TAKATA INFLATOORS: THE VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE LOSS OF AIR BAG AND SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER DEPLOYMENT CAPABILITY IN CERTAIN CRASH EVENTS DUE TO A SHORTING CONDITION RESULTING IN NEGATIVE VOLTAGE TRANSIENT THAT TRAVELS TO THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER VIA THE FRONT IMPACT SENSOR WIRES. MY VEHICLE WAS ISSUED A SAFETY RECALL IN SEPTEMBER OF 2016 AND A REMEDY HAS YET TO BE OFFERED ON THE ISSUE AND IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 10 MONTHS. I ASSUMED SAFETY WOULD HAVE BEEN SOMETHING THEY ADDRESSED IN A MORE TIMELY MANNER.

THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER MUST BE REPLACED.-I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED TO HAVE THIS REPLACED ON MY VEHICLE YET!! I CALL JEEP AND APPARENTLY THE RECALL IS INCOMPLETE?! HOW COME JEEP IS NOT TAKING CARE OF THIS. I AM CONCERNED FOR THOSE WHO RIDE IN THIS CAR. WHAT DO I DO? I WAS ASSURED WHEN I BOUGHT THE JEEP ~1YR AGO FROM THE DEALER THAT THE RECALL WOULD BE HANDLED WITHIN A FEW MONTHS.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND MY TRANSMISSION OVERHEAT LIGHT CAME ON, WITHOUT WARNING, THE JEEP SLOWED TO 40. VERY DANGEROUS ON THE INTERSTATE WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 75. LUCKILY I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND PULLED OVER. I COULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED AND KILLED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS!!! DEALER SAID SINCE THERE WERE NOT ANY CODES SHOWING, THEY COULD NOT FIX IT.
THE TRANSMISSION FILL PIPE BROKE OFF AND WAS HANGING UNDER THE CAR. LUCKILY WE NOTICED THAT SOMETHING WAS HANGING OFF THE CAR WHILE IT WAS PARKED, MY BOYFRIEND REACHED UNDER THE CAR TO SEE WHAT IT WAS AND IT CAME OFF IN HIS HAND. HAD IT FALLEN OFF WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT OR IT COULD HAVE FALLEN OFF AND WE WOULD HAVE NEVER NOTICED IT AND HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION AT SOME POINT. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT PRETENDED LIKE THEY'D NEVER HEAR OF THIS HAPPENING BEFORE BUT A QUICK INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT MANY PATRIOT AND CALIBER OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED. I ALSO SUSPECT THAT A LOT OF THESE HAVE FALLEN OFF WITHOUT THE OWNERS EVEN REALIZING IT.

RECEIVED NOTICE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2016 THAT THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER WAS FAULTY AND WOULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF AIRBAG OR SEATBELT PRETENSIONER IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. I HAVE CONTACTED FCA THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE AS WELL AS CALLED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER (JIM CLICK AUTO MALL) AND ARE TOLD ONLY THAT THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE. A YEAR AND NO PARTS IS NOT FIXING A PROBLEM THAT COULD LEAD TO DEATH IN A "TIMELY MANNER".

THIS RECALL HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AS INCREASING RISK OF INJURY IN THE EVENT OF CERTAIN CRASHES, HOWEVER, THERE IS STILL NOT A REMEDY FROM THE DEALER. THE ORIGINAL RECALL DATE IS SEPTEMBER 2016, SO IT HAS BEEN NEARLY A YEAR. I FEEL THAT IT WOULD BE IMPERATIVE THAT A REMEDY IS PROVIDED IN A TIMELY FASHION TO PREVENT THE NEED TO PROVIDE A RECOUNT OF AN INJURY DUE TO A CRASH. NEARLY A YEAR SEEMS EXTENSIVE FOR PROVIDING A SUITABLE RESOLUTION TO AN ISSUE.
IT HAS BEEN 11 MONTHS SINCE THIS RECALL. I CONTACTED JEEP - THERE STILL ISN'T A FIX. AIR BAGS & SEAT BELTS THAT DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY ARE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. MY DAUGHTER IS A NEW DRIVER & I'M SCARED TO LET HER DRIVE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR SAFETY & IT IS NOT SAFE. I FEEL LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE SUSPENSION - IT'S NOW RATTLING UNDER THE FRONT TIRE.
I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR 2 1/2 YEARS. IN THOSE INITIAL 2 YEARS, I WORKED FOR A CHRYSLER DEALER BUT HAD TO TRAVEL 50 MILES ONE WAY TO WORK, SO I PUT 100 MILES A DAY ON MY VEHICLE JUST TO WORK AND BACK. RECENTLY I HAD THE PCM REPLACED TWICE WHICH NEVER FIXED THE ISSUE, ONLY TO NEED A NEW GROUND WIRE. THE VEHICLE HAS WORKED FINE FOR A MONTH, UNTIL NOW. NOW, I HAVE A CRACKED MANIFOLD. THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE AND WHEN I SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY CAN NOT TAKE CARE OF IT EITHER. THEY'RE REASON IS THAT THE MANIFOLD CRACKED BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. THE MILEAGE IS HIGH BECAUSE I WORKED FOR A CHRYSLER DEALER WHICH WAS 50 MILES AWAY!!!! I AM APPALLED AT THE FACT THAT NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE CARE OF AN ISSUE THAT A 2 YEAR OLD VEHICLE SHOULD NOT HAVE. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM CHRYSLER AGAIN AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!
"AIR BAG RECALL" WAS IN AN ACCIDENT IN MY JEEP PATRIOT AND HAD THE CAR TOTALED OUT. THE SIDE AND FRONT AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED WHEN I WAS HIT.
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START FROM A STATIONARY POSITION INCLUDING ANY ELECTRICAL EXCEPT FOR "NO BUS" ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS BEGAN AROUND 34,500 MILES IN AUGUST 2016. I TOOK MY VEHICLE THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE. I RETURNED IN DECEMBER TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND NOTHING COULD BE FOUND. IN FEBRUARY OF 2017 I WAS ABLE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE FOR 3 DAYS BUT STILL NOTHING COULD BE FOUND. THIS DOES NOT OCCUR EVERY TIME BUT THE ONLY TEMPORARY SOLUTION IS TO DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT THE BATTERY, WHICH WAS WHAT I USED UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO HAVE IT TOWED IN. IN JANUARY OF 2018 I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP WHEN THE ISSUE OCCURRED. THE FINAL SOLUTION WAS THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE WAS REPLACED.
ON THREE OCCASIONS IN THE PAST TWO YEARS AND THREE MONTHS MY 2014 JEEP PATRIOT BEGAN SURGING AND STALLING DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON. THE SOLUTION OFFERED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL IS A REAL JOKE, BECAUSE IT INSTRUCTS THE OWNER TO PULL OVER, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, AND TURN THE CAR ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL THE SYSTEM RESETS. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED I TOOK THE JEEP TO A JEEP DEALER WHO SAID THEY DOWNLOADED NEW SOFTWARE THAT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, IT DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE, FOUR MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION, IT IS A DANGEROUS BAND-AID AND JEEP SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL AND FIX THE PROBLEM.
MY ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN POPPING ON AND OFF FOR THE LAST 6 WEEKS. COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE THAT WAS CAUSING IT.NOW THE LAST 2 WEEKS MY DASH LIGHT THAT SIGNALS A ELECTRICAL THROTTLE ISSUE.IT WAS HAVING ISSUES OF GAINING SPEED AND DECELERATING.YESTERDAY AUGUST 18TH IT PUT MY JEEP INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND MY ENGINE LIGHT PLUS THE THROTTLE LIGHT CAME ON.I COULD NOT MOVE MY JEEP I WAS FORTUNATE THAT I WAS SITTING STILL IN A PARKING LOT.I HAD ONLY RETURNED TO MY CAR AFTER WORK AND TURNED IT ON AND THIS IS WHAT IT DID.IT IS AT THE REPAIR SHOP NOW WAITING ON WHAT THE ISSUE IS AND HOW IT CAM ABOUT. .

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP PATRIOT. WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATE. THE CHECK ENGINE, CHANGE OIL ERROR MESSAGE, AND AN ABNORMAL WARNING LIGHT DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
I WENT TO GET GAS ONE MORNING, AFTER FILLING UP, I TRIED TO START MY JEEP AGAIN. THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WENT HAYWIRE, LIGHTS, RADIO AND THE WIPERS CAME ON AND OFF. THE FUEL GAUGE AND THERMOSTAT JUMPED UP AND DOWN, AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS A BAD TIPM AND WILL COST ME $1,100 TO REPLACE. I'VE READ NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS, YET CHRYSLER SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT POSITION SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL PARTS INCLUDING THE WIRING HARNESS WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE MAIN COMPUTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,890.
A REMEDY FOR THE AIRBAGS & SEAT BELTS STILL HASN'T BEEN OFFERED. THIS RECALL DOESN'T INCLUDE THE ONGOING ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES OR THE UNWANTED ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS ANY TIME OVER 60 MPH, THE JEEP LOSES POWER AND THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING LIGHT COMES ON. I HAVE TO PULL OVER, WAIT FOR IT TO COOL, BEFORE I CAN DRIVE AGAIN. IT HAPPENED AGAIN YESTERDAY. I WAS DRIVING AT 65 MPH ON ROUTE 95. THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR DROPPED TO 30 MPH. I HAD MY WIFE, MY DOG AND MY BABY IN THE CAR AND IT WAS NOT OVERLOADED. I WAS NOT TOWING ANYTHING. IN THE PAST, I REPORTED IT TO MY DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I AM AFRAID TO ATTEMPT TRAVEL WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR. I JUST GOT TRANSFERRED TO CAMP LEJEUNE AND NEED TO FIND A REPUTABLE DEALER WHERE THIS ISSUE CAN BE ADDRESSED. I ONLY HAVE 53,000 MILES ON THIS CAR AND IT HAS HAD MORE PROBLEMS THAN YOU COULD IMAGINE. LEMON
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON MY JEEP WILL GO OFF CONSTANTLY AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER THEM. THE HEADLIGHTS WILL ALSO TURN ON AND OFF BY THEMSELVES PERIODICALLY WITH NO WARNING OR ABILITY TO CONTROL THEM. WHEN IT RAINS MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND HEADLIGHTS ARE UNPREDICTABLE AND I CAN NOT DRIVE SAFELY. I BELIEVE THESE ISSUES MAY BE IN CONNECTION TO THE RECENT NHTSA RECALL #16V-668 MANUFACTURER RECALL #S61. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE JULY OF 2016 AND HAPPENS WHENEVER MY CAR IS TURNED ON. AT THIS POINT IN TIME, CHRYSLER AUTOMOTIVE HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THE SITUATION.
SINCE DAY 1 OF BUYING MY JEEP BRAND NEW IT STALLS WHILE I DRIVE. RECENTLY IT HAS GOTTEN 100X WORSE. TODAY I WAS HEADING HOME FROM OUT OF TOWN AND I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN ONCE AGAIN MY RPM GAUGE WOULD GO DOWN TO 0 AND MY CAR WOULD JERK. ALTHOUGH THIS TIME IT DID IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL I FINALLY PULLED OVER AND WHEN I DID MY CAR COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AND STOPPED..LIKE USUAL. SO I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND THEN IT WAS FINE AGAIN. UNTIL 10 MINUTES LATER. IT BEGAN JERKING NON STOP ON THE HIGHWAY SO I PULLED OVER AND WAS GONNA RESTART MY CAR, BUT THIS TIME IT WOULDN'T TURN ON. I SAT THERE ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY PANICKING FOR 10 MINUTES UNTIL I COULD FINALLY GET IT BACK ON. AND YET THE NEXT HOUR WAS FULL OF NON STOP JERKING AND HAVING TO PULL OVER. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AROUND 4 TIMES YET THERE'S NO LIGHT ON SO NOTHING CAN BE FOUND. I HAPPEN TO LOOK UP RECENTLY AND SEE THERE WAS APPARENTLY A RECALL ON THIS VEICHLE SO I TOOK IT IN AGAIN, BUT WHEN THEY PUT MY VIN THERE IS NOTHING! THIS PROBLEM WITH IT JERKING AND STALLING HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE AROUND DECEMBER OF 2013. I FINALLY HAVE DECIDED TO MAKE A REPORT BECAUSE I AM SO TIRED OF HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT MY CAR DYING ON ME WHILE I'M DRIVING! THIS VEICHLE IS SO UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!
FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS THE RED LIGHTING BOLT ON MY 2014 JEEP PATRIOT TURNS ON AND OFF, SOMETIMES WHEN THE AC IS ON, AND SOMETIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING MORE THAN 40MPH. TODAY, IT WAS DIFFERENT THE LIGHTING BOLT TURNED ON WHILE DRIVING 20MPH WITH THE AC OFF, IT STARTED FLASHING AND THEN MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE ENGINE STARTING STALLING, THE CAR WENT ONTO PARK MODE WITHOUT ME SWITCHING THE GEAR, THEN IT MOVED FORWARD AND THEN BACKWARDS WHILE ON PARK MODE. THIS IS VERY FRIGHTENING, ESPECIALLY WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY 15MOTHS, AND 9 YEARS OLD TO CAMP. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER, AND THEY SUGGESTED A TUNE-UP. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THE CAR ONLY HAS 28,000, I DON'T THINK IT NEEDS A TUNE UP. NOW, I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR, AND THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING SUCH PROBLEM.
THIS VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE RECALL FROM DECEMBER 2014, HOWEVER IS PRESENTING WITH THE SAME AS LISTED PROBLEMS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP PATRIOT. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS GREATER THAN 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN JERKING AND HESITATING BEFORE LOSING POWER AND SHUTTING OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
BRAKES HAVE BEEN SQUEAKING SINCE JUNE. DISCUSSED IT AGAIN WITH DEALERSHIP & WAS TOLD BRAKES ARE FINE & IT'S "NORMAL". THIS OCCURS WHEN BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY WHICH IS NOT VERY STEEP & EVEN BRAKING AT A STOP SIGN AT 20 MPH ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. EVEN WHEN BRAKING ON FLAT SURFACES OUT OF PARKING SPOTS IN REVERSE.
CVT TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS CAUSING CAR TO LOSE POWER. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2014 JEEP PATRIOT LATITUDE FROM MARSHALL DODGE IN CRITTENDEN (WHICH SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER PURCHASING!) WAS A GREAT CAR FOR THE FIRST LITTLE BIT. I CAN NO LONGER DEPEND ON THIS VEHICLE ON THE INTERSTATE. AT INTERSTATE SPEED (65-70 MPH) THE CAR WILL BEGIN TO MAKE A SQUEAL NOISE AND WITHIN FIVE MINUTES I AM PLAYING LEAP FROG TO GET TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AT MAX SPEED OF (20 MPH) AND THE VEHICLE IS VERY JERKY. WHEN IT DOES THIS ALL FLUIDS IN THE CAR ARE FINE, GIVE IT ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND THE CAR WILL ACT NORMAL, BUT I CANNOT TRUST IT TO GET BACK ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TWO YEARS. I'VE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEIR USELESS EXTENDED WARRANTY AND NOTHING GETS DONE! I HAVE CONTINUALLY BEEN TOLD THEY CANNOT FIND ANY SIGNS VIA COMPUTER IT HAS DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS OR AFTER KEEPING IT FOR TWO WEEKS DRIVING IT AND LOOKING IT OVER IT HAS NO REASON TO. IT IS BEGINNING TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY AND AM FRUSTRATED I CAN TRUST MY ORIGINAL VEHICLE (THANKFULLY I DIDN'T TRADE IT IN TO THAT CROOKED DEALERSHIP) THAT HAS ALMOST 200,000 MILES ON IT, A 2004 SCION TC, MORE THAN A VEHICLE I BOUGHT BRAND NEW THAT STARTED BECOMING UNRELIABLE WITH 36,000 MILES ON IT. I FEEL LIKE I BOUGHT A LEMON AND THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T WANT TO FIX IT. THIS VEHICLE CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO GET TO A TO B AND I FEEL LIKE I AM GETTING SCREWED BY MY JEEP DEALERSHIP AND JEEP. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS, THE MORE I RESEARCH THE MORE COMMON IT IS; OR JEEP SHOULD HAVE TO MAKE THESE VEHICLES RIGHT, BECAUSE THEY ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT ON THE INTERSTATE! SINCE DAY ONE OF PURCHASING THE PATRIOT MY VEHICLE HAS HAD NON-STOP ISSUES, MORE RECENTLY ALMOST RESULTING IN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER BEING INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH AN 18 WHEELER AFTER THE VEHICLE WENT FROM 80MPH TO 40MPH IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES, TRANSMISSION FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AND RPMS STAYED AT 4200. THE CAR MADE A RIDICULOUS SCREAMING NOISE AND THIS WAS AFTER THE DEALERSHIP HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 2 WEEKS (THIRD TIME BRINGING IT IN FOR THE ABOVE PROBLEM) AND NOW IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN WHERE I AM BEING TOLD THERE ISN'T ANYTHING THEY CAN DO. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD NEW STRUTS (COMPLAINED ABOUT A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN TURNING LEFT AND SHOCKINGLY THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE THIRD TIME BRINGING IT IN), NEW BRAKE SENSOR SWITCH AFTER THEY ALSO FOUND THE MASTER WAS LEAKING INTO THE BOOSTER AND THEN THEY FOUND THE SENSOR SWITCH BAD -THAT WAS OCTOBER OF 2015, APRIL 23RD 2016 THEY SAID THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THAT WAS WHAT WAS CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE - I MAY BE A GIRL BUT I"M NOT STUPID (THAT WAS THE SECOND TIME I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE TRANS. ISSUE). IT'S HAD A NEW RADIO AND TELEMATIC MODULES 5 TIMES, NEW ANTENNA, NEW TIRE SENSORS, MOLDING, DOOR PANEL, ETC. THIS CAR WAS TOO EXPENSIVE TO HAVE THESE ISSUES AND JEEP/CHRYSLER GROUP ARE TELLING ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS OBVIOUSLY OVER HEATING GOING INTO "LIMP" MODE RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE STAYING IN 4TH GEAR AND LOOSING SPEED - THIS VEHICLE IS A COFFIN ON WHEELS AND I WAS TOLD THIS WAS RELIABLE. WE HAVE EVERYTHING ON VIDEO THAT HAPPENED AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON MAY 21, 2016 AND AFTER TAKING IT FOR A DRIVE TO ASSURE THE PROBLEM WAS GONE (AGAIN THIRD TIME IT WAS BROUGHT IN). THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE COMPUTER RESETS LIKE A LAPTOP WHICH IS WHY THE ERROR CODES GO AWAY AND IS CONTINUING TO FEED US LIES EVEN WITH EVIDENCE IN HAND. MY VEHICLE TERRIFIES ME NOW.
WE ARE CURRENTLY IN OUR 4TH STAY AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE MAY 2016 WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING, THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AND/OR ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL INDICATOR WILL DING AND LIGHT UP CAUSING THE WHEELS TO LOSE POWER (IT IS LIKE YOU ARE IN NEUTRAL), THE BRAKES TO BECOME HARD (YOU CAN'T DEPRESS THEM), AND THE STEERING BECOMES TIGHT. THE THREE PREVIOUS TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP (GRIFFIN DODGE TIFTON GA), WE'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY REPLACED THE STABILITY CONTROL SENSOR, THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET, WIRING HARNESS TO THE TRANSMISSION, AND MOST RECENTLY THE CPU (FEB 2017).
THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THAT MY JEEP THAT WAS PURCHASED IN JANUARY 2015 HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. MY TRANSMISSION IS LOSING POWER AND SLIPPING. A VERY LOUD GRINDING NOISE STARTED AND EVERY MILE THAT I DROVE IT GRADUALLY GOT WORSE CAUSING IT TO LOSE POWER. I WAS TOLD IF PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED THE VEHICLE WILL END UP SHUTTING OFF ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THUS CREATING A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AS IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. WHEN IS A VEHICLE CONSIDERED A LEMON? I DON'T WANT TO WAIT UNTIL SOMETHING LIFE THREATENING HAPPENS WITH MY FAMILY , FRIENDS, OR CUSTOMERS ARE IN MY VEHICLE. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THAT I HAVE LOST MONEY FROM IT BEING IN THE SHOP.
I'VE HAD MY VEHICLE SINCE NEW IN 2014 AND FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF HAVING THE VEHICLE I TRAVELED 50 MILES ONE WAY TO WORK EVERY DAY, SO I PUT A LOT OF MILES ON THE VEHICLE BUT MAINLY HIGHWAY MILES. I'VE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE UNTIL A MONTH AGO. I WENT TO GO TO WORK AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AN TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BECAUSE OF THE ETC LIGHT. THE ENGINE PULSATED AND REVVED STEADY AT 4,000 RPMS UNTIL I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. I TOOK IT TO A CHRYSLER DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE PCM. I GOT MY VEHICLE BACK AND IT WORKED FINE FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. UPON GETTING GAS THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. ALL THE LIGHTS AND THE RADIO WORKED BUT IT WOULD NOT CLICK, CRANK, OR TURN OVER. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT RAN FINE FOR 3 DAYS AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER CHRYSLER DEALER AND HAD YET ANOTHER PCM PUT IN IT. THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE CHRYSLER DEALER AND I'VE BEEN WITHOUT IT AND DRIVING A RENTAL FOR ALMOST A WEEK NOW. I'VE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND UPON ASKING THEM WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IF THE ISSUE PERSISTS, THEY COULD ONLY SAY THEY'LL CONTINUE TO DIAGNOSE IT AND FIX IT. I HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO BE DRIVING AN LET SIT ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IF I DECIDE TO TAKE HIM SOMEWHERE FARTHER AWAY.
2014 JEEP PATRIOT 6 MONTHS AGO DRIVING ON INTERSTATE THE ACCELERATION SPEED WENT FROM 70 MPS TO 25 MPS ALMOST HIT BY 18 WHEELER TRUCK TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP STATED THE SPEED SE SOR WAS DEFECTED AND REPAIRED. ON APRIL 25 CAR ACCELERATION WSLOWED DOWN AND CAR WAS THROTTLING. DEALERSHIP STATED CODES WERE TRANSMISSION ISSUES, CVT SHIFFTED OUT OF TRANSMISSION. UNHAPPY ONLY HAD CAR 2 YEARS SEEKING LEGAL ADVICE IMMEDIATELY! CAR IS VERY UNSAFE ON INTERSTATE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR WHEEL HUB SEIZED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
THIS 2014 JEEP PATRIOT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WITH A DEER AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. RECALL S61/NHTSA 16V-668 DATED 10/01/16 STILL HAS NO SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM. WE ALSO HAVE A 2010 JEEP PATRIOT UNDER THIS RECALL. EVERY TIME WE DRIVE EITHER CAR IT IS IN JEEP'S HANDS. WE NEED A SOLUTION!!!!!!!
