I HAVE 2003 JEEP LIBERTY AND THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW MOTOR HAS WENT OUT. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN I REMOVE THE MOTOR IT WAS MADE OF CHEAP PLASTIC I CAN NOT BELIEVE THEY DID THIS KNOWING THAT IT WOULD BREAK SO EASY. *TR
NO UNUSUAL EVENTS LEADING TO FAILURE. FAILURE WAS THE LEFT REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR. CONSEQUENCES ARE DRIVING WITH INCLEMENT WEATHER ENTERING THE VEHICLE AND DISTRACTING THE DRIVER. FAILURE WAS CORRECTED BY REPLACEMENT OF REGULATOR. *TR
PREMATURE RUST THROUGH ON WINDOW FRAME AROUND REAR HATCH GLASS. MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY WATER LEAKING THROUGH THE REAR UPPER BRAKE LIGHT. *TR
THE UPPER BALL JOINT OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL FAILED WHILE TURNING IN A MCDONALD'S DRIVE THROUGH. THE BALL JOINT WAS RUSTED. THERE IS NO WAY TO MAINTAIN THIS JOINT, AS IT IS A SEALED BEARING. THE LOWER BALL JOINT WAS REPAIRED IN AN EARLIER RECALL LAST YEAR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT AT ANY SPEED, THE CONTACT HEARD A POPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. THREE(3) BROKEN WINDOW REGULATORS. *TR
I RECEIVED THE RECALL LETTER IN THE MAIL REGARDING THE BALL JOINTS AND I TOOK MY CAR TO LYNCH CHRYSLER IN CHICAGO FOR REPAIRS BACK IN 2003 OR 2004. I THOUGHT THAT TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT IN NOVEMBER OF 2007 I WAS PARKING MY JEEP LIBERTY AND WHEN I CUT THE WHEEL THE WHEEL JUST FELL OFF. I DIDN'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR INJURIES, BUT I DID HAVE TO REPORT THE INCIDENT TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY BECAUSE THE DAMAGES TO MY CAR WERE OVER $1,700. *TR
DRIVING ON US27 THE RIGHT REAR TIRE SEPARATED, CAUSING $2800 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT SIDE, MOLDINGS, BUMPER ABD TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY. TIRES HAD ABOUT 14,000 MILES ON THEM, WERE PROPERLY INFLATED AND ABOUT 18 MONTHS OLD. AFTER INSPECTION ALL REMAINING TIRES HAD THE BEGINNINGS OF TREAD SEPARATION. I AM SUBMITTING A CLAIM WITH GENERAL TIRE. *TR
BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, HEARD A CLUNKING NOISE. PUT IN DRIVE, TURNED THE WHEEL AND THE VEHICLE TILTED TO THE DRIVERS SIDE. EXITED THE VEHICLE TO FIND THE DRIVERS SIDE TIRE INVERTED AND ALMOST PARALLEL TO THE GROUND. WHEN TOW TRUCK LIFTED THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE ALSO COLLAPSED. HAD VEHICLE FIXED TODAY. HAD TO REPLACE BOTH UPPER BALL JOINTS, AND ARMS. VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD, HAD NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD AND ONLY HAD 59,000 MILES. REPAIR SHOP OWNER SAID HE HAS NEVER SEEN BOTH BALL JOINTS COLLAPSE AND THERE IS NO REASON WHY THEY SHOULD HAVE, EXCEPT FOR FAULTY PARTS. *TR
REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL OF TRACK. CAME OUTSIDE TO THE CAR AND NOTICED THE WINDOW WAS ROLLED DOWN SLIGHTLY. TRIED TO ROLL UP AND I CAN HEAR THE MOTOR BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. IM GUESSING ITS PROBABLY A CABLE THAT SNAPPED. DID A LITTLE RESEARCH AND IT SEEMS THAT IM NOT THE ONLY LIBERTY OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM. *JB
VEHICLE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ERRATICALLY AND VIOLENTLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR AND HE WAS UNABLE TO ROLL IT BACK UP. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE PREVIOUSLY OCCURRED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDOW ACTUATOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
THE TRANSMISSION ON OUR JEEP LIBERTY WENT ABOUT A MONTH AND HALF AGO. WE BROUGHT IT TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP IN LINCOLN, RHODE ISLAND AND WERE TOLD IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE 7 YEAR/70,000 MILE WARRANTY; HOWEVER, THEY ALSO TOLD US WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION, BUT A REBUILT ONE WOULD BE FASTER AND JUST AS GOOD. THEY HAD OUR VEHICLE FOR ABOUT A WEEK. WE TRIED TO BE PATIENT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS DIFFICULT TO NOT HAVE THE USE OF OUR VEHICLE FOR THIS AMOUNT OF TIME. WE GOT THE JEEP BACK AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION HAS GONE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS BUCKING AND SMELLED LIKE IT WAS ON FIRE. IT IS MY OPINION THAT IF HE HAD CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT THAT DAY, IT WOULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE. WE CALLED THE SAME DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO TAKE IT RIGHT AWAY. WHEN WE DID DROP IT OFF, IT SAT THERE BEFORE THEY COULD LOOK AT IT. THEY SAID IT WAS A FAULTY PART IN THE TRANSMISSION AND AGAIN THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT THREE WEEKS FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION, BUT THE PART COULD BE ORDERED AND SENT BY FEDERAL EXPRESS. WE CANNOT BE WITHOUT THIS VEHICLE AGAIN FOR THREE WEEKS SO WE CHOSE THE REBUILT TRANSMISSION. I CALLED TODAY, AND THEY HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE PART AND HAVEN'T CALLED ME BACK WITH WHERE IT IS. I CALLED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAID MAYBE THEY COULD OFFER "GOODWILL ASSISTANCE" WITH A LOANER VEHICLE, BUT THEN SAID NO BECAUSE IT IS NOT COVERED IN OUR WARRANTY AND WE ARE OVER IN MILEAGE, EVEN THOUGH OUR JEEP IS NOT 7 YEARS OLD AND DOES NOT HAVE 70,000 MILES ON IT. *JB
I AM ON MY 2ND REPAIR OF BALL JOINTS WITH MY 2003 JEEP LIBERTY, I HAVE ALSO HAD A REPAIR WHEN WATER GATHERED AND CAUSED MY FRONT PASSENGER SIDE CARPET TO GET SOAKED WITH WATER. MY ISSUE IS RELATED TO MY TIRES, I HAVE HAD RUBBING AND VEERING TO THE RIGHT PROBLEMS SINCE I PURCHASED MY CAR A FEW YEARS AGO. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN QUESTIONING ALIGNMENT AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO ROTATE EVERY OIL CHANGE WHICH I DUE BUT THE PREMATURE WEAR ON MY TIRES IS BAD. I BELIEVE IT IS CAUSED FROM THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINT PROBLEMS AND FEEL MY TIRES NEED TO BE REPLACED BY THE DEALER AT NO CHARGE TO ME. *TR

ENGINE SERPENTINE BELT TENSIONER CAUSING RATCHETING NOISE AND IMPROPER OPERATION. THIS IS THE 5TH TENSIONER. *TR

THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE WAIT TIME FOR THE LOWER BALL JOINT REPAIR HAD BEEN SHORTER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 18,000.
THE BLOWER SWITCH ON THE DASH FOR HEAT ,DEFROST,AIR, ETC. FAILED AND ONLY WORKS ON THE HIGHEST SETTING. THIS IS ODD BECAUSE, THREE DIFFERENT MODELS OF CHRYSLER IN MY FAMILY THIS ALL HAPPEN TO. JEEP, LIBERTY, JEEP, WRANGLER, AND DODGE, CARAVAN. I WOULD SAY THIS IS A ISSUE BUT NO ANSWERS FROM CHRYSLER. *TR

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30/35 MILES AN HOUR, I HIT A DIP IN A ROAD ,MY FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WITH SWING ARM COLLAPSED OUTWARD. I HAVE A JEEP LIBERTY SPORT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS COULD DAMAGE THE FRONT SUSPENSION AND CAUSE A LOSS OF STEERING. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,139.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE LOWER BALL JOINT (NHTSA CAMPAIGN#06V288000). THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY RECEIVED THREE PARTS PER MONTH AND WOULD BE UNABLE TO SAY HOW IT WOULD TAKE TO PERFORM RECALL WORK. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,000. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE.
I HAVE A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY WITH 87,000 MILES ON IT AND THE UPPER BALL JOINT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BROKE IN HALF TODAY WHILE I WAS SLOWLY MAKING A TURN INTO MY OFFICE. THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR SAID THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. I WAS LUCKY THAT I WAS ONLY GOING SO SLOW HOUR WHEN IT BROKE BECAUSE IF I HAD BEEN GOING FASTER, I WOULD HAVE WRECKED THE VEHICLE. MY JEEP HAS NEVER BEEN OFF-ROAD SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. JEEP DOES CURRENTLY HAVE A RECALL IN PLACE FOR THE LOWER BALL JOINTS WHICH THEY SAY GET CORRODED AND SEPARATE FROM THE CONTROL ARM. THE UPPER BALL JOINT DID THE SAME EXACT THING BUT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR MAYBE EVEN INJURED SOMEONE ELSE HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY. SINCE THE RECALL IS ONLY FOR THE LOWER BALL JOINT THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT HELP WITH THE COST. THE DAMAGE WAS NOT JUST TO THE UPPER BALL JOINT BUT TO THE ROTOR AND THE BREAK LINE AND THE FRONT AXLE. I CALLED CHRYSLER CORPORATE SERVICES AND BASICALLY THEY TOLD ME TO POUND SALT. I ALSO SEE THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. *TR
2003 JEEP LIBERTY WITH LOWER BALL JOINT PROBLEMS. CUSTOMER STATES THAT SHE NEVER RECEIVED THE RECALL FOR THE LOWER BALL JOINT REPAIR. SHE ENDED UP BREAKING DOWN ON THE ROAD, AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT REFUND HER. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL BECAME LOOSE AND FELL OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE WAY THE CONSUMER WENT ABOUT HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED NEGATED ANY REASON FOR THEM TO CONSIDER REIMBURSEMENT. THE DEALER ALSO FOUND PLAY IN THE LEFT FRONT OUTER TIE ROD AND LEFT FRONT AXLE BOOT. *JB

THIS IS DANGEROUS AND I FEAR THAT DRIVER'S SEAT WILL COME COMPLETELY UNATTACHED FROM FLOOR OF VEHICLE IN AN ACCIDENT, SUDDEN STOP OR VERY SOON! MANY OTHERS SEEM TO HAVE THESE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH SEAT MOUNTING BRACKETS. JEEP, CHRYSLER NOR DEALERS WILL HELP WITH THESE PROBLEMS! INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON BY THEMSELVES UNEXPECTEDLY AND SOMETIMES WILL NOT SHUT OFF WHEN ATTEMPTS ARE MADE TO SWITCH THEM OFF. LIGHT SWITCH CONTROL SEEMS SPORADIC AND DEFECTIVE. I FEAR A SHORT CIRCUIT RESULTING IN ELECTRICAL FIRE FROM DEFECTIVE LIGHT SWITCH CONTROL. *TR
NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR ANYTHING ABOUT THE JEEP NOW. WHILE DRIVING THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL FEEL OFF THE BALL JOINT SNAPPED. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THEY LOCKED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE WET. THE FRONT AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUFFERED BRUISING ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER AND A CUT ON THE NECK FROM THE SEAT BELT. THE PASSENGER SUFFERED SORENESS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 40,000.
2003 JEEP LIBERTY WITH LOWER BALL JOINT PROBLEMS CUSTOMER STATES THAT HE WAS NOT NOTIFIED ABOUT THE RECALL AND WANTS TO KNOW WHO NOTIFY THE CONSUMER**CC THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING THE LOWER BALL JOINT BROKE, AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION THE BALL JOINT WAS REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE RECALL NOTICES WERE SENT OUT 3 DAYS PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND WAS NEVER INFORMED OF THE RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE DEALER NEVER INFORMED HER OF THE RECALL AND STATED WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE TO INFORM THE CONSUMER OF THE RECALL BUT THE CONSUMER WANTS TO KNOW WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO INFORM HER OF THE RECALL AND WHAT THE PROCEDURES ARE FOR NOTIFYING CONSUMERS? *TR *UPDATED 12/12/07 *BF UPDATED
I HAVE HEARD THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 3.7 JEEP MOTORS. FROM WHAT THE MECHANICS HAVE TOLD ME IS THE LIFTERS POP LOOSE IN THE HEAD AND THE ENGINE SOUNDS LIKE IT HAS BLOWN. THE LIFTER RATTLES AROUND IN THE CYLINDER HEAD MAKING ALL KINDS OF NOISE. MY FIRST ONE WAS IN I THINK 2007 ON PASSENGER SIDE AND THE LIFTER JUMPED. TO REPLACE THE BROKEN PARTS WAS OVER 600.00 AND MY SECOND ONE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DESTROYED EVERYTHING IN THE CYLINDER HEAD. THE VEHICLE IS SITTING RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT SO I DON'T KNOW IF THERE WAS EXTERNAL DAMAGE DONE AS WELL. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON ALL OF THE JEEP BLOGS WITH THE 3.7 MOTOR IN MY 2003 JEEP LIBERTY AND SHOULD BE RECALLED TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR FREE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, AN ABNORMAL POP SOUND EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE AS THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDOW MOTOR REGULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. IN DECEMBER OF 2006, WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO IMMEDIATELY STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS SNOW ON THE GROUND AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. MOST RECENTLY, WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER AND CRASHED INTO A DITCH. THREE PASSENGERS WERE INJURED AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ON BOTH OCCASIONS, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE INSURANCE COMPANY THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING WHEEL, HOWEVER, THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 94,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED THE FRONT RIGHT BALL JOINT OF 2003 JEEP LIBERTY FAILED CAUSING THE TIRE TO FALL ONTO ITS SIDE. MINIMAL DAMAGE TO THE CAR AS I WAS JUST BEGINNING TO DRIVE AWAY FROM MY HOUSE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V288000 (SUSPENSION), BUT IT FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V119000 (SUSPENSION). THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED FOR THEIR SAFETY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACTS GRANDSON HEARD A LOUD BREAKING NOISE AND THE STEERING IMMEDIATELY LOCKED, CAUSING HIM TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, HE WAS ABLE TO AVOID A CRASH AND SUCCESSFULLY STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL GARAGE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. A PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR AXLES WERE CORRODED FOR A VERY LONG TIME, WHICH CAUSED THEM TO FAIL. THE INSURANCE COMPANY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THE DEALER DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V288000 (SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT), BUT THE CONTACT NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. THE MANUFACTURER SENT AN INVESTIGATOR TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FAILURE AND THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER IS REFUSING TO ASSUME ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY OF THE DAMAGED COMPONENTS CAUSED BY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND THE CONTACT HAS PICTURES OF THE FAILED COMPONENT. OUR 2003 JEEP LIBERTY FAILED THE STATE EMISSIONS TEST IN APRIL OF THIS YEAR. AT THIS POINT THE "ENGINE INDICATOR LIGHT WAS ON. WE WERE TOLD ONE CYLINDER WAS MISFIRING. WE TOOK IT TO BERTERA IN WESTFIELD FOR SERVICE. THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND ALSO SAID ONE CYLINDER WAS MISFIRING. THEY ALSO RECOMMENDED A TUNE-UP. TOTAL REPAIRS WERE $369. THEY ALSO RECOMMENDED "A GOOD RUN OF 150 MILES TO CLEAN OUT THE CARBON BUILD UP FROM THE MISS FIRING BEFORE GETTING IT INSPECTED AGAIN. WITHIN 3 WEEKS THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON. THE CAR WAS RETURNED FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICE MAY 21, 2007. FINAL DIAGNOSIS TOOK UNTIL MAY 24. PROBLEM WAS CYLINDER 1 VALVE BURNT AND CRACKED. THE FINAL COST TO REPLACE THE HEADS ON THIS ENGINE WAS $3395.95. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE $369 FOR THE TUNE-UP ON A BAD ENGINE. WHEN WE ASKED FOR SOME FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION FOR THE TUNE-UP I RECEIVED A LECTURE ON AUTO REPAIR IS NOT AN EXACT SCIENCE. IN CLOSING, WE KEEP OUR VEHICLES FOR 10 YEARS, AND GET 140,000-160,000 MILES, THEREFORE WE TAKE CARE OF OUR VEHICLES WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT MECHANICAL VIGILANCE ON OUR PART WILL GUARANTEE THEY'RE LONGEVITY. THIS JEEP HAS 74,700 MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES AND A RUINED ENGINE. TO US THIS IS A SERIOUS FAILURE IN QUALITY.

THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER TO INQUIRE ABOUT A RECALL RELATED TO THE UPPER BALL JOINTS AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE REPAIRS WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $900. I HAVE A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY WITH 95,000 MILES ON IT AND THE UPPER BALL JOINT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BROKE IN HALF TODAY WHILE I WAS PULLING OUT OF A FILLING STATION. THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR WHO ALSO OWNS A GARAGE STATED THAT HE HAD NEVER SEEN ONE OF THESE BREAK LIKE THIS ONE DID. I WAS LUCKY THAT I WAS ONLY GOING 2 MILES AN HOUR WHEN IT BROKE BECAUSE IF I HAD BEEN GOING FASTER, I WOULD HAVE WRECKED THE VEHICLE. MY JEEP HAS NEVER BEEN OFF-ROAD SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. I'M HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE DOOR LOCKS, AT FIRST I STARTED HEARING A BUZZING NOISE WHEN I WOULD PUSH THE BUTTON TO LOCK THE DOORS, NOW THE LOCK DOES NOT COME UP AT ALL EVEN WHEN USING THE KEY CHAIN OPENER.
