AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE. I'M WORRIED THE AIRBAG WILL GO OFF WHILE DRIVING OR WHILE STABLE AND CAUSE INJURY
ON FEBRUARY 1, 2019 AROUND 11:40PM, I WAS DRIVING WITH MY JEEP'S SEAT HEATER ON. APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES LATER I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. I REACHED AROUND TO FEEL MY COAT WAS EXTREMELY HOT, SO I GRABBED A FROZEN BOTTLE OF WATER FROM MY LUNCH BAG AND PLACED IT BETWEEN ME AND MY SEAT. NOT THINKING THAT MY SEAT WAS CATCHING FIRE. WHEN I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT I NOTICED A HOLE IN MY SEAT COVER. I PULLED SEAT COVER OFF AND SAW THE SCORCH MARKS ON MY SEAT. ALSO A BURN MARK ON BACK OF COAT. WHEN I GOT HOME I CHECKED MY BACK AND HAD A SMALL BURN MARK.
DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT MOST OF THE TIME CANNOT LATCH CLOSE AND AT TIMES IT WILL UNLOCK WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE. MILEAGE 48000 MILES
FRONT DRIVESHAFT IS VIBRATING AND IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT.
REAR CONTROL ARM RUSTED
HEATER BLOWER RESISTOR KEEPS BURNING OUT. REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES. PLEASE ISSUE RECALL!!!
HERE IS THE PROBLEM, WILL NOT SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE REPLACEMENT REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS. THIS IS A FOLLOW UP COMPLAINT TO THE ONE I FILED ON 4-18-18, ID# 11120806.ON 1-4-19 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM DEBBIE OF SPECIALTY PARTS ABOUT THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT. DIFFERENT FROM THE FIRST REPRESENTATIVE NOT KNOWING WHY THE DEALER WANTED A INSPECTION BEFORE ORDERING THE CONTROL ARMS, DEBBIE STATED THAT WAS A CORPORATE DECISION. ( YOU WOULD THINK THAT HAVING DEALT WITH THIS RECALL IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER OVER THE PAST SEVEN YEARS THEY COULD GET THIS STRAIGHT.) HER REASONING WAS THAT FCA HAD TO INSPECT MY VEHICLE AND REPLACE REQUIRED PARTS BEFORE THEY COULD PUT ON THE NEW LOWER CONTROL ARMS. I ASKED WHAT PARTS REQUIRED INSPECTION AND SHE SAID MY SHOCKS .I TOLD HER THOSE DON'T ATTACH TO THE CONTRO[ ARM SHE THEN SAID THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHECK MY CONTROL ARMS AND CHECK THE VIN TO VERIFY I HAD NOT GONE TO A JUNK YARD AND REPLACED THEM MYSELF. I ASKED HER IF SHE KNEW WHAT THE CONTROL ARMS WERE AND SHE STATED SHE WAS NOT A TECH. SHE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT TELL THEIR CUSTOMERS ALL THEY HAVE TO DO TO A VEHICLE IN A RECALL. NHTSA, I WOULD THINK IF THEY STATE THAT THEY DO NOT TELL ALL THAT THEY DO, THEY MAY NOT HAVE TOLD YOU ALL THE ISSUES EITHER. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO INTERPRET THIS CONVERSATION OTHER THAN, "WE NEED TO INSPECT YOUR VEHICLE AND REPLACE PARTS AT YOUR EXPENSE TO MINIMIZE DAMAGE TO OUR BOTTOM LINE." I ASKED TO SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR AND DEBBIE STATE SHE DID NOT HAVE ONE, NO ONE ABOVE HER. I ENDED THE CALL.I HAVE RECEIVED THE SECOND RECALL CARD. AGAIN IT STATES TO SCHEDULE YOUR FREE REPAIR. THEY WILL NOT DO IT. ALL I WANT FROM FCA IS WHAT THEY STATED THEY WOULD DO. REPLACE BOTH REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS. STOP PLAYING GAMES.
FRONT RIGHT SPINDLE WENT BAD VERY EARLY IN LIFE OF CAR, AND BAR LINKAGE WITH IT. EXPENSIVE FIX. PLEASE ISSUE RECALL!!!!
IGNITION SWITCH NOT TURNING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO CRANK VEHICLE. I HAD RECENTLY DROVE MY VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT MY IGNITION SWITCH MADE A LOUDER NOISE WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO TURN OVER THE VEHICLE. NOW IT'S NOT WORKING AT ALL.
WHILE FILLING UP THE GAS TANK, THE PUMP AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF IS TRIGGERED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE TANK IS FULL AND AS A RESULT, GAS ENDS UP SPEWING BACK OUT OF THE TANK RUNS DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE TO THE GROUND CREATING A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. IT SEEMS LIKE THE GAS TANK IS UNABLE TO VENT THE AIR OUT QUICKLY ENOUGH SO THE GAS COMES BACK OUT OF THE TANK FILL TUBE.
THE STEERING GOT HARD AND FELT LIKE THE BALL JOINT ON THE CONTROL ARMS LOCK UP ; THE DOOR LOCKS CYCLE CONTINUOUSLY AND NOW DRIVER DOOR, LEFT REAR PASSENGER DOOR AND BACK TAILGATE WILL NOT OPEN, HORN WILL NOT BLOW, RADIO WILL NOT WORK, AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WON'T WORK. THE STEERING PROBLEMS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS AND WHEN MAKING TURNS OF ANY KIND THE SLIGHTEST MOVEMENT OF THE STEERING WHEEL WILL CAR IS MOVING MAKES ERRATIC NAVIGATION IN ANYTHING OTHER THAN A STRAIGHT PATH. THE DOOR LOCKS CYCLE ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING AND ALSO NOT MOVING AND WITHOUT THE CAR BEING STARTED AND IS AS REST WITHOUT KEY INSERTED IN THE IGNITION CYLINDER. I AM FEARFUL FOR MY GRAND CHILDREN TO RIDE IN THE CAR WITH ME AND VERY CONCERNED OF A FAILURE THAT MAY JEOPARDIZE THEIR SAFETY.

THE FRONT RIGHT AND LEFT SUSPENSION UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS BROKE. I WAS BACKING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I NOTICED THE REAR ONES ARE UNDER RECALL BUT NOT THE FRONT, NHTSA #18V-278. I HAD IT TOWED TO A AUTO SHOP AND THEY WANT $2600 TO REPAIR.
ALL THE LIGHTS STAY ON AND WONT GO OUT THE WINDOW WILL NOT GO DOWN OR UP
WHEN BREAKING ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN DRIVE PAVEMENT ALL FOUR TIRES LOCK UP. I HAVE GONE THROUGH NUMEROUS INTERSECTIONS AND STOP SIGNS AND BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO NOT HIT ANYONE. I NOW HAVE TO APPROACH STOP SIGNS AND LIGHTS THAT HAVE ANY INCLINE BY PUMPING MY BREAKS AND COMING TO A CRAWL. THIS NEVER HAPPENED WITH MY 2003 AND IT DIDNT HAPPEN WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE JEEP. SINCE I LIVE IN MAINE WHERE WINTERS ARE BAD IT IS VERY TROUBLING AND STRESSFUL.

THE SEAT BELT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WITH A CHIME EACH TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MORE FREQUENTLY OVER THE PAST THREE MONTHS. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND HAD NOT ISSUED ANY SEAT BELT RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
U38 NHTSA RECALL # 18V-278 NO DEALER WITHIN 100 MILES WILL HONOR THE RECALL. SAID CAN'T GET PARTS OR NOT AVAILABLE FOR SCHEDULING OR THEY DIDN'T SELL ME THE CAR. OR THEY WANT TO CHARGE FOR THE REPAIR.
THIS CONCERNS RECALL U38?NHTSA 18V-278 THAT SAYS FCA WILL REPLACE BOTH REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS. DOES NOT SEEM TO BE THAT STRAIGHT FORWARD. THE ATTACHED FILE IS THE EMAIL RECEIVED FROM FCA AND MY ORIGINAL QUESTIONS POSTED TO THEM. I DO NOT HAVE A COPY, BUT I REPLIED TO FCA EMAIL ASKING WHOSE RECALL IS IT, FCA OR THEIR DEALERS? THEY DID NOT ADDRESS WHY DIFFERENT DEALERS ARE GIVING DIFFERENT INFOMATION. I ALSO ASKED WHAT IS THE DEALER GOING TO INSPECT AS IT APPEARS THAT THE ARMS ARE CORRODING FROM THE INSIDE OUT. ACCORDING TO THE RECALL PAPER WORK, FCA SAYS THE ARMS MUST BE REPLACED. WHY SHOULD I BE REQUIRED TO DO TWO DEALER VISITS BECAUSE THE DEALER WANTS IT THAT WAY. FCA IS NOT TAKING OWNERSHIP OF THE RECALL AND IS ALLOWING DIFFERENT DEALERS TO TREAT CUSTOMERS IN VERY DIFFERENT WAYS, WHICH AMOUNTS TO NO ONE IS HOOERING THE RECALL AS PRINTED.
THE NHTSA REQUIRED JEEP TO ISSUE A RECALL ON FRACTURED REAR CONTROL ARMS THAT COULD CAUSE REDUCED VEHICLE CONTROL AND CAUSE A CRASH. I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE JULY 11 TO SCHEDULE MY VEHICLE FOR REPAIR WITH FRIENDSHIP JEEP IN BRISTOL, TN. THEY SAY THEY CANNOT GET THE PARTS BECAUSE JEEP IS ONLY ALLOWING THEM TO ORDER 4-5 AT A TIME AND THEN THEY BACK ORDER THEM. WHEN I CALLED THE RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER, THEY ARE SAYING MOPAR HAS THEM ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. IT SEEMS NEITHER JEEP OR MOPAR CARE MUCH ABOUT DRIVER SAFETY. HOW ARE CONSUMERS SUPPOSED TO GET THEIR RECALLED VEHICLES REPAIRED WHEN PARTS AREN'T AVAILABLE?
WHILE TURNING LEFT IN A PARKING LOT AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED THE PASSENGER SIDE LOWER BALL JOINT FAILED AND CAME APART. THE WHEEL PIVOTED OUT FROM THE VEHICLE DROPPING THAT CORNER TO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MY SERVICE PROVIDER AND UPON INSPECTION THE OTHER BALL JOINT WAS FOUND TO BE CRACK AND REQUIRING REPLACEMENT AS WELL. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD REGULAR MAINTENANCE PREFORMED BY DEALERS OVER ITS LIFE. THE
JEEP LIBERTY WINDOW REGULATOR BRACKET FAILURE.I HAVE HAD THREE WINDOW REGULATOR BRACKET FAILURES ON MY 2005 JEEP LIBERTY MAKING THE WINDOW INOPERABLE. ONE OF THE FAILURES WAS WITHIN 60 DAYS OR REPLACEMENT. THERE IS NO POINT REPLACING THE EQUIPMENT IF IT BREAKS RIGHT AWAY. IT'S A VERY BAD DESIGN AND GOING OVER A BUMP CAN CAUSE HE WINDOW TO SUDDENLY CRASH DOWN, FORTUNATELY MINE DIDN'T BREAK. HOW IS THIS NOT A RECALL? I ONLY HAVE APPROXIMATELY 80,000 MILE SON MY JEEP.
MY CAR IS ALWAYS OVERFLOWING GAS WHEN I COMPLETE THE FUEL TANK.
MY JEEP HAS THE HEAVY DUTY COOLING FAN. WHILE DRIVING THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN BROKE INTO MULTIPLE PIECES AND DAMAGED THE RADIATOR MAKING THEN UNABLE TO DRIVE DUE TO OVERHEATING. I WAS DRIVE BOUT 15MPH IN A PARKING LOT.
TRIED TO START MY JEEP WITH PUTTING CAR KEYS IN THE IGNITION, NOTHING HAPPENED, SO SINCE I HAVE REMOTE CAR KEYS I TRIED THEM ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE STREET AND CAR DID START. SO NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO CAUSE NOW I NEED TO USE MY REMOTE CAR KEYS. IT ALSO MAKES SOME NOISES WHEN YOU BACK UP THE CAR.

A FEW WEEKS AGO I HAD FLAT TIRE. WHEN WE USED THE JACK THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE IT DID NOT LIVE IT HIGH ENOUGH TO PUT THE SPARE TIRE ON. IT LACKED ABOUT 3 INCHES OR SO. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I WOULD HAVE IN A BAD SITUATION. WE PUT THE FLAT BACK ON AND AIRED IT UP USING A NEIGHBORS AIR COMPRESSOR. I SEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND LEARNED THAT THIS PROBLEM WITH THE JACK IS NORMAL FOR THE JEEP LIBERTY. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE DEALT WITH. I HAVE NO PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE, BUT WOULD BE GLAD TO DEMONSTRATE TO ANYONE WHO WOULD WANT TO CHECK IT. THANKFULLY THIS ALL HAPPENED AT MY HOME. *TT

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,257.
GAS TANK OVERFLOWS WHEN FILLING UP GAS.
MY BRAKE LIGHTS CONTINUE TO HAVE ISSUES/NOT FUNCTION, RESULTING IN SAFETY ISSUES AND TICKETS. THIS TIME THE METAL CONNECTORS IN THE BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY HAVE MELTED PLASTIC AROUND THEM, SO IT DOES NOT CONNECT WITH THE SOCKET CONNECTORS AND THAT MEANS NO BRAKE LIGHTS. APPEARS, BASED ON THE VOLUME OF YOUTUBE REPAIR VIDEOS, THAT THIS IS A COMMON SAFETY ISSUE BUT WHEN I LOOKED AT RECALLS AND CONTACTED JEEP, IT IS NOT AN ITEM OF CONCERN. THE BRAKE LIGHTS DONT WORK, THAT SHOULD BE A CONCERN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT BECAME UNLATCHED AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. WHEN THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, IT OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 275,768.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE AIR SUSPENSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.

A FEW MINUTES LATER I WOULD BEEN ON NJ 295 TRAVELING AT 65 MPH. I DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS AN OLDER RECALL ON THIS CAR, I HAD THE WORK DONE BY AN OUTSIDE SHOP, SEE ATTACHED BILL.

The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, she heard abnormal sounds coming from the rear-end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rear upper and lower ball joints needed to be replaced. The dealer was not notified of the failure. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH AND MAKING A TURN, A GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND STOP THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE WHEEL WELL. THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM HAD EXCESSIVE CORROSION AND WAS BENT. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V085000 (SUSPENSION) BECAUSE IT WAS NOT REGISTERED IN A SALT BELT STATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,479.
DRIVERS SEAT BELT RELEASE WILL NOT LOCK SEAT BELT. BELT RELEASES WITH MOVEMENT OF DRIVER. VEHICLE HAS APPROX 77,000+ MILES AND NORMAL WEAR/TEAR SHOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED SEAT BELT TO MALFUNCTION.
THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW AND HAS LESS THAN 140,000 MILES. #1-IT HAS CORROSION ON THE OUTER BODY PANELS THAT IS STARTING TO GO INTO THE FRAME. THE CORROSION HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS CUTS, SCRAPES AND DAMAGED CLOTHING AS YOU GET IN AND OUT OF THE VEHICLE. #2- I STARTED SMELLING ANTIFREEZE BUT YOU COULDN'T SEE ANY LEAKS UNLESS IT WAS PARKED DOWNHILL SO I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP FOR DIAGNOSIS. AFTER SEVERAL TEST THEY FOUND IT TO BE THE HEAD GASKET. #3- I ALSO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT STAYING LATCHED. YOU CAN BE DRIVING ALONG AND IT WILL JUST RELEASE AND IT TAKES AWHILE TO GET IT TO LATCH BACK. #4-IT WOULDN'T LET ME SELECT THE OPTION TO TALK ABOUT THE WINDOW REGULATORS THAT JUST ALL OF A SUDDEN DECIDE TO WORK BY THEMSELVES. I'VE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE DISCUSS THESE ISSUES WITH ME AND I'D NOT SEEN ANY ISSUES UNTIL LATELY, REGARDLESS OF HOW SIGNIFICANT ANYONE THINKS THESE ISSUES ARE I'VE WORKED IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT THE MAKER SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT REGARDLESS OF THE SIGNIFICANCE OR AGE OF VEHICLE.
