastic part inside the headrest snapped.
I can hear My Jeep clicking into every gear and making a ticking noise this is because of the faulty shifter in these jeeps. Also the computer isn’t working correctly software is to old to update.
The contact's son owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while her son was driving 60-65 MPH, the vehicle started shuddering. The ABS, traction control, and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle decelerated to 30 MPH and stalled while driving on an uphill ramp. The vehicle failed to restart, causing another vehicle to strike the driver's side of the vehicle. There were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was pushed downhill with the assistance of a police patrol. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine was blown and needed to be replaced. Additionally, the dealer diagnosed that the thermostat, radiator, starter, and motor mounts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.
Oil pump assembly. The problem was confirmed by a independent service center. As I was driving down the highway at 40/45 mph, I heard a knocking sound under the hood. I pulled into a shoping center got out to go into a store came back out turned on the jeep and the engine light came on. Drive home called my mechanic. He said don't drive it have it towed in, it might be the oil pump or power train modular. It was the oil pump. My mechanic said I was the forth person to bring my jeep in with this problem within the last 2 weeks
While driving ALL headlights suddenly went out. This has happened a few times now while waiting for our service appointment. It has occurred in both high and low beam configurations. The lights have failed when the dash switch is in the Auto OR in the On positions. The vehicle is definitely available for inspection, however it is currently being serviced for this defect. Failure of all forward-facing lights could be fatal at speed. We were in our driveway and on small town streets when it has occurred, but next time? We showed the service representative a video of the failure recorded 09/21/2022 in our driveway, high beams on and switch in Auto position when all lights failed. The video is available to nhtsa if requested. Upload formats, below, don't include the MOV (iPhone video) format. The lights failed without visible warnings, messages, or symptoms. I did not check for OBDII codes.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, an abnormal noise was heard coming from the rear of the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the driveshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE SAFETY RECALL HAD NO REMEDY AND WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE CONSUMER PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE, 2022 COMPASS. THE CONSUMER TOOK A LOSS DUE TO THE RECALL OF THE FUEL PUMP ON THE JEEP AND REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated upon raising the front driver's side headrest, it deployed inadvertently. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front driver's side headrest needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after he had pulled off the road and was rested in a parking lot, the driver-side headrest deployed without warning. The contact called the dealer and made an appointment to have the vehicle serviced. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
The Active Headrest on this 2015 Jeep deployed at random. There was no accident or other event to cause this deployment. The deployment launched the headrest forward making the headrest strike the drivers head. Upon visual observation of the headrest, there appears to be a failure of the structural material securing the retainer pin. Dangerous! Forums abuzz with this known issue. Needs recalled IMO.
2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit passenger-side headrest unexpectedly deployed yesterday, August 11, 2022, without warning and with explosive force while driving without any vehicle accident occurring or any impact to the body of the car. No human injury occurred, though the intense force of the explosion caused my cell phone to jump out of the cup holder as the force translated through the seat and center console and nearly caused loss of driving control with pedestrians in close proximity to the car. It could have easily caused injury or death if it had been the driver's side, especially at greater speed. Have not yet been able to take the car to a dealer so quickly afterward. I find no recalls under my VIN, though I found an electronic copy of Mopar Warranty Bulletin No. D-20-10, dated August 26, 2020, stating an immediate 10 year/unlimited mileage warranty extension (X88) Active Head Restraint for 2014-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The passenger side active headrest restraint spontaneously engaged and will not reset. I was a passenger when it happened and it struck me in the back of the head. I’ve noticed many others with my year, make and model of vehicle have had similar issues, but Jeep is not wanting to accept there is a manufacturing default. Luckily it wasn’t my drivers side headrest. But it could be next time and potentially while I’m driving. There were no warnings prior and it’s extremely rare that anyone rides in that seat.
There are two issues. One is that the air bag light is on and never goes away and could mean faulty air bags, two the car is making a clicking noise and jerking when accelerating and the 4 wheel drive service light has come on. It could be the transfer case or differential. The car only has 60,000 miles and isn't driven everyday. It should not be having these safety issues.
My 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland EcoDiesel (VIN# [XXX] ) had a catastrophic engine failure at 96k miles (400 miles from home) on a family trip Friday [XXX] leaving us stranded far from home for the second time in the last year (first time was for a turbo coolant line that failed requiring me to leave my car in California for 3+ weeks while parts were on back order). I still have an active AEM Warranty from the emissions recalls a few years back that's good until 120k miles, however previous inquiries have stated that this warranty doesn't cover the engine failure and was given a repair estimate in excess of $30k+. Premature engine failures have been a very common problem of this series of vehicle, it was involved in the AEM class-action lawsuit, and had numerous recalls that are related to the engine and engine components. Myself and the Lithia Jeep Dealership staff in Grants Pass, OR were all shocked when the warranty claim was denied for this replacement given the number of EcoDiesel failures they had seen. With the systemic premature failures of these engines, the AEM class-action lawsuit updates, extent of recalls that are related to the engine and engine components, I have been disappointed in how Chrysler/Jeep have handled this situation, leaving the burden of their design flaws on their customers. The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH and making a right turn, the vehicle inadvertently turned in the opposite direction and the contact lost control of the steering wheel. The traction control warning light was illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact continued to turn the steering wheel until she regained control of the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the roadway. The contact then pulled into a parking lot and parked the vehicle. The contact was able to drive to her residence. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V332000 (Electrical System, Vehicle Speed Control) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair; however, the dealer declined to honor the recall repair and informed the contact she had to pay for the repair. The dealer diagnosed that the DTCM (Drive Train Control Module) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and inquired about reimbursement; however, the manufacturer denied her claim after several attempts. The failure mileage was approximately 177,060.

The failure mileage was approximately 89,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
While backing down my driveway, the headrest popped forward suddenly. There were no indicator lights or warnings before it happened. I consulted a mechanic regarding a repair/replacement. A new headrest ($1000) is required because the plastic pieces inside are broken. I am concerned about the passenger side doing the same thing while I am driving and especially if I have a passenger.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shut off with the "Service Transmission - Restart in Park with Vehicle at Zero Speed" message displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that vehicle restarted after several attempts and resumed normal operation. The vehicle had been taken to several independent mechanics and the dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated nor was the cause of the failure determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Driver's side headrest deployment without a collision while driving on a highway going 65 miles per hour. Could have caused an accident at high speeds. Instant head, dazed, and neck pain. No warning lights or noises.
Car keeps saying service shifter. Safety at risk car cuts off and on when I’m driving now the car won’t start completely. A lot off Jeep Grand Cherokee are having this problem. Components not inspected. Service shifter light just came on yesterday. Car won’t start today
The plastic latch mechanism holding the eyeglass case (built into the overhead center console) shut broke. This prevents the holder from staying shut. The unlatched case blocks the rear view mirror thus preventing the operator from seeing rearward. Is this considered a visibility hazard? The contact turned the vehicle off and restarted while in neutral(N) and the vehicle would not restart. The contact moved the gear shifter to drive(D) and was able to restart the vehicle and the vehicle operated as intended. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
Driver side seat belt does not retract and is not secure. When I called the dealership The service person said there is no open recalls it’s my responsibility to have it fixed. There are several 2015 jeep grand Cherokee‘s on here with the same problem. Jeep need to take responsibility and fix it! Click it or ticket is the catchphrase here in Florida. Jeep needs to fix it so I can click it!
The passenger headrest popped open unexpectedly when the car was parked in my driveway.
The vehicle has an oil leak problem which may be caused by the defect of cylinder head gasket, and some of other engine gaskets. The oil seal is problematic for this model.

Drivers side Active head restraint, spontaneously deployed. Headrest hit driver in the head while driving. Which could have caused an accident had driver had their head against headrest or been traveling at a faster speed. No warning lights or tones before deployment. Vehicle has not been inspected by dealership, manufacturer or police as Vehicle was not in an accident. They will not be notified due to no recall or warranty. Part will be replaced by onwer. After further inspection plastic clips inside the headrest failed.
Jeep has no fix for this recall it’s been 15 months.
The instrument cluster stopped working and is completely blacked out. There was no warnings that it was going to happen. It just stopped working and no I do not need a new fuse. It's just a bad cluster

22V-406 Recall issued June 9 2022. We’ve tried to have fixed but parts unavailable. At what point is this untimely? It has been over a year which seems untimely to me. The safety issue indicates high pressure fuel pump ("HPFP") that could fail prematurely. A HPFP failure may introduce internally failed component debris into the fuel system potentially causing fuel starvation. Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning.

One of the recalls for this vehicle, 22V-406 has been open for 17 months with no fix available from the manufacturer. This is an unacceptable time to wait for a fix to a problem that could result in a vehicle crash. The NHTSA needs to hold the manufacturer accountable for this unacceptable risk to public safety.

I received a recall notice from Chrysler (Recall #Z46) on June 9, 2022. The NHTSA recall number is #22V-406. I also recently received another recall from Chrysler (Recall #66A). The NHTSA recall number for this recall is #23V-411. Both recalls indicate that failure of the defective part that has been recalled can result in the unexpected loss of power and a resulting crash without warning. Any resulting crash without warning presents a huge safety concern as it quite possibly could result in injury or death. To date I'm told the part for recall # Z46 is not available and the dealer will not repair Recall #66A until Recall #Z46 has been remedied. In light of the potential for injury or death resulting from the failure of the necessary repairs request that the NHTSA become proactive in forcing the manufacturer to remedy the problem(s) noted above ASAP.
