PCM NEEDING TO BE 'UPDATED' AND NOW MY CAR IS STOPPING WHILE DRIVING. THE BATTERY, TRACTION CONTROL, AND ENGINE LIGHT ALL WENT OFF AT THE SAME TIME AND STOPPED MY CAR. LOST CONTROL OF STEERING AND IT WOULD NOT GO OVER 20MPH. HOW DANGEROUS!! READ ONLINE THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS AND JEEP HASN'T MADE THIS A RECALL YET? WHAT A SHAME. PATHETIC. HAPPENED 5/17/19 THOUGH THIS FILE ISN'T ACCEPTING 2019 DATES..???
I WAS DRIVING VERY SLOWLY ON A SIDE STREET NEAR A PARK. I MADE A U-TURN AND AS I FINISHED COMING OUT OF THE TURN, MY VEHICLE ENGINE STALLED. I WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF OF THE ROAD. I WAS NEARLY HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE.
WHEN TURNING ON A HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN THE BRAKES DID NOT STOP IT . I ALMOST HIT A TREE THE VEHICLE SLOWED AFTER HITTING THE ISLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED HAD IT REPLACED THE VEHICLE HAS 35000 MILES ON IT VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION
JEEP WAS SKIPPING WHILE DRIVING. IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN, IT WAS JUST MOVE SLOWLY. I BROUGHT IT TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST , HE TOOK IT OUT OF MY CAR FOR DIAGNOSTIC BECAUSE HE CLAIMED HE COULD NOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM BY DRIVING OR COMPUTER. CHARGED $840 AND STATED THE TRANSMISSION COULD NOT BE REPAIRED IT HAD TO BE REBUILT. I COULD NOT AFFORD THE PRICE QUOTED. THEY PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN MY TRUNK.
ENGINE THROTTLE COMPONENT LIGHT CAME ON GOING APPR. 45 MPH. IDLING WHILE DRIVING. PATRIOT AT 85,000 MILES.
MY ENGINE HAD BEEN ON FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND THEN TODAY AS I WAS DRIVING THE RED FLASH LIGHT CAME ON WHICH WHEN I READ MY MANUAL, IT'S MY ETC. MY JEEP STARTED SLOWING DOWN AND I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED MY JEEP OFF AND READ MY MANUAL. IT STATED I COULD CONTINUE TO DRIVE AND GET IT SERVICE. I DROVE IT HOME. AS I READ THE COMPLAINTS ON HERE FOR THE SAME THING, THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL OR SHOULD BE NOW, BECAUSE IT IS VERY DANGEROUS IF IT ACCELERATES ON IT'S ON AND CAN'T STOP.
AIRBAG LIGHT ON AND OFF. LIMP MODE TURNING ON. CAR GOING FROM 45 MPH TO 15 MPH
WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE ESPECIALLY WHEN GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY CAR JUMPS AND WILL NOT GO. RED LIGHTNING BOLT SYMBOL COMES ON THE DASHBOARD. HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 4 TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK. ALSO SEEMS TO BE GETTING A LOT WORSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP PATRIOT. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WITH FORCE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING OR IMPACT. THE DRIVER'S HEAD AND NECK WERE IMPACTED, BUT MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED DUE TO THE FAILURE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V233000 (AIR BAGS), ALTHOUGH THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY MALFUNCTION: WHILE DRIVING 2014 JEEP PATRIOT AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH IN A SEMI-RESIDENTIAL AREA, SHORTLY AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY, EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN LOSS OF SPEED AND STEERING CONTROL. RED BOLT ILLUMINATED ON DASHBOARD. CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 15 MPH AND STEERING AND BRAKING BECAME DIFFICULT. CAR IMMEDIATELY TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY (PART 68420395AA) WAS REPLACED WITH A FACTORY PART. AFTER REVIEWING OTHER COMPLAINTS, THIS SEEMS LIKE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE REFERENCED PART, AND OWNER/DRIVER IS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE RESOLUTION OF REPLACING A FAULTY PART WITH WITH A FAULTY PART FOR A TOTAL OF $800. MILEAGE ON CAR AT TIME OF TBA FAILURE = 69,850 WITH NO PREVIOUS INDICATORS OF UPCOMING FAILURE. FURTHER RESOLUTION IS NEEDED TO ENSURE SAFETY OF ALL DRIVERS.
MY DAUGHTER WAS GOING 30 MPH IN HER JEEP OVER A BRIDGE. THE CAR INFRONT OF HER STOPPED SUDDENLY TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. SHE WAS UNABLE TO STOP DUE TO ICE AND HIT THE CAR INFRONT OF HER. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THEN THEY WERE HIT FROM BEHIND BY A TRUCK GOING 40 MPH. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ROUTE 72 IN GENOA IL, GOING STRAIGHT. NOT UPLOADING PICTURE DUE TO LICENSE PLATES SEEN.
THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS SEEM TO BE CRACKING IN THE SAME PLACE. BUT THE MOST POPULAR ISSUES IS THE RED LIGHTNING BOLT- CHECK ENGINE LIGHT(U0401)- AND THE TRACTION CONTROLF LIGHTS COME ON THE DASH AND THE CAR IS STUCK IN "LIMP MODE" AND EVERYONE IS SAYING ON JEEPS SITE THAT ITS THE THROTTLE BODY AND THEN SOME STILL HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER THAT. I SAW ONLINE THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE BREAKS, THE ENGINE IN 2013, AND THE AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BUT I GO TO ALL THE OFFICIAL SITES AND WHEN I USE MY VIN THE ONLY RECALL IS FOR THE SEATBELT. PLEASE HELP
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 JEEP PATRIOT, THE CAR STARTED LOSING POWER WHILE ACCELERATING UPHILL, IT ALSO VEERED OFF THE ROAD, LIKE IT WAS STEERING ITSELF. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND A RED LIGHTNING BOLT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. THANKFULLY I WASN'T FAR FROM MY MECHANIC AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO MY MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS NEEDING A THROTTLE BODY. THIS COULD BE AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP PATRIOT. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STARTED LOSING ACCELERATION AND POWER. THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO SUGGESTED THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ZEIGLER CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (3939 STADIUM DR, KALAMAZOO, MI 49008, (269) 743-4142) WHERE IT TOOK SEVERAL DAYS TO BE SERVICED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE ENGINE CONTAINED DEBRIS, WHICH CAUSED IT TO SEIZE. THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THIS WAS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE. THE CONTACT WAS STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER REGARDING THE NEXT STEPS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,100.
MY JEEP PATRIOT IS 5 YEARS OLD AND ALREADY I HAD THE THROTTLE BODY GO BAD, STALLED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY AND I WAS GOING ABOUT 60 MPH JERKED ME AND MY PASSENGER, HAD IT REPLACED ALSO THE ABS MODULE CONTROL WHICH ALSO GAVE OUT 2 MONTHS LATER WHILE I WAS DRIVING, VERY DANGEROUS, CAR STILL NOT RUNNING GOOD!! CAR SAT FOR 3 MONTHS AFTER INCIDENT
MY CAR ISN'T EVEN 5 YEARS OLD AND THE LIGHTENING BOLT COMES ON AND MY CAR SLOWS DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. IT TAKES AT LEAST TWO TRIES TO TURN THE CAR ON BEFORE IT ACTUALLY STARTS AND NOW IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE LIGHTENING BOLT COMES ON AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WILL JERK AND WON'T GO MORE THAN 35 AND WON'T RESPOND TO ACCELERATING. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE AND SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING WITH A CAR LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD.
I TOOK THE CAR TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE AND IT SAID THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL AND MY CAR LOSES POWER WITHOUT NOTICE.
SAME COMPLAIN AS EVERYONE ELSE. MY JEEP PATRIOT 2014 SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND STARTED JERKING WHILE DRIVING NOT ALLOWING ME TO ACCELERATE. THREE LIGHTS CAME ON THE THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT, ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT. REPLACED THROTTLE BODY MY SELF AND I WANT MY DANG RECALL OR A LAWSUIT FILED BECAUSE THIS COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT AND LIFES ARE INVOLVED.
I WAS DRIVING 60MPH AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT KICK ON. JEEP DROPS DOWN TO 40 MPH AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE, GOING UPHILL IT DROPS TO ABOUT 20 MPH. IF YOU GO TO STOP WHEN THESE LIGHTS ARE ON THE VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD AND IT HARD IDLES. THROWS CODES OF ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL MALFUNCTION. VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND DEALER RECOMMENDS NOT DRIVING IT. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL.
I HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AS EVERYONE ELSE. THE THROTTLE LIGHTNING BOLT FLASHES, CAR WONT SHIFT OR DO MORE THAN 35. IT WONT RESPOND TO ACCELERATING. IT JERKS ALL OVER THE PLACE WHEN AT A LOW SPEED. I WENT OFF OF THE ROAD IN THE SNOW BUT WAS OK. WHEN IT FIRST STARTED IT KICKED INTO A LOWER GEAR, JERKED AND THE CAR SLID. YOU ARE GOING TO GET PEOPLE KILLED IGNORING THIS AND NOW HERE IS WRITTEN PROOF THAT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. DO HEAR THAT, CHRYSLER? BECAUSE YOURE ABOUT TO.
WHEN DRIVING, CAR WILL SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN, AND THE RED LIGHTNING BOLT WILL COME ON AS WELL AS THE TRACTION CONTROL. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL. IT WILL BE FINE FOR A COUPLE DAYS, AND THEN OUT OF NOWHERE THE ISSUE WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS TO WHERE I LOSE CONTROL IS UNKNOWN. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE, AND HAVE FOUND MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. I SEE A LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I ONLY HAVE 51,000 MILES ON MY CAR. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
I'VE HAD 3 FUEL PUMPS REPLACED AND COUNTLESS TIMES MY CAR HASN'T STARTED JUST BECAUSE LIKE NOW, WHICH BROUGHT ME HERE. THIS NEEDS A RECALL IMMEDIATELY BUT EVERY TIME I LOOK THERE ISN'T ONE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW IN 2014 AND IT STILL ONLY HAS 45,539 MILES ON IT. A WEEK AGO I STARTED MY CAR & THEN IT TURNED OFF. LUCKILY I WAS AT I'VE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY SO WITH ALL OF THIS WE NEED A RECALL.
I HAVE A 2014 JEEP PATRIOT LATITUDE THAT HAS 48100 MILES ON IT . ITS WAS FINE UP UNTIL KNOW WHERE IT WILL STALL OUT WHILE DRIVING AND SHUT DOWN AND THE STABILITY LIGHT WOULD COME ON . I WOULD PULL OVER AND THE CAR WOULD RESTART . IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING A LOT AND ITS SCARY NOT TO KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN . SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED . JEEP SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ON THE CARS AND FIX THE PROBLEM . THE PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED WHILE TURNING A CORNER AND ON STREETS AND THEN WENT TO STALL OUT ON A HIGHWAY.
MY JEEP ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS NOW HAS COMPLETELY SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THE MOMENTS I'M IN TRAFFIC ARE LUCKY, BECAUSE WHEN IT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY, I LOST MY S@$T. I WAS IN A VERY SCARY SITUATION AND EXTREMELY LUCKY TO HAVE HAD PULLED AWAY WITHOUT BEING OR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN I'M IN TRAFFIC, AT SLOW MOVING SPEEDS, AND ON THE FREEWAY, INTERMITTENTLY. SOMETIMES IT WILL KICK BACK ON BEFORE I HAVE TO PULL OFF. BUT ALWAYS IN TRAFFIC IF IT HAPPENS IT WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. NO REAL PATTERN AT ALL, JUST RANDOM.
THE HORN STOPPED WORKING ON THIS CAR ABOUT FIVE MONTHS AGO. I LOOKED FOR A FUSE OR RELAY AND DISCOVERED ON THE WEB THAT THIS WAS A COMMON CHRYSLER PROBLEM ACROSS ALL PRODUCTS. I REPLACED THE CLOCK SPRING WHICH APPEARED TO BE IDENTIFIED AS MOST PROBABLE PROBLEM ON THE WEB; NOT SO. TWO MONTHS AGO I WENT TO THE DEALER AND SAID FOR $150 THEY WOULD IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. THE HORN ITSELF WORKED, WHICH I TESTED. I TOOK THE STEERING WHEEL APART ONCE AGAIN AND TRACED THE TWO OPERATIONAL HORN WIRES BACK TO THE THE STEERING WHEEL MOUNTED CRUISE CONTROL MODULE. FOR GRINS I WENT TO THE LOCAL SERVICE YARD AND OBTAINED SAID MODULE. REPLACED THE MODULE AND NOW THE HORN WORKS. FIRST, WHY WOULD THE HORN CIRCUIT BE SO CONVOLUTED SINCE A RELAY AND FUSE WAS THE NORM SINCE THE 1940'S. SECOND, FOR SAFETY'S SAKE, THE COMMON ITEMS NEEDED TO BE WORKING IN A CAR ARE HORN, LIGHTS, BRAKES; THESE ARE COMMON MINIMUM INSPECTION ITEMS. CHRYSLER SHOULD MAKE GOOD AND REPAIR/ REPLACE CARS WITH THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THIS MAJOR FAILURE COULD HAVE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES BECAUSE THE MINDSET OF MOST BACKYARD MECHANICS IS THAT THEY CAN FIX IT AND MANY HAVE CONCEDED FAILURE AND HAVE PUT A HORN BUTTON ON THE DASH AND WIRED TO A BETTER HORN , FUSE AND RELAY. CHECK THE WEB AND YOU CAN SEE THE MULTITUDE OF TRAFFIC ON THE CHRYSLER HORN PROBLEMS. I TRIED TO GET WIRING DIAGRAMS FOR THIS CAR WHICH COST $100 BUT I STOPPED WHEN I FOUND THAT THEY WERE NOT COMPLETE. I BELIEVE THAT CHRYSLER LIKE PROBABLY ALL MANUFACTURERS HAVE LET THE ELECTRONICS TAKE OVER COMMON SENSE.
MANY, MANY TIMES THIS JEEP HAS OVERHEATED WHILE DRIVING UP STEEP GRADES AND ALL POWER SHUTS DOWN THE CAR EVENTUALLY STOPS.
JEEP STALLS WHILE DRIVING AT DIFFERANT SPEEDS WITH OUT WARNING. MY JEEP HAS DONE THIS MANEY TIMES WETHER GOING 60 OR 40 ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN A SMALL TOWN. HAD THE DEALER LOOK AT IT THEY HAD IT FOR A HOUR AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT .HAS DONE IT SINCE THEN MENY TIMES.
WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE MY VEHICLE A RED LIGHNING BOLT APPEARS ON MY DASH THAN I AM UNABLE TO GAS THE VEHICLE. THAN THE LIGHT TURNS OFF AND THE CAR IS NORMAL UNTIL IT NEEDS TO ACCELERATE AGAIN THAN THE PROBLEM WILL OCCUR AGAIN. THE LIGHT IS NOT ON LONG ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO USE A CODE READER TO BE ABLE TO FIND OUT THE ISSUR AT HAND. IF IT IS A SENOR OR SOMETHING WITH THE THROTTLE OR BOTH. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE BUT ONLY ONCE THIS TIME IT HAS BEEN A CONTINOUS ON AND OFF SITUATION THAT I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE COMFORTABLY.
DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, AND THE ELECTRICAL INDICATOR CAME ON AS WELL AS POWER REDUCED DOWN TO 25-30 MILES PER HOUR DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR. DROVE CAR ON SHOULDER OF HIGHWAY UNTIL CLOSEST EXIT FOR SAFETY. TOWED VEHICAL TO MECHANIC, AND THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP PATRIOT. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE CRANKSHAFT. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP PATRIOT. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH THE TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. AFTER CONTINUED DRIVING FOR TEN MINUTES THE VEHICLE STARTED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GARY MILLER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM 5746 PEACH ST, ERIE, PA 16509 (814) 868-3635 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A TRANSMISSION FLUSH WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 49,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
BOUGHT WITH 33000 MILES. THE BRAKES MAKE LOUD NOISE WHEN BACKING UP FIRST DRIVE OF THE DAY.
TKATA RECALL. I OWN A 2014 JEEP PATRIOT AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WHICH STARTED JUST A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED IT NEW. THE FIRST ISSUE WAS THE TRANSMISSION HOSE CAME OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THIS CAUSED THE CAR TO STALL AND I WAS NEARLY UNABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR TO GET PULLED OVER. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE HOSE CLAMP, FILLED WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID AND RELEASED IT BACK TO ME. HAD I KNOWN WHAT HELL I WOULD BE DEALING WITH AFTERWARDS I WOULD HAVE NEVER BROUGHT IT BACK HOME. I NOW HAVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES (I BELIEVE). THE CAR WILL OVERHEAT WITHIN MINUTES OF DRIVING IT. I HAVE NO HEAT. THE ETC LIGHT COMES ON OFTEN AND THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW A CONSTANT. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP TO MANY TIMES TO COUNT NOW AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT. JEEP HAS OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE AND STATES THAT THERE ARE NO OTHER ISSUES LIKE MINE, BUT WHEN I LOOK AT BLOGS THERE ARE THOUSANDS. I FEEL DOOPED BY JEEP. THIS COMPLAINT IS MY LAST RESORT BECAUSE I DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. I HAVE TRIED TO TRADE THIS CAR BUT THE AMOUNT I OWE AND BEING THAT THIS CAR IS OF ZERO VALUE DUE TO ALL OF THE ISSUES, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TRADE IN. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,002.
THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT HAS FAILED. THE STEEL PIN WHICH HOLDS THE RESTRAINT IN THE CLOSED/SET POSITION TORE THROUGH THE PLASTIC THAT IS DESIGNED TO HOLD IT IN PLACE. THE SYSTEM HAS NOT DEPLOYED, BUT HAS RELEASED BECAUSE OF A MATERIAL FAILURE, AND CAN NOT BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, UNOCCUPIED, PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, ENGINE OFF, AND THE KEY IN THE HOUSE. HAD I BEEN DRIVING WHEN THE PLASTIC FAILED, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE GETTING RANDOMLY PUNCHED IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD WHILE MOVING DOWN THE ROAD, CREATING A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I AM CONCERNED THE PASSENGER SEAT COULD HAVE THE SAME FAILURE AND INJURE MY WIFE.

STATE ST, BRISTOL, TN) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE THROTTLE SYSTEM WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
WHILE DRIVING, THROTTLE SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON ALONG WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, AND FOUR WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT. TOTAL LOSS OF POWER AND ENGINE BEGINS TO FLUTTER TO WHERE IT WANTS TO STALL. HAVE TO STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT THE JEEP OFF AND ATTEMPT TO REGAIN POWER, TO WHICH THE SAME THING HAPPENS AGAIN.
PATRIOT WILL SHAKE/VIBRATE REALLY BAD WHEN IN DRIVE AND SITTING IDLE (LIKE AT A RED LIGHT WITH THE FOOT ON THE BRAKE). IF I PLACE IT IN PARK, NEUTRAL OR START DRIVING THE HEAVY VIBRATION GOES AWAY.
THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS REPLACING AFTER SUDDENLY LOSING POWER TO THE VEHICLE. THE RED LIGHT COMES ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE. SIMPLE RESEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM, YET JEEP WANTS OVER $800 TO REPLACE IT. THIS IS TRULY DECEPTIVE AND SHOULD BE REPLACED ON ALL VEHICLES WITHOUT COST PARTICULARLY GIVEN HOW DANGEROUS OF A SITUATION IT CREATES WITHOUT ADVANCED WARNING.
ALREADY ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING AT 70 MPH, I NOTICED THAT IT WAS HARDER TO ACCELERATE. I WAS PUSHING DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL AND MY JEEP WAS NOT PICKING UP ANY SPEED. THE TACHOMETER WAS PUSHING THE LINE IN READ BETWEEN 7 & 8 AS I WOULD TRY TO ACCELERATE. COUPLE DAYS LATER DRIVING IN TOWN, IT DID IT AGAIN ONLY IT TOOK AWHILE TO ACCELERATE AND GET TO 30-40 MPH. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO AUTO-ZONE TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED. THEY TOLD ME TO UNPLUG THE BATTERY AND HAVE IT SIT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS TO SEE IF THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME OFF. WEEK LATER I'M STILL STUCK WITHOUT MY VEHICLE. REPORTED IT TO MOPAR AND THEY ADVISED ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE IT FIXED. MY JEEP ONLY HAS UNDER 90K MILES ON IT. I'M HOPING THIS ISSUE BECOMES A RECALL BEING THAT THE STORIES HAVE BEGUN TO SURFACE LATE NOVEMBER 2018.

TOOK MY CARE IN TO A MUFFLER REPAIR SHOP THINKING I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE EXHAUST AND IT TURNS OUT THERE MAY BE SOMETHING WRO G WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T EVEN HAVE 46,000 MILES ON MY CAR YET. PLEASE ORDER A RECALL ON THIS MATTER. DANGEROUS ON HIGHWAY. THANKS

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN 2014 JEEP PATRIOT THE BOLT LIGHT(ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL) CAME ON AND I LOST VEHICLE SPEED RAPIDLY ALMOST AS IF IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT. AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT SEEMED FINE BUT NOW IT JUST BLINKS ON OCCASION AND I LOSE SPEED WHEN IT COMES ON. I WONT TRAVEL ON HIGHWAY ANYMORE UNTIL IT IS FIXED. I TOOK VEHICLE TO AUTO SHOP AND THEY SAID I NEED A NEW ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL AND THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 45,000 MILES ON IT. ITS DANGEROUS WHEN TRAVELLING BECAUSE YOU JUST SUDDENLY LOSE SPEED.
THE HOUSING THAT HOLDS THE SEATBELT TO THE SIDE OF THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT HAS COME LOOSE. THERE APPEARS TO BE A BOLT MISSING AND SOME PLASTIC HAS BROKEN OFF. THIS IS CAUSING THE HOUSING TO NOT BE SECURED TO THE SEAT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DICK POE CHRYSLER/JEEP (6501 MONTANA AVE, EL PASO, TX 79925) ON TWO OCCASIONS AND THEY REPLACED THE REAR BRAKE PADS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
