2017 their was a recall on the 2010 jeep liberty oil pump and we were not notify at all, [XXX] the engine seized and the oil light came on and then the engine just stopped, It was full of oil and the oil was very clean, the mechanic look at it and said that the oil pump went out I am [XXX] the jeep stop in the middle of the road me my husband could have got kill cars almost hit us we have witnesses that can testify to this, we never receive a letter from your company at all about the recall. I have replaced the TIPM in March of last year. It has gone out on me February 2024. I didn’t expect it to go out before 12 months. Help
The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated while her husband was driving approximately 60 MPH, the driver lowered the driver's side window when a smoke odor was present. The driver saw a flame burst from the door-mounted electrical panel with the door lock and window controls. The contact blew the flames out and then returned to the residence. The contact mentioned that her husband's clothes had a strong smoke odor due to the failure. No warning light was illuminated. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that before the electrical fire, during brake work on the vehicle, a mechanic had advised that a wire harness on the tow hitch had melted and had warned the contact not to use the tow hitch. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 166,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the air bag warning light had been illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was determined that the air bags might fail to deploy in the event of a crash. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 220,000.
Airbag light goes on and off. Is not throwing a code on advanced scan tool. Also at times does not recognize the key has been removed from the ignition, and that appears to be a fault with the ignition key pin in the housing which Chrysler wants $1,000 or more to replace the ends tire steering column. What the hell do y'all guys even do because these problems exist all over the internet. Do y'all get kickbacks or make deals with the car companies because it seems not have to do anything with the safety of the equipment that is being sold.
The contact’s wife owns a 2010 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, his wife noticed that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the air bags needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed of the cost to replace the air bags. The contact was informed to call the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that he was not the original owner and the manufacturer denied repair. The failure mileage was approximately 152,000.
brake peddle goes to the floor board with know warning. know accident. backing the truck up this is what happin brake peddle fell down to the floor. Idid call chrysler hot line .know recall on this vin no3# but iam have the problem of what their saying about the brakes. i had the master cylinder replaced same problem.
Valve stem failure. Low tire pressure light came on, and tire immediately went flat while driving at 55-60 mph. After tire was changed, went to tire shop where they said valve stem was either blown out or sucked in, and 2 more were ready to fail, so replaced all 4. I didn’t quite understand all, but seemed to have something to do with the tire pressure sensor, or parts of it being worn.
I HAVE A 2010 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT AND IT'S HEADLIGHTS CONTINUE TO GO OFF ON ME WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT'S ONLY NOTICEABLE AT NIGHT IN WHICH IS NOT SAFE. I'VE CHANGED BOTH LIGHT BULBS IN WHICH WORKED AND THEN WENT OUT WITHIN 20 MINS AGAI AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY. THEN I CHANGED THE 30AMP/RELAY. THEN I CHANGED THE DIMMER SWITCH. ALL OF THIS DID NOT WORK. THEN THE DEALER CHANGED THE WINDSHIELD THAT IS LOCATED ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE AND IT WORKED FOR ABOUT A WEEK WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT GOING OUT BUT WORKING WHEN I SHIMMY THE CORD OF CONDUCTOR. BUT LIKE IT DID PREVIOUSLY IT'S NOW NOT JUST THE PASSENGER LIGHT AS BOTH LIGHTS ARE AGAIN NOT WORKING. AND THEY ARE STARTING TO FLICKER THEN JUST GOES OUT ALTOGETHER TO WHERE NOW THE SHIMMY IS NO LONGER EFFECTIVE. NOW I'VE DONE ALL I CAN DO ON THE ELECTRICAL REALM BUT IT SEEMS AS THOUGH EVERYTHING I'VE ATTEMPTED IS JUST TEMPORARY OR DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP!
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES (CRITICAL ERROR - CYLINDER MISFIRE) AND MY CAR VIBRATES/SHAKES WHENEVER I ACCELERATE OR GO UP ANY INCLINE ON A HIGHWAY. I WENT TO SEE A CERTIFIED MECHANIC TODAY (IN MICHIGAN) AND THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE 3.7L ENGINE HAS A DESIGN FLAW THAT ALLOWS A LARGE AMOUNT OF CARBON BUILDUP IN THE CYLINDERS, WHICH LEADS TO MISFIRE ISSUES. IT WILL COST OVER $2,000 TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE (12 HOURS WORTH OF WORK - THEY HAVE TO TAKE APART THE CYLINDERS AND WHOLE IGNITION/INTAKE SYSTEM, CLEAN THE PARTS, AND REPLACE GASKETS). THE MECHANIC SAYS THAT MY CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE FOR HIGHWAY DRIVING AND CAN BREAK DOWN AT ANY TIME. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 104,000 MILES. JEEP SHOULD NOT GET AWAY WITH SUCH A HORRIBLE DESIGN FLAW THAT WILL CAUSE MY CAR TO BREAK DOWN.
WHEN WE DRIVE TO GREATCLIP HAIR CUT STORE FROM DOLLARS STORE THRU FREEWAY, JEEP DIDN'T WARNING ANYTHING THAT WILLING TO BREAK DOWN, I STARTED SMELLED LITTLE OIL BURN AND WE PARKED JEEP BY GREATCLIP TO DROP WIFE THERE AND I TURNED ENGINE TO GOING AND IT'S SMELL STRONGER BURNS . I CHECKED IT OUT THAT VALVE COVER GOT CRACKED AND LITTLE HOLE. I ASKED WIFE TO START UP AND I SAW A LOT OF OIL COME OUT OF VALVE COVER HOLE . WE CALLED TOW TO COME PICK UP TO AVOID GET ENGINE SEIZURES AND I THOUGHT IT'S VALVE COVER THEN I WENT TO AUTOZONE TO BUY VALVE COVER AND GASKET AND WENT HOME TO WORK ON JEEP. I REMOVED VALVE COVER AND FOUND A ROCKER BROKE THE METAL OF ENGINE HEAD IN PASSAGES SIDE. I HEARD A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO WORK AT DEALERSHIP SHOP AND OTHER SHOP SAID ALL 3.7 LITER V6 ISN'T GOOD ENGINE FOR JEEP BECAUSE IT'S KEEP BLEW OR PROBLEMS. IT'S ONLY 170,000 MILES ON ENGINE. WE JUST BOUGHT 2 MONTHS AGO IT'S WAS GOOD ENGINE AND RUN WONDERFUL THEN IT'S BROKE DOWN FOR NO REASON. I HAD OLDER JEEP HAS NEVER PROBLEMS WITH ME UNTIL THIS ONE CAUSED ME PROBLEMS.

GRAND AVE, ELMHURST, IL 60126, (630) 333-9121) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE COST OF THE ROOF REPAIR EXCEEDED THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,028.
AIRBAG LIGHT SUDDENLY CAME ON WHEN TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. MECHANIC SAYS CLOCKSPRING IS BROKEN AND AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON.
AFTER STATIONARY FOR THE WEEKEND IN MY HOMES DRIVEWAY, BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER ACTIVE HEADRESTS DEPLOYED. THERE HAVE BEEN NO ACCIDENTS AND NO MISUSE RELATED TO BOTH HEADRESTS DEPLOYING. I CALLED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING AND THEY TOLD ME THERE MUST HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT FOR THEM TO DEPLOY, AND THAT I WAS WRONG BY TELLING THEM THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN THE DRIVEWAY, AND THEN QUOTED ME $750 FOR EACH HEADREST PLUS THE COST OF LABOR AND SERVICING.
OPERATING MY 2010 JEEP LIBERTY ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE REAR SUSPENSION SNAPPED NEARLY CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. ALSO VEHICLE HAS AN OVER ABUNDANCE OF RUST UNKNOWN REASON. SINGLE OWNER, PURCHASED IN 2010 THIS IS A SERIOUS DEFECT. *TR
AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL MINUTES ON A CITY STREET, MULTIPLE DASH LIGHT COME ON, ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, ESP, AND BAS. THIS HAPPENS ONCE A WEEK. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO OCCUR ON DAYS ABOVE 75 DEGREES. FROM THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE. I BELIEVE ITS THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR / CLOCK SENSOR. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AS IT WAS EASY TO FIND THE INFORMATION ON UTUBE.
ROLLOVER PROTECTION VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK HAS FAILED AND GAS POURS OUT OF THE FILLER NECK WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH FUEL. AFTER THE PUMP SHUTS OFF, FUEL POURS OUT OF THE FILLER NECK AND ONTO THE PERSON FUELING THE VEHICLE. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT IS BEING REPAIRED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS BUT NOT THE 2010 MODEL YEAR, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME ISSUE.
MY DOOR LOCKS ONLY WORK OCCASIONALLY. THIS CAUSES A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN DRIVING THROUGH A BAD NEIGHBORHOOD AND A SECURITY CONCERN WHEN THE BACK HATCH WON'T LOCK. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE ALTERNATOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,000.
THIS CAR HAS ELETRICAL ISSUES, WHILE DRIVING, THE HORN STARTED GOING OFF ON HIS OWN. I NEVER USE MY HORN, AND CAN COUNT ON 1 HAND HOW MANY TIMES I USED IT. THE REPAIR COST ME OVER $800. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE MOTOR FOR THE REAR DOOR, I NEVER USE THE HATCH, AND I HAD TO REPLACE. MY CAR IS NOW CURRENTLY BEING REPAIR FOR ANOTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THE PASSAGER DOOR IS CLOSED, HOWEVER THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON CAUSING MY INTERIOR LIGHT NOT TO STAY ON. THE PASSENGER DOOR IS COMPLETELY CLOSED- DUE TO THIS ELECTRICAL ISSUE MY LIGHTS WILL NOT SHUT OFF AND WILL KILL THE BATTERY. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCE BOTH WINDOWS DECIDED TO OPEN AND CLOSE WHILE DRIVING ON THEIR OWN. THIS CAR IS AN ELECTRICAL DISASTER. I DO NOT DRIVE LONG DISTANCE, JUST LOCAL. ITS A 2010 AND I HAVE 75, 000 MILES ON IT.
THE SKY GLIDER HAS BROKEN AND PEELED COMPLETELY BACK WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE CAUSED ACCIDENT AND EVERY MAKE AND MODEL IN THIS YEAR AND A COUPLE YEARS NEWER TO OLDER HE'S HAD THE SAME ISSUE. CHRYSLER JEEP NO LONGER MAKES THE PART TO FIX THE SKY GLIDER THERE FOR OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE OR JUST OUT OF LUCK AND HAVE NO WAY TO FIX OR REPLACE THIS PART NOW THE CAR FLOODS WHEN IT RAINS BECAUSE IT DOES NOT SEAL COMPLETELY.BECAUSE OF THIS IT'S CAUSING OTHER ELECTRICAL DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AS WELL OF OTHER ISSUES. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVERS OWNING THIS VEHICLE.
THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS CODE P0420 IS PERMANENT CODE IT CANNOT BE TURN OFF .HOW WILL I PASS SMOG THE VEHICLE HAS 4 NEW O2 SENSORS NEW SPARK PLUGS WELL MAINTAINED EXCELLENT CONDITION.
THE SKY SLIDER ROOF WILL NOT CLOSE, LEAVING THE TOP OPEN AND CONTRIBUTING TO WATER DAMAGE AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS.
THE SKY SLIDER HAS A MAJOR LEAKING ISSUE AND VERY HIGH WIND SOUNDS WHEN DRIVING. THE SLIDER DOES NOT CURRENTLY OPERATE AND BETWEEN THIS YEAR AND LAST YEAR I'VE GOTTEN 3 DETAILS JUST TO CLEAN THE WATER DAMAGE AND IT JUST KEEPS HAPPENING. WHEN LOOKING UP REVIEWS SO MANY PEOPLE ARE/HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SLIDER. THIS IS NOT FAIR TO CUSTOMERS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PALLIES AUTO SALES (856-589-6888, LOCATED AT 540A DELSEA DR, SEWELL, NJ 08080) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN TOPPED OFF THE ENGINE COOLANT AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE AT THE SHOP FOR OBSERVATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WAS FAILING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 119,000.
TWICE NOW AFTER REVERSING MY CAR A LITTLE DISTANCE, THE CAR WOULD ONLY FORCEFULLY MOVE FORWARD AFTER PUTTING IT IN DRIVE, AND IT WOULD STOP IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKING MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS WITHOUT TOUCHING THE BRAKE. I TRIED TO PUSH THE BRAKE DOWN TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK, BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS STUCK UP. I HAVE HAD THE CAR TOWED TWICE TO A GARAGE, BUT THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND THE VEHICLE WILL MOVE AGAIN AFTER SITTING FOR HOURS.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS TURNING ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I HEARD JEEPS HAVE MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRBAGS. I HAVE ALSO REPLACE 5 WATER PUMPS ON THIS VEHICLE PAYING FOR 2 OF THEM THE OTHERS WERE DONE UNDER THE TSB FROM CHRYSLER. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE HEAT COMING OUT OF THE VENTS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE HEARD OF MANY JEEPS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM THIS STARTED ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE I STARTED TO APPROACH A MAC TRUCK, I STARTED TO APPLY MY BREAKS AND I NOTICED I DIDNT SLOW DOWN, SO I KEPT TRYING, THE CHECK ENGINE, ABS, ESP, AND TWO OTHER LIGHTS CAME ON. I REAR ENDED THE TRUCKED AND MY JEEP STARTED SPINNING AND I WRECKED INTO THE MEDIUM
AS I AM ACCELERATING FROM A STOP MY ENTIRE VEHICLE WILL COMPLETELY LOCK UP OUT OF NOWHERE AND WILL NO LONGER MOVE. I CAN STILL SHIFT ALL THE GEARS, HOWEVER MY JEEP WILL NOT BUDGE IN DRIVE OR REVERSE WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL. THIS HAS LEFT ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF BOTH LANES OF TRAFFIC ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN, AS I HAVE HAD OTHER VEHICLES ALMOST CRASH INTO ME. THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE IT, IS LIKE HAVING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE COME ON WHILE YOUR DRIVING. THE VEHICLE LOCKS UP AND THE TIRES SKID UNTIL YOU COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. IT'S VERY SCARY!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD BEEN OCCURRING FOR THE PAST THREE MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY STAR CHRYSLER JEEP (211 JAMAICA AVE, QUEENS VILLAGE, NY 11428). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING AFTER ABOUT 5 - 10 MINUTES, THE BATTERY LIGHT ON THE DASH LIT UP AND MADE A DINGING NOISE. I PARKED CAME BACK OUT TO LEAVE 3 HOURS LATER, AND THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. THERE WAS NO CLICKING, NO NOISED WHEN TURNING THE KEY TO START THE CAR. WE TRIED JUMPING THE CAR WITH 2 DIFFERENT JUMP BOXES AND 1 SET OF CABLES. NONE OF THOSE WORKED. I THEN HAD THE CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER. THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR, CHANGED IT, AND I PICKED THE CAR UP FROM THE SERVICE CENTER, AGAIN 5 MINUTES INTO DRIVING THE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING MAYBE 10 MINUTES LATER ON THE THE THRUWAY. AGAIN, NOT ABLE TO JUMP THE BATTERY SO IT WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SERVICE CENTER. THEY THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A FAULTY ALTERNATOR, AND CHANGED IT OUT. THE BATTERY LIGHT STILL CAME ON, AND DISCOVERED IT WAS THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE (TIPM) THAT WAS FAILING, AND BURNING THROUGH THE ALTERNATORS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE TO RUN AN ERRAND. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL SEIZED IN PLACE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 10V315000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) OR 10V009000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
THE FIRST TIME MY SKYSLIDER MALFUNCTIONED WAS WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY AT 65MPH. INSTEAD OF OPENING STRAIGHT IT WENT SIDEWAYS AND WAS STRUGGLING AGAINST ITSELF- THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. I ENDED UP HAVING TO STOP ALONG THE SHOULDER BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING. ONCE I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET IT INTO THE CLOSED POSITION AGAIN IT WOULDN'T STAY CLOSED ON IT'S OWN WITHOUT WANTING TO FLIP UP AND CAUSE A LOT OF NOISE AND POTENTIALLY MORE DAMAGE. I HAD TO HOLD THE ROOF CLOSE THE REMAINING 20 MINUTES HOME. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TOLD ME THERE WERE NO PARTS TO FIX IT BUT THEY COULD PERMANENTLY CLOSE IT FOR ME. THEY COULDN'T GUARANTEE IT WOULD BE WATER TIGHT BUT THIS WAS THE BEST THEY COULD OFFER. I ACCEPTED THEN APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS LATER AS SOON AS I STARTED THE CAR I STARTED TO HEAR A LOUD NOISE THAT I COULDN'T PLACE BECAUSE IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS COMING FROM EVERYWHERE. MY 6 YEAR OLD POINTED OUT THAT THE ROOF WAS MOVING AND I IMMEDIATELY HIT THE CLOSE BUTTON AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE ROOF TO STOP STRAINING AGAINST THE "PERMANENT SEAL" BUT IT WAS TOO LATE AND A FEW PIECES RAINED DOWN ON ME. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME 40 MINUTES ON AN EXPRESSWAY WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 70 MPH WITH MY HAZARDS ON BECAUSE I COULDN'T GO OVER 60 MPH WITHOUT LOSING MY GRIP OF THE ROOF AND IT FLOPPING AROUND WILDLY- I HAVE A SHORT VIDEO OF THAT PARTICULAR DRIVE BUT CAN'T UPLOAD IT HERE. MY SON WAS TERRIFIED AND THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN OUR DRIVEWAY EVER SINCE BECAUSE IT'S BEEN RAINING HERE AND MY ROOF WON'T CLOSE. I CONTACTED CORPORATE JEEP AND ALL THEY COULD TELL ME WAS THAT THE ROOF ON MY JEEP WAS OUT OF WARRANTY IN 2013, 3 YEARS BEFORE I PURCHASED IT FROM AN AUTHORIZED JEEP DEALER, BALES AUTO MALL IN JEFFERSONVILLE, IN. I HAVEN'T EVEN OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 2 YEARS- I HAVE 4 YEARS OF PAYMENTS LEFT...
I AM STILL PAYING FOR MY VEHICLE AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE SKY SLIDER HAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. WHEN I OPENED THE SKY SLIDER IT CAME OFF TRACK AND I AM UNABLE TO CLOSE IT SECURELY. I HAVE BEING IN TOUCH WITH ORIGINAL DEALER AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIR AND IT WAS NOT GUARANTEE TO LAST
THE ROOF IS LEAKING ALL AROUND WHEN IT RAINS OR SNOWS. I HAVE REPORTED THIS SEVERAL TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP. WATER ACTUALLY DRIPS INSIDE THE VEHICLE, ONTO THE SHIFTING AREA, SEATS, AND THE CENTER OF THE DASHBOARD WHERE THE RADIO IS LOCATED. THE WATER ALSO DRIPS FROM THE FRONT LIGHT CEILING FIXTURE, WHICH MAY BE CREATING AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THE WATER IS COMING IN FROM WHERE THE ROOF RACK TRACKS BEGIN AND END, AND RUNS DOWN TOWARD THE MIDDLE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY. THE RUBBER STRIPPING THAT IS HOLDING THE ROOF RACK TRACKS ONTO THE VEHICLE ARE EITHER CORRODING, OR THE REINFORCEMENT AGENT/S ARE NOT WORKING.
DAUGHTER PULLED OUT OF DRIVEWAY TURNED LEFT ONTO STREET AND IMMEDIATELY HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND OBSERVED THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD INSTRUMENTATION PANEL LIGHT UP. WIPERS CAME ON, DOORS LOCKED, ENGINE CUT OFF, ALARM WENT OFF, WIPER FLUID STARTED SPRAYING AND SMOKE STARTED POURING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. FORTUNATELY SHE WAS ABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOORS AND GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. ELECTRICAL WIRING WAS STILL SMOKING 45 MINUTES AFTER THE POWER FINALLY DRAINED FROM THE BATTERY. TOW TRUCK REFUSED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL A MECHANIC CAME TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. LOCAL SHOP SAID ALL THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITRY WAS BURNED UP OR COMPROMISED, INCLUDING THE WIRING HARNESSES, GROUND WIRES, FUSED BOX, TIPM, ETC. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PRONOUNCED UNFIXABLE. INSURANCE COMPANY WILL NOT COVER SINCE FIRE DAMAGE WAS CONFINED TO ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS AND JEEP CHRYSLER SENT AN INVESTIGATOR TO INSPECT THE DAMAGE AND COMPENSATION WAS DENIED.

THE CONTACT HAD TO DUCT TAPE THE SUN ROOF TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. METRO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (650 MEMORIAL DR C, CHICOPEE, MA 01020, (413) 783-9911) AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TRADE IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT REPAIRING THE SUN ROOF WOULD BE A WASTE MONEY SINCE THE FAILURE WOULD LIKELY RECUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,423.
I BROUGHT A JEEP LIBERTY WANTING TO TRY SOMETHING NEW . I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING HELL WITH THIS VEHICLE. CHANGED HEATER CORE ALTERNATER RADIATOR CHECK TRANSMISSION. THE SKY SLIDER ROOF IS MALFUNCTIONING AND GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. IT IS NOW LEAKING AND I FEAR IT MIGHT COME OFF EVENTUALLY. CHRYSLER JEEP NO LONGER OFFERS PARTS TO REPAIR AND NO ONE CAN FIX THE ISSUE. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THE DEALER WOULD ALLOW THEIR PRODUCT TO GO UNSUPPORTED IN THIS MANNER.
SO THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN I HAVE CAME ACROSS, THIS IS OUTRAGED THE COMPANY HASN'T HAD ANY SORT OF RECALL ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS OF THIS GAS TANK. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS GAS TANK, OVERFLOW FORUMS, AND NUMEROUS YOUTUBE VIDEO OF "GAS BURP" IS THE NICKNAME, WHERE WHEN PUMPING GAS. THE CUSTOM LIKE MYSELF MAY BE INCLIND TO LIKE ANY CAR, ONCE THE GAS UNLEADED IS SELECTED, AND GAS CAP OUT, AND INSERTED INTO IT NORMAL SLOT. IT FILLS NORMALLY, AS THE GAS TANK FILLS NO SOUND IS HEARD, AND LASTLY ONCE THE GAS PUMP CLICKS OFF INSERTING THE GAS. IT SHOULD BE DONE, NOT WITH MY TANK MY TANK AT ANY GAS STATION, AT ANY LOCATION, ANY BRAND, OF CIRCLE K, BP, MOBILE, SHELL, QT? THEY ALL OVERFLOW MY CAR!. THIS SPILL ISN'T A LIGHT SPILL, THIS I'D A MAJOR QUARTER OF A GAS TANK STILL EVERY TIME. ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE CAR AND THE GROUND AND JEEP AND DEALERSHIP RESPONSE, IS YOU HAVE TO PAY 3K TO REPLACE THE WHOLE GAS TANK. WHICH IS OUTRAGEOUS FOR A SAFETY ISSUE OF DUMPING GAS ALL OVER THE GROUND. THERE HAS BEEN RECALLS ON 2007 MODELS, OF JEEPS AND DODGE DURANGO. BUT MY CAR IN SPECIFIC LIKE MANY OTHERS IN THE 2005-2012 RANGE ARE EXPERIENCING IS. A DODGE FLAW OF THE GAS TANK, IT IS THE PLUNGER SYSTEM TO PREVENT BACKFLOW. WELL THE RUBBER STOPPER ERODES TO ETHANOL WHICH IS IN GASOLINE. BUT I AM HERE TO ADD MY CONCERN IF THE ISSUE AT HAND. I WORK FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND TO HAVE CARS SPILLING FUEL OUT OF THE NORMAL CONSUMER USE ANY TIME OF THE YEAR, ANY TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE, AND STATIONS, AND ALSO ANY PUMP NOZZLE WILL DO THE REPEATED ISSUE. I HAVE EVIDENCE OF THIS BUT EVEN YOURSELF CAN GOOGLE GAS BURP CHRYSLER TYPE OF VEHICLES AND IT IS VERY COMMON ISSUE ACROSS FORUMS AND MORE. BEST PART IS, THE WEAR ON THE RUBBER RING IS PAST WARRANTY SO IT OUT OF POCKET CUSTOMERS WHO WIL MOST LIKELY JUST PREFER TO SPILL GAS INSTEAD OF COUGHING UP THE MONEY TO REPLACE A WHOLE GAS FUEL TANK.

WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF. MID DRIVE, WHICH WAS VERY UNSAFE. IT STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD ROUNDING A CURVE. ATTEMPTED TO JUMP THE CAR WITH NO SUCCESS. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL GARAGE. THEY STATE IT AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT IT WILL BE PRETTY COSTLY. EXPLAINED IT TO ME AS THE MOTHERBOARD BASICALLY FOR THE CAR. AFTER READING UP SEEMS THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. I WOULD THINK JEEP WOULD FIX THIS COMMON AND COSTLY ISSUE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER JEEP.

CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE A MONTH TO GET THE PIECES....THAT MONTH IS NOW GOING ON FIVE...WAS GIVEN A NUMBER BY THE DEALERSHIP TO CALL AND PUT IN A COMPLAINT...NOW I HAVE A CASE NUMBER AND A WOMAN WHO CALLS ME EVERY WEEK TELLING ME THEY ARE WORKING ON RECTIFYING THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO MAKE THE REPLACEMENT PIECES AT THIS TIME BECAUSE THE "MOLD" FOR THE PIECE WAS LOST...SO NOW THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO FIND A MANUFACTURER TO MAKE THE "MOLD" TO MAKE THE PIECE...THEN MAKE SURE IT IS SAFE FOR THE PUBLIC....REALLY...I CALL BS..THEY NEED TO TAKE THESE CAR BACK AND RETURN MY MONEY..THIS CANNOT BE LEGAL...I AM MAKING CAR PAYMENTS ON A CAR I CANNOT DRIVE SAFELY...DO THEY NOT REALIZE GOD FORBID SOMEONE DRIVES THEIR CAR LIKE THIS AND GETS INTO AN ACCIDENT AND IS EJECTED FROM THE CAR AND DIES BECAUSE OF A FAULTY ROOF.....LAW SUITS UP THE BUTT...THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS...I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER JEEP EVER....THIS IS SUCH BAD BUSINESS ON THEIR PART....
