DRIVER SIDE BREAK LIGHT DOES NOT WORK ONLY WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE ON. I HAVE REPLACED THE LIGHT, FUSE, THE WHOLE HOUSING UNIT AND IT WILL WORK FOR ONE DAY THAN STOP AGAIN. ALSO AIRBAG LIGHT IS NOW ON ALL THE TIME AFTER GETTING THE M35 RECALL DONE ON MY CAR. DEALER SHIP SEEMS TO THINK IT IA NOTHING THAT THEY DID WRONG AND NOW I GOTTA PAY AT LEAST $135 TO GET A DIAGNOSTICS DONE ON MY CAR TO SEE WHAT IS WRONG. ALSO SEATBELT LIGHT NEVER STAYS ON ANY MORE EVEN IF MY SEATBELT IA NOT ON UT JUST COMES ON WHEN I TURN CAR ON THEN GOES OFF WHEN AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON.
WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE, BUT THEY DID NOT GIVE US A WARRANTY OR ANY OTHER DISCOUNT. NOW WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR SIX MONTHS AND IT NEEDS A NEW BOTTOM END OF THE ENGINE PUT IN WHICH COSTS MORE THAN THE VEHICLE IS WORTH BUT WE DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE, WE HAVE TO PUT ONE IN. I HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT JEEP'S IN THE PAST AND WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THEIR PERFORMANCE, BUT NOW I RE-THINKING MY LOYALTY. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED A JEEP LIBERTY BUT NOW I WISH I HAD NEVER BOUGH IT. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT AFTER TURNING THE IGNITION KEY TO THE ON POSITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V527000 (AIR BAGS), 13V252000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE , STRUCTURE), AND 15V046000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING ON THE VEHICLE FLICKERED AND BECAME INOPERABLE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND WE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO HAVE THE RECALL FIXED (ORC MODULE) THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A JUMPER WIRE AS PART OF THE RECALL BUT SAID THE ORC MODULE IS BAD. I CONTACTED JEEP CORPORATION ABOUT GETTING THE MODULE REPLACED BUT THEY SAID IT HAD NOT BEEN RECALLED, JUST THE FILTER FOR IT. AFTER CHECKING ONLINE I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN TOLD THE SAME THING AND IT SEEMS TO ME THE SO CALLED "FIX" IS NOT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $460 TO REPLACE THE MODULE WHICH IN MY OPINION IS WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I AM SENDING THIS AS A WAY OF DOCUMENTING WHAT HAS BEEN DONE AND NOT DONE IF THE AIR BAGS MALFUNCTION AS I HAVE READ IN MY RESEARCH. *JS

"CHRYSLER INTENDS TO INSPECT YOUR VEHICLE AND INSTALL AN ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER (OEM) TRAILER HITCH WHERE APPROPRIATE, FREE OF CHARGE (PARTS AND LABOR) TO BETTER MANAGE CRASH FORCES IN LOW-SPEED IMPACTS. WANTED TO HAVE THIS RECALL NOTICE, AS WELL AS OTHERS ADDRESSED BUT, DEALER CLAIMS THAT PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE IN ORDER TO SATISFY THE RECALL NOTICE. A TRAILER HITCH IS UNAVAILABLE 7 MONTHS AFTER A RECALL NOTICE???!!!!. I BET IF I BROUGHT IT IN TO HAVE A TRAILER HITCH INSTALLED, THEY'D TAKE IT RIGHT IN AND CHARGE ME FOR IT. WHEN TURNING RIGHT ON THE CORNER FROM PHEBE LN IN SLC, UT. INTO 1700 E. GOING AT 10 MPH I HEARD A LOUD NOISE. I WAS ABLE TO STIR THE CAR NEXT TO THE SIDEWALK. I EXIT THE VEHICLE TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED AND I SAW THAT THE WHEEL WAS SEPARATED FROM THE CAR. I CALLED THE TOWING TRUCK TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE LOWER FRONT BALL JOINT AND THE AXLE GOT SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. I WAS REALLY LUCKY BECAUSE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 9 YEAR OLD GIRL AND WE HAD JUST ARRIVED FROM PARK CITY, UT. INTO SLC. AND IF THE BALL JOIN SEPARATION OCCURRED WHEN I WAS GOING DOWN AND 65 MPH THE SCENARIO COULD BE MUCH MORE DIFFERENT. *JS
THE BRAKE LINE FROM THE METAL TUBING CONNECTED TO THE DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY DISCONNECTED FROM THE RUBBER TUBING PORTION OF THE BRAKE LINE SUDDENLY DURING BRAKING. THIS RESULTED IN THE 2002 JEEP LIBERTY RUNNING INTO OUR GARAGE DOOR. MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN THAT NORMALLY THESE BRAKE LINES ARE A PRESS-FIT ASSEMBLY SO THAT THEY MAY LEAK, BUT NOT FAIL CATASTROPHICALLY LIKE THIS. THIS APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. FORTUNATELY, THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND NOT AT AN INTERSECTION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS WAS A POOR DESIGN AND IS UNSAFE! *TR

GOT CLEAR IMPRESSION THAT CHRYSLER HAS NO INTENTION OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE MANDATED RECALL. CALLED NHTSA 1-888-327-4236 AND LEFT MESSAGE TO CONTACT WITH NO RESPONSE. OWNER FRUSTRATED AND CONFUSED OVER SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE AND FUTURE IN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE OR SELLING. *TR

DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO PASS STATE INSPECTION. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TAKATA RECALL: I WAS TOLD BY COVERT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 8107 RESEARCH BLVD. IN AUSTIN TX 78758 THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED ONCE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. THAT WAS 2014. COVERT KEPT THE NOTICES THAT WERE MAILED TO MY HOME. THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 5 NOTICES. THIS HAS NOW BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE MY "AIR BAG" WARNING LIGHT FIRST CAMES ON. WARNING COMES ON ALMOST DAILY. WHO WILL BE RESPONSIBLE SHOULD SOMETHING HAPPEN TO ME, OR ANOTHER VEHICLE SHOULD THERE BE AN ACCIDENT? I HAVE SHARE PICTURES OF MY DASHBOARD WITH OTHERS. AND CAN PROVIDE SAME PICTURES TO YOU IF YOU CAN ASSIST.
I HAVE BEEN GETTING THESE RECALL FOR TWO YEARS AND EVERY TIME I GO TO THE DODGE DEALER (HELMS MOTORS IN LEXINGTON TENNESSEE 38351) THEY SAY THE SAME THING "NO PARTS, CALL YOU WHEN WE GET THEM". THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 133,006.
KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION SYSTEM FROM TIME TO TIME THE KEYS ARE LEFT IN THE IGNITION STEERING WHEEL GETS LOCKED UNABLE TO RETRIEVE KEY. ELECTRICAL STABILITY CONTROL DEFECT SINCE BUYING IT IN 2003, NUMEROUS SUSPENSION PROBLEMS SINCE 2003, SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FIXING DEFECTS. *TR
ON TWO OR THREE OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ON, WITHOUT WARNING MY HEADLIGHTS AND PARK LIGHTS HAVE SHUT OFF BY THEMSELVES. GOOD AFTERNOON, I RECEIVED A REAR STRUCTURE REINFORCEMENT LETTER FROM CHRYSLER AND THE NATIONAL TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION STATING THAT CERTAIN 2002-2007 MODEL YEAR JEEP LIBERTY VEHICLES CONTAIN DEFECT RELATED TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY. PROBLEM: THE FUEL TANK ON VEHICLE HAS A SMALL CHANCE OF EXPERIENCING A FUEL LEAK DURING CERTAIN TYPES OF REAR END COLLISIONS. FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN RESULT IN AN UNDERBODY FIRE. WHAT DEALER WILL DO: CHRYSLER INTENDS TO INSPECT YOUR VEHICLE AND INSTALL AN OEM TRAILER HITCH WHERE APPROPRIATE, FREE OF CHARGE (PARTS AND LABOR) TO BETTER MANAGE CRASH FORCES IN LOW-SPEED IMPACT I CALLED THE DEALER AND IT TURNS OUT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AND CHRYSLER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SENDING THEM THE PARTS. I AM ALMOST 8 MONTHS PREGNANT AND QUITE WORRIED DRIVING THE CAR BUT I NEED IT. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME GET THIS RESOLVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE IN 2 WEEKS I'M GETTING MY FUTURE CHILD'S CARSEAT INSTALLED AND WOULD LIKE THIS OTHER SAFETY PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR; HOWEVER, THEY STATED THAT REPLACEMENT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. I CALLED ONE MONTH AGO, AND, AGAIN, PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. FOR THE LAST 3 WEEKS, MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN LIGHTING UP FOR LONG PERIODS. PLEASE ADVISE.

RSTR. CONTROL MODULE #56010501-AG NEEDED TO BE ORDERED ($266.00 FOR PART ONLY), BUT THE DEALERSHIP ALREADY HAD 22 ON BACK ORDER....22!...AT A SINGLE DEALERSHIP! BOTH TIMES THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED MY DAUGHTER THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. AFTER MORE THAN 8 MONTHS, I BELIEVE THAT CHRYSLER CORP. HAD SUFFICIENT TIME TO GET THESE PARTS AND FIX THE VEHICLE. APPARENTLY, CHRYSLER CORP IS NOT INTENDING OR ABLE TO FIX THE SAFETY PROBLEM WITH MY DAUGHTER'S CAR. I CONTACTED THE JEEP DEALER GATOR AUTOMOTIVE GROUP ON APRIL 7, 2014 TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF THE RECALL AND TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE REPAIR. I DID NOT DO SO PREVIOUSLY AS THE ANNOUNCEMENT STATED THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT US. NO APPOINTMENT OR PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME AND THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. NEXT I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND GOT THE SAME RESPONSE THAT THEY HAD NO PARTS AND I HAD TO WAIT FOR THEM TO CONTACT ME. IT IS NOW JULY 29, 2014 AND I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME AS THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL. I TOOK MY 2002 JEEP LIBERTY INTO DAVID DODGE IN GLENN MILLS, PA TO HAVE THE M35 AIRBAG RECALL PERFORMED. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON. AFTER THE RECALL PROCEDURE WAS PERFORMED, THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THE LIGHT HAD NOT GONE OUT AND THAT THE FRONT, LEFT IMPACT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ($312). I AM REPORTING THIS ISSUE SO THERE IS A RECORD IN CASE OTHER JEEP OWNERS EXPERIENCE THE SAME THING OR, IF A LATER INVESTIGATION REVEALS A THIS WAS A FAULTY SENSOR OR, AS A RESULT OF THE ORIGINAL M35 AIRBAG RECALL ISSUE. *TR
