I HAVE PROBLEM WITH WATER COMING IN FROM THE ROOF AND THE TOP INTERIOR IS GETTING WET
JUNE 2 2015 APPROXIMATELY 54000 MILES ON VEHICLE PURCHASED WITH 17,000 FROM JEEP DEALERSHIP. ENGINE SEIZED WITH OUT WARNING WHILE IN MOTION ON WAY HOME FROM WORK. NO SMOKE AND NO LIGHTS ON DASH TO FOREWARN ME. NO COOLANT EVER LEAKED ON GARAGE FLOOR OR ANYWHERE AT ALL. REPAIR COST 4,000 AND NOTHING COVERED BY CHRYSLER. HEATER CORE REPLACED TWICE ENGINE REBUILT AND AFTER REPAIRS WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING. HAD THAT REPLACED FOR FREE. ONCE AGIN HAVING ISSUES.
2010 JEEP LIBERTY LIMITED 4X4 BEGAN TO INTERMITTENTLY START AND NOT HAVE HEADLIGHTS, SOMETIMES THE LIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON AT ALL, OTHER TIMES ONLY THE PARKING LIGHTS WOULD WORK, AND OTHER TIMES ONLY THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD WORK. IT WAS TAKEN TO BOTH A JEEP DEALER AS WELL AS A LOCAL GARAGE AND NO ONE COULD FIND AN ISSUE. THEY TRIED REPLACING THE SWITCH BUT THIS DID NOT HELP EITHER. EVENTUALLY, THE ISSUE GOT WORSE AND THE LIGHTS HAVE NOW SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON HIGHWAYS, LOCAL ROADS, ECT. AND HAS BECOME UNSAFE TO DRIVE. JEEP STILL CLAIMS TO NEVER HAVE SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS HOWEVER MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS EXISTS ONLINE FOR SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, A LOCAL GARAGE TOLD ME ABOUT THE TIPM ISSUES AND EVEN UPON SUGGESTING THE REPLACEMENT OF THIS PART, JEEP INSISTED THIS COULDN'T BE THE ISSUE. NOW THE LIGHTS ARE REALLY ACTING UP, SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING, FLASHING FREQUENTLY, ONLY PARKING LIGHTS WORK SOMETIMES, SOMETIMES ONLY ONE LIGHT WORKS, AND OTHER ISSUES ARE BEGINNING (STARTING RANDOMLY, HORN / ALARM RANDOMLY GOING OFF,ECT) JEEP STILL REFUSING THAT THIS IS THE ISSUE AND WANTS TO REPLACE / REPAIR OTHER THINGS FIRST. CURRENTLY LOOKING INTO REPLACEMENT TIPM PERSONALLY, AS AT THIS POINT, THE JEEP LIBERTY IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT.
I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT AND THE HEADLIGHTS JUST STOPPED WORKING. I WAS EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY AS I HAD NO HEADLIGHTS AND CARS APPROACHING ME WERE FLASHING ME TO TURN OF MY HEADLIGHTS. I COULDNT PASS THE MA. SAFTEY INSPECTION BECAUSE OF THIS. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND HE HAS TO REPLACE THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED CONTROL MODULE AT A COST OF $900.00. THIS IS ABSOLUTLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED!
HEATER CORE LEAKING ON MY FOOT WHILE DRIVING BURNT ME. AND ANTIFREEZE ON CARPET MADE MY SHOES SLIPPERY AND WHEN I TRIED TO BRAKE MY FOOT SLIPPED OFF THE PEDDLE.

CAR STALL WHILE GOING 40 MILES PER HOURS LOST ALL POWER HAD TO STEER AS BEST TO THE SIDE TO AVOID REAR ACCIDENT. *TR
STARTED MY VEHICLE LIKE ANY OTHER DAY AND SUDDENLY A WHOLE LOT OF WHITE SMOKE CAME OUT THE REAR EXAUST. THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN TWO DAYS LATER AND AGAIN IN ANOTHER DAY. SO I WENT ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY PROBLEMS WITH WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT ON ANY 2010 JEEP LIBERTY AND I LEARNED THERE WAS A PENDING INVESTIGATION INVOLVING THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE FAILURE AND IN THE DESCRIPTION IT SAYS THERE'S WHITE SMOKE PRESENT. *TR
COOLANT LEAK- TOOK TO CARMAX SERVICE IN HILLSIDE,IL FOR DIAGNOSIS INFORMED THAT THE COOLANT WAS LEAKING FROM WATER PUMP. SERVICE CONSULTANT INFORMED ME THAT HE SPOKE TO A GUY FROM JACK PHELAN DEALERSHIP IN COUNTRYSIDE, IL AND WAS INFORMED THAT BY SEARCHING MY VIN NUMBER IN THERE DATABASE THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE WATER PUMP FOR MY 2010 JEEP LIBERTY. STATES THAT COOLANT LEAKS FROM WEEP HOLE IN WATER PUMP, WAS THEN INFORMED THAT I CAN BRING MY VEHICLE IN TO BE SERVICE AT NO CHARGE BECAUSE OF THIS RECALL. COULD NOT FIND ANY INFO ONLINE OR NHTSA WEBSITE SO THAT'S WHY I AM FILING A COMPLAINT SO A RECALL CAN BE ADMINISTERED TO INFORM OTHER JEEP LIBERTY OWNERS OF THIS ISSUE. *TR
DRIVING ON I-75 MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I GOT HOME I CALLED SOUTHFIELD CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID IF IT WAS NOT BLINKING, NOT A BIG DEAL JUST GET IT CHECKED OUT. THIS WAS A HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND I DID NOT WANT TO WAIT. I WENT TO A MECHANIC IN LAKE ORION AND SOME WIRES HAD BURNED THROUGH, CYLINDERS WERE MISFIRING AND I WAS LUCKY THE ENGINE DID NOT CATCH IN FIRE THERE IS PROBABLY NOTHING YOU CAN DO AT THIS LATE DATE BUT I WANTED TO FILE A COMPLAINT ANYWAY.
FOR NO REASON, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. THOUGH THERE IS WARRANTY, THEY ARE TELLING US IT ISN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLE AS LONG AS I LIVE. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER INSTANCES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BUT WE WERE LIED TO REGARDING THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ADDED...ENOUGH SAID. *TR
BOTH TIMES I WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR A RED LIGHT AND ALMOST REAR ENDED ANOTHER CAR. I FELT THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE CAR SEEMED TO ACCELERATE AND OR THE GAS PEDAL STUCK. I CALLED JEEP AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL/ISSUES AND I SAW WHERE MY YEAR/MODEL WAS REPORTED TO HAVE A RECALL FOR A BRAKE ISSUE. *TR

AS A RESULT, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED INDEPENDENTLY IMPAIRING THE DRIVER'S VISION AND CRASHED INTO A GUARD RAIL. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TURN SIGNALS FAILED TO ACTIVATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIPM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECREASE IN SPEED AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD SHUT OFF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED AND UNKNOWN WIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
FILLING UP MY CAR WITH GAS AND IT ALWAYS OVERFLOWS. IT DOESN'T STOP WHEN ITS FULL. ITS BEEN HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL. *TR
THE SEAT BELT WILL NOT LATCH. THE PART THAT IS SUPPOSE TO RETRACT TOO LOCK THE METAL GUIDE OF THE SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT. THE METAL GUIDE OF THE SEAT BELT IS BLOCKED FROM ENTERING THE RECEIVING UNIT. *TR
I WAS FILLING UP MY VEHICLE WITH GAS AND IT OVERFLOWED AND IT CONTINUES TO DO THAT EVERY TIME I FILL UP. ITS A FIRE HAZARD AND A WASTE OF GAS. *TR
FOR THE SECOND TIME THE VALVE STEM IS DEFECTIVE AND CORRODED. *TR
AS I WAS LEAVING WORK, I STARTED UP MY JEEP AND THE FLASHERS STARTED FLASHING BY THEMSELVES. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF TURNING THE JEEP ON AND OFF, TURNING THE HAZARD SWITCH ON AND OFF, IT FINALLY STOPPED. A FEW WEEKS LATER, FOR THE 5TH TIME, MY JEEP REFUSED TO START AFTER A STOP AT THE LOCAL PHARMACY. THE HORN HAS NOT WORKED FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW, AND RIGHT BEFORE IT DIED, IT WOULD HONK RANDOMLY WHETHER THE JEEP WAS PARKED, KEY IN THE IGNITION OR NOT. IT HAS ALSO STALLED A FEW TIMES ON THE FREEWAY. DEALER HAS RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF THE TIPM AND SAYS THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE. *TR
IGNITION SWITCH TURNED OFF FOLLOWING A RIGHT HAND TURN. KEY CHAIN HAS A NUMBER OF KEYS HANGING. *TR
ABOUT A QUART OF GAS WILL "BURP" OUT DIRECTLY AFTER THE PUMP HAS KICKED OFF, SPILLING OVER THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND ONTO THE PERSON PUMPING GAS. THE ODD THING IS THAT IT ACTUALLY SHOOTS OUT UNDER SOME PRESSURE. THE PROBLEM IS NOT CAUSED BY OVER-FILLING. AT THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK. THE SPILLAGE IS A MAJOR ISSUE BY ITSELF, BUT I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY ISSUES IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS. WILL THIS PROBLEM CAUSE A FIRE HAZARD DURING AN ACCIDENT? IF I REPLACE THE GAS TANK NOW, WILL I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AFTER THE NEXT 45,000 MILES. REPLACING THE TANK IS EXTREME AS A REGULAR MAINTENANCE ITEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR LIFT GATE RUBBER SEAL FAILED CAUSING WATER TO PENETRATE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOBBLED WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TANK SPILLS GAS ON EVERY FILL-UP. NO MADDER HOW SLOW YOU FILL IT. BUT SLOWER FILLING SPILL LESS GAS THEN FAST FILLING. ALWAYS HAVE TO WIPE UP EXCESS GAS THAT SPILLS DOWN FENDER. THIS CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE EVERY TIME YOU FILL UP. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT WHILE UNSCREWING THE CAP FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE VALVE STEM, THE TOP FRACTURED CAUSING THE TIRE TO DEFLATE. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE WHILE UNSCREWING THE CAP FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. AS I AM DRIVING 55 MILES AN HOUR THE WARNING DISPLAY COMES ON AND SAYS "LOW AIR" AND WITHIN ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS ALL THE AIR IN THE TIRE DEFLATES. I BROUGHT THE TIRE TO MY REPAIR SHOP THAT I DO BUSINESS WITH AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE VALVE STEMS NOT THE TIRES THAT LET GO AND I MUST BRING IT TO VIP BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO TAKE CARE OF THAT. IT COST 100.00 INSTALLED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON ALL 4 TIRES ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. IN SPEAKING WITH EMPLOYEES AT VIP, THEY SAID IT IS COMMON ON JEEPS. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HAPPENS ON THE FRONT TIRES. I WOULD LIKE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THESE. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
FRONT CLEVIS (HOLDS BOTTOM OF SPRING AND STRUT ASSEMBLY) IS SEVERELY RUSTED ON BOTH SIDES AND IF IT WERE TO BRAKE (FAIL) IT WOULD CAUSE COMPLETE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SENSOR NEAR THE VAULT STEM WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP PATRIOT 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON A HIGHWAY, THE TRANSMISSION INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY AND INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATED UP TO 20 MPH LEAVING THE CONTACT STRANDED ON A DESERTED HIGHWAY. THE CONTACT WAS ONLY ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WITHIN AN HOUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE DEFECT THAT OCCURRED AFTER 50,000 MILES HOWEVER, THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE IN THE SOFTWARE METERING SYSTEM FOR THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND THEY DID NOT HAVE A REMEDY. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER REITERATED THE SAME INFORMATION THAT THE DEALER PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE THE ABS SYSTEM ON THE JEEP TURNS ON AND MY CAR COMES TO A STOP. I AM UNABLE TO MOVE THE CAR AND I HAVE HAD IT TOWED TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP TO BE LOOKED AT. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THEIR SHOP 4 TIMES FOR SERVICE. EACH TIME I AM TOLD THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED AND EACH TIME IT OCCURS AGAIN. THIS ISSUE IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS MY CAR LITERALLY IS UNABLE TO MOVE AND COMES TO A COMPLETE HALT. IT HAS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY , AT AN INTERSECTION, AND DRIVING UP HILL. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNSYMPATHETIC AND I AM UNAWARE AS HOW TO PROCEED. THANK YOU. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SENSOR ACTIVATED AND THE TIRE WENT FLAT. THE STEM VALVE WAS COMPLETELY CORRODED AND FEEL INSIDE THE TIRE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY ARE NO LONGER USING THE SAME TYPE AND WE PAID FOR A UPDATED ONE. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SEE THE ROAD CLEARLY BUT CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME USING THE FOG LIGHTS ONLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE COMBINATION HEADLIGHT SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE SEAT BELT WEBBING ON THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT WRAPPED AROUND THE BODY EXTREMELY TIGHT AND WOULD NOT LOOSEN. IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE SEAT BELT THE CONTACT WAS FORCED TO CUT THE WEBBING OF THE SEAT BELT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
BRAKES WERE MAKING A NOISE THAT SUBSIDED WHEN BRAKES APPLIED. MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT REAR PADS ARE WORN TO INDICATORS AND PADS ARE FROZEN IN SLIDES. ROTORS ARE AT MINIMUM SPEC. NOW MY FRONT BRAKES HAVE NEVER BEEN REPLACED, THEY ARE ORIGINAL FACTORY INSTALLED. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE REAR BRAKES WEARING OUT BEFORE THE FRONT BRAKES. THIS HAPPENED IN APRIL IT IS NOW THE END OF JULY AND I STILL HAVE NOT NEEDED TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE REAR BRAKES TO WEAR OUT THAT FAST. *TR
I HAVE TO KEEP REPLACING THE REAR BRAKE PADS EVERY 9000 MILES. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND OUT WHY AND SAID MANY DO IT. I CALLED THE MFG AND THEY WERE NO HELP EITHER. I HAVE TO REPLACE THE REAR PADS EVERY 9 TO 10000 MILES. I BOUGHT CROSS DRILLED ROTORS AND SUPER PADS THE LAST TIME AND I THINK THEY ARE WEARING OUT ALSO. I BEEN TOLD BY A SPEED SHOP THE BRAKES ARE TOO SMALL IN THE REAR FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. THE ESP SYSTEM PUTS TOO MUCH PRESSURE TO THE REARS TO KEEP THE FRONT FROM NOSE DIVING. THATS WHY THEY STOPPED MAKING THEM. IT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AS MY BRAKES COULD GO. NO ONE CAN HELP ME WHY THEY KEEP WEARING OUT. THE CALIPERS , PADS, ROTORS BEEN REPLACED BY ME AND YET AFTER 31000 MILES I REPLACED THE PADS 3 TIMES ALREADY AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHY OTHER THEN IT IS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THE 2010 JEEP LIBERTY... *TR
I WAS FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GAS. INSTEAD OF SHUTTING OFF WHEN THE TANK WAS FULL APPROXIMATELY A QUART OF GAS SPLASHED UP ON ME AND ALL OVER THE REAR FENDER OF THE CAR. I AM PRETTY UPSET BECAUSE A JEEP DEALERSHIP IN ANDERSON, IN SAID THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. WE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH AN OLDER LIBERTY, AND WE WERE GIVEN A LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR THE REPAIR. I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED BY THAT WARRANTY. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN, SINCE IT HASN'T HAPPENED TO ME WITH THE PRIOR VEHICLES THAT I'VE OWNED, AND I WONDER IF JEEP HAS CORRECTED A PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF, OR IF THEY ARE JUST KICKING THE CAN DOWN THE ROAD. *TR
AFTER GASSING UP REMOVED HOSE AND FUEL SHOT OUT OF FILLER PIPE,OVER THE SIDE OF VEHICLE AND UNTO THE GROUND. AT NEXT FUEL STOP SAME THING HAPPENED,DIFFERENT SERVICE STATION. DEALER STATES IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAID THERE ARE NO KNOWN ISSUES WITH MY YEAR AND MAKE OF VEHICLE. FIX INVOLVES VALVE ON FUEL TANK WITH NEW TANK. *TR
I WAS DRIVING 50 MPH ON A PAVED HIGHWAY. THE AIR PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. A FEW SECONDS LATER THERE WAS A RUMBLE NOISE. I PULLED OVER AND LOOKED AT THE TIRES. ONE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT. I HAD THOUGHT I RAN OVER SOMETHING VERY LARGE CAUSING AN INSTANT FLAT. AFTER REMOVING THE TIRE, WE NOTED THAT THE TIRE WAS STILL GOOD. THE NUT HOLDING THE VALVE STEM/PRESSURE SENSOR IN HAD BROKEN. THE VALVE STEM/PRESSURE SENSOR COMPONENT WAS FOUND INSIDE THE TIRE. THE RESULT WAS A VERY LARGE GAP WHERE THE VALVE STEM WAS, ALLOWING THE TIRE TO INSTANTLY DEFLATE. WHEN CHECKING THE OTHER VALVE STEMS, ONE OF THE OTHER NUTS HOLDING THE VALVE STEMS IN WAS ALSO BROKEN. THE JEEP IS PARKED UNTIL WE CAN REMOVE ALL OF THE VALVE STEMS AND REPLACE THEM. WE WILL NOT DRIVE IT AS IT IS. WE WILL BE REPLACING THE VALVE STEM/PRESSURE SENSOR COMPONENT WITH THE OLD FASHION STYLE VALVE STEMS. I WOULD NOT CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE STOCK EQUIPMENT. I WOULD ALWAYS WORRY ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE VALVE STEM BROKE ON A FRONT TIRE GOING EXPRESSWAY SPEED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. *TR
DURING PRODUCTION OF MOST JEEP MODELS USING THE JR ENGINES, THERE WAS AN ISSUE IN THE COOLING SYSTEM CAUSING BLOCKAGE OF THE HEATER CORE, RADIATOR, ENGINE BLOCK, THERMOSTAT, AND/OR WATER PUMP. THE ISSUE IS WELL KNOWN BY JEEP OWNERS FROM MAINLY 2010-2012 JEEPS, BUT CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADMIT AND FIX THE ISSUE. THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE TYPICALLY HAS BEEN LINKED TO EITHER A) CASTING SAND USED IN THE PRODUCTION OF THE MOTOR, OR B) CHEMICALS IN THE COOLANT DEVELOPING A SAND-LIKE SLUDGE. MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN TWO FAILED HEATER CORES WITHIN 9 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED ON 25DEC2013 AND WAS REPAIRED 30DEC2013 AT 68,345 MILES. ON A TRIP AWAY FROM HOME IT FAILED AGAIN ON 11SEP2014 AT 85,157 MILES. ON THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE, WHEN THE HEATER CORE CLOGGED AND BLEW, THE SYSTEM BLEW HOT STEAM INTO THE CABIN AND COOLANT (AROUND A TEMPERATURE OF 200*F) POURED ONTO THE PASSENGERS SIDE FLOORBOARD. LUCKILY I DID NOT HAVE THE HEAT VENTS TURNED TO ME OR HAD A PASSENGER AT THE TIME BECAUSE I OR MY PASSENGER WOULD HAVE LIKELY BEEN INJURED. THE SAFETY ISSUED CALLED INTO QUESTION DUE TO THE ISSUE ARE A) BURNS RESULTING FROM FAILURE OF HEATER CORE, B) BECOMING STRANDED WITH NO HEAT DUE TO HEATER CORE OR RADIATOR FAILURE, C) BECOMING STRANDED BECAUSE OF ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO OVERHEATING CAUSED BY CLOGGED COOLING SYSTEM. *TR
AS WITH OTHER COMPLAINTS, FUEL SPILLS OUT AFTER REFUELING, SPLASHING ONTO CAR, GROUND, AND PERSON FUELING. DEALER REPLACED ESIM DETECTOR. THAT WORKED FOR 2 FILL UPS, AT 3RD FILL UP THE GUSHING STARTED AGAIN. DEALER SAID FUEL TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR

WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS INITIALLY STARTED, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ACTIVATED, THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AS EMPTY, THE RADIO WOULD NOT ACTIVATE, AND THE RPMS DECREASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
WAS PUTTING AFTER THE PUMP SHUT OFF, GAS CAME POURING OUT OF THE TANK DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP. THIS IS THE MAYBE THE SIXTH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME, BUT LOOKING ON THE INTERNET THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. YOU WOULD THINK JEEP WOULD RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONING WARNING MESSAGE ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE DECELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE HOWEVER, REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS AND O2 SENSOR AS A PRECAUTION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GAS, THE FUEL OVERFLOWS ONTO THE SIDE OF THE CAR, ONTO THE GROUND AND SOMETIMES, IF YOU FORGET AND DON'T STAND BACK FAR ENOUGH, IS WILL SPLASH ONTO WHO EVER IS FILLING THE TANK. THIS STARTED IN THE FALL OF 2013 AND CONTINUED OFF AND ON UNTIL THE WINTER OF 2014 WHEN IT BECAME AN EVERY FILL UP ISSUE. WE DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT OLDER MODELS OF JEEP LIBERTY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, AND HAD BEEN RECALLED TO HAVE THE TANKS REPLACED. WHEN WE CONTACTED JEEP THEY TOLD US THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP WITH THE COST OF REPLACING THE TANK. I HAD SOME OTHER WORK DONE THIS LAST WEEK ON MY LIBERTY AND FOUND OUT THAT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $710.00 FOR THE TANK AND $365.00 FOR THE LABOR. AGAIN WE CONTACTED JEEP, AND AGAIN WERE TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP WITH THE REPAIR. I DON'T THINK THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO SPEND OVER $1000.00 TO CORRECT AN ISSUE THAT JEEP IS AWARE OF AND SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, NOT ONLY WHEN FUELING, BUT IF YOU SPILL GAS ALL OVER THE GROUND AT THE GAS STATION, THERE COULD BE A FIRE. I DON'T KNOW IF IT COULD CAUSE A FIRE IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. I HOPE NOT.
EVERY TIME GAS IS PUT INTO THE TANK , THE GAS WILL BE FORCIBLY BLOWN BACK OUT OF THE FILLER NECK AND BACK ONTO THE PERSON HOLDING THE GAS NOZZLE!! THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED EVERY SIX MONTHS, ESPECIALLY WHEN FUEL WAS PLACED IN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED, BUT NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE.
