I WANT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO GET THE RECALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG FIXED. I WAS TOLD BY ADAM SAMUALS CHRYSLER IN ARANSAS PASS, TEXAS, THAT THE PART IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE?????? SO, I "DID" HAVE THE "REAR STRUCTURE REINFORCEMENT" DONE ALREADY. AND IT WAS AT THAT TIME THAT THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PART FOR THE AIR BAG RECALL WAS UNAVAILABLE ON THE 2003 JEEP I HAVE. ABSURD! I ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY DRIVER SEAT ASSEMBLY. I CANNOT MAKE THE BACK OF MY SEAT GO UP OR DOWN, WHICH, DEPENDING ON WHO DRIVES THE JEEP, IS NOW A PROBLEM. THE COST TO REPLACE THE SEAT ASSEMBLY, WITH LABOR, IS ABOUT $500.00! ABSURD! CAN YOU HELP ME? I HAVE TAKEN SUCH EXCELLENT CARE OF MY JEEP SINCE PURCHASING IT IN 2005, USED, AT DON JOHNSON MOTORS IN BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS. I HAVE REPLACE MOST SMALL PARTS WHEN NEEDED AND HAVE MY OIL CHANGES DONE EVERY 3,000 MILES. I CANNOT AFFORD A NEWER VEHICLE AT THIS, OR IN THE NEAR FUTURE FOR THAT MATTER EITHER. MY AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND THE DEALER SAID IT NEEDS A CONTROL MODULE THAT IS ON RECALL. MY STATE INSPECTION STICKER IS RUN OUT AND I CANT GET IT INSPECTED WITH LIGHT ON SO I CANT DRIVE IT. IVE BEEN WAITING A WHILE WITH NO PROGRESS. IS THERE A EXPECTED DATE FOR PARTS OR IS THERE A BUY BACK PROGRAM OR RENTAL CAR PROGRAM?

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V085000 (SUSPENSION). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A LIGHT POLE AND A TREE. NEITHER OF THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE POLICE AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WERE NOTIFIED. THE DRIVER SUFFERED A HEAD CONCUSSION AND NINE FRACTURED RIBS, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

WHEN GETTING GAS, THE OVERFLOW DID NOT REGISTER AND A BUNCH OF GAS SPILLED OUT EVERYWHERE. ABOUT A WEEK AGO, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ERROR CODE LISTED THE EVAP LEAK WHICH INCLUDES GAS FUMES LEAKING OUT. THE ERROR CODE ALSO SAYS IT COULD BE AN ISSUE WITH THE GAS TANK NECK NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THIS PROVES THE GAS TANK NECK IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THIS GAS OVERSPILL EVERY WHERE IS A NASTY SAFETY HAZARD! A WARRANTY EXTENSION WAS RELEASED ON CERTAIN WRANGLER MODELS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ASAP! *TR

ON MARCH 11, 2015 THE LOCAL DEALER INSTALLED RECALL CAMPAIGN (M35) 'SUPPLEMENTAL JUMPER HARNESS TO THE AIRBAG MODULE CONTROL'. WHEN UNIT WAS READY FOR PICKUP I NOTICED MY 'WARNING AIRBAG LIGHT' ON, I ASK WHY, THEIR ANSWERS WERE "THAT LIGHT WAS ALREADY ON" AND "IF YOU NEED FURTHER SERVICE WE NEED AUTHORIZATION FROM CHRYSLER". RESCHEDULED ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO RESOLVE THE ISSUED AND/OR REMOVAL OF THE PART/ALTERATION TO MY VEHICLE ON 25 MARCH, 2015. AGAIN THEY DENIED SERVICE DUE TO CHRYSLER DENIAL TO REMOVE THE PREVIOUS PART. CHRYSLER BASED THEIR DECISION IS "SAFETY REASONS", MY QUESTION HOW CAN THAT BE A SAFETY REASON IF MY VEHICLE WAS IN PERFECT CONDITIONS BEFORE INSTALLATION OF SUCH 'RECALL'. NOW IT'S A SAFETY REASON. AGAIN DUE TO THE FACT AFTER INSTALLATION OF PART, I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY "AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON". *TR
ON MARCH 2015 DUE TO A RECALL M35 (ORC FILTER CIRCUIT) FOR AIRBAGS WAS INSTALLED ON MY VEHICLE. AFTER INSTALLATION MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON (MY JEEP NEVER, NEVER HAS ISSUES WITH AIRBAGS UNTIL THEY INSTALLED PART. RECENTLY I RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL FROM FCA R06 (OCCUPANT RESTRAIN MODULE) DUE TO INSTALLATION OF M35 ORC FILTER CIRCUIT TO THE AIRBAG MODULE. ALSO THERE IS A REVISION DATED MAY 2016 TO REMOVE RECALL M35 (ORC FILTER CIRCUIT MODULE) AND REPLACE AIRBAGS CONTROL MODULE WITH FRONT IMPACT SENSORS. I ONLY TOOK VEHICLE FOR EXTRA SAFETY MEASUREMENTS. AND DUE TO INSTALLATION OF AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE FILTER CIRCUIT MY AIRBAGS SYSTEM GOT AFFECTED/DAMAGE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE SLID ON ICE AND CRASHED INTO A TRAFFIC SIGN, A FENCE AND A TELEPHONE POLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND IT WAS UNKNOWN IF ANY INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE LOT AND DEEMED COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V527000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT REGARDING THE N46 REAR STRUCTURAL REINFORCEMENT RECALL AFFECTING MY JEEP LIBERTY VEHICLE. I RECEIVED A FIRST RECALL NOTICE IN EARLY JANUARY 2014 AND THE RECALL CENTER TOLD ME THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING IN MY CAR TO TEMPE CHRYSLER JEEP ON MARCH 5, 2015 TO HAVE THE OEM TRAILER HITCH INSTALLED. AFTER AN HOUR WAIT THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO INSTALL IT BECAUSE THE 'WELL NUTS RUSTED OFF' AND THAT REPAIRS (AT CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE) ARE NEEDED BEFORE INSTALLATION CAN BE PERFORMED. THE DEALERSHIP GAVE ME A SERVICE PROCEDURE FORM TO SIGN INDICATING THAT INSPECTION REVEALED DAMAGE OR DETERIORATION NEAR THE HITCH ATTACHMENT POINTS ARE INCAPABLE OF SUPPORTING THE PROPER INSTALLATION AND UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE SAFETY RECALL REPAIR. I BOUGHT THIS PRE-OWNED VEHICLE FROM EARNHARDT CHRYSLER IN CHANDLER, ARIZONA ON AUGUST 2011 AND WAS UNAWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND ALSO THE DETERIORATION AND RUST ON THE UNDER BODY OF MY VEHICLE. I FIND IT UNFAIR THAT THE DEALER IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME TO DO A REQUIRED SAFETY REPAIR. IF THERE IS RUST IT WAS THERE WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT THE PART NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR SAFETY REASONS BUT CHRYSLER SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO FIX THIS EVEN IF THEY HAVE TO FIX OTHER PARTS AS WELL DUE TO THE DEFECT. NHTSA REF. #[XXX]. ON MARCH 3, 2015 I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET AND IT HAS A SEMI-STEEP DECLINE AND MY BRAKES LOCKED UP GOING DOWN. I PUMPED MY BRAKES AND HAD MY BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BOARD. MY JEEP LIBERTY FAILED TO STOP SENDING ME THROUGH AN INTERSECTION THROUGH A SMALL OPEN FIELD AND OVER A SMALL EMBANKMENT LANDING ON THE ROOF OF MY JEEP. I GOT A RECALL LETTER FRO MY JEEP LIBERTY 2003, TO ARRIGO CHRYSLER, 6500 OKEECHOBEE BLVD. WEST PALM BEACH, FL I GOT A RECALL ON MY AIR BAG. I TOLD THE SERVICES MANAGER THAT MY AIR CONDITION WAS NOT BLOW COLD. I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 2 HOURS. WHEN THE SERVICES MANAGER TOLD ME MY JEEP WAS READY. I WHEN TO PICKUP MY JEEP, AND GOT A BILL FOR $249.00 FOR RECHARGING MY AIR CONDITION. WHEN I GOT IN MY JEEP, AND TRUN ON MY AIR CONDITION, IT WAS WORRY THEN IT WAS WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN. I TOOK MY JEEP BACK TO THE SERVICES MANAGER AND TOLD HIM MY AIR CONDITION WAS NOT WORKING. HE TOLD ME IT HAD TO RUN BEFORE MY AIR CONDITION WOULD GET COLD.WHEN I GOT HOME MY AIR CONDITION STILL DIDN'T WORK AND CALL THE SERVICES MANAGER FOR A WEEK WITHOUT A RETURN CALL. I JUST MOVE TO FLORIDA IN JANUARY OF 2015, ON THE 12TH OF THAT MONTH, I WAS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL AND HAD HEART SURGEON. I ON DISABITY AND DON'T HAVE MONEY FOR SERVICES NOT RECEIVED.YOU CAN CHECK ON ALL MY SERVICES , DONE ON MY JEEP, IN DENVER, CO. AND SEE I ALWAYS PAID MY BILL FOR GOOD SERVICES. TURNED LEFT OUT OF THE DOCTORS OFFICE, DROVE APPROXIMATELY 50 YARDS AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP AT THE STOP SIGN (MAKING A RIGHT). THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE, HOWEVER, BEGAN ACCELERATING AND DESPITE APPLYING EXTREME PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE, CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD WHILE THE ENGINE ACCELERATED FASTER. I ULTIMATELY ENDED UP THROWING IT INTO PARK AND THEN TURNING OFF THE IGNITION TO KILL THE ACCELERATING ENGINE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE RPM WAS, BUT IT WAS LOUD! THIS ALSO HAPPENED 2 WEEKS AGO (FIRST TIME - VERY COLD MORNING) AND I ENDED UP THROWING IT INTO PARK AND TURNING OFF THE KEY LIKE TODAY. TODAYS TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 40 DEGREES. FYI - I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND HAD SLIGHTLY TURNED THE WHEEL. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, I BEGAN DOUBTING THAT THIS HAD EVEN HAPPENED. IN HINDSIGHT, DESPITE SEVERAL BLOGS ON THE INTERNET, I AM ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE THAT I DID NOT PUSH DOWN ON BOTH THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE AT THE SAME TIME. AFTER TODAYS INCIDENT, I IMMEDIATELY CALLED OUR LOCAL CAR DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND THEN ATTEMPTED TO RECREATE WHAT HAPPENED. UNDER VARIOUS SCENARIOS I BUMPED THE STEERING WHEEL CRUISE CONTROL BUTTONS (WHILE STOPPED, WHILE STOPPING, WHILE ACCELERATING) BUT COULD NOT CAUSE THE RUNAWAY ACCELERATION TO REPEAT ITSELF. AS OF NOV 7, 2015 THIS REPAIR HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED AND I HAVE NOT HAVE ANY CONTACT FROM THE MANUFACTURER. I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY 19 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHO IS THE PRIMARY OPERATOR OF THIS JEEP.
