WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND SUDDENLY LOST POWER. HAD TO BE TOWED TO GARAGE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR AND CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSORS WERE BOTH GONE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. JEEP LIBERTY SPORT 2003 ONLY HAS 61000 MILES ON IT. *TR
2003 JEEP LIBERTY PASSENGER AND DRIVER REAR WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL AND WINDOW FALLS DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY. REPLACED TWICE, NOW REPLACING THIRD WINDOW. DEALER SAYS PLASTIC PARTS USED - KNOWS OF PROBLEM YET DEALER OR CHRYSLER WILL NOT PAY FOR EITHER DEFECTIVE PART AND/OR SERVICE. WROTE LETTER TO CHRYSLER OCT. 10,2007 CONCERNING ISSUE - GIVEN COMPLAINT NUMBER. I REQUESTED REFUND FOR DEFECTIVE PARTS - CHRYSLER HAS NOT REPLIED. WILL CONTACT AGAIN. THE REFLECTIVE COATING ON THE BACK OF THE LEFT SIDE (DRIVER'S) MIRROR HAS PEELED OFF , MAKING THE MIRROR USELESS. *TR
2003 JEEP LIBERTY LIMITED. DUE FOR INSPECTION MAY OF 2009. FAILED TO PASS INSPECTION DUE TO FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS. NEXT DAY, RECEIVED NOTICE IN THE MAIL REGARDING RECALL OF FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS (THE RECALL WAS ISSUED IN 2006, I FOUND OUT LATER, BUT THIS WAS THE FIRST I WAS NOTIFIED). CALLED DEALERSHIP (DON WHITE'S OF TIMONIUM) REGARDING RECALL, WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE A FEW DAYS TO RECEIVE PARTS, BUT STILL WITHIN THE MONTH OF MAY, TOLD THAT THEY WOULD CALL IN A FEW DAYS WITH MORE EXACT DATES. CANCELED APPOINTMENT THAT I HAD PREVIOUSLY MADE TO HAVE BALL JOINTS REPLACED, SINCE RECALL WOULD REPAIR THE PARTS FREE OF CHARGE. NEVER RECEIVED PHONE CALL, SO PLACED CALL MYSELF TO DEALERSHIP, TOLD IT WOULD BE SEVERAL WEEKS TO RECEIVE PARTS AS THEY WERE ON BACK-ORDER. I THEN PLACED CALL TO CHRYSLER TO INVESTIGATE HUGE DELAY ON RECALL PARTS (MAY 26TH). I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE ON BACK-ORDER, BUT CHRYSLER WOULD ARRANGE FOR A RENTAL (FREE OF CHARGE) WHILE I WAITED FOR THE PARTS TO ARRIVE. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME IN 3 TO 4 DAYS WITH THE CAR RENTAL INFORMATION. NEVER RECEIVED PHONE CALL. CALLED CHRYSLER AGAIN ON JUNE 1ST, WAS TOLD TO WAIT ANOTHER DAY. CALLED BACK THE NEXT DAY (TODAY) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEALERSHIP NEVER ORDERED THE PARTS AND THAT CHRYSLER NEEDED TO "INVESTIGATE" FURTHER BEFORE I COULD BE ISSUED A RENTAL, IF I WOULD GET ONE AT ALL. NOW THE INSPECTION HAS EXPIRED ON THE JEEP AND I AM LEFT WITH AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. I STILL HAVE TO WORK AND CANNOT AFFORD A RENTAL FOR WHAT COULD AMOUNT TO A MONTH OR MORE. *TR
I HAVE A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY, AS I WAS CROSSING A RR TRACK THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW WENT DOWN BY ITSELF. THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER SAYS IT IS GOING TO COST $400 TO $500 TO REPAIR, I COULD NOT AFFORD IT SO HAD TO PUT A PEG IN THE WINDOW TO HOLD IT UP, ABOUT 1 YEAR LATER MY SON ROLLED DOWN THE BACK DRIVER SIDE AND IT WOULD NOT ROLL UP, IT IS SAME THING HAPPENED ON THE OTHER WINDOW, AS I WAS LOOKING ONLINE THIS IS HAPPENING ALOT. I AM WONDERING ALONG WITH LOTS OF OTHER PEOPLE WHY THE IS NO RECALL BEEN PLACED ON CONSIDERING THERE ARE SO MANY CASES. JUST BECAUSE NO INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED DOES NOT MEAN THEY SHOULD GET AWAY WITH NOT FIXING THEIR BAD PARTS. IF IT WAS ONE OR TWO CASES I COULD SEE THEM NOT FIXING IT BUT ALL I HAVE READ ONLINE IT IS WAY MORE THAN THAT. WE THE CONSUMER SHOULD BE PROTECTED FROM THE BIG AUTOMAKERS. *TR
THERE WASN'T AN INCIDENT/FAILURE IN THIS CASE, HOWEVER I AM HOPING TO PREVENT ONE FROM OCCURRING. OVER 950 PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PART (A POWER STEERING HOSE) ON BACK ORDER. IF THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO ORDER THIS PART, ISN'T IT DEFECTIVE? MEANWHILE, WELL OVER 900 OF US CONTINUE TO DRIVE A JEEP IN WHICH THE STEERING CAN GO OUT AT ANY MOMENT, CAUSING HOW MANY POTENTIAL INJURIES AND DEATHS? I THINK THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO-IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY CAR HAS STALLED. PRIOR TO IT STALLING IT WOULD HAVE POWER SURGES, BACKFIRE, THE RPM NEEDLE WOULD GO CRAZY, AND THEN JUST SHUT OFF LOOSING ALL POWER TO BRAKES AND STEERING. STALLING WOULD OCCUR MOSTLY AT LOWER RATES OF SPEEDS (UNDER 50MPH). IT WOULDN'T TURNOVER IMMEDIATELY. I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT 20 TO 25 SECONDS EACH TIME AND THEN IT WOULD START, ALMOST AS IF THE SYSTEM RESETS ITSELF. IT'S PRETTY SCARY WHEN YOU HAVE TO YOUNG CHILDREN AND YOUR ON A FREEWAY AND YOUR CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN STALLS. THE SECOND PROBLEM I'M HAVING IS A VERY LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR END. I POINTED MY SIDE MIRROR DOWN TOWARDS MY BACKTIRE. I WATCHED AS THE REAREND MADE A LOAD CLUNCKING NOISE AND IT WAS AS IF THE BACK TIRE WAS BEING PUSHED OUTWARDS. THE THIRD PROBLEM IS MY PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW JUST DROPPED INTO THE DOOR. THE MOTOR STILL WORKS I CAN HEAR IT. AND LAST BUT NO LEAST MY LEFT TURN SIGNAL BLINKS EXTREMELY FAST AND THEN SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE JEEP DEALERSHIP. I THINK IT'S KIND OF FUNNY THAT THE GUY WANTS TO CHARGE ME $200 TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEMS I'M HAVING TO FIND OUT WHAT IT IS. IGNITION LOCKS UP. KEY SOMETIMES WON'T TURN, SOMETIMES WILL, BUT CAR WILL NOT START. KEY SOMETIMES WON'T GO ALL THE WAY INTO THE IGNITION SLOT. ALL FUSES ARE FINE, POWER ON VEHICLE IS FINE. STARTER GOOD, EVERYTHING ELSE CHECKED OUT. STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT LOCK. CAR WILL NOT START. WELL-MAINTAINED, 2003 JEEP LIBERTY WITH 80,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
POWER WINDOWS FAILING TO STAY UP DUE TO FAULTY REGULATORS: TWO YEARS AGO THE REAR LEFT WINDOW OF MY 2003 LIBERTY FELL INTO THE DOOR CASING. WHEN USING THE ATOMATIC BUTTONS, THE WINDOW WOULD NOT GO UP AND THE WINDOW MOTOR WOULD SIMPLY ATTEMPT TO RAISE THE WINDOW WITH NO SUCCESS. UPON TAKING IT TO THE JEEP DEALER, THEY STATED THE WINDOW REGULATOR NEEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER PAYING $227.94, MY WINDOW WAS FIXED AND BACK TO NORMAL. SURPRISINGLY, A FEW MONTHS LATER, THE RIGHT WINDOW FELL WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY (THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE). BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP WE WENT, FOR A SECOND AND UNNECESSARY DIAGNOSTIC (THE MAINTENCE MAN SAID THIS WAS A PROBLEM HE HAD FREQUENTLY SEEN) TO DETERMINE THE REGULATOR WAS BROKEN. I PAID TO HAVE THE SECOND WINDOW FIXED AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE MY CAR. THIS WEEK, THE LEFT REAR WINDOW FELL AGAIN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD (20 MPH). I CONTACTED JEEP HEADQUARTERS DIRECTLY AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE (INCULDING THE NHTSA WEBSITE) THAT THIS IS CLEARLY NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND THEY HAVE NEGLECTED TO ADDRESS THE SAFTEY ISSUE WITH THEIR AUTOMOBILE OWNERS. THEY ARE REQUESTING THAT I TAKE MY JEEP BACK IN FOR ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC, AND TO CONFIRM THERE HAS BEEN NO "NEGLECT" OF MAINTENANCE ON MY PART. MY JEEP HAS JUST OVER 65,000 MILES ' IT IS IN PERFECT CONDITION WITH THE EXCEPTION OF FAULTY WINDOWS. UPON INSPECTION OF THE DEALER THIS WEEK, JEEP SAYS THEY WILL DETERMINE THE NEXT STEP DEPENDING ON THE RESULTS. THIS ISSUE IS DANGEROUS FOR MULTIPLE REASONS - CHILDREN RIDING IN THE CAR, THE FRIGHTENING NOISE MADE FROM THE DROPPING WINDOW, LACK OF SECURITY WHEN PARKING THE CAR/AT A STOP, WEATHER (RAIN, HAIL, SNOW, ETC.), DRIVERS STARTLED BY THE DROP AND ATTEMPTING TO ASSESS THE SITUATION WHILE DRIVING, ETC. ACCORDING TO JEEP HEADQUARTERS VIA PHONE, THEY DISHONESTLY CLAIM TO BE UNAWARE OF THE SITUATION. *TR
START WITH A NOISE WHEN I PUSH BRAKES AND AFTER TWO WEEKS THE LEFT BALL JOINT SNAP AND LEFT SIDE WAS WRECK (PAINT, BUMPER) NOW I'M AFRAID THIS THING HAPPEN WITH RIGHT BALL JOINT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE IN THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE BALL JOINTS WERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. SHE WAS UNSURE IF IT WAS THE UPPER OR LOWER JOINTS THAT NEEDED REPAIR. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE FOR FREE IN JULY OF 2006. IN JANUARY OF 2007, THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE BALL JOINTS AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ISSUE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED. THREE DAYS AGO, WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE CONTACT COULD NOT MOVE THE VEHICLE. SHE EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL WAS TILTED OUTWARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE UPPER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
RIGHT FRONT UPPER BALL JOINT GETTING CLOSE TO SEPARATION. *TR
UPPER BALL JOINTS WORN TO THE POINT THE VEHICLE WAS CONSIDERED UNSAFE BY JEEP DEALERSHIP. *TR
I HAVE HAD TO FIX MY REAR WINDOW REGULATORS 4 TIMES AND IT IS BROKE AGAIN. THEY ARE MADE SO CHEAP, THERE IS A PLASTIC PIECE IN IT THAT KEEPS BREAKING, THE MOTOR STILL WORKS BUT DUE TO THE PLASTIC PIECE YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE THING. IT HAS BECOME VERY EXPENSIVE. NOW I HAVE MY WINDOW STOPPED FROM OPENING. IT FELL AND NO ONE IS EVER IN THE BACK SEAT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH IN REVERSE, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THEN THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE COLLAPSED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE UPPER BALL JOINTS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THE UPPER BALL JOINTS ARE CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT ASSUME FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE REPAIR BECAUSE THERE WERE NO RECALLS AVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 57,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 25 TO 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT. THE BALL JOINTS FAILED AND CAUSED THE TIRES TO FLATTEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. HE FILED AN INCIDENT REPORT WITH CHRYSLER. HE HAS PICTURES OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 46,000.
2003 JEEP LIBERTY (FREEDOM EDITION) POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE HAS FAILED TWICE FIRST TIME - JUNE 2007 IT WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER NOVEMBER 2008 IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY AND THE WARRANTY ON THE PART WAS UP JUNE 2008. SHOULD THIS HAVE TO BE REPLACED TWICE IN A YEAR AND A HALF? *TR
UPPER BALL JOINT BROKE WHILE PULLING INTO MY DRIVE WAY. HAD IT BROKE ONLY MINUTES EARLIER IT WOULD HAVE LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR

WHEN THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTO SHOP FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE RUBBER BOOTS ON THE UPPER CONTROL ARM BALL JOINTS WERE SEVERELY TORN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT THE BALL JOINTS BE REPLACED. THEY ALSO STATED RECENTLY THAT THE PART WAS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND COULD NOT ADVISE HIM OF THE DATE OF AVAILABILITY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 34,600.
MY POWER WINDOWS BROKE IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY ACROSS A BRIDGE, MY UPPER BALL JOINT DISCONNECTED CAUSING THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT TIRE TO FALL OFF. NO APPARENT WARNING THAT VEHICLE WAS IN NEED OF REPAIR. NO ONE WAS INJURED. HAD VEHICLE TOWED AND CONTROL ARM: UPPER BALL JOINT REPLACED. THE LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED ON 12/29/2006 DUE TO THE RECALL IN 06' OF THE LOWER BALL JOINTS -- IT APPEARS THE UPPER BALL JOINTS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. MY CONCERN NOW IS WHEN WILL THE OTHER SIDE GO BAD? HOPEFULLY I WON'T BE TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED WHEN THE OTHER SIDE GOES, BECAUSE I FEAR THE OUTCOME. IT ONLY HAD 61,000 MILES AT THE TIME -- CAN I ASSUME THE SIDE THAT WAS REPAIRED IS SAFE TO DRIVE ANOTHER 61,000. IT'S NOT WORTH PUTTING MY LIFE AND/OR OTHERS IN DANGER. HOW CAN CHRYSLER ASSURE ME THAT IT IS SAFE? I FEEL THIS IS A DANGEROUS AND PREMATURE FAILURE OF THIS PART AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY CHRYSLER, JUST FOR SAFETY ALONE. *TR
ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS ONE OF THE REAR WINDOWS ON MY JEEP LIBERTY HAS FALLEN INTO THE DOOR PANEL AND BECOME INOPERABLE. THE FIRST TWO TIMES REQUIRED THE REPLACEMENT OF A WINDOW REGULATOR. THE THIRD INSTANCE HAPPENED TODAY AND I'M SURE WILL REQUIRE THE SAME SOLUTION. *TR
2003 JEEP LIBERTY - LOWER BALL JOINTS REPLACED ON RECALL NOTICE NOW I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE UPPER BALL JOINT NEEDS REPLACING. I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED YET. *TR
OUR 2003 JEEP LIBERTY HAS A DEFECT THAT HAS A TSB ON IT. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN REPAIRED BY A DEALER IN MAY 2004. IN CHRYSLERS NOTIFICATION TO CUSTOMERS, THEY CLAIM THAT THE REAR FLIP UP WINDOW MAY OPEN IF WATER GETS INTO THE SWITCH, ONLY IF VEHICLE IS UN-LOCKED. THAT UN-LOCKED STATEMENT IS FALSE AND WE HAVE HAD IT HAPPEN 2 OR 3 TIMES WITH VEHICLE LOCKED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT WOULD ALLOW A PERSON TO ENTER THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE REAR LIFT GLASS, UNKNOWN TO THE OPERATOR AND WOULD EXPOSE THE OPERATOR TO THEFT AND ASSAULT. CHRYSLER OUTRIGHT LIED ABOUT THE UNLOCKED CONDITION AS THE LOCK IS POWERED AT ALL TIMES AND ONLY NEEDS TO BE GROUNDED TO OPERATE. *TR

THREE TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR AS I AM COMING TO A STOP, THE JEEP'S ENGINE STARTED RACING, ONLY BY SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL DID I STOP BEFORE HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT. I NEEDED TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF, BECAUSE THE ENGINE WAS ROARING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THE WINDOWS ELECTRIC MOTOR WAS DEFECTIVE WHICH CAUSED THE WINDOWS TO ROLL DOWN AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE MOTOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DECIDED TO REIMBURSE HER FOR THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
ON JUNE 19, 2008 I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MAKE A LOUD NOISE FROM THE REAR AND 10-15 MINUTES LATER I HEARD A LOUD THUMP AND THE CAR STOPPED, I HAD TO ROLL TO A STOP AN THE SIDE OF THE HWY...WHEN I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR THE REAR AXLE HAD FALLEN. THE JEEP HAS HAD A REAR NOISE FOR SOMETIME NOW. I TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD THAT THE REAR AXLE NEEDED OIL IT WAS COMPLETELY DRIED UP AND THE METAL HAS BEEN GRINDING WHICH IS WHY THE NOISE WAS THERE. I ASKED WHY WAS THERE NO OIL AND EVERYONE LOOKED SURPRISED AND DID NOT HAVE AN ANSWER. NEVER HEARD OF THAT, I WAS TOLD THAT METAL PARTICLES WHERE IN THE OIL PAN AND THAT THE NOISE WILL CONTINUE BUT THAT THERE WAS NO DANGER. MONTHS LATER I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO HAVE THAT SAME REAR AXLE OIL CHANGED AND WAS TOLD THAT I DO NOT NEED TO DO THAT AGAIN. NOW 6 MONTHS LATER THE CARS AXLE FALLS OUT. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND HAVE OWNED VARIES VEHICLE WHICH I HAVE DRIVEN OVER 230,000 MILES AND NEVER HAD THE OIL IN THE AXLES REPLACE. WHY DID THIS HAPPEN TO MY VEHICLE? WHAT CAN I DO? I AM 4 MONTHS SHY OF PAYING OFF THIS VEHICLE. WHAT A JOKE. *TR
I HAVE A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT. IN 5/06 I TOOK MY CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT BRAKE REPAIR GARAGE ( S & K MUFFLER BRAKES)SINCE MY CAR WAS MAKING A TERRIBLE NOISE ON BACKING UP. THIS SHOP SAID THAT I NEEDED A TOTAL REHAUL OF MY BRAKES AS THEY WERE FROZEN IN THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT FIX MY CAR THAT I ONLY HAD 24,000 MILES ON IT AND THE DEALER SHOULD FIX IT AS IT WAS A DEFECT AND THEY SENT ME BACK TO THE DEALER (EVEN THOUGH I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY). I GAVE MONICATTI CHRYSLER THE PAPER (ESTIMATE) THEY GAVE ME AND I PAID FOR A BRAKE JOB $165.00 BUT THEY DID NOT FIX EVERYTHING THAT THE INDEPENDENT SHOP SAID THEY SHOULD. LATER CHRYSLER LLC PAID ME BACK THE $165.00 WHEN I FILED A COMPLAINT. ON 6-19-08 WITH ONLY 15,000 MORE MILES ON THE CAR I WENT TO GET NEW TIRES AT BELLE TIRE. THEY SHOWED ME THAT ON MY REAR BRAKE I HAD 80-90% ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND ONLY ABOUT 2% ON THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE BRAKE WAS STILL SEIZED UP ON THE REAR LEFT BRAKE AND THAT IT WAS ALMOST 100% WORN AND THAT THE CALIPER COULD COME OUT AND I WOULD LOSE ALL OF MY BRAKE FLUID. THEY TOLD ME I DID NOT HAVE TO HAVE IT FIXED THERE BUT I SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING THE CAR. I PARKED IT AND HAD IT FIXED THERE THE NEXT DAY. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE REAR BRAKES AND I AM REPORTING IT TO YOU AS I DO NOT WANT ANYONE KILLED WHEN THEY LOSE ALL OF THEIR BRAKES. I CALLED JEEP AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE BRAKES OR SILENT RECALLS FOR THE BRAKES (6-23-08). I SPOKE TO MARK AND THEN TO SCOTT IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AT JEEP. HERE I AM TRAVELING ON FREEWAYS ETC., WITH NO BRAKES AND DID NOT KNOW IT. I JUST HAD THEM RE DONE ON 8/04/06 SO WHY WOULD I THINK THAT ANYTHING IS WRONG. RPM NEEDLE GOES WILD AFTER ENGINE CUTS OUT. CAN RESTART AND LIMP A FEW MILES, THEN NEED TOW - 2X TOWED IN 1 WEEK, 3X TOWED IN 2 MONTHS, AND 4 TRIPS TO SHOP WITHOUT RESULTS. CAR CURRENTLY STUCK UPSTATE NY WHERE I WAS TRYING TO VACATION -AND CHRYSLER/JEEP NOT SO COOPERATIVE. THERE'S PLENTY EVIDENCE OF STALLING PROBLEMS ON INTERNET FOR 4-5 YEARS - SEE EDMUNDS. THEORIES: DECELERATION / RPMS BELOW 1000 MAKE ENGINE CUT OUT. SOLENOID IS PULLING BATTERY AMPS =12 AND CAUSING HAVOC IN IGNITION SYSTEM, SHORT-CIRCUITING SENSORS. THERMAL COMPUTER MODULE DAMAGE. COMPUTER SCANS FOR DIAGNOSTIC CODES DEFINITELY NOT RELIABLE. BY RELYING ONLY ON COMPUTER MODULE FOR DIAGNOSIS, DEALERS ARE ONLY MAKING THE PROBLEM WORSE BECAUSE THEY ARE SENDING CARS BACK OUT WITHOUT FIXING ROOT PROBLEM, CAUSING MORE DAMAGE. I HAD WHEEL SENSOR FOUND CORRODED 6/3, CRANK SENSOR FAIL 8/6 AND CAM SENSOR FAILED 8/10. SENSORS DON'T FAIL SEQUENTIALLY NOR SO FAST. SOMETHING IS CAUSING SENSORS TO FAIL. AND WHILE SENSORS NOT WORKING THEY ARE CAUSING DAMAGE OF THEIR OWN...COMPUTER, IGNITION COILS (ALL 6 NEEDED REPAIR IN 1 CASE WHERE BURNED OUT). WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, MY UPPER BALL JOINT DISCONNECTED CAUSING THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT TIRE TO FALL OFF. I DID HAVE MY CHILDREN WITH ME HOWEVER NO ONE WAS INJURED. WHILE DRIVING MY 2003 JEEP LIBERTY THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL SNAPPED OFF. THE DATE WAS 3/9/08. I WAS TURNING A CORNER AND FELT A SHARP SNAP AND THE FRONT END DOVE TOWARD THE GROUND. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED AND IT WAS REPAIRED AT A COST OF APPROX $400 PLUS $60 FOR TOWING. THE DESCRIPTION ON THE REPAIR BILL IS "BALL JOINT CAME OUT OF UPPER CONTROL ARM. REPLACED RT FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY." I TRIED CALLING JEEP'S CORPORATE OFFICE (3/14/08 AT 10:45AM) PER THE DEALER RECOMMENDATION. THE CORPORATE PERSON SAID IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, SHE VERY RUDE AND REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO ASSIST. WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE PERSON'S SUPERVISOR SHE REFUSED SAYING THEY SHE WAS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE THESE DECISIONS. MY GREATEST FEAR IS THAT IF I WAS ON MY NORMAL DAILY COMMUTE OF 70 MILES ON THE FREEWAY AND THE WHEEL SNAPPED OFF, THEN I PROBABLY WOULD NOT BE TYPING THIS MESSAGE TODAY. THE CAR WOULD HAVE EASILY FLIPPED. I HAVE THE OLD PART AND IT IS AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW. I WISH JEEP CORPORATION WAS MORE RESPONSIBLE TO RECOGNIZE THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS FAILURE. THE JEEP MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND EACH TIME THEY GAVE HIM A DIFFERENT CLAIM NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,800.

THEY REQUESTED OIL CHANGE RECEIPTS WHICH I AM TRACKING DOWN FROM VARIOUS OIL CHANGE LOCATIONS AND GAVE ME NO ANSWER TO WHAT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM WAS WHEN I PERIODICALLY CALLED TO CHECK IN. DO I HAVE ANY RIGHTS HERE? 7/70,000 FULL WARRANTY AND ALL THEY ARE TELLING ME IS I NEED RECEIPTS. I AM AFRAID THEY WILL DENY CLAIM ANYWAY, AS SEVERAL OTHER POSTINGS INDICATE ENGINE ISSUES AND DENIAL.
