My jeep liberty's check engine light has come on I've done every thing my obd2 scanner has said is wrong but this piece of [XXX] will not come outta limp mode so there for the rpms will not go over 2500 rpms and id like to know [XXX] is causing it to do that I've seen videos on YouTube that says it Bent valves and I need to replace with an upgraded version but I just bought this [XXX] thing and only have it maybe 2 months before it started doing this [XXX] and just paid God [XXX] $3,500 for this [XXX] God [XXX] piece of [XXX]some one please help before I put a rag in the gas tank and light that [XXX] on fire I'm [XXX] sick and tired of always getting the [XXX] end of the stick when it comes to me getting vehicles. WHILE DRIVING WOULD RUN ROUGH, STALL OUT WHILE STOPPED, STEPPING ON GAS BOGS DOWN THE ENGINE MAKING THE VEHICLE NOT MOVE ON HIGHWAY, STREET DRIVING, TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT. REPLACED ALL FUEL INJECTORS FUEL PUMP, CHARCOAL CANISTER, PLUGS AND COILS, STILL A PROBLEM TOOK TO GARAGE STATED A RECALL ON CYLINDER HEADS. *TR

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. RUNNING ROUGH NOT IDLING CORRECTLY. THERE IS NO POWER ON ACCELERATION, VIBRATES AND SMOKES. I TOOK IT TO TIRES PLUS 1ST TIME, COST ME $800 FOR DIAGNOSIS, COMPRESSION TESTS AND REPAIRS THEY SAY NEEDED TO BE DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ABOUT A MONTH LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. TOOK JEEP BACK AND WAS TOLD THIS TIME THAT THE VALUE(S) ARE NOT SEATING. TOLD TO TAKE IT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER DUE TO A SAFETY ISSUE. I RESEARCHED ON WEBSITES AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR 2004 - 2011 JEEP LIBERTY AS WELL AS DODGES. WHY HAVE THEY NOT ISSUED A SAFETY RECALL ON THIS? THE ROCKER ARMS ARE POPPING OUT AND CAUSING HAVOC IN THE ENGINE. DEALER SAYS NO RECALL. CHRYSLER YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WHY NOT FIX IT!! THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE!!
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, ROUGH IDLE, NO POWER ON ACCELERATION, VIBRATES, BURNS GAS, SMOKES.. HAD A COMPRESSION TEST DONE AND AT THE 3RD CYLINDER HAS A COMPRESSION OF 65.. DID SOME RESEARCH ON THIS AFTER WASTING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS AND IT NEEDS NEW VALVES AND ROCKER ARM. UPON DOING RESEARCH I FOUND PUT THAT JEEPS FROM THE YEAR 2001 ON UP TO 2012 ARE KNOWN FOR THIS PROBLEM! WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN RECALLED? THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE NOT TO MENTION VERY COSTLY!!

THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SAFELY EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT THE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE REMEDY TO INSTALL A TRAILER HITCH WAS INADEQUATE AND WOULD NOT IMPROVE THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE FAST LANE GOING ABOUT 70 MPH AND WE LOSE ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE HAD TO SWERVE ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE HIGHWAY TO GET ON THE SHOULDER! ITS A MIRACLE WE DIDN'T WRECK! VEHICLE WOULDN'T START HAD NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED, CHECKED THE OIL AND WAS FULL JUST GOT IT CHANGED 3 WEEKS PRIOR AT THE DEALERSHIP. TOWED IT TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID THE ENGINE WAS DONE! HAD A WARRANTY FOR 6 MONTHS AND 2 WEEKS AFTER THIS EXPIRED IS WHEN THIS OCCURRED! HAVE COMPLAINED EVERYWHERE I CAN AND I GET TOLD THIS HAS NEVER BEEN HEARD OF WELL ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GOOGLE THIS ENGINE AND THE COMPLAINTS ARE ENDLESS! THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD JUST BEFORE THE CAR BECAME FILLED WITH SMOKE AND CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED SMOKE INHALATION HOWEVER, THERE WERE NO ADDITIONAL INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED AS DESTROYED. THE FIRE ORIGINATED FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
THREE WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE USED, THE CAR BEGAN HICCUPPING OR LURCHING WHILE IDLING, AND HAD DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING FROM SECOND TO FIRST GEAR. MECHANIC CHECKED ERROR MESSAGE INDICATING CYLINDER MISS FIRE AND FOUND THAT ALL SPARK PLUGS AND ONE COIL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PROBLEM CONTINUED AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. SAME MECHANIC CHECKED ERROR MESSAGE INDICATING CYLINDER MISS FIRE, AND FOUND RUBBER GASKET ON COOLANT TANK MANGLED CAUSING COOLANT TO SPLATTERED OVER ENGINE. REPLACED CAP. I TOOK A 1200 HIGHWAY TRIP WITH NO PROBLEM. AFTER I RETURNED AND RESUMED LOW SPEED STOP AND GO DRIVING, THE PROBLEM RESUMED. THIS TIME, THE CHECK ENGINE ALSO INDICATED CYLINDER MISFIRE, BUT A HOSE EXITING COOLANT TANK WAS RUPTURED LEAKING COOLANT DIRECTLY ON TO THE SAME CYLINDER THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. THINKING WE HAD FINALLY SOLVED THE PROBLEM, THE HOSE WAS REPLACED, THE CYLINDER REMOVED AND CLEANED, BUT LEAKAGE UNDER CAR AND SPLATTERED OVER ENGINE CONTINUED. CAR IS LURCHING ESPECIALLY WHEN ACCELERATING UPHILL, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS FLASHING ON AND OFF. THERE IS A HISSING NOISE AFTER I TURN OFF THE ENGINE. MY LICENSE PLATE HAS EXPIRED AND I CAN'T RE-NEW UNTIL MY EXHAUST IS TESTED, WHICH THEY WILL NOT DO IF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SENT AN INVESTIGATOR TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE INSPECTOR DETERMINED THERE WAS NOT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 04V337000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) THAT COULD HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT OF THE OUTSTANDING RECALLS WHICH DID NOT INCLUDE THE ENGINE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

IN 2012 MY JEEP STARTED BUCKING AND JERKING,IDLE SURGING, STALLING AND HAD. HESITATION WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE, IT ALSO HAD SUDDEN SURGES IN CAR'S SPEED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ALWAYS ON AND AT TIMES IT FELT LIKE THE BACK WHEELS WOULD SPIN BEFORE THE CAR GOT TRACTION. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE, A NEW ENGINE WAS PUT IN IN FEB 2012 AND MY CAR HAS NEVER RUN RIGHT SINCE. I AM NOW ON MY SECOND NEW MOTOR AND STILL AM HAVING SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE CAR. EVERYTIME ONE THING IS FIXED ANOTHER THING GOES WRONG AND IT IS A NEVER ENDING CYCLE. I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER JEEP PRODUCT AGAIN.
