The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at undisclosed speeds, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the subframe was corroded. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and test-driven. The independent mechanic placed the vehicle on the lift and determined that there was a hole in the rear cross-body subframe. The contact called the local dealer and was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the vehicle could not be repaired under Technical Service Bulletin: 23-012-14. The failure mileage was unknown.
Fuel System. When I fill the gas tank completely the car will stall within a minute or two. I lose power steering, break booster. I can restart and the car will operate correctly. This has been happening for some time.
Total Erosion of front and rear subframe. Replaced front 2021 rear rot 2023 so bad mechanic shop wouldn’t let me drive it after needing a inspection sticker( couldn’t get). Never was notified for extended warranty about replacing this part. Huge safety issue.
I was on the freeway going about 75mph when all of a sudden it lost acceleration I couldn't get it to go more to 35 or 40 mph in and gear. Pulled to the side and let it sit for like 15 mins and it started up normal drove fine for a little bit. Then I went the back way home and didn't go over 50mph and it was fine got home and parked. Next morning went to leave and like 5 miles down the road only doing like 40 mind you. It completely goes out no acceleration just revs. Towed it home now it still starts and goes into gear but won't move just acts like its still in park.
The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while getting a routine oil change at the dealer the mechanic stated that there was a large hole in the subframe due to excessive rusting. The contact was informed that the subframe needed to be replaced. The contact recalled Technical Service Bulletin, NHTSA ID 10140027 (Suspension, Steering) from approximately 5 years ago and inquired if the vehicle could be repaired under the TSB. The contact was informed that the TSB was no longer valid. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the TSB was no longer valid. The approximate failure mileage was 136,560.
i never received a letter about X69 extendy warranty on cross member frame and now im told the bottom of my frame is all rusted and my back tires are bending in and i cant drive the car safely and needs replacement and that its been like this for awhile had i been informed of this x69 i would of taken my jeep in to get fixed i am extremely upset and would like to know if anyone can help me. and my air bag module light came on and i paid over 1000.00 for that to be repaired and i was told there was a recall on that and i never got that letter. i am very distraught over this.
After filling fuel tank to full, cranking the ignition, shifting into drive, and beginning propulsion, the engine will occasionally stall. This requires me to stop, shift into park, and restart and rev the engine to prevent it from happening again, which it sometimes does. This malfunction often takes place in high-traffic areas such as intersections or onramps to the freeway.
Engine Crossmember erosion very dangerous to drive. FCA extended warranty will NOT cover. Did not receive a letter of warning that was sent out to thousands.
The airbag clock spring fails. The horn will go off unexpectedly while driving and parked when the car is turned off This is causing drivers to look in panic and emergency causing distracted driving I took this to the dealer 2 years ago before someone posted this online what the issue was. They could not find the issue There are no lights or warnings that appear I know another person with a 2012 jeep wrangler and that air bag clock spring was recalled
My subframe cracked in half which caused my tire to blow out on the highway. It almost caused me to crash into the gardrail and potentially other cars. My jeep has 110k miles on it and now it’s not safe to drive.
I kept hearing an odd click, creek noise from the driver side front end. It sounded like something was hanging or something had broken off. I took it into a shop and it was discovered that the front sub frame was rotted in several places and had broken. When the rear was inspected, it is rotted to the point where you could push your finger through if you tried, and there was a section bent. I can no longer drive this vehicle, and I am still paying on my vehicle. I owe $4,900. The repairs would range from $2,500-$3,000, if it even can be repaired, just for the front. The shop stated there was a recall to fix this issue so I'm reaching out to see if this could be covered or what measures are offered if any in this situation.
Seat headrest deployed on its own hitting passenger’s back of head. Possible head injury. Incident happened today 4/10/2022 while husband was driving headrest deployed on its own on passenger’s side. Will contact dealership tomorrow. No warnings or messages were alerted by the vehicle.
Every time gas is filled to only the first click to stop or no click at all the car will stall after the fill. THE CAR STALLS EVERY TIME NOT ONCE IN AWHILE BUT EVERY TIME AFTER A FILL START IT UP THEN RUNS REAL RUFF AND STALLS AGAIN. Every time it is filled up. The car stalls while getting on the freeway or street. Dealer state it is the fuel roll over sensor built in the fuel tank. Jeep knows this is a problem they are passing the buck on to the car owners. This is a safety issue when the car stalls. I need to pull over every time this happens and it is every time. They have to fix and recall this safety issue.
The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while driving, the key released from the ignition switch. The contact also mentioned that the gear shifter would inadvertently shift out of gear independently. On one occasion, the vehicle was shifted into park and then independently shifted to drive. The contact was concerned that due to the failure it could potentially cause a crash. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000.
Every time I fill my gas tank it takes 20 minutes to fill it just keeps shutting gas off at handle. I have checked a Jeep forum it says it is a roll over valve in gas tank and entire tank has to be replaced at a cost of around 800.00 to 1000.00 dollars. It also caused engine to run rough and shut off a lot. This is something Jeep should have to repair at their cost not consumers. It has been going on for about 6-8 months and it scare me each time it happens Thank you
Cannot fill gas tank correctly. 30 seconds at a time due to gas tank roll over vale failure according to everything we have found on this issue with other owners. This is a serious problem that needs to be recalled. It cost around 800.00 to replace gas tank.. Please investigate issue and respond to [XXX]. Premature shutoff during fueling at gas pump (every two- to three-tenths of a gallon), causing long delays at each fill-up. Previous owners have reported diagnoses by certified mechanics of stuck rollover valves, which have been recalled in other Fiat-Chryslet products but not yet for the Jeep Patriot model.
While driving at highway speed and hitting a small pothole, the vehicle's handling and tracking deteriorated instantly. After that, loud scraping noises were heard when moving the vehicle forward or backwards. After getting the vehicle off the road we found that the Rear Suspension Cross Member rusted out and cracked, causing the rear suspension to be loose. Chrysler extended the warranty on this part due to premature rust for 10 years, but this is a safety defect and it should be handled as a recall and not just a warranty extension.
First the hood light came on-then the emergency brake light-then the air bag light-now my headlights wont go off. It was diagnosed as a faulty TIPM. I'm concerned the air bags might be deployed creating a major safety issue I've heard there are numerous complaints on TIPM's and that there may be a recall. Is that true?
Noticing a recall before, I'm concerned with my airbag light being on. Can it still be defected.
Sometimes when I turn my steering wheel the air bag light turns on. It does not always stay on and only comes on occasionally, usually when I make a turn. I got the diagnostics tan and the error code B1B02 Driver Airbag squib 1 circuit open. There was recently a couple of recalls (S61 occupant restraint controller and N01 reprogram occupant control restraint module) for my 2010 Jeep Patriot. I believe this issue with the error code I’m receiving is related to the recall issue, especially since the light does not stay on consistently. Dealership confirmed code B1B02 and would cost $972 for part and service.*JB Consumer stated complaint was filed on Sept. 4, 2021.
TRANSMISSION STARTED WITH A WHINING SOUND, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THE SUV THEN BEGAN TO SPUTTER, THEN IT STOPPED ACCELERATING ON THE INTERSTATE. I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE TO RESTART MY VEHICLE AND IT RAN FINE FOR A FEW MILES AND BEGAN TO DO THIS AGAIN. SOMETHING WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION. GOING TO COST A FORTUNE TO FIX. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS GLITCH IN THEIR VEHICLES.
ANYTIME RAINFALL IS EXPERIENCED, A HUGE LEAK OCCURS COMING THROUGH THE FRONT DOME LIGHT. IT APPEARS THIS LEAK IS CAUSED BY A DEFECT WITHIN THE DRAINAGE TUBES ATTACHED TO THE SUNROOF OF THE VEHICLE. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS, 8OZ-12OZ OF WATER COME SPLASHING DOWN ONTO THE CENTER CONSOLE FROM THE FRONT DOME LIGHT. THIS CAUSES POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO THE CARS RADIO AND POWER SOCKETS BELOW, AS WELL AS A HUGE VISUAL INTERFERENCE WHILE DRIVING. EACH TIME I AM DRIVING DURING RAINFALL OR SHORTLY AFTER, I MUST HOLD A CATCHING DEVICE (A CUP, ETC) TO CATCH THE WATER MANUALLY WHILE IT IS FALLING FROM THE CEILING, WHICH IMPAIRS MY ABILITY TO DRIVE SAFELY. THIS SEEMS TO BE A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH JEEP PATRIOTS 2007-2017 AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE. THIS LOOKS TO BE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. JEEP (CHRYSLER) DOES NOT COVER REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENTS FOR THIS PROBLEM.
THE HEADREST MECHANISM POPPED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND THERE WAS NO ACCIDENTS. IT WAS IN THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST THAT DID THIS. I HEARD A LOUD POP WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND IT SCARED ME. I WILL BE CALLING CHRYSLER TOMORROW REGARDING THIS BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT WON'T BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A PROBLEM FROM THE MANUFACTURER OF THIS JUST CAN HAPPEN WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT.
SINCE I BOUGHT MY KEEP IN JULY 2020 .. EVERYTIME I'VE FILLED MY GAS TANK ALL THE WAY .. AT FIRST MY JEEP WOULD DO A LITTLE JUMPING ON REGULAR STREE AS I DRIVE TOWARDS FREEWAY BUT AFTER A LITTLE BIT IT WOULD GO AWAY .. BUT AS I CONTINUE TO DRIVE FOR ABOUT 15 MIN ON FREEWAY MY JEEP BEGINS TO MAKE THIS WHINING SOUND AND THEN MY JEEP WOULD ACCELERATE ABOVE 5 ON ITS OWN (SCARY) THEN WOULD GO BACK TO NORMAL THIS USUALLY WAS WHILE GOING UP A HILL ON FREEWAY .. WHINING CONT. AND ACCELERATING MAY HAPPEN ONCE MORE WHILE GOING UP THE HILL .. THEN MY TRANSMISSION TEMP LIGHT WILL COME ON . I USUALLY PULL OVER TO LET MY CAR REST BECAUSE I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT AFTER IT HAD A MIND OF IT'S OWN. THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED AFTER I FILL MY TANK TO THE FULL .PLEASE FIX THIS I'M AFRAID IT WILL BLOW MY ENGINE WHILE ON FREEWAY ! THREE TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED AFTER A FULL TANK HAS BEEN APPLIED . SO STEP BY STEP I FILL TANK TO FULL AS I DRIVE ON STREET TOWARDS FREEWAY IT WILL JUMP A LITTLE BUT WILL GO AWAY BY TIME I GET ON FREEWAY ONCE ON FREEWAY CAR SEEMS FINE FOR ABOUT 10 -15 MIN THEN I START TO HEAR A WHINING SOUND ALMOST AS IF IT'S STUCK IN A GEAR .. AS I'M DRIVING UP A HILL ON FREEWAY THE WHINING GETS WORSE AND MY RPMS DON'T SEEM TO GO ABOVE 50 THEN MY MY ENGINE WILL JUST ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN ALL THE WAY PASSED 5 .. THEN RETURN TO NORMAL QUICKLY AFTER .. WHINING NOISE CONT. AS I'M STILL DRIVING ABOUT 10 MIN LATER MY TRANSMISSION TEMP LIGHT WILL COME ON . THAT'S WHEN I GET OFF FREEWAY AND PULL OVER TO LET MY CAR REST FOR A LITTLE BIT .. ONCE I GET BACK ON FREEWAY AFTER 10 MIN REST EVERYTHING IS BACK TO NORMAL NO MOR WHINING AND TEMP LIGHT IS GONE .. THIS IS AN ISSUE AFTER FILLING UP MY TANK TO THE FULL!
ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO I WAS WORKING ON BROOKLYN. I GOT OUT OF WORK AT 8 AND THE ROADS WERE BAD AS I WAS GOING DOWN JEFFERSON RD MY CAR STARTED SLIDING SO I JUST LET THE CAR GO BECAUSE I COULDN'T STOP IT IS INEVITABLE. SO MY CAR HIT THE DITCH BY THE CHURCH. I WAS PARANOID BUT I KNEW I WAS FINE SO I WAS ABLE TO TAKE MY CAR OUT OF THE DITCH AND I GOT DOWN AND CHECKED IT AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE BUT THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING MY COOLANT. SO I GOT IN MY CAR AND DROVE CAREFULLY AND SLOW UNTIL I GOT HOME. I GOT MY RADIATOR FIX BECAUSE IS THE ONLY CAR THAT I HAVE TO MOVE AROUND. I TOOK MY CAR TO GET CHECKED OUT BECAUSE I WAS SCARED THAT SOMETHING ELSE MIGHT HAVE BROKE. I TOOK IT TO BUDGET TIRE WHERE THEY TOLD ME ABOUT ALL THIS STUFF THAT I NEED IT FIX WHICH I KNEW I DIDN'T NEED THEM FIX BECAUSE I GOT MY CAR FIXED BEFORE WINTER HIT SO I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS GOING TO GET A SECOND OPINION SO I TOOK IT TO TUFTS AUTO SERVICE. THEY CHECKED MY CAR WHILE I WAS THERE AND SHOWED ME THAT NONE OF THE THINGS THAT BUDGET TIRE SAID IT WAS WRONG WAS WRONG. THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE EXCEPT THE SUBFRAME. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST AROUND 2500 TO GET IT FIXED WITH THEM BUT THAT TOLD ME THAT I COULD GET A RECALL BECAUSE OF SAFETY. MAIN REASON WHY I TOOK IT TO GET CHECKED OUT WAS BECAUSE OF SAFETY REASON. I DIDN'T WANT TO COST AN ACCIDENT SO I WANTED TO TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION THAT I NEED IT. THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THE JEEP DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THEY SHOULD BE A ABLE TO DO A RECALL SINCE IS A HAZARD DRIVING IT LIKE THAT. I TALKED TO THEM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD NO RECALL FOR MY CAR. I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM MY FRIEND. I HAVE INSURANCE AND EVERYTHING IS UP TO DATE.
FRONT CROSSMEMBER IS COMPLETELY ROTTED OUT. CHRYSLER EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR THIS TO 10 YEARS TO INCLUDE INSPECTIONS RATHER THAN RECALL TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. SINCE I BOUGHT THIS JEEP USED I WAS NOT INFORMED THIS COULD BE A PROBLEM OR THAT I WAS ENTITLED TO INSPECTIONS TO LOOK FOR THIS PROBLEM. I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT THIS WAS A CONTROL ARM ISSUE BUT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PUT ON THE HOIST, LOOKING AT IT FROM BELOW, THE FRONT CROSSMEMBER HAS NEARLY COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT. NO OTHER PARTS OF THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS EXTENT CORROSION DAMAGE. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT IN MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION OR CHOICE OF SURFACE COATING FOR THIS PART. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION WHICH CONSUMERS MAY BE COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF, UNLESS THEY WERE THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER. DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THEY HAD A CUSTOMER MAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM JUST TO HAVE THE CROSSMEMBER GIVE WAY, DROPPING THE THE ENGINE ONTO THE GROUND IN THE PARKING LOT. UNBELIEVABLE! I WISH I HAD PHOTOS FROM WHEN I ORIGINALLY HAD IT ON THE HOIST, BUT I DIDN'T GET THEM. IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW. CHRYSLER INITIALLY SAID THEY WOULD TRY TO OFFER SOME "GOOD WILL" BUT HAVE SINCE REJECTED THIS DUE TO THE $2350.00 ESTIMATE FOR REPAIR. NO WONDER THEY WEREN'T RECALLED. SHAME ON YOU CHRYSLER!
THE SUBFRAME HAS CORRODED CAUSING MY TIRE TO BREAK WHILE DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET. THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF BUT HAS NOT TO INFORMED THE PUBLIC ONLY SERVICE. IF I HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THIS WOULD OF BEEN A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT AND COULD OF CAUSED BODILY HARM.*DT*JB
EVERYTIME I FILL UP GAS TO FULL, THE ENGINE STALLS ON THE ROAD FOR COUPLE TIMES.

THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V668000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS) AND 13V233000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO THE FAILURES HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 169,000.
THE VEHICLE WILL CONTINUOUSLY STALL AND BUCK WHILE IDLING FOR ABOUT ONE MINUTE AFTER FILLING UP WITH FUEL. THIS HAS OCCASIONALLY HAPPENED ON THE ROAD WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION IMMEDIATELY AFTER LEAVING THE GAS STATION. IN THESE CASES, THE DRIVER IS PUT IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS, AS THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS-UP WHEN THE CAR STALLS. THE CAR IS NEVER "TOPPED-OFF" BUT FILLED UNTIL THE FIRST PUMP CLICK. AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE, THE PROBLEM WILL RESOLVE AND THE VEHICLE WILL RUN FINE UNTIL THE NEXT FUELING. THE EXACT CAUSE IS UNKNOWN, BUT THE EVAP SYSTEM OR FUEL TANK ROLLOVER-VALVE IS SUSPECTED AS THE CULPRIT. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT MANY OTHER JEEP PATRIOT OWNERS EXPERIENCE AND NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH. *TR
AFTER FUELING THE CAR, THE ENGINE STALLS AND THE CAR STOPS FREQUENTLY. IN TRAFFIC AND CAUSING A SERIOUS HAZARD TO ME, MY PASSENGERS AND THE OTHER DRIVERS IN THE AREA. THE CAR WOULD SPUTTER AND STALL AT STOP SIGNS AND LIGHTS, WHEN STOPPED, WHEN SLOWING (UNDER 40 MPH) AND WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A SLOW DOWN OR STOP.
VEHICLE STALLS ON IDLE AFTER FILLING UP THE TANK. DOESN'T STALL WHEN IN MOTION. THE PROBLEM USUALLY OCCURS A FEW MILES AFTER FILLING UP THE TANK; ON A STOP LIGHT, STOP SIGN, ETC. IT IS INTERMITTENT AND MOSTLY HAPPENS AFTER REFUELING.
I HAVE BOUGHT A 2010 JEEP LIBERTY AND NOW NOTICED THAT THE SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBERS ARE ROTTING OUT AND THERE IS A HOLE IN THE FRONT CROSSMEMBER. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND OUT THIS WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE PATRIOT, COMPASS, AND A DODGE CALIBER. YET THERE WAS NEVER A RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING, LOSS OF POWER. WAS DRIVING 60 MPH, LOST POWER AND CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, BUT RPMS WOULD HIT 6K. HAD TO CHANGE ALTENATOR. WITH BRAND NEW ALTENATOR I GOT 90 MILES . THEN CAR WOULD ONLY HIT 20 MPH , AND RPMS WOULD HIT 6K WITH NO ACCELERATION. PULL OVER AND SIT 5 MINUTES THEN CAR WOULD ACCELERATE NORMAL. BUT THE PROBLEM HAPPENS EVERYTIME I START CAR AND GO TO DRIVE. HAVE READ THAT THE HAS BEEN AN ECU AND OTHER ISSUES AND RECALLS FOR IT WITH MANY OTHERS COMPLAINING. I WAS ON HIGHWAY. THERE SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE RADIO AS IT WITH THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF AND NO KEY IN IGNITION, THE STEREO MAKES NOISE LIKE IT'S TRYING TO WORK. FEEL VERYVUNSAGE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURING ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 90K MILES .
IN THE CITY OF KALAMAZOO MICHIGAN, I WAS DRIVING AND MADE IT OVER A CHUNK OF ICE(THE ICE BUILD UP FROM THE PLOW TRUCKS.) IT WAS SIMILAR TO THE WAY TAKING A SPEED BUMP TO FAST WOULD FEEL. WHILE I WAS GOING NO MORE THAN 30MPH OVER THIS CHUNK/BUMP WHEN I HEARD A LOUD CRACK THAT DID NOT SOUND GOOD AND AFTER THAT MY VEHICLE COULD NOT STEER BECAUSE THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED THROUGH MAKING IT VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE BEFORE I HAD TO PULL OVER.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR CROSSMEMBERS SHOWED EVIDENCE OF CORROSION. THE CONTACT CALLED ROMANO CHRYSLER JEEP (215 W GENESEE ST, FAYETTEVILLE, NY 13066, (315) 637-3101) AND WAS INFORMED THAT BOTH CROSSMEMBERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. MY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND MY CAR STARTED JERKING, SLOWING AND I LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IF I HAD BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE.

THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.

WHEN I FILL THE GAS TANK ALL THE WAY, THE JEEP STALLS SHORTLY AFTERWARD. THAT TURNS OFF THE POWER STEERING. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS. POTENTIALLY DEADLY IF IT HAPPENS WHILE CORNERING AT HIGHER SPEEDS. FORUMS ONLINE ARE SAYING THAT IT'S A MANUFACTURER FLAW IN THE ROLLOVER VALVE INSIDE THE GAS TANK, AND THAT THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT, IS TO REPLACE THE TANK. THAT IS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. THE FORUMS INDICATE THAT IT IS BECOMING A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT JEEP SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS DANGEROUS FACTORY FLAW AND PAY FOR THE REPAIRS.

AFTER CHECKING THE TRANSMISSION HE FOUND METAL FILINGS IN IT AND SAID I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HEARING THIS AS THE JEEP ONLY HAS ABOUT 68000 MILES ON IT. I CONTACTED THE JEEP DEALER IN SCRANTON PA AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I CONTACTED DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION GARAGES AND WAS QUOTED PRICES FROM OVER $3000 TO $6000. READING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLES PROBLEMS WITH JEEP VEHICLES THIS SEEMS LIKE A BIG ONGOING PROBLEM WITH JEEP TRANSMISSIONS.I HOPE YOUR AGENCY CAN HELP US OUT SO WE CAN GET SOME SATISFACTION FROM JEEP.

WE WERE TOLD IF THE DEALERSHIP HAD DONE THE REPAIRS/REPLACEMENT THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO CHARGE BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRENTY....WE ARE SEEKING A REFUND FOR THE PARTS UNDER THE WARRENTY ONLY...NOT THE ENTIRE BILL WHICH INCLUDED THE COST OF 2 NEW TIRES THAT WERE A ROUTINE PURCHASE....THE INVOICE IS ATTACHED WITH THE CURRENT WORK, THE ORIGINAL WARRENTY WORK AND THE AMOUNT OF $316.93 IS WHAT WE'RE SEEKING TO BE REIMBURSED FOR., NOT THE TOTAL OF $811.34---THE INVOICE IS BROKEN OUT FOR YOUR REVIEW.
