Idid call chrysler hot line .know recall on this vin no3# but iam have the problem of what their saying about the brakes. i had the master cylinder replaced same problem.
BRAKE FLUID LEAKING FROM CAR
BOTH TIMES I WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR A RED LIGHT AND ALMOST REAR ENDED ANOTHER CAR. I FELT THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE CAR SEEMED TO ACCELERATE AND OR THE GAS PEDAL STUCK. I CALLED JEEP AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL/ISSUES AND I SAW WHERE MY YEAR/MODEL WAS REPORTED TO HAVE A RECALL FOR A BRAKE ISSUE. *TR
BRAKES WERE MAKING A NOISE THAT SUBSIDED WHEN BRAKES APPLIED. MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT REAR PADS ARE WORN TO INDICATORS AND PADS ARE FROZEN IN SLIDES. ROTORS ARE AT MINIMUM SPEC. NOW MY FRONT BRAKES HAVE NEVER BEEN REPLACED, THEY ARE ORIGINAL FACTORY INSTALLED. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE REAR BRAKES WEARING OUT BEFORE THE FRONT BRAKES. THIS HAPPENED IN APRIL IT IS NOW THE END OF JULY AND I STILL HAVE NOT NEEDED TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE REAR BRAKES TO WEAR OUT THAT FAST. *TR
I HAVE TO KEEP REPLACING THE REAR BRAKE PADS EVERY 9000 MILES. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND OUT WHY AND SAID MANY DO IT. I CALLED THE MFG AND THEY WERE NO HELP EITHER. I HAVE TO REPLACE THE REAR PADS EVERY 9 TO 10000 MILES. I BOUGHT CROSS DRILLED ROTORS AND SUPER PADS THE LAST TIME AND I THINK THEY ARE WEARING OUT ALSO. I BEEN TOLD BY A SPEED SHOP THE BRAKES ARE TOO SMALL IN THE REAR FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. THE ESP SYSTEM PUTS TOO MUCH PRESSURE TO THE REARS TO KEEP THE FRONT FROM NOSE DIVING. THATS WHY THEY STOPPED MAKING THEM. IT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AS MY BRAKES COULD GO. NO ONE CAN HELP ME WHY THEY KEEP WEARING OUT. THE CALIPERS , PADS, ROTORS BEEN REPLACED BY ME AND YET AFTER 31000 MILES I REPLACED THE PADS 3 TIMES ALREADY AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHY OTHER THEN IT IS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THE 2010 JEEP LIBERTY... *TR
WENT FOR MY NORMAL OIL CHANGE AND ROTATE TIRES AT THE DEALER. THE SERVICE WRITER CAME OUT TO INFORM ME I NEED REAR BRAKES AS THEY HAVE WORN DOWN AND THE ROTOR NEEDS TO BE TURNED AS IT IS OUT OF ROUND. I TOLD THEM HOW COULD THE REAR BE OUT IN 12600 MILES AND THE FRONT BRAKES ARE GOOD. IF THEY ARE THAT WORN WHY IS THERE NO WARNING TO LET ME KNOW AS IT IS UNSAFE AND I COULD HAVE BRAKE FAILURE. THEY TOLD ME MANY CHRYSLER VANS AS WELL AS SOME 2009 AND 2010 HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BRAKES THAT CAUSE THEM TO FAIL WAY SOONER THEN THEY SHOULD. I PAID ALMOST $400 FOR THE BACK BRAKES TO BE DONE AND CALLED CHRYSLER CORP AND MADE A CASE. THEY AGREED THAT IT SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED AT THAT LOW MILEAGE AND OTHERS HAVE DONE ALSO. I AM GOING TO GET A TOTAL REFUND FOR WHAT I SPEND AFTER MANY CALLS TO GET IT PAID BY THEM AS I FEEL IT IS A UNSAFE CONDITION THAT MANY OTHER PRODUCTS THEY MAKE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS AND WHY I SHOULD PAID FOR A DEFECT IN THEIR BRAKE SYSTEMS. I ASKED IN THE NEXT 12000 MILES IF THEY WEAR OUT AGAIN WILL THEY REPAIR THE PROBLEM AGAIN AND SHE SAID NO. IT IS NOT FAIR OR SAFE TO HAVE A JEEP THAT WILL KEEP HAVING THE REAR BRAKES WEAR OUT WAY BEFORE TIME AND A UNSAFE CONDITION TOO. I CALLED A FEW BARKS ROTOR MFG. COMPANIES AND THEY TOLD ME ALSO THEY HAVE A MAJOR DEFECT IN THEIR BRAKE SYSTEMS AS THE WEIGHT OF THEM AS CERTAIN JEEPS AND VANS IS WAY TOO MUCH FOR THE BRAKE SYSTEM THEY HAVE ON THE REARS AND FRONTS. I ALSO SEE CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS AGAINST THEM ON THIS BRAKES WEAR OUT PROBLEMS ON 2009 AND 2010 VANS THAT ARE IN A DODGE JOURNEY BULLETIN WB-D-11-07 AND IT IS THE SAME AS MY DEFECT BUT THEY SAID IT DOES NOT COVER THE JEEP LIBERTY BUT WILL REFUND MY MONEY ONCE FOR THE COST I PAID. I AM NOW AFRAID MY BRAKES WILL FAIL AND CAUSE A ACCIDENT. THEY DON`T SEEM TO CARE TO GO ANY FURTHER OTHER THEN PAY ME BACK MY MONEY FOR THE FAILED BRAKES IN THE REAR ONE TIME ONLY.... *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES TO AVOID A CRASH BUT THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUFFERED A BLACK EYE, A SWOLLEN NOSE AND A BRUISED RIGHT ARM DUE FROM THE IMPACT OF THE AIR BAG WHEN IT DEPLOYED. THE AMBULANCE REPORTED TO THE SCENE BUT THE CONTACT DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE POLICE REPORTED TO THE SCENE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,292. UPDATED 04/19/12*LJ
IT WAS LIGHT TO MEDIUM RAIN WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WHERE TRAFFIC TOOK OFF AND HAD TO STOP SOON AFTER. AS SOON AS I HIT MY BRAKES THE ABS KICKED IN INCREASING THE STOPPING DISTANCE OF MY JEEP CAUSING ME TO REAR END ANOTHER VEHICLE. AT THE SAME TIME THE ABS BRAKE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL BRAKE LIGHT AND STABILITY CONTROL LIGHTS ALL CAME ON AT THE SAME TIME AND REMAINED LIT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THIS WASN'T A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND TO BRING IT ON MONDAY (I CALLED FRIDAY MORNING). THE FIRST TIME THE DEALER CORRECTED THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE BRAKE SWITCH AND THE TAIL LIGHT LAMP SWITCH. AS I WAS LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, LESS THAN A MILE AWAY, ALL OF THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. THEY CORRECTED IT AGAIN, SO I PICKED IT UP AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN TWO DAYS LATER. IN THE MEAN TIME WHENEVER IT IS A MEDIUM RAIN OR ABOVE OR IT HAS BEEN RAINING FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME THE ABS BRAKES PREMATURELY ACTIVATE. THE JEEP WAS INSPECTED BY CHRYSLER ENGINEERS WHO STATE IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS, AND WILL NOT FIX THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. *TT
WHILE BACKING DOWN A DRIVEWAY, MY BRAND NEW JEEP LIBERTY'S SERVICE BRAKE DID NOT WORK AND I WAS ONLY STOPPED AFTER HITTING A POLE. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL FOR MY MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR; HOWEVER, MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE (ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER) SHOULD BE EFFECT-- THOUGH MY ACCIDENT FITS THE RECALL DESCRIPTION PERFECTLY. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OTHER VEHICLE HAD NO BUMPER WHICH DESTROYED HIS VEHICLE DURING THE CRASH. NO ONE WAS INJURED IN EITHER VEHICLES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 1,000.
ON JULY 12 I BOUGHT A NEW 2010 JEEP LIBERTY, ON AUGUST 19 I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL (K15) MASTER CYLINDER BRAKE TUBE(S), FROM CUSTOMER SERVICES FIELD OPERATIONS, THE NOTICE STATES THAT THE WORK WILL TAKE ABOUT 1/2 HOUR TO COMPLETE . I CALL THE DEALER WERE I BOUGHT THE NEW CAR AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE RECALL, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE CONFRONTING AN UNUSUAL FLOW OF REPAIRS AND THAT FOR THIS REASON THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE ANY UNIT FOR REPAIR FOR THE NEXT 2 WEEKS. WHAT SHOULD I DO, STOP THE ONLY VEHICLE THAT I USE FOR WORK FOR 2 WEEKS. *TR

WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THE COMPANY AND WERE TOLD THEY WERE NOT HONORING THIS RECALL WE ARE VERY CONCERNED SINCE IT SAYS THE BRAKES MAY SUDDENLY FAIL AND DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE COMPANY IS NOT DOING THIS RECALL AS ANNOUNCED. *TR
