MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW HAS FALLEN DOWN AND IT WILL COST ABOUT $400 TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THIS IS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE WINDOW REGULATOR. I HAVE READ THAT CHRYSLER USED A CHEAP PLASTIC CLIP IN ITS ASSEMBLY. THIS IS THE 2ND WINDOW THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. IN SEARCHING THE INTERNET THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM, MOST OF THE PROBLEMS ARE IN THE 2004 MODEL. JEEP REALLY SHOULD DO A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. I ONLY HAVE 36,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND THESE PROBLEMS SHOULD BE PAID FOR BY JEEP CHRYSLER. I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE THE OTHER DAY IN POURING DOWN RAIN WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE WINDOW DROPPED DOWN. I STOPPED MY CAR AND TRIED TO PULL IT UP, BUT IF FELL DOWN TOO FAR. THE INSIDE OF MY CAR GOT VERY WET BECAUSE OF THIS AND I HAD TO RETURN HOME. I THEN TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. IT IS STILL THERE, SO I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A CAR FOR 4 DAYS. AS I HAVE SAID THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER JEEP WON'T DO A THING ABOUT IT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2004 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHOOK. THE AXLE FRACTURED AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE RETAINING WALL. THE VEHICLE SPUN COUNTER CLOCKWISE AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STOPPED SPINNING AND FACED ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE MOVED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED HEAD INJURIES AND THE CONTACT'S CHILDREN WHO WERE IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE VEHICLE RECEIVED FACIAL, ARM, BACK, HEAD, AND EYE INJURIES. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED, BUT NOT TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 156,280. ....UPDATED 01/13/16 *BF *TR
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE THE ENGINE CUT OFF. AFTER TOWING CAR TO DEALERSHIP, THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED IGNITION DEFECT AND THE IGNITION WAS REBUILT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS FAILED TO LOCK FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,870.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO AN EMBANKMENT. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MILD INJURIES TO HIS LEFT WAIST, BUT DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V085000 (SUSPENSION). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
MY 2004 JEEP LIBERTY WAS A RECALL WHICH I TOOK TO CHRYSLER FOR TO GET REPAIR FOR FRONT AND BACK SUSPENSION AND REPAIR AND GASOLINE TANK APPARENTLY WHEN I GOT MY VEHICLE BACK OIL WAS LEAKING ALL OVER THE ENGINE I TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK 2 DAYS AGO TO BE TOLD THAT THE COULD NOT HELP ME THEIR WAS NO OIL LEAKING WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN THEY REFUSE TO ASSIST ME WITH THE PROBLEM CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME
WHILE DRIVING, THE SUNROOF MOTOR ASSEMBLY SUFFERED A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHILE CLOSING. THE PLASTIC RAIL ASSEMBLY MADE A LOUD CRACKING SOUND AND THE GLASS WEDGED FIRMLY AGAINST THE ROOF, HALF OPEN. THIS OCCURED SHORTLY AFTER MY REPLACING ALL 4 DOOR WINDOW REGULATORS (FOR THE SECOND TIME) DUE TO WHAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS NEGLIGENCE IN THE ENGINEERING DESIGN OF THE PLASTIC CARRIER ASSEMBLY THAT CANNOT SUPPORT THE LOAD OF THE WINDOW AS IT IS INTENDED TO. THE FAILURE TO PROPERLY DESIGN THESE COMPONENTS HAS LED TO THE WINDOWS FALLING INTO THE DOOR UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING, EACH TIME CAUSING AN UNNERVING DISTRACTION TO ME AS A DRIVER, AND UNNECESSARILY ENDANGERED MYSELF AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN THE VICINITY WHEN THESE EVENTS OCCURRED. IT APPEARS THERE ARE COUNTLESS INSTANCES OF THIS ISSUE BEING DESCRIBED ON LINE, AND A RECALL NEEDS TO OCCUR.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON CITY STREET, TURNING A CORNER AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH THE FRONT END SUSPENSION: CONTROL ARM SNAPPED/ DISCONNECTED FROM THE LOWER BALL JOINT. AXLE SHAFT ASSEMBLY/ CV DRIVE SHAFT BROKE. COST OF REPAIR $1500
I WAS IN ACCIDENT ON SEPT 27 AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY UNTIL THE VEHICLE STOPPED IT TOOK ABOUT 5MINS AFTER ACCIDENT THEN THERE WAS A SMELL LIKE RUBBER AND IT JUST WENT POOF DIDN'T MAKE CONTACT WITH MY FACE OR BODY. STATIONARY ON HWY 89 AND WAS FIRED FROM MY JOB FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO START THE NEXT DAY. I AM LEFT HANDED AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTACT YA'LL THANK YOU *TR
I BOUGHT A GOODYEAR TIRE FOR MY JEEP LIBERTY AND THE TIRE FAILED AND UPON INSPECTION THERE WAS A TEAR ON THE SIDE WALL OF THE TIRE WHICH WAS UNREPAIRABLE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED . THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE TIRE AND NOT FROM ROAD HAZARDS
MY REMOTE FAILED TO LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS, AND LIFTGATE DOOR. THE DOORS HAD TO BE LOCKED MANUALLY. THE LIFTGATE WINDOW WOULD NOT CLOSE AT ALL. REMOTE BATTERIES WERE REPLACED . HOWEVER, IT STILL WOULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS AND LIFTGATE. WHEN I PRESSED THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE REMOTE, THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS CAME ON.
THERE IS A RECALL ON MY CAR FOR THE GAS TANK BEING TOO CLOSE TO THE REAR BUMPER. I BROUGHT IT TO JEEP IN NELLISTON,N.Y. THEY INSTALL A TRAILER HITCH TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.THEY WORKED ON IT FOR ONE HOUR, AND THEN TOLD ME THEY CAN'T INSTALL THE TRAILER HITCH,BECAUSE THEY BROKE A HOLE TAP OFF IN ONE OF THE MOUNTING HOLES, THIS IS NOT MY FAULT, THEY WILL NOT CORRECT MY RECALL, AND THEY WILL NOT EVEN CALL ME BACK, THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. SO THEY ARE NOT GOING TO HONOR THE RECALL ON MY CAR, AS FAR AS THEY ARE CONCERNED, I CAN JUST GO AHEAD AND BURN UP IN MY CAR, IF I GET REAR ENDED,
WINDOW REGULATOR HAS FAILED ON FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW AND MANY REPORTS THIS IS DUE TO A CHEAP PLASTIC ASSEMBLY THAT SUPPORTS THE GLASS INSTEAD OF METAL.IT IS THE MANUFACTURES FAULT AS THIS FAILS FOR NO REASON.MY WINDOW WAS TILTED WHEN I GOT IN IT THIS MORNING,NO VANDALISM ,NOR STORMS.IT MAKE A WHIRRING NOISE WHEN USING THE UP BUTTON AND WENT STRAIGHT WITH THE CABLE FROM THE REGULATOR SNAKING UP THE SIDE OF THE DOOR.IT IS UP NOW BUT WITH ALL THE INFO FOUND FEELING I SHOULD NOT PAY FOR IT AND THE ISSUE JUST REPEATS ITSELF AFTER REPLACEMENT BECAUSE OF INADEQUATE EQUIPMENT. PLEASE HELP ME AND SO MANY OTHERS HAVING THE SAME EXPERIENCE. I CAN SEE HOW THIS WOULD BE CONSIDERED A DANGEROUS ON THE HIGHWAY. ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2015, I WAS ON MY WAY TO A WORKSHOP FOR MY JOB ON ROUTE 73 IN BERLIN, NEW JERSEY. I HAD STOPPED AT A LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PROCEEDED TO GO. THE CAR STALLED OUT ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD BLINKED ON AND OFF AND THE CAR SHUT COMPLETELY OFF. THEN WHITE SMOKE CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. SO AS I WAS SITTING CONTEMPLATING WHAT TO DO NEXT. I LOOKED UP AND THE DRIVER IN THE CAR NEXT TO ME STARTED YELLING THAT THERE WAS FIRE UNDERNEATH THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY EXITED THE CAR AND CROSSED THE STREET ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. WHEN I REACHED THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET. PITCH BLACK SMOKE ALONG WITH RED FLAMES BILLOWED OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. AFIRE RESCUE TRUCK ARRIVE AND IMMEDIATELY USED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO DOUSE THE FIRE. THEN, THE FIRE TRUCKS AND POLICE CAME TO FOLLOW UP. THE FIREMAN LIFT THE HOOD UP AND ALLOWED ME TO VIEW THE DAMAGE. THE BATTERY ALONG WITH OTHER ITEMS ON THE ENGINE WAS MELTED LIKE CANDLE WAX. THE CAR WAS TOWED AWAY, HOWEVER AS THE CAR WAS PLACED ON THE FLATBED OF THE TRUCK, MY TRUCK STARTED SMOKING AND FLAMES WERE SHOOTING FROM UNDER THE CAR. CAR HAS BEEN DECLARED TOTALED. THAT WAS A VERY SAD DAY FOR ME.

HEARD SOME KIND OF POP, THEN SOME GRINDING WHEN HOLDING THE BRAKE DOWN AND TURNING THE WHEEL. TOOK CAR TO MY REGULAR MECHANIC. THEY FOUND ALL 4 BALL JOINTS BOOTS PERFORATED & HANDED ME A RECALL NOTICE FOR LOWER BALL JOINTS ONLY THAT WAS FROM SEPT. 2006. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE JAN. 2006 & NEVER REC'D THIS RECALL. EVEN WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALER FOR THE FUEL TANK RECALL ON 7/11/15, THEY DIDN'T NOTIFY ME OF IT. I WENT ON MOPAROWNERCONNECT.COM & IT SHOWS THIS RECALL AS REPAIRED, WHICH OBVIOUSLY ISN'T POSSIBLE. ACCORDING TO AUDOMD.COM THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES RELATED TO THIS VEHICLE THROUGH DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS. I HAVE AN APPT. SET UP AT THE DEALER NEXT WEEK & DEPENDING ON WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT FIXING ALL THE BALL JOINTS AND CHECKING FOR OTHER SAFETY CONCERNS, I MAY BE SENDING IN ANOTHER COMPLAINT.

THERE WAS NO SMOKE VISIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS WET. THE CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AFTER SEEING THE FLAMES. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
I WAS DRIVING UP THE STREET HEARD SOMETHING LIKE A RAN OVER SOMETHING THEN JEEP CUT OFF GOT OUT TO SEE IF I RAN OVER SOMETHING BUT NOTHING WAS THERE AND JEEP WOULD NOT START BACK UP, WHAT IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY OR BUSY TRAFFIC I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT, WHICH U AM BLESSED THAT DID NOT HAPPEN, THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS CHRYSLER SHOULD NOTAKE ANYTHING THAT COULD CAUSE YOU BODILY HARM. A COMPUTER SHOULD NEVER GO OUT THAT IS DANGEROUS. I HAD TO HAVE THE JEEP TOWED TO MY HOME AND THEN TO A SHIP ON TWO DIFFERENT TIMES AN ONE TIME BACK HOME FROM THE SHOP BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE 900.00 TO REPAIR. SO I'M STUCK WITHOUT HAVING MY JEEP REPAIRED BECAUSE I'M ON A FIXED INCOME. ALSO HAVING ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WHERE CHRYSLER DID POOR WIRING., CIGARETTE LIGHTER KEEP GOING OUT, BLINKER AND RADIO WIRING IS TERRIBLE AND ONE OF THE FRONT LIGHTS. CHRYSLER YOU GOT TO DO A BETTER JOB, BECAUSE I LOVED MY JEEP, BUT VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE IT REPAIR.

THE WINDOW ACTUATOR CAME APART AND WRAPPED AROUND THE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM IN THE BACK WHERE MY TODDLER SETS, WE WERE UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. MY HUSBAND HAD TO TAKE THE DOOR PANEL APART FROM THE INSIDE AND CUT THE WIRE IN ORDER FOR THE DOOR TO BE OPENED. ALL OF MY WINDOW ACTUATORS HAVE STOPPED WORKING AND HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BALL JOINT FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.

THE REAR WINDOW ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DROPPED INTO THE DOOR TODAY. I LOOKED IT UP ONLINE AND IT APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND IT IS A COMMONLY REPORTED PROBLEM. IF IT IS SO COMMON, I HAVE TROUBLE BELIEVING THAT THEY WOULDN'T CREATE A RECALL. I GUESS JEEP IS WAITING FOR A LARGE NUMBER OF INJURIES FIRST.

THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SAFELY EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.

I JUST PURCHASED THE CAR AND FOUND THAT THE CAR HAS AN OUTSTANDING RECALL. IT IS CHRYSLER RECALL #N46 OR NHTSA #13V-252. WHICH IS RELATED TO POTENTIAL FIRE FROM REAR END COLLISION. I JUST CALLED JEEP CHRYSLER AT 5130 NESCONSETT HWY, PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY 11776. THEY INDICATED TO ME THAT THERE IS A 6 MONTH WAITING PERIOD IN ORDER TO GET THE CAR IN TO FIX THE RECALLED ITEM. I THINK THAT IS AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO HAVE TO WAIT TO FIX THIS POTENTIALLY DISASTROUS ISSUE. IS THIS OK? I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO GET THIS DONE MUCH SOONER AS I FEAR FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON HWY 620S APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND MY REAR END BEGAN JERKING FROM THE RIGHT TO THE LEFT AND I ALMOST ENDED UP IN THE DITCH AND I WAS VERY SCARED. RECALL L27 WAS ISSUED IN 2012 BUT JEEP WILL NOT HELP ME. I HAVE BEEN CALLING AND FOR MONTHS WITH THIS COMPLAINT AND PROBLEM I HAD BEEN HAVING BUT I WAS TOLD JEEP WOULD ONLY COVER JEEPS THAT RESIDED IN "SALT STATES". THE STATE WHERE MY JEEP WAS BUILT/MADE AT 3. WHAT YEAR MY JEEP WAS. I SPOKE WITH 2 REPRESENTATIVES THAT COULD NOT TELL ME WHAT STATE MY JEEP WAS BUILT/MADE IN WITH MY VIN #. I FOUND THIS STRANGE, THEY SHOULD KNOW THIS INFORMATION. THE 3RD PERSON [XXX] ON MAY 2, 2015 WAS ABLE TO INFORM ME MY JEEP WAS BUILT IN TOLDEO, OHIO AND I WAS REFERRED TO ANOTHER # [XXX]. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND WAS NOTIFIED BY A FRIEND WHO OWNS AN IDENTICAL VEHICLE THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN IN FORCE FOR A POTENTIAL FUEL LEAK PROBLEM. I CHECKED AND THE VEHICLE HAS NO REMEDY FOR THIS SCENARIO. *TR

THERE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT. I'M JUST HAVING A VERY HARD (IMPOSSIBLE) TIME GETTING ANY JEEP DEALER TO PERFORM THE SAFETY RECALL N46 (INSTALLING TRAILER HITCH ON THE BACK OF JEEP TO PREVENT FIRES/EXPLOSIONS IN A COLLISION). EVERY JEEP DEALER KEEPS TELLING ME THE PARTS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. *TR
MY HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF FOR ABOUT 5-7 SECONDS BEFORE COMING BACK ON AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DOING 55MPH IN A VERY DARK AREA AND MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD AS THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND. THIS WAS QUITE SCARY AS I HAD MY 6 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR WITH ME. THE FOLLOWING MORNING MY HEADLIGHTS TURNED ON AND OFF AGAIN 2 TIMES QUICKLY IN A ROW WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY TRAVELING AT 70 MPH. AGAIN MY DAUGHTER WAS WITH ME ON MY WAY TO DAYCARE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS I CANNOT SEE THE ROAD AND IT ALSO APPEARS AS IF I AM FLASHING MY LIGHTS AT OTHER DRIVERS. HOPEFULLY WHEN I TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THIS WEEK IT CAN BE RESOLVED BUT JUDGING ON THE COMPLAINTS HERE IF I CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THEY CAN'T FIX IT. CHRYSLER SENT ME A LETTER INFORMING ME OF RECALL N46. I AM SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR AN OEM HITCH THAT I HAD INSTALLED PRIOR TO THE RECALL. I HAVE SPOKEN TO CHRYSLER MANY TIMES OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS AND FOLLOWED THEIR INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSPECTION AND SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTATION FOR THE OEM HITCH. I HAVE A CASE # FROM CHRYSLER. DESPITE REPEATED PROMISES TO CALL ME AND /OR PROCESS THE REFUND, I HAVE HAD NO CONTACT FROM CHRYSLER. I WAS RECENTLY IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE A TRUCK DRIVING ERRATICALLY SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES CAUSING A 3 CAR PILE UP, IN WHICH I WAS CAUSED TO REAR END THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AT ABOUT 35 MILES PER HOUR. THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY CAUSING MY FACE/HEAD / CHEST TO HIT THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO CAUSING SEVERE NECK PAIN AND OTHER INJURY. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO PURSE THE MANUFACTURER FOR THE DEFECT. MY JEEP WAS GREAT UNTIL 125,000 MILES AND WE'LL HERE WE GO... FIRST I THOUGHT MY BRAKES WERE GOING OUT AND HAD THE PADS REPLACED, THEN THEY STARTED "STICKING" OR SO I THOUGHT, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL GOING 65MPH. THE BRAKES STILL ARE NOT SAFE IN MY OPINION AFTER EVERY PART WAS REPLACED. I JUST HAD THE HOSES TO THE STEERING PUMP REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS, ONLY NOW MY ENGINE IS IDLING AT 1200 RPMS IN PARK? PLEASE HELP.. $1000 LATER AND I'M NO BETTER OFF. THANKS. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY SMOKING UNDER THE HOOD AND EMITS A STRONG SMELL OF BRAKE FLUID. ALSO IT STRUGGLES TO GET UP HILLS WITH RPMS AT 2500 GOING ONLY 55MPH. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS INCLUDING TODAY, MY 2004 JEEP LIBERTY HAS FALLEN OUT OF GEAR. PREVIOUSLY I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DOING ABOUT 60 MPH AND THE CAR SWITCHED FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN. TODAY THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT I WAS LEAVING WAWA TO GET COFFEE AND ON MY WAY TO WORK, AT THE RED LIGHT THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE, FOOT ON BRAKE AS ONE WOULD NORMALLY DO. WHEN THE LIGHT SWITCHED TO GREEN I LIGHTLY TAPPED THE ACCELERATOR/GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR SAT THERE FOR A MOMENT WITHOUT MOVING AGAIN AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. SO I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME THE CAR STARTED TO REVERSE, AS THE GEAR SHIFT CLEARLY SHOWED THAT I WAS AGAIN IN DRIVE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, THANK GOD BOTH TIMES THIS HAS OCCURRED THAT NO OTHER VEHICLE WAS BEHIND ME OR ELSE THEY MAY HAVE BEEN A FATAL ACCIDENT ESPECIALLY WHEN I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE READ ONLINE NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS WHERE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER JEEP OWNERS I AM VERY DISSATISFIED THAT IT SEEMS THERE WAS NO RECALL WITH THIS ISSUE AS FAR AS MY RESEARCH SHOWS.
